Maybe unpopular opinion but I actually think Arvo had a lot of potential and i think it would’ve added a bit more flavor to s2 if there were different outcomes depending on how clem treated him. Maybe if you choose not to rob him and try to protect him from Kenny he offers for clem to run away w him, mike and Bonnie.. instead of shooting clem no matter what 😭

post-pareidolia arvo house - it is situated on the outskirts of sartrill, and is a more crakam-style house, with some accomodations for his human form. the actual ladder down is on the other side of the trunk. the pines that support crakam houses are not the average pinus sylvestris but rather another pine relative, 'ramnfura', which is cultivated especially by harpies as they grow to impressive heights and are very robust.

Video
youtube
Hello! Please watch the video in 1080p so it doesn't have awful quality, and if you enjoyed the video, leave a like on it please! Thank you! I
f you guys read the description of my Kakyoin Project Diva Hibana video, then I'll just skip to the point, because yall know how difficult it is to make nice PD videos then, especially if you make your own mods for said vid lol.
My buddy, Alice, created this Narancia cover of Lost One's Weeping! There... was not exactly a whole lot I could do to make this pv look cooler? But I did what I could. All I got to work with is the crappy Windows Movie Maker, man. :'D I literally did this all last night btw. The original Narancia mod was pretty much a recolor, and I improved him to the best of my ability. He's still not EXTREMELY accurate, but I, again, don't used Blender as it's too beefy for my computer and takes up too much memory, and thus, I only have MikuMikuModel to work with, which means extreme limitation. Hope he still looks good enough. :)
I added a watermark in some parts of the video, for the same reason I did the Kakyoin video. I didn't want to, but these videos have been nightmares to create, thus I don't want this to end up on sites like Tik Tok without any credit, I'm sorry. :( Also, please don't ask for the Narancia mod, only Alice, Kaz, and I get a copy of him. Shoutouts to my friend, TheBizarreKazeko/Kazekothestrange for making the thumbnail, and Caffeinated-Chaos-Bean/RainwaterPearls/Bubble-P for creating the Narancia song cover!
I listed credits at the end of the video, but here they are in the description as well:
Narancia mod, and face mod: ShannaHeart
Eyelash mod: emsterchu
Narancia Ghirga Lost Ones Weeping song cover: RainwaterPearls/Caffeinated-Chaos-Bean/Bubble-P
Narancia's Voice actor: Daiki Yamashita
Watermark Remover by M&M
Arv's lip sync mod by Arvo
Eye texture: Disneyloid
Project Diva X song pack mod: CoolChar, Skyth, samyuu, korenkonder,  Keikei14, Yukikami,  jaykthx, Fresk/empa_nadas, jorj, jhonny
Lost Ones Weeping song: Neru
Eng lyrics mod: Eucalyptus
Insane BRS Eye flame: Stewie1.0 which is from Icy Wings's BRS module pack mod
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure belongs to Hirohiko Araki, and the Project Diva game series was created by SEGA

{ ooc. Just a heads up that I'll very likely be quiet ooc-wise until tomorrow, aside from close friends! It's once again time for my bi-yearly check-up on The Lumps(tm) and my appointment was bumped up to this arvo (probably because of the core biopsy saga from last time). And it's always a pretty emotionally draining experience
And not to get serious on an rp blog, but god knows that this isn't told to us nearly enough as it should:
Please, regardless of your age or gender, check your chest and armpit areas at least once a month
Especially if you are using hormonal birth control or other hormone therapies
There are hundreds of guides on how to do so online, if no-one has ever taught you (like this one). And more gender-inclusive ones are available
It doesn't matter if you're sexually active or not. It doesn't matter if you're in a relationship. It doesn't matter if your partner has said/felt anything (usually they don't notice them). It doesn't matter if you have an active lifestyle/workout everyday (hell, I do. So take my case as an example). It doesn't matter how much tissue you have there. It doesn't matter if you're post/peri-menopausal, still get periods, or don't have them at all. It takes less than five minutes, and can save your life.
There's no shame in checking those areas for lumps/changes, or anywhere else on your body for that matter. You're not inviting bad luck by doing it either.
Sometimes there's this idea that you'll be able to see when you have a lump, but that's not the case most of the time. Not unless it's right near the surface and/or large enough. Usually, benign lumps will feel hard and smooth and you'll be able to move them around a little. More concerning ones maybe won't feel as smooth. Regardless, if you feel any sort of lump, go to your GP and get a referral for an ultrasound or mammogram (but they likely will have to do an examination, so please be aware of that).
Trust me when I say you'd rather find that shit early and monitor it than to find one too late. }

I would like to know about the top five best notes you like to sing
Ooh. I had to think really hard about this... <3 (these will all be for treble clef as I'm a soprano) 1. Let's get the obvious one out of the way. A above the staff. It's the top of my reliable range (in a big group with sufficient practice I'm good up to C) And it just... feels good. One of my top choral music moments was letting that A rip in the fugue section of the 2nd movement of the Brahms Requiem. Freude, indeed. 2. To continue the trend and speak of the devil, C above the staff. And specifically this one from Carmina Burana. Nothing like joyfully shrieking your desire to fuck the Queen of England while backed up by a big ass brass section. 3. Okay I promise I'm climbing down off the top of the staff soon. G# above the staff, and specifically the G# in the final "amen" in the soprano 2 of Holst's "Nunc Dimittis." The entire universe exists in that descending line and I will not hear otherwise. 4. Top space E. If I resonate it juuuuuuust right, I can make my teeth rattle. Also, it's just in a comfy range to sing and so I have no fun story to go with it. 5. Last but not least... third space C. It's in a place in my voice where I have a lot of control for either setting the soprano-phasers to stun or singing a kitten to sleep. And also I once had a solo that consisted of chanting in Latin on that one note for like... 7 minutes. Sounds boring, but lemme tell you... that takes some serious concentration and practice and vowel alignment, especially when the piece in question is Arvo Part's "Magnificat." I honestly quite enjoyed it. The piece was beautiful and it was a unique challenge.
Thank you for the question!!! If you feel like it, what are your top five notes?

do you think Clem was worried that Kenny would hit her when she became a teen because as far as she knows he hates every single teenager he sees and has pretty much beat every single one she's known since the apocalypse began to a pulp in front of her (almost Ben, definarely Arvo) or naw?
(shaking his fist) damn teenagers...
I can see Clementine being worried about Kenny hitting her when she’s older, especially if she tried to him from beating up Arvo in the cabin

Ordered a cane. London taught me my back issues are worse than I thought, but I never noticed because I’m always either sitting or moving. I can walk for miles with no problems, but can’t stand for longer than two minutes without getting uncomfortable and that discomfort quickly becomes pain, especially if I have to do it multiple times in a day. And while I was OK to ignore it for a couple of weeks (except for my constant bitching here about accessibility), I kinda can’t ignore it over the long term.
I’ll be picking up my cane this arvo after work. I won’t need it often, but it’ll be good to have it on hand. Got a fold up so I can hide it from the parents.
I’ll visit one of our docs and get a referral for a lumbar spine XR. I know a doc who MAY write me one without an appointment otherwise I’ll do that later this week.

What do you think of Bonnie. Im looking for people who dont hate her
I think she’s alright. She has her moments where she’s super sweet and some others where she can seem kind of rude but i think she has her reasons for everything. Like i can understand her lashing out at Clem after Luke dies, guilt can cause people to do stuff like that. And it’s not like she was like constantly a jerk to anyone. She was super sweet to Clem for a lot of the game. And i don’t think her leaving with Mike and Arvo makes her a horrible person, i mean if you ask to go with them bonnie doesn’t like say she can’t and its not her fault Arvo shot Clem. I think people forget that people can have genuinely good hearts and intent but just get swept up in emotions and bad circumstances. For 400 days i can understand how some people may see her as hate-able cause it’s obviously not great to flirt with another mans husband but i think it depends more on your choices. And like the game gives you no choice but to kill Dee and there was no way for Bonnie to know it was her so i don’t blame her as much for that one, especially cause she can take accountability and apologize if the player chooses so.
So all in all i am not a Bonnie hater

Friday 1st November 2024
This is a strange and mystical place. It all started as we watched Poirot around 9.30 last evening. It was an episode that we have seen on numerous occasions no doubt, but still the culprit appeared as illusive as ever, and only the little grey cells could ever hope to resolve the riddle. However, the noise from outside became more and more invasive. With the confidence and naivety a novice outbacker might be expected to possess in these circumstances, we trusted this minor interruption to the airwaves would very soon cease. Not so. On turning in, the cacophony could only be described as getting more intense. It starts with an, as it were, oink, followed be an, as it were, honk, at the bass end of the octave. Then in tenor comes, ti ti ti ti. Now put that into some kind of order it becomes, oink, honk, oink, honk, oink, honk with ti, ti, ti, ti all the while. Now speed that up, turn up the volume, and repeat it for 2 hours. My head was placed between two pillows resembling a foam burger bun, and still the rhythm perpetuated. Just as it might suddenly cease, so there would then be an, oink and the whole thing began again. To venture through the external sliding door to ascertain more information regarding the source of this nocturnal orchestra would be folly in itself. The heat and barage of indeterminate flying objects would be prohibitive so the barricade pricinciple had to prevail.
Eventually the music stool lid went up and the music was put away for the night and all quiesced for the remaining hours of darkness, but the fear of a resurgence was never too far away.
One theory, away from the perils and dangers of the night, is the source of the noise might be a form of geese or maybe, according to speculation by the lady in the tourist information place, they might be fruit bats!
This morning we did what all newbies do when they hit town; go to Woolworths to buy a rubbery chicken and Tim Tams, and pop into the Tourist Information Office. It wasn't long before we were parked up at the TI and we met up again with the little family from Melbourne that we had got to know a little simply because we are always at the same places at the same time. We only just met up because they were leaving for Darwin to get their van fixed. We agreed to look out for them when they get back. The TI booked us on a cruise up the Katherine Gorge on Sunday, which should be good and pointed us in the direction of all the places we should visit. First up was the Railway Museum. That was shut.
Katherine had been an Aboriginal meeting place for thousands of years, but it wasn't until 1862 when the first European, John Stuart, arrived. This is the 'Stuart' who gave the name to the Stuart Highway, sometimes simply referred to as 'The Track'. John McDouall Stuart led the first successful expedition from St Augusta in the south all the way through the interior to Darwin in the north, finding a route for the transcontinental telegraph line. By 1872 the line was up and running, and an office was opened in Katherine. The railway had been running from Port Augusta near Adelaide to Alice, since 1878 but did not open for passengers from Alice to Darwin until 2001. Katherine today is a very mixed society with nearly half of the 18,000 people being Aboriginal, more than non-indigenous when undeclared are taken into account.
We set off for Katherine this arvo to follow an Art Trail around the town centre. It started at the old railway bridge crossing the Katherine River, last to see a train crossing it in 1976. The works of art are murals depicting local aboriginal people who have in their own way served the community of Katherine and are inspirational, especially to this latest generation; some of whom we see around the town who desperately need a purpose and direction in life.
Returning to our little house looking out across the fields, we supped SB and watched the sun gradually set behind the trees.
ps. Terrible TV here. At about 8pm last night they were advertising coffins!

Do you have any classical opera or choir recommendations? I've been obsessed with Verdi's Requiem recently :)
OooOoOoOoOooOoOoOoO do I have stuff for you!
First off if you like Verdi, look up any Verdi opera ever, cause if you like the sound of his requiem, a lot of those same sonic qualities will also appear in his operas. I don't think I could link them all here, but literally just look up "Verdi complete operas" on YouTube and you will have complete 2+ hour fully staged operas for free. I recommend watching operas because then you can see and follow the story more clearly especially if you don't speak or understand Italian.
I'd also recommend Palestrina's Pope Marcellus Mass, which is a wonderful choral piece purportedly written to convince the Catholic Church that polyphony (complex harmonies) would not detract from the words of the Mass. it sounds very modern to me and it's wonderful to listen to.
Arvo Pärt is also a wonderful living composer with beautiful minimalist pieces, and I'd recommend his Seven Magnificat Antiphones.
For more bombastic pieces, I've previously recommend Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, which is probably closer to Verdi's Requiem for bombastic choirs and orchestras.
I bet you might also enjoy Gustav Mahler's symphonies, which are less opera and choir, but still massive and intricate and beautiful. I won't link those one but I'll let you research those in your own time.
For more opera, you might like Wagner's Ring Cycle, which is four massive operas about old Germanic mythology about Albrecht the dwarf stealing the cursed gold of the Rhine, forging it into a Ring, and the individuals who possessed it, including Siegfried, Brunnhylde, and Wotan himself. (Fair warning: Wagner was an a-hole, anti-Semite, and favourite composer of Adolf, so if you have difficulty separating art form artist, maybe avoid him. But if you are able to ignore that and enjoy the intense complexity of his works, you might love this).
Hope this helps!

re the goldfinch ramblings
context for the description of hands question, I think I read one fic where the author just consistently mentioned "boris's pianist hands" and imprinted on that thought since I had a vague recollection of theo describing boris in a similar fashion and TURNS OUT he does describe him as a pianist
"His skin was weather-beaten but his clothes fell well, his features were sharp and nervy, cavalry hero by way of concert pianist;"
but not his hands (which in novel are more mentioned for what they do "He reached across with cupped hand and slapped me gently on the cheek.")
I also do think it would've been so good if he had described boris's hands...
and regarding the music yes!!!! it IS one of his mother's favourite bands, with the specific song boris humming being one of her favourites from the group as well, which just drives me a little bit insane?? it's interesting that there is that connection, especially with how theos so adamant in connecting pippa as the one thing he still has from before the accident of losing his mother and yet he meets boris after the accident and a boris who does share similarities like singing the same songs.
and ooo it's okay if music analysis isn't your thing but hopefully you don't mind me rambling on and on about it 😭😭 and also I would say the first couple of times I read the book I never paid too much attention to the music but I found a playlist with all the songs referenced and it ADDED to the subtle context of things so I shall ramble more !!
but what you said about the classical music and pippa IS def an interesting thought especially since theo does actually try to listen to the music she's likes "Over and over I played her favorite Arvo Pärt, as a way of being with her" but he never actually states that he likes the music, and more often than not he's not really listening to classical music for himself. like theodore decker PLS who is he fooling !!!! and I also think this can parallel with how when boris and kotku happen theo spends his time listening to "Dear Prudence from the White Album (which Boris adored)" but he never states whether he likes this piece of music either, but he has sung it with boris on a different occasion before he runs away and within this instance of his moping alone his entire monologue is about missing boris
and this is my last music thing for now (this one makes me want to scream) but when boris and theo are flying seperately to go and get the painting back the background music in the airport plays "love… love will keep us together… think of me babe whenever…" which is definitely an interesting choice for sure
okie I've rambled for like way too long there but hopefully there's something interesting in here for you!!! I just think there's just SO much to talk about when it comes to this book like oh god....yeah and ty for the luck back ofc :D
anon i am so sorry that this has been sitting in my inbox for two months T-T i've been trying to procure the right words to respond to it but to be entirely honest i've got NOTHING, your analysis stands so well on its own that there's nothing i can possibly add :=

Made James a sibling cause like why not :3
"'An asshole of a brother'? Tell me about it, mine's a whole dickhead!"
Tumblr media
Meet.. Alice "Arvo" Prolongo!!
Alice is James' lil' sibling, and they kinda hate eachother. Let's just say they bond like Rodrick and Greg Heffley. James is the biggest asshole of the two and has a knack of annoying her constantly, frequently calling her a smurf for her beanie, she would grab a sledgehammer and hit him with it if she wanted to.
But they bond pretty well, mostly like rebellious besties. (Alice mostly develops her humor from him)
She's very sarcastic, so you probably wouldn't even know when this mf is telling the truth, or just straight up mocking your ass. She also gives up straight stoner vibes, like a lot.
Info:
Age: 14
Gender: F
Height: 5'4
Nationality: Italian/American (James is half Italian in my headcanon idk)
Hobbies:
Biking
This guy secretly makes dolls idk why, she just finds it fun
Likes:
Ofc her bike
Dolls (obviously)
Salty food
Hitting/annoying her brother
Candy/anything sweet (Got scolded for pretty much eating half of the candy in a birthday party she and her family attended)
Horror movies (Loves texas chainsaw massacre)
Comics
Crime documentaries
Beanies(owns abt 14 of them at this point)
Abandoned places that she visits with her friends
Radiohead fan
Dislikes:
Her brother
Everything (idk anymore)
Her hair tied up
Formal clothing (especially itchy dresses)
(Might edit this) + (Should I make an rp acc for this guy?)

Does Arvo’s name have any significance to the aviation company, ‘Avro’?
I thought it was kind of a cool connection (even if not intentional) because of how birds are the main inspiration for aircraft, especially planes 🙏
oh i must admit, planes are so awesome but i also am kind of clueless about them and aviation companies and such, so that connection is most definitely unintentional xD kind of a funny coincidence!
the motivation i went with when picking arvo's name however is kind of an intentional irony - a at the time not too uncommon finnish name (human arvo was a fennoswede) which means "worth", the name likely stemming from "arvokas" which means "valuable/worthy" in finnish!
this kind of pokes at arvo's main motivational drive of trying to become something which is "worthy" enough to live without persecution in a world which he sees as running on the suffering of the "unworthy". to him the human guise is achieving that "worth" - and the name is kind of literally that in meaning. but also the fact that "arvo" has a more neutral literal definition of just "worth/value (of something)", not necessarily "worthiness/valuable" also hints at the fact that he is wrong in his idea of what the human guise does.
"being human" is not what REALLY determines if he deserves to live and be respected as a person essentially. its completely neutral to that - what really determines that is the fact that he is alive, and a Person already

I had the loveliest customer come into my shop today. He recently moved here from Melbourne and he had bought a new dining table but didn't have any chairs yet and was chasing certain a certain one we sold. He said he didn't have his ute so he couldn't get them today and when I said I could hold them for him without doing a layby he was really happy.
I was chatting with him while he showed me the ones he was after and he was saying how much quieter Darwin is and that he likes it so far. Once I got his details and confirmed what chairs he wanted, I told him I'd take care out it from there and told him to have a good arvo and enjoy his time in Darwin and he responded saying he will especially with all the nice people 'like yourself' and I was like aww thanks.
He came back a few minutes later apologising for bothering me again to ask a question about another item and after I helped him he told me to have a beautiful day 💕

💭 📚 🩹 🎶 for Viola and Jamila?
Ooooh, these are such great questions anon, thank you!! And tysm for asking about my girls! Since I've never talked about them here, here are the absolute basics. Jamila (35 years old) and Viola (37 years old) are another set of my doctor wives - Jamila's a plastic surgeon and Viola's a trauma surgeon, and they both work at the same hospital in New Islington. I apologize in advance for any missing words/spelling issues - my dog's kept me up most of the night the last couple of nights because of storms (plus my partner, who she adores, has been on a business trip) and my brain feels mushy af not getting much sleep.
💭 THOUGHT BALLOON — what is your oc's MBTI, enneagram, and/or other personality aspects (if known/interested in)?
So, I don't usually do MBTI or enneagram stuff for my OCs but I decided to take a test for each of them answering as I think they would based off of what I know about them and it was a really interesting experiment, ty!
Viola is an ENTJ-A (assertive subtype, apparently) which... makes perfect sense, really. She is 100% a natural born leader, is extremely charismatic, loves nothing more than a challenge and is very goal and achievement-oriented. She has a very big personality and sort of commands attention and respect, if that makes sense. She's not obnoxious about it at all, it's just who she is and how people respond to her energy. She's also an enneagram type 8, wing 7 which seems to correspond well to her MBTI type.
Jamila is an ENFJ-A, although quite a bit less extroverted than her wife. She's closer to the border between I and E and definitely has moments where she needs time to herself to recharge her energy. She very much has the "wants to do the right thing always" trait, and loves nothing more than an opportunity to help her friends and family grow into the people that they're supposed to be. Jamila is an enneagram type 3, wing 2.
📚 BOOKS — what level of education has your oc most recently completed/is currently in (GED, undergraduate, grad school, phd, etc)?
Jamila and Viola both finished medical school, then went on to do fellowships in their respective specialities - Viola in trauma surgery, Jamila in plastic surgery.
🩹 ADHESIVE BANDAGE — does your oc have any physical and/or mental disabilities?
Sorry, I know this is probably boring but I don't think either of them have any physical or mental disabilities.
🎶 MUSICAL NOTES — what type of music does your oc like? do they listen to music very often?
Viola absolutely loves music and listens to it whenever it's practical (the only time it's not blasting in her OR is when she's got another surgeon in there with her who can't concentrate with music on). She tends to be drawn to rock, especially harder rock and alt rock, punk and post-punk, heavy metal, some industrial and EDM (especially dubstep). When she was younger (as a teenager and young adult) she was a constant presence in the local scene, and spent so much of her time going to shows and being in the pit. Now, she still loves going to shows but is a lot more careful and less willing to take dumb risks especially if she could hurt herself or her hands - her job's too important to her.
Jamila's not actually a huge music person. She doesn't dislike it or anything, and has artists she really enjoys but she just doesn't tend to think of putting it on most of the time. She's another of my OCs who tends to really prefer music without lyrics - she loves minimalist, modern piano music and film scores more than anything else. If she's going to listen to music she'll probably put on a little Joep Beving, Arvo Part, Megan Wofford, Gavin Luke, Franz Gordon, Reeder, Arden Forest, Ludovico Einaudi, Max Richter or someone like that. It's soothing and helps her center herself, and she has a playlist that she always listens to before bed to help her brain wind down (it's one of the few times she DOES think to listen to music).
