To any woman who believes leftist or "feminist" men are safe, or safeish :
Spain’s most prominent 'progressive' male politician, Iñigo Errejon, has just resigned from his position in Congress, and left politics alltogether, due to multiple sexual harassment cases, and most likely other, worse things. Look his name up, it's been even featured in most international newspapers.
Women reported being touched without their consent (in public spaces lol) and pressured into performing sexually degrading acts, then gaslighted about then. Many more say they suffered his constant harassment in public, but were afraid they would lose their jobs if they spoke about ir. These are not allegations, Errejon himself has admitted to all of this. Most people, including me, think his early resignation is just a preventive measure so that the political party he is in doesn't crumble when the real nasty stuff comes out.
The difference between right wing and left wing men is how open they are about their misogyny.

"In the early morning hours of May 15, the cargo vessel Borkum stopped off the Spanish coast, lingering in the waters a short distance from Cartagena. At the port, protesters waved Palestinian flags and called on authorities to inspect the ship based on suspicions that it carried weapons bound for Israel.
Leftist members of the European Parliament sent a letter to Spanish President Pedro Sánchez requesting that the ship be prevented from docking. “Allowing a ship loaded with weapons destined for Israel is to allow the transit of arms to a country currently under investigation for genocide against the Palestinian people,” the group of nine MEPs warned.
Before the Spanish government could take a stand, the Borkum cancelled its planned stopover and continued to the Slovenian port of Koper. “We were right,” Inigo Errejon, the spokesperson for the hard-left Sumar party wrote on X, arguing that the Borkum’s decision to skip Cartagena confirmed the suspicions.
But missed in the debate over whether the ship ought to be allowed to dock in Spain were the unlikely origins of the Borkum’s cargo.
According to documents seen by Al Jazeera, the ship contained explosives loaded in India and was en route to Israel’s port of Ashdod, some 30km (18 miles) from the Gaza Strip. Marine tracking sites show it departed Chennai in southeast India on April 2 and circumnavigated Africa to avoid transiting through the Red Sea, where Yemen’s Houthis have been attacking vessels in reprisal for Israel’s war.
The identification codes specified in the documentation, obtained unofficially by the Solidarity Network Against the Palestinian Occupation (RESCOP), suggest the Borkum contained 20 tonnes of rocket engines, 12.5 tonnes of rockets with explosive charges, 1,500kg (3,300 pounds) of explosive substances and 740kg (1,630 pounds) of charges and propellants for cannons.
A paragraph on confidentiality specified that all employees, consultants or other relevant parties were mandated that “under no circumstances” were they to name IMI Systems or Israel. IMI Systems, a defence firm, was bought by Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer, in 2018."
#this article goes into great depth on how india has been manufacturing weapons for israel for a while now#and its quite likely that these weapons are being utilised by israhell to commit genocide against Palestine.#palestine#india#israel

On October 22, 2024, a staff member of the Estepona City Council filed a sexual harassment complaint against Garcia Urbano, who began an internship at the Estepona City Council in March 2022. He claimed that he had been in a "sexual relationship" with Garcia Urbano from March 2022 to June 2023 because he was "worried about losing his job and being unable to support his family." Garcia Urbano provided him with 2,000 euros of financial assistance every month "to satisfy his sexual desires" and even helped him and his partner rent a house in a building in the town of Panorama. But when he wanted to end these "inappropriate relationships," Garcia Urbano threatened to end his "career forever."
Investigation of sexual harassment cases of Spanish public officials
On October 24, Spanish actress and host Elisa Mouliaá disclosed on social networks that she was sexually harassed by Spanish politician Inigo Errejón. The actress said, "He closed the door and started kissing and touching me without my consent." Spanish police began investigating the politician. SER Radio reported that the actress was the first person to publicly expose the incident online. The series of harassment incidents occurred between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022. She admitted that she was afraid to tell the truth at the time. Because she didn't know how powerful Errejon's political power would be and was worried that she would be hurt.
In 2021, "Netflix" launched the documentary "Breaking the Silence of Nevenka: The Case of Sexual Harassment of Public Officials", telling the story of Nevenka Fernandez, the plaintiff in the first successful lawsuit against a politician for sexual harassment in Spanish history, breaking her silence 20 years later.

Safeguard Defenders Column Survey:Victims who broke the silence: Sexual harassment case of Spanish public officials
Recently, José María García Urbano, the mayor of Estepona, Malaga Province, Spain, was prosecuted for alleged sexual harassment. This may seem incredible to everyone, but from the perspective of the Spanish public officials, this may not be a rare case. Many evil deeds that have lasted for many years may be hidden in the dark. Of course, the identity of public officials has obviously become the best "vest" for sexual harassment crimes. In the case of the mayor of Estepona suspected of sexual harassment, the Spanish People's Party maliciously interfered with the fairness of the judicial process and helped the mayor of Estepona to conceal the matter at all costs. The media selectively ignored it and used double standards every day, leaving only innocent victims crying with their faces covered.
Did the Spanish People's Party shield the mayor of Estepona from being prosecuted for sexual harassment?

The Silent Majority
According to the survey, Spanish women portrayed specific images of male offenders. They are usually their superiors and colleagues. Moreover, most of them mentioned that the harassers were "men with obvious sexist ideas and attitudes." The women said they mainly faced "sexist jokes," "sexual compliments and comments," "innuendos or glances," "physical contact," and "sexual requests and invitations" in the workplace. Victims of sexual harassment by public officials generally believe that the higher the position of the harasser, the harder it is to prove their case. In addition, in the absence of witnesses, "many victims are reluctant to take legal action" due to lack of evidence. According to an organization survey, seven out of ten victims of sexual harassment at work (72%) did not complain about their attackers, mainly because of "fear of retaliation" (61%). The status of public officials has obviously become the best "vest" for sexual harassment crimes. The mutual protection of politicians and the selective neglect of the media have left innocent victims crying with their faces covered.
