Emotion (s5) doesn’t really make a lot of sense to me writing-wise. I think Felix’s plan and execution was weird, but… damn it was FUN. It makes so sense, but if I wasn’t vibing with it the whole episode.

Kagami accidentally insulting Lila (“you’re just a stone”)? Vibing.

A bizarre wealthy-person masquerade as a social commentary? Vibing.

Amelie yelling at Gabriel? Vibing.

“Adrien” and Kagami’s banter before their dance? Vibing.

Marinette dancing with “Adrien,” then immediately getting hostile when she learns he’s Felix? Vibing.

Felix having a Disney-villain style musical number in the streets as he Thanos-snaps everyone? Vibing.

Adrien blowing up at Felix? Vibing. (he’s earned that so bad)

Felix having a mental breakdown on a roof? Vibing.

Plot-wise, I have a few issues, but I can honestly say I am so happy to ignore them because I just had a BLAST watching it. Top-tier episode. 10/10. 5 stars.

Style Queen's opening has some hilarious angles if you can ignore the horrors & child abuse:

Audrey: Fire him, fuck you for speaking to me, this gift wrapping is ridiculous! You are fired! Chloe: Sorry mom :( Gabriel: She's perfect, she will be my ultimate Akuma!

(Has his staff piss her off at a show where his son is performing)

Style Queen: Tell me where you rat fuck dad, Gabriel is so I can murder him for the disrespect I endured! Adrien: Never! Audrey: Die.

(Turns him into a screaming, slowly disintegrating statue)

Gabriel: Wait! Fuck! No! You weren't meant to do that!

Style Queen: Murder crowd, murder my husband, murder my child- Chloe: I know where Gabriel is & you're too cool to waste time killing me, right!? Style Queen: Sufficient ass kissing & usefulness threshold reached. You get to live. For now.

(Ladybug arrives to battle!)

Ladybug: Don't worry everyone, I got this! Audrey: Or so you thought! Ladybug: Oh no, I don't got this!

(Ladybug is Helpless)

Gabriel: OK, stay calm, I can make this work! I can fix Adrien, then bring back my wife. Chloe: Uh, Style Queen, is Ladybug really worth your valuable time? Style Queen: Hmm...

Gabriel: No! NO! NO! Chloe: Besides, I can show you where Gabriel is! Style Queen: Deal.

Gabriel: NOOOOOOOOOO!

the single BEST moment in MLB hands down is hawkmoth has the villain holding ladybug at the top of the building, adrien plummeting towards the ground, and Gabriel waiting agonizing second by agonizing second, watching his SON approach the concrete, waiting for chat noir to show up and save the day, and he's not and where is he? at this rate, Gabriel is so used to being defeated, to losing, that to see his son even getting close to the same failure he experiences at the hands of these heroes every single day is just completely inconceivable. him? curses, yeah, but routine. but adrien? his cruel bargaining chip? his bait? his SON? and chat noir isn't there. he doesn't come. and finally, finally, rationality wins out against disbelief and he commands the villain to drop ladybug. he lets her go TO SAVE HIS OWN SON AGAINST HIMSELF

AND THAT DOESNT EVEN GET INTO THE LADRIEN MOMENT... I think its the first proper ladrien moment in the entire series, adrien surviving near death, in the arms of his lady, and marinette so fucking terrified seconds earlier that she was going to watch the love of her life (lol) die in front of her eyes (cringe teenager crush but like traumatic nonetheless) now lowering him down to safety and they're staring into each others eyes, and why the fuck did hawkmoth let him go? and Gabriel HAD THE LADYBUG MIRACULOUS IN HIS GRASP BUT HE LET IT GO FOR ADRIEN AND IM CRAZY IM FUCKING CRAZY!!

Just remembered there is no other Mr Agreste than Gabriel and Adrien since Gabriel changed his legal name… The episode is HAS to be about one of them.

I’m betting Gabriel since that would be an overly formal way of referring to Adrien (I don’t think Adrien would find out abt Hawkmoth mid season though, so maybe more backstory??), unless it’s about him being the heir of his fashion empire and whatever his mom’s side of the family has left him? They’re royalty so there has to be some kind of heritage??
