Hey Puts! Your recent post of Hikaru deleting her tiktok and the drama that ensued before got me thinking. Are some of the Japanese fans still being mean/entitled about Hikaru's choices? And is Hikaru still with her manager?

As for anon's first question, it's hard to tell...I blocked some of the users on Twitter who were particularly rude. No idea if they are still talking shit about Hikaru. I really hope they don't. If they know what's good for them, they have moved on to another fandom that brings them more joy...As for some of Hikaru's super loyal and active fans, they are still not particularly happy about the current situation but I feel like they have become a bit more careful when it comes to expressing their opinions publicly, especially now that Hikaru's freelancer career is seemingly taking a turn for the better. I understand the negative feelings to a certain extent, I am also not the biggest fan of some of the choices Hikaru has made in recent times (e.g. Music Champ app) but I try to be respectful and patient.

Regarding Hikaru's manager, I don't think she is currently managed by anyone (at least not in the traditional sense of the word). Hikaru is working as a freelancer at the moment which basically means that she is not signed up with a proper management agency. That's not to say that she doesn't still receive advice from someone. I am sure there are people behind the scenes who are helping her make decisions and organise stuff. In one of her latest YouTube videos there is a female voice behind the camera. It could be her former manager, a friend, her sister, her mother...lots of possibilities...

I did mention in another post that I hoped Hikaru would eventually move past her freelancer activities and join another agency, preferably Highway Star. We'll see what happens in a few weeks. By the end of October, it will be exactly one year since her contract with Hifumi expired so once that period is over, that might open some doors for her....
