An Avengers retreat takes a turn for the better when Bucky decides to eat your pot brownies… all of the pot brownies.

A/N: Happy birthday, Bucky Barnes!
Dividers by @firefly-graphics and @reveriesources
Masterlist | Bucky Barnes
“Okay, ‘fess up, who ate all my brownies?” You turned to stare down the rest of the team, admittedly a little slow on your feet already.
The scene in the living room could only be described as chaotic. When Tony suggested he fly the team out to his remote cabin for “rest, recuperation and team building”, you had been fully on board. You were even more on board when he had you buy everyone fluffy animal onesies and you’d signed yourself up to a lifetime of being obsessed with your job the day you received an email to source as much weed, alcohol and Asgardian liquor as possible. Being the Avengers PA certainly had its perks.
“Not me!” Steve admitted, far too quickly. “I didn’t eat them.” He shook his head, sending the dog ears on top of his onesie flopping about.
You narrowed your eyes, “Well, you sure know something.” He looked the picture of innocence until he pulled Sam into the conversation.
“Tell 'er Sam, we dunno nothin’ 'bout brownies."
"Nuthin’” Sam shook his head too, his beer sloshing dramatically in its glass and wetting his hand. “My wings!” He steadied the bottle and brushed the stray liquid from the soft Eagle wings that made up the arms of his outfit.
“Have you spoken to James?” Natasha asked, leaning next to you and swiping crumbs from the plate, the last of the joint you’d shared placed delicately between her fingers. Somehow she managed to make the black onesie look very stylish, the arms rolled up to the silvery spiderwebs embroidered on the elbows and shoulders.
“James? Bucky?"
Organising and taking part in retreats was your second favourite part of your job. Bucky took the top spot, miles ahead of everything else with his handsome, stubbled face and gruff but gentlemanly manner. Despite being part of the team for a while, he still kept to the background, staying out of the way and keeping quiet. He was always especially polite to you, holding the door and making sure you were included all the time, even if he never really stayed that long at Stark’s parties or Steve’s team building exercises.
Deep down you hoped it was because he saw you the same way you saw him, in your dreams, surrounded by little hearts.
But life just wasn’t that kind, and you took his friendship gladly if that was all he could give.
"Why would Bucky eat them, can he even get high?” You slid forwards, leaning on the counter and clutching the empty tray.
“Bambi!” The four of you whipped around, surprised. Bucky bounced into the room with an enthusiasm that Steve hadn’t seen for decades. He also had chocolate on his cheeks and crumbs all down his front making him instantly guilty. You looked down at your onesie, light brown and speckled like a deer with tiny antlers on the hood.
“Ha, yeah, like Bambi.” You giggled.
“And I’m Thumper!” He laughed back pulling the hood of his own pyjamas up and letting the long, grey, ears drop in front of his face.
“Because you punch people?” You were momentarily confused, your brain refusing to work and instead focusing on the too tight fabric around Bucky’s arms.
Behind you Sam coughed to cover his laughter and Natasha turned away, eyes full of mirth.
“No! Thumper in Bambi!"
"The girl rabbit?” Tony dropped down onto the huge sectional couch, surprisingly sober. Although you were sure that had more to do with promising Pepper to keep the cabin safe, rather than any personal choice.
“Thumper is a boy.” Bucky insisted, eyes never leaving yours, his smile boyish and relaxed.
“How would you know?” Sam scoffed, leaning over the back of the couch, positively gleeful when Steve whispered that Bambi was also a boy and they fell back laughing together.
“Because, Sam, I’ve seen Bambi."
"What?” Tony’s snort of derision didn’t go unnoticed, but you shot him a glare. This was possibly the most relaxed you’d ever seen Bucky, you wouldn’t be letting anyone, including your boss, spoil it.
“I saw Bambi, in 1942, when it first came out,” he said proudly.
“That’s right, I remember!” Steve jumped up, the Asgardian liquor cocktail that Natasha had rustled up earlier starting to take effect. “We went with your sisters, Rebecca cried when Bambi’s mom got shot and he was all alone."
"Don’t spoil it, Stevie.” Bucky chastised, turning back to you as quickly as possible, “Have you seen it? Do you want to see it? We could see it?”
You nodded but he ignored you, continuing to talk as he got closer and closer, backing you into the kitchen island where the empty brownie tray dropped with a clang.
"We can go, I’ll take you, Saturday, you can have as much popcorn and soda as you like.” His right hand swayed by his side, nudging closer to yours until your fingers touched. “What d'ya say?"
Every fibre of your being screamed yes, just as you’d internally jumped for joy whenever he came by your office or handed you a coffee. But those times you were sober, calm, collected. Now you were four drinks and half a joint deep, floating off into the clouds. Professional judgement be damned.
So you screamed "Yes!” outloud for once.
He beamed, throwing his arms around you and squeezing just a little too tight until you squeaked. “Good, gonna be my best girl, my Bambi and I’ll be Thumper, buy you lots of popcorn and - oh - you’re really soft.” His hands found the back of your hood, pulling it up to sit on top of your head, letting it fall into your eyes.
“Yeah it’s nice, right?”
“S’fluffy.” Bucky’s thumbs brushed over your lips and down your neck, just inside the hood for a moment, before finding your shoulders and arms, rubbing the fuzzy material until you felt static build on your skin. “You’re really cute, y’know,” he whispered. “My own little Bambi.”
“I know.” You giggled back, picking up the joint again so you’d had something to do with your hands other than grip the front of your own outfit.
“We didn’t smoke weed back in the day,” he said, conversationally, as if he didn’t have his hands in your pockets, pulling out your lighter and a lip balm.
“No?” You took a drag, blowing the smoke to the side politely.
“Did a lot of cocaine though, keep us awake on missions.”
“Jesus. That’s…intense.”
He nodded, watching your fingers against your lips, the little pout when you exhaled.
“Can I?”
“You ate a whole tray of brownies, Bucky, I don’t know if you should have anymore.” You extended your arm away from his grabby hands, hoping Natasha would come and take it away again, but to no avail. Instead, he lifted you onto the counter, pinned your leg down and followed the line of your arm to your outstretched hand. His lips brushed the backs of your fingers when he took the twist of paper into his lips. You waved him over and he held his breath as he returned to you, leaning in close and only exhaling when you pulled your hoods together, his nose against yours.
Instinctively you inhaled, the rush of smoke and the smell of Bucky was overwhelming. You giggled again, trapping him against you with an arm around his neck and your legs around his waist.
“Haven’t shotgunned since college.” You smiled, everything was so floaty and soft, fuzzy round the edges and so fucking warm. When did it get so warm?
“You know with your floppy ears you could be-” your laughter bubbled up, cutting you off, “you could- sorry - oh my god - you could be Bucks Bunny!"
Bucky did not seem to like that nickname as much as Thumper and told you so, pouting until you let him take another long drag.
Time seemed to slow down between Bucky’s words, his hands, the way your glass of wine felt in your hand and the texture of his onesie. They were a good idea, so soft, good for petting, and Bucky was petting you too. His right hand was burning hot, even through the thick material, the pads of his fingers were calloused and rough, but the palm was soft. His left hand was so rigid, making a whirring noise. When you put your cheek to the artificial bicep it ticked pleasantly and you smiled, sighing and closing your eyes so you could concentrate on the joined sounds of Bucky’s heart and his prosthesis. In turn, Bucky held you gently, his metal fingers gentle on your back where he kept you snuggled in tight beside him.
You were faintly aware of the ongoing chatter across the room, but it had faded away into background static. Your soul focus was on the way two of Bucky’s eyebrow hairs stuck out from the others, the little patch of grey forming in his stubble, the dark fleck of colour in his iris, the way his mouth looked saying your name. Oh shit, he’s saying your name, say something back!
“Uh huh, yeah, uhm - maybe?”
He tipped his head to the side, bunny ears flopping over too, and came closer again. His hands on your cheeks. “I’ll help you.” He leant forwards to rest his forehead against yours.
“What’ya doing?” You tried to look at your forehead too but your eyes seemed to stop when they got to your eyelashes. Annoying.
“Telling you what I’m thinking without saying it.”
“Oh, is it working?”
“You have to tell me that, silly!”
“I don’t think it’s working,” you whispered, loudly, and Natasha groaned from the sofa closest to the kitchen.
“These two are out, done, nothing more for them,” she declared, waving her glass of red wine.
A chorus of yes and agreed sounded from the remaining Avengers. Clint had already fallen asleep across one of the arm chairs, his beer dribbling onto his shirt from the neck of the bottle. Steve and Sam were deep in debate about the merits of Japanese whiskey over original scotch whisky and Tony was watching you both intently, his own glass of Glengoyne warming in his hand. The way the condensation formed under his fingers was fascinating, and you told Bucky as much, pulling him close to your cheek so you could get the same view.
“I concur, what did you do to my PA, Barnes?” He raised an eyebrow. “You’re a bad influence.”
“She’s not you PA, she’s our PA. So she’s ours to influence,” he returned, proudly.
Tony just continued to stare, pointedly, sipping his drink.
“What you gonna influence me to do, Buck?” You kicked your legs against the kitchen counter, a picture of innocence, and Tony laughed into his drink.
But Bucky looked at you very seriously, bent to whisper in your ear, his breath tickling the back of your neck, his leg between yours, muscular and firm despite the fluffy clothes.
“I’m gonna influence you to steal all of Stark’s M&Ms.” He tried to keep quiet but ended up choking out the end of his sentence around his own uncontrollable giggles.
“Oh my god, you know he has me take the red ones out, says they’re smug. I have so many red M&Ms in my flat.”
“Hey, that’s supposed to be a secret!”
“Wanna eat all the red ones I brought with me?”
Bucky helped you down from the counter and then across to the pantry where you’d stashed the huge bags of snacks and sweets when you first arrived. Despite Steve’s shouts of leaving some for everyone, you closed the door and sat down, ready to tuck in, wrappers and chocolate littering the floor while you dug about for your favourites. Bucky sat on the floor, encouraging you to sit between his legs, keeping his hands moving over the downy material of your onesie.
“Okay, Bambi, what’ve you got for me?”
Before you could even attempt to feed him anything, Steve wrenched the door open, hands on his hips. “I think you need to sleep this one off, not eat more chocolate,” he insisted, waving at you both to get back up.
“Nuh-uh, Steve, not leaving.” Bucky tightened his arms around your waist and nuzzled into the back of your neck. “You smell like cake,” he exclaimed, happily, ignoring Steve.
“Sam! Can you help me shift Bucky?!”
“What about me?” You pouted, holding Bucky’s hands around your waist.
“You need to go to bed as well.” Natasha extended her hand to yours in an effort to pull you off the floor, but Bucky’s grip was too strong.
Eventually, it took everyone to wrestle you away from Bucky and bundle you into your room. In the corridor, Bucky howled his anger, breaking out of his room to easily find you in yours.
“Bambi! There you are! Those awful hunters took you!” he cooed, squishing your cheeks again and kissing your pouty lips. Deep down your brain registered that this was your first kiss with him, that the man who had been consuming your thoughts for months was actually kissing you, willingly, and had broken a door so he could get close enough to do so.
“Buh-kee, it was just Nat and Tony,” you drawled, your lips moving gently against his, reluctant to pull away.
“I know, but I didn’t like it, wanna stay here with you.”
Natasha, who was still trying to wrestle you into bed, gave up. “If you two stay in here together, and stay out of trouble, I won’t say anything.” She pointed at you both, eyebrows slightly raised.
“Promise I’ll be good, Natty.” You fluttered your eyelashes at her dramatically, hoping to seem more trustworthy, but she just rolled her eyes. “Fine, stay here.”
And then you were alone.
You hesitated for a moment, watching the slow movement of Bucky’s face, fascinated by the way the muscles tightened minutely when he smiled.
“I’m going to kiss you again now,” he stated, so formal that you broke out into another fit of laughter which made you hiccup and grab for his chest to steady yourself.
He ignored you, bending his head and catching your lips with his, messy and rushed.
“You taste real nice, you know?” Bucky licked across your lips again, swallowing your giggles.
“You taste nice too, ate all my damn brownies.” With a long lick up his chocolate smeared cheek, you kissed him back, tangling your hands in his hair, trying to push the too hot, stuffy, fluffy, onesie off his shoulders.
Bucky shrugged, and sat back to push the material down to his hips. Your eyes followed the movements of his hands, the way each inch of muscle revealed itself and, suddenly, you were hungry again, lunging forwards to bury your face between his pecs. Starting at his sternum, you kissed further and further down, shoving him backwards so you could climb on top of him, nipping and kissing bruises in a slow trail towards the end of the zipper. With a twist of his wrist, his cock sprang free from its confines and you bent down to lick the pearlescent precum leaking from his tip.
“Fuck, Bambi.” He dropped his head back, one hand gripping the pillows and the other cupping the back of your head while you licked the head like an ice cream. “I’m not gonna last if you keep doing that.”
You sat back on your heels, letting your fingers dance up and down his cock. “Feels soft,” you observed, thoughtfully, “Hard and soft at the same time, isn’t that funny?”
Bucky couldn’t reply, he just laid back, watching the woman he’d pined after for months finally touch him the way he’d dreamed. It seemed surreal to be here, in your bed, with your hands all over his body like you owned it. Well, he thought, you did own it, you just didn’t really understand that yet.
“I wanna touch you, too,” he insisted, “Can I?” His hands hovered over your clothes, so close to the zipper his fingertips brushed it when you breathed. You nodded and he lowered the metal slowly.
Everything seemed slow now, even his voice, mumbling against your skin when he kissed down your breasts and took your nipple into his mouth. When he bit down a little, you giggled, his fingers tickling your sides, until you were both laughing again, half in and half out of your onesies, brains full of cotton wool and lust and nerves.
“Hey, hey.” You tugged on his hair until he looked up, resting his cheek on your belly. “Can I tell you a secret?”
“Yes, I’m so good with secrets!” He crawled back over your body, lowering his face close to yours. “You can whisper it or you can do it telepathically.”
“I’m not telepathic, Bucky.”
“Sure, like this.” He dropped his forehead to yours. “I know all your secrets now.”
“No, you don’t!” You shoved him, but he didn’t move.
“I do!”
“Tell me then.”
His eyes roamed over your face, from your eyes to your lips as if he couldn’t help it. “You like me.”
“Everyone likes you, Buck, you just think they don’t.”
“No you like me, you want to step out with me, be my best girl.” He looked overjoyed to have revealed your secret before you could. “Am I right?”
“Don’t be mean to me, Barnes.”
“I’m not being mean, I read your mind.”
“You know what? Fuck off.” You shoved a second time, but he still didn’t move.
“Wanna read my mind? I’ll help.” His forehead met yours again, sweat beading along your hairline from the stress of being so clearly seen by the man you’d been fantasising about for months. Before you could protest that only he could read minds while high, he was kissing you again. Slow and steady, his tongue nudging your lips gently until you opened for him, throwing your arms around his neck and letting the feeling of petal soft kisses take over you.
He moved away only enough to take off his now too warm onesie, as well as your own, leaving you both naked and tangled together on the bed. He couldn’t get enough of touching you, he felt buoyant, happy in a way that he hadn’t for months, years, and he never wanted it to end. His fingers tingled when they touched you, though it was becoming harder and harder to stay in control.
“Bucky, I want you,” you managed to squeak out between kisses, fumbling awkwardly between you both, hoping he understood.
"I want you too.” He nodded, bumping your heads together.
You wriggled beneath him, guiding him between your legs until he was buried inside of you.
“Damn it, Bambi, you feel soft everywhere.” His wide eyed expression made you smile.
“You’re kinda soft too, Bucky.” This side of him was one you’d been dying to see, unguarded and playful.
He nuzzled your cheek and began to move, tentative at first and then faster. In your dreamy state, it was hard to know where you started and ended or how long you’d been locked together.
You moved as one, slow and steady, enjoying the feel of each other’s warm skin and chocolate sweet kisses, breaking every now and again to stare at each other in awe.
Bucky seemed to sense your approaching release before you did, speeding up when you fluttered around him, the erratic movement of his hips driving you closer and closer to the edge of the bed until you both tumbled out. The pillows and sheets followed soon after, dropping on you in an avalanche of goose down and brushed cotton.
You both paused in shock, your giggles broken by your fall, but then he was pulling you back down on top of him and holding your hips steady.
“Bucky, I wanna - I gotta -” Your hand drifted between you again to touch your sensitive clit, just a little more pressure and you could feel your orgasm building. The tightness of your pleasure started between your legs and radiated out to your toes, making them curl against the sheepskin rug beneath you.
Bucky followed after you, unable to control himself from the onslaught of sensation your clenching heat provided.
You woke the next day in a tangle of limbs and bedding, your back sore from sleeping on the floor all night and your brain fuzzy. Beside you, still with a smear of chocolate on his cheek, Bucky continued to sleep.

Breath of fresh air
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Pregnancy, kissing, small hurt, mention of injuries
It was so nice to finally get outside and have some fresh air. The last few days you were stuck looking out the bay window as it poured and poured. Natasha, your wife and soon to be mother of your child, was extremely overprotective and made sure while she was gone that Laura watched over you from time to time.
The Barton’s only lived less than one acre over, on a small but beautiful farm of their own with their 3 mini Barton’s. They had actually given you and Natasha the idea to live off the grid, and who better to have as neighbors than the people who had become your guys’ family.
Especially Laura, she was one of your closest confidants and you loved causing chaos with her. Being a recent agent-out-of-commission due to your pregnancy was different, especially not training as hard and sleeping in, but as your symptoms really kicked up, you were grateful for the break. Recently entering the second trimester had not been easy. It was nice having someone like Laura to talk to, who really understood.
Natasha was scheduled to come back next Wednesday, and God were you ready for her to be home. It was hard to sleep without her soft touch, the Russian lullabies she sang you and the baby every night, and the way she'd gently rest her hand on your back throughout the day as a reminder she's there for you. Sometimes she'd come home with baby clothes or an extra teddy bear she'd seen for the baby's nursery, and in those moments there was no doubt in your mind that she’d make the most beautiful mother.
As you were drinking your tea and reading your favorite piece of poetry, an extremely loud whirring sound caught your attention. Using your book as a shield from the sun, you looked up to the sky to find the Quinjet making a rocky landing in your field, swaying the grass in waves. Almost immediately, Laura came out of her house with her kids trailing behind, worry and confusion written all over their faces. You went to each others sides, "What's going on Laur? Are they okay?"
"I'm sure their fine, relax, it's gonna be okay," but you heard the breathlessness in her voice as she held you close and away from the unpredictable helicopter in the middle of your flower field.
The door to the jet slid open and revealed a group of ruffed up, exhausted Avengers. The whole pack was there from first glance: Tony, Steve, Clint, Fury, Maria, Thor, Bruce, but no- oh there's Natasha. You and Laura exhaled at the same time, half walking and half skipping to Natasha and Clint. Finally, landing in her arms again. Her hold was tender but tight, tighter than ever as she closed her tired eyes and breathed in your scent and held the back of your head. The team gawked at you and Laura like alien specimens in your lovers arms.
"I'm just gonna say it- who the hell are you two?" Of course, Tony was the one to break the sweet moment.
Natasha let out a mix of a sigh and a chuckle, before sharing a glance with Clint. "This, Tony, is my wife Y/N. Y/N - the Avengers, Avengers - Y/N. There, the formalities are over." Clint soon did the same with Laura.
The sound of leather could be heard crunching as Fury walked toward you and Laura, embracing you two too hard, nearly making you cough. You gently reached up to give him a hug, "Nice to see you too Nick."
"HOW DO THESE TWO KNOW NICK?" Poor Bruce, he looked like he was trying to solve a math problem.
"We're agents with Shield, dipshit. I'm just on leave due to-," you gestured down to your visible pregnant belly, "and the fact that Nick is my boss so technically I have to listen to him. But Laura and I have actually known all of you for years, which is how we met Clint and Natasha...unfortunately." You chuckled when Nat lightly shoved your arm.
Good ol' Steve Rogers was the first to stick out his arm, "It’s a pleasure, Miss." His grip was firm, but not too hard. You smiled up at him kindly, "Nice to meet you too, Rogers. And call me Y/N, are you boys hungry?"
A few hours later you were in the kitchen, freshly showered and bandaged Avengers sitting at your dining room table, causing a ruckus and playing poker. You loved the sound of a full house and conversations mixing together to make one babble of laughing, foul mouthed heroes. It was music to your ears.
A gentle figure hugged you from behind while you were over the sink, placing their soft hands on your belly, you closed your eyes for a second and sighed happily.
“Missed me much sweetheart?”
“You know I did,” you craned your neck to give her a gentle kiss on the temple.
That night, as the worlds mightiest slept in your spare bunks and sleeping bags, you fell asleep safe and sound with Natasha’s arm around you and your baby-to-be.

Sneaking Away
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader
Summary: The Avengers and you were invited to a musical, when it gets boring you and Bucky sneak away.
Word Count: 840
Divider made by @firefly-graphics
Masterlist
Being an Avenger not only means going on missions, training, holding meetings and doing paperwork but also with being invited to different types of events. Today you were all invited to a new musical on the Broadway. Some of you were more excited than others and some of you would rather do something else. You were excited to go, especially since you’ve never been to the Broadway before.
After putting on your favorite dress and some matching shoes, you grabbed your bag and left your room. At the same moment, the door opposite your room opened. It’s Bucky’s room and wow, he looked absolutely stunning and immediately started to smile when he saw you.
“Hey, doll. You look really beautiful.” He said, making you blush. You and Bucky have been friends for a long time, but you still always get butterflies when he calls you “doll”, maybe that’s also because of your crush on him.
“Thank you, Buck. You look great too.”
“Thanks, doll.” You smiled at each other and then went into the living room where the tickets for the musical were handed out. As you walked into the living room you saw that the others were already there, and Tony started giving everyone their tickets. After he gave you yours and then Bucky his, you looked over at him and saw that you will be sitting next to Bucky in the theatre.
“Where are you sitting?” Bucky asked and you showed him your ticket with a smile.
“Next to you.” You said and Bucky immediately started smiling.
“I’m glad.” He mumbled.
“Me too.” You said because you knew that he gets nervous when you are at an event and that he feels more comfortable when you are with him.
After a while you all got into the cars and drove there. Steve drove while you and Bucky sat in the back. When you arrived, the others were already inside and waited for you. After a few photographers took pictures of you and the Avengers, you all went to your seats. You sat down next to Bucky and smiled at him. A few seconds later Wanda was sitting to your left. You talked with her until it was announced that the musical would start soon. You looked at Bucky and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
The musical started and it was interesting but after a while it got boring and when you looked over at Bucky you noticed that he was playing with his hands and not paying attention to the musical anymore. You reached for his hand and gently placed your hand on his. He looked at you and tried to smile. When you looked at the stage and then back at Bucky, an idea occurred to you.
You smiled and then moved over to Bucky.
“Come on, let’s get out of here.” You whispered in his ear.
“Yeah, let’s go.” He said with a smile. You got up from your chair and so did Bucky. He took your hand, and you walked past the others. When you saw Steve sitting there, you walked over to him.
“Hey, Steve can I have the key for the car, please?” You asked and Steve looked at Bucky and then back at you. He nodded, reached for the key in his pocket and handed it to you.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome and drive carefully.”
“Of course.” You and Bucky walked out of the venue and to the car. You walked to the driver’s seat and Bucky sat down on the passenger seat.
“Where are we going?” He asked as you started to drive away.
“It’s a surprise.” You said and Bucky chuckled. After a short drive you parked the car in an empty parking lot near the Central Park. You both opened the car door and walked to the park. While walking you saw children playing, heard birds singing and after a while you walked past a lake.
“Let’s sit down here.” Bucky said, pointing to the bench a few steps away. You sat down on the bench and rested your head on Bucky’s shoulder while he put his arm around your shoulder. You looked at the lake and watched the sun go down.
“This is such a beautiful place, doll.”
“Yeah, it is.” You said looking at him and it was like the time stood still. You looked at each other with a smile and suddenly Bucky’s hand was on your cheek, and he pulled you into a kiss. At first it was gentle and then it became more passionate. When you pulled away you smiled at each other.
“I’ve wanted to do this for so long.” Bucky confessed.
“Really?” You asked.
“Yeah.”
“Then how about we do it again?” You asked quietly and Bucky smiled even more now.
“We can do that, doll.” Bucky said and pulled you into another kiss.
And that was the beginning of Bucky’s and your love story. You’re excited to tell the others and experience all the special moments with him.

Their First Love [Natasha]
Summary : What happens when someone come back to get what's them.
Pairing : Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader, Natasha Romsnoff x Bucky Barnes
Warning : None, I guess
Word Count : 2,642
A/N : Hi everyone so sorry that I didn't post the chap 9 of Omega and the crossover oneshot, my school ends right before Christmas eve, then my Mom got admited to the hospital and well next is new year so it's kinda busy, sorry again but this oneshot is in my draft for over a month or week now so this is my sorry token for you all
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE 🥳🎉
{THEIR FIRST LOVE PT. 2}
No one has permission to repost my work anywhere, if you see it please let me know.
You sigh, getting off the elevator in the compound to visit Natasha. You two have been friends for over two years now. You two met in the coffee shop nearby your company building. She sat at your table with your permission because, at that time, the shop didn’t have any vacant seats left. Since then, you two have hit it off and become friends. After a year, you started to date, and you courted her until today.
But once you get off the elevator and pass the two doors that lead into a common room of the Avengers quarters, you frown at seeing everyone gather around and see Natasha clinging to a guy.
“What’s happening? "You question walking forward; everybody looks at you.
“Oh, Bucky, the winter soldier, Steve’s pal back in the days, and the Bucky I’ve been talking about—uhm, he's back and sided with us,” Natasha explains, giving you a hug and a kiss on your cheek.
“Hi, Y/N, nice to meet you.” You offer him a hand, but he just looks at it without emotion, so you take your hand back.
"Ok,” you mumble, and sit down on the couch and just look at them, especially Nat and Steve, who have pampered this new guy with questions and appreciation that he’s here now.
You just let them have fun and enjoy their time. You understand why, especially Steve and Nat. I mean, that’s Steve's pal or brother, and that’s Natasha’s first love, the love she found in the red room and KGB, where torture and killing grow, where she trains to be a black widow. But you’re not going to hide the fact that you’re jealous and scared that what you and Nat have will end soon.
You let it slide the first few weeks, where Natasha was constantly clinging to Bucky and having quality time, and set you aside, but when the 5th week struck, you confronted her, where she just got home from a 2-day mission with Bucky, Tony, and Sam.
She’s tired and exhausted. Their mission goes south, which comprises a lot of people's lives, and all she wanted to do was go home, get the dirt and blood off of her body, and hope the frustration and self-blame will go down the drain too with the rest of the dirt, and sleep the night off.
But that’s not what’s waiting for her; instead, you’re in her bed, sitting and looking at the wall in front of you. When Natasha enters her room, she sighs and comes to kiss your forehead, then goes off to go to the bathroom.
“Be honest with me, Natasha... Are we still dating, or will you and Bucky go back together? "You asked before she could close the door, not looking at her form, which was frozen in her spot.
Natasha frowns, slowly turning back at you with a confused look. She doesn’t know how to answer it, and she herself doesn’t know either. All she knows is that Bucky is here; she wants to spend time with him, but at the same time, she’s building a relationship with another person, which is you. She just sighs, trying to look into your eyes, but you keep your eyes straight.
“I-uhmm….I don’t know…I-” You didn’t let her finish her sentence; you already heard enough, so you stood up, took your bag on the sofa, and headed out to her front door. Natasha quickly followed you.
“Call me if you already have an answer,” you mumbled enough for her to hear, but Natasha never let you get out that easily.
"Hey, hey, hey! No, you’re not going to walk out on me; we’re going to talk this out like a mature adult.” She pulls you inside and closes the door of her room.
“Ok, I admit that I spend more time with Bucky and that I’m putting you aside, but that doesn’t mean that I will end things between us.” She started searching for your eyes to look back at her too.
“And there’s a "but" coming, right? "You look at her; you already know how this is going. Well, you should have known better.
“But I don’t know, I... I still yearn for him... I don’t know, ok, please understand,” she whispered, and you just nodded. You can’t do anything about it, though. I mean, you two don’t put a label on who you both are, so she’s still free to choose him over you.
"Ok.” That’s all you said, and you walked past her.
“That’s all you’re going to say? "You sigh again and turn around, giving her a small, tight smile.
"Yeah, what do you want me to say? Do you want me to be angry or what? I mean, we’re not together, Nat; we’re just dating. I’m your suitor, Nat, so I don’t have the right to be angry or tell you to distance yourself from your first love, so yeah, that’s all I have to say.” With that, you leave her room and go back to your house as soon as possible to sleep it off and get ready for your endless meeting tomorrow, but God has other plans because you met Bucky on the way.
“Hi…..Y/N right? "Bucky, stop you before you can leave the two doors in the lounge where he sat, with snacks in his hand and a coffee table, so you stop and turn around to look at him tiredly.
“Yeah, that’s me. Why? "You sigh when he stands up and stands in front of you, trying to intimidate you, but honestly, if you’re not tired and don’t give a fuck, you’re probably intimidating him too.
“I don’t appreciate you getting close to Natasha, so could you please distance yourself? "I scuff at him, standing straight, grasping my handbag in front of me with my two hands.
“Maybe I should be the one telling you that, because before you come along, we’re dating,” you calmly said, giving him a tight smile.
“Well, are you two together? "He challenges you, and you clench your jaw, looking up at him.
"No.” You didn’t back down, and he smirked, satisfied at your answer.
“I suggest you start moving on, because I’m courting her.” He gives you a sly look and pats your shoulder, then leaves.
You clench your jaw and give him a dirty finger, leaving the building with irritation and annoyance, and go straight home to wash away all the stress and tiredness in your body since this morning, when your day started to go south.
You didn’t bother to go to the compound for a week now because of a hectic workload, meetings here and there, and some dumbass who can’t do their jobs properly. Even though you missed Natasha and wanted her hugs and cuddles, you couldn’t visit her, so you just kept gifting Natasha food or flowers and texting her, but most of the time she ignored you, and you just rolled your eyes at that, thinking they were probably having their time together, so today you’re going to visit her.
But once you get to the compounds quarter, your mood quickly drops seeing Natasha leaning toward Bucky while watching some movies, but you put your jealousy and irritation aside and great her.
"Hey, Nat,” you say. She looks at you and quickly stands up and greets you with a hug and a kiss in the check that makes Bucky look at you dirty.
“Hi, how are you? You haven’t been here for a week now.” You give her a smile and show her the Chinese takeout you brought.
“Just busy in the office, that's all. Are you hungry? "You asked, taking her hand to drag her into the kitchen to eat.
"Sorry, but she’s full; we just got home to eat lunch.” He smirked at you, and you gave him a glare while he stood up and took Natasha off of you.
“So if you wouldn’t mind, we’re watching a movie," he says, then guides her back to the couch while Natasha just looks back at you, looking for your reassurance, but you keep neutral, which makes Natasha worried.
"Uhm, wait, Buck, actually, I’m-” Before she can get out of Bucky's grasp, you walk straight back to the kitchen, putting down the paper bag, and go back to leave the building.
“In case you..." you point to them with a tight smile.
“Get hungry or just give it to someone who wants it; I’ll be heading out now.” Then you leave with a sigh; you’re losing hope; well, he’s her first love; you can’t fight with that; that’s her greatest love; and now the only option you have is to accept it, because sooner or later, you’re expecting Natasha to talk to you and end things between you two.
And you’re not wrong, because the next time you visited, you saw them together in the gym, sparing, well, more intimately; they kissed passionately, savoring their time together, and that broke your heart completely into pieces.
And you don’t have the heart to ruin it for her, so you just give yourself a smile, nod, and turn back, going to her room to get some of your stuff you left there, and well, wait for her there to have a talk. You know she’s not going to say it to you right away, so you’ll confront her.
Once Natasha entered the room with a big smile on her face and a tint of red in her check, saying goodbye to Bucky, you didn’t look up at her; you just looked at her waist until you heard her gasp, shocked to see you sitting on the edge of her bed.
"Y/N," she mumbles, not moving a single inch in her spot until she clears her throat, having the courage to tell you something.
“Glad to see you here, cause I need to talk to you too,” she carefully said, reading your dementor, but she failed, so she just gulped the lump on her throat and just blurted out.
“I need to end things between us because I know it’s not fair to you if I keep this hidden, but... I'm getting back with Bucky.” Her heart beat faster. Looking at you, you scuffed and nodded. At least she had the courage to tell you.
Natasha quickly became tense and gasped when she saw a few bags already packed. You looked up at her with a neutral dementor, the one you always wore before you met Natasha, and this made Natasha feel uneasy.
"Well, I guess it is my cue to leave now, since you already dropped the elephant in the room.” You stand up, taking your bag, and walk past her.
“I’m sorry,” she shouts, running to you. She feels guilty and hurt, even wanting you to look back at the eyes that she’s been searching for.
“Don’t be; you don’t owe me an apology or explanation…..and so do I, when I'll make no exception to anyone, including you, and when you don't have the same privilege you had before.” This makes Natasha’s eyes go wide; she knows how you are around in your company; you’re cold, strict, and scary.
“Excuse me, Miss. Romanoff, I still have a company that needs someone to run with.” With that, you leave the building and sulk yourself to work, declining every call and knocking on the door, letting your assistant be the only one who can come and go in your office, and rescheduling all your meetings for a week.
If you will move on, Natasha is no exception. You need to distance yourself from her and treat her like everyone else around you, even though she’s still your friend.
This doesn’t settle Natasha very well; sure, she’s happy that she’s with her first love that the KGB ripped out of her, but the unsettling feeling deep in her bothers her.
Sure, she’s happy going on dates, cuddling, spending time together, and having sex with Bucky, but it still feels wrong to her. It feels wrong deep inside her, and she tries to set it aside, but the feeling keeps building and building up, like she’s going to explode one day.
"Hey, are you ok? "Bucky asked her with concern. He just got out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist, while Natahsa just lay down in the bed, lost in her thoughts, and only the covers were covering her naked body while the morning sun started to rise.
"Yeah, yeah, I’m ok, just thinking.” Natasha looked at Bucky with a smile, so Bucky quickly lay beside her and buried his face in her neck.
“You’re thinking about her, do you? "Bucky whispers, looking up at her while she scuffs and shakes her head.
“What are you talking about, and who’s “her” you’re referring to? "Natasha, just look at him for a few seconds and go look somewhere else.
“You know what I’m talking about; I can feel it, Nat. You want her; you’re looking for her even though you keep saying to yourself that you’re okay." Natasha didn’t answer right away, thinking carefully.
"No, you're wrong,” Natasha just said and stood up, taking the cover with her.
“I already have what I want,” she said, trying to convince Bucky, but the truth is, she’s trying to convince herself more than Bucky.
Bucky didn’t argue with her; he knows Natasha is a stubborn one. Sure, he doesn’t know her very well now; things change, and he doesn’t want to push it.
But Natasha thought of it all day, and Bucky observed her the whole time, accepting that sooner or later Natasha would need to talk to him.
That day, Natasha went out to walk, think, and clear her head, letting her feet take her wherever they took her. That said, now she’s standing in the cafe shop where she first saw you, your memories of her flash in her mind, missing how you smiled and how soft you were to her, how you looked intimidating the first time you two met.
Then Natasha went to your favorite flower shop, where she most likely saw you before you courted her, buying different flowers every 3 times a week or maybe 4, then she visited the fast food chain you always whined to go to because you loved their onion rings and twisted fries there, then she went to your favorite burger food chain until she went around the town buying things that you always whined about.
Until she’s standing in front of your company building, frozen in her spot while looking up to the high tower where you are probably in and on one of the floors at the top, this makes her heartache, and she misses going here ever so often to visit you and spend time with you.
She sighs and decides to go in. Reasons? to give you the stuff she bought from different stores around the town, and she hopes that you will let her in or meet her.
But once she got inside, the receptionist wouldn't let her in with the reason—Ms. Y/L/N is busy and doesn’t want any visitors—she closed her eyes, cursing to herself, knowing she couldn't just walk past security or make her way around to get to you. She knows you already hate her, and doing the dirty job to get to you will fuel you more.
Natasha started to walk back, but not until someone screamed your name. That’s when she turned around and saw you, looking beautifully in your sexy business suit that shows all your assets with three bodyguards, and let the woman in your right arm. This broke Natasha, especially seeing who the woman is—it's the woman you talked about to her, your first love.

Title: memories bring back you
Ship: Natasha R x Reader
You were dead. You were supposed to be dead, but Natasha was staring at your body as you slowly inhaled and exhaled and the monitor beeped beside you. She had watched you die. You flung yourself off the cliff and hit the ground. It should have shattered your bones, crushed your lungs, caused irreversible damage, but you were laying right next to her breathing with the help of a breathing machine.
It was a few days after Tony snapped his fingers, someone surviving, and Steve returning the stones. It was "normal" for a while during the time when everyone was getting their lives back together and sorting out the giant mess.
But when everyone met up at the new spot Tony wanted to build the new compound, an alert pinged Tony's phone that a body was discovered at the old site. Your body.
They had all rushed there as quick as possible to find you lying in the battle stained field. Your body was cold to the touch and had a hazy orange glow - barely visible and no one paid any mind to it, but you were alive.
They rushed you to hospital, which was where you had been for the past week, breathing with the help of a machine.
When Natasha first met you, she didn't expect to start dating you. She honestly never expected she would have a partner in her life, no one was supposed to want her after what the Red Room did. Especially when you tried to kill her after your first meeting, she thought the two of you wouldn't be friends.
She reached out to hold your hand, the limb still cold in a contrast to the fact your heart was beating and the warm room. Your fingers hung limply around her own, but the room started spinning. Orange fog closed in on Natasha's vision and she blinked to clear it. Through hazy vision she could make out Wanda entering with a bowl of soup before the world went completely black.
<__________>
Natasha crept through the doorway of a familiar building, the window locks rusted and the window pane yellowed with age. She slinked through the dark room and took a seat on the couch, removing a gun hidden underneath the coffee table and resting it in her lap.
It felt as if she was watching through someone else's body, but at the same time it was her own. She could almost feel the blood moving past her bones and under her skin. Shivers ran down her spine, but the physical body remained lax with a lazy smirk.
The door to the room opened, hinges in need of oil, and a light was flicked on, barely illuminating the room. You stood there, knocking the breath out of Natasha. Joy filled her, you were alive and awake! She moved to get up and hug you. At least, she thought she did. Her body remained in place, legs crossed and arms folded neatly in her lap. You yanked a gun out of your jacket and pointed it at her, finger already on the trigger.
Natasha's mouth moved of it's own accord, "Tsk," her tongue clacked against her teeth, "There's no need for that."
You quirked a bushy brow at her in silent question, mouth forming an even tighter line.
Her legs uncrossed on their own, the movement feeling stiff yet seeming fluid and practiced, "You've been making a lot of noise for someone so small."
The redhead's eyes scanned you up and down patronizingly, bringing out a light blush on your adorable cheeks, but your finger on the trigger remained unwavering. She wasn't sure why she hadn't been shot yet, you had every reason to shoot her at first sight, but you didn't.
By this point Natasha realized this was a memory. If the way her body didn't react the way she wanted it to, your appearance did. You wore sleek black clothes that fit tight to your body - you hated tight fitting clothes, but back then you wore them for convenience. The way your hair was carefully pulled into a bun that she knew you made sure was perfect every morning. Your eyes were darker than before, a metaphorical shadow settling over them and forcing you to look a few years older than you were.
Natasha stood, her legs feeling heavy but the action so normal, and she waltzed over to you. You stumbled back, legs tripping over each other and finger dangerously tugging on the trigger, but you didn't shoot. She smirked at you, a knowing one that conveyed slight conceit. If the gun shook slightly, past Natasha pretended not to notice as she leaned in.
"Go ahead," she murmured. Gosh, she had such little care for her life in the early SHIELD days, "You won't shoot me."
Your brows formed a near perfect line across your forehead as you scrunched your nose in frustration before unscrewing your face and lowering the gun. With harsh movements you shoved it into your jacket and took a few cautious steps away from Natasha. She grinned in a catlike manner before stating her proposal.
The words reached her ears muffled as the world spun once more and an orange fog clouded her vision. Pain consumed the back of her brain and before she knew the world went black once more.
<___________>
This time when she came to, a small line of sweat dribbled down her forehead and she could once again feel a smirk on her face. Natasha's feet danced around your punches, occasionally throwing one of her own, but amused at your frustrated expression.
You threw a punch wrong, stumbling forward as Natasha dodged - grabbing your hand along the way. She tugged you over her shoulder in a judo flip and you hit the mats with a thud.
"Ugh," you groaned, head lifting before flopping down on the mats, "This isn't fair."
Natasha let out a breathy laugh, "Give yourself time маленькая луна" (Little moon).
"I still don't know what that means," you complained, eyes closing.
"C'mon," she prodded you with her foot, earning a glare from you, "Get up, we still have 15 minutes."
You groaned once more, but hauled yourself to your feet and got into a fighting stance.
"This really isn't fair," you complained once more throwing a punch towards her abdomen, "You're not even sweating."
Natasha ignored your words, catching your punch once more and tripping you, falling down alongside you. She landed atop you, legs trapping your waist and hands pinning your own. You squirmed, but your attempts were fruitless. The redhead smirked down and raised an immaculate eyebrow at your struggles. A small pout was given to her in return.
"I repeat my earlier statement," you said, cheeks blushing, "This is not fair."
Her mouth opened with a remark that she didn't remember before the orange fog returned, her brain clouding with blank thoughts. Natasha screamed internally, frustration building up inside her and bubbling inside of her chest, she wanted to stay here with you. But the world clouded over and it was dark once more.
<_____________>
When her vision cleared once more, Natasha was in lounge clothes - simple sweatpants and a hoodie. She had a computer in her lap as she typed away on what looked like an old mission report, but the words were hazy as if she didn't remember it properly.
Soft footsteps echoed through the area as you entered, sliding on your socks part way.
"Hey Nat?" you called distractedly as you approached her, but still entranced with pulling a splinter out of your finger, "Do we have any nutella cause last I checked there was none but I think Tony just ordered groceries - or Pepper ordered groceries."
"I think so," she murmured, still focused on her mission report.
Faintly there was a response of "great" and you disappeared for a minute. Natasha wasn't sure why this memory was playing until you returned holding a jar of nutella in one hand and spoon in the other. You flopped down on the couch next to her, legs touching before grabbing the remote.
"You mind if I turn on a show?"
Natasha shook her head, still engrossed with her mission report. She wished she could force her past self to look at you, she wanted to see you clearly once more - your perfect eyelashes, your now casual clothes, your little beanie, but her eyes stayed on the computer.
A show played in the background, she wasn't sure what, but the redhead could hear you scrapping nutella off the sides of the jar. Time passed, Natasha wasn't sure how much before she felt a thud on her shoulder. Her fingers froze in their rapid movement, and she finally got a good look at you. Your head was rested on her shoulder and you looked years younger from the first memory, but still tired.
Dark bags hung under your eyes, apparent even as you slept, and frown lines rested by the corners of your mouth. She knew you hadn't been sleeping well with all your nightmares, but she didn't notice it was this bad. You rarely fell asleep around anyone, in fact you had never fallen asleep outside of you own room. Even when your eyes were drooping and speech was slurred, you had adamantly refused to fall asleep unless you were alone.
Tentatively she moved to reach a hand up to tilt your head back when it started falling off her shoulder, but the stupid orange haze entered her vision again. Natasha tried to fight it, mentally forcing herself to stay in the moment, but the fog persisted and the memory faded into the background.
<______________>
The world faded back into view and Wanda was walking through a door with a bowl of soup in her hands. She smiled at Natasha, unaware of the redhead's internal conflict, and said something Natasha didn't process.
She looked around the room, where was she? You laid next to her on a medical bed, a heart monitor beeping next to you as a breathing tube was hooked up to your face. Her hand was clasped tightly around your cold one and Natasha yanked her hand away. Shoving her chair back, Natasha stood and took a few steps away from you.
"Nat?" Wanda gently placed the bowl of soup down on the sole table in the room, "You ok?"
"She- I" it was one of the only times Natasha couldn't formulate words, "She-"
"She's ok," Wanda soothed, taking Natasha's hand in her own, but the older woman yanked them out of Wanda's hold. The younger woman frowned, but took it in stride, "Nat? Your worrying me."
Natasha took a deep breath, opening her mouth to say something before your heart monitor started going crazy. Loud, chaotic beeps filled the room as your eyes shot open. Your limbs flailed around before reaching for the oxygen mask and ripping it off and stumbling to tug the IV out. You scrambled out of bed, ignoring both women's rushed attempts at stopping you as you stumbled over into the corner of the room. Your hands grasped for something, presumably a weapon that wasn't there.
"Y/N..." Natasha raised her hands placatingly and took a soft step towards you.
"Wait, Natash-" Wanda tried to warn her, but before she could finish the sentence you launched yourself at Natasha. Slim, cold hands wrapped around the redhead's neck as her back hit the floor.
Orange haze threatened to take over Natasha's mind once more before red wisps of magic pried you off and restrained your struggling form. The ex-widow took a big deep breath before standing and staring at you with a hurt expression.
"Y/N?"
You spat at her, spit pooling near her shoes.
"Who the fuck are you and how the hell do you know my name?"

Hold Me
TW: Depression, weight loss, mention of suicidal thoughts
You heard the chatter from the living room when you stepped off the elevator at the tower. A chorus of laughter could be heard, laughter that typically you’d be itching to join in with. But recently, you couldn’t. You just needed to go to your room and curl up in bed.
The depression hit you out of nowhere. One bad day turned into two which turned into weeks where you couldn’t stop your thoughts from spiraling to dark places. Places that terrified you. It was hard being an Avenger and a college student and battling depression definitely didn’t make it any easier. You didn’t wanna do anything. You didn’t wanna exist anymore.
You passed by Thor, Steve, Tony, and Bucky all seated with beers in hand. “Hey, baby,” Bucky greeted you cheerfully. “Come join us!”
You gave them all a small smile. “I’m pretty tired,” you answered. “I think I’m gonna go lie down for a bit.” You didn’t want anyone, especially Bucky, to know how dark it was in your head. You were always the “nice” one. The “helpful” one. But it was so exhausting especially when every day you were battling the heaviness inside of your chest. You never got to snap. You always had to just be nice.
“Alright, sweetheart,” your boyfriend said with a smile.
No, you thought. Come with me. Come hold me. It was like you had two different people in your brain. One terrified of Bucky finding out how miserable you were and one wanting to spill it all to him. For him to hold you and make the pain go away. But somehow that first voice always ended up being a little stronger.
You trudged to the oasis of your bedroom, quickly throwing off the clothes you had on in favor of pajamas. As far as you were concerned, you weren’t getting out of bed for the rest of the day. You never really felt hungry anymore, so you didn’t worry about skipping dinner.
You thought Bucky didn’t notice. You thought he was oblivious to the way your smile never reached your eyes anymore, or the weight you had lost. You thought he didn’t hear when you cried softly at night. But he did. He noticed it all.
“I’m worried about her,” he sighed out in the living room. “Something’s wrong.”
“What do you mean?” Steve asked. “She seems fine to me. You heard her, she’s just tired.”
Bucky shook his head and took a sip of his beer. “It’s more than that. She-she doesn’t smile anymore. Not real smiles. She’s losing weight and she hardly eats anything. I’ve been waiting for her to come to me, I mean I never wanna push her but I don’t know how much longer I can just ignore it.”
“You should talk to her about it. Maybe you’re just overthinking and nothing’s wrong,” Tony suggested.
“No,” Bucky rubbed his face. “I know my girl. This isn’t her.”
Back in the bedroom, silent tears fell from your eyes. You didn’t even know what you were crying about. It was just a part of your daily routine at this point. You cried because you were frustrated that you felt this way. Because you just wanted it to stop.
The door creaked open, shining a streak of light into the dark room. You quickly turned your head and pretended to be asleep, hoping that Bucky wouldn’t catch on. But you were too late to hide it from your boyfriend and his supersoldier senses.
He sat down on the bed next to you and began to rub your back. “Y/N,” he whispered calmly. Seeing you cry broke his heart in pieces. He couldn’t just stand back anymore and watch you in so much pain. “Baby, you gotta talk to me. What’s going on with you, love?”
You didn’t speak at first. You just began to cry harder into the pillow at his words. The way he touched you like you were so fragile, the gentle tone of his voice, it was all too much. You didn’t deserve his sympathy.
“Oh angel…” he whispered, hearing your cries get more intense. “Let it out. It’s okay.” He continued rubbing your back as you cried for a little longer. “Can you sit up for me?” He asked, once you had calmed down. You did as he asked, positioning yourself upright and looking at him. Your eyes were red and puffy and the sight of you broke Bucky’s heart. “What’s going on, honey?”
“I…” you tried to tell him, but you couldn’t find the words. You didn’t even have a reason to be depressed. Nothing happened that had triggered it. Who were you to complain when Bucky had been through so much? “I’m okay. Just a long day. I’m really tired.”
“Don’t lie to me,” he said, taking your hand. “You think I haven’t noticed you’ve been off? Baby, all you do whenever you get home from class is lie in bed. You don’t care about grades like you used to. You don’t eat anything and you’ve lost so much weight. I’m really scared.” His eyes held the kind of sincerity you could only imagine. No one had ever looked at you with so much love and care.
“I can’t explain it,” you whispered so quietly that it was barely audible.
“Can’t explain what?” “I don’t know why I feel this way,” you continued, a few more tears spilling out. “I just feel like everything is hopeless. It’s like I have a bag of rocks sitting on my chest all the time and it hurts so much. And I don’t know why! Nothing changed. Nothing happened. One day it just came and it never left.”
Bucky inched a little closer to you. “Are you feeling depressed, honey?”
You looked down at your hands and nodded slowly. “Yeah,” you breathed. “I think I’m really depressed, Buck. And I feel so stupid because I don’t know why! I’m supposed to be the happy one who’s there for everyone. I wanna be there for you! You have actual shit that you’ve been through. What’s my excuse?”
He pulled you tightly into a hug. He had suspected that you were battling depression but hearing you say it outloud terrified him. “Oh baby…” he whispered, stroking your hair. “You know depression doesn’t always have a reason. You don’t have to experience something big or traumatic to feel depressed. Sometimes it just happens. It’s just the chemicals in your brain. And that doesn’t make your experience any less valid or important. The fact that I’ve been through something doesn’t mean that you have to be my glue. It doesn't mean that you can’t fall apart too.”
His words made you begin sobbing again. How was it possible that he still wanted you when he knew the truth now? He was seeing how much of a mess you were yet he was still here comforting you. “I feel like everything is so out of control,” you cried. “I wanna do my homework but I just can’t find the energy to get out of bed. I don’t have the energy to even care anymore. I just want it all to be over.” Your last sentence made Bucky’s veins go ice cold. “Y/N, I need you to tell me the truth right now, okay? A-are you thinking about hurting yourself? Do you wanna die?” He spoke, voice shaking.
“I don’t know,” you said quietly, avoiding his gaze. “I don’t really think I wanna die but… I just don’t really wanna live. I know that makes no sense.”
“I understand. It’s like you’re not thinking about killing yourself but right now it’s hard to be alive and fight. Is that why you just come home and sleep all day?”
You nodded. “Yeah. It’s easier to just sleep the pain away. Being conscious in my head has been really tiring. And I’m afraid that if this continues that I might want to hurt myself. I don’t right now but what if it gets to that point?” You looked up at him with big eyes.
Bucky squeezed you tighter like he was terrified you would disappear from his arms. “I’m not gonna let you get there. Never, okay? You’re gonna get help. And you’re gonna feel so much better. Baby you have so much life left to live and enjoy. You and me, we have a whole life together to live. So you can’t let yourself fall into this hole, okay? It’s gonna be hard but I’m gonna help you through it.”
“Y-yeah. Okay,” You sniffled. “You can go back out with the guys. I didn’t mean to ruin your time.”
He kissed the top of your head. “Oh shh. You know I was only with them to distract myself from missing you til you got here,” he laughed. “You’re my favorite person on the entire planet, baby. And I’m really happy you opened up to me because I’ve been worried sick these past few weeks. It’s like I’ve been watching you turn into a ghost of yourself.”
“I-I’m sorry,” you whispered. “I thought you didn’t notice. I thought I was hiding it well.”
He looked into your eyes and touched your cheek. “I notice every single thing about you. I know when your smiles are real or fake, okay? I know when you don’t actually eat anything and you just shove food around your plate to make it look like you are.” he paused. “Speaking of, I’m really worried about that, too. Is that part of the depression?”
You nodded. “I just never really feel hungry anymore.”
“We’re gonna work on that too. Okay honey girl?”
“Okay.”
“Good. Now can I make you something small to eat, just to start? I’m so scared for you, baby.” His eyes were full of genuine fear at the size you were.
“Something small and simple, okay? I-I’ll try to eat it.”
“That’s my girl.” Bucky left the room, returning a few minutes later with a bowl of fruit in his hand. “Here, just try to eat even a little bit, okay? Then I tell you what. I’m gonna run you a nice bath and light your favorite candles. Then we can spend the rest of the night cuddled up together watching a movie. Tomorrow we’ll start to put in the hard work but for tonight just let me comfort my girl.”
You couldn’t help but smile at his words. “That sounds perfect.”
So that’s what you did. He ran a bath and lit cinnamon scented candles and you both sat in there for a while enjoying the relaxation of each other’s presence. You spent the rest of the night marathoning halloween movies before falling asleep in his arms. The hard work was about to begin. It was gonna suck, you knew that. But maybe there really was a light to look forward to.

could you write any fanfics or headcannons about the avengers doing family stuff? like going shopping altogether? with a the reader being the daughter of tony stark and something like y/n!stark x peter parker? just fluff
Domestic Avengers Would Include . . .
It would be difficult to get all the Avengers to go shopping at once but where there’s a will, there’s a way
The hardest to convince would probably be Natasha and Bucky but they love you, so they’d join you anyway
You and Wanda would take forever in the changing rooms (forcing Peter and Vision to hold all your stuff)
Thor would go straight for the food court, marveling at all the Midgardian food
Tony would probably go to any of the tech or expensive stores
Nat would browse and window shop with Steve and Bruce
Sam and Bucky would get into some fight and would nearly be kicked out
By the time you get to the court room, Thor would have all different kinds of food and candies
(Peter has to literally drag you away from the candy at a certain point)
I think this just goes to show that if you give them the chance, the Avengers are really a family and can be domestic
They all look after each other, but especially of you and Peter
Natasha, Wanda, and Carol are like older sisters/aunts, Steve, Bruce, Thor, Vision, and Clint are like uncles, and Sam and Bucky are like older brothers
Wanda always cooks. She and Pepper would teach you how to cook
The team all fight over Wanda’s cooking
At first, Steve tried to teach you how to drive
It did not work out
Next, Nat tried to teach you
(You nearly crashed into someone that day)
Finally, Bruce taught. He’s pretty chill so it worked out
The Avengers would also help you with homework. Nat has experience with helping Clint’s kids after-all
You go down to the lab to get Tony, Bruce, and Peter’s help for math
Steve and Bucky for history
Steve would def help with art (hc he’s an artist)
Carol would help with any space related classes like Astronomy
Vision would check your grammar and punctuation and spelling (he’d edit your essays)
GOING PROM SHOPPING WITH THE AVENGERS IS CHAOTIC
they all insist on seeing yours and Peter’s outfits and everyone has an opinion
(Your wedding day will be so much worse)
Wanda almost buries you with the amount of outfits she picks out
And they get so many freaking pictures
It’s a little insane how many pictures they insist on taking
“We need one of Peter opening the door.” “We need one of Y/N coming down the stairs.” “Clint, you’re in the background, move!”
They send you off in a limo paid by Tony
You and Peter have such a sweet and fun night
They’d also definitely go to your graduation
Tony pulled some strings to get all the Avengers tickets but finding seats next to each other was a challenge
They clap and cheer the loudest
And take you out for the best ice cream
Okay okay but . . . Movie nights
Sam insists on popcorn from the movies, forcing Steve to go out and get a million bags of popcorn
Everyone takes turns choosing movies
(That backfires when Bruce chooses a nature documentary and everyone revolts)
BLANKET FORTS
SLEEPOVERS IN THE LIVING ROOM
(Which you have to force everyone to do)
Going out on the roof and Star gazing
Which means you had to force Tony and Bruce to build you a telescope
It’s worth it though
The Avengers just being the best, most supportive family you could ask for
THERES SO MUCH LOVE THERE
❤️❤️❤️

so i checked out your guidelines and you said that you like plot to be included too so i hope this isn't too much for you.
R is 11 here if that's okay with you.
can i ask you to write an avengers x teen!reader where tony adopts a kid from foster care and the team is trying to get her to open up but she locks herself in her room because she's used to moving from home to home or being abused in the system so she's scared to do anything normal like interact and stuff like that. when they showed her room on the first day she was hesitant to go in bc she's used to poor treatment. Wanda and Nat are the first ones to notice her behavior and they point it out to the rest of the team. they come up with a plan to help her but it only pushes her further away from them bc she isn't used to that much attention. they decide that when she's ready she'll come to them so one game night she tip toes downstairs and peaks in the living room to see them having a good time. wanda or vision senses her energy and she tries to silently sneak back but they invite her in and she reluctantly joins them. she isn't too familiar with the games they're playing so they teach her then afterwards they watch a bunch of movies and they're glad they can give her the family she never had.
Family
Summary: Sometimes it takes a while to find your true family.
Pairing: Avengers x teen!reader
Warnings: none
Word count: 1116
a/n: This is not too much at all! Thank you for the request :) (I’m sorry this is terrible)

Walking into an entirely new surroundings is always anxiety inducing, but it’s especially scary when the people leading you to your so called new room are the world’s mightiest heroes.
There’s two men and two women in front of her, she knows who they are, of course, but she isn’t going to bring it up. Surely they have already sensed it.
One of the men, Iron Man, or Tony, as he told her to call him, is talking constantly. His hands are moving up and down, side to side as he gestures to different rooms and what’s in them. He is walking right in front of her, creating a sort of barrier between them. Wanda on the other hand, is walking next to her, occasionally glancing down at her.
Y/N keeps her eyes on Tony’s back. She doesn’t want to look anyone in the eyes or seem too fearful by mapping out the place.
“And this here,” Tony stops walking and opens a door, “is your room.” He turns to look at her with a big grin.
Not moving, Y/N stares inside the room. The four of them keep looking at her, waiting to see her reaction, but they get none.
Tony clears her throat. “You can go in, kid.” With small steps, she goes into the room. “We know it’s a bit empty, but you just tell me whatever you need and want, and I’ll buy it.”
She doesn’t need anything. It’s not like this room will be hers for long. It’s usual for her to stay in a home for a month at best. So, it’s better to not get attached to anything or anyone.
Wanda has a frown on her face as she watches Y/N set down her tiny bag. She’s worried of the girl, but puts those feelings on the side, this is a big change after all.
“Should we leave you to settle in?” Steve speaks up when the silence starts to drag on for a long time. “Someone could come get you when dinner is ready.”
With a nod from Y/N, the four of them close the door and leave her alone with her thoughts. With no one around, she lets out a deep breath and starts inspecting the room. It’s bigger than any other room she has had, and cleaner.
It’ll definitely be harder to leave this room behind when the time eventually comes.
After two very uneventful days, Natasha and Wanda have started talking with the other Avengers how Y/N doesn’t seem to get better, even though they’re giving her plenty of space. So, they decide to try another approach.
Wanda knocks on the door with a huge smile. Some of the other team members are behind her with boxes.
Opening the door only slightly, Y/N peeks through the gap. “Hi!” Wanda waves. “We got you something, if you could open the door a bit more?” Her voice is gentle and on the quieter side.
Y/N opens the door properly. Her eyes widen when she noticed the others and all the boxes waiting there. “We bought you some furniture and decorations.” Natasha brings one of the boxes in the room. “Obviously, we don’t know for sure what you like, but I think we got some good stuff.”
She stays frozen on her spot, out of the way, staring at the others walking in and out of the room. There are so many of them at the same time. Y/N doesn’t understand what they’re doing. Is this a test?
In fear of being punish for a wrong reaction, she decides to not react at all. Her hands are shaking behind her back, but she doesn’t let them see her fear. She just stares at them with a stoic expression.
“What do you think?” Wanda asks once the things are set. “You can obviously change things around if they aren’t to your liking, but this is a good start, yeah?” When Y/N just nods mutely, Wanda’s smile falls.
A silence falls over the room. Very uncomfortable and heavy silence. “Well,” Natasha clears her throat. “We’ll let you be.”
When the door closes, Wanda and Natasha glance at each other. “That didn’t work out the way I wanted.” Wanda mumbles. “I really thought that’d help her get out of her shell.”
“Maybe we just need to let her be.”
She huffs. “I know, it’s just so difficult when I can basically hear her worries.”
“It’ll happen, lets just do it on her terms.”
A week goes by where it almost seems like Y/N pulled into her shell even more. She wouldn’t speak to anyone, or even want to physically be in the same room as someone else. One of the team members always had to go knock on her door and leave a plate of food in front of it, so she would eat.
Most of the team got back into their regular routines, though their worry stayed the same, but they couldn’t stand outside her door forever. Wanda and Natasha would talk to her through the door at times, even if the conversation was fully one sided.
Today, the Avengers decided to spend the evening playing different board games. It’s not unusual for them, as they like to do bonding activities together.
Tony knocked on Y/N’s door to ask her to join them, but only got a small head shake as an answer. However, after an hour and a half, Y/N opens the door carefully.
She sneaks towards the living room, being cautious not to make any noise. Stopping right before the room, she peaks in. All the team members are laughing and shouting together.
Y/N takes deep breaths to calm herself down, these kind of situations still make her incredibly nervous. Suddenly, Wanda turns to look at her.
Her eyes turn wide and she is just about to turn away to go back to her room’s safety, but Wanda speaks up before she can. “Hey, sweetheart. Do you want to join us?” Now some of the others turn to look at her.
With hesitance, Y/N starts walking towards them. They’re surprised by this, but try their best not to show it. “We’re playing Monopoly. You ever played it?” Tony asks as Y/N sits between Wanda and Natasha.
“No.”
“That’s alright, we’ll teach you.” Wanda smiles, putting one more pawn to the board.
Y/N stays quiet for quite some time during the game night, but when the evening goes on, she starts initiating conversation more and even leans on Wanda’s side at times.
Maybe this family is different after all, it certainly isn’t ordinary.

Hi!! I love your writing, so how about prompt 9 and 16 with Nat?
9. “Don’t panic, but I think there’s someone in our house”
16. “Don’t touch me! GET OFF”
A/n: my first prompt writing, let me know what you think :)
You were laying in bed with your head on your girlfriends pillow and your guys cat curled up to you. Natasha was on a mission for the last two weeks and there were one and a half more to come. You hated it when she was gone, especially since you guys moved into such a secluded house, it felt extremely lonely there. But you loved the fact that your girlfriend was saving the world so you never said anything. It was around 2 a.m. now and you just couldn’t fall asleep, you tossed and turned around until Liho came and lays down next to you.
You were about to doze off when you heard a crack making you jump awake again. It was loud enough to be on the inside and you were 100% sure that you closed all the windows which meant that it couldn’t have been the wind. Another sound was heard from the first floor making you jump again before turning to the cat. “Don’t panic, but I think there’s somebody in our house” you mumbled to the blob of black fur next to you but only received a purring as a reply. “Great to hear that you’re also concerned” you rolled your eyes before standing up to investigate where the sound was coming from.
With your phone in hand you waddled downstairs, turning every light on that you had passed. Your phone was on call mode, Natasha contact already open, just in case. It was kinda funny to you how your first instinct was always calling her, not the police or Tony, who lived like 8 minutes away when he flew with his suit and was currently home. No, it was her because you only felt save when she was there.
You looked around and went through almost all the rooms but there was nobody. “Well, I guess it was my imagination then. Right?” You whispered to yourself. You decided to drink some water while you were already in the kitchen. With your back towards the door you looked outside the window, watching how the wind blew through the trees and a sense of calmness overtook you.
At least until you felt an arm around your waist. You immediately let go of the glass and yelped as you started to hit around yourself. “Don’t touch me! GET OFF” you screamed once you felt yourself being turned around. Terrible scenarios building in your mind as you cried out for them to let you go. As soon as you were turned the grip on you disappeared and you felt the person take a step back.
“It’s alright, it’s okay. It’s just me love” The moment you heard the voice you calmed down, taking a moment to breath before doing anything. It was the moment you also noticed that you had tears streaming down your face. She repeatedly mumbled reassuring phrases until you started to talk.
“You asshole! I thought somebody was going to kill me” you whisper screamed at her, hitting her with the kitchen towel that was behind you. She couldn’t help but giggle as you kept on hitting her with the fabric.
“Im sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you that bad. But it was kinda funny” she grinned and hugged you tightly, her hand rubbing your back while yours wrapped around your neck.
“Why are you here already?” You asked into her neck, your hand playing with the back of her shirt.
“What? Not enough time to hide your side chick?” She laughed as she squeezed your waist, making clear that she was joking. “We found the suspect sooner and I couldn’t wait to come home. Steve snores like 10 men” you giggled before placing a kiss on her neck.
“I’m happy you’re back, I really am but I’m so tired” you sighed and placed the side of your head on her shoulder. The next thing you let out was a yelp as your girlfriend picked you up and carried you up the stairs and placed you on the bed. “Thank you” you mumbled with a small smile as you went under the blanket.
You watched as the redhead greeted the cat before changing into some sleepwear. “Now move over, I gotta cuddle my girl. You’ve had her for the last two weeks” she said to Liho and poked his belly making him stand up and lay on your other side. “Thank you very much” you couldn’t help but laugh at their antics.
“I’m so happy you’re back” you whispered as you nearly laid on top of her.
“I’m happy to be back too” she placed a couple of kisses on your lips as her hand rubbed your bare back. You chased after her lips making her smile but keep kissing you nonetheless.
“I love you, but if you ever scare me like that again you’re sleeping on the couch”
“Yes ma’am”
“Good, now give a kiss and then cuddle me”
“Yes ma’am” you kissed again before you turned to your side so she could spoon you.
“I love you too by the way” she kissed the back of your neck before turning off the light to let you sleep.

Cap-IM Rec Week - Better Together Monday
Welcome to @cap-ironman Rec Week 2024! I've got some fun lists planned for this week, starting with this one, which features some of my favorite fics where, via assorted shenanigans, Steve and Tony are now sharing their thoughts, feelings, or personal space.
So basically, stories where they've been forced together into a magical "We Will Get Along" shirt.
inside my shell-shaped mind by Mizzy (@mizzy2k) (616, Teen And Up Audiences, 18,217 words)
Summary: Before Ikaris of the Eternals died along with the rest of his people, he gave Tony Stark the power of the Uni-Mind, a power Tony used in order to help stop the Horde from destroying the universe. The Magistrati are the Living Tribunal's enforcers of Universal Law. They are the judges, jurors, and advocates of the universe. And Tony’s Uni-Mind ability has been judged too dangerous: he must be put to death. Steve thinks he has a solution. To save Tony's life, he must undergo an intimate version of the Uni-Mind known as the Gann Josin, a type of bonding that creates a mental union between two people...and makes them lifelong soulmates. Well, it's probably not the oddest way to save someone's life, but it's certainly not going to be easy. Especially when Tony seems determined that the bond should be broken, as soon as possible. (Set just after War of the Realms #4.) Also available as a podfic read by Pywren (@phyrrhicvictory)
Machines and Marvels by rainbowninja167 (@rainbowtitania) (MCU, Teen And Up Audiences, 23,443 words)
Summary: "The only future in which you have a hope of defeating Thanos is one where the Avengers remain whole and undivided. Do you understand? No matter what else happens, it’s imperative that the Avengers stay together." “Wait. What the fuck are the Avengers?” Or: In an alternate timeline where the Avengers never formed, Steve and Tony need a crash course in team bonding. Stephen Strange just had to take that literally.
More below the cut!
Breathless by @kandisheek (MCU, Explicit, 36,966 words)
Summary: How do you even start a conversation like that? Hey, sorry, but last night you sort of jerked me off through our bond and now I know the serum makes you shoot off in like two seconds, oops. Wherein Tony can feel everything Steve feels and it makes things very awkward.
made to make you blue by @gottalovev (MCU, Explicit, 26,022 words)
Summary: Steve, drunk for the first time since the serum, hits on Tony. It's everything Tony's ever dreamt about, but he refuses to have sex with a drunk Steve who can't truly consent. They do kiss, though, and Tony stays the night. The morning after brings a misunderstanding of disastrous proportion, where both men wrongly assume the other is uninterested. Life gets extremely complicated when Enchantress, mad at Thor, casts a spell that links people who love each other together, letting them feel the other's pain.
read my mind by orphan_account (MCU, Explicit, 6,691 words)
Summary: A run in with Loki gives Tony the ability to read Steve's thoughts. Unbeknownst to Loki, it actually brings them closer together.
Never Too Late for Love by @sineala (Ults, Explicit, 98,060 words)
Summary: Steve has always believed that a soulbond is a blessing -- a rare and beautiful miracle, joining the thoughts and feelings of two people forever, from the first time they touch. Steve knows he's not going to be one of the lucky ones. He knows Gail isn't his soulmate. But he loves her, even if they're not soulmates, and he's going to do right by her. After the war's over, he's going to marry her, and they're going to settle down. They'll buy a house. They'll have children. He'll see his family again. Maybe Bucky will live next door. It's going to be a good life. He doesn't need a soulbond. He'll be fine without one. Then Steve wakes up sixty years in the future to find that his wonderful life has moved on without him. His family is long dead. His fiancée married his best friend. And the only purpose he has left is leading the Ultimates, a misbegotten team of superheroes with flaws too numerous to count. Steve hates everything about the future -- but most of all he detests Tony, flashy and flirtatious, who embodies everything Steve hates about a world he never wanted to live in. And, oh, yeah, Steve has a soulmate after all: Tony fucking Stark. Also available as a podfic read by Cathalinareads (@cathalinaheart)
one foot in (and one foot back) by kehinki (MCU, Explicit, 32,479 words)
Summary: This isn't the worst thing that's ever happened to Tony, but it's in the top five.
When I Think (Oh, it Terrifies Me) by celli (MCU, Explicit, 8,642 words)
Summary: Look, some mornings you wake up and little green men are invading New York City; some mornings you wake up and you can hear Captain America's voice in your head. Tony has been an Avenger long enough that he saves his freakout for important things. Also available as a podfic read by RsCreighton (@rosecreighton)
A Meeting of Minds by Nix (CrimsonQuills) (616, Explicit, 17,770 words)
Summary: As it turns out, the Extremis hadn't quite finished rewriting Tony's brain. The only potential fix has...consequences.

My little love
chapter 12
Pairing: bucky barnes x enhanced!reader
Word count: 4.1k
Warning: canon level violence, mentions of blood, use of syringe/needle, choking, horrible living conditions (especially for a child), sad everyone, crying, hurt Steve
A/N: SURPRISE!!! I wrote this in like a day so if it’s not great I’m sorry but I think you’ll like it. It was also not my intention to release it so soon but I couldn’t help myselfWe finally meet sweet baby boy Barnes aka bubba. His relationship with Lottie is definitely something we will look into in the next chapter. I’d really love to hear what you think!
Series masterlist
Ch 11
The jet had taken you to the helicarrier. It was expected that this mission would be just as big as the mission in which you found Lottie. Now you readied yourself to give hydra some more hell as you entered the place that Bucky had suffered the most in. Your thoughts were mostly on the other Barnes child that you were yet to meet and hoped was alright. At the last raid you had only gone into the facility once it had been cleared. Your job was as the team medic. This time you’d be fighting alongside the team.
You were paired up with Steve after Bucky argued that you’d be better off with him. The truth was that it would probably make him more reckless and you had to make sure he made it back home. The cold wind hit your face as the jet’s door opened. Steve did a quick check with everyone and then you were off in the middle of the frozen unknown.
Tony, Sam, Vision and Rhodey did a quick fly over as the rest of the team pushed forward. There were only a few guards that were taken out quickly and quietly. Steve looked to you once Tony disabled the security to open up the metal door. The element of surprise is the only thing you had on your side, hopefully. As soon as the door opened Bucky stepped up and walked in first. You could see it was hard for him being back here. He directed Clint, Wanda and Nat in one direction while he and Thor went in another. You and Steve took the main elevator down into the deep belly of the building that was built into a mountain. It was where hydra kept the winter soldier and no doubt where Bucky’s other child would be.
As soon as the door to the elevator opens Steve stands in front of you, shield up, ready to protect you if needed. You hold up one of the guns you brought with you. As you inch forward you see two long hallways full of doors that most likely lead to cells. Steve puts two fingers up to his eyes and then points toward one hallway and then points at you before doing the same and pointing at himself. You nod and start walking fast, peeking through the small windows in order to see inside.
Empty. One after another each cell is empty and your heart sinks. An alarm breaks the ever growing silence of the hall previously filled with only your footsteps.
“Have you found anything?” Tony’s voice crackles through the speakers. “It’s getting interesting up here.”
“Nothing yet.”
“Empty on my side.” You reply.
“You have people heading your way, Y/L/N. So do you Rogers.” Nat informs you.
You get to the end of the hall where there is one last door but it has no window. Pressing your ear you don’t hear anything but you have to be sure. You run two fingers along the edge of the door where the inner mechanism of the lock is and you hear it click away. The door opens easily enough and it leads to another dimly lit hallway. Flashbacks to the day you found the three boys run vividly in your mind.
“Secret passageway, I’m heading in.” You announce on the comms.
“Y/L/N, wait for me you don’t know if it’s a trap.”
“I can’t do that, Rogers. You know what happened last time.” You reply as you walk in.
There are less doors here and you make quick work of checking the other cells. As you get to the end you find one that doesn't have a window. You think it’s another hallway so you unlock the door and take a cautious step inside.
“I think I found the cell he’s being kept in.”
“I’m on my way.” Bucky answers in a hurry.
You take a small flashlight out of one of your pockets and turn it on. As you look around you see a water and food bowl on the floor as if they kept a dog in there instead of a person. There’s no bed, just a few blankets on the floor. There’s a toilet that looks like it doesn’t even work and nowhere for light to shine through. There’s a camera in the top corner and if you line up with it the room looks exactly how it did in the video feed the previous night. There’s a metal tube running along the wall furthest from the door with a chain attached to it. The cuff on the end looks so small and you swallow thickly at the thought. The chain scrapes against the concrete floor lightly and you remember that he can make himself invisible. You step in a little bit closer and kneel.
“Hi sweetie. I know you’re in here. I’m not gonna hurt you but I gotta be able to see you. Can you let me see you?” Nothing, for a second you thought you were talking to an empty room and then you heard it, a small breath. “I promise you won’t be in trouble if you let me see you. Would you like to get out of here? You can come home with me.”
A little flicker of something appears before you and then it’s gone. You smile at the Not so empty room.
“Would you like that? To have a home? I have a baby at home. She would probably love to have someone to play with.”
“A baby?” A little voice fills the room and just like that you see him.
It takes everything in you to not break down and cry. He looked just like Lottie had when you found her. Severely underweight, to the point that you could see all of his ribs, sunken eyes and he looked exhausted. His hair though was down around his shoulders and a bit lighter than Bucky’s, and his eyes were the exact same shade as the other two Barnes. He was shivering since he only had some ripped up pants that were a bit too big.
“Well she isn’t a baby, baby. But she’s my baby. You could be my baby too. I’ll take care of you.”
“No one taked care of me before.” He responds, his voice slightly shaky.
You close your eyes for a second as a few tears break free and then he gasps. The chain that held him captive scrapes against the floor and you open your eyes to see shadows on the wall. When you turn around there are hydra agents behind you ready to gun you down. The room is filled with gunfire, bullets that never reach you fall to the floor as you stand between yourself and the boy you protecting.
You turn your own gun on them, taking the group down quickly. Turning you can’t see him again but you can still see the chain.
“Y/L/N are you ok?”
“I’m fine but I need back up. I found him.”
You kneel again and unlock the cuff from his ankle and he reappears. His eyes go wide as he flexed his now free ankle.
“I’m going to pick you up ok, can you hold on tight for me?”
He nods his head and wraps his arms around your neck and his legs around your waist. You take the blanket that had been on the floor and wrap him up in it before turning your metal bracers into a shield for his back and head. With that in place you head out of the room. A speaker comes on and a man starts speaking Russian. Suddenly the grip around your neck gets tighter.
When you pull back you notice that the boy’s eyes have glazed over, as if he’s not in control and although his hands are smaller he still has the super soldier serum running through his veins. There’s no doubt that hydra would have found a way to enhance him even more.
“Y/N, where are you? They spoke similar words than the ones used to trigger me before. I’m not sure who they’re controlling. Can you get somewhere safe?” Bucky’s worried voice came over the comms but you couldn’t answer because you were being choked by a very strong child.
You feel around the belt you had on until you find the pocket you’re looking for and take out a syringe. The needle goes into his little arm and the grip around your throat loosens. His head rests against your shoulder and you cough as you try to catch your breath.
“Y/N? Can you hear me? Does anyone have eyes on her?”
“I’m here.” You groan out as you start to head toward the main door. “I’m really going to need back up.”
“Duck.” Steve says from the doorway and you do as he says just as he sends his shield flying. Two more hydra agents fall behind you. “Is that him?”
You nod as you wrap your arms around his tiny frame.
“Let’s get you both out of here.”
Steve’s blood was on your hands.
You weren’t sure exactly how it happened. He had thrown the shield in your direction so that you could keep pushing forward when an explosion rocked the side of the building. A dozen or so men appeared out of nowhere and you were left with Steve, his shield and an unconscious child in your hands. Steve fought with everything he had to give you an out. As soon as you saw Sam you gave him the sleeping child and ran back to help Steve. Somehow it was too late. He was gravely injured, the last time you saw him that bad he went toe to toe with Bucky in a helicarrier. You patched him up as best as you could and Tony flew him back to the jet.
Now you sat in the medbay of the helicarrier waiting for an update on him. Your leg bounces uncontrollably as the anxiety of not knowing if he’ll make it takes over. The others are also waiting with you. Nat and Clint sit side by side. Wanda and Vision stood against a wall while Sam and Thor sat next to you. Tony was somewhere looking through the information retrieved from the now demolished hydra base. Bruce was monitoring the unconscious Barnes child you’d saved and Bucky was sitting with him.
Or he had been, Bucky stood by the door and waved you over once you looked up.
“He’s awake and crying. He keeps asking for the nice lady.” He tells you quietly. You turn back unsure of what to do.
“Go, I’ll let you know once we have an update.”
“Thanks Nat.” You said and headed toward the lab down the hall.
Bucky stopped you and held up your overnight bag.
“Maybe you should clean up a bit. I think he’d freak out a bit more if he saw you like this.”
“You’re right. I’ll be quick.”
*******
Fifteen minutes later you looked more presentable, more you. As you got closer to the lab you could still hear him crying while Bucky tried to sooth him. The moment the glass doors slid open both pairs of electric blue eyes were on you. One of them however, we're red and puffy. He cleaned his tears with the back of his hand as he sniffled.
“Hi, why are you crying?” You said as you got closer to the bed he was on.
“I’m sorry.”
“Why are you sorry, honey?” You ask once you sit down next to him. Bucky stands and gives you some space.
“I hurted you.”
“But you didn’t mean to.”
“The bad man said to. He has my baby.”
You freeze at his words, it couldn’t be what you thought it was. Bucky seemed to have heard the same thing because he walked back into the small space.
“What do you mean your baby, bub?”
“She’s little, like this.” He held his arm like he was holding a newborn. “If I’m bad he hurts her. If I’m good he lets me hold her. Haven’t holded her in a long time.”
“Ok, how about you rest and we will try to find your baby.”
“Can she be your baby too?” He looks up at you hoping you’ll say yes.
“Of course she can.” You run your hand over his hair. “Why don’t you lay down now and I’ll stay with you.”
He does as he’s told and he grabs your hand. You hum a lullaby as he drifts off to sleep. Bruce walks in shortly after he starts snoring softly holding up the dna kit. After he takes the swab he needs he walks back to his side. While you wait for the results which you know will say Bucky is the father, you head to the hallway.
“Hey, Steve is stable. He’ll just need a few days to rest and he’ll be good as new.” Nat says once the glass doors are closed. “How is the little man doing?”
“He apologized for hurting me. But I’m worried, he said he had a baby and that the bad man would hurt the baby if he didn’t do what they said.”
“Do you think there’s another Barnes baby out there?”
“No, I hope not. Maybe the baby he’s talking about is Lottie. They could have put both of them in cryo and that’s why he can’t remember when he last saw her.”
“Let’s hope it’s that. I’ll give you guys some space. We should be back home in about thirty minutes.”
“Thanks Nat.” You say as she walks away.
As soon as she’s gone you bury your face in Bucky’s chest and cry. It had been a very overwhelming day and on top of that you saw your best friend almost die. Doing what he does best and sacrificing himself not only for you but for Bucky’s kids.
“It’s ok sugar, let it out.” Bucky whispers as he moves his hand up and down your back gently.
Bucky had called your dad before you landed and asked him to not bring Lottie to the hanger because of Steve. Unfortunately Ed informed him that Lottie was already aware, or at least he thought so. She had another vision and kept asking for Steve.
Once the jet landed the medical team moved Steve into one of the rooms in the medbay. You and Bruce moved your own patient into another room. The rest of the team went either to the medbay to get checked out or to their own apartments to clean up and rest. It didn’t take long for your dad to find you watching over your new son, the dna match was positive. Although you didn’t need it to know that this sweet boy was Bucky’s child.
“So I have a grandson now.”
“Seems like it.” You look up to give him a sad, tired smile.
“Come here my sweet girl.” Your dad hugged you tight. “Bucky told me what happened. Are you ok?”
“Physically yeah, but to see someone I care for hurt like that… It's just overwhelming. I’ll be alright though. As soon as Steve is awake I’ll be fine.”
“He will be. From what Bucky explained, the serum will help him recover. Why don’t you try and rest? I can stay here if you want me too.”
“I appreciate it but I can’t leave him. He knows me, Bucky and Bruce. I think if he saw a stranger here he would freak out.” You say as you look over your shoulder at the little boy.
“Ok well Charlotte was also asking for you. She wants to see her mama.”
You look back up at your dad, overwhelmed by everything and unsure of what to do.
“Go see Lottie, she’s the only one awake and she wants to see you. Your friends will let you know when Steve is up and I’ll stay here. The minute he starts to wake up I’ll get you.”
“Ok, yeah. I’ll do that. Thanks dad.” You hug him again and head back to your apartment.
Bucky and Lottie were in the living room. He was holding on to her as he cooed sweet reassuring words at the toddler’s worry about her uncle Steve. Still Lottie sniffled, not understanding that Steve needed to rest for a little bit longer.
“Hey.” You say softly.
Both father and daughter’s attention goes to you. Lottie slips out of Bucky’s lap and runs to you. Her little arms wrap around one of your legs. It’s obvious she’s been crying for a while, her cheeks were tinted pink and her eyes were red and puffy.
“Mama, Steeb owie.” She said as she pointed toward her side, the same place Steve had been injured.
“I know sweet Angel.” You picked her up and kissed her cheeks “Stevie is sleeping now but you’ll see him soon.”
“Steeb is night night?”
“Yes, Steve is night night.”
“Bubba home?” She asks, her blue eyes wide as she looks at you.
You look over at Bucky who just shrugs quickly and then nods towards the door.
“Maybe he’ll like having someone closer to his age around.”
“Yes, Bubba's home.”
She points at the door and smiles. Bucky stands and walks towards the door, opening it and letting you go first.
When you get to the medbay the first thing you notice is your dad as well as Nat and Clint having a conversation. It stops when you get closer to them. With a guilt ridden expression your dad turns to you.
“Sweetheart,” he says when you’re close enough. “I’m sorry I messed up.”
“What do you mean?”
“I went to the bathroom and when I came back he was gone.”
“What do you mean he was gone?”
“He just disappeared. I don’t know what happened but I swear I didn’t even hear the door open or close.” He looked over your shoulder at Bucky. “I really am sorry.”
“Take her,” you turn to Bucky and hand Lottie over. “This is my fault. I forgot to tell you he can turn invisible, he might still be in there.”
You walk to the door and open it slowly and sure enough the bed is empty. The door closes softly and you make your way to the bed. Your hand feels around the bed and sure enough there’s no one there. Without much of an option you look around the room but don’t find anything so you sit on the floor.
“Hey bub, it’s just me again. Will you let me see you? I promise you’re safe and no one is going to hurt you. I’m sorry I wasn’t here when you woke up. I bet it was scary being alone in a different place.”
You still don’t see him but you feel him slide into your lap. His head rests against your shoulder and you follow the invisible form until you find his hand. He squeezes your hand and you can feel his small fingers trying to intertwine with yours.
“When you’re ready, my baby is here and she wants to meet you.”
It took a few minutes but sure enough, starting at his toes he became fully visible. His uncertain blue eyes looked up at you.
“Can I see the baby now?” He asks quietly.
“Of course.”
As if on queue Bucky opens the door and steps aside so that Lottie can walk in. She was more on the cautious side as she walked in, like she knew she had to be gentle. The sweet boy in your lap sits up and blinks a few times before looking up at you.
“Hi baby.” He says as he gets up and walks toward Lottie.
He holds his hand out and Lottie takes it and they just look at each other. Studying each other’s faces for a moment before he hugs her. Lottie brings her hand up to his cheek and pats it and he starts crying while holding her tighter.
“Hey bub it’s ok.” Bucky crouches down and comforts him. “Lottie is your baby sister. She’s been waiting for you.”
“My baby.” He says in between sniffles.
You and Bucky trade another look over the embracing children. Both of you were still confused. You knew Lottie would know of him because of her vision but you needed to know how he really knew her.
“Hey, Steve’s awake.” Nat said after poking her head in. Her eyes softened as she looked at the two kids.
“Hey sweet Angel, wanna go see Steve?”
“Steeb up mama?” Lottie asked once they let each other go.
“Yeah, let’s go see him. You can come too bubs.” You get up and open your arms. He looks between you and Lottie already walking out happily and wraps his arms around your neck again. You tense a bit but get up and walk out, following Bucky.
“Steeb!”
“Hi sweetheart.” Steve says from the hospital bed he was. He tries to put on his game face for her and you. Bucky picked her up and sat her down next to Steve.
“You have to be gentle, Lottie. Remember Steve had an owie.”
“Owie.” She whispered as she gently touched the right side of his midsection.
“Did I hurted him?” The boy in your arms whispered in your ear. You knew both Steve and Bucky heard him.
“No sweet boy, you didn’t hurt him.”
“Hi bud. My name is Steve, do you have a name?”
He turned in Steve’s direction, sad blue eyes taking in the scene of Lottie giving him a hug.
“Soldat.” He said softly.
The three of you were saddened after hearing his answer. Bucky turned away from you as he fought back tears. Steve cleared his throat and you held him tighter.
“Would you like a name? Just like Lottie has a name.” You say.
He just nods at you, eyes a bit brighter for a moment.
“Ok, we’ll think of a good name.” You kiss his temple and he pulls back scared at the contact. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare you.”
He doesn’t say anything, instead he chooses to hide his face in the crook of your neck.
“How about Marcus?” Bucky said as he sat down on the couch.
Lottie and her brother were inseparable. It had been hard enough to get her to leave Steve’s room but there was no way she would leave him behind. Both of them were currently sleeping, sharing her bed and snuggling.
“I don’t know if he doesn't look like a Marcus. What about Thomas?”
“Sam’s ego would get bigger than it already is, pass.”
You were laying down on the couch with your legs hanging over the armrest. Your dad was gone and the compound was quiet. It was very late at night but neither you nor Bucky could sleep even though you were exhausted.
“What about Henry? I’ve always loved that name.”
“Grant.” Bucky added. “Henry Grant Barnes?”
You tilted your head back a bit to look at him. His eyes were already on you as he waited for an answer.
“I like it. Hopefully he will too.” You say just before the door to Lottie’s room opens and closes again.
A semitransparent child stands at the edge of the entrance of the living room. The back of his hand wiping away tears.
“Hey, bub what’s wrong?” Bucky asked.
“The bad man took me away. He said I couldn’t see my baby again.” He started crying again as he walked closer to Bucky. He was still hesitant to trust any men but he was slowly opening up to Bucky.
“C’mere.” Bucky opened his arms, his son cautiously walked even closer to Bucky and let his father pull him into his lap. “It was just a bad dream bub. We aren’t going to let anyone hurt you or Lottie again.”
Two pairs of sad blue eyes looked at each other. One of them blinked owlishly as they fought against sleep.
“The bad man can’t get me?”
“No, we won’t let him.”
“Ok.” The sweet little boy replied before laying his head against Bucky’s chest and closing his eyes. Quickly falling asleep in the comfort of his father’s arms.
Bucky knew the next few weeks and even months wouldn’t be easy. You knew it too, especially if they already had him ready to follow orders with a few words. For Bucky the experience had been traumatic so he can’t even imagine what it would be for someone so young. It was all he knew. So of course he clung to the first person that showed him any kindness and luckily it had been you.
You both knew that whatever came next would be challenging but you were willing to fight to make sure both kids never had to experience anything as horrible as hydra again.

Injured in love
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader
Summary: Reader lies to the doctor, so she can see Bucky in the hospital.
Word Count: 720
A/N: Hey everyone! I hope you are okay and having a good time. Hope you enjoy.
Masterlist
The others were on a mission, and you were alone at the compound right now, so you were having a movie marathon in the living room.
You have just watched your third movie when out of nowhere you heard that the elevator door opened. You looked behind and saw how the other avengers walked out of the elevator, but one was missing.
“Where is Bucky?” You immediately asked as you jogged to the others.
“What about a hello first.” Tony joked.
“He is at the hospital” you heard Steve say and began to worry.
“What happened?”
“Bucky got shot while we were fighting against the HYDRA agents.” You didn’t hear what Steve said next because you were in so much worry. You needed to see him as soon as possible. In a rush you started to put on your shoes and took your keys and ran out of the compound. As you drove to the hospital you were so worried and scared. Bucky means so much to you, you can’t lose him. A tear ran down your cheek with these thoughts. No, you shouldn’t think of that now. He has been through so much, a bullet won’t kill him. You saw the hospital in front of you and took the first parking spot you could see. You ran as fast as you could to the building.
You walked to the reception “I am here for James Buchanan Barnes he- he should be here, he- he got… shot.” You stuttered.
“Hey, it’s okay, I have to look at which station he is.” the lady said and looked at the computer in front of her.
“He is at the third floor, you have to report to this station there and ask how he is. I don’t have any information here.” You thanked her and hurried to the elevator.
“Hello, I am here for James Buchanan Barnes is he okay?” You asked the first doctor you could see.
“I’m sorry but I can’t give you any information unless you are a family member or his girlfriend.” The doctor said and you were quiet for a moment.
“Are you a family member or his girlfriend?” The doctor asked again because you didn’t answer him.
“Yes, I am his girlfriend” you lied. Girlfriend that’s so funny because you are just his best friend who has a crush on him.
“Okay, good. He is resting now, we got the bullet out and he is stable.”
“Can I see him?”
“Yes, you can he is in room 13.”
“Thank you.”
“I’ll be coming in later to check on him.” He told you and you walked to the room Bucky was staying in.
You took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
“Doll” Bucky said when you opened the door and you rushed to him.
“How are you, Buck?” You asked him and sat on the chair next to his bed.
“Better now that you are here.” He said and made you blush.
“Bucky”
“You don’t have to worry, I’m fine doll.” Bucky took your hand and squeezed it.
“It’s not that easy not to worry.” It really wasn’t easy especially when he was lying in a hospital bed and had been operated.
“I know doll, I’m sorry.” Bucky gave you a soft smile.
“Tell me about what you were doing when I was on the mission.” He asked you to help you not to worry so much.
“Not much, you know…. I missed you.”
“You missed me?” Bucky asked.
“Of course, I did.” You said and made him smile.
“I missed you too.”
A knock on the door interrupted your conversation. The doctor you talked with came in and said that Bucky is stable and that he needed to stay that night.
Before he walked out of the room the doctor turned around and said to Bucky, “Your partner can stay with you.” Bucky looked at you with a confused look, then looked back to the doctor.
“Oh, she is not… actually that would be nice.” Bucky smiled and the doctor nodded at him.
When the doctor closed the door Bucky turned to you “So I’m your boyfriend now?” He smirked.
“Sorry, he wouldn’t let me in except if I’m your girlfriend.”
“It’s okay, I’m glad you are here.”

oh aww i love this trope hehe, i’m actually planning a scene like this further down the line in egem 💖 but i’m happy to write something for stevie too!!
i’m imagining you’re kind of like his apprentice. you’re new to the team and he feels very responsible for keeping an eye on you and making sure you’re safe. maybe you’ve been a little off all day and he even stops you at one point during training, “everything okay, y/n? you look a little out of it.”
you assure him you’re fine and do your best to hide your pounding headache and building fever. you barely eat a thing at lunch, your appetite completely absent. he raises an eyebrow from across the table as he watches you poking at your food with your fork. leaving the dining hall, he again stops you with a gentle hand on your back. “you sure you’re alright? you’re a little warm,” he comments. totally giving concerned Team Dad 🥺🫶 but you wave hum off again.
next is a team meeting in a conference room. you barely say a thing, just trying to keep yourself upright in your chair. steve’s watching you with concern the whole time. at one point he mouths, “you okay?” he motions to the door questioningly, asking if you need to step out. you shake your head and dismiss him again.
the meeting concludes and everyone rises from their chairs. as you do, your vision begins to black out as you stumble and barely catch yourself against the table, your knees crumbling beneath you. “woah!” clint says from beside you. “y/n!” wanda exclaims from across the room. everyone’s looking at you as steve makes his way over in seconds.
he crouched down right beside you and reaches out his arms, helping to steady you. “hey, hey, okay. let’s just take a moment.”
the rest of the team are backing up, letting him do his thing and take care of you. they all know he’ll insist upon being the one who helps and cares for you. “sorry,” you mumble weakly. “i don’t know what happened, i just—”
“no, no, it’s okay,” he cuts you off as he brushes your hair back from your face. “oh doll, you’re burning up. here, let’s get you up to your quarters so you can lay down.”
“you need any help, cap?” tony asks from behind you.
steve shakes his head. “no, i’ll keep an eye on her. could you cancel the rest of my agenda for the day? she needs someone to stay with her, especially if she might pass out.”
he helps you back to your room, asking multiple times if you need to be carried. he settles you in bed and gets you everything you need to be comfy: blankets, pillows, water, a fan, some snacks. he sits with you and takes your temperature, holding the wand in your mouth for you and gazing at you gently 🥺 “a hundred and one. you should try to get some rest, sweetheart,” he tells you. he sits on the edge of your bed and holds your hand til you fall asleep, then waits out in your living quarters just in case you need anything.
gahhh i just want him 🥺 soft safe protector, so attentive and caring.

Tony Stark x reader
Welcome Home
Tony was exhausted and most of all he was missing you more than anything.
Being on a mission with Steve and Bucky was mentally taxing, especially when he had to listen to them bicker every day.
But now they were finally on their way home. Tony felt safe leaving you in the care of Bruce but he felt safer when he was by your side to make sure you were happy.
Tony had known you for a long time now, ever since you were five.
But one day you were injured in an accident, and you were never the same after it. Tony had two options, let his friend waste away in a hospital by herself or let her live with the avengers where she would have the best medical care in the world.
It was an easy choice.
"How do you think Y/N will go when Loki joins the team?" Steve asked as they were a few minutes out from the tower.
"I haven't talked to her about it yet, but I'm sure she'll be okay. She just needs to get used to having a new person around." Tony replied as Steve nodded.
"Well, I know she'll be ecstatic that you're back home." Steve said making Tony smile.
They finally arrived home and Tony sighed, he felt exhausted.
The jet landed on the roof and he saw you waiting there with Bruce, he chuckle softly seeing Bruce having to hold you back.
The door opened and you ran as fast as you could towards Tony, you jumped onto him as he laughed and wrapped his arms around you.
"I'm so happy to see you." He whispered as you both hugged each other tightly.
"Do I get a hug too?" You heard Bucky say as you laughed and ran to him next, giving him a big hug.
You made sure to not leave Steve out either, you were just so happy to have them all back.
Tony knew that if you could talk you would be listing off everything you got up to while he was gone.
But he was sure you would catch him up later.
You held tightly onto Tony's hand as everyone went into the tower.
"I really need to freshen up." Tony groaned as he rubbed his neck.
Bucky and Steve went to go clean up as well, and Tony knew you wouldn't leave his side.
You sat on his bed while he shower and talked to you through the open door.
You were just so ecstatic to have him back.
Tony emerged from the bathroom in fresh clothes and you ran up to him and hugged him again.
He chuckled and wrapped his arms around you.
"Come on, sweetie. Let's go have lunch and talk." Tony said taking your hand again.
You ran forward and dragged Tony along making him laugh.
You made it downstairs to see Bucky and Steve already there. You ran up to them both and gave them a hug again.
"I missed you too, sweetheart." Steve whispered as he hugged you tightly.
You sat down at the table and Tony got some lunch ready for everyone while he talked to Bruce.
"Everything okay while I was gone?" Tony asked as Bruce smiled softly.
"Yeah, she had a few moments where she was scared you weren't coming back but I made sure to reassure her." Bruce said as Tony nodded.
"Thank you for looking after her." Tony said making Bruce smile.
Tony brought lunch over and sat beside you.
"So, how about after lunch we put on a movie and you tell me eveyrhring I missed?" He said making you smile and nod excitedly.

-Chapter 9: The Avengers' Therapist-
Bisexual Female Reader x The Avengers
Rated M for eventual sexual themes
1.2K Words
My Masterlist for Previous Chapters. Please read disclaimer in Ch 1.
You honestly had forgotten about the whole run-in with Dr. Reynolds because work got really busy over the next week.
Some good news was that all of the Avengers passed their evaluations. Wanda had been especially worried about the results. She had admitted to not being the most cooperative, but you knew Bucky and Nat, even Tony, always seemed to be on their worst behavior.
Your boss knocked gently on the door to your small office. She shut the door softly behind her.
"Have you seen this?" she asked, taking a seat in the chair by your desk. She places her iPad in front of you, and you glance down at the article titled Avengers New Girlfriend???
You skimmed the article. An undisclosed source told them that the Avengers' new girlfriend was their old therapist who engaged in inappropriate behaviors while on the job. It even listed your name, and where you currently worked.
Your heart sank.
"We can't have our name associated with this," your boss said apologetically.
"None of this is true," you said, standing up. You handed her back the tablet.
"This is getting a lot of attention. You should go home. You can clear out your desk over the weekend."
"You're firing me?" you asked, unable to control the way your voice shook. This was all a nightmare.
She nodded, "Im sorry. It's just the way it is. You're a hard worker, and excellent at your job. This will clear up soon, you'll see."
She left you in silence, and you were completely unable to comprehend what had just happened.
You wanted to call Tony, but you wouldn't know what to say. Girlfriend? To all of them?
You didn't want to come back to the office, so you gathered everything in the space that was yours and placed it in your bag.
Everything was falling apart. You had only had this job for a few short weeks, and you were almost certain that the Avengers would want nothing to do with you once they saw that article.
The stupid thing was that it was true. You liked each one of them undeniably, unconventionally. There was a special place in your heart for everyone of them.
You smeared the stray tears that you couldn't hold back. You didn't know what to do.
You could feel people's stares as you walked by, and what was even worse was the mob of reporter-looking people waiting outside of the front doors. You knew they had to be there because of this. Luckily, there was an employee entrance that was quieter, and you made a quick escape.
Your apartment complex was packed, and you could see the hoards of people on your floor near your door. How did they know where you lived? What were you going to do?
You parked your car in the furthest lot, watching the cameras and reporters come and go. A sinking hopelessness filled you. You didn't know how to escape this. Everything was such a mess.
It had to have been minutes before your passenger door opened, scaring you half to death.
Steve slid in. He had a baseball cap covering his fluffy blonde hair.
"Should've called us, honey," he said, reaching over the middle console to wrap his arms tightly around you. His warm voice soothed you, and the gravity of the situation began to hit.
"Everything is ruined," you sniffled, muffled by his chest. You gripped his t-shirt.
He stroked your hair, down your back. You focused on the repeated motion.
"Bucky's got a distraction to get them away from the building, so we can get in there and get your stuff. It'll be safer for you to be at the compound with us."
"You all still want me around?" you whispered, peeking up at him. "I know - It's just... It's awkward."
"It's not awkward," he reassured. "It doesn't change anything. It doesn't change how important you are to us."
He dried your tears, kissing your cheek.
"What kind of distraction?" you asked.
Steve shrugged. "I didn't ask. He and Barton wanted to blow something up."
"Blow something up?"
"Just a trash can or something. I didn't question it," Steve said, pulling out his phone.
You didn't think their distraction would work, but sure enough, as soon as the reporters saw smoke, they cleared out.
"We have to be fast," Steve said, ushering you out. He kept you close, a steady hand on the small of your back.
You pulled out a duffle and a suitcase.
"You can throw clothes in that," you told him, as you went to the bathroom to gather your stuff there.
You were surprised to find Steve meticulously, but quickly, folding your clothes nicely in the suitcase. You could fit most of what you wanted in the two bags.
Steve stuck the baseball cap on your head, and you had no trouble getting out of there.
Natasha was waiting for you when you entered the main area of the compound.
She held open her arms, the first time she had willingly offered the affection.
"Solnyshka," she murmured, holding you close. Her soft touch was your undoing as you sobbed into her chest. "It's going to be okay."
"Everything is ruined," you sobbed.
"Nothing that can't be fixed," she soothed.
"I worked so hard," you cried, feeling Steve step behind you. He gathered the hair that stuck to the nape of your neck. The cool air was welcome against your heated skin. "Just to be seen as some slut."
Your sobs were ragged and harsh as you struggled to take in air. You felt like a floundering fish as your throat ached.
Steve picked you up, setting you on the couch and someone wrapped a blanket around your shoulders. You settled a little, unable to cry anymore, but still shuddering.
"We're sorry that we caused all of this," Sam said sincerely as he entered the room with Buck and Clint. "We should've considered what people would say."
"It's not even that," you said, voice rough and hoarse. You struggled to find the words to admit to them that they had it all wrong. "The girlfriend part doesn't bother me. My reputation as a therapist does."
"Being our girlfriend doesn't bother you?" Tony teased, walking alongside a smaller unfamiliar man. "Good news. Henry here is going to fix everything. He's my publicist, and also under an NDA."
You sat up, drying your cheeks. You tried to straighten your clothes, but it was no use. You knew you looked like a hot mess.
"Nice to meet you," Henry said politely.
"I made the contract we initially had go away completely. No record of it exists anywhere. Henry also took my official statement to be published now," Tony told you. His efforts, all of their efforts, meant so much to you. Your turmoil eased.
Once Henry left, Tony dropped down onto the couch next to you.
"I can't make people give you your job back. I mean, I guess I could, but I won't. I can help get your name cleared though."
You sniffled. You were exhausted. You felt like you had been hit by a train.
You laid in Tony's lap. Natasha adjusted the blanket so it fully covered you.
------------------Author's Note-------------------------
Tony ran his hand along your arm. His soothing touch sent you right to sleep.
