ty for sharing (^: i believe canonically reploids (not including new-gens?) are /not/ as advanced as X due to mass production limitations, but personally i dont feel canon needs to be strictly followed often, esp in a game like mmx where shit is getting retconned so outrageously often. but also i will say i have always liked the idea of X being impossible to replicate and therefore making him (+zero) fully unique

in the manga (someone can correct me if this is inaccurate as i havent read it yet) vile is seen drinking liquor tho states he cannot taste it (i think he may have also mentioned liking how it felt? or maybe im confusing that with my zero #SODA post) ... i also believe in the manga its implied X was the only one that could taste bc cain made him a drink and he said it tasted bad? but to me what happens in the manga holds almost the same weight as someones own headcanons

etanks would be like. blue raspberry vanilla in a Warming Way. it reminds me of antifreeze which smells like candy/maple syrup, so i always imagined it being SWEET (and that if a bot got beat up and had internal fuel leaks they would smell like sugar)

really late response but, he doesnt really enjoy trying/tasting or eating human food regularly. usually only eats whatever x or zero do (usually eats dinner with x and zero whenever they have time to be together all three of them) otherwise theyre just neutral on only drinking etanks and by sleeping on their charging pod to recharge :]

hc: if a reploid or robot master is given a chip/mod that allows them to taste, they will percieve bitterness and sourness as "good" flavors, sweet as "neutral," and savory + umami/saltiness as "bad". no steak, but a lemon is a tasty indulgence. as someone who has tasted battery acid: it's a very odd combination of bitterness and sweetness, so i figure they'd like that

Shadow was still frustrated, still angry, but it was an anger that had finally faded ever so slightly. Still he was stuck stewing in his frustration and thoughts.

It wasn't as if this specific day held any meaning. It shouldn't. It's not like he had thought of it before. It wasn't as if seeing all the gifts being given today had him thinking.

It wasn't anything grand. It wasn't meant to be. He didn't want Blues getting the wrong idea. Not after what he had said just a few short days ago.

He wouldn't announce his presence. Instead he contained his visit to the living area where he left his gift on the table. Blues would be able to sense him enough to know he had come in.

The gift wasn't much. Just a few Etanks in a box along with a note.

The note wasn't signed but the script was familiar. There weren't many that preferred to write in script in traditional brush and ink.

Of course Blues knew he came in; the instinctual tug of his core alerting him to the other's presence as it always had, ever since he had been dragged back to life by Wily, was a traitorous gravity.

He hadn't moved since they fought. For those several days, the only movement had come from Tango occasionally curling into his arms, or leaving the room.

He wasn't sure what he'd have done if Shadow had attempted to enter his room. He didn't, though, and despite a small part of Blues knowing he wouldn't have, the prototype was relieved nonetheless.

Blues didn't move until the pull of his core finally faded, indicating that Shadow was far enough away for Blues to begin to chase him out of his mind. He stirred slowly, as if he were just waking, but the truth was that he'd never slept.

He never left his room, no; he lingered in the doorway, avoiding the ghost of their fight in the shape of his ruined door laying on the floor of his living room and the scars on the hardwood floor from its landing. He could see the box from there, and could still make out the note even from this angle.

Blues' hand tightened around the damaged doorframe of his room. Something hot and angry bubbled up from his chest into his throat, seething and sizzling until it overflowed in the form of burning tears and clenched jaws. It hurt, and somehow what hurt more was the stillness of his cursed, traitorous core, cold and silent even as he cried, telling him that Shadow had not waited to see if he'd emerge from his room.

Of course he hadn't. Blues wasn't stupid. Of course he wouldn't have waited. Blues wouldn't have in his position. Truthfully, he would never have visited at all if he were Shadow, not after a fight like that. But it hurt all the same.

A quiet sigh broke the silence as red eyes watched a clock tick the minutes away, a half-finished etank in one hand.

There was only a handful of minutes left of Valentine's Day, and Umbran had pretty much shut himself away the whole day. Once upon a time, he had liked this silly holiday. After going maverick, he had forced himself not to care about it, ignoring bittersweet feelings and focusing on more 'pressing' matters.

Now as he watched the last minutes of the day tick by, all he felt was shame, sorrow and heartbreak. Mostly for one particular person, and partly for himself. And he wholly deserved to wallow in his self-loathing and guilt right now, after everything he had done.

He could only hope that person had moved on. If not finding love in someone they deserved, then... at least, the sting of betrayal didn't hurt as much anymore, if at all...

Fuck, he hoped so...

Celerity:

Gosh, they just dorks together! Its always full of teasing, puns and light hearted jokes. Overall a fun time with the two of them around. When they aren’t getting up to general mischief with each other, Thresh gives Celerity a hand with her hair. He’s pretty skilled at braids and makes some elaborate ones if time allows.

I can also see Thresh wanting to test out his speed against Celerity, swimming along side her at speed. He knows she outpaces him but it’s all for fun. :P

Diggy:

Diggy gets the sister treatment. Lots of teasing and jokes but also a lot of love. He gives her gifts, things he grabs from the ocean, spare Etanks, anything he can do to show her some kindness.He feels like shes been through enough.

Our little Luna got out and headed to the road. It was dark, but not too late, dang time change. I wasn’t able to switch from oxygen plug in machine to an etank in time. Damn car didn’t even stop. I saw it go by as I headed out the door, then heard her yelp, she never made another sound. I found her in middle of road. She was silent but breathing. I picked her up, we both were filled with tears. I repeatedly apologized and kissed her as we returned home. I Called a neighbor who borrowed a car to drive us to an emergency vet. She was actually my son’s doggie but he was out of town. She enjoyed being upstairs with me and her fur friends. Poor Luna tho not crushed open, she had terrible internal injuries. I asked dr to please put her out of her pain. I held her paw and stroked her face as the drug sent her on to the ancestors. Our grief is not as intense as it was. I still cry. My son still misses her so much. I never hated my limitations of this lung disease as much as I did that night. Hit by car 6:24p— put down 7:35p Adopted 2/7/14 died 3/4/24 She laid in her favorite bed off kitchen so my son and her fur siblings could bid farewell. What a shock for him. I didn’t want to text him the upsetting news. He had a long drive back. Her was funeral 3/5/24 My daughter bought flowers and son’s girlfriend, and her siblings were there. Wow dang, I’m crying again!

Rockman & Forte was actually pretty good, but is quite held down by the last """two""" (more like 5 stages glued together into 2) King stages. If that last half had better pacing, it'd be up there as one of my favourites. As it is, it's a solid B tier. Outside of the King stages, Astroman's stage is long and boring, and the RM himself is just whatever altogether. Burner Man's stage wasn't that big a deal but the fight was pretty challenging. I think the hate for Burner must come from playing as Rock, something I will never ever do. Okay, maybe someday, but not anytime soon. All that, with less flexible movement and no etanks? no thanks! Still though, very fun. Just wish it had better music (couldn't think of a single track that caught my attention) and graphics (it's not ugly, but just has a kinda bland look altogether. 7 felt more diverse and colorful)

It certainly is just as hard as people say it is, though once again playing as Bass is clearly the way to go. Speaking of, I love Bass here. His sprites are so full of charisma.

Right now brainstorming & vaguely testing, i.e. goofing around with, something like a new Super Metroid run category: some premise that will call for a couple hellruns but is not quite RBO. Basic idea is "Low% except etanks don't count" [tentatively maybe "Tanking%"], which means you want to get 6+ of them and can then skip Varia altogether. Makes for nicer mid-to-lategame bossfights too than in many categories! I've still never beaten Ridley with less than 4 tanks unless I also have charge+wave+plasma or the 30 super missiles… suitless Phantoon with 1 tank is also a wall and even 2 tanks takes me excessive mid-fight farming.

Speaking of whom, good runners would just combine this premise with Phantoon first and end up having Gravity for all of their Norfair business, but since the point is we're assuming a player who's not a pro, they're most likely not going to be CWJ/HBJing to Wrecked Ship and will at least need to go get Speed Booster; or maybe Grapple, for completing something more 15%-adjacent. Doubling back thru Brinstar for initial tank collection seems like it'd be a good idea too, even if again not actually required for good runners.

Combines also, it seems, further nicely with my earlier similar concept of "Low% except missiles don't count" a.k.a. "Spam%", for people who don't like low weaponry bossfights; see above on Ridley-walling, and I have no idea what would be my tolerance on a plain-Charge fight because at my current skill level that just does not sound like a fun thing to try
