A couple episodes in the first season of the pokemon anime are a little weird theme wise.
I've found that usually these pokemon episodes can be put into three categories, lessons that are important and are executed well that drives the theme correctly with the contents of the episode, lessons that are in theory good but the execution was done poorly, or episodes where they just dogpile onto the character that needs to learn a lesson but doesn't actually make that character be in the wrong.
Like a good episode in my opinion with a good theme and execution would be tentacool and tentacruel. With its theme about environmental issues, and how if you don't take care of the environment the environment will take care of you. And it's perfect with how Nastina tries to destroy the environment for greed, and how the main characters don't actually do anything to fix it and instead are bystanders to the destruction. And how the tentacruel tries to destroy the city for destroying their home, and it only got better after the people promised to get better, and how they took care of Nastina who was the main driving force to the issue. That's a good episode and how they deal with the theme.
A poorly done episode that's about being dogpiled on the character who learns the lesson would be challenge of the samurai boy. In the episode ash doesn't technically do anything bad, the entire time any mistake he's done was because it was forced by another character. Like how ash let that weedle escape, because a guy jumped out of nowhere to shove a sword in his face. So ash did what any normal person would do and focus on that instead of the small bug. Then when metapod gets kidnapped by the beedrill ash tries to go after it but is dragged away from chasing those beedrill by misty. He didn't want to leave metapod and it wasn't his fault. Then by the end of the episode he learns that he needs to take accountability for his actions. Which is a good lesson to learn, but is completely dragged down in the episode by the fact that ash isn't actually in the wrong. He never actually abandoned metapod, and spent almost every moment after metapod got grabbed thinking and worrying about it before taking the first opportunity he had to try and get it back. I feel like the better way to do that episode would be for ash to have actually been at fault for metapods abduction. Maybe ash wasn't paying enough attention to it, or maybe he did something that directly led to the beedrill coming after them like doing something stupid like being too loud or eating something like honey to bring them to him after he was specifically told not to. Like actually making ash responsible for his actions and the theme comes across so much better. Then ash needs to take accountability and the lesson is much better.
An episode who has a good lesson, but just goes about it in a poorly done way would be the case of the k9 capers. Ash needing to appreciate Pikachu as it is is a good lesson, but it's kinda done badly about the fact that training with the canines isn't a bad idea. Like this whole episode starts about the thief having a gun meaning it would be too dangerous for Pikachu to fight him. Makes sense, anyone going against an armed enemy without the proper training is dangerous. And Team Rocket and other people have threatened them and other people with guns. Like the squirtle episode where Team Rocket use heavy machine guns, or ash gets threatened by like 7 people at once with guns. And in the legend of dratini episode ash and the rest of the people are threatened by that guy multiple times with guns. Training Pikachu to be able to take on an armed opponent would be looking back on those experiences thinking back and going, “well this has been a problem that we haven't been able to respond well to in the past, lets learn from those and do our best to fix those mistakes.” which is good to do. And I get the lesson is about how ash needs to stop comparing Pikachu to other pokemon and appreciate Pikachu as it is. But ash isn't actually in the wrong for thinking that Pikachu could improve, because pikachu can, so can ash. I feel like it would be better to instead of doing the appreciate Pikachu theme, it would be instead about how Pikachu can only improve if ash improves himself. Like how Satoshi keeps making comments about how ash wants Pikachu to be more brave like the Growlithe, or be as tough. It would be interesting to compare ash to Officer Jenny through the episode like ash was doing with Pikachu and Growlithe. Like the obstacle course Satoshi had to run, make it so that Pikachu was doing well in the obstacle course, but had to stop and wait for ash to keep up, meaning they lost. Then at the end make the two run the obstacle course again, this time ash manages to keep up, and the two work together better, thus getting a better score. Drive the theme that a pokemon can only be as good as a trainer, and this would make it even better for later episodes with ash and Charizard, with ash understanding that ash needs to be better for Charizard to listen. And then the charizard arc can go through interesting themes that further drive down this theme, like ash needing to be better at taking care of pokemon, or charizard needing to give ash a chance to be better then shutting him out at every opportunity. Or on the other side, if you want to keep the theme of ash needing to appreciate Pikachu better do something where ash keeps making comments alluding to different pokemon, like having ash prefer bulbasaur for battles, or charizard. And make comments about how bulbasaur is a lot braver than Pikachu, or how charizard is a lot stronger. And by the end with a Team Rocket battle, Charizard refuses to battle, Bulbasaur isn't strong enough, and Pikachu steps up and stands with ash. Ash realizes that Pikachu is its own pokemon and shouldn't be compared and that pikachu is great the way it was. That way ash is actually being unreasonable and that ash needed to actually appreciate Pikachu.
Though I am glad to say that there's a lot less of the dogpiling episodes as the season goes on which I'm glad about. It wasn't fun to watch characters constantly bash ash for being ten or having some annoying traits. Like bragging is something that needs to be addressed, so does whining. But the series does go a bit overboard with hammering in that lesson for ash. It's one thing to be whiny because you lost a pokemon battle out of your own volition. It's another thing to be upset because you lost the pokemon league after being kidnapped, tiring out your pokemon to escape being kidnapped, and then barely not being disqualified because you were late to your match because you were kidnapped. Like that's something to be genuinely upset about, but the series makes it seem like ash is in the wrong to be upset about it.

Do you ever read a post where someone is explaining a pokitical thing and from the way they're saying you know with absolute certainty 1) they got their info from a tumblr post and have never actually followed up on how feasible that information actually is to act upon (they may not even have checked if it was CORRECT, but when they do they have clearly not looked into how easy or hard it may be to follow those instructions with a positive outcome), and 2) you know WHICH tumblr post they're quoting because it is basically a copy/paste of it, and 3) it was YOUR goddamn post and the thing they are saying is entirely counter to the point you were making when you said it to the point that you genuinely wonder if they just like. Memory-holed the entire context once they saw that one itty bitty point.
It's like the motherfuckiny dating apps all over again. I do not want people to love my words if they are not actually willing to do the work of understanding them! Didn't your kindergarten ever make you play Telephone to teach you how heresay falls out????

Ngl the episode with Dani's return in Danny Phantom really makes me more annoyed that A Glitch In Time really went and tried to redeem Vlad.
#and dark danny#but like mainly annoyed with vlad#cause throughout the show hes your standard evil villain#whose obsessed with maddie who he cannot have#and then danny who he also cannot have#he basically does alot of evil shit#and the whole finale is him going beyond redemption#but when it comes to dani you got him cloning danny constantly until he does finally get dani#but instead of just focusing on creating a family with her#he still obsesses over danny#and basically is fine with the idea of disgarding her if he succeeds at cloning danny#and literally was fine with telling her to overshadow danny#despite knowing it would kill her and she obviously doesnt want to die#and in her return episode basically wants her captured so he can disect her and make a perfect clone#and dont care about her even when shes dying basically#hell in this episode we see she has trauma from her debut episode#having to reassure herself vlad isnt here#like how the fuck did the book think vlad was redeemable again#no wonder dani didnt appear in the book#the book would either be barf inducing with forcing her to forgive him or...actually thats it#it'd be bad#and dont get me started on trying to redeem dark danny#just...why the fuck did the villains need redeeming in this book...

Magnis Archives Fear Disection!
----------------‐-------------------------------
TW: gore, animal violence, parental death, murder, road kill, paranoia, my own typeos and spelling errors
I'm curious if ppls real fears changed or stayed the same after mag.
----------------‐-------------------------------
Does anyone else have an ick that over powers their fear ? Like, with the Magnus Archives, I dont ever skip any content unless it really forces me down. There are maybe 4 or so episodes I've never listened to despite running the full podcast through 3 times (including interviews!)
But it isnt my deeply rooted fears that break me its the stuff that is too gross to handle visualizing, like the animal violence. Its crazy I'll never know what happens to meat on the killing floor and that British man cannot make me! The moment he starts going on about collective animal anguish across the planet I am reaching, fumbling for my phone.
Which leads me to one of my favorite questions to ask other fans!
1. Do you find one of the fear categories to be the worst ? Did it change over the run of the podcast ? How do you define one fear as greater than another ?
I assumed issues dealing with mental health, feeling dirty, or the literal episodes that mimic symptoms from my disorders but it turns out I find it irrational to consider anything scarier than just striaght up being gored or burned alive. I thought the horrors of my mind were the worst, but after Mag, you can lock me up and play bad doctor any day. Just keep that cow murder shit away from me !!
I always go back and forth on if this means my fear of physical violence is greater or just more pratical? Where do you guys fall? *tw! Ive always found the mag fandom to be nothing but safe and friendly so I'll overshare a bit so you can really see the riddle here: my mental health symptoms make visual images a real danger to me so I cant ever FULLY decide if its the fear of the gore im seeing or the upsetting implications. Road kill is very common but if I can't look away from it while driving it can be enough drop me down. If you have general anxiety, imagine trying to tell yourself not to think about something because it'll upset you. Probably won't work, and if you think it is mostly visuals, that means you keep pinging the picture back to the front of your mind. For me, road kill is gross and but its also tragic and triggering because of the real and horrific murder of my own mother. For me, the fact that we are driving past something we know is dead and is left open like that just cannot be handled. As you can imagine thats no good if you are trying to keep up with functioning in real life bc it just isn't possible for society to accommodate your level of sensativity to stimulation. (which , lol, yeah thats just what it means to be mentall ill) My point is just that examining the show is really enjoyable because it lets me disect the cross points of fears safetly.
Also, I got to be a random named background character from supporting the paeron and I!!! didnt!!!! die!!! to!!!! bugs!!!!!!!!! So its a victory !!!! I can tell you which episode if want I ended up with a crazy fun random imo.
Actually, after some reflection I dont mind the spiral people who dont want you to sleep, but I'd actually firmly like the bitch who burns people until their bones melt to leave my house asap.
#over sharing before the sun rises#sorry about spelling idk how to turn it back on me phone#the magnus archives#tma#the magnus protocol#I love thinking about fears as groups because it never lines up as cleanly for youraelf as youd expect#I got killed by the bobo knock off if ppl want to know#maybe i didnt die its implied tho#being a random background character in this podcast is one of the greatest joys of my life#jon sims

April and Donnie dynamic duo thoughts, go!! 🎙
i love their dynamic but all of their episodes together end up making me mad on april's behalf LMAOOOOOO
#ask#i swear its specifically april and donnie because no other dynamic gets that kind of secondhand frustration out of me#for the record their bestieship is SOOO important to me. but sometimes he gets so condescending and it makes him very kickable lmfao#april doesnt take his nonsense though. at least. which is funny#you know what i think they were in desperate need of? a trio episode where they were straight manning together i think

DREAMZZZ SEASON 3 OFFICIAL TRAILER OVERANALYSIS
THE ONE PIECE DREAM SEASON 3 TRAILER OVER ANALYSIS IS REAL!!!
im doing this on my laptop AND this will include information from the leaked season 3 ep descriptions to try and connect the dots. ANALYSIS UNDER THE CUT!
if you want to watch the trailer before the overanalysis:
youtube
right of the bat, the dream world looks way more diffrent! maybe its because wildbrain is animating the season now and resulting in higher quality, or maybe (based on the 2nd image) its a result of the dream realms being put in diffrent places and thus having different wildlife, structures ect.
wildoria still has the king clawdious statues from season 2.
the result of the dream realms merging can be seen here where there are cupcake monsters in the grim realm instead of grimspawn. Maybe the candy realm merged with the grim realm resulting in evil candy creatures lurking? ( petition to see nk statue covered in candy)
mateo sweeping with a z-mop!
MORE BEAU CONTENT!!! he seems WAY more diffrent and more hippie/at peace. Hopefully he gets properly redeemed in this season. Glad to see they didnt forget about the fact beau and zoey still have to work on their dad and daughter relatonship.
oh. this ones hard. Zoey says "heartbreak" when this scene plays and logan has a dreamsmasher bear plushie( I NEED IT), so maybe astrid and logan had a falling out? and the plushie was a gift? ( CURSE YOU TOMMY!!!)
cooper making a robot buddy! Zoey says" yearning for peers with a similarly high iq" over this so maybe cooper is looking for smarter freinds/allies. (dream slide!!!)
we get to see the happy app hq ( which is HUGE and looks way to advanced for brooklyn) and jose working for it now! idk why he would choose to work here, maybe now he needs 2 jobs?
and based on the episode desc leaks, this will cause problems for the dream chasers later in the future.
dreamsmashers face glitches a bit here due to acceleration.
izzie seems to be a HUGE fan of dreamsmasher, wonder how long that admiration gets crushed!
mateo being clearly jealous of dreamsmasher doing all the work as stated by zoey. (MY GOAT)
SO MUCH TO DISECT!
first, we izzie being a massive dreamsmasher stan( dream-stan?) as he announces his campaign for dream keeper.
we also see the night bureau arena looking diffrent, with the sun and candle logo we saw on mateos dream consultant uniform and more dream creatures in the stands such as gummy bears.
we get to see a look at the game tower being placed atop of the dream forge...oh no.
as oz states:" The towers are sucking out all the creativity, like a parasite!" This could be connected to the cyber villains and possibly dreamsmashers master plan.
teo and logan!
i also just noticed this, but there are grimspawn and people ( most likeley the night bureau) holding flashlights. as if in a search
mateo also says" we gotta get there before he does!" most likely refering to dreamsmasher.
logan jumping infront of a knitting vehicle/car in a canyon like area. This is most likeley the 'diffrent version of the dunes of duraluma' stated in the longer episode synopsis
^the sky looks diffrent from the duraluma we saw in season 2 which was a night sky.
dreamsmasher flying in what is most likely the cyber realm/ a place corrupted by the cyber corruption
oz and alberts new outfits! We also get to see the effects of the cyber corruption from the dream towers, which completley drains the realm of creativity and color.
coopers new hellicopter! it shoots out paint!
we get to see the 'meanie screenies' from the whack race 2025 longer ep synopsis which have a clark kent type of good disquise. the heart isnt fooling anyone bro
a game tower surrounded by cyberlings, meanie screenies, AND DREAMSMASHER!
albert running into a car and it EXPLODING! it also looks pixelated.
we are able to see more of the new canyon realm up close, which has cactuses. We also see the truck lo lo jumped on earlier which has a sewing type design and a driver. its being chased by zoey and izzie with bunchurro.
loop dee loops!! wooooo!!!
and the final shot we get of z-car and mateo holding on for dear life.
what we can get from this trailer+leaks and shorts:
After the dream realms changed places, it caused changes with dream creatures and enviorments with dream realms. With dreamsmasher in the game, hes smashing all problems for the night bureau, meaning mateo and the gang has nothing to do.
Astrid and logan have a falling out, beau and zoey are bonding more, cooper is building more robotics, izzie is fangirling over dreamsmasher and mateo and izzies dad now works at happy app hq. Dreamsmasher is also running for dream keeper which can cause problems for oz, albert and even night hunter.
Mateo is spying on dreamsmasher to find dirt on him, which results in him neglecting z-blob.
The cyber villains main goal is to digitize and drain the dream world of creativity, with dream smasher somehow involved. Dreamsmasher could just be a pawn in a bigger beings master plan.
ok my laptop is dying and my fingers are burining but thanks so much for reading!!

Amanda Overton on the seduction of Mel towards Jayce.
https://x.com/waywardcxnnibal/status/1908106165155758572
So I’ve been rewatching this video and I may have judged Overton a little too harshly. I think it’s bc the fans that hate Mel and call her a cold hearted manipulator uses Amanda’s statement to prove their point.
Similar to the way homophobic fans that didn’t want Jayce and Viktor to be shipped by using Linke’s talk on JayVik causing fans to call him homophobic even tho he never said you can’t ship them.
So I’m going to disect what Amanda Overton says and why I don’t think it aligns with what the Mel-haters pov.
(TLDR is at the bottom)
1. “She’s seducing Jayce to become her sort of political tool. It ends with an actual seduction at the end of the episode”
Her saying this and Jayce and Mel’s sextech scene in the background does make it look like she’s saying that the sex scene was Mel seducing Jayce to be her political tool. But I don’t think so.
Amanda, right before the quote, says she wrote episode 5. So that means EVERYTHING in episode 5 and the sex scene isn’t the only thing that happens during that ep.
I don’t think “Mel seduces Jayce to become her political tool” is referring to the sex scene but rather to the corruption scene. My reason:
1. The definition of “seducing someone” can mean:

This aligns well with the corruption scene bc Jayce was against it. He wouldn’t usually consider risking the safety of the hexgates for deals as he says. But Mel “seduces Jayce” to do this by making the idea of the corruption “attractive and difficult to refuse”. She says doing this will allow him to shape his own destiny, which he wanted.
He even vents to Viktor about not being able to decide what they wanna do with hextech: “it’s time we decide the future of hextech” in ep 4.
He was a “sort of” political tool for Mel bc Mel wanted piltover to be great, to earn her families name, and Hextech was a tool to do that. And who makes hextech? Jayce (and Viktor but Jayce is the one making deals).
Now this isn’t necessarily a bad thing bc tutors can be used as academic tools. You get tutored, and the tutor gets paid. Mel makes piltover rich and earns the Medarda name, and Jayce gets more control over hextech. Transactional.
2. “Ends with seduction at the end”
Notice the order of what Amanda says. She says she seduces him to be her political tool “sort of”. AND THEN it becomes seduction AT THE END.
Mel and Jayce engage in the corruption of the hexgates and council before, and they have sex at the end.
When Amanda says “seduction”, I was under the impression that it’s deception she’s doing. But that may not be the case.

This is from an article that explains the difference between seduction and coercion.
This is what Mel does. They are already attracted to each other and Mel touches his hand, they’re in his house, and she kisses him. This is all to get him to have sex with her. Not for a motive, but bc he’s hot and she’s attracted.
Amanda does say: “it ends with an actual seduction at the end of the episode. Mel is doing all of that with an agenda.”
Now this could still mean that the sex was also for an agenda. She had sex with Jayce as a way to gain more power.
But it doesn’t make sense bc 1. Mel and Jayce are already attracted to each other. 2. Mel was upset when Jayce leaves her. 3. where do we see that? She didn’t need sex to make him engage in corruption and after the sex, Jayce shocks her twice from his impulsive decisions.
So I think she’s referring to the corruption, making him a councilor. but this doesn’t make her bad. Everything she does is with the agenda to earn her family name. But this doesn’t mean she plays Jayce like a puppet tho. Or she’s deceiving Jayce.
2. “My favorite thing about Mel is she defies expectations”
Our expectations
Amanda says she was “kind of” set up to be a “femme fatale” trope. “And that’s what you think you’re gonna get with Mel…This politician…presented one way but is another. Kind of lies to get what she wants.”
The femme fatale trope is basically a “beautiful and enigmatic female character who uses her charms and attractiveness as means to her nefarious ends.”
Important characteristics of this are “conventionally attractive” and “sneakily seductive”.

Mel is introduced like this. Beautiful, deceptive (by the birthday gift for the councilor), using her looks to get what she wants (example: distracting the guards so Jayce and Viktor can break in the lab), introduced as an ally (siding with Jayce and helping Jayce and Viktor break in), charms the protagonist (Jayce is impressed when she distracts the guard, stares at her when they discover hextech).
The corruption scene as well. Seducing him to engage in corruption which fits the “prod him into compromising situations for her own benefit.”
So, we the audience thinks she’s the character that ends up bringing a demise to Jayce. Jayce is in trouble. He should run. She’s out to get him. He’s just a stepping stone to something greater bc that’s how femme fatale usually work.
Defying expectations
“And then you realize she’s actually just as vulnerable as everyone else”
Mel feels bad for Viktor dying, explains she’s an exile from her family and comforts Jayce in his time of mourning the episode after. This isn’t what the usually femme fatales do.
She’s against the idea to vote out Heimerdinger but does. She seeks jayce, asks if he’s ok and comforts Jayce on his shame of voting out Heimerdinger.
You learn that she seeks diplomatic solutions, What her mother prides in, Her pragmatic pacifism, and her compassion for ppl.
“She gets to be a more complicated more nuanced version of that trope”
So that’s what I think. Sorry for the long read.
TLDR: Amanda is not saying that Mel is a the cold hearted manipulator that uses Jayce and plays him like a cheap kazoo like Mel-haters think. She’s not saying their romantic relationship was nothing but a means to an end or that it was just a guise to get Jayce to do what she wants.
This link was rly good in defining the femme fatal and different twists to add to it and it looks like arcane used this article lol:
#arcane#mel medarda#amanda overton#mel defense#Jayce talis#MelJay#Mel an Jayce#femme fatale#maybe Amanda doesn’t hate Mel#Mel is not the cold-hearted manipulative snake

Hi sorry for asking im just genuinely curious, what are all the changes you'd make to the sun/ moon anime? Stuff like lusamine, guzma, etc. I love seeing you pop up in the guzma tag to rant abt how they butchered my guy, and im curious of all the stuff you'd personally change abt the anime bc it. It has problems. Sorry again for asking i just love disecting my fav media and discussing its flaws and how to better them!!!!
The biggest change would be letting Lusamine be a villain which in turn would let just about every character that got shafted actually get to have their stories.
Not shying away from her abuse which caused both Gladion and Lillie to runaway from home taking pokemon that were tortured by Lusamine with them. (Hell, you could even hint at some of the issues in Alolan society with overlooking/not talking about or helping with abuse)
Getting rid of the pokemon school angle since, the trial captains literally have only approximately an 8 year window that they can be trial captains if the age cut-off is twenty and folks are expected to start their island challenge at 11. Those kids don't have the time to be dicking around at school, especially not the older ones like Kiawe and Mallow. Like, being a trial captain is a huge fucking honor in their society and they'd likely prioritize it over other stuff. Also, I don't care for nerfing characters for no good reason.
Storywise, I think using a combination of the story from the Sun/Moon game with some of the stuff from the Manga version of the story that managed to use stuff from Ultra without downplaying Lusamine's shit could make for the best adaption of the story with a few tweaks. -> Instead of the pokemon school plot, why not have Ash try his hand at being a research assistant? It'd be something new to do with him, give him a reason to be around and work with the professors, give him extra reason to explore Alola, and interact with Aether Foundation, and come in conflict with Team Skull. -> I can also see him trying his hand at the Island Challenge b/c of course, he's the protag. Hell, he can even make friends with the trial captains along the way.
-> Let Lillie be the deuteraganist proper! Let her be an actual trainer to Nebby! I hate some much that the games want us to have her pokemon just cause its the fucking box legendary, that's her pokemon and by all rights it would make more sense for her to catch it b/c that would be safer for Nebby in the long run. -> Not putting Hau on a damn bus for 97 episodes! He's the game *rival*, he's a major fucking character. Let this boy be present from jump and be both Lillie and Ash's rival. Explore his feelings about being stuck in Hala's shadow, the MC's shadow, and his sympathies with Team Skull.
-> ( A complaint I have with the games is I don't think Team Skull should be as rude or distant to Gladion as they are. Like, why would they make fun of him for being homeless if they're squatting in a rundown building? If Team Skull are supposed to be a group of homies and found family against the world, why wouldn't they adopt Gladion's prickly ass and tease him for being an edgelord? Also, just while Guzma acknowledges and respects Gladion for also escaping from and abusive household and wanting to get as strong as he can, I want more to be done with that than just paying lip service. Let them bond. ) -> Ah, yes, where was I? Gladion as a member of Team Skull. Not just hired help/an enforcer like in the games but an actual member. Let him bond with them damnit. And also keep him in a rival role to Ash while being a bad guy. Hell, its been a long time since I've watched the older pokemon seasons but it'd be fun to have a bad guy who keeps a long-running win streak over Ash. Let him keep his anime win streak and be a 'bad' guy.
-> Let Guzma have his role as the decoy big bad! Don't nerf him, don't slander him. Have folks mention him and have him show up at several points and have those eps be fucking heavy for one reason or another. He is a problem of a trainer and knows strategy and covers his team's weaknesses. -> While I hate everything the anime did slandering my guy making him the 'Undefeated' b/c he's a chicken that only targets weaklings, I wanna see Guzma being called the 'Undefeated' for serious, like folks thinking he's a chicken b/c of his ace and not taking every challenge sent his way but no he's actually good like that. I wanna see him beat Ash multiple times, yes Ash needs to beat him at some point to kickstart Guzma's character development but I wanna see him struggle to get that victory. -> You have no idea how much I want to see Guzma interrupt anyone who tries to use a Z move in a battle with him out of pure spite instead of just standing around doing fuck all while folks chant and do the poses. It would make so much more sense if he had his golisopod just sucker punch a pokemon in the middle of the z move stuff. It would be a good way to show that he's ruthless and very intent on bucking tradition. -> After I realized that like Guzma got possessed by a nihiligo in the of games and the manga and we were denied a perfectly good opportunity for a monster!Guzma rampage and opportunity to show how much Team Skull cares about each other that a 'I know yer in there come back to us Boss' and a 'help us save our Boss' could have added, I feel a bit miffed. Like I even commissioned fic to have just that and its good and everyone should read it and share with their friends. -> I do like that Team Skull didn't disband at the end of the anime. Them breaking up is one of the things I don't like about the games. Like, the can reform and stay together. (I also commissioned fic for Team Skull reforming while staying together and its good and everyone should read it and share with their friends)
-> Plumeria would have more things to do if Team Skull in general had more things to do and were taken a lil more seriously than they are in the anime. I do like the idea of her scouting and scoping and infiltrating in disguise. Also, I think she should make it farther in the pokemon league conference than she did b/c she's also a good trainer, and smart, and ruthless too. -> I think if she did make it further in the pokemon league conference and had to fight Guzma then that would be a great opportunity to show that the two characters are actually really good friends and know each other well. Certainly, I'd have Guzma win that fight, I'd also have that fight be the only one where he actually shows good sportsmanship towards his opponent. B/c he likes and respects Plumeria.
When it was on Netflix a few years ago I do remember watching some of the Pokemon Sun/Moon eps. And I remember how strange it felt that the ultra beast stuff had like a goofy Power Rangers type bend with folks suiting up as like a task force to deal with the things and just... idk maybe we should play the aggressive and fearful pokemon from another dimension more seriously. Darker at least. Cause like... ultra beasts kill people, they're a lot more dangerous than pokemon, they can do a good number on the environment more so than the invasives that are native to the dimension that the series takes place in.

I have a lot of thoughts right now about the latest episode (14)
Here's your warning to watch the episode before reading the post:
Okay okay okay
So I went back and watched the sequence of the whole Ace body discovery to try and see if there's anything there after the whole tape debacle this episode.
Here's a little recap of what happened for reference (episode 6 ~ timestamp: 18:36-21:55) :
-Teruko and Eden go to the workout room and see Nico over Ace, They run off
The tape is clearly by Aces feet here and remains there for some time
-The girls have a talk about the situation, Eden freaking out, and Teruko suspects Nico
-Teruko starts investigating, & Eden says she needs to process what just happened, Teruko tells her to sit down and not to touch stuff
-Teruko does her investigation she points out the tape here
-Eden comes over and offers to help after a little bit of this
-Teruko starts to investigate Aces body
-Ace gets up screaming and knocks Eden down
(it's about here the tape dissappeard)
-Eden gets up, surprisee Ace is alive
-after some more screaming Ace bolts out of the room and after Nico
-MonoTV promptly kicks everyone out
Okay, so I have some thoughts about all this. Character and story wise I have a hard time believing Eden did this but I don't think it's possible for Ace to have stolen the tape or mimicked the crime.
I can get behind him killing motive wise, but not with the method presented here.
The mans been scared to death since the start, got even more paranoid after the first case, literally everyone shits on him, he overheard Teruko saying he'd probably die, theres Veronikas whole disection of him in the cafeteria fight scene, and now he's nearly been murdered. So him getting paranoid and desperate isn't too far off. Also, him having nothing to do with Arei would be a good cover for him, so I don'treally count that as a defense of him.
That being said according to Nico, he woke up mid murder and fell unconscious again. How much of the method could Ace have possibly seen? Also, something that strikes me as odd is something in this image:

Ace's hands are covered in blood, so even if he theoretically grabbed the tape, wouldn't there also be blood on it? How would he hide it when using it for Arei's Murder?
Also the minute he woke up he was the center of attention, so I highly doubt he would even have time to properly hide the tape from both Teruko and Eden, or that he'd even be thinking of that the second he wakes up from nearly dying.
So because of all that, I don't think it's possible for him to be the killer here.
Opportunity wise, Eden has the most chance at staying undetected, seeing as she was on the floor around when the tape disappeared. She also had the opportunity when she was resting to observe the crime scene so she could more easily figure out and mimic the murder method.
That being said, Eden as a killer confuses me so freaking much, I feel there has to be some curveball here????? Like she'd have to have a pretty clear head directly after seeing a whole ass body so?????
I get Arei said she's likely not as innocent as she appears, but this feels like a bit much. Unless she's being blackmailed leading to some traitor reveal? It's really hard to say.
Anyway, that's my two cents here.
The two people I thought would least likely be the killer are the two main suspects, and now my brain is soup.

So the only time before now that I was really involved in the Helluva Boss fandom was right after the Ozzie's episode, and people were absolutely disecting EVERY frame of that episode, and then later, same with The Circus
So a lot of things that apparently didn't get confirmed before Oops were just canon in my head? 😂
I mean, the fire, Blitz being responsible for the fire, Tilla dying in the fire, Blitz' injuries, Fizz' injuries (inkl his skin being burn scars, not make up), Fizz' lack of horns, Ozzie (who we knew ran the robo fizz factory) building/taking care of Fizz' prosthetics, Ozzie manufacturing sex toys, the two of them living together....
I s2g I didn't remember that these things were not canon before s2ep6
#Fizz fans are wonderful extremely perceptive people who go HARD with the analysis#helluva boss fizzarolli#Fizzarolli#Helluva Boss#Helluva Boss Ozzie#fizzarozzie#asmodeus x fizzarolli#fizzmodeus#If we get incontinent fizz or intersex fizz somebody out there will get to yell bingo
