Le cinque stagioni, sceneggiato natalizio della Rai

Alla fine del 1976 la Rai, per il periodo del Natale, trasmise lo sceneggiato in quattro puntate, diretto da Gianni Amico, che ne fu anche lo sceneggiatore con Enzo Ungari e Arnaldo Bagnasco, Le cinque stagioni. Nella storia,  ambientata in un ospizio, sono cinque sono le stagioni meteorologiche narrate, inverno, con una lunga descrizione delle giornate che gli anziani ospiti trascorrono nell’ospizio, c’è poi la primavera che racconta la gioia, l’energia, la vitalità ritrovate nel momento stesso in cui uno di loro ha l’idea di partecipare a un concorso per il più bel presepe, l’estate è invece la fatica che costa la costruzione del presepe, con debolezze e scoramenti da parte degli anziani, poi l’autunno e ancora l’inverno con il gran finale della notte di Natale e la conclusione delle storie private che si sono sviluppate parallelamente alla costruzione del presepe, con attori come Tino Carraro, Gianni Santuccio, Tino Scotti, Elsa Merlini, Carlo Romano e Tiberio Murgia. Gianni Amico, nato a Loano il  27 dicembre 1933, nel 1960 ideò con il padre gesuita Angelo Arpa la Rassegna Internazionale del Cinema Latinoamericano di Santa Margherita Ligure, che ospitò i maggiori esponenti del cinema sudamericano, come Glauber Rocha, Fernando Birri, Nelson Pereira dos Santos, Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, oltre a segnare la fine dell'isolamento diplomatico di Cuba ospitandone le autorità. In seguito Amico si trasferì a Roma, dove continuò a lavorare come organizzatore culturale per la Mostra Internazionale del Cinema Libero di Porretta Terme, ideando nel 1964 una sezione dedicata alla Nouvelle vague,  e con la Mostra Internazionale del Nuovo Cinema di Pesaro, di cui fu membro della commissione di selezione nel 1966 e nel 1967. Partecipò alla produzione di Era notte a Roma di Roberto Rossellini e nel 1964 scrisse, assieme a Bernardo Bertolucci,  la sceneggiatura di Prima della rivoluzione. Alla fine degli anni Sessanta Amico fece una serie di viaggi in Brasile, dove girò per la Rai i documentari Giovani brasiliani e Ah! Vem o samba, collaborò alla sceneggiatura di Partner per Bertolucci e di Il leone a sette teste per Glauber Rocha, oltre ad essere l’aiutoregista di Jean-Luc Godard in Vento dell'est. Negli anni Settanta lavorò a fiction e sceneggiati per la Rai, come Lo specchio rovesciato. Un'esperienza di autogestione operaia, Your Love is like the Sea, L'inchiesta, Ritorno , Le affinità elettive e Giovani, donne, fabbrica. summary: you convince the slytherin squad to take a trip to disney with you over the summer break

warnings: mostly platonic, but you could date whomever you like, swearing possibly, pure fluff tbh 

a/n: loosely based off my trip to disney this past summer because im in my disney feels :)

you did not think that they were going to agree to go with you, because partaking in muggle activities was not on their radar 

but they did

it took little to no convincing (the power point you made wasn’t even needed)

there were six of you going: you, daphne, pansy, theo, draco, and blaise

their parents paid for the hotel and park tickets (including yours) but you bought your own plane ticket

you stayed at the grand floridian because “we’re rich and that’s where rich people stay” -pansy

but you also stayed there because they wanted to make it special for you

yes blaise does not care about disney at all, and draco hates the heat, daphne doesn’t like roller coasters, theo doesn’t trust muggle transportation methods, and the humidity makes pansy’s hair frizz but it's obvious that you were excited about the trip so they had to make is special

you plan a five day trip: one day at epcot, two at magic kingdom and one at hollywood studios

they have no clue what they are getting into, until you call a team meeting and handed out complete itineraries

“why are we going to a park on the first day?” -theo, “because i said so” -you

the day of the departure you are bouncing with excitement

once the plane lands, you practically run to the magical express line 

daphne definitely thought they lost you, and draco was lowkey panicking because “where did they go?”  

thankfully theo was with you the whole time, matching your chaotic energy

the second you get to the hotel, draco and daphne (aka the responsible ones) check you guys in and drop off the suitcases. 

then you are off on the monorail to epcot

at epcot you go on every single ride, including the frozen ride twice because “elsa is hot af” -theo

“elsa lowkey looks like draco’s lost sister” -blaise, and everyone laughs at that

draco denies all accusations

you also participate in the drinking around the world trend and blaise somehow ends up getting y’all alcoholic drinks

“how did they not card you?” -you “i flirted with the girl running the stand” -blaise

you buy a pair of the remy ears and make some stranger take a group picture of you in front of the remy bush

for dinner you guys eat at one of the epcot restaurants, and they refuse to let you pay

especially theo (because he’s a gentleman at heart) 

after dinner you go on more rides and then head back to the hotel

at magic kingdom it's extra fun

you guys take a bunch of pictures in front of the castle and they are all lowkey impressed because “muggles did this?” 

you take them on all your favorite rides

in all of the lines theo and blaise find new girls to flirt with

they make you take subtle pics of them to show enzo and mattheo what they’re missing out on

of course blaise and theo take pics when you find someone attractive

draco acts miserable but he’s actually so happy that you’re happy

in the gift shop you found some sparkly green mickey ears and buy them for him

“i thought you’d like them, slytherin colors and all” 

he wears them the rest of the trip

of course you, pansy, and daphne all get matching ears too 

theo buys the mulan ears and never stops wearing them

blaise buys a generic pair of ears, (think sparkly but classic minnie ones) 

you post an instagram picture of all of you in your ears

speaking of insta, all the pictures from this trip are top tier

especially the ones from the rides

on those you guys do funny poses

your splash mountain picture is so iconic

you all watch the fireworks and their eyes light up

because it’s amazing and tinkerbell is there

how can you not like the magic kingdom fireworks?

they also see a bunch of the characters

theo and blaise flirt with the princesses

you and daphne stay neutral and flirt with everyone

draco pretends not to care but his eyes lit up when rapunzel compliments his mickey ears one day

the day at hollywood studios was so fun

you guys rode the new rise of resistance ride and explored all of star wars land

theo, draco, and blaise ate up being the rebel captives

“who even are you?” “yeah what is this place?” (part of it was acting and part was their genuine confusion)

of course none of them knew anything about star wars, but they still appreciated it

toy story land was an experience 

“why is that cowgirl so big?” -draco, “she’s kinda hot” -theo & daphne

you rode with blaise on toy story mania and he got absolutely demolished

“sorry maybe you’ll do better next time”

“y/n what was your score?” “109,876. what was yours?” “nowhere near that.” 

you and theo were the only ones who went on tower of terror

he was so scared, but made you promise not to tell anyone

you all made lightsabers and then proceeded to take super cool pictures with them on your hotel room balcony

at night obviously

speaking of the hotel

you all went night swimming at the pool

some little kids ended up hanging off of blaise and theo the whole time

it was really cute

draco somehow got roped into a mermaids game with two ten year old twins

you, daphne and pansy were just chilling in the pool, but eventually all six of you were playing mermaids with these twin girls and the random kids from theo and blaise’s earlier encounter

on the last day everyone was sad to leave especially you

but then draco was like “so when are we coming back?”

and pansy was like “christmas?”

and everyone agreed

and your eyes lit up in surprise

so now you guys are planning another disney trip :)

“next time we have to bring enzo and mattheo though because they really missed out” 

so now there will be eight of you going on a christmas disney excursion

Digging through the archives 1: The ReBoot drama

Hello and welcome to one of the first “subsections” of posts I am going to make on this tumblr for the sake of an easier overview. This one is titlted “Digging through the archives”, because it will always relate to something I will find by literally looking for some of the oldest “opinion” or personal related stuff about Dobson that there is. So think of this here less as me tackling his comics and more of my own version of what the Hypocrisy of Andrew Dobson does.

With that explanation out of the way, lets just briefly talk about Dobson and his idea of fan entitlement; If you have followed Dobson throughout the last year or so, you know he has a very low opinion on fans of the original She-Ra and He-Man, 80s cartoons in general and Star Wars, to the point he thinks the people behind it are all potential alt righters (link red flag comic) or basically man children.

 To anyone who knows Dobson however, it would be no surprise now to learn that he has a tendency to be the same kind of way to other people and creators. Like when he whined to an actual writer on a Frozen related property about the necessity of giving Elsa a girlfriend, which even resulted in Aaron Sparrow being involved at one point, a professional animator and comic writer on the Boom Comics related Darkwing Duck issues. A prime example on how Dobson will literally make himself also unsympathetic to the people he wants to work for/with.

 But then there is what I found in relation to a little animated series by the name of ReBoot and that is really where both his entitlement and egotism kinda shine.

For those unaware: ReBoot was a computer animated adventure show produced by Mainframe Entertainment and ran from 1994 to 2001. It is actually listed as the first fully computer animated cartoon out there and is fondly remembered by a lot of people. Unfortunately, I myself have never watched it so I can’t give a “valid” opinion on it. All I have seen so far are clips on youtube but I will admit that what I have seen in them looks fun and intriguing, even if the animation at parts (especially in season 1 related content) has not aged that well. But hey, early computer animation, that is forgivable. And any media that manages to make an episode that is also in a way a huge tribute to Evil Dead of all things in a children cartoon is a big win for me.

Now, how is ReBoot connected to Dobson? Dobson has been a fan of ReBoot, a fact he made publicly known when in 2007 rumors of a continuation of ReBoot emerged. Something Dobson, again, the man who is pissed about the entitlement of She-Ra fans, has not been very happy about.

But Dobson, what is so wrong about being “different” from the past? After all, let the past die! The original show had terrible artwork! And not everything back in the day was good, right?

 Yeah, it is pretty obvious how his complaining and stands against “modern” fans ring pretty hollow when he himself acted as the entitled brat he thinks critics of new She-Ra and Thundercats Roar are, back in 2007 already. Also I honestly feel that at the very least the creators of that idea gave their fans still more “control” than Rian Johnson did. And we all know how much Star Wars suffered in terms of reputation because of it.

BTW, this webcomic continuation mentioned? It is actually not just a rumor that went nowhere, but one of the most fascinating aspects I found when reading up on ReBoot via Wikipedia. The idea was that of the five potential pitches (so again, there was variety given that even could have been expanded on) people could choose one that would be further adapted. Additionally the people behind the idea were looking for more active input by fans, giving people the chance to apply as artists working on it if they decided to submit samples people could vote on. Something Dobson jumped actually on. And tried to manipulate in his own favor

 The thing that catches my attention at first is how hyperbole Dobson is. Claiming the fate of the show is in their hands and treating voting on this thing like it’s a live or die situation, with pointlessly writing stuff in caps as if we are reading the headline of some trashy newspaper article. It just comes off less as someone who is a fan and more of a fanatic of the show. Second, I just find it hilarious that of all the plattforms online Dobson decided to post that “VERY IMPORTANT” information people should act immediately on, was deviantart. Did he genuinely expect people would flock to what he wrote in order to immediately do something about the vote? Deviantart even back then was mostly for posting fanart, few people read journals and even less people cared for ReBoot. I don’t know if the /co/ board of 4chan existed back in 2007 already, but he would have had more success posting on there and get the information out, than on dA.

 Lastly, the shameless self promotion. Stating he does not care which pitch wins, when only three day prior he whined how they all suck and he wishes the show would be done justice by someone. That someone obviously being him, the person who is so hardcore as a fan, because he already waited 8 years just to watch season 3. Damned be any other artists or pitches that may be better or more popular than him, HE is the true messiah and that is his chance to shine. So don’t be “neutral” and judge fairly based on actual competence, talent and effort, just vote for him blindly or else Trump wins the second term and your beautiful nation turns into the fourth rei- I mean,  Dobson will be a very sad guy who has come to terms with the fact he is not talented enough to work on a reboot/continuation of his favorite children show.

Well, it seemed to have had some impact though, as four day later he posted this

 And obviously Dobson is pissed his favorite pitch did not win and instead of being grateful for the good ratings some of his artwork got he focuses instead on the fact that his Enzo and Megabyte pic had the lowest rating. Which in my opinion it kinda deserved. I mean, look at those artpieces:

Enzo is okayish looking but the rest? That is not Megabyte and a genuine background, it is a cola light version of the entire Ripley disaster with the Samus Artwork commission. Also, Enzo’s hands just look weird. His fingers more alien than they need to be and the position of his legs not really adjusting to how the hip is supposed to move. The comic sample page that Dobson drew being okay overall, aside of the fact that Enzo in one panel HAS FOUR INSTEAD OF FIVE FINGERS ON ONE HAND DESPITE HAVING FIVE FINGERS IN A PREVIOUS PANEL. I am also not really a fan of how Dobson puts emphasize on the word “FAN” and “PAGES” in the post, indicating he thinks he is a better and bigger fan than any of the people who submitted their entries too, off handedly praising them but also making it obvious he thinks he is the most fit for the job, because he can also “copy any artstyle” and adjust to the needs of his superiors. Yeah, sure. That’s why you are nowadays and with even more time and effort put into your work so “good” at imitating Ladybug, your comics look exactly like in the show…

 Now considering that Dobson does not have ReBoot under his resume and likely tried his best to bury any enthusiasm for it, you can imagine how this chance at being an official artist ended up.

 Not even much of a follow up or introspective in why he may have not won. His enthusiasm died within two days.

And honestly, I am surprised that as a result he did not fake depression and rage quit doing comics for a month or so as he did here and there.

And that is pretty much the end of the ReBoot drama, at least as far as I know.

If you are interested what happened with the comic project, here is what I managed to gather:

The project did actually not die in development, but “ReBoot: Arrival” would be reimagined under the name “Code of Honour” and be published online in three “issues” over the course of the next few months. The comic’s status as “canon” continuation of the show is however very much in the air, as quite a lot of people think it is something of a fanfiction, others think it is a good enough continuation that unfortunately still does not deliver on an “ultimate” ending of the franchise. That said, with additional plans like a movie trilogy never been realized and the “reboot” known as “ReBoot: The Guardian Code” having been perceived as an insult by fans and a disappointment by most audiences (which Dobson was surprisingly silent about) this comic seems to be the best thing fans can still hope for and read.

Yeah, I am not even kidding. The comic is still up. Here, have two links to independent pages if you want to either read it for the first time or revisit it for the sake of nostalgia.

As for Dobson, if he reads this, I just have one thing to say to you: Don’t you ever again try to whine about how entitled fanboys are, if you felt entitled enough yourself you tried to manipulate a competition in your own favor in the hope to become a writer and then exploit ReBoot for your own agenda and benefit.

By rights Giallo should be called Marrone. As in brown, as in crap. I’m not saying it reflects poorly on Dario Argento’ skills in 2009 but…but you could have an art installation in the Tate Modern with one screen playing Deep Red (1975) next to a screen playing Giallo and just call it “Time’s Cruel Hand at Play”. Okay, I am saying Giallo reflects poorly on Dario Argento’s skills in 2009. What is most surprising about Giallo is not learning Adrien Brody sued the producers but learning that he didn’t do so because the movie was so bad. (He actually did it because they hadn’t paid him all his fee; which is also a really good reason to sue them.) Giallo is a giallo called Giallo, directed by the modern master of giallo himself, Dario Argento. And it’s not very good. Some of Giallo is excruciatingly bad in fact, admittedly like much of the wayward genre of giallo itself. But one expects better from Dario Argento.

In a listlessly lit but still visually arresting Turin young, beautiful foreign ladies are being abducted, tortured, killed and dumped. Even in bawdy Italy this behaviour is frowned upon, and maverick, rogue, loose-cannon cop Enzo Avolfi (Adrien Brody) is on the hunt for the maniacally sadistic killer. When young, beautiful, foreign model Celine (Elsa Pataky) is snatched, her visiting slightly older, slightly less beautiful, equally foreign sister, Linda (Emmanuelle Seigner) badgers Enzo remorselessly until he has no choice but to have her accompany him on his investigation, completely contravening every procedure in the police manual.  But Enzo is a roguetastic maverick, so there you go. Can the mismatched duo find Celine in time? Will love blossom? Will the torture of young, beautiful, foreign ladies make you feel a bit seedy? Will sense play second fiddle to style? Will the killer’s set piece demise be a thing of ridiculous beauty? How daft will the clues be? Yes, the usual giallo questions apply. Unfortunately the answers are less satisfying than most giallo by quite some distance.

Which is a shame. I don’t want to overstate this but if we can’t rely on Dario Argento, of all people, to provide a decent giallo then what’s the point of us having left the oceans for the land in the first place! Anyone, as am I, familiar with Argento’s movies up to Opera (1987) will likely be unimpressed at best by Giallo. (Getting hold of his movies after Opera in the UK requires effort, effort which I’m not entirely sure their quality will repay. See: Giallo) The awfulness of Giallo is utterly mystifying unless 1987 to 2009 was a period of implacable decline for Argento. I mean, it doesn’t even look very good. The first thing anyone associates with Dario Argento is his weird need to film his daughter in the nude, but the second thing is: style. Giallo, the genre, is all about style, unfortunately Giallo, the movie, has very little style. It has some style; Argento can’t entirely avoid picking the odd good angle, or visually interesting location. But mostly it’s lit in a really underwhelming way, it all looks a bit TV, in short. And the torture is a bit much too; it’s as though Argento has taken all that sado-nonsense like Hostel (2005) as a challenge. Unfortunately, it’s a challenge Giallo lowers itself to with unseemly haste and distasteful success. These grubby interludes puncture any of the necessary dreamlike surrealism a top tier giallo requires.

Every now and again Giallo does try for the necessary operatic ambience though. Mainly in the flashbacks  to Enzo’s violent past. These are so good, so stylish and so startlingly direct in their violence that they seem like refugees from a different movie, one Argento is far more interested in. He certainly seems decidedly more apathetic about the rest of Giallo. It all, presumably, is intended to build to a shocking climax between Enzo and Linda which deliberately kneecaps any nobility the viewer has lazily projected onto our cop protagonist. Unfortunately this crucial scene is filmed with such a lack of energy that it merely evokes a disgruntled wife shrieking at her husband as he stalks off to the pub instead of washing the car like he’d promised. 

The best thing in Giallo is Adrien Brody. But not because he’s good. Although, he is quite good as the cop, Enzo Avolfi, with his mannered walk and Bronx rasp. Brody’s acting really hard here, and in his head you can tell he’s acting the part of a physically much bigger man, which is quite entertaining to watch. He’s only a slight fella after all. (!!SPOILERS!!) Unfortunately he also plays the totally separate role of the killer, Giallo by name, in a move which can be most generously described as misguided. I mean, I get it, I get the rationale. They, the cop and the killer, are two sides of the same coin. (I didn’t say it was original). So why not get the same guy to play them both? Conceptually that’s quite smart and partially atones for another plod through familiar “There but for the grace of God…” territory. But, hoo boy, does Brody misplay Giallo. I mean, woof! I mean, woof! Woof! First of all he’s hampered by a big yellow prosthetic face, a curly wig and a poorly judged sweatband. That, obviously, isn’t ridiculous enough so Brody adds a cod-Italian accent more suited to a lightly racist 1970s sit-com about foreign students learning English. “Prreeeteee! Bee-yoo-ti-fowl! Pretteee!” he chirrups repeatedly, but the nadir is when he hisses “Shuduppayamawf!” as he injects a struggling woman’s tongue with a sedative. Essentially Giallo disembowels itself by having a killer who resembles a melting Sylvester Stallone waxwork and talks like a homicidal comedy Italian waiter. 

So, yes, Giallo is entertaining but for all the wrong reasons. I’ve barely scratched the surface of the misfires in wait, I wouldn’t want to kill all the pleasure of Giallo. But I will mention that Emmanuelle Seigner acts throughout the movie as though someone has told her that if she moves her face it will crack into a thousand pieces. Oh, and…but, no, enough. Trust me, Giallo isn’t a good movie, it isn’t even a good giallo. From Dario Argento that’s a shame, but, hey, we’ll always have Deep Red.

First ship you ever read fic for: 97% sure it was Captain Swan (OUAT), but a few Ten x Rose (Doctor Who) fics crossed my dash in the early days of my blogging so I may have checked out one of those first. (I didn’t read fic until I joined tumblr.)

First ship you ever wrote fic for: Captain Swan, though the first I posted was for Sherlolly.

Ship you write the most now: So I haven’t written in quite a long while, but the ship I primarily wrote for was Captain Swan. They’re just the ship I’m most comfortable both writing for and reading.

Ship you read the most now: I’m very behind on fics I’ve been meaning to check out lately, but I mostly read Captain Swan.

Newest ship: Peter and Elizabeth Burke (White Collar) (haven’t read fic for them though; not sure if there is any but idk if I’d dive into that anyway)

Rare ship you want to read more of: Megstiel (Supernatural); idk if that’s particularly “rare” but it isn’t the most popular SPN ship, and there are fics I definitely need to read at some point.

Your taboo ship: Does this mean a ship I nope at, or a ship I ship but shouldn’t? I’m guessing a ship I nope at based on your answer for this, so I’ll go with a certain ridiculously popular Supernatural ship and three certain abusive OUAT ships.

They never met in canon ship: So I don’t have a hardcore ship for this, but there’s some OUAT ships like Frozen Jewel and Liam x Belle (I don’t think they met...) that I’ve seen in CS fics and I think they’re kind of cute.

Oh! Also Elsa (Frozen) and Jack Frost (Rise of the Guardians) at least used to be a thing I saw around a lot, and I thought that was a pretty interesting pairing, though I never dug into it very deeply.

Your unexpected ship: Bonnie x Damon, Bonnie x Enzo, and Klaroline (TVD/The Originals); so a whole lot went down and I recognize that these pairings really shouldn’t ever be together because of it imo, but the first I started shipping when they were in the prison world together (PANCAKES), the second I still have no idea how they got from point A to point B in canon but it grew on me despite my total confusion, and the third when they’re on screen together all smiley I forget for a moment why I try not to ship it.

The ship you always forget to give love to: I don’t forget to give love in general to my ships from 24, but they’re not on my blog very often because they barely cross my dash and I usually don’t find what I’m looking for when I try to search for them.

Ship your OC with a canon character (if applicable): I don’t have any OCs.

A ship you’re embarrassed to ship: lol not really embarrassed but I nag myself for most of my TVD/Originals ships just because I feel like they shouldn’t really be together, but then when they’re on screen literally everyone who’s not related to each other looks like they’re going to kiss in pretty much every scene and it’s hard not to ship them sometimes.

Your most romantic ship: Captain Swan, partly influenced by all the fic consumption, but I’d also say the Burkes and Charah (Chuck).

Your sexiest ship: *cough* Captain Swan with all their pancakes and coffee. ;)

Your most tragic ship: literally any ship from 24, like seriously spoilers but be prepared for one half to die no matter who you ship; I’d also definitely say Megstiel, Charah in a way or maybe that’s bittersweet, and Aidan x Sally (Being Human US) which is also kiiiiiind of bittersweet but tragic too.

Meet the Writer Tag (#3)

1. Who’s your favorite OC you’ve made?

This is such a hard question right off the bat! It's really so hard to say. In my current WIP, each of the main characters has something different that I really admire. Hale is a truly, genuinely kind person and a hard worker. Ultimate knight in dented armor, and there's something about that that really appeals to me.

2. Do you have a specific routine for writing?

Not really. I'm pretty busy with school most of the time, so whenever I can grab a few minutes to write and literally anything to write on, I just get to work.

3. How long have you been working on your current wip?

Oh, gee. Forever, it feels like. I think really I started in earnest about three years ago? But then it stalled out for a long time, and I reworked it two years ago. Then recently I started reworking (upgrading) it again. I'm really focusing on clarifying the project's direction and outlining as much as possible. (It'll be my first outline - fingers crossed!!)

4. Do you associate any songs with your OCs?

Oh I wish I were clever enough to say yes! I think if my story took place in a more modern setting it would be easier.

5. Would your wip work better as a movie or a full tv series?

I think it could work as a series of films.

6. What’s your favorite name that you’ve named an OC (or will use someday)?

I looooove naming my OCs. (I say that, but when I'm actually naming them I think I might hate it a little.) Enzo Morant is one that I've liked recently. Oliver Blake and Felicity Travers are a couple I enjoy. Camlann, as a fantasy name. The queen in my WIP is named Thirza, which I think fits her very well.

7. What’s your biggest self-insert character and how are they similar to you?

Called out! ^-^ As far as my current WIP goes, Rys shares a lot of my perspectives or has a lot of concerns that I've felt. She definitely experiences them more extremely than I do and it goes off a different lane.

8. If your OCs were in the Harry Potter universe, what houses would they be in? (and maybe if you’re a big hp fan, what would their favorite classes be?)

I, uh... I don't know anything about this!

9. What’s your favorite line you’ve written in your wip so far?

This hasn't come up in the draft yet, but I came up with it recently and I like it quite a lot. It's part of an exchange that happens between a main character and one of the antagonists.

“I can grant you what you need -,” Vidri’s voice suddenly echoed through her mind, “Absolution.”

“In oblivion.”

10. If your OC was a Disney princess (or prince, but like, come on are they really that memorable?) which would they be?

Aldrich would be Prince Naveen, no doubt about it. Tbh, Hale might most accurately be Tiana. Neja might be Moana, and Rys has some similarities to Elsa and Mulan!

Okay, here’s the thing, I think Damon’s been over Elena for a long time. It might just be my Bamon shipper heart reading too much into little things but let me explain how I see things. I think in the last episode we got Damon realising and finally admitting to himself that he loves Bonnie more than anything.

First of all, the look on Damon’s face when Caroline mentioned Elena. It just didn’t look right, not the kind of look one would give when someone mentions the so-called “love of their life”. It felt like Damon wanted to stop and tell her something, that what she had just said wasn’t entirely right but then he let it go.

Then we have the epic battle between Cade and Bonnie for Damon’s soul. Like, the way Bonnie fought for him, she just didn’t want to let him go and Damon was just so shocked. When she said that she would fight he just looked like he couldn’t believe she would do something like this for him. This scene for me was really a way to show both’s love for each other. And the look. The look he gave her when he was hugging his brother. For me this was the point where he finally realised that he loved her and needed her. And Bonnie looking back at him, just smiling… guys, she looked so in love. Maybe she wasn’t even thinking about how much she loved him and that she could actually be in love, I don’t know how to explain this, she was just looking at him, relieved, and in love. (And little random thing, that scene, the hug between brothers and him looking at Bonnie, reminded me soooo much of Elsa and Anna’s hug at the end of Frozen where Anna then looks at Kristoff while hugging his sister. That kind of look just feels like something people in love would do).

And then, Damon being excited when Bonnie comes over. The whole scene had such a big meaning for me. Damon was smiling down at Elena, then he closed her coffin and turned around to welcome Bonnie with champagne. They were of course celebrating Cade’s death but it felt like he was celebrating something more. For me, the look he had when looking at Elena was him finally letting her go. They had their time, a relationship that belonged to the past. Of course he was also happy that she was still ‘alive’, both her and his brother, but it just felt so much like he was letting her go. And closing the coffin and turning to Bonnie, with the champagne, saying “Yes” almost in a whisper to himself, then him saying “You came!” in that way like he was afraid she wouldn’t come because he had something to celebrate for with her, it just felt like he was ready to finally move on with her.

The thing I actually wanted to say is that through all this season we always got Damon mentioning Elena and his love for her but for me it was like he was saying it because everyone was expecting him to say it. It was like he had to mention it because everyone knew he loved her and it had to be that way but this love just went away and he was afraid of admitting that he loved someone else instead, to everyone else and to himself. I’m not sure if this makes sense but it also adds to Damon not saying Elena’s name when telling Stefan about the girl he hopes to marry one day (and Bonnie not saying Enzo’s name when telling her grandma she’s in love with a vampire).

Again, I wasn’t hoping on Bamon becoming endgame anymore, I had lost all my hope, and I’m still a bit wary about it, but I got my hope back with this episode. I don’t want to deceive myself but the thing is, we got some pretty big hints and scenes and I know that it might just be my shipper heart hoping to see this ship finally sail and become canon, but I guess we just have to wait and see.

We still got a great character development from both Bonnie and Damon and we also have some great episodes and scenes so if it doesn’t end the way we hope, let’s remember what we have ♥

Bless whoever directed this tvd episode, I didn't like the whole Elsa in the letter thing but after waiting for like an eternity to know what the hell was in that letter I'm just a bit satisfied. And that bamon scene my heart couldn't take it, I smell the scent of warm vanilla and bourbon (the bamon smell) in the air. Hopefully we get bamon, amen. And hopefully Enzo dies.

What’s New at Walt Disney World in 2018?

Whether you’ve been taking a short break from Walt Disney World trips or whether you’ve been going faithfully every year, 2018 is going to be a great time to return to the World. There is so much new stuff, you will hardly recognize the place. Ok, not really, but still, A LOT OF NEW STUFF!!!

Magic Kingdom News

Main Street, U.S.A. is getting a new destination! Work has already begun on a live entertainment theater. Just as Main Street itself was inspired by Marceline, Missouri (Walt’s early childhood hometown), the new theater will be based on one from Kansas City (where Walt moved when he was nine years old). The Willis Wood Theater opened in 1902 in Kansas City, with a gleaming exterior of yellow brick and white terra cotta. Walt would no doubt have felt that, with the confectionery scrollwork curling from rooftop and corner balconies, the Willis Wood would fit in perfectly with the elegance of his own Main Street, U.S.A.

Disney promises to bring “world class entertainment” to Main Street, U.S.A. at this theater, akin to shows like “Frozen Live” at the Hyperion in Disney California Adventure. What Broadway-style show might the new theater host? With the film MARY POPPINS RETURNS coming in 2018, perhaps the new theater will feature this supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Disney favorite! What’s your guess??

Disney’s Hollywood Studios News

A new land is opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in summer 2018. No, it’s not Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge – not yet! You’ll have to wait until 2019 to travel to the galaxy far, far away. But much closer to home – right in Andy’s backyard, in fact – is Toy Story Land! If you were sad about the closure of the Honey I Shrunk the Kid Playground, here’s your chance to shrink again – this time to the size of a toy. Disney promises that you’ll experience the “Joy of Being a Toy.” Scattered around the land (Andy’s back yard) you’ll come across giant building blocks and game board pieces with many beloved Toy Story characters represented (either with character greetings or other homages).

Fans of Toy Story’s Slinky Dog will be delighted to discover that he will have his own roller coaster. Slinky Dog Dash is an attraction the whole family can enjoy together, with ride vehicles nestled cozily in Slinky Dog’s coils. The back story here is that Andy has built a toy roller coaster stretching all across his backyard using the bright red and yellow pieces of his Mega Coaster Play Kit, throwing in creative touches with his other toys (Jessie strides across the track and Dinosaur perches on top of a tower of blocks). In addition to the fun of the coaster and the movie elements, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of the new land from Slinky Dog Dash.

Right next door, you’ll find the Alien Swirling Saucers attraction – a life-sized toy play set that Andy won at Pizza Planet (seen in the original TOY STORY film). You’ll zoom along in a your rocket vehicle among toy planets and satellites while LGM (Little Green Men) flying above in flying saucers attempt to grab you with “The Claw.” To lighten the mood for younger guests, Disney has written some cool, electronic “Space Jazz” just for the Alien Swirling Saucers ride. And maybe you’ll be the lucky vehicle snagged by The Claw and hear the aliens intone their famous, “Oooooooo!”

Toy Story Midway Mania will be given a new entrance so it will be truly part and parcel of Toy Story Land. (The current entrance corridor, beyond the Pixar arch, will become a backstage area.) Starting this summer, you’ll enter the ride through a Midway Games set “box.” (Remember, you’re the size of a toy!)

Also in Toy Story Land, a counter service restaurant will resemble a giant Woody’s Roundup lunch box and thermos, while Scrabble pieces will spell out the restroom sign.

Opening day hasn’t been announced – but May 1, 2018, is the 29th anniversary of the opening of the park itself – so that might be a hint!

Epcot News

You’ll be able to enjoy the feeling that you’re shrinking at Epcot as well as at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when the France Pavilion debuts a Ratatouille themed ride. You’ll find that you’re the same size as Remy as you scurry across Gusteau’s legendary Parisian restaurant.

A new Frozen Ever After fireworks dessert party has begun at Epcot’s Norway pavilion. You can watch IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth with an unobstructed view along World Showcase Lagoon while nibbling an assortment of Frozen-themed sweet and savory treats. These are not your run-of-the-mill buffet desserts. The highlights include:

The Animal Kingdom park celebrates its 20th anniversary on April 22! Disney promises fun surprises to commemorate the date. Rumors include Photopass magic shots with new Na’vi elements in Pandora. Meanwhile, the Flights of Wonder show will be updated with Russell and Dug from the Disney Pixar film UP at the Caravan Theater in Anandapur Village in the Asia section of the park.

Eight (count ‘em!) brand new food and beverage locations will open at Disney Springs in 2018. The Edison opened in the first week of January. Disney calls it an “industrial Gothic-style destination for fine food and handcrafted cocktails.” A fictional back story sets the stage for the original historic Disney Springs power plant repurposed as a trendy restaurant. Terralina Crafted Italian (replacing Portobello Country Italian Trattoria) will open near Paddlefish in The Landing. Other new locations include Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante, Enzo’s Hideaway and Pizza Ponte, Wine Bar George, Jaleo on the West Side, and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill in Town Center.
