Hmmmm Odysseus is pretty beaten up in the trailer. So i think this is going to be in Thunder Bringer. The melody is really melancholic, he remembers his wife and son as he slowly sinks. Kind of dying ngl. And we know that in the next saga he washes up on Calypso's island.

My point is Thunder Bringer will most likely also be really sad.

Epic the musical AU where Ody doesn't kill the infant but he dies saving Polites from the cyclops and the rest of the musical plays out roughly the same but with Polites trying to get the infant and crew back to Ithaca

Polites going from open arms to 600 strike would be

Tasty drama imo.

Athena is like "fuck, my boy died because of Polites's open arms... I'll give Polites a shot anyway because Ody trusted him and Eury-- aaand he just yelled his own name at the cyclops in anger nvm."

Polites is the one who blinded the Cyclops because he had a WWOD (what would ody do) moment, so Poseidon is PISSED at him, naturally. Storm saga happens much the same but Eury and Poli are co parents of both the baby and the crew, poli is the one who take's on Ody's voice lines for the most part, but Eury is the captain. Poli gets the wind bag, Eury is still the one who opens it (I think he gets paranoid asfuck about it)

Circe saga is much the same, but I kind of like... Eury and Poli working together. Maybe Circe tries to seduce them both and Eury has the I MISS MY WIFE, CIRCE, moment.

In the underworld, Polites is the one who becomes the monster - Ody is one singing the open arms callbacks from here on out because he died trying to live by that. (Eury is dueting him for 'all I hear are screams' because he became the captain and they're all screaming for him.)

Thundersaga, also happens much the same. Eury decides Polites sacrificing six of their men is way too far just the same and we get Epic: the divorce saga for a hot minute. Instead of Zeus making Polites choose between himself or the crew, he has to choose between the boy and the crew because he's been protecting him for /years/ now. (iirc the journey from troy to this point is like 3 years? idk, what is time).

I can't decide if I want both Eury and Poli to end up on Calypso's island with the boy or just Poli and the boy-- I think just Poli is best.

I feel like theres a bit of a tasty bit of extra hurt here for Calypso because it's not just "oh shit oh fuck a person??? Mine now" she basically gets a husband and kid in her eyes.

This also means when Athena realises that Tele can't take over the throne until Polites brings word of Ody's death and goes to try and free Poli from the Island, Calypso is losing a husband and son (in her eyes).

I think, though, with a kid in the mix and the fact she was abandoned as a kid on the island, she's more willing to let them go. Polites might not even want to go home at this point because 'Actually Fuck Everything' but He Must Persist he must get back so that Tele can become king (I'm fudging the workings of the hierarchy of Ithica to suit my own needs okay)

also, Athena has been teaching Tele how to be strong and protect himself since he was a kid. She won't LOse THiS ONE but GOD DAMNIT HE'S SO LIKE HIS FATHER. I don't want to lose Disney prince Tele okay.
