Lucanus Cervus 🖤 Did you know stag beetle is the biggest european insect ? It has been associated with the symbolism of both stag and beetle: strenght, protection, resilience, transformation, resurrection. During History they were also associated with some pagan deities, both the Christ and the Devil, ghosts, shadow, death, melancholy, vanitas. As a child I was fascinated by them, so they also remind me of curiosity and love of that little strangeness which makes everything better 😁 This specimen has been found naturally deceased. I had a lot of work to make it whole and pretty again. I just wanted to show you this beautiful Lucanus Cervus I just finished ! 😄 I also glued back the destroyed one I showed you in stories a few days ago, it will be finished soon. Stag beetle is the largest coleoptera in Europe. It symbolizes a lot of things like strenght, persistence, protection and adaptability. But for me it also symbolizes the fascination I've always had for nature, and that little strangeness that makes something unique.
