essalamu aleykum !! first of all, i adore your blog, may Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ reward you for it 🫶🏻

to get straight to the point, i've been trying to put the Qur'an in my daily schedule and it's been an off/on journey, mostly interrupted by menses. as i read english translation online rather than an actual, physical Qur'an, i was wondering if you are aware of any rulings when it comes to menses and reading online translations?

i would not burden you with a responsibility of answering this question if you are not certain about the matter, but i thought i could shoot my shot and ask around, rather than search on google ( because that only confused me more 😅 ).

i understand, i have a response to someone asking me how to read the Qur’an consistently (in general) here if you want to check that out.

as for reading Qur’an on your menses— yes, as long as you are not physically touching the mushaf / physical Qur’an while you’re menstruating, it is fine and allowed to read the Qur’an online! especially if it’s translation, this is definitely allowed :) ♡

reading the Qur’an online is actually a really good way to keep your spirituality strong when you’re on your period.

Since a quite time I realized - especially at Masjid Haram - that people give their Tasleem/Salam after the Imam said the second time Essalamu alaikum ve rahmetullah.

But I learned that we, behind the Imam, synchronize our Tasleem/Salam (saying simultaneously)

Which is (more) right: After or same time?

Essalamu Alaykum We know that backbiting a muslim is a sin. But what about backbiting a non muslim? I do know that a muslim should never backbite regardless of being a muslim or not. But it confuses me that some scholars say that by backbiting a non muslim you would receive their sins and that this could take you to jahannam. Do you know if something like this is actually true? JazakAllahu khairan

Firstly, it is not a Muslim characteristic to speak rudely. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Muslim does not slander, curse, speak obscenely or speak rudely.” [al-Tirmidhi]. Whoever does a thing a lot, it will become his habit, so the Muslim should keep away from all the ways that lead to evil, whether minor or major. Whoever drives his sheep near the enclosure of the king is bound to cross the line.

Secondly, if your question is referring to backbiting about a non-Muslim by mentioning his physical defects, such as his having a long nose or a big mouth, etc., then do not do this, because this is making fun of the creation of Allah. If it means talking about his bad characteristics which he flaunts openly, such as zina (adultery) and immorality, or drinking alcohol, and warning against him, there is nothing wrong with that.
