Adorned and admired , we continue to share our wisdom , and with this our history of old for our future. Mahalo #Borrowaloha #knowwhoyouare #eolakaʻōlelohawaiʻi Mana’o @hawaiianhistory Hauʻoli Lā Hānau e Keʻelikōlani! “On this day of February 9th in 1826, Princess Ruth Ke'elikōlani Keanolani Kanāhoahoa was born. As an heir of the House of Kamehameha, she became one of the biggest landholders in Hawaiʻi. These lands would later become the Bishop Estate. Princess Ke'elikōlani was a strong advocate of the Hawaiian language, traditions and culture during a time of great change in Hawaiʻi. She conducted all business as well as correspondence in Hawaiian, refusing to speak English although she was well-educated and able to speak English. She also refused to convert to Christianity. Instead of living a life of luxury as one would imagine a princess would, Keʻelikōlani chose to live in her Hawaiian hale on the grounds of Huliheʻe Palace. One story which illustrates her character was in her intercession during the 1881 eruption of Mauna Loa which threatened the city of Hilo. Beseeched by her people, Ke'elikōlani kneeled at the foot of the flowing lava and laid her red scarf before the flow. It is said that her prayers and offerings to the Goddess Pele saved the city. Let us celebrate her legacy today and honor her for her contributions!” Sharnelle & Marleah (at Hanapepe, Hawaii)

#repost… @kahookahi being escorted out for refusing to speak English. If the state is going to say that ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi is an “official language of Hawaii” then they need to honor that. E ola mau ka ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi ✊🏼

Spectrum just took over Time Warner Oceanic in Hawai’i and in transition on collecting or keeping customers. There’s other stations . The frequency waves of communication also works in other avenues. Lots of us watch online...but if this is suppression - history and truth will prevail. #lovegrenade 🌱💚#eolakaʻōlelohawaiʻi #hawaiianlanguage to read or watch more about Hawai’i issues @staradvfeatures @oiwitv #hawaii #thingsabouthawaii #contemporary (at Hawaii)

Please Support Hawaiian Language. It’ll take you one minute. We’ve had the pleasure to live , work and play alongside our cousins of Moloka’i and Kaua’i , within the years @alohaalliance an international cultural exchange and live-abroad homeschool, #kanaka homeschool and @kanakapcs have provided the idea that Hawaiian culture, if implemented for the survival of Polynesian Hawaiian variated tools and intellect in the modern contemporary Locales ; we all should also include our Niihauan language and costumes , and provide a format of understanding to those secluded to the practices in all 3 languages and society. One thrives in communication, and with this conception, the context matters for the social studies, historical Hawai’i and global sharing of the true information that has travel bugs inquisitive to know #wherearethehawaiians? . With the flood of requests, and flood rains with disrupted detours of auwai water ways made up of tar and cement, our electronic libraries also give access to our mother tongue. Kumu @_kaleolani_ has responded to #sharealoha #eolakaʻōlelohawaiʻi #challenge “ e ʻola ka ʻolelo makuahine ʻo kō kākou one hānau” (at Marine Education Training Center (METC))
