G̴̩͍͆͆̈́e̵̹̣͆t̷̬̋ ̸̻̮̎̒ĭ̸̏̃n̵͙̋͐ ̸̛̳̃t̶̪̣̅ḣ̸̳̇͜è̵̠̲͖̔̑ ̶̢̹̖͗͐̀Wa̵̬̞͝ṫ̴̩̣̣e̶͉̲̯͂̏̎r̴̉
It was a simple mission. Damian was working with Father to confirm the existence of a Lazarus Pit below Gotham, as Ra's Al Ghul speculated. And they had found it, deep in the caves below Gotham. A Pit the size of an Olympic sized swimming pool, bubbling and steaming. He'd only looked away for a moment.
"Kin-slayer."
Standing waist deep in the water stood Damian's reflection. The hair might be white, and the eyes glowing with the waters, but it was his face. But not his face alone.
Danyal's ghost glared at him. "Get in the water."
Father threw a batarang at him, but the metal flew straight through his head like it was air. Danyal didn't even glance at him, his eyes fixed on Damian. "Get in the water," he ordered again. He stepped closer to the shore and the green water sloshed up the bank higher than it was before. "Or I'll raise the tide so high, all of Gotham will die. So get in the water."
Damian's heart jumped into throat. "Wait-"
"Get in the water."
Father shoved Damian behind him, as if it would protect him, as if he could stop Danyal. "Stop this, please-" If he could just explain-
Another step and the waters surged forward, nearly touching Father's boots. "I'll make whirlpools so profound, your entire family will drown," he promised.
"NO!" Not his brother, his kind brother-
"THEN GET IN THE WATER!" Danyal snarled, revealing monstrously sharp teeth and a black tongue from Damian's poison. "G̴̩͍͆͆̈́e̵̹̣͆t̷̬̋ ̸̻̮̎̒ĭ̸̟̰͙̏̃n̵͙̝̟̋͐ ̸̛̳̃t̶̪̣̅ḣ̸̳̇͜è̵̠̲͖̔̑ ̶̢̹̖͗͐̀w̵̜͍̤̌a̵̬̞͝ṫ̴̩̣̣e̶͉̲̯͂̏̎r̴̉͜!̷̡͔́̀̽" He lunged and Father pushed them back down the passage they'd come. "Don't mistake this for a bluff, brother. You've lived more than enough. Just get in the water." Damian swallowed, throat dry. Was this Danyal's revenge? Did he finally have to face what he had done?
"Robin, who is this?" Father snapped, trying to keep retreating down the cave. But Damian wouldn't let him; the waters, and Danyal with them, would only follow.
Danyal looked between them, scowling. "G̴̩͍͆͆̈́e̵̹̣͆t̷̬̋ ̸̻̮̎̒ĭ̸̟̰͙̏̃n̵͙̝̟̋͐ ̸̛̳̃t̶̪̣̅ḣ̸̳̇͜è̵̠̲͖̔̑ ̶̢̹̖͗͐̀w̵̜͍̤̌a̵̬̞͝ṫ̴̩̣̣e̶͉̲̯͂̏̎r̴̉͜!̷̡͔́̀̽" he snapped again. "I'll take your father and gouge out his eyes, unless you want to stop being a coward and choose to die. Now... get in the water."

thinking about how one of the only things we know about the post-techno era of prison is how c!Dream had apparently, on multiple occasions, broken the glass barrier in the front of his cell
like. look at sam's tone! what a difference, right, from how pedantic he is about security risks earlier in the prison and to anyone outside of it. the air of familiarity to the point where this is just a blip in his routine, how he's straight up telling c!bad to calm down because c!dream isn't escaping. c!dream hints at this too, when he tells c!techno multiple times about how the observers will go off -- coupled with c!sam's reaction, it once again speaks to the idea that this is something that Happened, after the glass got put in.
(it's worth pointing out that despite c!dream saying that all the guards can be summoned, c!ant obviously wasn't around and c!bad seems totally confused, while c!sam is obviously. very used to this. it stands to reason that whoever did deal with this in earlier instances of the glass breaking, c!sam handled the majority of it.)
and you know, disobedience to make c!Sam pay attention to him is far from a new thing in this prison, obviously. but unlike the clock, unlike burning himself in lava, there is nothing about breaking a block of glass with mining fatigue iii that can be easily done on impulse. c!techno demonstrates how long it takes for his maxed out netherite pick to make a single crack, and all c!dream has are his fists. sure, it's easier work than breaking obsidian, but that's still hours of continuous attention. hours of work. hours that would perhaps be more productively spent on trying to break obsidian, like he'd been doing when techno was there, especially because it's not like there were that many observers added into the cell walls. thinking about what he must've thought to himself, chipping at that glass for hours. for no reason other than to bring the Warden back to the prison. to bring him back into his cell. was it a sort of comfort, knowing that he always had that tie to him, if need be? that no matter where c!Sam was on the server, he had this button he could press that would tug him back, that he wouldn't be completely forgotten? it's not like there's much else he could do. it's not like he can make anyone else come back.

Slavery's Exiles - the story of the American Maroons
Tumblr media
The forgotten stories of America maroons―wilderness settlers evading discovery after escaping slavery Over more than two centuries men, women, and children escaped from slavery to make the Southern wilderness their home. They hid in the mountains of Virginia and the low swamps of South Carolina; they stayed in the neighborhood or paddled their way to secluded places; they buried themselves underground or built comfortable settlements. Known as maroons, they lived on their own or set up communities in swamps or other areas where they were not likely to be discovered. Although well-known, feared, celebrated or demonized at the time, the maroons whose stories are the subject of this book have been forgotten, overlooked by academic research that has focused on the Caribbean and Latin America. Who the American maroons were, what led them to choose this way of life over alternatives, what forms of marronage they created, what their individual and collective lives were like, how they organized themselves to survive, and how their particular story fits into the larger narrative of slave resistance are questions that this book seeks to answer. To survive, the American maroons reinvented themselves, defied slave society, enforced their own definition of freedom and dared create their own alternative to what the country had delineated as being black men and women’s proper place. Audacious, self-confident, autonomous, sometimes self-sufficient, always self-governing; their very existence was a repudiation of the basic tenets of slavery.
Amazon has this book and they want a fortune for it

Does Chester have any interesting habits?
yes! he has a few; one i've noticed a lot is that he likes to pick up stones and move them. my best guess is that he chews on them to wear down his teeth, since they never stop growing!
chester also likes to settle down next to ornaments, usually this owl or unicorn that i have :] probably because they're in shaded areas
and like most rabbits, he just loves to chew/eat things he's not supposed to! most famously, he bit a big chunk off a plastic windmill once but of course turned out completely fine because rabbits are just Like That. rabbit owners are god's most stressed soldiers /silly
also bonus image for you of him "hiding" behind a plant pot bcuz he didn't want to go back in yet

Race is the type of guy to create a detailed guide of how he’s going to cheat on a test. Like he goes through the course syllabus and specifically picks out the topic they’re currently learning about, then looks at the course textbook and memorizes all the important events, dates and vocabulary. He writes them down in his notebook, adds annotations, jots down the causes & effects of each event and looks over everything the night before. Then when Test Day comes, hell know all the answers and the teacher won’t be any the wiser!
then race recites his entire cheating plan to spot and spots like: Race that’s just Studying .
