Favorite dumb t//ma au that I like to rotate sometimes is “what if revenant!amaldyne was psychicly linked to jon?” It’s a sub-au of my “what if revenant!amaldyne survived her defeat and was imprisoned for eternity, desperately seeking freedom in whatever form she can attain while knowing her release means that she shall devour everything?” where she hangs out in someone else’s brain trying to manipulate them into becoming powerful enough to either kill her or free her (she has no preference either way) and so now jon has this incredibly dangerous dragon hanging out in his brain and trying to influence his behavior and it’s this huge secret separating him from everyone else that weighs on his life. Oh and also when he’s in danger she can briefly possess him in a big dramatic reveal or something. Or maybe even lend him her powers also for big dramatic reveal purposes.

#this is sooooo self indulgent #i think they’d have a complicated relationship where they don’t reaaaaally like each other?#like they’re both kinda assholes with snooty academic tendencies #and also amaldyne is going to /devour the world/#but at the same time jon is amaldyne’s only hope for freedom and only point of contact #and jon /can/ trust that. at least for the time being. amaldyne needs him safe and alive.#also she’s pretty intelligent and. being a magical dragon from another world who knows all about magic and gods and a very different history #she can offer an interesting perspective on his own research. and he won’t pretend he isn’t curious about her world and her story #they’re not friends but they’re not enemies either. reluctant allies is the closest descriptor but also not quite right.#especially because like everyone else amaldyne ever touches Jon’s social life is being melted acid #don’t know if i want elias to previously be aware of her (because he’s privy to their mental conversations)#or if he’s gonna be surprised by a big dramatic reveal later on #i kinda think i want him to suspect that something’s up but he’s not quite sure what #idk not maintagging this #i think i’ll put it in amaldyne’s tags tho #amaldyne #amaldyne rotwing #the lizard crew
