I'm not actually that into the TCG, I just have Porygon brainworms, so I'm only familiar with a few Espeon cards. That said I'll totally have a look.

This might be a silly question, but is Espeon your favorite pokemon? (If so, do you have any particular reason/story why? If not, what is?)

it's actually not my favorite! my favorite is Braixen :D (followed by Archeops and or Popplio) Espeon is one of my favorite Eeveelutions though - and I'd put it up pretty high in my list of favorite Pokemon the reason I use it for my pfp and generally is because when I had my other account that was Yugioh GX based, the name I chose was "reirubi" a combination of "Rei" and "Rubi(y)", the Ruby part being because I love Ruby Carbuncle, which looks a lot like Espeon:

I guess you can call it a kind of cycle because me liking Ruby Carbuncle was because I already liked Espeon... hence me using Espeon for my Pokemon account lol because i thought "esprei" worked fine as a name (aka espeon + rei)

Want everyone to know that before I knew who Johan was I saw multiple pieces of GX fanart with him and his spirit and I literally just thought they were pokemon-crossover pieces and that was an espeon.

Pokemon Card of the Day #2828: Sylveon (Forbidden Light)

Sylveon was a Pokemon you’d expect to see the likes of in older sets, but not as much in the ones from 2018. A Stage 1 with an attack that helped set up was quite slow for this point of the game, and most didn’t get any play at all. Sylveon’s version of setting up did allow the breaking of a certain rule that players had to follow as well as provided a bit of disruption. This made it different than any of the cards around it, and while the issues Pokemon like it had were still there, there was actually something unique to do with it.

90 HP was not going to impress anyone on a Stage 1, and it didn’t take long for this to be Knocked Out if there was any decent set-up. Metal was one of the better Weaknesses to have, as the type wasn’t the best, while a Darkness Resistance could make it a bit harder for something like Zoroark-GX to get a KO early on. The Retreat Cost was 1 in case Sylveon did survive long enough to take advantage of it.

Wink Wink was the only reason to use Sylveon. A Colorless Energy let you look at the opponent’s hand. You could then discard a Supporter in the hand and use the card’s effect as your attack. This gave you a second Supporter and got it out of reach of the opponent, assuming there was a Supporter there at all. Odds were reasonably good to find one, though it wasn’t always one you could really use. This would have been better on a Basic Pokemon to say the least, even if it wasn’t bad overall.

Magical Shot was 40 damage for a Fairy and a Colorless Energy. Not anything to get excited about.

Sylveon might have been something to consider in a deck already using Sylveon-GX or Espeon-GX, but nothing more than that. You rarely wanted to have a Stage 1 used entirely for set-up duty, especially if it relied on the opponent’s hand. It was pretty nice to get a second Supporter while blocking the opponent from using it when it did hit, though. It was one of the better efforts from this sort of Pokemon in a while, stuck at a time where the actual role wasn’t that good.
