ERA 0 Ghouls!

I think these are right (I cant really tell)

idk I have a strange obsession with era 0. We should totally give these guys a name!! We should also give more of the era 1 and 2 ghouls names as well. Era 0, 1, and 2 are my favorite eras.

I’m sure some mutuals already know this cause we have mentioned it in discord servers and stuff but like. Era 0 ghouls. Silly guys. Don’t know any of their names. Except for the bassist. He is a water ghoul and his name is Bay. We love Bay. He was Nihil’s weird little frog. Was oddly protective of Primo and later Secondo. We have him here and he is lovely. Petition to name him Bay colloquially.

A chain of thoughts lead me to naming Nihil's Ghouls. I know it's usually Ignis, Terra, etc.. But consider instead the fixed signs in astrology.

Aquarius - Air (I know)

Leo - Fire

Scorpio - Water

Taurus - Earth

Umbra - Quintessence

Alternatively, maybe the Cardinal signs?

Libra

Aries

Cancer

Capricorn

Animus

And what if the Cirice Ghouls were the Mutable signs??

Gemini

Virgo

Pisces

Sagittarius

Astrum

No the Quint ghouls aren't signs but just what if?

...What if a mix???

I personally don’t like calling the ghouls by just their element since, for example, the name ‘water’ gets used for multiple different water ghouls.

What I do propose is that Nihil’s band was called by just their basic elements because back then ghouls weren’t really seen as anything more than servants.

I noticed, after a long hibernation, that Papa Nihil's Ghouls have been making waves! I get so excited about the name suggestions for them! If you have stories to share, please do so too! I would love to know!

Year Zero Nameless Ghouls' ….Names

[SECRETS FROM THE CLERGY]

It is still law to refer to Ghouls as "Nameless Ghouls", this is due to the purpose for which they were brought to Earth.

However, it is human nature to need to name everything and everyone. It was no different with the first Ghouls in the service of the Ghost project.

There are few written records, and all of them are from diaries or unofficial documents that Siblings of Sin left written. I gathered them all up together and concluded that the following names may have once been of the Ghouls of Year Zero:

Fire Ghoul – Agarat

Named after the similarities with the demon of the same name, who teaches languages, holds fugitives, has the ability to generate earthquakes and is endowed with the honour of bestowing noble titles.

Agarat is, immediately after Special, the ghoul who has the greatest facility with human languages. He is the one who often verbally conveys the needs and quirks of creatures like him so that humans can understand them.

After much hesitation, along with the Water Ghoul, he was one of the first to go to Papa Nihil to comfort him, breaking the old strict rules imposed by the Clergy that they could never ever, unless it is an emergency or required, be in the same room as humans.¹

Water Ghoul – Icarus

An incident witnessed by the Siblings of Sin on a full moon dawn, the Water Ghoul was named as the mythological figure after he leapt from a tree into the great lake of the Abbey with the membranes of his infernal form open.

He is, by the nature of his element, one of the most empathetic. He was the one who went against the rules of the hierarchy for the first time and entered Papa Nihil's room after the fateful day he and Sister Imperator ended their relationship.

He likes to cook, for some unknown reason. However, it never goes well and was the reason for the Ghouls' total ban from working in the kitchen.¹

Earth Ghoul – Rime

Not only is he called that because of his very good rhythmic sense, but because he likes to read and, under the influence of all the poetry books read, he involuntarily speaks in rhyme. At first, Siblings of Sin thought it funny, and then they often dared to go and talk to him just to hear him "talk like a Shakespearean character".¹

He is one of the strictest sticklers for the rules, choosing to stay in his room and appear to the humans only when absolutely necessary. The old cabin where the Earth Ghouls stayed during their heat was built by him, after he nearly collapsed the dungeons when he also activated the Fire Ghoul's heat.²

Air Ghoul – Citrus

Also obsessed with cooking¹, but he didn't know how to peel oranges and tangerines and squeeze them, spreading them everywhere. The smell didn't leave his skin for the next two weeks, as his skin is very porous and absorbs strong odours for a long time.

Three weeks later, the same thing happened with lemons and it was Sister Imperator herself who addressed him as Citrus. In fact, she wrinkled her nose at the strong odour, questioning "Citrus?" more to herself than anyone else. He had come to inform her that Papa Nihil requested her presence in his office, and answered her very simply to the (rhetorical) question "Yes, Ma'am." The Sibling of Sin who heard, began to call him that.

And here I leave you with this information. If you wish, I can share some more curiosities. Just tell me what you want to know that I will search for all the answers to the last book in the library.

I remind you, however, that it is possible that there are other names by which they referred to these ghouls. If you have any information, don't be shy to share it!
