Interdimensional Babysitter - DC x DP prompt
Danny used to be feared. He was respected. People coward before him.
Then he decided to help some heroes.
Now they casually call on him for help and advice.
Ir was a decent break from duties and being treated like a young bratty prince by the Observers when he wanted to make changes in the realms.
The biggest mistake was giving the Justice League a small portal to a pocket dimension Danny had made for relaxing and storing trinkets he finds on his adventures.
Currently, the Titans are using it as a clubhouse. Now the all the games have been moved, someone has been using his extremely rare (for humans to get) snacks are going missing and there was green fur on his weighted blankets.
Then there were the little ones. Robin and Superboy. They were the biggest pains Danny had faced yet.
Danny could be working in his observatory and reorganizing the path of stars when they barged in and asked for a new toy to play with.
Well, Danny called them toys but they were just tools he didn't need. The kids thought they were some epic powerful device.
Danny had given them a small pocket portal this time. It would let them add a new room to the pocket dimension and put whatever they want in it. It would give them whatever they wanted so Danny didn't need to be bothered.
Last time he gave them a portal cutter to let them cross dimensions. It should be fairly safe and child-proof since it was a failed creation that can only go to a limited number of universes. The danger there was limited to Saturday morning cartoons level. Not that they knew that.
Danny accepted that being allies with the Justice League meant lending a hand but babysitting was a step too far. He was an all-powerful cosmic being! Why can't he just help out on missions instead of being relegated to being the info guy or the helpful spirit that gives out the power boosts? He could handle doing more than being the planetary level protector that only does things when the entirety of the earth is in danger.
Then Superman and Batman had the nerve to scold him for not keeping an eye on the kids. How was he supposed to know they would send the Joker into a dimension populated by man-eating dinosaurs? Danny was sure it would be fine anyways. The kids had a good lesson on dinosaurs, kids love dinosaurs.
Danny could have done way worse. The portal cutter didn't even give them access to parallel dimensions. Superboy didn't need to see the evil version of his father killing his friends and Robin wouldn't see Nightwing enslave the human race.
There is no pleaseing these people.

Crow is the animal associated with krittika , pushya , hasta , jyestha , dhanistha
Crows are associated with being the vahan of shani dev , they are a connecting link between the human world and The spirit world , it is believed that our ancestors come in the form of crows to get food and offer us blessings , it is also believed that the caretaker of the crow will achieve blessings from all gods and reach salvation after death
Mythology and lore :
The black crow, also known as a raven in some regions is said to possess clairvoyance by which he can see different worlds,is the tale of KakBhushundi, mentioned in Tulasi’ Das’s epic poem ‘Ramacharitamanas’. Bhusundi who was an ardent devotee of Ram had no respect or devotion for any representation God other than Lord Ram. His guru sage Lomas tried to correct this attitude by teaching him to develop devotion for nirguna brahman or the formless aspect of God. But Bhusundi ignored his guru’s teachings and kept on worshipping Ram as the Ultimate Truth. In a fit of anger Sage Lomasha cursed Bhusundi to become a crow because of his repeated rejection and arguments against the sage’s guidance and advice. When Lord Ram intervened on behalf of Bhusundi, Sage Lomas relented and recalled Basundi who was now in the form of a crow as ‘KakBhushundi’ or Bhusundi the crow and taught him Ramcharitmanas, stories about Rama’s spiritual journey. Thus KakBhusundi in the form of a crow became the ultimate narrator of the events in the life of Lord Rama. He was also blessed with the ability to travel through time and recreate the story of Lord Rama.
He witnessed a cosmic vision in Rama's mouth, observing millions of suns and moons within, and a vision of the sage himself in Ayodhya within each celestial object. He resided within each of these realms for centuries, and returned from Rama's mouth to find himself return to the same moment in time as he had left. Bewildered, he begged for Rama's salvation, and was promptly blessed with the same. He chose to forever remain in the form of a crow as he had been blessed by his favoured deity in that form.
during the shraddha ceremony or oblation offered to ancestors, a ball of cooked rice ( pind) is offered to the dead ancestor. If crows eat ( touch/peck) it, then it is assumed that the dead ancestor’s soul has been released from his or her bindings with the physical body and has embarked on the continuation of the soul’s journey to the next level of existence. In this rite, crows touching the rice ball is considered auspicious and is also seen as a good omen.they are of particular interest in Tantric narratives and Tantric rituals. In the general Hindu context, the crow is often stereotyped as inauspicious and its role limited to that of vāhana (vehicle of a deity). Conversely, in Tantric ritual manuals, the crow’s sphere of influence is based on a broader concept. Such scriptures imply ominous and ‘dark’ aspects of agency in crows, but they do so in a strikingly different way than Hindu classic mythology. Tantra emphasise an ambivalent potential in crows as beneficial to certain rituals and occasionally incorporate a ‘crow potency in ritual instructions.
They are the very powerful healers who are able to locate the shadows that create distress for people and bring blind dark spots to awareness in people so healing can ensue. Spending long periods in the dark gives one this Siddhi.Shuni Kah is the Crow of the Dark Moon who has access to the never regions. He is the one in us to bring the eye to the underground sediment that toxifies our lives. If this unresolved sediment it is left in the unseen world there is no healing.Shuni Kah the Crow and gatekeeper to the world of dreams is the grand healer. Just singing his name is a powerful mantra that causes us to see in the dark.
The entrance to Shuni is through the femminine. His Mother is Chaya, the Shadow Woman, and his father is Surya, the Sun. His Mother was not able to realise her power beside her Husband, the sun, for his glow burned and make her feel overwhelmed and insignificant and so she fled leaving behind her shadow. This signifies how the Feminine is brought into insignificance when the Solar or active force is ruled over her.Having left her Shadow with her husband, Shuni’s mother whilst still pregnant performed prayers and yogic austerity to Shiva under intense heat. Her effort was so great and the heat generated became so hot that her child, Shuni, was burned black. This signifies how heat and tapasya (yogic purifying Fire of austerity) reveals the darkness within the unconscious recesses of one’s being. When Shuni was born and seen in his blackness, his father was shocked at how dark he was refused to recognise him as his child, accusing his wife of being unfaithful. He raged greatly and insulted his wife. Seeing his Mother thus insulted raised Shuni’s wrath. Thus Shuni’s gazes is ever down in the underworld and arouses suffering. He Rides on the Crow and his wife rides on the Swan. One is the bird of the underworld and the other is the bird of the Celestial spheres
The completion of Tantrais known as the Kiss of Crow & Swan. The meeting of opposites. She rides a chariot pulled by crows and has a flag with crow emblem (Kak Dwhajini). She has a voice of howling jackals. Dhumavati
In Celtic mythology, the warrior goddess known as the Morrighan often appears in the form of a crow or raven or is seen accompanied by a group of them. Typically, these birds appear in groups of three, and they are seen as a sign that the Morrighan is watching—or possibly getting ready to pay someone a visit.
In some tales of the Welsh myth cycle, the Mabinogion, the raven is a harbinger of death. Witches and sorcerers were believed to have the ability to transform themselves into ravens and fly away, thus enabling them to evade capture.Odin is often represented by the raven—usually a pair of them. Early artwork depicts him as being accompanied by two black birds, who are described in the Eddas as Huginn and Munnin. Their names translate to “thought” and “memory,” and their job is to serve as Odin’s spies, bringing him news each night from the land of men. For the ancient Greeks, the crow was a symbol of Apollo in his role as god of prophecy. Augury—divination using birds—was popular among both the Greeks and the Romans, and augurs interpreted messages based on not only the color of a bird but the direction from which it flew. A crow flying in from the east or south was considered favorable.Genesis tells us that after the flood waters receded, the raven was the first bird Noah sent out from the ark to find land. Also, in the Hebrew Talmud, ravens are credited with teaching mankind how to deal with death; when Cain slew Abel, a raven showed Adam and Eve how to bury the body, because they had never done so before.Philo of Alexandria (first century AD), who interpreted the Bible allegorically, stated that Noah's raven was a symbol of vice, whereas the dove was a symbol of virtue (Questions and Answers on Genesis 2:38)In the Story of Bhusunda, a chapter of the Yoga Vasistha, a very old sage in the form of a crow, Bhusunda, recalls a succession of epochs in the earth's history, as described in Hindu cosmology. He survived several destructions, living on a wish-fulfilling tree on Mount Meru.[24]
The Lesser Key of Solomon: Goetia, The Book of Evil SpiritsStolas, the 36th demon in the pantheon, will first appear as a raven when summoned. Once he becomes a man, he teaches the arts and astronomy, as well as the properties of precious stones and the healing properties of herbs. Malphas, the 39th demon, appears as a crow and won’t change form until ordered. In his human form, he can build homes and fortifications and can give his summoner a familiar
Raven overheard the old man talking to himself about a box he possessed. The box contained a series of ever-smaller boxes, and inside the smallest box was all the light in the world—which Raven decided to steal. There seemed to be no door into the house, so Raven waited until the man’s daughter went to a nearby stream, then changed himself into a hemlock needle in the water, which the girl drank. Raven changed himself into a baby once he was inside her, and once he was born (an odd-looking half-bird, half-boy creature whose true nature was hidden by the darkness), he demanded to be allowed to play with the boxes. One by one, Raven demanded the first box, then the second, and so on. Finally, he convinced his grandfather to open the innermost box and let him play with the ball that was the light. As soon as Raven had the light, he took off with it gripped in his beak. The light spilled from the ball and over the world, but it wasn’t long before Eagle gave chase. As Raven fled, pieces of the light fell to the ground and shattered, bouncing back into the sky to create the Moon and the stars. Other pieces of the light slowly fell as Raven made his way around the world, which is why the light travels across the sky the way it does.Theories suggest that the three legs represent the three ancient clans of Japan or the three virtues of valor, benevolence, and wisdom. Some suggest that the three stands for mankind, heaven, and Earth. Regardless of why Yatagarasu has three legs, he’s seen as symbolic of the navigator, physical and spiritual, and he’s even been adopted by the Japanese soccer association in the hopes that he’ll help navigate the ball into the goal. He’s also closely associated with Kumano, the birthplace of the founder of the sport in Japan
The raven is considered one of the smartest birds. In fact, the raven’s brain is among the largest of any bird species. Ravens also happen to possess an extraordinary number of brain cells compared to the brains of other birds.3When the raven is your spirit animal, you are being called upon to rely on your wits in a given situation or when you are faced with a challenge in your life. Often in life, we can go on automatic pilot, accepting things the way they are, or thinking we don’t have the capacity to change them. The raven spirit animal tells you that with innovation and creative thinking, you can influence outcomes that affect the course of your life. Even if you feel emotional about a situation, remember to rely on the gift of your intellect to solve your problems. This is how you gain deeper intelligence and wisdom.\
Charles Dickens’ Barnaby Rudge: A Tale of the Riots of Eighty. In both tales, the raven is at first disturbing to the character who interacts with him. But then he provides important insights. Indeed, the raven expands both of the main characters’ level of consciousness.
In many Native American legends, the raven is the wisest of birds, even possessing the ability to speak.8 (In fact, this is an interesting parallel between Native American legends and stories from other cultures, such as Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven, in which the intelligent black bird is capable of human speech. The Egyptian goddess Nepthys, who is the sister of Isis, was the goddess of the dead.13 It’s clear that the ancient Egyptians also connected the raven with death, as they associated Nepthys with this intelligence black bird.
Meaning: Survival and Adaptability
Intuition – Because the raven is so closely associated with clairvoyance and prophecy, on a spiritual level, they remind us of our own ability to connect with our Higher Power and higher spiritual entities through our own minds.
Spiritual Guidance – As they are associated with insight and guidance, the raven is also a symbol for spiritual education. We are all works in progress. Learning about spirituality from more enlightened souls can lead to our own spiritual growth.
Spiritual Transformation – As a powerful symbol of transformation, the raven also embodies the idea of shifting consciousness and opening our minds to greater awareness as we navigate our spiritual journey. reflect on the areas of your life that they might relate to. Even an anxious raven dream can be a gift. It can prompt you to take the time to be an objective observer of your own thoughts. Then, you can improve situations without getting pulled in every direction your thoughts might take.

Through various nakshatras
Interpretations are solely based on my understanding and you can have your interpretation as well ❤️
Krittika nakshatra
Krittika is a churner of perfection under the fire of Surya that gave birth to Shani through his mother chaya the first conception of the birth of a crow comes through while Shani is associated with crows , the struggles of not being seen enough is associated here , the outcast themes come through. Along with that the perfection theme while a crow collects the most beautiful stuff to keep in it's nest , it knows what's valuable like krittika sees the value in things , they know what they want and they attempt to take it . Here this relates to the story of yatagarasu believed to be an incarnation of the sun in Shinto mythology. This also associates with Apollo being the god of prophecy and taking the form of a crow , shows that where there exists light ( Surya ) there Exists chaya , they aren't on a scale of horizontal extremes but the flip sides of a coin, one cannot exist without the other , in krittika lies the light so lies the dark , lies the beauty of creation so lies the pain of change .
Pushya nakshatra
Pushya nakshatra ruled by Saturn comes in through the first liberation through pain and trials in the lives of the natives , like a crow one suffers despite what others say , people say various things without knowing about the wisdom of the crow , this forms the initiation of intuition . While pushya relates to the nourishing aspect of a crow , how they hunt for their young ones , how they know pain because they have been the one experiencing it , being outcast only affects them for a small time because they pick themselves up like a true winner. . Here the intelligence and creativity given by the raven shines through with the light of the moon .
Hasta nakshatra:
The playful nature of mercury- moon shines through the crow in being a lover for finer things in life , they are the intelligent ones the smart ones , they are often called deceptive , but that's just cleverness put to use , while the significance here can be seen through the story of raven (mentioned above) stealing the box which contained all the light of the world and convincing the old man to open the box , natives have great communication skills and can easily convince people. As the eagle chased the raven the moon and the stars were created , signified by the moon hasta creates their own pathway through their own efforts. By hook or by crook they get what they desire .
Jyestha nakshatra:
In Jyestha nakshatra comes in the prophetic and astrological nature of the natives . Jyestha nakshatra is associated with the 8th house , hence death and through the mahavidya Dhumavati who is also associated with crows , this nakshatra gives grounding, astrological talent to the one with this nakshatra. When the ceremonial rites of a dead person is performed offering food to a crow suggests the offerings being accepted by the dead , which is suggested here with Jyestha being in Scorpio. In tantra crows are seen as potent symbolism of intuition and transformation in various mythologies, crow is seen as transformation as is seen in Jyestha nakshatra. In the lesser key of solomon a crow reaches the art of divinitions and healing properties of crystals . A Jyestha native transforms throughout their lives and gains knowledge to become a spiritual centre of creativity and intuition. They bring in spirituality and astrology as 8th being the origin of astrology, they are potent in magical arts and healing others as well as themselves.
Dhanistha nakshatra :
When in dhanistha can be explained through the story of kakbhushundi , the disciple who turned into a crow in devotion to Rama , the solar avatar of Vishnu, kakbhushundi explores the spritual aspect of the crow , kakbhushundi who recited stories through ramacharitamanas . Dhanistha associated with Hanuman also shows the infinite devotion the crow bird and the natives of dhanistha have towards their adored and admired one , being a symbol of loyalty they are blessed with spiritual powers like kakbhushundi could travel through time and various realms , Dhanistha are blessed with the power to see various perspectives . Dhanistha natives are associated with the celestial form of a crow , the loyalty , the devotion and the spiritual salvation.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope this thread provided you valuable insights, please know that this is based on my understanding and interpretation I'm open to suggestions and corrections
Have a great day / night ahead 🤍

As a writer, I feel like Miraculous is the perfect case study for both generating worlds and characters people feel attached to, to the point where they generate theories and get invested in tiny developments, and also a case study for how a story should absolutely not be developed from that point on.
Every time I see something from the show, I’m reminded of the brilliance of its concepts and setups. You have superheroes tied to zodiac animals (plus others) which give different powers not tied to the animal form in ways people had seen before (seriously, props where props are due, there were some unique power/costume combos here). You have secret identities which hide both two kids who are in love with one another in different forms AND the fact that one kid is the SON OF THE VILLAIN (angst on angst for that finale and any reveals). You have cute little creatures of seemingly infinite cosmic energy who have been around since the dawn of time but also have banter of their own. You have cool jewelery designs (yes, this is vital to making people want to draw your world and make their own ocs, which is one of MY big writing motivators lol). You have a cool cast of background characters who, for the first two seasons, are each given an episode to have a breakdown and become villains. You have a bully who seems like childsplay in the face of an actual supervillain terrorizing Paris. You have a clear front runner for Villain #2 in a character who depends on deceit to rule the class. You have all the foundations for an epic tale of growth, love, betrayal, etc. etc.
And you squander it. You take the MC whose father is the villain out of the final fight to pad out the awaited reveal. You backslide any and all character development. You don’t let the romance go ANYWHERE for four seasons, then speed through the reversal of attraction people had been dying for. You send the most interesting characters out of the story (mainly Luka, but I’m also going to include Chloe here). You let all the background characters become heroes and forget that the main draw of the show is watching our two leads, or, sorry, ONE lead by the way things end (because forget about the fun of their dynamic no matter the masks which drew so many people to this show to begin with).
The worst part for me is that I can pin pretty much all its problems on one thing: the rule of cool. It would make thematic sense for Adrien to be in the final fight and face off his father, but it was COOL for Marinette to combine the miraculous and fight him solo. It was interesting to see a small band of heroes help our leads (their two best friends and Chloe, who was shaping up to be an interesting hero in her own way), but it would be COOL if all the kids had powers 24-7 now and no, most of the designs don’t look as good as those initial ones. It would be interesting to see Marinette and Adrien finally discuss their feelings to one another, and eventually have a reveal that leads to maybe betrayal and excitement all at once, but it would be COOL if they just started dating already so they date as civilians. It would be interesting to explore the world, the themes, and relationships we felt promised by those early episodes, but it would be COOL to just take the story wherever the wind blows and add in any cool fights or lines that prop up our now stand-alone MC, even at the expense of her literal partner or any of the other secondary characters we were given a focus on (because why prop up the characters everyone already loved when we can give Kim, a solid tertiary character, a backstory tied directly to Marinette’s worst trait in a COOL attempt at explaining it away because it WOULDNT BE COOL if she had flaws).
I’m not saying I hate everything from the newer seasons. However, it seems like the writers’ plan for the story didn’t include things they set up, and what they set up was infinitely more interesting than the things they planned to pay off. My takeaway advice for writers is this: put down the “Rule of Cool” for a moment and analyze what you think are the inherently INTERESTING parts of your story. Maybe you have a unique world, or your character ideas have merit, or you too have some contrive love square people can spend hours agonizing over. Then, don’t shove it to the side (or drag it out past the point of caring). Think through what you want to do with those concepts and the ways you want to explore them, and make a clear path. Don’t worry about what the public reception to those ideas will be (I know, seems counter-intuitive to the post, but stay with me) and instead dig into the themes you want to tell. Miraculous wanted to tell a cool story, and in the end they told a bland one. The best stories come from writers who put aside their goals of being cool and just write the worlds they personally find interesting.
#miraculous#miraculous ladybug#miraculous tales of ladybug and chat noir#a bit of a rant here#I just can’t get over how they squandered so much#I have hope for the next season though since Lilla seems like a genuine threat

The Northridge Angels Pitch Bible
Hello, all 3 people reading this. I’m Maxx, and this is my pitch for a special NSU legacy show. I’ve been thinking on this for a while and I finally got it! Have you ever heard of Kaizoku sentai gokaiger? Or Kamen Rider Decade? My pitch is gonna be like that. Here is my pitch for “The Northridge Angels”
Setting
Welcome to Northridge High School, the legendary institution of learning we've always heard about but never seen. Nestled in the Nickelodeon Sitcom Universe, it's the perfect stage for an extraordinary legacy show.
Premise
Meet KASEY CARSON, a seemingly ordinary high school girl. Since a mysterious incident years ago, she's been merely surviving rather than truly living. But when she crosses paths with four extraordinary humanoid ALIENS – REIKA, FURA, TERRYO, and ZAIRO – her world turns on its head. From navigating comedic high school antics to encountering iconic characters and locations from the Nickelodeon Sitcom Universe, this group of friends will experience a roller coaster ride of epic proportions.
CHARACTERS
Kasey Carson (She/Her)
Northridge's antihero, Kasey Carson carries the mantle of the Nickelodeon Sitcom Universe’s first VILLAIN PROTAGONIST. Despite a hardened exterior resulting from past trauma, Kasey learns to open up with the help of her alien friends. Though her methods may occasionally court chaos, they serve her ultimate ambition. Imagine the cunning of Alex Russo paired with the unyielding determination of Billy Butcher.
Reika (They/Them)
Reika, a mermaid from Planet Syrenia, is a quirky chaos-enthusiast who leads the school's swim team. Reika's treasure-hunting skills and passion for theater add an extra layer of adventure to Kasey's life.
Fura (She/Her)
Fura, a fire fairy from Planet Lafahx, is the group's voice of reason. As captain of the debate team, she possesses a fiery spirit and an uncanny ability to drive the story forward through her persuasive arguments and unyielding commitment.
Terryo (He/Him)
Terryo is a laid-back earth elf from Planet Minera, with a modern hippie vibe. Despite his seemingly relaxed persona, he harbors a genius-level intellect, particularly in chemical science, making him an invaluable ally to Kasey and the gang.
Zairo (He/Him)
Zairo, a Nepele from Planet Aerophant, is the artistic soul of the group. As a sculptor and painter, his adventures often revolve around defending his art or seeking inspiration, constantly shaping the direction of the group's journey.
OTHERS
Principal Agogo(She/Her)
A true menace to society, Principal Agogo is a quintessential CHAOTIC NEUTRAL. She has a rather twisted view on reality. Basically, she’ll either help or hinder the group depending on how much chaos it would cause, because in her view, chaos is beautiful! At least to her it is.
Gibby (He/Him)
Gibby is the manager of the BIXBY, a rec center the group hangs out at outside. He often imparts sage advice from his own experience.
Storyline
Pilot: 1- “Northridge Bound”
The California night sky is lit by the blazing trail of four shooting stars. Their crashing arrival sets off a chain of rumors, with whispers of extraterrestrial activity. Six months later, a transfer student, Kasey, sets foot in Northridge High, oblivious to the cosmic spectacle that preceded her arrival.
Kasey’s first encounter at Northridge is a dramatic one. She steps in to aid Fura, who is being cornered by the notorious Northridge Girls. Despite Fura’s spirited resistance and insistence on using her debating skills to defuse the situation, Kasey's timely intervention turns the tide. The two form an unlikely friendship amidst the chaos.
In art class, Kasey and Fura are grouped with Zairo, an artist who finds his inspiration in the zaniest antics and seemingly nonsensical ramblings about 'listening to the wind.' Their adventures continue in an agriculture class, where they meet Terryo, a laid-back genius showing off his latest creation: a mutant plant.
Despite Fura's dire warning, referencing a parody of "Little Shop of Horrors," Terryo assures them this isn't a movie. Until the plant abruptly bites him. Kasey steps in, annihilating the plant to save Terryo. After the plant's explosive demise showers them with plant debris, Kasey suggests that Terryo could potentially match Quinn Pensky's genius, if he only planned more thoughtfully.
Cleaned up and back on their feet, they cross paths with Reika, the enigmatic swim team captain who invites them to the evening's swim meet. As Reika glides effortlessly through the water, Kasey spots something unusual about their technique. It's too fluid, too precise - almost inhuman. Reika's victory is resounding, yet something about it nags at Kasey.
A couple of hours later, Kasey finds herself back in the school, having forgotten her phone charger. As she retrieves it, she stumbles upon an unbelievable sight. Terryo, Zairo, and Fura, all reveal their true forms. And sitting in the pool is Reika, no longer sporting legs but a shimmering fishtail. Kasey is stunned, exclaiming in disbelief, "Reika's a mermaid?! Mermaids are real?!"
Caught red-handed, the group decides there's no point in hiding. They reveal their true identities fully. Kasey, while shocked, accepts the reality in front of her, promising to keep their secret. She senses that her new, extraordinary friends could provide unexpected benefits. Thus, an extraordinary friendship blossoms amidst the everyday chaos of high school life.
Episode 2: "Good Burger, Bad Intention" (Kenan and Kel Tribute Episode)
Kasey, realizing she needs a job, inspires her friends to consider the same. During their conversation, Principal Agogo (played by Lorraine Toussaint) casually mentions the grand opening of a new Good Burger in the local mall, featuring an appearance from Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchel who will be served a special meal. This news sparks a wicked plan in Kasey's mind.
She pitches an audacious scheme to her friends: they'll poison Kenan and Kel's special burgers. Kasey tasks Terryo with concocting a non-lethal but effective poison and a trace-removing spray. Reika, capable of shifting appearances, is to impersonate Kasey, providing a solid alibi. Zairo is assigned distraction duties. To Fura's curious question about the purpose of such an extreme plan, Kasey vaguely promises an explanation when the time is right. The only remaining piece of the puzzle: a trumpet.
The night falls, and the Northridge Angels stealthily infiltrate the mall and Good Burger. Kasey proceeds with her plan, contaminating the special burgers. The following day, as Kenan devours his burger, he is immediately struck by an intense stomachache and rushes off to the bathroom. There, Kasey, in disguise, blasts a trumpet in his face, switches off the lights, and delivers a violent surprise attack, triumphantly declaring, "Check snaps fingers mate!"
After the day's events, Principal Agogo leaves behind five job applications. Terryo secures a position as a security guard at BOTZ; Zairo finds work as a mall painter; Reika cleverly uses their abilities to land a gig as a professional mermaid; Fura gets hired at the mall's Pear Store as a Sales Associate, a position she finds ironic given her exclusive use of Cyborg technology. Kasey, on the other hand, scores a job at BIXBY.
Upon accepting the position, Kasey confidently assures her new employer, "Sir, you've just made the best decision of your life by hiring me." The manager responds with a bemused, "Gibby!"
Episode 3: "Party On The Brink" (UNFABULOUS Tribute Episode)
Kasey starts to find her stride at Bixby, earning praise from Gibby for her diligence. An unexpected challenge arises when Gibby entrusts her with the task of managing a children's birthday party during his absence. The birthday child in question is none other than the progeny of Addie Singer!
Tasked with ensuring the smooth execution of the party, Kasey hustles through the chaos single-handedly. Despite her determined efforts, she struggles to maintain control, leading to an escalation of her stress levels. Concerned, Reika, Terryo, Fura, and Zairo watch from the sidelines, wondering if they should intervene.
Addie, ever perceptive, eventually takes notice of Kasey's struggle. She gently pulls Kasey aside and offers a piece of motherly advice: "It's clear you're pushing yourself to the brink, and it's causing worry among your friends and colleagues. No task is too insignificant to ask for help. It's okay to reach out."
Moved by Addie's words, Kasey decides to share her burdens. With the assistance of her friends, she manages to transform the chaos into a memorable and joyous celebration. By the end of the day, Addie's child is beaming with happiness, having experienced the best birthday party ever.
Episode 4: "BOTZ After Dark"
A nod to the infamous game 'Five Nights at Freddy's', Terryo embarks on his new role as a night security guard at BOTZ. All is quiet until the once-friendly robots contract a malevolent virus, transforming them into unpredictable and aggressive automatons.
Night after night, the situation escalates, and the bots' hostility grows. Realizing the severity of the situation, Kasey and the rest of the Northridge Angels step in. With Kasey's black belt in karate and her friends' unique abilities, they battle the rogue robots, buying Terryo precious time to concoct an antivirus.
In the aftermath of the chaotic battle, Terryo successfully repairs the bots and injects the antivirus, restoring them back to their friendly selves. Despite the victory, Kasey is left wondering about the mysterious origins of the virus that nearly led to their undoing.
Episode 5: "Treehouse Remix"
In a hilarious homage to the award-winning 'Drake and Josh' episode, "Treehouse", Reika and Fura rush to the hospital, where they find Kasey, Zairo, and Terryo injured. The trio had been commissioned to build and decorate a treehouse but ended up trapping themselves inside. As Reika and Zairo navigate the creative process under Spencer's guidance, Reika wrestles with maintaining their secret identity, considering their true mermaid nature. The design process is filled with comical mishaps and unexpected solutions, perfectly befitting the quirky style of Spencer.
Intrigued by Spencer's connection to Carly Shay, Kasey decides to tag along. She shadows the team, observing and gathering intel, all while trying to avoid drawing attention to herself. This episode is a humorous and intriguing nod to the iconic show, 'iCarly'.
Episode 7: "#KarmaOnWheels" (Sam and Cat Tribute)
In a serendipitous encounter, Kasey bumps into a familiar face from the iCarly universe, one of the kids from the infamous "iSellPennyTees" episode. The kid, now older, discloses that the notorious duo, Sam Puckett and Cat Valentine, have been entrusted with babysitting his younger sister.
He shares a disturbing tale of the past, painting a picture of a manipulative Sam exploiting him and several other children to labor under harsh conditions for a minimal wage. While Sam's temperament has mellowed over the years, transitioning her into a reliable babysitter (a reference to the premise of Sam and Cat), her prickly demeanor remains, and her past misdeeds have never truly caught up with her.
This revelation reignites Kasey's simmering disdain for Sam, inspiring her to intervene. She rallies Terryo, Reika, Fura, and Zairo for a calculated operation aimed at distracting Cat, allowing Kasey to infiltrate Sam's personal space.
The opportunity arises with the imminent "Killer Tuna Jump" event, where Sam plans to stun the audience with a daring bike jump. Unbeknownst to her, Kasey has meticulously tampered with the bike's mechanics. As Sam executes her jump, the bike disassembles mid-air, leading to a horrific accident that sends Sam straight to the emergency room.
Kasey, assuming the role of a doctor, subtly indicates to Sam that her accident was not a mere stroke of bad luck - she's on a hit list. To top it all off, Kasey finally confronts Sam about her past actions, promising a taste of her own medicine. The episode concludes on an enticing note, leaving the audience anticipating the next move in this cat-and-mouse game.

Their challenger is a snide, experienced racer, known locally for his ruthless tactics and relentless hunger for victory. Known to favor speed over safety, his reckless abandon makes him a formidable and unpredictable adversary.
In preparation for the big race, Kasey and Terryo embark on a crash course of upgrading their dune buggy, enlisting the assistance of their friends. Zairo applies his creative touch, painting an eye-catching design on the buggy, while Fura uses her debating skills to negotiate for parts from local vendors. Although initially excited, the group quickly realizes that spending a night in a mall is no walk in the park. The mall, so lively during the day, takes on an eerie quiet after hours, and shadows seem to dance in every corner. This strange ordeal leaves the group with an unforgettable experience, a massive grade boost, and a renewed understanding of the unpredictability of their principal. From attempting to replace plastic utensils in the cafeteria with reusable ones, only for the students to lose or break them, to planting trees that end up attracting a swarm of bees, Terryo's efforts continually backfire. Even his attempts to create an organic compost heap for the school's garden end up causing an unpleasant stench that pervades the entire school, earning him the ire of students and faculty alike.
In the midst of his eco-friendly endeavors, Terryo crosses paths with the school's jaded janitor. The janitor, having grown weary of dealing with the messes left by students and faculty, threatens to call his union representative if he's forced to clean up after another one of Terryo's environmental fiascos. Terryo, not wanting to add more work to the janitor's plate, tries to reason with him.
Coincidentally, they both find themselves dealing with a group of misbehaving Northridge girls. i just finished kid cosmic season 1 and..
[spoilers obviously]
man..ONLY 10 episodes? I mean I guess it’s getting a continuation so that’s good. anyways heres my thoughts of the overall season and show
so from the animation alone? fucking beautiful.
people said before that it reminded them of gorillaz and I didn’t see it, but NOW I do. it’s so fluid, and it can be chunky at times, but like, spider-verse type you know? anyways it’s just perfect, it’s fluid, it REALLY fits the hero-comic style of the show. and the BACKGROUND ART. GOD. I WOULD JUST PAUSE AT TIMES AND JUST OBSERVE. OF HOW TRULY BEAUTIFUL IT WAS FOR ME. ITS SO COOL.
ok now for the characters themselves? first off, the kid, he’s just perfect, he’s so pure. everything from his tragic backstory to the connection of his scar? yeah. deep. but THATS what makes him so flawed, and ngl i feel like I relate to him there. the show is OBVIOUSLY revolved around him, cause. kid cosmic. but obviously for not TOO long, cause the OTHER characters, that are ALSO great.
like JO! ok, as a teen, i feel like they kind of captured the characteristics of what a teen would “act” in situations on these, so when jo would just stammer and go insane, i RELATED to that sm! anyways she’s a good character! definitely the mom friend of the group, I see her as kid’s older sister, and she’s badass >:)
MOVING on to rosa! I ALSO related to her too, bonus start off because she was hispanic! as a mexican person, I was REALLY HAPPY to see someone cartoon, on screen, that RESEMBLED me you know? anyways besides that, she’s adorable, she can be a perfect kind of that “toddler-annoying”, and ironically SHES the muscle of the group, but yeah, she’s adorable, she’s such a cool chaotic baby! <3
NOW WITH PAPA G. MAN. he’s like, my PERSONAL favorite character in the show, though I WISHED he had more screen-time but the time I HAD with him, I just, loved him, so much. first off I thought it was already amazing how STRIKINGLY similar he is to WANDER. like. they’re the same person i stg, i wouldn’t be surprised if his design was at first a humanized version of wander DRAWN by craig, if you don’t believe me? watch woy, or just SIMPLY OBSERVE the hat. he EVEN says quotes that wander would say and EVEN said when he was in space that “he thought it was a flashback” THATS EPIC. anyways from his character, he’s ALSO the heart of the group, he is so caring and sweet, and especially to kid, and the fact that he is old, idk why that makes his character even MORE great, because he is ALSO so chaotic and ecstatic for a old ass guy . he also gives kid GOOD advice since, he lives with him, like the “freaking out, breathe it out” quote? swag af. anyways as you can tell, he’s my favorite character lol. i love papa g sm. OH YEAH, HIS NAME REVEALED TO BE GEORGE TOO SO . BUT YEAH, LOVE THIS OLD DOG.
SO ALSO WITH TUNA SANDWICH. not much to say here, id say he got the LEAST screentime , makes sense, cause he’s just the cat, but like at episode 8, he starts TALKING, and it’s just 😳 I was SUPRISED, this kinda overhauled his character, anyways besides that and his kinda useless power imo? he’s an adorable old cat, i almost cried when I saw him as a kitten and ALSO saw BABY KID. like that’s so cute how he’s attached to the kid, and THATS how he uses his power in advance, huh, guess it’s not that useless after all? anyways cute cat, funny too, he fucking cursed too so..
now to the side characters? i wasn’t expecting chuck to TURN good? like ok? 😳 i thought he would just be that stereotypical villain throughout the series in which i can love sometimes, but that wasn’t the case? first off his voice change? I feel like that was good! his stitch voice is cute btw lol. and him having MORE screentime too? following along with tuna? ALSO good! also tom kenny did a good job with his performance of him! now the other side characters like jo’s mom, thought she was ok, I wish the others like rosas parents were in it more you know? also the ACTUAL villain? the biker guy, kind of weak, but he was ok too.
now to the plot, I was EXPECTING for this show to be STORY-DRIVEN, and not like a reset cartoon episode like craig’s LAST cartoon was, and wasn’t let down a bit! the pacing goes by fast, but it says EVERYTHING it needed to be said, and it’s TO THE POINT. like the little details too? such as the foreshadowing when jo saw a glimpse of the newspaper about the car accident in the first episode? oof. then it being EXTENDED where to the point the kid gets flashbacks and cries? that hurt, but that was IMPORTANT to the story kinda, it’s also WHY papa g did that fake robot thing, kind of dick move george, but HEY! he did it for his grandson! besides, it never hurts to he- ok I’ll stop LMAOO, anyways i thought the story was good, so was the pacing
i got SO ARTISTICALLY inspired by the art style and the background art, like GOD, where’s the background artist @ ? I GOTTA KNOW, i STILL LOVE IT SM. FROM THE SIMPLISTIC AND SORTA GRAINY LINEART OF THE DESIGNS TO THAT COMIC FEEL? IT FELT NOSTALGIC SOMEHOW NGL. AND I THINK THEY CAPTURED THE FEEL OF THE SETTING TOO.NEW MEXICO MAN. NOT OFTEN YOU GET CARTOONS THAT TAKE PLACE THERE
MAKES ME HAPPY TBH! anyways
the art style was cute imo, great shit here my dude,I already can’t wait for the continuation, it actually ended in a cliffhanger so that’s kinda poopy. but yeah! craig and his crew went ALL out on this show you can tell! his wife and son even worked on this, EVEN ANDY BEAN! a person that WORKED with craig in woy! It’s great! i almost recognized ALL of the voice actors too, except jack fisher, I had NO idea who he was, but to KNOW an ACTUAL kid CAN give good performances? really says something, HES A PERFECTLY good example for a kid voice actor, he was great! as for the others, and the STARS TOO? such as KEITH FERGUSON, AND FRED TASTIACORE, AMANDA C MILLER, GREY GRIFFIN, KEVIN MICHAEL RICHARDSON, PHIL LAMAAR AND EVEN RICH FULCHER!! they were no joke, and obviously GREAT! im surprised keith can do such a good old man voice, wait never mind, he’s done the “orlando-bloo” voice before and that’s kind of a old voice? idk. but here we are.
overall. this show? i rate it 10/10
cant wait to see more of it!
it’s already such a comfort show for me!
i love it sm!
tysm craig for giving me ANOTHER of your cartoons to simply OBSESS over for, you’re the best man! you’re my idol!
k well I guess that’s all. sorry if it was a lot. i just. wanted to say something long about this show.
k well BYE BYE 🧡💜‼️

killer x outer
(i have never written for outer before, so this will be shitty)
killer slowly walked through outertale to the best of his ability in the zero-g that came with the nullified vacuum space "god how do people live in an area like this?" killer pondered as he made his way to the chunk of land that he always hung around at when he was having a hard time with whatever his life chucked at him in a baseball style fashion (sadly i cant find a picture of the bad sanses playing baseball to put here). he slowly sat down against the lone tree with cosmic, galactic leaves with a twisted trunk and branches... he was relaxed, chilled out and reaching inner zenith on such a legendary level he didnt even notice that someone was walking up to him.
"i see you found my spot," someone said grabbing killers attention "i thought i was the only one who knew about it, my name is sans... but in the multiverse they call me outer." "well nice to talk to you outer, hope you dont mind me sitting here." killer said without opening his eyes "you okay if i sit with you?" "just dont talk to me unless i talk to you first." "ok!" outer said happily as he sat next to killer his parka brushing up against killers sleeve slightly "stop touching me?" killer said getting agitated by the contact "but im not touching you." "your arm is brushing against my sleeve! and you, uh... um..." killer lost his words halfway through his sentence upon opening his eyes and seeing outer for the first time.
killer thought he looked adorable and hot at the same time the way his parka framed his sweet personality, his simple white eye lights perfectly matching his soft smile, and his adorable fluffy slippers with the common choice of shorts... killer thought he was perfect in every way that he could see him as without tearing off his clothes, so perfect killer didnt realize he had spent a minute staring at him with his face a vibrant crimson hue "uh are you ok dude?" outer asked as he waved a hand in front of killer who snapped out of his trance and stumbled over words looking for a good excuse but instead getting a small giggle from outer which once again grabbed killers attention making him smile a little bit.
"i think its almost time for me to go, see you next time then." killer said as he got up but felt a small tug on his sleeve "what is it?" "please come back here again tomorrow, i need you..." outer said as he pulled killer into a hug "uh, sure thing buddy," killer said as he pulled away a bit "same time same place see you then!" "see you then!" outer called out to killer as he hopped in a portal leaving dream to slump back up against the tree with a sigh "why is he so hot...?" dream questioned as he placed a hand on his forehead while his face turned a galaxy color palette; shades of dark purple with light shades of blue mixed in with little splotches of light purple.
killer reappeared on the other side of the portal that lead to his room which he immediately slumped against one of the walls and fell to the ground on top of his blood stained carpeting with a long sigh that he was sure dust and horror could hear from the other sides of the walls "im in love..." "WHO SUMONED ME?" epic boomed out as he teleported into killers room with pizazz causing killer to screech like a little girl "why the fuck are you here?" "i have no clue lately ive been just teleporting to people who need romance advice." epic said nonchalantly as he shrugged his shoulders with a smirk "so whos the lucky guy?" "outer." killer said with a sigh as his face turned a slight tint of red while epics smirk only got wider as he pullout a rubber chicken "just dont." killer said as he pushed the chicken down.
"your no fun," epic said with a dejected sigh "so does he have any weak points? or a place that you both love and know well? or does he have a favorite flower? have you ever seen him... shirtless?" epic whispered that last word noticing how fast killer went from ok to redder than a tomato which made epic burst into laughter "all joking aside lets get on with more ques-" "everything that you just said i have no fucking clue about, except for a special place." killer exclaimed cutting off epic "i see then," epic said as he rubbed his temples slowly "i need to know more aout how you see him." "hes perfect, a delicate beauty with elegance and perfection, and his eyes are the most beautiful thing i have ever layed eyes on ..." killer said dreamily as he placed a hand under his chin and epic looked at him while writing down some notes.
"orchids, at the special place and make sure the orchids are different colors, maybe even throw in one or two iris's to spice up the bouquet of flowers your choosing for him." "what?" killer questioned as he was dragged through a portal that lead to a world full of flowers and plants of all sorts each twice the size of killer "welcome to whatever the fuck the name of this AU is!" epic said as a small fanfare played in the distance "these are all twice the size of us! how are we supposed to pick them!" killer exclaimed "follow me," epic said as he showed killer the way through the AU "not all plants are giant a few patches have stayed small but are still influenced by the magic greatly so they have a calming entrancing aroma that could make nightmare want to have a child with dream." "that was a disgusting example, but hey that good to know!" killer said happily as he walked up to the sans of that AU to greet the sleeping skeleton.
the skeleton was wearing a pair of overalls with a loose black shirt and a classic, blue, dirt stained hoodie over top with some work boots a red dirt stained scarf around his neck and a pair of goggles that rested on his skull nicely "hey flower you awake we got another customer." epic said waking flower up for killer to see he had a bunch of bright blue, almost glowing, normally golden flowers in his right eye-socket that had roots growing out of it slightly cracking his skull as the roots made their way down to his teeth and the stems cracked the upper part of his eye-socket shocking killer when he looked over to him "nice to see you again epic although you did wake me from my nap," flower said with a yawn "what flowers will it take to get your special ones attention?" "o-orchids and a few iris's." killer said shaking a little he was a little shook at the skeletons appearance "sorry if im scaring you, i cant help but be this way." flower said as he walked out from behind the sentry post.
"a long time ago a little flower said the world could be happy if one made a sacrifice, and no that flower was not what you guys may know as flowey," flower said as he walked deeper into the glade followed by the two others "no one else wanted to make the sacrifice so did, the world was reset after that and everyone was back to normal the way it should be except i had a singular flower growing out of my eye-socket and with each reset another one grew beside it or above it, and now i have like about fifteen flowers in my eye-socket where my normal eye light was." "dang thats pretty deep flower." killer said as he looked at the small patch of normal sized flowers in the center of the glade "yeah its a shame that the crazy amounts of positivity and negativity leaking into this AU have ruined the natural growth states of flowers and plants and killed at least fifty percent of humanity along with my brother," flower said as he handed them a vase and some clippers "take a few and leave after paying me the coinage." "many thanks man, your kindness is greatly appreciated by me and killer." epic said as he started to look around for a certain flower he had a seen a while back when he was helping nightmare with cross and dream with ink.
"found it!" "what!" killer exclaimed as he turned around with few different variations of orchids in hand "this flower is exactly what you need to woo outer." epic said as he handed killer the galaxy iris that almost glowed in the low lighting "are you sure about that?" killer asked as he held the flower gently "trust me, thats all you need to get your man." "if you say so... um, flower i would like this one, how much will it cost me?" killer asked as he showed flower the iris in his hand having flower inspect it "i see that epic chose a nice one for you, magic not to strong nor to weak, and im assuming you care about outer more than words can describe?" flower asked getting a small nod from killer whose face had turned a shade of crimson once more upon outers mention "in that case shes yours, a love like the one you have for outer cant be bought." "really! thank you so much flower this just what i need!" killer exclaimed a she spun in a few circles happily before being stopped by flower "i hope that things go well for you and outer." flower said with a soft smile as he waved good bye to epic and killer "maybe one day epic can know..." flower said with a soft sigh as he sat back down at his sentry post.
the next day killer teleported to outertale and walked over to the tree he and outer had met at with a flower in hand with a note attached only to find outer was already their doing the same thing killer had been doing last night "hey outer," killer said grabbing outers attention "i made it just like i said i would!" "thats great!" outer said as he walked over to killer who seemed to turn a deep shade of red at the action "whats up with the pretty flower? whoever's getting it is a very lucky lady or man." outer said as his face turned a light shade of galaxy at the last bit "oh! actually its for you theirs a note tht you might want to read." killer said as he handed outer the flower and watched as he began reading it and his face turned a darker shade of galaxy making killer worry "i understand that you dont feel the same way, how could anyone love me anywa-" killers sentence was cut off by outer tackle hugging him and knocking him to the ground catching killer off guard "w-what?" "i love you to killer! i was worried you wouldnt love me back!" outer exclaimed happily as he cuddled up closer to killer who was also very happy about that fact that he had someone to love.

thehollowprince said: And I also stand by the opinion that they could have just done a solo run of the O5 X-Men starting a new timeline with the information they got from the future.
thehollowprince said: Its not like Marvel doesn’t constantly do AUs and retcons
OMG Josh you have no idea how bad I wanted this. They could’ve done SO MUCH with that concept. Letting the 05 keep their foreknowledge and the world they could have created with that?
They could’ve averted the initial Krakoan mission and saved Darwin, Gabe, Petra and Sway in the first place. They could have all been X-Men from their Day One, Scott and Alex would have actually gotten to KNOW their brother and Gabe quite possibly would never have gone full Dark Side despite the writers apparently now seeming obsessed with the idea there’s just something innately bad within Gabe that’s always destined to bear fruit at some point, ugh, whatever, like who do you think you are, Kant?
They could’ve recruited the Giant Size X-Men lineup earlier, and saved John Proudstar, who side by side with his brother Jamie, are a force to be reckoned with.
They could have convinced Pietro and Wanda to join them instead of the Avengers and been like no but seriously that way lies nothing but shitty storylines and bad decisions that will be blamed on you by your teammates despite the fact that any and all of the bad decisions that were ACTUALLY yours could have been averted if any of your teammates were capable of functioning as an actual support system. Come join us. We have actual support systems, except for the times when we don’t, but we recruited Deadpool to break the fourth wall and he and Logan are currently cutting through the ranks of every writer who would write as hating and fighting each other instead of being a loving fucking family goddammit.
Jean could have faced the Phoenix head-on when the time for that came, using her knowledge of the future not to fear an inevitable death, but rather to know she had nothing TO fear, that the power to not control this force, but just be ONE with it, with no NEED to control it or be controlled by it, a symbiotic union, two beings in harmony deciding on courses of action together. The Phoenix’s innate powers and prerogative of rebirth and destruction tempered by Jean’s mercy, aimed and focused by Jean’s reason, the double-edged sword that is fire capable of warming homes or destroying them completely combined with Jean’s conscience guiding it to use its power for the former rather than the latter.
They could have stopped the Legacy Virus from getting out and killing millions as well as spared us from migraines induced by an AIDS metaphor so shitty at being a metaphor most people forget it was literally written to be an AIDS metaphor.
The body swap would never have happened and Kwannon could have joined the X-Men as a full member from the time she was introduced, rather than dragged along in the wake of Betsy’s tangled storylines for a couple decades.
They could have stopped Fitzroy from killing the Hellions. Hell, if they train Illyana early enough and have her mentored by Wanda who is perfectly fucking competent when left to her own devices, then like, maybe they can even take a jaunt to the future to save Fitzroy from dying in the first place and being resurrected with no soul. Not gonna lie, ever since then I’ve kinda been seriously interested in what the hell would a hero version of Trevor freaking Fitzroy even BE like, y’know? Call it morbid fascination, but like. I kinda want it, guys. LOL.
Add to that note, they could have taken another jaunt to the future and rescued Rachel from being made into a Hound by Ahab. Through the power of some convoluted plot tangle I just made up for convenience, Scott still ends up in a relationship with Maddy briefly, in one of those self-fulfilling prophecy type things where he went into it with the full intention of just averting the future and saving Maddy from her fate as the Goblyn Queen, but somehow ended up in a love triangle with a very alive Jean and Maddy who is fully informed of Sinister’s shenanigans and quite displeased with that asshole, and look, I don’t know how all of this goes exactly, but let’s cut to the chase, my only real endgame with this is making sure that Nate’s born properly, saved from Apocalypse and the techno-virus by the combined efforts of Scott, Maddy and Jean as well as Uncles Warren, Bobby and Hank, and Jean calls up the Phoenix through some psychic bond or whatever and is like hey girl, can I hit you up for a loan real quick? Got some losers that need toasting.
And in this AU the Phoenix totally has her back, and one brief cosmic power-up and gratuitous Sailor Moon transformation later, Jean glows and intones some epic one-liners with appropriate gravitas, and then just punts both Apocalypse and Sinister to the far side of the universe, never to be seen or heard from again. They like, hit a black hole on the way there I guess. It was very sad. Violin strings may commence with the requiem. Okay that’s enough, they can stop now.
So then through the plot contrivances of fuck you, I said so, Scott and Maddy ultimately part amicably and Scott and Jean get back together and the three of them civilly co-parent both baby Nate and Rachel, as Maddy keeps the healing powers she gained as Anodine and stays with the X-Men for her own reasons.
The telepaths are all better trained by the expertise Jean gained in her powers while in the future, so the next time the Shadow King comes bumming around looking to cause chaos, Betsy, Emma and Jean just look at each other and laugh and say nuh-uh before psychically squishing him into a marble.
Warren never becomes Archangel. Onslaught isn’t a thing. They make nice with Magneto and say okay you may have a couple points, let’s discuss. Bishop arrives in the past for reasons totally unrelated to his original story, has no traitor to seek out among the X-Men, and thus he and Gambit end up besties in complete defiance of that stupid fucking story and because I just think they’re neat together. Yes I said neat. Gambit and Bishop are just neat. Deal with it.
Bishop still hates that Fitzroy guy though, he’s like, I don’t even know what it is about that guy, he just rubs me the wrong way, even though Fitzroy is not evil here and has always done good with his powers, which are channeled through a device Forge made him that lets him just absorb life force from a wide range around him, spread out and diluted enough that its like, the grass feels weird for a second, like whoa what even was that, and then its over. Actually, y’know what, scratch that. Fitzroy’s powers are stupid and unnecessary the way they are now anyway, so fuck it, this Fitzroy doesn’t need life force or whatever, he’s just a dude who makes time portals. He’s like Illyana with green hair and that ugly goatee. Hey I said this Fitzroy was non-evil, not that he was perfect.
Bobby’s out and proud since he was sixteen, and with actual competence and proficiency with his powers, which make him a Literal Unkillable Gay Icon, he’s an inspiration to LGBTQ+ teens everywhere and inspires other gay, bi and trans heroes to come out. He’s a big brother figure to all the baby gays that later join the X-Men, like, Rictor comes to him for advice back during the time equivalent to early X-Factor, when Rictor’s a trying-too-hard sixteen year old who thought college age Bobby was like the coolest, which is valid, because X-Factor Bobby was like A+ Bobby characterization and deserves more reads.
So Rictor comes out earlier as well, and by the time they even meet Shatterstar, instead of a slow burn friends to roommates to lovers scenario, Rictor takes one look at the love of his life and wastes no time coming out swinging with an absolutely terrible pick up line. Look, I said his big brother figure Bobby was out and proud in this AU, not that he magically had a better sense of humor. Some things just don’t change, y’know? Luckily, Shatterstar is a weirdo, and thus he finds terrible pick-up lines charming. At least when its Rictor saying them. They walk off for a first date, already practically hand in hand, voices fading into the distance as Rictor asks “By the way, have you met Dazzler yet? According to Bobby, apparently she’s your mom. That Longshot dude with the mullet over there is your dad I guess. We should go say hi.”
Hank gets an assistant hand-picked by the rest of the original X-Men, and who has one job and one job only. To follow him around and observe all his experiments, and he has veto power over experiments that People With IQs As High As Yours Should Know Better But I Guess You’ve Got Reed Richards Syndrome.
Hank’s like, “Hmm, if I built a time machine I could go back to the Jurassic Period and observe whether my theory of - “
Hank’s assistant: “Veto.”
“Damn. Okay I was also thinking of making a deep space communicator that can reach into the farthest reaches of space beyond any known civilization and just say hi, y’know? See if anyone’s out there.”
“Veto.”
“If I combine these genetically modified antibodies here with this strain of of DNA from - “
“Veto.”
“Well Forge built this device that does this to mutant powers but I think I can make it do - “
“Veto.”
“These nanobots I - “
“VETO,”
“Honestly, at this point I think you’re just saying that just because you like saying it.”
“Dr. McCoy, I promise you, I’m really, really not.”
Logan finds out about his future clan of stabby children, and seeks them out. He rescues Daken from Romulus, somebody stabs that loser with the immortal-killing sword, I don’t even care who, and after a few tense months of Logan trying too hard, he and Daken eventually bond over how hockey just isn’t violent enough. If you’re going to make a sport all about hitting each other, just really go for it or don’t even bother, y’know? Logan claps him on the shoulder and sniffs. That’s my boy. Then they find and rescue Laura and Gabby and take a road trip to Earth 1610 to pick up Jimmy. They have a house on campus, and new students walking by it are used to hearing loud growling and even howls. They were assured during orientation that that’s nothing to worry about, it just means the House of Snikt are watching a game and are rooting for opposing sides.
Emma’s recruited practically the day they get back. She’s only just started at the Hellfire Club and has only done a tiny bit of Evil when Warren schedules an appointment with her, and then he, Scott and Jean make a better pitch than Shaw and his ilk could ever match. They’ve been to the future. Come join with us and we’ll give you an all access pass to memories detailing exactly what’s going to happen in these particular areas and many more. All you have to do is ask. Oh and also please don’t seduce any married teammates. Its bad form. To be honest, I don’t think it’ll be an issue because Deadpool assures us Morrison has been taken care of, and don’t worry if that makes no sense to you, its a head-scratcher for us to. Just roll with it.
Nate ages normally here so its not like he ends up besties with forty year old Wade, but the latter having his own plot-contrived knowledge of the future because He’s Just Like That, decides that he won’t be denied at least SOME kind of bond with The Bestie That Wasn’t. He becomes Nate’s official babysitter. Well, not official, seeing as how Scott, Jean and Maddy don’t hire him and are very clear that their son is not to be left alone with this man at any time, he is a terrible influence and he keeps giving our kid guns. But then Wade just shows up anytime they’re out because he just has a sixth sense for Making Trouble, and he terrifies away whatever babysitter’s there and greets the returning and exasperated parents with a cheery wave.
“I know what you’re going to say, but don’t worry, we didn’t do anything dangerous or against the law. All we did today was I taught him to make bombs, but we were very careful, we wore safety goggles and really, they were very little bombs. Not even anything atomic. I honestly don’t think any of them could have even blown up this whole house, and I’ve been meaning to say, I’m not impressed with the structural integrity of this place. Couldn’t you have picked something with a sturdier foundation? Its like you don’t even expect random space mercenaries to attack your place out of the blue every other month. Have any of you even read a single issue of your own comics?”
Scott’s jaw twitches Ominously. Wade starts gathering up his things. Jean rubs her forehead wearily.
“Wade, what do you even think ‘dangerous’ means?”
Wade pauses and cocks his head. Gives it a solid twenty seconds of thought. Then he shrugs.
“I don’t know actually. Don’t think I’ve ever really thought about it. I always figured it was just one of those things people just say. Like, ‘oh, it looks like rain today,’ even if they’re not a forecaster and have no real meteorological credentials to speak of. ‘Oh, this mission will be dangerous,’ and I don’t even have to use up all my ammo and I only get shot twice. Y’know?”
“Leave,” Scott says. More like intones. House shakes a little bit but that might just be Wade’s imagination. Its very active.
“Leaving!” He says hastily. He jumps through the closed window and then teleports away amid the falling shower of broken glass. Why didn’t he do that while he was still inside the room? No one knows. Not even Wade knows. Why did the chicken cross the road? Who the fuck cares, now is it Original Recipe or Crispy?
Scott, Jean and Maddy search the house while Nate angelically claims they won’t find anything, Wade doesn’t even bring him cool stuff anymore cuz he knows you’ll just take it.
Maddy finds a high-tech laser space gun under a floorboard in the closet. She holds it up with one eyebrow raised pointedly. Scott and Jean flank her and their own eyebrows raise in solidarity. Well Jean’s does. Scott’s probably does but its hard to tell sometimes. Depends on what glasses or visor he’s wearing.
“That was already there,” Nate tries. Most powerful telepath and telekinetic in the world, but the kid can’t lie for shit. There’s not much point in trying when one of your moms is the freaking Phoenix, and that’s a skill that takes practice he just doesn’t have.
The three sets of parental eyebrows make a V, judgingly.
“One month of no video games or TV?” Okay, so terrible liar but quick on his feet. At least he knows when he’s beat and jumps straight to trying to shape his own punishment proactively.
“Two months. And no flying lessons either,” Jean says. “And don’t pout at me, young man. You know the rules. No weapons inside the house unless your grandpa Corsair is visitng and we’re too tired to fight him on keeping knives under his pillow. This is a Do As We Say, Not As We Do house. Deal with it. Now, this is going with the others and you can have it back when you’re eighteen.”
It would have been three months, but Jean and Maddy caught a telepathic sniff from Scott. He’s just so proud of his kid thinking so tactically. He’s growing up so fast. Both women mentally roll their eyes. Why is he like this.
“I don’t see what the big deal is anyway,” Nate sulks. “Its just a stupid laser gun. I mean, Uncle Gabe blew up our last house with his brain.”
“Yes and it was an accident and he feels absolutely terrible about that which is why we’re not going to bring it up when he and Armando come visit this weekend, right?”
“You can have my full compliance for two weeks off my sentence.”
“Or we can have your full compliance or two weeks will be added to your sentence,” Maddy says.
“You guys suck,” declares the ten year old vessel of near unlimited psychic might. He goes to his room, stomping all the way up the stairs so his grievances can be heard even by the House of Snikt next door. Course, they’ve already been listening to the whole thing with their enhanced hearing. There was nothing good on TV. Jimmy made popcorn and chewed with his mouth open just to piss off Daken.
‘The second Father leaves the room, I am going to stab you in such a slow healing place you’ll still be bleeding at bed time.’ Daken mouths at his little brother from another universe. Jimmy scrunches his face in confusion.
‘What?’ He mouths back. He’s terrible at reading lips. Or anything that isn’t skateboarding, really. And yet Father’s so happy that ‘at least one of my kids is content with stupid normal stuff and doesn’t go around drawing cover fire just because a mission is going so well its boring and they haven’t even gotten to pop their claws out yet.’
“That’s only because you’ve coddled him. He’s barely ever even been shot at. Just the one time on vacation in Majipoor and he wasn’t even the target, the assassin was aiming for me. If you would just let me take him on a proper outing to gain some real experience - “
“Not gonna happen.” Logan shuts that down real quick.
“Really Father, just look at him. He has zero situational awareness. I’ve been glaring a hole in the back of his head for a full minute now and he has no idea. That could just as easily be an actual laser scope, you know. He’s a disgrace to the whole family.”
“Daken, we’ve been over this,” Logan says firmly. “You have your sisters to bond with over gratuitous violence. Leave your brother alone. I don’t want anyone traumatizing him until trauma finds him all on its own. It’ll happen sooner or later, he’s as much a part of this family as anyone and that means its as good as done already, so there’s no need to hurry it along. If later on he decides he’s got a taste for it, you can take him on all the outings to get shot at that you want. But he’s gotta figure it out for himself first, and he doesn’t need his big brother being the one who introduces him to all that. He idolizes you, you know.”
Daken scoffs. He can’t even get the brat to chew with his mouth closed.
“He cut his hair from that style he liked so much, just because you hated it so much,” Logan says obliviously. Daken nods like he’s conceding the argument and hastens from the room while he can still keep his mouth shut. It won’t benefit anyone at this point to tell their father that Jimmy really only cut his hair because Daken told him he would set it on fire if he didn’t.
Ugh, families are the worst. Don’t even get him started on Laura stealing some of his clothes to wear without asking. And then has the gall to yell back at him when he yells “Silk! Its the finest cut of silk! Does that mean nothing to you?” at her.
“Oh get over it. Its not like I asked for killer robots to interrupt my date.”
“Of course they were going to interrupt your date with that Julian boy. I keep telling you, he’s a magnet for trouble. I can tell. I’m one too, remember?”
“Fine, whatever, you’re right and I should just expect every date with Julian from now until the end of time to end with fire and disaster.”
“Well now you’re being melodramatic. There’s no way that boy makes it past twenty five. He doesn’t even have a healing factor.”
“Why do you hate him so much anyway? If you’d just give him a chance - “
“What are you talking about? I give him a chance every single time he’s here and I don’t kill him.”
“Ugh, I can’t even talk to you when you’re like this. You always do this, you just decide on something and then you commit to that like the fate of the world depends on you standing firm on what’s usually a completely arbitrary decision in the first place!”
Daken sniffs. “I can assure you, there’s absolutely nothing arbitrary about my disdain for the Keller boy.”
“His name is Julian,” Laura enunciates with a glare.
“I don’t care,” Daken enunciates with an expression of lofty superiority.
“You two are so dumb,” Gabby says from the end of the hallway. They both turn identical glares on her. They’d noticed her arrive several minutes ago but they weren’t about to be distracted from their battle of wills. “Laura, you know Daken isn’t actually going to kill Julian. He doesn’t do that anymore except for really bad people sometimes and he just talks about stabbing people or killing them cuz he thinks he’s funny and then he gets all pissy because nobody ever gets that he doesn’t really mean it. He doesn’t even hate Julian and he used to be fine with him before he started dating you, its just he doesn’t think he’s good enough for you.”
Daken frowns at the petite would-be peacemaker. Meddlesome toddler. “What are you even babbling about? None of that is remotely true.”
Gabby rolls her eyes up at her brother from her much lower height. She taps the side of her nose with emphasis. “You do know we all have the same abilities to smell and analyze scents as you do, right? And you know everything you can tell from peoples’ scent, right? Of course I’m right, I can smell it as clear as anything and so can Jimmy and Dad and we actually all know this and talk about it all the time, and its why Dad never actually gets mad at you for talking about killing people because he can smell you’re saying it just cuz you’re used to saying it but really you’re too marshmallowy on the inside now to do half the stuff you claim you’re gonna do. Hate to break it to you bro, but you’re a closet softie and you’ve been made. The nose doesn’t lie. Only reason Laura doesn’t know it is because you piss her off like its your favorite hobby and its probably impossible for her to smell anything beyond her own scent of Royally Pissed Off.”
Ugh. Meddlesome insightful toddler. Who asked for her intervention anyway? Daken crosses his arms in a way that’s decidedly aloof and not at all sulking.
Laura’s staring at their sister assessingly. “That’s really what you think is going on? And Jimmy and Dad think so too? You’re not just saying all that?”
Gabby bats her eyes up at them. “Would I lie to you?”
“Yes,” Laura says without missing a beat.
“Without a shadow of a doubt,” Daken says dryly, right on her heels.
“For the sake of a candy bar,” Laura adds, because that really did happen.
“Or just boredom, because god forbid you pick up another hobby that isn’t just Chaos.”
“This from the guy who only has fun when there’s blood and bullets flying about,” Gabby fires back from a position of petite petulance.
Daken smirks down at her. “Didn’t you just say I don’t really mean it when I say all of that?”
Gabby narrows her eyes. “Touché. My own words thrown back at me. I am undone.”
“Yes, well - “
Daken’s cut off as Jimmy chooses that moment to walk past them down the hallway to the bathroom. He’s laughing and shaking his head.
“You guys are both so dumb. She plays you like this all the time, and you never see it.”
“Silence, mortal!” Gabby thunders at their brother menacingly. The effect is somewhat diminished by the fact that she can’t hit a baritone note to save her life.
“No, I’m interested in hearing what he has to say,” Daken says coolly. “For once. This is a moment without precedent and one unlikely to occur again, so let’s explore it a bit.”
Jimmy sighs and shakes his head without ever losing that amused smirk. “Had to tack on that last part, didn’t you. Just couldn’t help yourself.”
“I am a faithful student of the Truth,” Daken says, matching his brother smirk for smirk.
“The point, Jimmy?” Laura prods aggressively before that can erupt into a wholly separate thing she wants no part of.
“Oh, right.” He shrugs nonchalantly. “Its kinda her thing with you two when you get like this. You pick a fight with Laura, Laura gets pissed off and succumbs to the family curse of Tunnel Vision at the Worst Possible Time, and you both go back and forth endlessly and like you have all the time in the world for your stupid tete a tete, because on account of you both being practically unkillable and immortal, you kinda do and you know it. And then whenever she gets bored of listening to you two, Gabby swoops in and draws both of your attention until you’re both so focused on being annoyed with her you don’t even realize you’re actually side by side agreeing with each other, and she keeps it up just long enough til she’s sure she can just say she’s bored now and just leave the room, leaving you both annoyed and frustrated by a fight you can’t even claim to have won because she really just kinda...left, in the middle of it, and you’re so focused on that, you’ve totally forgotten to be pissed at each other. And by the time you do remember, like, the moment has passed and peace has been returned to the kingdom. Or at least as peaceful as this place ever gets.”
Daken stares at his mistake of a brother in the hopes that if he stalled long enough, his senses would arrive at a different conclusion. But nope. Scents don’t lie, unlike baby sis, apparently. He’s telling the truth. And Daken really does not....care for that conclusion.
Gabby stamps her foot and glares up at their brother.
“You are such a tattletale. I am providing a service, by keeping this family free of these two constantly at each others throats, and how is that service repaid? With betrayal! I hate you, you’re dead to me. Never speak to me again or at least not until I’ve stopped being mad at you, but that could be like ten years or something, I don’t even know right now.”
She draws up to her full height and squares her shoulders as she thunders this Mighty Mouse style at the still laughing Jimmy. Then, seeing she’d yet to make a dent in his armor of amusement and he was failing to take her pronouncement seriously, she punctuated her declaration by spitting on their brother’s shoe. Daken’s eyebrows shoot up again, this time in amusement of his own. Gabby then spins around on her heel and stalks off down the hallway, muttering more dire threats under her breath as she goes, the sound of them nonetheless carrying clearly to three siblings with enhanced hearing of their own. And apparently, little sis could be quite creative. Who knew she’d been hiding such talent?
Jimmy barely even notices; he’s still staring down at his shoe.
“Dude, you spit on me! That’s so not cool.”
“Some things need to be expressed so strongly, mere words will not suffice,” Daken says loftily, savoring a slightly renewed sense of superiority.
One quickly dashed, of course, because apparently he just can’t have anything.
“Bold words from the seventy year old who needed the sixteen year old to clue him in he’s being regularly manipulated by the twelve year old,” Jimmy fires back. As a return volley, its obnoxiously effective, and Daken’s still grinding his teeth and searching for an adequate rejoinder as Jimmy just grins even wider and then strolls off down the hallway as well. Whistling either an absolutely hideous song or else proof that he’s absolutely hideous at whistling. Tough call. With him it could be either.
Daken and Laura both stare after him in silence as he rounds the corner and disappears, leaving only the lingering scent of smugness in his wake. Daken hates the scent of smugness. It has a particularly....cloying feel to it. Well not his of course. But everyone else’s, especially little brothers? Acrid is the only word adequate for that.
“Sometimes I really do want to stab him. Just a little bit. And I’m not even lying,” Daken says. Laura just nods, her own nose scrunched up in distaste as well.
“Honestly? Me too.”
Brother and sister enjoy the rare moment of solidarity.
“You know what’s really bugging me?” Laura says suddenly, still staring off down the hallway. Daken turns an inquiring eye on her, prompting elucidation. She frowns.
“Where the hell did he learn a phrase like tete a tete? I mean. Its Jimmy.”
Daken does know what she means, and frowns as the nagging awareness of that leaps from his sister to himself like memetic chain lightning.
“And he used it correctly. That’s....unexpected.”
“Sometimes I wonder if maybe he’s not as completely airheaded as he pretends, and the fact that he’s got everyone so convinced of that actually means he’s running circles around the rest of us,” Laura says. She shrugs. “Of course, then I have to question everything and who has that kind of time and also the very idea of genius mastermind Jimmy disturbs me on a deeply visceral level. So then I just. Stop doing that.”
Daken nods and sighs. “Sometimes, that’s all you can do.”
“Okay, this is annoying. I kinda still want to fight, but now fighting with you feels kinda anticlimactic. Ugh, siblings are the worst,” Laura declares with a glower. “They ruin everything.”
“On that, we can agree. With allowances for temporary occasions of some of them being bearable,” Daken says. Some.”
“That’s the nicest thing you’ve never said to me, big brother,” Laura says lightly. Daken swiftly scowls but she holds up a hand to forestall any rebuttal. “Sorry, don’t mean to ruin the moment. I’m thinking about how else we can put all that frustrated energy to good use. Wanna go pick a fight with the Summers’ kids?”
A slow smile spreads across Daken’s face. “Well now. Finally, a family outing I can get behind. I believe that’s precisely what we need right now. Care to lead the way?”
He still hates her boyfriend, of course, but he supposes he can let that be.
For now, at least.

R&J vs. RetJ
so with several retj productions inserting and incorporating shakespeare’s text and characterizations, sometimes willy-nilly, sometimes purposefully, it got me thinking to what extent presgurvic’s musical (original french for simplicity’s sake) differs from the original shakespeare play. so here is a non-exhaustive list of changes, both major and minor:
first the biggest change: in the musical, everyone knows about retj’s love affair, although the extent of the families’ knowledge differs depending on the adaptation. in some the capulets and montagues are well-informed, in some it is only a nasty rumor. the change serves not only to jump-start act two with immediate conflict, but to bring the feud to the forefront. the tension between the communal and the individual also accentuates retj’s love further—their love means more when they defend it against their friends and families, and the tension only fuels their passion. the knowledge can also work as a bit of subtext to demain. it’s a really great change/addition, and one i suspect even shakespeare would be a little impressed with, even if he would personally never do it for his play—it’d just open up too many plot holes for it to be doable
tybalt’s love for juliette. really unorthodox and controversial, for obvious reasons, but i fall on the side of liking the change. psychologically it makes sense as it’s part-and-parcel with tybalt’s madonna-whore misogyny (he even says retj’s love is “the rotten marriage of vice and virtue”) and his frustration and ambivalence with his role in the feud, as well as his insistence (except for the production that must not be named and the two japanese) that juliet would never know his love. thematically, it establishes not just the theme of the power of love, but also the ways it can lead you astray
the deletion of rosaline in most productions of the musical. (there is a rosaline analogue of the girl dancer in love with romeo, also with the same name. in the hungarian rosa is merely romeo’s ex). in shakespeare’s play, rosaline was romeo’s unrequited love infatuation; the primary reason for rosaline is shakespeare’s brief but pointed parallel between infatuation/lust (rosaline) and actual love/attraction (juliet). it is a critique of the petrarchian beauty praised endlessly, but never seen. but as people no longer write clichéd sonnets about a girl hottie (we just have pop love songs that are just “baby” repeated a million times instead), and as there is no way a 2 1/2 hour musical will have time for romeo’s blank verse thirst about how rosaline won’t give him the treasure of her lap (yep, this is almost VERBATIM), rosaline becomes by and large superfluous in the musical, so away she goes
this also ties into romeo’s playboyness (gigolo? manwhore? my kingdom for a neutral descriptor) in the musical, a compression of the whole rosaline plotline. (also lbr here, presgurvic took one look at damien sargue and said, “hahahaha nope no way this romeo would have trouble with any girl” and just wrote as is. #canon)
lady capulet’s infidelity, chronic or otherwise, in the musical, which echoes the coldness and distance of shakespeare’s lady capulet; it isn’t a big stretch to extrapolate that as arising from a loveless marriage, and tu dois te marier does one better by actually drawing a bit of a neat parallel to retj’s romance. also a good addition and again one shakespeare would probably be ok with
the nurse’s advice to juliet when she is forced to marry paris is telling. in the shakespeare, she gives two main reasons: 1) paris is so much better than romeo lookswise, 2) can’t enjoy your husband when he is exiled, so why not love the one you’re with? interestingly enough, she fails to give the most important reason as she does in the presgurvic: that is, romeo killed tybalt. whereas shakespeare’s nurse focused on personal qualities and practicalities, retj’s nurse brings up the most immediate objection. this serves to bring the feud to starker relief compared to the play.
benvolio being the one to tell romeo about juliet’s “death.” not something at all possible in the play, i know, but in the musical it works so beautifully what with everyone knowing about retj’s romance and now i have dust in my eye
death as a dancer in white. despite the other productions cutting the character completely, death serves quite a few functions in the musical: as epic foreshadowing, an embodiment of retj’s fate and mercutio’s and tybalt’s, an embodiment of the destructiveness of the feud, and the embodiment of the erotic tension of forbidden love (fittingly eroticized here), and a quasi-love interest for romeo as a kind of parallel to tybalt’s own love for juliette. the connection to the play is much subtler here: the play, while very grounded in psychological realism, has instances of...not quite magical realism, but cosmic mysticism and even myth, as heavily suggested by the “two households, both alike in dignity” prologue. fate is definitely key to the play: r&j’s love is doomed, not only because their love is forbidden, but because the power and intensity of it cannot be sustained in such a brief time - it might as well be fate that condemns it. in the end, all of that eros belongs to death, is inherently tied to it. hence you get the thirsty supernatural bitch we all know and love to love and hate
mercutio being a montague instead of an escalus (restored in later productions); benvolio as a cousin to romeo also comes and goes. i think both work: mercutio being an escalus brings in this third element, tying him more with paris and the prince and overall contributing to the worldbuilding. on the other hand, mercutio’s death needs to be felt as a real, genuine loss for the montagues as well. it makes the feud much more starker, too, in its absolutes in a you-are-either-team-montague-or-team-capulet sort of way
lord montague is deleted from most productions, making lady montague a widow and head of house. not at possible in the play, but in the musical, which has one foot firmly in the modern world, it’s a good call. i for one can’t stand to see the other productions bring him back for no good reason
in sum, the musical is very faithful overall to the play in terms of plot structure and themes, which probably makes it a big temptation for other retj productions to retain the shakespeare blank verse, but there are key differences and shifts in characterization and plot that set it very much apart. overall, the biggest difference between the two is that the feud and verona’s world in general are much better developed in the musical than in the play, which makes the popular conception of r&j as a play about hate destroying love (nope) and critiques about how retj is fluffy glittery kitsch about love (double nope) deeply ironic.
there is also a thematic shift in that shakespeare’s play was focused almost entirely on romeo and juliet’s love and its development whereas the musical extends this theme to the other characters: the nurse, capulet, tybalt, benvolio, who are connected to the central figures. there is also the theme of communal vs. individual/adults vs. youth as exemplified in les rois du monde, on dit dans la rue, and in tybalt’s c’est pas ma faute lament (i am not who they want me to be, etc.) in the musical that is just not present in the play. i suppose that if i can sum of the theme of this musical, it’d be this: love is beautiful and powerful, but it can lead people astray and even to death (or just make them act like assholes, sometimes it happens). don’t underestimate it just because you think your honor/feud/power struggles is more important. l’amour, il y a ça qui compte (“love counts”).
#romeo et juliette#romeo and juliet#the struggle is real but it's not here this time#retj#retj meta#cristina opines#in sum: knowledge is knowing retj is not an adaptation of r&j#wisdom is knowing that retj is the best adaptation of r&j

Since the dawn of time, humankind has struggled to survive the ravages of nature, the frailty of the body, and the cruel whims of fate. This is known by all. But what only the initiated know is that nature and its attendant miseries are the least of our concerns. There exist powers, realms, beyond the comprehension of a sane mind, and the dark corners of the earth are home to the twisted offspring of these powers, and to exiles from these realms.
How has humanity survived in the face of threats whose very names can sear our souls? Some say by the grace of God, some say by mere luck or by the strength of the human spirit. All these speakers are wrong. We survive because we have captured some few of these supernatural threats and put them to use. Humanity has stolen a dark fire from gods it cannot comprehend, and wields it desperately against the coming night.
ORPHEUS, a secretive paramilitary organization tracing its roots to ancient history, strives to maintain a monopoly on deployable paranormal power, operating in strike teams and secret cells around the globe. Their methods are ruthless, their resources bottomless, and their directive simple: Assess, Contain, Employ. The ORPHEUS Protocol is a tabletop role playing game in which players explore a world of eldritch horror, occult espionage, and shadowy paramilitary engagement. To this end, players take on the role of a supernaturally augmented or impeccably skilled operative with a role in ORPHEUS's eternal mission to protect the world and consolidate its supernatural power in the process. These operatives investigate strange occurrences, navigate dangerous social situations with cunning and finesse, and do battle with forces inconceivable to the unbroken human psyche.
Players familiar with The X-Files, Twin Peaks, Hellboy, Cosmic Horror Fiction, or even the Jason Bourne films should have a good idea of the game's intended feel. ORPHEUS Operatives must attempt to make sense of the impossible and insulate the “normal” world from factors it is woefully unequipped to handle. Players will infiltrate cults, prevent terror attacks, catalogue mind-shattering metaphysical phenomena, and kill and be killed by creatures that should not be, all the while engaging with a tense and delicately balanced system of resource management that mechanically models the operative’s dwindling internal reserves, the mounting dread of the supernatural, and their luck just plain running out.
The ORPHEUS Protocol is tabletop roleplaying game that has been in development for nearly 5 years. Rob Stith, the designer, was struck by the tension that the mechanics of games like Dread, Call of Cthulhu, and Don’t Walk in Winter Wood could bring to a standard RPG experience, and wished to combine that feeling with the tactical decision making found in many Euro-style board games, and set to work on creating a horror-thriller role playing game whose foundation lay on resource management mechanics. Rather than go through closed beta testing, The ORPHEUS Protocol’s main beta test has been recorded, edited, and produced as an Actual Play podcast covering a continuous, sprawling narrative of global occult conspiracy, and has been airing weekly since 2016, with well over 100 episodes and counting.
The unique thrill of The ORPHEUS Protocol rests on the use of multiple, interlocking systems of resource management that play out over different time frames. The different scopes of these different systems allows The ORPHEUS Protocol to be played in a longform campaign style, as well as more focused, episodic adventures or one-shots that place more emphasis on the more short-term, immediate systems. Multiverse-spanning epics as well as contained slasher film-style stories can, and have, been played to the horrified delight of players and GMs alike using The ORPHEUS Protocol.
The book itself will be run 300-400 pages (depending on stretch goals), and will be full-size, full-color, and professionally illustrated. The book will cover the game’s rules, character creation, setting information, and advice for GM’s to get the most out of the game’s systems as well as how to adapt the setting and system to make something all their own. Some of our stretch goals will allow us to invite writers from some of your favorite role playing products and Actual Play podcasts to contribute adventure seeds, dark mysteries, horrific creatures, and other terrifying delights.
In addition to the hardcover book, the game will also be offered as a traditional PDF, and on the Roll20 marketplace. The Roll20 format is discussed in more detail below.
The ORPHEUS Protocol runs on an original system designed by Rob Stith specifically to model the mounting dread and desperation experienced by people in over their heads in the kind of horrific and tense situations one would expect from the cosmic horror-paramilitary espionage setting. To achieve this effect, as many aspects of the game as possible are put directly into the players’ hands as resources they must make tense, important decisions with. On a moment-to-moment basis in combat, the players must decide how to spend their Initiative to best approach the current crisis. Within a Scene, players must decide the most opportune time to make use of the special mechanical advantages granted to them by their skills. Players also have pools of Mental, Physical, and Spiritual Strain, which represent their inner reserves, toughness, and luck in these different areas, and they must decide how and when to spend these resources; they confer great advantages, but can be spent much faster than they are regained if one isn’t careful. To make matters more tense, Strain not only increases a player’s effectiveness, but can also be used to buy down incoming damage, leaving the player to make hard choices about whether to go all-in on offense, or save Strain to weather the storm. On an even longer time scale, players must decide how much to make use of their supernatural abilities, if they have them; for tapping into unnatural powers grants a powerful edge, but slowly drains the player character’s humanity, making them more and more an inhuman manifestation of the strange forces that strengthen them.
Adventures and campaigns in The ORPHEUS Protocol focus on three distinct, but interwoven avenues of challenge: Investigation, Combat, and Social Influence. Each aspect is equally important, and often equally deadly.
Investigation
ORPHEUS operatives are more than soldiers. They must investigate bizarre happenings around the globe, and attempt to understand the eldritch and the unexplainable. The work of an ORPHEUS operative combines some of the most challenging aspects of a private detection, crime scene investigation, scientific research, antiquarian study, and other disciplines, all the while carrying the risk of the operative learning too much of the truth and losing their mind.
Combat
ORPHEUS operatives are often called upon to solve problems very directly, as well. Shootouts with vicious drug gangs, deadly engagements with private corporate strike teams, and direct, violent confrontation with creatures whose very existence blasphemes against the concept of nature are all an expected part of the job.
Social Influence
Just as deadly and tense as any occult mystery or desperate spate of violence, however, are the delicate social situations ORPHEUS operatives can find themselves in. Cult infiltration, corporate espionage, clandestine meetings with informants, and other such tasks can pit the operative’s life and safety against one small slip of the tongue or one failed bluff.
If you are interested in seeing more of what The ORPHEUS Protocol can do, feel free to check out our playtest document. It includes the basic rules, 5 sample characters, advice for GMs; everything needed to get a taste of the game.
DriveThruRPG - ORPHEOUS Protocol Playtest
The beta testing process for The ORPHEUS Protocol has taken a rather unusual shape. I've been running a campaign for the last 3 years, and producing our sessions into an Actual Play podcast. In this way, an ongoing series of windows into the game's development are available for free to the public. The campaign is an intricate and epic story of eldritch monstrosities, corporate skulduggery, and heroes facing desperate odds.
The show can be found HERE, and can also be found on iTunes (Apple Podcasts), Stitcher, or your podcast app of choice.
The ORPHEUS Protocol will be released in the traditional formats of PDF and hardcover, however we are also working in conjunction with Roll20 on this project. Roll20 is the world’s largest Virtual Tabletop, with over 3 million users. Virtual tabletops are an ever increasing part of the RPG community, with millions of people that have their game experience solely on these platforms.
The ORPHEUS Protocol will be built for complete incorporation into the Roll20 platform. This includes Roll20 specific character sheets, an in-platform rules compendium, and more. The Roll20 version will be a seamless digital product that will provide the best possible online play experience for The ORPHEUS Protocol.
Kickstarter campaign ends: Fri, June 7 2019 3:00 AM BST

Lore of the Terrorvortex
This was grabbed off of AZLyrics.com (and when the site decides not to crash upon opening the ninth lyrics -- apparently accessing one too many times on a single IP locks the site up, so mobile is your best bet). I’m not sure as to canonicity of this lore, since I do not have the CD booklet that came with Legends from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex, so take this with a grain of salt. A big thank you to the fine fellows of Gloryhammer for creating their fantastic lore!
Song names are included to put the lore into perspective. This is for all of the fanfic writers out there who want to have a modicum of canonical adherence to Gloryhammer (and/or extra stuff for their AU).
Into the Terrorvortex of Kor-Virliath
And lo, Planet Earth had been destroyed by the Hootsman, with an explosion so powerful it ripped a hole in the very fabric of spacetime. And yet, Zargothrax was still not defeated, for he managed to use his last shreds of power to escape through the dimensional rift. Vowing to defeat the evil sorcerer, Angus McFife XIII followed him into the portal, with no idea where it might lead. The wormhole was a truly terrifying plane of non-existence. Cosmic chaos swirled around the two eternal foes as they descended through space and time. Somehow, they could feel the presence of a third being within the portal... an entity of unimaginable power. But before Angus could ascertain the nature of this powerful force, he was thrust out of the wormhole... and Zargothrax was nowhere to be seen. Angus materialized in a place that seemed familiar... yet strangely alien. This was the Kingdom of Fife, perhaps from a time in the days of old. But it was somehow... different. The sky burned with a crimson fire, and the stench of goblin blood was thick in the air. Before him, where the Citadel of Dundee should be, stood a massive and terrible tower, a grand fortress of evil carved out of the very living rock. And atop this tower was a colossal statue of his arch nemesis... Zargothrax, the Dark Sorcerer of Auchtermuchty!
The Siege of Dunkeld
The wormhole had transported Angus and Zargothrax to an alternate dimension! And somehow, Zargothrax had materialized at an earlier point in time, letting him conquer the entire Kingdom of Fife with nothing to stand in his way. With his Hammer of Glory unable to channel the powers of this universe, Angus could not defeat the evil wizard in combat, and was forced to retreat from the battle. Even with their mysterious battle-prayers to The Hootsman, the resistance armies had no chance. From a hiding place in the hills above Dunkeld, he watched in horror as Zargothrax's army slaughtered the inhabitants of the city, the final holdout against the forces of evil. Angus could not believe his eyes when he realized who was commanding the armies of chaos... it was none other than Ser Proletius, the Grand Master of the Templar Knights of Crail! What terrible enchantment had led the alternate-universe version of this noble warrior to fight on the side of Zargothrax?!
Masters of the Galaxy
The Knife of Evil, thought Angus. One of the three powerful relics of the Ancient Starlords... the other two of course being the Hammer of Glory and the Vorpal Laserblaster of Pittenweem. As he mused on the cruel fate of his once-ally Proletius, a shadowy figure approached him. If you seek to restore the Kingdom of Fife, whispered the mysterious figure, head north to the Land of Unicorns... you will find friends there. May the Hoots be with you. And with that, the figure disappeared. This is truly a strange universe, Angus said to himself as he took the shadowy denizen's advice and headed north to Achnasheen. The armies of justice in Dunkeld, and now this messenger... all worshipping the Hootsman as a God. But that can't be... he died in the Neutronic Transnova detonation of Earth, surely?
The Land of Unicorns
Angus had finally made it to the secret base of the resistance army, hidden in the valley of Achnasheen in the Land of Unicorns. And he was surprised to find out the identity of the resistance leader... it was Ralathor, the Mysterious Hermit of Cowdenbeath! Ralathor?! he exclaimed. How did you get to this universe? That's not important right now, muttered Ralathor. What is important, is that you find a way to defeat Zargothrax. And I believe I know how to repair your hammer. Ralathor explained that the Hammer of Glory did not work in this dimension, as it needs to be charged with solar energy from a star in this universe. And the only way to do that, was to fly into space, and soar through the corona of the sun. But that's impossible! despaired Angus. Spaceships haven't been invented in this reality, there's no way for me to get to space. Not necessarily, replied Ralathor. There is a way...
Power of The Laser Dragon Fire
Heeding the words of Ralathor, Angus McFife XIII once again set out from the shores of Loch a' Chroisg on a perilous quest into the frozen lands of Caithness, in search of a mysterious ancient artifact of power... the Legendary Enchanted Jetpack. His quest would be perilous, and he would have to face many foes if he was to be successful. But he would quest nonetheless, for the Eternal Glory of Dundee!
Legendary Enchanted Jetpack
The quest had been victorious! With the power of the Legendary Enchanted Jetpack now at his disposal, Angus blasted off into space, thrusting upwards with incredible velocity, wielding the Hammer of Glory in his armor clad hands. His destination... the sun.
Gloryhammer
On the wings of his jetpack, with the newly invigorated power of the Hammer of Glory in his hands, Angus returned to the resistance base in the Land of Unicorns to prepare for the final assault on the evil sorcerer. Ralathor stood waiting for his arrival. It is time! bellowed Ralathor. Now that Angus McFife wields the power to defeat Zargothrax, we must strike! HOOTS FORCE, ASSEMBLE! Suddenly the waters of Loch a' Chroisg began to stir violently, and from the depths rose a great flying nuclear submarine, with the name DSS HOOTSFORCE' emblazoned on the side. This was the secret weapon of the resistance army! And with a glorious battle cry, the forces of justice set course to the Battlefield of Cowdenbeath, for the final battle against Zargothrax.
Hootsforce
Soon the epic battle would be fight. As Angus flew across the Highlands, towards his final destiny on the battlefields of Cowdenbeath, he thought back on the many battles he had seen in his life. Fighting goblins on the moon... destroying the Earth to save the galaxy... slaying undead unicorns in the streets of Strathmiglo... it was all leading up to this moment the one final battle to defeat Zargothrax for all time.
Battle for Eternity
Meanwhile, in the dread fortress of Dundee, the evil emperor Zargothrax was plotting his final nefarious act. He had discovered ancient scrolls of colossal power in the vast libraries of the Dundonian citadel, telling of the means by which he could gain unimaginable power. At the upcoming solar conjunction, by channeling the power of the Knife of Evil through an arcane incantation, he would transcend his mortal coil, and become an immortal god of the multiverse!
Fires of Ancient Cosmic Destiny
Even though Ser Proletius and his Deathknights of Crail had been defeated, the power of Zargothrax was still growing exponentially! It seemed now that even with the renewed power of the Hammer of Glory, the forces of justice would not be able to defeat him. Suddenly, when all seemed lost, a flash of holy light lit up the entire sky, and a being of unimaginable power descended from the heavens. It was the Hootsman! Angus realized he was the mysterious third entity he had encountered in the wormhole! The force of the detonation from his nuclear heart had not killed the Hootsman... it had merged his essence with the very fabric of reality in the terrorvortex, and he had transformed into a God! He had arrived into this reality long before the evil wizard... for thousands of years now he had looked down from the heavens upon the people of this dimension, and they had worshipped him. He had watched the arrival of Zargothrax and witnessed his bloody conquest across the land. He had seen as Angus McFife arrived through the portal and fought bravely in an attempt to save the kingdom. And now when all seemed lost... he himself would descend from the firmament and bring The Justice of Hoots to Earth.

Narrative from Legends from Beyond The Galactic Terrorvortex
Upon recent discussion, I think putting these in a master post would be great for those to read if they do not physically own the new album. This is found within the CD booklet and from this source https://www.azlyrics.com/g/gloryhammer.html when clicking on the individual songs and their corresponding narrative. Enjoy!

Zargothrax, the Dark Sorcerer of Auchtermuchty!”
2. Seige Of Dunkeld (In Hoots We Trust)
“The wormhole had transported Angus and Zargothrax to an alternate dimension! What terrible enchantment had led the alternate-universe version of this noble warrior to fight on the side of Zargothrax?!”
3. Masters of the Galaxy
“The Knife of Evil, thought Angus. But that can't be... he died in the Neutronic Transnova detonation of Earth, surely?”
4. The Land Of Unicorns
“Angus had finally made it to the secret base of the resistance army, hidden in the valley of Achnasheen in the Land of Unicorns. There is a way...”
5. Power of the Laser Dragon Fire
“Heeding the words of Ralathor, Angus McFife XIII once again set out from the shores of Loch a' Chroisg on a perilous quest into the frozen lands of Caithness, in search of a mysterious ancient artifact of power... the Legendary Enchanted Jetpack. His quest would be perilous, and he would have to face many foes if he was to be successful. But he would quest nonetheless, for the Eternal Glory of Dundee!”
6. Legendary Enchanted Jetpack
“The quest had been victorious! With the power of the Legendary Enchanted Jetpack now at his disposal, Angus blasted off into space, thrusting upwards with incredible velocity, wielding the Hammer of Glory in his armor clad hands. His destination... the sun.”
7. Gloryhammer
“On the wings of his jetpack, with the newly invigorated power of the Hammer of Glory in his hands, Angus returned to the resistance base in the Land of Unicorns to prepare for the final assault on the evil sorcerer. And with a glorious battle cry, the forces of justice set course to the Battlefield of Cowdenbeath, for the final battle against Zargothrax.”
8. Hootsforce
“Soon the epic battle would be fight. As Angus flew across the Highlands, towards his final destiny on the battlefields of Cowdenbeath, he thought back on the many battles he had seen in his life. Fighting goblins on the moon... destroying the Earth to save the galaxy... slaying undead unicorns in the streets of Strathmiglo... it was all leading up to this moment the one final battle to defeat Zargothrax for all time.”
9. Battle For Eternity
“Meanwhile, in the dread fortress of Dundee, the evil emperor Zargothrax was plotting his final nefarious act. He had discovered ancient scrolls of colossal power in the vast libraries of the Dundonian citadel, telling of the means by which he could gain unimaginable power. At the upcoming solar conjunction, by channeling the power of the Knife of Evil through an arcane incantation, he would transcend his mortal coil, and become an immortal god of the multiverse!”
10. The Fires Of Ancient Cosmic Destiny
“Even though Ser Proletius and his Deathknights of Crail had been defeated, the power of Zargothrax was still growing exponentially! And now when all seemed lost... he himself would descend from the firmament and bring The Justice of Hoots to Earth.”

Ready for a Trailer inspired idea?
Settle in, this one brings the Angst and the Drama.
The trailer with a desperate Tony nearing the end was great and all but my imagination is permanently trapped in Ironstrange hell (or is it heaven?) and came up with this "nice" sequel idea to A4:
Stephen, inside the soulstone, manages to connect himself with Tony and gives him the strength to endure and survive. When the snap is finally reversed everybody comes back and Tony is (not so patiently) waiting for Stephen to return. But he doesn't.
It's Peter who breaks the bad news to an increasingly nervous and angry Tony: Stephen almost completely used up his own lifeforce to keep Tony alive and now his soul is too weak to escape from the reality of the stone.
Tony, of course, is aghast and so far beyond angry that there are no words for it. He's desperate to save even the last person, especially considering it's Stephen. He had plans with Stephen. Throwing a tantrum about that stupid stunt with the stone is only item no. 1 and 2 on a very long list. Despite being half-dead himself and against all advice/begging from his friends he goes the reverse way and enters the reality of the stone, determined to safe Stephen and scream at him for… well. Pretty much everything actually.
The dimension inside the stone has altered now that only one occupant is left. It's a nightmarish mix-and-match of remnants of our own reality (disfigured imaginations from Stephen's life before the crash), Dormammu and all the other shit Stephen had to endure in the last few years.
By the time Tony finally finds what's left of a once great and bright soul he knows Stephen as well as Stephen knows Tony from 14.000.605 timelines. Tony has kind of fallen for Stephen just like Stephen has for him. He still wants to scream at him but he can't. Not when he sees what Stephen did to himself to keep Tony alive. He falls on his knees in front of Stephen and just stares for a long moment, unable to form even one word. It's not that he doesn't know that he was an important key player in righting everything, he's not stupid. He just can't comprehend what lengths Stephen was willing to go for him. It's a very sobering realization of just how important in the cosmic scheme he apparently really is and Tony's not ready to accept that.
Stephen's been drifting and slowly fading away ever since the managed to convince a reluctant Peter to leave him behind and follow the siren call back home. He knows that this is the end and all he can do now is wait. There's no one to bargain with, nothing from which his soul can take the required power to let him leave. So he thinks that the feeling of Tony gathering him up in his arms and murmuring soothing and encouraging nonsense is a last hallucination/gift from his dying brain. He's ready to give up since he knows that Tony has succeeded and everyone is back where they belong. It's okay. It is what he has seen.
Tony's not giving up, he's not built for that. Out of sheer stubbornness and more by pure luck than anything else he manages to forge a connection between their souls. Now he's the one giving enough strength to Stephen to be able to bring him home, too.
Back there, when they both have recovered, there will be an epic screaming match. There will be arguments, there will be cold silence and hurt feelings. But they'll come back to each other over and over again because they both can't forget what they know about each other. It ends, predictably, with them ending up together.
And that's my wild fever dream for the movie after Avengers: Endgame. Maybe it's called The Long Way Back or something cliché like that. 😎 Let me live in denial and Ironstrange until the movie really drops and we all have to find even more creative ways to get them together.
#ironstrange#not spamming any other tags with this thing#but you're here with me and so you'll get to see it#amy imagines#i'd love to give this the proper fic treatment but it's too long and complex for my limited writing

Answer to Anon: A New Canon
Fancy seeing you again, Nonny. Allow me to take my time to answer you properly since you explayed yourself aswell.
So, the thing is: JJ Abrams had a plan, then they changed the director and script. Alotta shit happened. Rey parents were supposed to be important? That was cut off, destroyed, buried and never talked about again. Rey’s visions? Fuck that, bring shirtless Ren. Finn story? Sidequest with light romance because apparently reylo wasn’t enough. Snoke’s death? A literal joke of April’s Fool. Knights of Ren? What the fuck would we bother with that, bring the Praetonian Guard (the coreography was kinda amazing but those badass motherfuckers are the best of the best and you are telling me that the girl with bare to none training and Ren can take them down unhurt? Please). Seems pretty convenient to me.
I would rather have an epic battle of seven force-users as strong as Ren himself BEFORE he even gets close enough to Snoke AND THEN he kills him. But he dies because of the wounds. He may tell Rey he didn’t do it to save her. She didn’t need to be save. He did it because he needed her as a distraction. Cause that was her role on his vision of this precise moment. That was the cosmic reason for her being there. “What vision?” She may ask. Well...
I’m going to tell you my headcanon, which was about Ren being what we call a Grey Jedi that turned to the Dark Side to destroy it from the inside once and for all, even if he himself was lost to his impulses on the process. He realiced when he was young that the pacifism that Luke was teaching him would’t save the Galaxy of what has to come (insert a vision for example) and SOMEONE had to step up and get that shit done. So he went and decided to do it himself. A little bit of pride. A little bit of imprudence too. Just like his grandfather. I would like him to die on the Dark Side, consumed by the hatred and rage he was forced to endure in order to get there, but he went too deep.
His spirit was lost to the Dark Side, but the Light won that battle with his sacrifice. He went as far as it was necessary. He sacrificed his father in order to get closer to that goal. He gave it all. And then he died. Like a villain, like a hero.
And the tragedy here is that Snoke wasn’t the real villain. Darth Sidious was (as we heard on the Rise of the Skywalker trailer). He was so focused on destroying Snoke that he lost the perspective (something that as a pure Jedi would never happend), and he died before completing his life’s mission true objective. That’s what I call an epic fail.
Imagine that soul being reached out by his grandfather’s ghost just to tell him he was proud, but he was a fool and Snoke wans’t the threat he sensed. Imagine Ren coming back as a Force Ghost just to reach out for Rey to fucking help her to finish the cicle. Imagine her reservations to follow a Dark Side Ghost’s advice, but also sensing the Force telling her it’s the right thing to do.
Imagine him giving her advice, more calm, the all-consuming rage gone now. I wouldn’t mind if it’s then, and only then, that they may develop feelings towards eachother. A love that would never be complete (I’m a sucker for irony/tragedy) because it couldn’t flourish when he was alive, but now is also too late. Somehow they take down the Dark Side together. Never again Jedis are needed, or Siths raise again. Ren bid farewell to Rey, and he vanishes breaking her heart. True story ending.
Unfortunately, what they brought us was a kid with anarchist ideals and zero self-control leading an army with no military education known so far (because c’mon. We are Sith. Aint nobody got time for that.) that seems to plan to destroy the entire galaxy for the sake of it and no particular reason beyond “all old must die”. I don’t expect a lot of ren/hux interactions but even if they are few if the tone is more serious/mature/professional i would be happy. My inspiration could work with that, but if they keep the tone of TLJ it’s a turn off for me.
And here I finish my essay, Anon. I hope you enjoyed. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and expect Adams to deliver the ending this saga deserves. And if he doesn’t well, this HC will always be here for me and everyone willing to read it. Kisses and kittens for u ^^.
PD: PLEASE SEND ME A LINK TO THAT COMIC. I NEED TO SEE IT 0.0

Logically I understand why the workbook and so much other advice talks about having a support group/trusted people. I get how that would be beneficial.
But from where I am, it feels like a cruel cosmic plot twist. Some "only that which has hurt you can heal you" bullshit. What the actual fuck!? In order to heal from a lifetime of trauma at the hands of so many different people, I have to learn how to deeply trust people?
It's so unfair, so epically and ridiculously unfair. And when I expressed my frustrations to my therapist all she could do was agree that it's an incredibly hard and unfair thing to ask of me. And that's it. Not but, just an acknowledgement.
I feel so bitter and defeated.
