Fanfiction Idea

Kouen slowly falls in love with Hakuyuu, who he admires. Hakuyuu on the other hand isn’t sure what to do. He also falls in love with his younger cousin, but think it is weird, because he also remembers Kouen as a small child/baby. But at a certain point in their live, they decide to become a couple. They have to keep it a secret from everyone and both know that in the future they have to marry a woman and have children. Until then they want to be happy together and serve the empire.

… No ok this ship is basically a punch in the feelings because I can totally see Kouen looking up to Hakuyuu and even though probably Yuu wasn’t as open with Kouen as he was with Hakuren, he still had a lot of fun sparring with him and he taught him a lot of things and Kouen really considered Hakuyuu a mentor, but also a rival…

and god I cry so much when they make those fanarts where Kouen visitis Yuu’s grave and he talks about Hakuryuu and hakuei to him

Like, Sinbad no bouken and magi are two of my favourite manges and while my favourite character is Sinbad, I f*ckin' love Kouen. The guy is SO noble and so strategic with a brilliant mind, I can talk about him forever and YES, I ship him with Yuu too ! Not a lot of people do it , I mean, my circle of magi friends do but in general it is not a very popular ship in the fandom . Shame, because YuuEn ( or vice versa ) is sooo awesome , like imagine Yuu as the emperor and kouen as his right hand man and advisor. That's what kou deserved. Do you have pixiv? Japanese artists do some yuuen fan arts and it's a bit more than western ones.

I used to be a sinbad fan too but then when I laid my eyes on kouen, I know fr he's the man the myth the legend 😍🙈 kouen is the embodiment of ✨aura✨ I don't make the rules. And the final arc 😩✋ like this man has every right to be fan's favorite cuz he stay true and noble till the end 👹👹

And yeah, about shipping him with hakuyuu, I understand why not many people bat an eye at them cuz lmao they're still an incestuous ship (who cares anw since they're fictional and the kou family is kinda incestuous in many way cough arba's deeds cough).

I did look through pixiv but some old art got deleted so there's not many left, and since I only ship enyuu not yuuen, I have fewer choices to look at. There's are some fics tho and they're banger. Lemme recommend you this one if you're into reading about kouen being flustered around hakuyuu but still wants to be close to him at the same time. It has 5 parts (THEY KISS IN EVERY SINGLE ONE LESGOO!!) and no kidding when I say I giggle to this at 4am 🥹🫰💖
