I love how he is just... there. All the time. Just outside the door, leaning and watching. Why is he there? *shrugs* He just is. Kinda creepy. I also love how loyal he is, to a fault.

He is very underutilized. Like, if you go the whole game with out ever getting a medallion piece, he just vanishes at the end of the game. Doesn't even leave his armor. *poof* gone.

the deal with ensha fucks the shit out of my brain, but it makes me think that godwyn's role as prince of death isn't something new to this world — deathblight and twlid are something entirely new, but not the title of a lord in death.

and it's interesting that ensha is called "the soulless king" while godwyn is called "the prince of death", as if there's still some sort of hierarchy in death, even though they're not even related. while the soulless king is said to be lord of the desperate and lost, the prince of death is said to be lord of the many and the meek.

it surely opens a precedent of living in death, living despite the lack of soul, before the issue with twlid zombies was a thing. and that the problem is actually the blight that came with godwyn, not the possibility of being a soulless lord.

As far as these two go, Gideon really just…. Hates both of them. But one of them is stupid enough for Gideon to use, one way or another.

Ensha is a weird character. His actions and motives in game are pretty easy to understand, but his background and origins are incredibly strange and opaque.

Let’s start with the easy stuff. We know from Gideon’s dialogue that Ensha is his servant, and this is also the reason he attacks you in the Roundtable Hold. More specifically, he attacks you when you return with any half of the Haligtree Medallion (something Gideon was willing to destroy a village to get).

Gideon states that Ensha was acting on his own here, and that he hadn’t ordered him to attack you. He could very well be lying about this but there’s not really any way to know for sure. Either way, Ensha dies and Gideon decides that we are now his best bet for getting information about the Haligtree, so he tells us to “find the albinauric woman”.

Now for the more confusing stuff. I’m just gonna put some screenshots of item descriptions here, because I honestly have no idea what to make of these…

From here on out it’s pretty much gonna be pure speculation.

We know from the description that the armor is made from the bones of an ‘ancient lord of the lost and desperate’ (who was also apparently soulless?!? We’ll get to that can of horses later). We also know that this lord’s name was Ensha, which could imply either that the current Ensha has taken the name of the armor, or that he’s literally wearing his own bones as armor (the armor does heal you continuously so… it’s possible).

As for the whole ‘soulless king’ part… well you’d think that that would be referring to Godwyn right? Especially considering that Ensha was supposedly the lord of the lost and desperate, which matches Fia’s description of Godwyn as the lord of the ‘meek and helpless.’

The problem is that there is literally nothing else that supports this idea. Godwyn is never directly referred to as Ensha and there is nothing that suggests that his bones were removed. We also know from the wandering mausoleums that Godwyn is not the only soulless demigod, but I struggle to think who else fits the description of ‘The soulless King.’

And don’t ask me about the quote written in the clinging bone weapon description, because I have no fucking idea what it means.

So can anyone explain what is up with Ensha because he is the one character who's lore/story I do not understand at all

Kinda insane how much traction the uncolored post got a few days ago, not expecting anything as crazy as that with the colored version, but just wanted to point it out anyway XD

This will be my last Elden Ring themed thing I will do this week most likely. Did quite a few of these back to back so Im happy with that ^^

I do have some body type headcanons, for the Roundtable Tarnished gang that I came up with while bored in the car:

D: MCU build. Very visibly strong, but my guy does not eat well or hydrate

Rogier: average and lean, more of a gymnast build. Very agile

Diallos: MY MAN IS BUILT LIKE A GREEK STATUE. He takes pride in his appearance and it shows, just look at how soft his hands are!

Brother Corhyn: dude is like 90lbs soaking wet you can knock this boy over with a stiff breeze. Twig of a lad

Nepheli: this woman wears no armor and dual-wields battle axes and she's a LOUX. She's built like a fucking fridge and can throw one across a football field

Roderika: canonically a soft, sheltered noblewoman who can hardly lift a blade; as such I feel like she's soft, delicate, and just a bit pudgy. Very very cute

Fia: milf build

Gideon: OLD CODGER AHEAD. No seriously tho, dude never leaves that desk, never does anything for himself, copies all your spells? He's built like a twiggy grandpa

Ensha: lean muscle, deceptively strong for his build; he's somewhat similar to Rogier in build, but a lot sturdier
