ㅤㅤso despite his heavy accent luring in every syllable, the creature born from constellations makes his observation known in the gentlest manner his human-caeling form can fathom: “you’re lonely.” a pause. he blinks. is he surprised by his remark? for a second, the outlander almost doubts his own thoughts. humans can be so complicated… even if they’re fascinating. especially ones so full of heart like the red pilot. he wants to understand. “aren’t you?”

she is shadow, he is her sunlight. is. was. unsure of what to use, what language to bind himself to. he is still the light guiding the kin he now bears a stone witness to. his anxieties catch up to him now that he has time to think instead of just preparing for the endgame battle. no, in the few hours left before the world crumbles down around his aching shoulders, he has to adjust, and there's only so much time one can.

not with the battle of the bands and his new ability to burn if he wants to go watch his friend's hard work with her cover band. he wishes he could be supportive, in the crowd with their other friends to cheer her on.

but as her firm words ground him with her hands, it shakes his unsteady head too heavy with a new crown of keratin horn to return to the present time. if only eclipse could pop from him, give him some time to relax and adjust, and not just remind him of why he did it.

really, the real reason is in front of him, grabbing onto his face so that he has a physical anchor.

"claire." his voice breaks. he did it for her. did it because her voice was the one to choke out her freedom - the final player in this chessboard; the queen of night, mother of monsters. but as she promises him, he is not a monster. not if he was going to let someone call him that. A gift from a fellow bard! Admittedly, Emma hasn't spoken to Venti much. She's heard whispers of the other, mostly others speaking of his talents and the rampant alcohol consumption, but she's never actually had a conversation with him. He seems nice based on the tells of others, though.

... She did wonder how he found out when her birthday was. Sure, she told a few people in the city, but not a lot. Venti must have been deeply entrenched in Modstadt's society. Quite a feat, appearing so young.

Emma was still exceedingly thankful for the flower crown, though! "It's so pretty! Thank you!"

why characters would you like to see more of in the genshin rpc?

okay WOW first of all, thank you for the chance to let me talk about some of my favorite characters that id like to see more of in the genshin rpc!! i'm going to preface first that i actually do not know if there are existing blogs of these characters considering im kind of small & inactive, so i'm purely going about this by 'i love these meow meows & i would totally love to see more of them' starting with:

i. dehya! I WANT TO BE HER WHEN I GROW UP,,, i'm in love with her character, how she's always so willing to help out others despite her whole demeanor with "mora", how down-to-earth she was especially surrounded by sumeru academics,, also dehyazard! she's definitely one of my favorite genshin characters in the entire game & i would love to see someone expand on her, things like her past, why she became a merc, etc.!

ii. kokomi! MY GIRLFRIEND MY WIFE MY MERMAID QUEEN!! i'm on the side of the fandom that thinks inazuma kind of. sucked in writing, especially now that i've gone through sumeru that's got such an impressive storyline & gave a spotlight to the playable characters + npcs. kokomi is one of the characters i think they wasted a lot of potential on considering she was initially presented as someone so,,, shady & with ulterior motives? i'm a bit bummed they did nothing with her so i'd love to see how the rpc would do their own take of kokomi! in fact i actually am fleshing out a canon divergent kokomi on my multimuse on @eseluna so HEHE,, the high priestess deserves the best in the world

iii. yanfei! obligatory mention bc she's my main at the moment, but i do think she's got some interesting potential to her as a half human, half adeptus, but there isn't really much hyv will do with her any time soon,,, i'm not quite sure what i'd imagine for her but i believe in the creativity of the rpc to write her better than hyv

iv. nameless bard! i do also write venti & he was my first muse in genshin until i decided to just keep him a bit more lowkey. he's definitely got a compelling character to him considering he's had such a big influence on venti's view of freedom,, i've seen all the canon divergent tomos, i need a canon divergent nameless bard that venti & i can hug ; o ;

if there's one thing that's benefited them with being online so often, it's rhyme's extensive network of people across the country. trying to find a ghost has led them into strange areas of the internet, and even stranger are the reaper channels they've connected with in the last three years. rhyme has to mull over the inevitability of being drawn into the UG for her to have found beat's birthday present here, of all places.

well, they do have to admit, the reapers really know their street art.

they had dragged beat all the way out to his favorite skatepark, where she'd normally find him after school hours and they would both begin to head home. they purse their lips at him playfully when he starts to complain that he hadn't brought his skateboard, unable to keep the smile off her face, " just wait a second! i just have to grab something really quick. stay here! "

they rush off to a blind spot in a skatepark, collecting their quest item! they'll make sure to thank the reaper later, no pictures could quite capture his creativity now that they're holding it in person. a quick motion of wiping the skateboard, and rhyme starts to run back to beat, holding it over their head for him to see. finally, a shout, for all the world to hear: " HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BEAT! "

It started with his favorite bowl of curry, turned into him responding to messages and phone calls whenever they would pop up. He recalls Rhyme mentioning to leave a set time open for later on, so while devouring leftovers, Beat finds himself attempting to put together the pieces to whatever puzzle he had decided existed.

It's their expression alone which tells him all that he needs to know, something about patience and virtues which he completely misinterprets.

" When did viral stuff get patient? Is my birthday, yo! "

The time finally arrives and upon realizing where they are, the lack of skateboard makes him feel practically nude out in the open. " How'm I suppose to do any sick tricks without my board? " It's like they've read his mind, despite his loud outburst from their teasing, he leans back and waits upon Rhyme's departure.

He looks around, takes notice to the select few who are already boarding, envisioning himself out taking on the ramps and pipes, that is until the familiar voice almost makes him jump out of his skin, a shocked bwah! heard following the outburst.

" Totally knew you was there! Wha'cha talkin ab-oh hell yeah! That a new board? This is sick, Tiny Tot where'd ya even get the time for this?! "

Multimuse friendly as long as there is at least one muse I'm familiar with. I generally won't follow a multi that doesn't have something I'm familiar with. I may follow single-muse blogs that I'm not familiar with. It's easier for me to focus on one thing I don't know about than to try and pick from several things I don't know about.

Mostly OC friendly; you must have basic information at least. Not self-insert friendly due to past experiences. Will not interact with second generation/family-of-canon OCs (friends exempt from this), however this is an OC x Canon safe space and encouraged.

Again, Beat is 18+ as of NEO, so this blog will feature Beat as an adult and will feature adult Beat in romantic situations, potentiallly including sexual situations. This will likely be exceptionally rare because I'm very ace, and will be tagged appropriately.

I operate on the canon of ‘ageless’ characters (Reapers, Angels, etc.) being of the mentality as the physical age they present. For example: Shoka is both physically and mentally 16, despite being chronologically 20, and will be treated as a 16 year old; Sho is both physically and mentally 18, despite being chronologically 21+ and will be treated as an 18 year old. As such, I am open to shipping with certain Reapers as of NEO and onwards.

when it came to technology, kairi was used to being the expert when it came to her friends. sora & riku had never taken an interest in laptops & phones the way she had ( games, however, they had all enjoyed ) &, as such, when things had gotten too complicated, it had usually been passed to her. she had chalked it up to spending her formative years in a world like radiant garden, who's technology was far more advanced than any world she had yet to visit.

despite the fact that the technology in shibuya was on a similar level to the islands, & that kairi had considered herself relatively well versed in it, most of what rhyme was doing was flying over her head. she had always known that there were layers upon layers of technical knowledge that she would never understand, but knowing them & seeing them with her own eyes were two different things.

in the end, kairi's attempt at following rhyme's explanation was admirable but, inevitably, futile.

she tried not to look too confused, but kairi was powerless to the way her brows furrowed & her nose crinkled. her only saving grace was knowing that the explanation was nearly over, & she would soon be able to concede to rhyme's expertise. she was ready to surrender.

what she wasn't expecting was for rhyme to turn to her as their explanation came to an end, tilt their head & ask kairi, "got it memorized?"

kairi's confused expression broke in an instant. her head tilted back as she laughed, her arms wrapping around her middle in a failed effort to calm herself down. it was a valid question considering the amount of information that had just been given, but kairi had been so unprepared to hear lea's signature phrase that her laughter took over her easily.

her laughter finally subsided enough to speak, but even then it took her a few more moments before she caught her breath. her quizzical expression from before had been erased completely, replaced by a bright grin.
