It isn't what most people had had in mind when Phone Guy's "utility updates" had been announced-- himself included. He hardly seems qualified to assist the security guard when his only real safety feature is knowing how to call 911, but it hasn't gone unnoticed that he's the only animatronic on the premises capable of interacting with adults without hostility. As long as that remains the case, he's the only non-human that management trusts to correctly implement the criminal recognition system, and they've handed him off to Peyton for training in what to do if he does happen to see anything suspicious.

...could they have simply coded in the proper protocols for handling potential threats? Of course. But it has been deemed safer (and cheaper) to rely on human expertise over the same programming that's been going haywire in the other machines.

He's not entirely sure how to respond to Spencer's comment, so he doesn't. ...not one to stay silent for long, however, Phone Guy continues on as though the guard hadn't said anything at all.

"So, it looks like it's going to be you and me, huh? That's great!" As overly animated as ever, the animatronic flashes a cheerful thumbs-up.

"This will be a piece of cake!"

It's a little unsettling how Phone Guy stares at the guard as they prepare. ...or at least it would be, if he had any eyes. As he is now, he simply appears to be looming at their shoulder, waiting patiently for Peyton to start walking.

Right on queue, he falls into step behind them, matching their footfalls with an uncanny precision. He waits for them to start offering instruction. And waits. ...and waits. Finally, when it becomes apparent that the guard is in no rush to start filling his databanks with anything new, he decides that they might need a little prompting.

"Hello, hello!" The greeting isn't entirely appropriate, but it's the start of most of his dialogue trees. "Awaiting instruction!"

Unless-- is this it? Is this all he's supposed to do, just walk around? He already does that! He doesn't need any new protocols in order to use his walking programs.

...maybe he's just supposed to escort Mx. Peyton? Well that's no problem, either; he loves spending time with other members of the Fazbear family!

"Thank you for your dedication," he says cheerfully. "We know security isn't easy work, but you always come in with a smile!" Sort of. "Hard work like that doesn't go unnoticed here."

🎭The security guard's brow furrowed as they looked at Phone Guy. Their gaze staring at them, not quite sure what to make of them. Especially considering the fact that well... They were basically being told that the animatronic would basically be tasked with calling 911 should they end up hurt or worse... killed by someone or one of the other animatronics... With how they were acting up and everything. Wonderful.

A sigh left them as their head bowed slightly. Shaking their head, they moved to grab their stuff out of their locker. Pulling on their vest and cap, before giving the flashlight a check to make sure that it worked. That... was it. Since Management didn't want them to damage the animatronics, as if a baton or a gun would do anything. So they really were completely and utterly fucked... wonderful.

They didn't say anything as the info animatronic continued to talk as if they hadn't said anything; giving them a look as they flashed them a thumbs up. Their brow quirked slightly as their gaze flickered from their hand to their... head. Shaking their head, they shoved their free hand into their pocket and began to walk; expecting the other to follow so they could start their rounds.

Phone Guy never seems to get bored of Spencer, despite their conversations often being rather one-sided. He's been here since 2am (a good hour and a half), waving to and chattering with the other animatronics as they enter and exit the office. He's gotten mixed responses, but that hasn't deterred him in the least; it's unclear whether he's even registered their odd behavior.

But he's noticed Spencer's, at least.

"Say, why do you keep, uh, putting that mask head on?" he asks brightly, reaching out to take the Freddy head sitting on the desk so he can examine it more carefully. Spencer's been playing some sort of game with it, but he hasn't been able to figure out the rules.

"...oh, ew. This... doesn't look sanitary, Mx. Peyton. Should I go check the back for something cleaner?"

"Alright," he says, his voice still toneless. The Puppet didn't even try to lie, which is probably a testament to their idiocy. Maybe the rest of the roster is better off if they don't get with the program; they don't need someone like the Puppet slowing them down.

PG takes a moment to consider his options, but the proper course of action is already apparent; if the others thought it was necessary to physically attack the Puppet, and if the security 'bot is going to continue to run around causing trouble, it needs to be subdued and brought to P&S like any other malfunctioning machine. There's a small hitch in his processing when he realizes that he can't rely on his usual partner-- the Puppet themself-- to handle this threat, but that's fine. He's far from alone in this.

"Whoops!" pre-set emotion returns to his voice in the familiar verbal cue that signals the Puppet was right to expect trouble. Phone Guy would have preferred not to warn the other animatronic that he's sending out a call for help, but his dialogue is tied to his alert protocols in a way that's too difficult to separate right now.

"I'm sorry, but this sort of behavior isn't allowed in the Pizzaplex. I'm going to have to ask you to stay here while we wait for security to arrive."

Dialogue finished, Phone Guy leans in, one hand darting out to loosely encircle the Puppet's wrist. He's very familiar with their tactics and abilities, and it's clear he's anticipated that they might flee. He's not physically capable of keeping them here, but he can at least try to talk them down before they activate their hook.

"Don't make us have to chase you, please. We have so many more important things to get done right now. If I were you, I'd just shut myself down right now-- I'll make sure they don't damage you when they take you to P&S, okay?"

🎭The look they are giving them… that isn’t the Phone Guy they know. After all, sure they knew how the other felt about the recycling of old parts, as well as the scrapping of S.T.A.F.F. bots. But this… this was different. Especially since they couldn’t… feel them. There was this weird… hollowness in their database. Hell, they jerk back when the other pokes at the cracks along their middle; thankfully the reinforced ‘glass’ didn’t creak under the pressure. Normally their touch gave them comfort… but now? An uncomfortable shiver ran through their circuits. Almost like they had been given a shock.

The shock almost hurt as much as their words. Because they always listened. Even when they had been upgraded and made into a Glamrock. Although if anything, they were closer to having been built like Sun and Moon. Since Moon was like them, also built with a security protocol and being able to move about the Pizzaplex via the harness and cable system all about the building. Their shades slipped a bit, green-yellow optics flicker as they look at them. They had updated- but for some reason, a electrical surge had short circuited their system while they were preparing to make the closing announcements.

They had been out for only a little while before someone had found them. Things had been fine then… what had changed?

As much as they wanted to listen to them… it just… didn’t feel right. “Speakerphone… i want too… I just… I can’t.” They carefully shifted their other arm behind them, getting ready to hook themselves up in case they needed to ‘fly’ out of there. Phone wouldn’t attack them… it wasn’t in their programming… what was however, was an alert system. It’s often what made them a duo since PG would alert them, and they would come and do what security did best. But the alert system wasn’t just limited to them, it was all other animatronics.
