Mad love to the survivors and their supporters that came out today to demand that #ZombieHouse , a white-owned gentrifying bar in #Flatbush be shutdown. It is incredibly alarming to hear from people who live/ work within the block Parkside and Woodruff on #FlatbushAve , talk about other incidents where Black women have them punched by a Zombie House bouncer or have also experienced sexual violence inside the establishment . We understand how difficult it is to come forward with these stories, so we truly appreciate everyone who has called #EqualityforFlatbush to report an incident . So much thanks to @mykeena and @njamba_juice for being the catalysts for holding @zombies_of_flatbush accountable for being a violent predatory space for Black women. Join Equality for Flatbush’s #NoCommunityOccupation Mapping Campaign every Thursday at 8pm!

As a community group dedicated to fighting gentrification, racism, and police violence, Equality for Flatbush has seen that "Community Policing" is nothing more than an excuse to put more police on our blocks, and further harass, intimidate and criminalize residents all while property values go up, people are driven from their homes, and the need for unarmed social services increases. 

Equality for Flatbush is calling on community members to help fill in the gaps of information that the NYPD refuses to provide. This information can be used to help local Copwatchers know where they are most needed, to better distribute resources towards Police accountability in the community, and for the community to tell the NYPD that their harassment is not welcome here. This will also give us the information to begin dismantling this community occupation!

TAKE A PICTURE of NYPD presence in your neighborhood

Indicate what STREET CORNER or block that NYPD is occupying either on foot or in their cars 

POST the photo on SOCIAL MEDIA using the hashtag #NoCommunityOccupation: 

You can also use other police accountability hashtags such as  : #WatchTheCops #EndBrokenWindows,  #NoCopZone

The goal is to generate a map and data that tracks NYPD occupation of our communities
