First Aid's pacifism being transferred into IDW isn't as obvious (medic violent and snarky so funny) cuz when defining pacifism it's not just about opposition of violence but doing things for sake of that, which First Aid, like, still does. He's way more compassionate than most of the medics we know and if there's an opportunity to reduce harm he takes it (him pulling out a gun in a moment of self-defense is not unique to him), even if it means taking it the hard way, and his comedic resortion to violence is not a bug of his pacifism but a feature.

And its not even that he's a big fan of it. Him killing Pharma i know was extremely traumatic. He's in a situation where resolving anything with words is not an option and he does his best with it.
