I’ve just been watching Bleach and in the credits to ep 118, Grimmjow gets called a Professor 👀 and now I can’t stop thinking about it…

So how about an AU where Grimmjow is a professor? Sorry if that’s too vague and random 😅

Oh no, that's not too vague. Thanks so much for suggesting. I always laugh thinking about certain characters being "responsible" adults esp when it comes to working with other people lol. I was so close to making Grimmjow a culinary professor, but it'd be too easy lol. I hope you like this!

There were so many signs that this class was going to be...not normal. However, when you gleamed through the professor reviews there wasn't anything out of the ordinary...well you didn't read them all. Mistake number one.

Mistake number two was not reading the syllabus (who does though) and showing up to class when it started--10am. There were a few people, but after waiting fifteen minutes, not even half the class was there and neither was the professor. After another fifteen minutes, you were starting to get a bit antsy and confused, but soon the rest of the class filled in. Then one guy came in with ripped jeans, a white jacket, shades, and a Monster in hand.

Damn, this guy looks rough. I bet he was partying too hard with the new semester starting. You jumped when a bag slammed on the teacher's desk. You tilted your head as the man's shades came off, and you were met with blue-as-hell eyes and a grumpy expression.

It seems you weren't the only one confused.

"Hey! Class was supposed to start at 10! Why is the professor late?" one guy yelled from his seat. A few other students mumbled in agreement.

"Oi, why the hell are you yelling?! Too fucking early in the morning," the man barked back. You could feel his voice rumble in your chest. It sounded as if he had just woken up not too long ago either. The man went over to his seat and kicked his feet on the desk. He popped open his energy drink and went on. "Literally on the first page of your syllabus it says that class starts at 10:30 because 10 is too fucking early and I like my sleep. It ain't my fault the dean wouldn't give me a noon class, tch."

You couldn't believe your ears. This guy can't be serious. This is my literature professor? You didn't like to make assumptions about people, but the guy looked to be around everyone else's age and even if he did teach a class, with his attitude you'd think it'd be something...not like literature.

"Anyway, the name's Grimmjow. I don't really care if you call me Professors. That's your business. This is Global Literature of the 21st Century. I hate repeating myself so listen the first time, and I don't give out extra credit unless you drop off a 12-pack of these first." the man went on tapping the can.

You sunk it your seat a little. What the hell did I sign up for?

After those first couple of weeks, you decided that you would do your absolute best in that class and avoid being a nuisance to that grumpy professor. Grimmjow definitely had a reputation on campus. Many students had a love-hate relationship with him--grateful for the extra time to sleep in, no bullshit, and the somehow rowdy yet engaging teaching. Definitely hate though for the teasing, cussing, yelling, and him being ready to chew out whatever dumb ass he picked that day.

So it certainly wasn't your best moment when the man practically ordered that you came to his office hours later that day.

You slowly opened the door to his office and met with the rather odd scene of your professor with reader's on his nose going over papers. For a moment, he looked really peaceful and actually almost professional.

"Oh wow, you actually fucking showed up."

And moment over.

You stopped yourself from messing with your elbows and nodded. "Uh yeah what's up, Grimm?" you immediately winced on the inside unsure of how the man would react to the unofficial nickname. But he didn't say anything.

He pointed at the chair, and you immediately sat. He rubbed his face and pushed the glasses off his head. "Look, I'll make this quick. Tell that idiot Jackson to stop stealing whole paragraphs from your papers or I'll break his arm."

You blinked. "Excuse me?"

There was that annoyed look again. "I'm not stupid. The guy has been copying sentences and paragraphs and piecing them together as his own work. He's already going to get in trouble, of course. But seriously, your work always seems to be included. Is he your idiot boyfriend or somethin'?"

The mention of a boyfriend flustered you a little even though you wouldn't dare consider that particular classmate. "Oh no uh- I'm single, and I kinda don't know how he's getting my assignments. I mean we do work together in the library but-,"

The man cut you off and waved his hand. "Okay, okay whatever. Just be mindful of where you're leaving your shit I guess."

You nodded then paused for a moment. "So I'm not in trouble?" You couldn't deny that being in front of the man made you nervous.

"Tch, for what? You're like one of my best students." Grimmjow easily said. "I actually think you know how to read a book and write. Some of these fools are using ai bots as if I can't tell." That was as close to compliment as you ever heard the man say. His face softened for a moment before he grinned meanly. "Well, I will give you some advice."

You weren't sure what it'd be, but you brightened up at the offer. "Sure!"

Grimmjow flicked your forehead before leaning back into his chair. "I got a rule that I don't go dating students, so you better fix how you keep eye-fucking me before I make it a problem." he snickered.

"What! I don'-,"

"Get out."

You squeaked before hightailing it out of the office--face warm and heart racing.

One thing you did know for sure though, you were certainly ready to see what type of problem your professor would give you.

Genuinely so curious who Mike thinks is gonna be buying The Cage or the new DCTL GN bc with the way he tweets as far as he's concerned, it's not gonna be:

The queer people he has actively admitted he will never show any representation of in the games.

2. The POC he has actively fought against representing in his franchise. [Who he also mocked for thinking they would be represented in his franchise]

3. The Bendy fandom which has always been concerned with topics of diversity esp in the sense of queer people since its creation. Who he has responded to really poorly esp in regards to the GN.

4. The fans who critique him. [He blocked me for doing so lol]

5. His fans in general who he tweets about like this currently. [He's being vague about why people were mad at him or sent him 'nasty messages' because if you actually looked into why you'd see he was in the wrong. Either way, a very hateful way to speak abt ur own fanbase.]

Reminder while Mike is trash talking his fans he has always treated them rather poorly. The fans who won the fanart contest for Chapter 5 never got their posters actually in game due to it being rushed. Not only was chapter 5 a big slap to the face story wise, but it was literally so rushed he couldn't be bothered to add in the art his fans gave him for his game FOR FREE. [Meatly blames this on a crazy timeline, reminder him and Mike are the literal ceos of this company. The proposal of future updates here is also pretty cruel considering Mike nowadays happily admits he corrupted Chapter 5's source code and therefore literally can't update it At All currently. Because he is a moron]

At least they got to be in Boris and the dark survival, and by that I mean that was the Only game they got to be in so far, isn't that just treating your fans like you love them? Shoving their hard work into a spin off game almost nobody has played or addresses much. [Hell, who knows if with the Lone Wolf rebrand they'll even stay there. In which case they'll be in None of the games, only in the credits of BATIM]

6. The Bendy fans who just generally disagree with him on stuff. Like the new ink demon design where there is literally a public poll showing people generally prefer the old one.

7. The Bendy fans who can see he is actively lying to them. To their fucking faces.

He says this has always been the case, but screenshots and links to tweets regarding the books being canon prove it was not. Does he really think bendy fans are stupid or something? [Unless he's admitting here he lied to Kress when he told her the books were canon which sounds worse!]

8. Anyone who doesn't like the idea of giving money to a guy who laid off tons of employees then afterwards thought it was a great idea to express his anti-union views! Also brag about how good of an employer he was, according to his employees, he was not!

So in summary; Mike is an awful person who has not learned anything from the awful things he did. I will not be purchasing The Cage because, combined with this and his absolute refusal to take any kind of critique or see any differing interpretation of his franchise, I have no reason to think my problems with the franchise will ever be addressed or fixed. I probably will pirate The Cage along with any future Bendy Products [Including the movie] and will do my best to avoid giving it any kind of monetary support. Unless this changes any time soon, I can't see myself making anymore positive Bendy posts soon.

Mike has just managed to make it so hard to speak positively or optimistically of this franchise when he's so willing to broadcast how little he cares about it or its fans. I'm at the point where I refuse to pull any of my punches with my problems with it. What's the point of trying to play nice with my critique when either way the people creating it don't care?

So with this post, I want to invite anyone who feels similarly about the franchise to tell me, make a post or send an ask talking about how all of this makes you feel. It may not change how things are, but genuinely seeing other people share my feelings of anger makes me feel better. It feels nice to see when other people share our same concerns and worries. I'd also love to know if anyone else thinks they'll be avoiding purchasing Bendy products over this.

I'm not forcing anyone to participate in it nor trying to say anyone who doesn't supports mike but genuinely maybe if we can collectively decide to boycott things like the movie, graphic novel and The Cage... It might at least make the bendy devs acknowledge how much they have destroyed their own fandom's faith and trust in them.

The way Mike tweets about his actions like he had no control over why people were mad at him at least proves to me he takes NONE of it back nor regrets it. If you didn't know about his actions and only went off his tweets, you would be led to believe Mike has been needlessly picked apart by fans over things he couldn't control [or in his own words, had his words twisted and taken out of context]. That is not how you speak about your actions if you have actually learned better from them.

anyway, that has been my bendy dev callout post. This is an open invitation to anyone feeling similarly upset about the way the franchise is going to talk about it. It's genuinely nice to see how people feel about this and the more we talk about the more it's likely the bendy devs are forced to address our concerns. I don't think they will but hey, that's why I'm not gonna support them with my money anymore nor am I gonna be nice to them in any content I make critiquing Bendy. I mean I'm also basically making this post just in case anyone asks me Why I feel this way towards to bendy devs/as a way to respond to anyone who thinks I am too harsh in my critique in the future.

As always, it seems the best part of Bendy isn't actually anything about canon but about what the fan's are creating with the ideas Bendy failed to do anything interesting with.

Completely off topic but I wanna rant abt something for a moment (hence why I’m now sending this w anon and not my blog) but the video reminded me of something that happened to my friend in which she made a post on her UTDR related ask blog which was really simple just a “hey don’t misgender Kris/frisk/chara on my blog” and that was basically it. That was the post. BUT. She had vaguely mentioned the glitchtale and Xtale aus in the tags just bc those came to mind first as big fandom things that misgendered the kids, and SPECIFICALLY she wrote she didn’t know as much abt xtale though and that it was just as I said from the top of her head. And wouldn’t you know! The creator of xtale saw the post and took it to fucking HEART. Like made this whole personal long ass rant in a rb over this simple “hey don’t be transphobic on my own personal blog” post. And then, and I’m not joking, EVERY SINGLE comment, tag, RB, you name it, was ALL harassing her or siding w Xtales creator, the only people defending her were her mutuals, and this was a small blog to boot— this wasn’t some big huge blog going after xtale specifically— it was a small blog making a post aimed at the follower circle just offhandedly mentioning it IN THE TAGS. so this explosion just took a massive toll on her and us. Thus any time I see that au or the creator i just get the most sour feeling like Man I Hate They’re Still So Popular Despite That Shit :(((( so the fact a similar situation happened (at least based on what you described in the vid) just made me remember that was all, just like a feeling of “wow we really haven’t changed at all in like two years have we. :/“

I KNEW IT WAS GONNA COME OUT TODAY YES. Okay. Lemme just spill all the thoughts I have at initial watch. Maybe I'll rewatch it again later and notice new things. But this is what I noticed right now.

Here eyes do look a little "baggier" underneath, which does make her older than when we first saw her in the TGA trailer.

She is first seen fighting Jin in the trailer. Which makes me wonder 2 things. One) if fans are right and she's gonna "knock some sense into him." Thooooough. I don't really see why that would happen? Given that Jin hadn't really been a "Bad Guy" who needs sense knocked into him since TK6. As even in TK7, it looks like he's going on the right path, anyway. (andwellyouknowimhupingjinscharacterizationfromtk6getsalittleretconnedcoughcough) Especially I don't really care for the idea that a character can go from being a Ruthless Warmonger who treated everyone with no compassion to a Good Guy who deeply cares about saving even a single life because he met his mommy...? Like that's such a weak excuse to why he'd "turn around" anyway as fans are now theorizing. (But as I've stated multiple times on this blog - Jin's transition to a Bad Guy never made much sense and was also just full of flimsy excuses. So his transition back to being a Good Guy also doesn't make much sense unless they come up with something good. And this just wouldn't be... Good enough. And I was hoping that you know, TK8 will give us a bit better character / story writing - esp for Jin - since other than characters that have been turned into complete jokes or pushed to the side, he's been getting it hardest.

ANYWAY - Unless this is like in TK4 where she has to knock sense into Jin to not kill Kazuya. But given that the very first trailer looks like the Final Battle, and Jin is still stuck in the "we should've never existed" mindset. That's probably not it, either. Most likely she's probably just training with him to prepare him for the Final Battle. Or you know, just a trailer and nothing more.

Although she's almost always moving. Her stance DOES look like her Tag 2 stance, and she looks like she plays like her Tag 2 counterpart. Whiiich makes me happy. Given I actually preferred how Jun played in Tag 2 versus how she and Asuka plays in the main games. However I do notice something else...

She appears to bounce Jin with a spike of light here????? Which looks just like how UNKNOWN bounced the opponent with a gooey dark spike. So this makes me wonder if she's also gonna play like Unknown as well??? Which is very interesting. Given that Unknown is in a noncanon game. And that also means that the Kazamas may be even possess more power than we thought. Which could also explain why she needs to train Jin further and show him the power of Kazama style? As well as why she could've been possibly missing for so long? Maybe she's been honing such powers all this time? Either way, I'm very curious as to where this will lead.

AAAND, this may also prove my theory wrong? That this is INDEED the real Jun. But I just - ughhh. Kazuya doesn't really seem to emote anything here? He's just his Typical Self. "So It's You" Self. Like I'm REEEEEALLY hoping TK8 will delve into their relationship further. Because so far, every time Kazuya has canonically spoken of Jun - as I said - it's vague and with little emotion. Which is odd. Given they have a child together. (But maybe it really WAS a one night stand LOL.)

yes! i won’t lie this is gonna be a little vague because this is just my interpretation of the scene… but this interpretation started with my most recent rewatch of Goes to Hell from a few months ago.

and also Charlie Day talking on one of the podcasts about how he doesn’t really believe in explaining art. He likes the approach of putting something out there and never looking at the feedback or explaining your art. So I was thinking about that when I watched the scene where Charlie realizes the ship isn’t moving and they’re trapped— “I mean, it used to be I would never even leave Philly! But then you drag me into this and you drag me into that…” basically coming from Charlie wanting the show to stay grounded in reality in some way, then we move onto the discussion of how much noise the boat is making— this is where my interpretation of this convo having a subtext about audience feedback comes in.

They start debating how much noise a boat should make, when Dennis ends the conversation by saying “no, you’re all wrong. Boats are mostly computerized these days. They make a fake noise to make people feel better, but it’s not real.” and I took this to be about how audience feedback is much more easily collected due to social media. Esp bc around s11 is when Sunny started to have a social media presence, which is how a lot of audience feedback and data is collected nowadays rather than doing things like focus groups.

And in s11 there was already some discussion about ‘modern media’ practices, the subtext of Charlie Catches a Leprechaun is all about streaming! So a lot of that sounds vague, tbh my best advice is to rewatch the episode for yourself with this in mind and see if anything stands out, I’m kind of lost in the sauce so I barely trust my own judgement anymore for this show lol.

so first thing. i really like the sound design of cas doing his whatever in gabriel's head. we get the ringing associated with "enochian" yeah whatever bros. and also the background static along with the like, waves of something too far away so it's just more garbled static. worst description ever. imagine you're in a car driving across the country and you're trying to find a station but you're in the middle of bumfuck nothing. anyway, it's subtle but it's a nice touch. even if i think the execution of angel radio generally is kinda goofy, i like the angel radio can't find a station situation

secondly, i'm really not sure what they're trying to sell us here with this dean and ketch scene. the good lad'ing aside, there's also so some sort of weird eye contact moments that seem weirdly hot and heavy for these characters in this situation. it feels like they're trying to sell me on ketch and dean bonding and i'm 🙅 i can only stow so much baggage (like hey cas for example, that one doesn't stay stowed very well admittedly [i hold a grudge for the bad things he did but try not to because they don't]) I'M OUT OF ROOM. it's not rehabbing john winchester levels of 🚫 but it's up there.

How did you come up with your dragon age OCs? Did the design come first, or their personality? And does how they look (their hairstylr, the clothes they wear) influence their background for you, or vice versa? i think when i was younger it was the design that came first because i'd just start the game and figure out the personality later, and now that i'm older i think of the role i'd like to play and design a character accordingly.

so, this happened with hawke. garrett always was the biggest and the least struggle at the same time? i knew i didn't want fem!hawke (i never play cis fem characters because *gestures vaguely* dysphoria) and always play mages, so i created my basic ginger person for the very first playthrough, but it never felt right. hence, i turned back to the default look and focused on his story more. hawke is a somewhat fixed personality canonically, so it feels a bit off to think of his story, it's already there. i'd say he's work in progress, more than any other ocs.

allaros, my sweet baby, also being the oldest of my current ocs, was designed accordingly to my taste. hence, he's a ginger elvhen mage. like, it's my favourite coincidence that i got interested in bull and Then found out he was into redheads. because i just always created ginger playable characters!!

the design is totally affecting how i perceive a character. i do a little trick where i give them light eyes, because my monkey brain instantly starts liking a character more. this is just ridiculous. it works every time. when i created surana in dao for the first time, i couldn't move forward till i got them a hairstyle i pictured in my head, like, a single mod. it didn't feel like them.

i remember the earlier drawings of allaros where i just repeated how he looked in the game, and eventually some features started to show up. none of them is present right now, lol. i remember he was wearing a mask and was very much flamboyant ✨. he was a typical dragon age comedy genius character. also rather centrist, also a pacifist. the violence isn't an answer kind. sometime in between his key feature was being Really tired of everyone's bullshit. which makes sense. now that i revisited his character he got way more mature and well structured. still very tired. not a centrist. thank god.

surana and cousland came from me wanting to see the worst choices possible. one evolved out of another: first, i was influenced by bioware's bullshit with radical elves, esp velanna, so my choice for that playthrough was surana. then, years later, i was enlightened that it is, indeed, racist bullshit. i designed cousland for my the worst choices playthrough. a human noble who doesn't care about others kinda makes sense. then i designed their final looks from what i wanted to see, though i would say surana's appearance is work in progress, i want something that brings me serotonin and can't quite figure it out. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

And I def want more Cub & Iskall as well. Maybe when they're working on the cathedral together is when Cub feels brave enough to start that conversation.

As for the mask, it's definitely magic of some sort. It's the one thing I struggled with for so long in trying to conceptualise HOW you make this work at all. But I think seeing his face as a mask, magical or otherwise, is a good way to do it. I'm kinda leaving it vague on whether it's a physical mask that becomes his own face with magic, or if it's more an illusion or glamour that simply makes people see Old Man Cub and not Actual Cub. I think both are viable methods tbh and I'm not wedded to either. Whichever one makes sense to you is fine with me tbh, even if that's a mask on top of a mask lol. :D

I have in my head a lot of ideas about Cub's conflict with masking his appearance, and how he relates to his body. Why he would want the Vex to literally take his unwanted flesh and give him scars, rather than simply magic his body the way he wants it to look, bc that's just more illusion and it's Not Him, but those scars? That's him. Maybe he doesn't like showing them off much, bc that's still A Lot and maybe he's still not entirely comfy with his body, but it's still his, and not another illusion. His time with Scar in s5 and s6 makes him comfy enough to show off more flesh with the Pharaoh skin, while also being a more practical dress for a desert. The scars wouldn't be that visible though, but if you knew what you were looking for, you'd see them. It helps with that shift to taking off the final mask and putting Old Man Cub to bed at last and getting comfy enough to be himself.

oh Raha gets SO flustered when i flirt with him, no fucking doubt. he gets flustered when i say something vaguely nice to him, an actual pick up line or innuendo sends him reeling. once the smoke stops coming out of his ears, he manages to dig up some of that wit and start flirting back. takes a bit tho hehe

did this question send me down a rabbit hole of ffxiv flowers? maybe. was it ultimately useless bc i ended up choosing a regular ass clower? mayhaps. BUT!! i think Raha's favorite flower would be sunflowers !! i like to imagine that some botanical students in sharlayan were cultivating them for research, and he thought they were just lovely. notably sunflowers can symbolize loyalty and adoration~

hmm i think it would take a while for Raha to realize his feelings. it's all tied up with how he idolizes the Warrior of Light, esp during his time as crystal exarch (now whos creating a parasocial relationship with their hero??) and i don't think he'd notice when his admiration started turning into something more. he only "realizes" when someone else points it out to him, probably one of the other scions. as for how he deals with it...well, mostly just tries to keep things under wraps. he can be surprisingly insecure when it comes to things like this, not to mention i have more than a few, uh...admirers. but now he's even more jumpy and flustered around me than he was before, which is a feat

OMG this is exactly how i feel and also how i think noah feels/felt?? ive never been able to express that cos there are circles where if you say anything at ALL that could be even SEEN as bad against the boys (esp noah because of all the shit year he's had), you just get run off with a metaphorical shotgun lol

but seriously finn absolutely did give those douchebag vibes growing up sometimes, and i can say that looking back cos its so natural and normal when a teenager to be experimenting with who you are like that. and sometimes, yeah, you come off as douchey. and also it clearly masked deep insecurity, which finn's been gracious and honest about as he's become a young man. in a way that floored me, actually. it was everything i hoped for when i first saw s1 and wondered what would become of these kids. im not a celeb gossip person - more of a sort of interested in an actor talking about their creative process person - but s1 really had me hoping they'd all be ok. and finn seemed so unique, i just remember feeling vaguely interested in whether he'd still be in the biz in 10 years and how he might be. i predicted he'd be a runway model lol, that bone structure was there from the off

and noah too, for balance: i think finn found him incredibly annoying at times which is so normal but that specific thing you said, off genuinely pissed/clashing BECAUSE there's also this insane chemistry and inexplicable attraction. and noah had that basic mainstream taste that would have pissed someone like finn off in a teen way, because he was so into subculture and alt stuff. and then ofc that all mellows and you appreciate them as you age - hence 'he's a very special person to me' and finn's warmth towards noah now. i just think there's something really special about experiencing growth with a friend/crush, and being able to acknowledge maturely the negative aspects too.

YES THANK YOU! I'll admit I often tamp down my sarcastic side here because tone isn't always read correctly online. But being a little sarcastic is fun! All joked with love. Clearly huge fans of both!! And - I think both Finn and Noah have that sensibility as well. Noah is snarky as hell sometimes! And Finn can be really sarcastic. It's cool, it's fun.

And I say it with such fondness too and agree - I WAS that douchebag asshole teenage boy. Are we kidding? Real recognizes real. But he's also sooooo sweet and endearing as hell. Multi-faceted man! Cosigned - covering up insecurity. His life has been heavily documented and at the expense of us being able to talk about and analyze it today - that much is very apparent. Agree agree.

It's important to remember that these guys have a very different relationship than any of us can even imagine and analyze! I enjoy watching little things of the squad of boys super young, like around season 2 is that sweet spot. Because it goes to show how ingrained they were and are in each other's lives. In ways no interview or behind the scenes doc will ever give us. How they used to goof off in hotel rooms together and now they all squad up and go to concerts and stuff. Lives deeply lived with each other. So, they all would have at different times, found each other super annoying as well as been super close friends. Real friendships!! Clashing personalities and interests sometimes! And then - maturity. You are so right.

See I have no fucking idea WHY I did this but I barely wrote anything on L.L. and their time on the ship for some fucking reason. Like I have vague memories now but nothing too clear.

I remember them being friends with Izzy tho. He had a soft spot for them. A dog's dog, if you will.

I originally wrote down that they'd have stayed in the island with the rest in the ending of season 1 but after some thinking I think that wouldn't make sense bc 1) they'd not be participating on the talent show no way. And 2) Ed would find them useful having they're some sort of fucking mystic or something and also have razor sharp teeth to kill.

I don't think they'd have stayed in the ship for long tho I think after a while they'd, fled. Because I mean I did go on to have different hobbies and there's a time skip in the show (although short) so there's that.

I don't know when they'd come back though... I'm only in episode 2 y'know.

They'd be so fucking mad about Izzy's leg tho they're one passive mf here but they'd go full protective mode esp if they find Ed did it they'd go Crazy.

Important to say although relatively obvious tho the person who first came into the ship and the one that returned all those years later isn't the same. I mean to begin with they can fucking swim (a little) now so.

I think the Ravagers being where Gamora ended up would work better for more people if Gunn hadn't spent the majority of the trilogy moving characters away from that group. We see Peter move away from that life to be a guardian and become better for it. We see Yondu eventually become both and form a bond with Rocket. We see Kraglin find a home with the guardians and eventually become part of the team. You can't spent time doing this and then try to switch gears at the end to say being with the Ravagers was all along the best place for one of the characters. It would also work better if Gunn had interwoven exploration of the ravagers and Gamora's relationship with them into the story in a thorough way so it didn't look like a consolation prize. Most importantly he should have allowed Gamora to officially be part of both families.

This lack of exploration and vagueness is an issue with many things surrounding Gamora's character. Her characterization for example is very similar to how she was in vol 1, which makes sense since she time traveled. Only it's peppered with aspects of many of the other characters vol 1 and vol 2 personalities/actions. We see her call Rocket a badger repeatedly the way Nebula called him a fox before. We see her question why they need to do the right thing or save people the way Rocket used to do in vol 1 and Nebula too. We see her as a Ravager, at first only involved for the money which is very vol 1 Peter Quill. I'm sure there's more. This isn't bad in a sense but keeps her from being more individual. It also isn't used. If Gunn had used this to forge bonds between her and the other characters where they could see themselves in her and we could see understanding and growth on both sides, it would have been much better. Sort of how Yondu saw himself in Rocket during vol 2 and called out his behavior in a way that let them become friends. Gamora however is kept from having any meaningful interactions with most of them. This makes the similarities we see in her from time to time something with no real purpose. It also isn't helped by the fact that many people seem to have forgotten that most of the characters started out not so great people coming out of not so great situations and look at Gamora not being perfect and think why isn't she being a perfect hero like the rest of them. It's lost that these characters were thieves, murderers, had participated in assault and fandom fave Yondu had been involved with human trafficking which led to Ego killing a bunch of children.

yeah i feel like the stuff with the ravagers is just kinda messy bc after vol 2 since yondu's entire crew was effectively killed off there isn't much reason to keep the gotg connected to the rest of the ravagers since it seems like peter and kraglin don't rly have a relationship with stakar et al? i think gamora being a ravager is an interesting way to try to restore that connection but i guess i'm just not even sure i needed the gotg and the ravagers to be intertwined again at all? esp since they went probably 10 years or so between vol 2 and vol 3 not rly having a connection with them anymore. i mean if they rly wanted to build this up more we could've had the ravagers show up to help in the battle for earth or whatever the final battle against thanos in endgame is called, but i'm sure the russos didn't even think of that lol just as if we'd had the black widow movie actually come out before iw/endgame, we could've had yelena and the widows come help in the battle, but nahhhh

i rly like all the connections you made between gamora and the other characters and how they share similarities! and you're so right, that created so many missed opportunities for the characters to connect with gamora more. and yeah i'm here for the callout of fandom fave yondu bc i was lukewarm toward him before and now seeing how his legacy vs. gamora's legacy has been handled in canon i'm just kinda over him lol

Love talking Abt tori's background I've done it a million times and will do it a million more it's just so interesting and there's so much unknowns grr

It def looks like tori's parents neglect him I doubt they even actually "raised" him since they're so hands off and absent in his life and hardly mentioned by him ever. The only time he mentions his old man is to boast Abt his "connections" like with the occult club thing where they were gonna stay at like an abandoned or empty temple or sum. Or when Tori boasts about his background saying he was born in a temple / comes from a temple family etc but I think he only says that to give himself more credibility bc of the whole everyone thinking he's crazy bc he says he can see ghosts shit.

Also from what we do know of his parents, we've only heard Abt his dad not his mom so I like to hc she's outta the picture (either deceased or just not there yk) tho I used to just hc he was an orphan dropped off there and taken in by the monks / head monk or something. Anyways, his dad is mentioned by the monks having said to be strict with Tori or "take care" of him and that's pretty much it, super vague. For all we know it isn't endearing or sweet it's controlling especially bc if the monk's idea of taking care of him is being strict and stuff then maybe Tori had a really strict and rigid daily routine and life growing up in the temple. I mean if his punishment is always gonna be fasting for a certain amount of days then I imagine he'd probs behave most of the time which is why he's well mannered or takes a traditional approach to some things (I think someone once questioned how odd it was he called kusuo saiki-san, like who taught him manners). Also his other temple the one he was probably raised in doesn't look like it had pretty memories considering the fact when he was threatened to be sent back there again he caved and did as he was told or whatever. Or maybe he didn't like the thought of being separated from his master and the cute girls at pk who hate his fucking guys who knows ☠️

And lastly Abt the "he's not a bad person" yes ur totally right I completely agree !! He isn't a bad person. He's got some bad habits and says and does some inappropriate shit but he's not that much of a scumbag as he's made out to be. He's actually a pretty sweet guy even tho he pretends not to be. Tho he only shows the better innocent parts of him he hides to ghosts and saiki. Like that one time he helped an "evil" ghost with the occult club. His lil mom speech was so cute I loved it so much lol! Mom friend toritsuka?! He also has this hatred for humans and like men specifically (maybe he has a dad complex? Or a monk complex? Since he's probably mostly and only been around men his entire life esp if his mom wasn't in the picture). So maybe that men hating attitude has something to do with past trauma who knows there could be so much to unpack. And as for me, I like to believe his hypersexualness / "porn addiction" is like some sort of coping mechanism or something similar. I said this in another post like a long time ago but I think it has to do with his sense of longing to *feel* what love is, to love and be loved. The closest thing he has to work on is lust or pleasure bc those are attributed to physical feelings that are closely related to love but not quite the same thing but it's as close as he'll ever get. I mean he's got mommy and daddy issues he was probably never hugged or held in his entire fucking life, it's no wonder he'd be craving physical affection and love and that twists itself into perversion. Also I imagine he's so obsessed with physical touch and being intimate because of the whole can't touch ghosts thing. Maybe the touching that was his coping mechanism for his powers became the reason he became so disliked, bc ppl started thinking ew gross pervert and it just stuck and in order to cope with that he just had to go with it and keep seeking stimulation.

thinking about toritsuka and his family bc i have so many things to say about it. we know that he has father but he seems to be more concerned about his temple things rather than his son. and it seems like he needs toritsuka just as another person to work in the temple or smth else. also uhh

this panel makes me think a lot especially that "your father told us to be strict with you". and we know nothing about his mother and i hc that she's dead but idk idk.

so toritsuka was born and raised in the temple and it looks like he had a very strict upbringing and to my mind this made him what he is now. like all his interest in porn and other seems more as a some kind of protest or an effort to feel the freedom he has never had before. i suppose that in reality he may be not that interested in this, it's just something that was forbidden and now he has access to it.

he doesn't know how to normally behave in society, apparently he wasn't taught this. in my view he's not a bad person, he just had this... unusual childhood and that's why he formed all his stupid habits and interests. ofc that doesn't justify some of his actions but still i love him sm and i don't see him as a bad person at all

its weird with long distance relationship, esp if u have severe trust issues and keep asking urself if ure good enough for them, if they might lose interest in u, or worse if I might lose interest in them— but the moment we start talking (after what weeks?) the whole conversation is me just heart eyes on the screen and smiling asf that I think ppl rlly could guess from a mile far that I looked like a puppy in love.

and they're not wrong. I'm genuinely happy to be with them and for them I deeply wish them the best and I have and always try to be the bestest friend and lover for them.

i have know this for long that as long as I can, I'll give my full support on them and give them the treatment they truly deserves. who knows what'll happen in the future: if we do stay together, or we break up again, or we stay friends, or something more— ik that I'll try to be there for them.

I've posted this on my insta yesterday but i also want to show my appreciation here—

To Dan, I know that the chance of me meeting you is nearly zero and I wouldn't get to thank him for creating ghostbusters & ray, but I still wanna say that, I thanked you decision to share your hyperfixation on the paranormals that inspires you to make this silly ghost movies because they now become my most favorite movie and I don't think any other can top these. Ray has just being the positive light in my life though I've only known you through the screens for two years and even then— he bring so much comfort and noted myself that I'm worth it. In ways I can't describe & deserving, thank you for making me felt loved and stay as my safe space in my down times.

I can see why they cut this one lol i think it would have been pretty insensitive given the alcohol references (its a tired stereotype that Indigenous ppl—whom the Na'vi reference lbr— are alcoholics & hedonists) & the vague & honestly uninspired references to indigenous dances & powwows that look more like a spectacle than thoughtful reverence (like the random yipping & the fact theyre not singing any hunting songs? Not to say the Omaticaya are overtly serious, but a drunken celebration of something as important & sacred to an animistic culture as hunting just doesnt make sense to me).

Also pulling in Grace & Norm seems kinda random? Tho i havent seen all the deleted scenes yet, so im getting from the ones that i saw that they both met Mo'at & gained her approval at one point.

But it would have been rlly cool to see the Omaticaya culture expounded upon in a similar cultural scene where more detail was included to visually explain Neytiri's relatively quick attachment to & lust for Jake (esp since she initially distrusted him & only spared him bc of Eywah's signals; he was a mere tool or POW to the clan for all she knew).

Like this photo from activist survival guide showing 3 hunters gathering meat & skin from a slain strumbeast makes me think that Jake could have been written to gain Neytiri's trust in one way by helping her gather the meat & skin of the strumbeast & help to transport it back to Hometree after the hunting scene?

Or im thinking that, since the canon hunting scene included them both on banshees, and dismounting the banshees to help transport the strumbeast corpse/meat would be impractical, once they got back to Hometree, Neytiri would show Jake how to complete some sort of ritual/prayer where the hunters on-banshee paid respect to the animal they killed; thru that sacred rite, the two would bond more intimately & that would transpire smoothly into the dinner scene.

How do u all feel abt this deleted scene? Would it have added significant information to the movie had it been included like this or in some similiar fashion? Do u think it was appropriate? How do u think audiences would have reacted to it or valued it?
