malleus first notices these odd tendencies you were yet to display in your first meetings ; slurred speech, red eyes, constant yawning. although he may be a fae prince, malleus is no stranger to clear signs of exhaustion. having witnessed it many times growing up around silver. although he will not explicitly call you out on such matters, he is not one to let his dearest child of man suffer. lilia has sebek observe you, only managing the act of convincing him by claiming that it would bring malleus great pleasure to see the ramshackle prefect in good health, malleus begins to give you things to assist with sleeping. ofcourse, lilia had to advise him in that department.

noise cancelling headphones, a weighted blanket, literally the softest pillows and plushies in all of twisted wonderland, full on offers to repair ramshackle just so you could sleep in peace?? honestly bae if ur still sleep deprived after allat i dont know how to help. all in all, malleus is trying. it brings him joy to see you in good spirits, afterall, you are the only one who has given him a chance. the only one to not fear him.

time flies, i always miss you — epel felmier

epel's had to endure a strict no-exceptions sleeping schedule for practically most of his life. between helping out with his grandmother's harvest and pomefiore, there really was never any room for sleep deprivation. that being said, epel probably learnt a number of techniques from granny felmier. back when he was young epel never really thought theyd be that useful. however now? those stray thoughts might as well be forgotten now that he gets to use these techniques on you.

epel would never admit it, however, he cant help but feel a new sensation in his heart taking care of you. even if it took alot of convincing vil to allow you to sleep in pomefiore, epel absolutely adores the time he gets to spend with you late into the night. pillow talk while the two of you are half asleep, likely not even making proper sentences despite those half hours being the most meaningful conversations the two of you will have.

to be yuu and the upperclassman you're madly, desperately in love with sees you the same way he sees the weird fanboy he tolerates bc their cycles sync up. BUT THEN this quirked up farmboy slides in to validate all your feelings and let you vent about how weird pomefiore is (he gets it) and he sweeps you off your feet with his apples and charming vocabulary of swears. steals you right under everyone's noses. this would be the biggest epel flex I think

THIS THISSS. this is canon too right?? I remember reading somewhere that he has a hard time gauging what yuu is thinking. it just adds such an interesting layer to their dynamic bc cater relies so much on anticipating people's thoughts and feelings. it's what he bases his entire persona around

Epel wants to wear ~cologne~ because that's what guys do when they want to smell nice. The problem is that Yuu hates those smells. They think guys who wear colonge must have a damaged sense of smell because how can anyone stand it? So Epel worries he's going to have to resort to using perfume. Yuu had less of a problem with those, but still thinks the smells can be really strong. So Epel has to decide whether to keep smelling the same and "risk the prefect not noticing him" or run some options by Jack since he also has a sensitive nose.

rook has this point of contention with vil about this exact thing. he doesn't like smelling like perfume. or anything. because it gives him away when he's hunting. he gets around it somehow, of course, because he's rook. rook will be dousing epel in pine needles and woodsmoke for a less abrasive, more natural smell. masculine, pleasant, AND tolerable

leona has the same effect but by making him run laps until he's covered in sweat. prefect'll definitely notice him now LOL

I know we're on the epelyuu arc but having the new EN event in mind i beg of you to consider:

this is making me think. have I really never written a vilyuu fic where he sits on their lap...?? I'll need to fix that soon

Vil fixes Yuu's uniform and gets it to be their right size so it won't stay sloppy on them.

EpelYuu!

Yuu is borrowing Epel's clothes because it's the most fitting to their size. Also, Epel gives Yuu some of his winter clothes so they won't be cold in winter, given the lack of clothes they have at Ramshackle dorm.

RookYuu!

Yuu tries Rook's hat but it's just slip on their eyes also Rook picking Yuu up to get a book from high shelves although he could just get them the book himself but it's more fun like that.

Don't know if it's quite EpelYuu, but I'm betting Epel would be one of those people who try to fight other people with fireworks. There's these sword fireworks you can get, and I can just imagine him and Yuu dueling with them and almost blowing each other up in the process

Yuu who loves cooking. They don't have recipes from back home but the ingredients they can find are mostly the same. They always invite Epel to taste test them. Part of their reason is because they want to see if they can get Epel to associate their food with home (them).

They already think of Epel in every apple related thing they find, it makes sense to try to return the favor to some degree. Make him think of them too.

additional thought: potato-lover yuu x apple-lover epel... savory and sweet... cooking and baking... pomme de terre and pomme... epel giving them apple desserts/juices/etc to taste and yuu giving him potato dishes to taste

Epelyuu seems really cute to me because I can see Yuu coming from a much simpler family so I think folks like Epel could really connect with them really easy with simpler values than with other folks like Vil

on that same note shout out ruggieyuu for also being a fav of mine

but yeah!

I think a good part of the reason that yuu is so close to the first years (sebek exempt, for now) besides being a first year themself is because they're most similar. kinda silly, kinda goofy, kinda unimportant, down on luck, at the bottom of the pecking order, and not very bright. so I think yuu does tend to gravitate towards similar people (˵ •̀ ᴗ •́ ˵ ) ✧

I think Southern Yuu and Epel would just be such a great dynamic. Yuu meets someone who reminds them of home, and Epel meets someone who can relate to his background. I feel like they would just chat in depth about their hometowns, comparing them. Like staple crops, with Harveston's being apples. Also the sense of community from growing up in that kind of setting.

Yuu visits Harveston for the sled event, and they just feel so homesick. Just like Epel feels similar, so does Harveston. The only thing that feels out of place is that Yuu's freezing. Snow was just a fantasy back home. They would get along so well with Marja too. They meet, and it just clicks. Suddenly Marja is treating Yuu like her own, sharing recipes and telling stories. Meanwhile, Epel can't help but notice how at home Yuu is.

this,,, I was raised in a farming community and epel really speaks to me in that way. I get what he feels being displaced and lonely amongst higher class people (I feel that with my mom's family, and when we moved to a suburb when I was,,, 8?)

but yea. omg epelyuu bonding,,
