Prayer to Nue Houjuu to Go Unidentified
-- ( Character Introduction: Nue Houjuu (noo-ayy hou-shjoo) is a nue, with the ability to make items, people, and other things become "unidentifiable". This makes them appear different to every person who sees them. She's generally shy about her true form herself. -- ( What is this: to go "unidentified" can be likened to going unnoticed or not fully seen. this can be used for all sorts of things, such as cloaking yourself as a witch. -- ( Further Suggestions: make an offering of snake iconography, trident iconography, things in both red and blue, drawings of cryptids, and food.

O Nue Houjuu, True Form of the Unidentified. I shield my eyes from your true form, I shield my ears from your true voice. I ask upon you so gently and so humbly, might you make me unidentified too.

Hi, you can call me Khajiit. I'm a Pagan, Buddhist, Shinto practitioner, and eclectic magician who primarily focuses on a The Elder Scrolls based religion and magical practice. However, this is my blog where I talk about everything else I do, I have a sideblog focusing on that.
This is a UPG-centric blog. When I talk about guides, gods, spirits, etc, I use a lot of Unverified Personal Gnosis (UPG). I denote as such for the sake of anyways.
Tumblr media
About Me
Call me Khajiit. they/them, Mx or Misc. asexual aromantic. 20+. white. neurodivergent (AutiADHD), mentally ill.
Eclectic magic doer / magician (or you can call me a witch). Practicing since 2022.
I lead a very small, very casual, friend "coven". It's really just a place for me and my witchy friends to come together and share our craft than a more traditional coven.
My special interests that I'm gonna share on Tumblr are cartomancy / divination, The Elder Scrolls, Touhou Project, and Pokémon.
I use tone tags in my personal posts.
I queue most posts I deem "informational", including some long-winded rambles. Otherwise, I post right away.
Other Blogs
@silly-khajiit : My "official" main blog according to Tumblr. Purposefully kept inactive for the most part, so feel free to ignore it.
@devout-of-the-elder-scrolls : My TES focused blog where I post informational stuff for the most part, and about my personal experiences with these gods.
@khajiit-reads : My reading blog. I perform free readings for others, post personal readings, and post deck reviews.
@khajiit-spelltome : My spelltome blog, where I collect magical resources.
@khajiit-journal : My journal blog, where I post dreams I've had, and about my day to day practice as it unfolds. Never anything too personal as I prefer to keep that to my personal books.
@khajiit-writes : Writing account. Mostly fanfic, some original. Most writing doubles as devotional fiction.

Staples of my Worship and Practice
I worship TES, Touhou Project, and Pokémon for the most part, plus some entities I work with. I work with TES entities, Pokémon entities, Touhou Project entities, demons, dragons, Greek and Roman, Scottish Celtic, Germanic, my ancestors, my guardians, servitors, my helper spirits, my familiars, and other miscellaneous spirits. I still really only talk about TES on Tumblr, as they are my main focus. I do not in any way endorse any appropriation of closed entities. Stop that.
I celebrate a slightly modified version of the Wheel of the Year, and I celebrate it outside of a Wiccan perspective. I mostly do it just because I like the excuse to celebrate and I favor the turning of the seasons.
I use all sorts of oracular tools in my worship. Tarot, oracle decks, runes, dice, etc.
I practice things like astrology, I'm not very good at it, and I don't believe it decides everything about you, nor do I use it for divination (mostly because I don't know how). Pisces Sun, Scorpio Moon, Cancer Rising.
I do not follow the Threefold Law.
I believe deeply in animism and attach it to all things, and it shapes a lot about my practice.
I keep a few physical shrines group-dedicated to a set group (such as a dragon shrine and a deity guide shrine); but use Pinterest altars for individual shrines, as well as visualized shrines in my head.
I partake in daily worship, though pick and choose a guide for the day.
Main Gods & Guides This is an incomplete list, specifically because with how I worship all TES, it's very long. So! It's just the Main Guys I engage with. ⛤ GODS – Alduin . Anubis . Ares . Astaroth . Baphomet . Clavicus Vile . Hakurei God/Kami . Hekate . Hera . Hermaeus Mora . Ho-oh . Kanako Yasaka . Kynareth . Loki . Lucifer . Meridia . Molag Bal . Odahviing . Paarthurnax . Satan . Sheogorath . Shion Yorigami . Sithis . Vivec . Zeus . Zolstiura ⛤ HEROES – Flandre Scarlet . Fujiwara no Mokou . Hata no Kokoro . Heida no Akyuu . Konngara . Nue Houjuu . Parsee Mizuhashi . Reimu Hakurei . Some Things to Know
If I make a mistake or don't know/understanding something, I'd much rather be told so that I can fix it. Granted, nobody owes me this, but if you feel up to it, please do inform me.
You can learn more about my pop culture worship on my TES blog. In general, I believe the gods came first and were inserted into media. You can read more about my stance in this post here, but keep in mind I don't mind if people disagree as long as respect is there. I also do not believe the Daedra are inherently or wholly evil. With the above two points, I cannot and do not blame anybody who refuses to work with entities because of their fictional counterparts. That's a valid choice.
I do not believe the gods are all-powerful or all-knowing. They are capable of mistakes, misunderstandings, and much else.
This blog will not be mentioning more NSFW aspects of worship (such as a certain act as a devotional/offering) to make it more accessible to all, including minors, as well as adhere to any of Tumblrs guidelines, and adhere to my own sensitivities. If you believe or have been told that a guide enjoys these things, then I trust you, but please keep it to yourself.
Any info I share is up to debate, yes, as it is UPG, but I ask you to be respectful when saying "xyz does/n't actually like this!"
I believe the Gods interact directly with mortals often, so I may often speak of direct interactions I have in non-info posts.
I firmly believe that the Gods (and Saints as well) are deeply, truly, beautifully multifaceted. I can never see all sides of them, so when I see that someone has a different experience with this God, I simply assume that it's another facet of their being that They do not show to me, and that's okay!
I refer to some gods with neopronouns. All pronouns used have been told to me by the entity in question that they enjoy them and want me to refer to them by such. On this similar note, on the whole "multifaceted" thing, this also means I don't really care if we use different pronouns for them. I assume the same - They told you to use those instead. Valid!
I use the term "work" as to refer to my work in my worship and my path with them guiding me and supporting me. I do not in any way claim to be co-creating with the Gods or anything like that.
The Draconic Path is a messy term that describes many different roads and there's pretty much no historic precedent. Anything I say on it is inherently UPG.
I'm much further religiously than I am magically.
I block anybody who interacts with me who fits my DNI. I do not list my DNI to avoid drama about it in my asks.

Miss Houjuu, darling Nue, how do you go about deceiving senses that you yourself don't have? A Tengu's hearing or perhaps a mutant monster's ability to see a second or two into the future?
((So… basically how does one fool a quantum search?))
Tumblr media
“Experience and trail an error.  But I’m getting ahead of myself, you’ve asked two questions.  How I go about it in general, and how I’d deal with prescience in particular.  I’ll answer the second first, as it leads well into the first.”
“The first thing I’d need to know is how far the creature can view through the fog of time, which you’ve given me already.  So then the second thing is how exactly it perceives the vagueryof the future, or perhaps the clearer way to put it is can it use information from a potential future that never happened?”
“This is easy enough to test in concept, though practice not so much.  I would simply need to construct a situation where there is only two outcomes, one obviously good, one obviously bad or even lethal; however the bad outcome would give some piece of information that would be needed in a test farther out than the prescience.  The second test would then have two correct ways out, one that relied on knowing the piece of information from the prior one, and another one that could only be gotten by guessing.  Having the two ways out let’s me proof for the fact that certain forms of prescience basically make for a perfect search function.”
“So by way of example, and without getting into details about how I could arrange this because that’s situational and not really important.  I could say trap the creature in a room with a lever that can slide either left or right.  One position opens the exit, the other position incinerates the room while a speaker plays out a five-digit number sequence.  both these results happen near immediately after the lever is moved.”
“Assuming the creature isn’t suicidal, one of two things happen here.  Either the creature moves through the exit or random probability allows it to do something that I couldn’t have foreseen to escape, like tapping on a specific spot of the wall that just happens to be a microscopic stress fracture.  If it’s the later I’m probably dealing with something more similar to Yukari or Izanami which weakened as I am in recent decades, I don’t want to muck with without good reason.”
“So then assuming the creature moves through the first exit like it’s supposed to, it will come across a keypad locking down the another exit.  The interface on said keypad would imply that the pass code is 4-digits, and indeed there would be a 4-digit pass code that would open an exit to what would appear to be third room.  However, entering the 5-digit code that was never actually said by the flamethrower switch will open a different exit that obviously leaves the compound.”
“Option 1, it enters the 5-digit pass code.  This tells me that it is probably aware of the outcomes of choices it did not make.”
“Option 2, it enters the 4-digit pass code.  This tells me it is probably not aware of the outcome of choices it did not make.”
“Option 3, which is the most likely case if we’re not dealing with at least a demi-god or other powerful supernatural entity is it does nothing or starts putting in random pass codes, or stares at the keypad or some similar non action.  Even if it does eventually get the right code.  This tells me it sees ‘the future’ at roughly the same rate as it experiences the present, and cannot test multiple actions and outcomes simultaneously.  In effect it does not have a perfect search function that prescience can imply.”
“Now naturally, circumstances probably wouldn’t allow for me to use such blunt and straightforward tests, and there are some flaws in the room/switch tests anyway.  More realistically I’d probably act through agents to set up situations that would give me such information as appropriate to the creature and my own resources and interests.”
“Regardless, I should have the knowledge I’d need to efficiently craft an illusion to fool it.  I’ve fooled entities with prescience before, and even knowing how they think of time, it is not cheap or easy no matter how you slice it.  Mucking with the identities of ‘could-be’, ‘might-be’, and so on is not something even I do flippantly.”
“So what I’d likely do instead is grant the illusions their own psudo-intelligence or bind a soul to them so that the could react as I would have them react without need for my direct attention.  Wouldn’t work for a complex or long term ploy, but there’s far less at risk with me not extending my power that far into a domain that is not mine as I’d have to do the illusion properly.”
Tumblr media
“Now you might be asking why I bothered with the whole testing explanation if I wouldn’t actually use it in favour of the psudo-intelligence solution.  I did so, because it is a good example of how I can go about getting the information I need to properly fool a sense I do not have.”
“In the case of the Tengu you mentioned, it was far simpler.  I infiltrated a Tengu community under the guise of a Tengu sorcerer who had traded her hearing of the divine wind for arcane insight, but made the foolish mistake of trading it to a Nue who forever tainted her aura.  Only one Tengu was every savy enough to think to question such a simple cover, and he was bought off easily enough, not that he thought of it as such.”
“Anyway, with my fake identity secure, it gave me opportunity to observe what things the Tengu seemed to notice that I would not, and a socially acceptable reason to ask them to be pointed out to me.  It also gave me plenty of opportunity to experiment with my illusions, on myself of all things. Best part was, I didn’t even have to lie when they perceived something weird about me.  It really was a Nue doing it after all.”
