Tumblr media
Entebbe Airport Shuttles - Best Airport Shuttle Services from Entebbe
To highlight briefly, Entebbe is one of Uganda’s renowned towns. There are other things to capture anyone’s mind, but the main reason for the popularity of this town around the globe is Ebb Airport. Since it is the only international airport in Uganda, it is easy to understand why all flights from numerous parts of the World land here. Therefore there is no other place for planes to land in Uganda if it is not this notable airport. Entebbe airport is a bit isolated from Entebbe town and other towns or cities in Uganda, therefore it requires anyone to transfer by any mean of interest to access some services like accommodation, banking, forex exchange and more. What gives hatred to most travelers to Uganda is which mean to use for transfer from Ebb Airport. This is a common and acceptable question. We want to let you know that this frequently asked question is the reason why we drafted this precise writing such that every visitor (whether a first-timer or second timer) is informed of the best and cheapest way to travel from Entebbe to Kampala or any other place in Uganda. Basing on our monthly, thousands of travelers gain a lot from daily publications that give an insight into Entebbe Airport Taxi services and transportation around Uganda. From Entebbe airport, the next town is Entebbe. Then from there, you can connect to other towns like Kampala, Uganda’s capital, Jinja, Mbarara, Fort Portal and more. Are you not sure of the best way to travel from Entebbe? There are many options for you, but the best is to use airport shuttles. There are cheap, flexible and more rewarding. These services were offered on a bus which used to set off on timely schedules, but it is no longer in existence. Right now private agencies like Entebbe Airport Shuttles offer this service in their well-conditioned SUV cars at pocket-friendly prices. Make sure to book in advance such that you are catered for in time and you will be picked by their driver on the arrival date. How to make a booking? This is simple just click on their online platform and fill the contact us form. The reservation agent is always available to answer all your questions. If you are contented with everything including the transfer cost, then you are free to confirm the booking with the agent. Impressions of Africa Day 1 – Travel
Impressions of Africa Day 1 – Travel
The flight to Africa is foreboding and definitely not for the faint of heart. Yes, I realize that flying to Asia or Australia from the U.S. is longer, but after 13 hours of being in a cramped airplane with broken down seats, I was more than happy to arrive in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. As we deplaned, I took a deep breath of humid air fragrant from the tropical vegetation. Walking through…

300 Ugandans to fly home in first repatriation flight from United Arab Emirates The first batch of Ugandans stranded in the UAE due to the Covid-19 pandemic will fly back home on July 3, the Ugandan envoy has said. "The flight - Emirates (EK 729) carrying 300 Ugandans - will depart from Dubai International Airport at 12.35pm and will arrive at Entebbe-Uganda at 17.05pm," said Ugandan ambassador to the UAE, Zaake Wanume Kibedi. "More than 1,500 Ugandans stranded in the UAE have registered with the Ugandan embassy in Abu Dhabi since April and the diplomatic mission is still in the process of putting together lists and arranging more flights so they can all return home," added the ambassador.  Those being repatriated include businessmen who have been stuck here since March, pregnant women, those with illnesses and Ugandan expats who have lost jobs due to the Covid-19 crisis. Uganda Day One Continued - Yes, There’s More
After a half page of intense journalism (see below), I went comatose for a solid four hours.  This glorious nap was made even more marvelous by the views of the astonishingly green country below. Melody mentioned that this country was known for its beauty, but I was not expecting to wake up to this sea of vibrant colors outside my window. My face, and phone camera, remained glued to the airplane window until it was time to de-board.
Upon entering the customs area, we received a squirt of hand sanitizer. Unexpected, but appreciated. The customs agents also took our temperature after checking our paperwork as a means of preventing the spread of Ebola. Also unexpected, and again, appreciated. After speeding through customs, snagging our bags without issue, and getting burned by the airport currency exchange rate, we were greeted by David from the IRC- the first of many smiles to greet us on our journeys.
So after you travel 24 hours to the other side of the planet, what is the FIRST thing you want to do?? Drive to the IRC’s main office in Uganda? ME TOO!!!
Yes, I realize that sounded sarcastic, but after my aforementioned nap of glory and seeing East Africa for the first time, I was pretty pumped about meeting my new friends-to-be and expressing my excitement for their country. Entebbe (airport) --> Kampala (IRC office) = a one hour van ride. Seriously? I’ve flown half way around the world, people. I eat hour-long car rides for breakfast.
Enter: our first encounter with that brilliant Kampala traffic.
Don’t get me wrong, traffic is great for your first roadside photos of Ugandan life (see below). Not so great for greeting your new besties in the most sociable manner. The latter was even more unfortunate because our UG friends are literally, and I’m not exaggerating, the NICEST people on the planet. We arrived several hours late, way past closing time, and were still greeted not only by smiles, but a warm sit down circle of introductions, friendly conversation, and delicious snacks (including fresh mango juice).
After an evening of IRC introductions and settling into the hotel- room snuggled at 18 degrees Celsius- we met in the lobby for dinner and a little WiFi action (aka no conversation). Actually… there was conversation… with our loved ones back in the states via FaceTime and WhatsApp. The fact that I could talk to Pete back home in San Francisco astounded me. Half a world away and I was still able to pick up of the phone and call him like I was across town. As simple as it was, we were both so happy and surprised that we mostly talked about the fact that we were able to talk. Modern technology continues to astound me, even as I stay in touch with my IRC Uganda friends today.
And, as my day(s) of travel came to an end, against Dr. Mom’s wishes/orders, I went ahead and enjoyed an alcoholic beverage of beer. And then another of wine. Sorry I’m not sorry.
