iive decided romantic love and attraction isnt a concept that exists within rain world's universe. this is canon now trust me im videocult
#spire rambles#rain world#ok but. hear me out#we have references to sex and one (1) mention of marriage (character being referred to as a spouse)#but there's no indication of actual romance iirc. even marriage doesnt have to be romantic#and considering rw's worldbuilding who's to say it's even like. directly parallel to our concept of marriage#when nineteen spades talks about their past attachment to the world they mention having progeny and being esteemed by their peers#but no mention of a romantic partner. idk#it's. the distinct lack of even the slightest hint of romance within rain world is something that feels noteworthy to me#especially considering how often parental or familial bonds are brought up within rw#so it's not simply a lack of any sort of relationship - the exclusion of romance in particular feels in some sense deliberate#or perhaps i am simply grasping at straws as a romance repulsed individual. that is also possible
