"Hey! I's youse!" Giving a bright, eager, and friendly wave to Doey, Nicole approaches them with a smile. "Did ya read tha other books? Did ya like 'em?"
There was a look of pure surprise to see the same face again for Doey. Maybe it was because it just felt like it was too often before that faces, he's seen before in the past would never be seen again. Due to... No, there's no need to remember those painful memories.
At first with a timid wave, the living toy was able to get a big smile on his clay features now. "I did! I really loved reading them to the others too—they were so excited to learn there was more to that series. I still feel like I haven't thanked you enough for that still.
Okay, reel it back a bit now Doey. Clearing his throat now to brush away that child-like excitement, he bends slightly. As much as he tries to hide what he really is, even with the clothing and mask on, he recalls being given strange looks still. "I think you're one of the few that hadn't really given me a strange look."

“ klein? i-i know it's late, b-but... well, ” agatha's gaze lowers and she fidgets with her hair, twirling it around her fingers, “ m-my friends d-ditched me and— a-and l-left me alone at the bar. i-i'm a bit t-tipsy a-and i shouldn't drive b-but i only had enough money for my drinks and i c-can't call a cab. ” she shifts in the bar stool, shoulders sinking and her head hanging low. she was having such a good time and now? now she just feels miserable. “ could... c-could you come here a-a-and p-pick me up? i-i know it's late a-and i'm sorry if this is an inconvenience, b-but i didn't know who else to call. ”
Well, from gearing up for bed to getting some jeans on and his jacket. Klein was out the door. "Don't worry, it's nothing to say sorry for, you know you can call me at any time, and I'll be there to pick you up." Klein assures her softly as he gets into the jeep. "Give me the address and I'll be right there, and if you like, we can stay on the phone while I head over there too."

"Chibi ichigo, you never answered my question, how did you want me to make it up to you~?" the immortal hummed as he made his way over to the smaller male, kissing his cheek.
"I've been mulling it over, that's why I've yet to answer. But I think one of the things you could do is meet my family, and not the ones that people say is because of blood and dna." Klein answers as he waves a hand.
"I think it'd be nice for my dad to meet who I've been dating."

「No one set a funeral for me. It's no wonder I was able to live among the colonies for so long since the fall of Aegis VII.」
「Funny how even with my parents still alive they never bothered. But that was always expected with them.」
Something something changes after dying.
Did you know hair will most likely turn red in time after death? I learned that recently! That is well, if you pass before your hair turns white/gray from age and you didn't dye it.

dca deadspace au? yes.
why did i go so hard with sun and moon i'll never know and i will never paint that much again/lying//silly
details under readmore~
Sun and Moon were originally medical staff droids that were designed to scan the health of children, designed to have a friendly planetary appearance. The lens eye they have is specially made to scan vitals and locate/pinpoint main sources of pain or injuries.
They are outdated models that were still functioning without issues while the rest had been scrapped and replaced with newer models. Since Aegis VII's destruction they were later bought and repurposed by EarthGov on request of the Oracle Program.
Both have been reprogrammed to ensure no Necromorph outbreaks happen on any of the colonised planets.
Sun, matching his namesake was repurposed to eliminate the threat by incinerating them with the built-in flamethrower and accelerant to make sure nothing remains of the Necromorphs.
Moon, was designed with the thought of retrieval in mind. With the advanced form of stasis on the both of them, the stasis Moon has has also been altered to give him a massive speed boost. This is useful with capture and taking Necromorphs out of sight to be brought to one of EarthGov's many headquarters so they may run tests to learn more on these reanimated monsters in hopes to find a more effective way to remove them and prevent anymore outbreaks.
Lastly we have Klein. A former technician that was aboard the USG Ishimura and died there, though he clearly looks and acts alive and well. He is mostly able to think freely from the control of the Necromorph infection. When the breakout happened on the Ishimura before Issac and his crew arrives, he took one of the escape pods to get far away from the marker and whatever was sending demands into his head.
Now living on one of the planets, he tries to keep low and hardly leaves the small apartment he lives in. Though he can't hide forever with the two bots around that will in time catch onto the lack of vital signs he has.
Y/N to be introduced later!

HIIIIII!!!
What was just going to be a what-if drawing turned into a one-shot oneshot on what if y/n didn't properly read Sun and Moon's logs?
So here we have this!
Wordcount: 2,790
Characters in this: Y/N, Klein, Edgar (Y/N's sentient computer)
CW:
Y/N makes an irreversible mistake
dehumanization
Klein gets shot in the head
Everyone fweaking dies
Eye contact art below cut as well
You didn't give the logs much thought as you skimmed through them. It's just like you thought after all, these were non-sentient robots. They had set programs and actions, nothing like Edgar whose an AI and capable of so many emotions and feelings as well has their own hobbies. Yet you read on.
They were repurposed…? You look on that log more carefully, feeling your stomach sink.
"Repurposed and reprogrammed to detect, detain or eradicate necromorphs…" The lump in your throat was impossible to swallow down.
You remember the research that was given to you before you quit EarthGov. You saw what those things once were, what became of them and at a horrific rate they could spread. They are what the Unitologist thought were divine beings…
Then, you felt your blood run cold as you found it more harder to breathe. Reaching with your hand to pull the collar of your shirt away from your throat to stop the constricting feeling.
Those robots did detain a necromorph that had blended into society.
And now that thing is in your lab.
You stopped looking over the logs as you ejected the chips out of the computer. The more you thought on it, the more you felt like his weird act over two mindless robots was just some ploy. You breathe in as you try to calm yourself.
"Edgar, contact the EDF now, and get these chips destroyed." You can't have that thing use this same tactic again if it gets away from here.
First, you go and get the gun you own. You never thought you would need to use it. But this is something you can't just… You stare at the gun in your hand. As heavy as it feels, it feels like it might be useless. Necromorphs are already dead, you need to dismember them. That's something you remember.
As much as you should just wait for the EDF, your mind was still clouded by the anger of being played for a fool. You make quick strides back in the direction you left that monster in.
As the door slides open you look to this puppet of a human. This was just a walking reanimated corpse. Whoever this once was, was long gone. This was an imitator, a replicant, an alien infection that could cause humanity to cease to exist.
With the hood off now, you can see the faded red hair of this once living man. Freckled skin held the grey tone of death. Nothing like the photo that was of this living person… Klein was what was on the record. The supposed "survivor" of the USG Ishimura.
Now this necromorph looks to you, tired deep green eyes with pupils that glowed from the smallest amount of light hitting them. As he looked at the gun you pointed to his head now, a tired, wry smile crept across his face before he broke the silence.
"Go ahead, I tried so many times… It does nothing."
Was he mocking you now?
"The EDF has been alerted and are on their way." You state as you tried to not how the fear growing in you, but it reflects in how the gun trembled in your grasp.
A sigh leaves that moving corpse, his gaze shifting to the side. "Great… peachy." Sounding inconvenienced as he started to gather the parts of the robots. He's planning to get out of here before they arrive. As he stood up, your muscles tense as he holds his palm out. "Give them back to me. The program chips I asked you to read the logs of."
He was still trying for that act? Maybe the thing controlling that corpse has yet to learn that its acts can't work if they don't add up. Still, you take a step back as you look to pass the threshold of that maintenance room. "I trashed those chips, do you think I'm stupid? You only used that for a distraction!"
His body seized as his eyes grew wide in alarm and dismay. "What…?" His question was nearly inaudible. Shrinking back as those lifeless eyes looked to the parts at his feet. "You…" It was like he was struggling with what emotion to put front. His eyes dart around before they locked back onto you. An unreadable expression had finally taken over his face yet the glow of the eyes held something malignant.
"You killed them…"
A statement that took you off guard. Killed them? Killed who?? "There's no AI programing in those chips so stop with that act alrea—" You halt in your words as you see him take a step forward. "—Don't you g-get any closer or I'll put a hole in that head of yours!"
"Do humans have programing in them to make them alive? Do animals have that? What makes one alive?" He asks you now, as if this thing had any point to make with his weird reanimated delusions. Yet, he sees how you stare at him. How before you, this was simply…
Nothing human at all. Just a monster.
His shoulders drop as his head jerks slightly as if fighting from having his head drop down in shame. Fighting with internal demons, his gaze once more fixes on you as he takes another step forward.
This time, you gave no warning for it to not come closer. You pull the trigger and watch as thing playing a human stumble back from the shot to the head. Yet, he didn't fall over.
He stood there, his head leaned back from the blast before he stooped forward. Whatever wound the blast should have given him, was already gone. How… how could it regenerate?!
His head lifts slightly as his eyes were once more locked onto you. Disesteem shown in his gaze as he let out a small laugh that one would use when it all felt hopeless. Nihilism lacing his words.
"You… everyone, keeps looking at me like I'm not human. Like I'm some monster…"
A sinking feeling started to wash over you.
"So… if that's what everyone keeps wanting from me…" The glow of his eyes had malice growing as you the sickening realization hits you. How you were just a rabbit before a beast that can outrun you, kill you.
"That's what I'll become for you all."
You quickly hit the button now to close the door before that thing could reach you. Panic washing over you as you run from the door now, hearing it hitting the door, you seeing how the door dents from the blows.
That door won't keep it there.
"Edgar! H-how close are the EDF?!" You cry out as you pass though another set of doors before hitting the panel to shut them and engage the locks. You could hear your heart pounding in your ears, but it wasn't enough to drown out the loud crash of that door finally gave.
「Not close at all.」 Those were the words that displayed in your glasses as you felt like you might vomit from the dread growing in you.
There's no way you can survive this… is there?
"Wh—where's that thing now then?" You ask, quickly making your way to find some place to either hide or be safe in—was anywhere safe even?
「Unknown. I haven't been able to detect any form of hazard from them. :-(」That had you nearly lose your footing as your head felt dizzy on the news. 「It is no longer being picked up by sensors or cameras.」
"No… longer?" That's news you never wanted to hear of that monster! When you open your mouth to speak again, you found you were unable to do… or even move an inch.
You were trapped in stasis.
Your mind flashes back to the time he was still at the entryway to your lab. How his glove had emitted electric sparks. He had stasis as well.
He already found you.
You hear the footsteps behind you, drawing closer before the man moved to stand before you. The anger was gone, his eyes were tired. A worldweary living corpse. One with nothing left to hold out hope for. "I'm not going to put you through the agonizingly slow death stasis can bring. Even if I'm the monster everyone made me, I don't want to have anyone suffer and remain in pain. I've felt it many times… I don't—I never want that to be on anyone."
Why would a monster have such mercy?
"But it's pointless for me to try and explain things to you. Because you took the only reason I had to try and carry on trying to live." He removes the gloves he wore, his hands reaching to cup your face. Cold, dead, waxy feeling… It was unnerving to feel the dead's hands cradle your face. "I'm not going to have you become the thing I am… no one deserves this. But… it's pointless to keep trying to escape what's coming for all."
You made a mistake. Didn't you?
Stasis was fading and your time alive is about to end. You manage to close your eyes finally, tears starting to prick your eyes. Panic was rising.
You felt him hug you. "I'm so sorry." His words where whispered only for your ears.
He made it fast and painless. The only real upside he found with how many people he's killed now. Klein holds your limp body before lowering to scoop your corpse up in his arms, blood and brain matter drip from your skull onto the floor, leaving a trail behind him as he carries your remains to set on a table. Taking care to have your head slightly off the table so the blood and matter go to the floor and not stain your clothing.
If it wasn't for that fact, someone might think you were sleeping…
He was about to step out of the room before seeing how a small light flashes from your glasses. Walking back he removes them before reading each line of text that showed. A plea for you to wake up from the digital friend of yours, soon changing to messages directed to him. Calling him a monster and how could he.
These were all signs of one in pain of the loss of someone so dear to them.
"I'm sorry…" Klein utters as he looks to text after text. "I won't let you be left alone here, but I can't let the EDF get me back after what they did for me."
He walks out of the room as he carries the glasses with him. Not putting them on to read them like one should or to have his hands free. This is not something he deserves. He turns off the lights of every room he goes into.
「Why are you turning the lights off?」 Edgar asks finally, having run out of all the grief and anger he could lash out in text form.
Klein looks to the message before speaking softly. "Since I became… this, the light hurts my eyes more." That was really it. "Really miss getting to be out in the sun without any issue." A sigh leaves him.
「The EDF will be here in less than five minutes.」
"Mmn." It was all he let out to let the AI know he read the message. Gently setting the glasses down before stepping out of the room to make his way to the entryway of the building once more. "I'm not letting them make a mess of this place…"
That was, the least he can do for the saddened computer. No need for Edgar to witness any more death. It was bad as it was he killed you with him being unable to protect you.
As Klein walked out of the building he could see the EDF ships starting to land. "Four ships, quite the army…" A deep sigh leaves as his head lowers. "Probably some Oracles too, can't get hit with stasis, so they need to go first."
Voices speak, visions of those long gone are again in his sight. He always did his best to pretend they weren't there. He had a form of support, in the small time he had company. He had…
'I never did deserve to have anything good in my life.' It was all Klein could think to himself as he watched the soldiers rush around him, guns at the ready. They learned he could be compliant, but they never knew how that one ship he was on became nothing but blood on the walls.
These people however, won't just be gore on the ground.
With how fast the infection's able to spread… it'd probably take the entirety of Ruilara in less than a day. Then it would just be the wait for the Convergence.
"Alright… I'm listening to you so-called "Gods"… What do you want me to do to make us whole?"
As he held his hands up to put up "surrender", Klein watched as they close in on him. Eyes lowering as he knows this would be hell for both him and every living being on Ruilara.
But what's there left for him?
Nothing.
With the planet now wiped from human life, it was only a matter of time now. He had things set for the end, and took on a project for the last of his time. While he couldn't bring back Sun and Moon, he could use what parts that was there to make a body for Edgar.
Trial and error and teaching the once sentient computer how to move freely, how to use motor functions, how to operate machinery, and other things.
Klein's actions left Edgar perplexed, and they would voice it. 「I don't understand. I have still been cold to you, overly hostile. But you still did all this. Why?」 Edgar looks as the mechanism of his neck whirrs to allow his head to tilt.
Klein's head moves slightly, but doesn't stop in what he was working on. "You have your reasons to not treat me kindly. I killed who was important to you." He killed you after all. All because he lost what reasons he had left. "I am the only one left here with you that can talk. I would rather you learn kindness from me and not have to wonder in time why you hurt someone on accident. Some dogs don't know why they bite when they aren't a bad dog… That was something I read once in a book." He turns, smiling to the confused robot now.
「What do you mean by that? I thought this planet was going to—」
"Oh, it is…" Klein answer as he walks over to take the robot by the hands, bringing him into the shuttle he had been messing around with. Inside, he laid your body in cryogenic stasis. He did that once he dealt with the EDF those months ago.
"But you won't be here." Klein tells Edgar as he typed onto the navigation system.
"You will be far from here with them… to bury them in a place that isn't corrupt with the life of other humans."
「What—Wh-wh-why would you do all that? I've—」
"Edgar." Klein pats the conflicted robot on the head. "I've left supplies here for you to build other robots when you make it someplace you can be free. You deserve to keep living. You will be happy again."
Edgar falls silent as Klein set everything up for his departure. 「Will you try and apologize again?」 Finally, the robot asks. 「Before I am to leave?」
"No," the answer was easy for him. "I don't deserve forgiveness, or remembrance. You will forget me in time, and then you will be happier."
With himself off the ship, he presses the button on the outside to close the door before Edgar could head over to argue that statement. Smiling as he gave a wave as the ship's autopilot engaged, watching Edgar trying to talk to him through the ship even as it took off.
Again, like it was always meant to be for him; he was alone.
Watching the light of the ship become more faint, Klein moved to sit down before laying to stare up to the sky.
He sees them now, the Brethren Moons.
It'll be over soon. Finally, he will sleep again. The last eternal slumber.
Yet he finds his vision blurring once more as tears flood his eyes.
He wishes he could live. He wanted to live but…
He never deserved life, he never should have been born.
Maybe if he was never born, you would still be alive and happy with Edgar. Maybe many others would be happy.
Klein closes his eyes.
Mors mihi lucrum. (Death to me is the reward.)
