well maybe i was foolish to enough to believe that someone in the ebu would wake up and realise that maybe allowing the participation of a genocidal country with a history of using esc stage for propaganda, isn’t a good idea? i’ve been watching this god forsaken contest for 10 years nothing surprises me about ebus shadiness really. but honesty now that after leading everybody on who might have had a hitch of hope for some moral responsibility on ebus side, i feel disgusted and frankly furious. like i love this show and i can’t change that. love the creation hate the creator type of thing. i’m really sad that money hungry corporations with no regard for any morality always win no matter how loud we may protest.
i won’t be watching esc this year. my mental comfort of watching my favourite show is so insignificant compared to the suffering that palestinians everywhere experience everyday because of israelis genocidal aspirations. ebu is complicit in this genocide. because no EUROVISION WAS NEVER APOLITICAL, NOTHING IS. and this directly represents the death of any humanitarian values that the west prides itself on. contact your broadcasters, join protest near you if you can, don’t stop talking about palestine.
fuck ebu. fuck israel. free palestine 🇵🇸

Only three new Eurovision songs tonight. I feel bad for Ukraine and really hope they can resolve the televoting issues they had. I thought the pre-recorded part of the show was great, none of the acts disappointed live – I look forward to finding out who won (hopefully) tomorrow! However, the rest of the night I think went pretty well.
First up, thank you Norway! I was so glad to see Gåte win, even though it was very close in the end! Their performance was perfect, honestly even better than in the semi for me. Like I said in my most recent ranking, maybe they could lighten the staging slightly, but honestly they could reproduce this exact performance beat for beat at Eurovision and I’ll be happy. Ulveham is easily my favourite of the confirmed songs so far, and I really hope it does well in May.
Spain went for Nebulossa with Zorra. I checked the results of the semi-finals after they happened but didn’t have time to watch them live, so tonight was the first time I got to see all the performances. I am a little disappointed that st Pedro didn’t win, I loved how Dos Extraños was staged, with the silhouetted dancers being very striking, and I also thought he sang it beautifully. I got my hopes up seeing that he won the second semi, but it wasn’t to be in the final. Still, I’m happy enough with Zorra winning. The song isn’t the most impactful for me, but I like the 80s vibes and it’s still a good time. The performance was certainly memorable with a strong visual identity, and while I’m not expecting this to be a huge contender at Eurovision it definitely has its niche.
Finally, Sarah Bonnici won in Malta with her song Loop. I wasn’t too fussed by this selection, but I thought this entry had potential. Sarah’s a confident performer, and hopefully will bring it even more so at Eurovision itself. The song does feel a little bit to me like it’s trying to be Slo Mo, and it’s not a genre I tend to enjoy, but as an entry I think it’s decent, and of the options available I think this was probably the best choice Malta could have made.
