as well as childhood friendships: Ketja first met Geric, Balderic, Caliburne, and Vasch as young teenagers “recruited” (kidnapped) by a young wizard calling himself “the Magus Cid McReed”,

after several shenanigans involving crossdressing, learning magic, false identities and double-on-triple crosses, the gang realized they were being played by this weird older kid with his creepy grin streaked across his face

the boys ended up forming their own order of knights, the Triple Crown Knights, because Vasch and Calib are crown princes in their own countries, and Geric used to be one, AND they support Ketja’s claim to the big big throne of a vast continental empire across the Solaric Sea, as well as to an island nation with it’s own trade empire

they part ways after Ketja is discovered to have been crossdressing to attend classes at the all-male Arcanium magic school for the children elite, earning herself a reputation when she is sent to St. Julianna’s convent to learn to be a proper member of the dowry livestock class

there she befriends Brynne and Lilyth, as well reuniting with her childhood best friend, Ilyanka Ivraneu!

Emperor of the Evanescan Empire dwelling in the far away shadows of the eventide lands,

a marriage Ketja herself is completely opposed to but is at the mercy of Vasch’s grandfather, the Emperor Dorell II of the Neo Grimmorian Empire, which recently defeated Ketja’s own imperial families and put most of them along with their supporters to the sword and noose, who insists on the marriage to placate his own aggressive neighbors, the Evanescans

so the gang is at the opera house, Ketja’s is nowhere to be seen, when Revenants attack! unholy homunculi grown with wicked alchemy from the flesh of corpses, often in the warped images of their sourced deceased

enter Sera:

a lost soul with scattered memories of a young life spent in palaces and on grand airships, a story she knows is not her own, she is merely in the shape of what once was, her dark master having shown her her own “mothercorpse” many times, so like her, but so little…

so yeah, that’s enough for now

tbh the story came before the pictures, I just did some googling and figured out which actors not only resembled my characters, but also played in roles aesthetically in-sync with my OC’s

i’d blame my own subconscious before anything spooky as an explanation though, anyways, what was the point of this?
