On one hand, the use of blue and red in the episode Element of enstars is meant to highlight eichi and rei's contrast in both personality and design with rei being presented as a vampire or demon and eichi being more "angelic" and elevated. Which again ends up being a subversion because eichi acts as the main antagonist for the first half of the anime and rei is among the first to lend the protagonists a helping hand

Debuting on YouTube on April 6, New Ensemble Stars!! Tsuioku (Remembrance) Selection ‘Element’ will feature new music based on the “Element” storyline from the popular game. The film will mark the franchise’s second animated film. Produced by Happy Elements Kakaria Studio, the anime will star Toshiki Masuda as Rei Sakuma, Takuya Eguchi as Wataru Hibiki, Kotaro Nishiyama as Kanata Shinkai, Hiroki Takahashi as Shu Itsuki, Kenji Nojima as Natsume Sakasaki, Kaito Ishikawa as Tsumugi Aoba, Hikaru Midorikawa as Eichi Tenshoin, Junichi Suwabe as Ran Nagisa, and Natsuki Hanae as Hiyori Tomoe. The film is animated by Osamu Yamasaki from Dandelion Animation Studio, and its music is produced by Kenji Kawai, the renowned composer behind Ip Man and Ghost in the Shell. The new film is written by Japanese screenwriter Akira, and is directed by Osamu Yamasaki with musical composition from Kenji Kawai. Based on the “Element” storyline from the game, earned through the Reminiscence Gathering of the Three Magicians game event, the storyline focuses on a collection quest and live performances, and — upon release — will be streamable on the New Ensemble Stars!! official YouTube channel.

I've been watching the enstars anime and it is so hilarious to me, especially after watching much more normal band animes. It's highschool shenanigans mixed with band performances mixed with death note level drama and schemes. I love it so much

at some point the main girl gets snatched by two random guys out of nowhere, and the guys are singing and throwing her up in the air and they bring her to a guy that's lying in a coffin???? No idea what that was but I am utterly captivated

The main characters are trying to overthrow their student council and the show gives it the same treatment as them actually going to war. I don't know if that was just the translation I watched being weird, but at some point someone says they're "ready to risk their lives" for this, like dude you are in high school

The student council president comes back to school and there's dramatic lighting and music that makes it seems like the devil has just risen, meanwhile the guy himself is like "hey guys I'm back from the hospital:) I liked your show:)"

Literally all they're doing is like. glorified dance-offs and rebellion against high school policies but they're talking about it like "we need to defeat the enemy" "let us battle fairly" "I will assist in your revolution"

at some point a band really doesn't want to lose against another band so one of them decides to solve their problems via actual honest to god kidnapping?? can't you just like shove someone in a locker or whatever normal highschool bullies do

and to be honest, highschoolers in situations like this would probably also see their situation as a matter of life and death, so props for the. realism. question mark?

How long has it been already?

One month? Two? Is it five now? The days after the accident blurred together, it all happened too fast— You didn’t remember anymore.

You stood up, and walked over to where your lover sat on the soft grass, gazing out at the river, a pebble in hand. The sky above was coated in orange and pinkish hues, the sunset painting the clouds in a faint gray color mixed with purple, swaying in the cool breeze.

You stayed still, watching quietly. Even though you wanted to speak, you wouldn’t be heard. You were gone after all—

you were dead.

I wish things didn’t end this way.

It had become a routine; this silent watch over them—making sure they were doing well. In the beginning, it was hell. The shouts, the intense denial, the pain. The line that separated the living and the deceased wasn’t too wide.

You still held feelings, memories of your life throughout the years, still shed tears, even without a beating heart.

The pain was supposed to be gone after death. Why is it still there?

Loneliness, sorrow, love, too. It wasn’t different, it felt exactly the same. But it doesn’t matter, your feelings wouldn’t be able to reach them.

Unless we reunite in death.

As more time went by, you started to realize they were moving on— with someone else. Filling the void in their heart, forgetting about you. You could see it in their eyes, you could feel it even—the look of hope, of healing. The way their heart began to beat a bit quicker each time the two were met.

Can you still feel heartbreak even without a beating heart?

You finally had the answer.

You wanted to be angry. Hold a grudge against the person, shout and somehow reach out to your lover and be remembered again. Be loved again. But you couldn’t. You had no voice, nothing to carry your pain in.

Filled with dread, betrayal. You tried to accept their decision and let go, to be happy, but you couldn’t deny the growing feeling of resentment.

Is it selfish to wish that you never let me go?

You could only watch. Watch and wish. Wish that you were still a part of their love, be reassured and held in their arms once again. To be told “I love you” one last time.

But those wishes were unreciprocated. You were forgotten already, fading away in the back of their mind. The pain was unbearable, you weren’t in peace. The vow you once made after death to always protect them, ended up being broken.

You couldn’t watch anymore.

Either way, it wouldn’t have mattered if you still did or not.

After all, they were happy with someone else now.
