Hope we get DoTs back on SMN. Could mix it with the Primals. Burns from Ifrit, Stone Strapnel for Titan, Razor Wind from Garuda, Aetheric Scorch from Bahamut and Everlasting Blaze for Phoenix. Apply it via the new Tri-Distator AoEs or just from using the enhanced Ruins. Or make it a special for each Primal like Bahamut having Enkindle and Deathflare. Or just put it on the Enhanced Ruins and then give us Bane back to SPREAD.

Biggest Flub
My current biggest misplay in my FFXIV rotations is with Summoner.
When you're doing high-level content and have Phoenix, you don't want to use both buttons on the boss.
When you're using Bahamut, your Astral Flow button turns into Deathflare - an orbital laser - and your Enkindle button triggers Akh Morn - also an orbital laser.
When you're using Phoenix, your Endkindle button triggers Revelation - a fiery orbital laser - which is possibly a little silly considering your Astral Flow button turns into Rekindle. I feel like Enkindle ought to trigger Rekindle, if you're gonna have the spells named thus.
The thing about Rekindle is it's a powerful heal over time. If you cast it at the boss, the game will assume you're trying to cast it on yourself, but it's quite rare you're the one who needs a big heal when it comes up.
This and Lux Solaris at level 100 are skills I've never once used correctly. But Lux Solaris is unused because I haven't done a lot of level 100 content. Rekindle I've been using a lot - wrong.

Hi it's me person who finished Dawntrail and I'm here not to talk about the story BUT SMN LVL 100.

literally all i want for SMN in 7.0 is a third akh morn type blast. i think they could turn Ruin IV into V (or VI if Ruin III becomes Ruin V?) and it could be the third one after enkindle and astral flow in bahamut. i would like that :)
#i know ppl want more different lego pieces but i would be happy with. just. more akh morn frfr#ffxiv#ffxiv summoner

I started writing notes for what was going to be a short (haha) series of connected FF16 oneshots, but now I can’t stop. I’m up to four or five planned stories in this collection.
Also my FF14 brain is like “what if you title each fic after a SMN ability?” It's so low-effort, but you know what, I am also low-effort.
Details and spoilers under the cut.
Currently powering through NG+ to reach the point where Joshua joins so I can refresh my memory on various things.
Radiant Aegis: The Joshua Show, covering the traumatic Phoenix Gate aftermath and recovery, and his decision to work against Ultima from the shadows. I feel like he never intended to reveal himself to Clive, that he planned to seal Ultima and die without Clive ever knowing, to protect him and spare him the pain, but circumstances kept forcing Joshua’s hand. (Which ended up being for the best because Power of Love and Friendship.)
Enkindle Phoenix: Clive uses an unconventional method to ease the burden of the curse on Joshua. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) That’s it, that’s the fic. With apologies to SMN mains for besmirching their summon abilities lmao.
Searing Light: Dion decides to do a test run to ensure that he can prime into Bahamut without losing control because the game robbed us of a sidequest about this exact thing. Features a field trip with the brothers, PTSD, made-up dragon lore.
Resurrection: How all three made it out of Origin alive because in this house everybody lives happily ever after.
Revelation: Post-Origin rebuilding of human society or something idk this one would be complicated.
And hopefully that will be all! Because this already well out of hand!
I didn't know that I loved traumatized, fucked-up brothers so much. Although it's probably more the mutual devotion and protectiveness bordering on obsession that I find appealing, rather than the brothers part per se. That's just a bonus lol.
As for Dion, I also love a tragic hero, a white knight whose good intentions result in the blood of innocents on his hands, who breaks under the weight of the guilt and then has to put himself back together. Which pretty much also applies to Clive! And heck, Jill too. They should all go to therapy together.

Square: a lot of these classes have like a million buttons to press, and players only have so much hotbar space. what can we do to help this out
also Square: Flare Star is its own button on black mage despite not having the MP to cast literally anything else by the time it's available. summoner is keeping physick instead of it becoming Lux Solaris when that's up and you still have to manually enkindle Phoenix and the Bahamuts despite there being absolutely no reason to. red mage has two individual buttons for verfire and verstone when those could easily be rolled up into a single button or even better just outright replace Jolt when one of them is active. we COULD roll melee combos into a single button like we do for PvP but uhhhhh we're not gonna. we could ALSO roll gunbreaker's Continuation actions into, you know, the ones you actually have to do first to use them but nah, instead we'll lock Sonic Break behind their damage buff for no discernable reason. playing a card on ast is three seperate actions now
so i'm just now looking at what Dawntrail did to astrologian and uhhh
they made this shit unplayable with a gamepad is what they did

Ruin 2's icon looks like a grapefruit, no I cannot unsee this, yes it is so far my favorite spell icon. You have a favorite spell/ability icon? Or just favorite ability/spell in general
Battle Litany (DRG), Passage of Arms (PLD), or Summon Bahamut (SMN), Enkindle Bahamut (SMN), and Shadowflare (Previously SMN but they removed it), would probably be my favorites! But if I had to pick a favorite out of all of them I’d say Summon Bahamut

Trust NPC: Thiji Higuri
Selection: “There is Power in Beauty... and I shall put that to the proof.”
Job: As a Blissful Master, Thiji has trained secretly in his retirement to go above and beyond the aptitude of most Summoners, inventing his own unique combat style revolving around the utilization of Blissful Aether and the Lady of Bliss, Sri Lakshmi.
Thiji had deduced that with all the primals embodying different traits and aspects that their kits could be a tad more diverse to compliment the Summoner and/or their team as a whole. As a Blissful Master, the Lakshmi line would specialize in utility in the essence of passive healing and cooldown reduction. The actions are weaker in potency compared to the Bahamut and Phoenix lines as a counterbalance to the latter's pure damage, with Chanchala being a good source of burst damage as he can pull it off twice before Demi-Lakshmi dissipates. (Entire kit explained in detail below)
Weapons: Thiji utilizes a "Blissful Grimoire” - a Cantamina Thavnaria augmented through a marriage of his innate Near Eastern alchemy knowledge with that of the Ananta’s magical prowess. This special tome facilitates the conductivity of blissful aether with ease. While in the Blissful Trance, this grimoire temporarily vanishes, taking on the form of a lotus on which the Mythrite Sultan levitates, and utilizes his hands to cast spells.
AI Behavior: As a former adventurer with almost a half-score winters of experience under his belt, Thiji Higuri is well-accustomed to party etiquette. Despite his aloof countenance and standoffish nature, Thiji is an avid team player.
He will ensure that he never charges ahead of the Tank, focuses fire on whomever the Tank designates the largest threat, and utilizes Role-based Actions whenever he senses a dangerous attack. He will prioritize keeping the Healer safe as they are the backbone behind any functioning party.
He knows well the dichotomy between Limit Breaks, and will only execute his when he sees an opening. If he is accompanied by a melee DPS, he will forgo using it during a boss battle, but may utilize it during minor pulls in between to help facilitate easier clears. He is a bit more reserved if a ranged physical DPS is present, allowing them a fair chance at using it before the party sits on the Limit Break meter for too long.
Knowing that anything can go wrong at any time in the heat of battle, he uses Swiftcast sparingly, mostly as a tactical countermeasure to revive fallen allies so the Healer can conserve MP.
For support-based Actions such as Dragon Sight, Thiji will endeavor to maintain the buff for as long as he can without jeopardizing himself, even if he knows he can take a hit. When idle, he will always be at the back of the party with his arms behind his back. While in the Blissful Trance, his eyes are closed and his hands are in the Anjali Mudra when idle.
When Chanchala is active, Thiji’s eyes open dramatically and give off an icy blue glow, and bears a more aggressive expression on his face.
As a bonus, special Battle Lines will be said when certain conditions are met (denoted by an asterisk). While in the Blissful Trance, his tone is softer and more serene.
Battle Lines:
Engaging Enemy - “We move.”
Skill Use 1 (Enkindle) - “Bring unto them the dream...”
Skill Use 2 (Offensive) - “[Evil Laughter]”
Skill Use 3 (Rare/Cooldown) - “Imbecile!”
*Skill Use 4 (Blissful Trance (Without Demi-Lakshmi)) - [Recites a random line from a Stotra in Thavnairian tongue]
Skill Use 4 (Summon Lakshmi) - “Surrender... to bliss.”
Skill Use 5 (Enkindle Lakshmi) - “We shall deliver them from their hatred...”
Assist - “We conquer.”
*When Healer is an Astrologian and he receives the Spear - “The Fury guides my wrath...!“
*When Healer is a Scholar and Chain Strategem was executed - “Weakness confirmed. Strike at once!”
*When Chain Strategem is used 2 - “A mythrite chance...!”
*When a Dancer is present and he is selected as a Dance Partner - “You honor me with this dance.”
*When selected as a Dance Parter 2 - “Pray do not shame my heritage...”
Limit Break:
Level 1 - “You are becoming an eyesore...” *After Starshard executes* “... That’s better.”
*Level 2 (Only when an Astrologian is present) - “Watch closely, Astrologians... this is REAL star power!”
Level 3 - “This is getting stupid... I am ending this now.”
Defeated
Common - “...”
Rare - “So much for finding my Sultana...”
Revived
Common - “My thanks.”
Rare - “Our dream may continue... my thanks.”

How to currently SMN:
As SMN you have your Carbuncle whose only job is to either give you a shield or later do a party wide buff. Every time you die you gotta resummon Carbuncle. It doesn’t fight for you anymore. It stands there, looks pretty, and is probably scrolling on instagram while you’re being swarmed by opo-opos.
Step 1. Use Aethercharge which will become Dreadwyrm Trance later on. Then either Ruin/Outburst until its done. Step 1a. When its Dreadwyrm Trance use Astral Impulse/Flare to your hearts content until it runs out. Also with Bahamut on the field, Deathflare and Akh Morn can be weaved into the attacks during the Trance’s duration. But they both have such long Cool Downs they might as well each be one use per trance.
Step 2. Your Charge/Trance is done. Despite what they said during the Letter to the Producer. You can actually use the Ruby, Topez, or Emerald Jewel in whatever order. You use this by summoning your Ruby/Topez/Emeral Carbuncle later your Ifrit/Titan/Garuda-Egi and then at level 90, the actual damn thing.
Step 2a. Using Ruby grants you two “long” cast time spells in place of Gemshine and Precious Brilliance. Topez grants you 4 instant spell casts with a short CD and Emerald grants you 4 instant spell cast and near instant CD. Initially all these spells seem to be single target save for Emerald’s phase. At which point its aoe. But eventually, it all becomes the same AoE spell and from what I can tell, it all collectively does the same damage over the same amount of time. You can start with Ruby for any calm phases, use Topez if you need to keep up keep while minimally moving, or weave Emerald if you need to move around a lot.
Step 2b. You will, however, have to use all these up. Because waiting for Aethercharge or Trance to CD while you need Emerald or Topez at the time is just not good upkeep.
Additionally around level 86 your Enkindle will become spells for each phase instead of just being grayed out until you summon Bahamut.
For Ruby: Enkindle grants you a charge attack which does AoE Damage and an extra attack that lets you just melee aoe again. Which like Topez’s attacks use an instant cast and a short CD.
For Topez: Enkindle grants your Topaz Catastrophe a combo aoe move Mountain Buster. Which is instant cast and instant use and will only change once you’ve cast Topaz Catastrophe. So its kind of just Topaz Cat. > Mountain Buster, four times.
For Emerald: Your Enkindle becomes the staple of old Garuda-Egi for a long cast time you can summon a patch of AoE damage that also acts as a DoT if the enemies remain in your area.
Step 2c.: At 90 when you’re able to summon Ifrit, Titan and Garuda they’ll do an AoE attack before fucking off at your general target location. That’s it.
Step 3. At level 80, after your trance has finished and after a long cool down. It’ll become Summon Phoenix. Doing so will grant a party wide, decent length, Heal over Time to all allies within a certain range. You’ll also gain Rekindle which will grant you a decent heal for yourself or one of your party members but can only be used for the duration of Phoenix’s remaining. Naturally your Gem Shine and Precious Brilliance will turn into the Single Target Fountain of Fire and the AoE Brand of Purgatory. Brand no longer combos with Fountain. Naturally like Bahamut you also get Phoenix’s one use Doom Orbital Strike AoE, Revelation.
Naturally, much like Trance, after its done and while you’re waiting for Trance to come off CD, another round of Jewels will be available for you to follow through with.
Step 4. Energy Drain/Energy Siphon still lets you use the Single Target Fester” and the AoE Painflare. Painflare no longer has any weird aoe effect, it just hits everything around it.
Step 5. I couldn’t exactly pin down if it was because I used a gem or because the gem got done expiring but at random intervals Ruin IV will just become available to use once a certain amount of time.
Step 6. Physick is still kind of shit at higher levels don’t bother, let the Healers do their work. Put swift cast next to Rez cause the trials are unforgiving.
Step 7. When Trance/Charge/Phoenix is on CD and you got no gems use Ruin and Outburst.
Thats it...that’s Summoner.

TRUST NPC || Celestaux de Branchais
Selection: “I’ll follow your lead.”
Job: Arcanist {Caster DPS}
Weapons: A lovingly crafted grimoire. Though it never seems to be the same one twice.
AI Behavior:
Celestaux is a fairly independent and straightforward companion, and therefore perfect for beginners. He dodges all AOEs to the best of his ability and seems to have a very good handle on battlefield strategy with an uncanny ability to predict incoming attacks, especially in regards to draconic-like enemies. He opens with DoTs {Miasma/Bios} will focus his attacks on the same target as the player. With mobs of three or more enemies, he will ensure all stay constantly under the effect of his DoTs and switch to AOE based attacks {Painflare/Outburst}. His carbuncle will similarly focus the same enemy, executing egi-assault as it comes off of cooldown and Enkindle upon orders.
Dreadwyrm Trance is used freely upon cooldown, and he will usually reserve execution of Enkindle for use during its effects. Aetherpact is reserved for use directly before the use of Dreadwyrm Trance every time it is off cooldown. Summoning Demi-Bahamut is reserved only for boss fights, and he will brush off any attempts to goad him into summoning it sooner.
Battle Lines:
“Who’s first?” - Starting Attack Line “The situation calls for a bit of adjustment.” - Swapping to a different carbuncle “More fire power? I’ll get right on it..” - Using Dreadwyrm Trance “It seems this requires a bit more force. Stand back!” - Summoning Demi-Bahamut “Please don’t tell people I can do that.” - Demi-Bahamut dissipates “Best spare the healer a bit of trouble. On your feet, if you please!” -Using Resurrection
Limit Break:
• “Are you certain we shouldn’t be saving this? Very well.” - Using Limit Break 1 • “If I must rain fire to end this, so be it!” - Using Limit Break 2 • “You shall meet your end at my hand, even if I must become what I dread most!” - Using Limit Break 3
KO’d:
• “Blast! I wasn’t... finished...” - Variation 1 • “Tell him... I’m sorry...” - Variation 2 • “Ah... this dream again...” - Special Variation - Killed by dragons/meracydians/etc
Revived:
• “My apologies. I shall be more careful.” - Variation 1 • “Gods, how embarrassing. Let us pretend that didn’t happen.” - Variation 2
BONUS:
Celestaux has a damage boost against dragons and beings closely related or similar in physiology, as well as any Ishgardian-trained forces. These things are definitely not related.
If you stop to pet his carbuncle, he will make a comment about the creature becoming spoiled.
If taken into any dungeons in Ishgard or Dravania, he will always be wearing a mask. Speaking to him elicits only flat responses. If taken into The Vault or The Singularity Reactor, he will mutter about ‘that damned Bull’.

HIGH AFFINITY BONUS:
Selection: “If you require a shield, let it be mine.”
Job: Temple Knight (Tank)
Weapons: A kite shield and broadsword
AI Behavior:
Celestaux is a fairly stubborn tank; in any Trials he will always move to be the Main Tank unless the other tank is the player character with their stance already on or if the other tank is Carvallain de Gorgagne. His ability to hold aggro is unrivaled, and he will focus his attacks on whatever enemy has the most starting HP. In mobs of three or more, he will use AOE attacks and activate Rampart every time it is off cooldown. He opens most pulls with Intervene followed closely with Circle of Scorn, regardless of the number of mobs.
If there is no immediately available free space to move into to dodge an AOE, he will pop a cooldown and take the attack head on. He will cast Clemency on himself if his health drops below 20%, and on any party members that drop below 25% if his MP is over half. If he is in a party with another person he knows well, he will cast Clemency regardless of his own MP if their health drops below 35%. If the healer drops below 40%, or appears to be in immediate danger, he will activate Cover.
Battle Lines:
“Let’s get started!” - Starting Attack Line “You’re going to have to try harder than that..” - Using Sentinel “My guard is impenetrable!” - If struck while Hallowed Ground is active “If you insist on taking the lead, you’ll be needing this..” - Using Shirk on another tank “Stay behind me! I will shield us from the storm!” - Using Passage of Arms “That looks bad. Allow me to assist.” - Using Clemency on a party member “I can handle this much myself, you needn’t fuss over me.” - Using Clemency on himself
Limit Break:
• “This is a waste.” - Using Limit Break 1 • “If you would stay behind me, this would not be necessary...” - Using Limit Break 2 • “Trouble is coming! Stand back and prepare for impact!” - Using Limit Break 3

The Harbinger of Calamities
The Harbinger of Calamities (Normal, Extreme Coming Soon)
Experiments often times end in failure, many suffer and face great pain because of such things. A man once freed from such torment was taken back and now his mind lay broken.
In this world, Jacques fell during the events of Stormblood to the Garlean Empire once again. Being recaptured, he was brought back to the labs of Aulus mal Asina where previous experiments were returned to and greater experiments brought out to try and break the Au Ra. By breaking him they would have him as their ultimate weapon in their quest to unit all the races under one flag and set out to destroy the threat of the Ascians as well as to eliminate the Primals at their cores. But little did they know that by breaking the man they would unleash a monster that would make the former Calamity look like child’s play by comparison. A broken man who had a taste of freedom now becomes the monster that he has always feared he could become.
This boss fight will mix together abilities from the various Dragon Bosses/Trials of the game including Midgardsormr, Bahamut and Nidhogg. It also plays on the Trust System that will be coming in Shadowbringers, if the players have a high enough bond with Jacques an additional option will be available at the end of the fight for them.
“Beautiful… perfect. Yes, you are what we wanted and so much more… A creature of utter destruction, designed to make our enemies bow and serve. Now… go forth, bring about unity and make our enemies turn into our allies.”
The Harbinger of Calamities (Normal) now Accessible — a new duty has been added to the Duty Finder.
So since I know a few people have likely seen this tossed out before I would like to poke @benes-diction @skyysinger @theaetherhealerffxiv @talechaser-ffxiv @lockeff14 and perhaps @thorcatte and @hoshikagon in case you guys want to read this abomination that I have come up with.
Let’s just make another Unending Coil of Bahamut but essentially put it on crack >>
Boss Fight - Jacques Cresent/Bahamut Fury Number of Phases: Four (Concept with Four Phases on Normal and an additional Fifth Phase on Extreme)
Opening Cutscene: Players will enter an area that reminds them of the Lifestream… after rushing into the center of the Arena Jacques will crash down in front of them with his Spear before standing and spreading his wings before Bahamut floats down behind him and the battle starts.
PHASE 1 - A Families Bonds (We’re learning the Mechanics boys!)
Music - [One Winged Angel - Intense Metal Remix]
youtube
Jacques will be in a form that is similar to that of Nael deus Darnus, and slightly larger than your normal male Au Ra at maximum height in the character creation screen. His weapon is a large four bladed scythe, think of the blades as being similar to the sword that Kadaj from Final Fantasy Advent Children with two blades at the top part of the staff and the other two blades at the bottom. Beside him stands what would appear to be a Demi-Bahamut summon however it lacks the Allagan Technology that the Elder Primal had on his body and appears to have a silver coloration. Jacques features in this phase include three pairs of wings (for a total of 6 wings), his tail being longer and more serpent like and his body having more dragon-esque features to tie into his dragon form that he takes on during Phase 3.
Jacques Cresent - Main Target
Auto Attack - Cleaves
Jacques’ auto attacks have a frontal cleave to them, the main tank should tank Jacques facing away from the Party and Melee DPS should stay to his back while slightly to his left or right side.
Dragonfire Dive
Similar to the Dragoon attack, Jacques will pick one target (Usually a DPS or Healer) and leap towards them driving his scythe into the ground and causing a large explosion that deals medium damage to anyone in the area. Target will be marked with a marker and should move away from the group to avoid causing damage to the rest of the party.
Geirskogul
Similar to the Dragoon attack, Jacques will pick on target (Usually a healer) and turn to face them before launching the attack, this attack does heavy damage to the target and medium damage to anyone in the line of the attack. The attack is designated by a large line AOE Marker on the ground. The target of the attack should move close to the outer edge of the arena and away from other party members to avoid damaging the entire party if they are targeted.
Bahamut’s Claw
Tank buster. This attack hits twice within the first phase of this fight and five times in his final phase.
Bahamut’s Favor
Jacques gains the favor of Bahamut and gains a Damage Up buff which will make his attacks deal more damage. This ability stacks and lasts for roughly 30 seconds. The more stacks on Jacques the more damage he will do and the long the buff will last.
Supernova
Jacques will target two players, namely DPS or Healers (He will never target the tanks with this ability) and shoot a large AOE at them. Players should move to the farthest spot away from Jacques to drop the AOE on the ground. This attack does medium damage to the target and leaves behind a medium sized AOE that will add a Bleed effect to anyone who steps into it as well as does heavy damage to players who step into it.
Will of Bahamut
Tether ability, targets DPS or Healers and causes that player to become seduced by Jacques. Players will attack the party and must be DPS’d down to 25% health before they are released from the Mind Control. While under the Mind Control players will have two stacks of Damage Up on them and have a haste like effect causing them to attack faster.
Demi-Bahamut/Shadow of Bahamut - Untargetable Add
Wyrmwave
Bahamut will target a single player and fire a large fire blast that deals unaspected medium damage to the target.
Deathflare
Bahamut will target a DPS Player with marker that signals the attack, this attack does heavy unaspected damage to the targeted player and deals area wide medium damage to anyone nearby. Targeted player should run away from other players to avoid the AOE damage. During phase two this attack will target two players at first and then as Bahamut is closer to death will target four players.
Akh Morn
Bahamut will select a target at random and hit the target with two blasts of unaspected damage. The first attack does heavy damage while the second attack deal medium damage and will do an area wide burst of damage to anyone within the area around the target. The burst damage from the second damage will deal less damage to each target struck by it. 10% less damage for the second target, 20% less for the second target, 30% less damage for the fourth target, 40% less for the fifth and finally 50% less damage for anyone beyond that.
PHASE 2 - His Return (Fury of Bahamut Add Phase, Small DPS Check Phase)
Music - [ Answers - Metal Cover ]
youtube
Jacques will lunge up into the air and leave the fighting arena at around 75% health. During this phase the Demi-Bahamut will enter the arena and become targetable. This is a small DPS check phase in which players must kill the Add before Jacques absorbs all of the Primals Energy and unleashes a devastating attack. The more energy absorbed, the more damage Jacques will do when he returns to the arena for Phase three. If he absorbs all of the Primals energy then the attack is not survivable and the party will wipe. This fight will contain mechanics similar to the Final Coil of Bahamut Turn 4, with some additional mechanics to keep players on their toes.
Fury of Bahamut - Main Target (DPS Check)
Enkindle Bahamut
Adds a Damage Up buff to Bahamaut and orders it to cast Morn Afah.
Morn Afah
Stacking Mechanic, all players will want to stack to spread the damage of the upcoming attack. This attack will target a random player and deals massive damage to them, if players do not stack then this attack can and will more than likely cause a wipe. It is suggested to use a Tank Limit Break to survive this attack as it will only be cast at the beginning of this phase. Either a Tank LB 2 or Paladin LB 3 are suggested, though with proper damage control a Tank LB1 can work.
Flatten
Tank Buster, deals heavy damage to the main tank.
Flare Breath
A large frontal cone attack that deals heavy damage to anyone standing in front of Bahamut. Tanks should make sure that Bahamut is facing away from the party to avoid damaging the rest of the party.
Megaflare
Bahamut will target four players with medium sized AOE rings, players should move away from the group and towards the outer edge of the arena to avoid damaging the rest of the group. After the initial impact, several meteors will drop in the AOE circle dealing medium damage to anyone who is caught in the attack and stun them for five seconds.
Jacques Cresent - Untargetable Target
Dive Bomb
Jacques will do a dive across the center of the arena dealing medium damage to all players caught in the attack and knocking them back. Players should look for where Jacques comes down and move to the left or right to avoid being struck. Players should be ready to heal immediately after Jacques performs a Dive Bomb to avoid taking too much damage from the upcoming Protostar attack.
Protostar
Jacques will cast this attack immediately after using Dive Bomb. This attack does medium party wide damage to the entire group and should be healed through to avoid potential wipes.
Akh Rhai
Jacques will target two players at random causing the ground beneath them to erupt dealing unavoidable damage and dropping several meteors down on the area. Players should immediately move out of the AOE to avoid the rest of the damage caused by the meteors after taking the initial blast from the attack.
PHASE 3 - The Fury of a Dragon (Jacques Dragon Phase, Healer Check Phase)
Music - [[ Dragonsong - Metal Cover ]]
youtube
Upon absorbing the energy of Bahamut, Jacques will disappear from sight. If he reached maximum energy absorbed then the party will instantly wipe upon Jacques’ return to the Arena. When Jacques returns to the Arena he will be in his dragon form, upon landing Jacques will destroy the entire outer ring of the Arena knocking players back. The wall will turn into a fiery barrier that will instantly kill anyone who comes into contact with it, because of this players must stack in the middle of the Arena before Jacques lands to avoid deaths and another potential wipe. Returning Mechanics include Supernova, Will of Bahamut and Bahamut’s Claw.
Bahamut Fury Jacques - Main Target (AOE Hell Phase, Healer Check)
Morn Afah
Similar to the Phase 2 attack, players must stack to mitigate the damage. Deals less damage during this phase as it is used multiple times by Jacques.
Ahk Rhai
Jacques will now target four players instead of two with this attack. Similar to the attack during Phase 2. Players will want to make sure that they move away from the group to avoid damaging other players.
Akh Morn
Is now a stacking mechanic similar to Morn Afah. Jacques will target one player at random and blast them with five blasts that deal medium damage. Players must stack to mitigate the damage.
Hot Wings
This attack is similar to the ability used by Nidhogg. Jacques will turn to face a random player and have two massive AOE’s that will spawn at his sides, players will want to get under him to avoid taking massive damage from the attack.
Hot Tail
This attack is similar to the ability used by Nidhogg. Jacques will once again turn to face a random player and have a large AOE line down where he is standing. Players will want to move to his sides to avoid taking massive damage from the attack.
Protostar
This attack will now strike three times in a row similar to the ability used by Midgardsormr in Alphascape. Players will want to heal through the attack as quickly as possibly since it is usually followed by either Akh Morn or Morn Afah.
Rake
This ability comes in two flavors. The first of which is a heavy tank buster that deals massive damage to the main tank and must be healed through. The second will be Jacques targeting a random player and slamming his claws down as he stomps across the arena towards that player. The targeted player should run away while making sure Jacques will not strike anyone in his path.
Fireball
Jacques will target a player at random and shoot a massive fireball in their direction dealing heavy damage to the targeted player and splash damage to anyone who is nearby. Players should move away from the group when they are targeted to avoid damaging other members of the party.
Teraflare
Jacques will cast this just before his shift into his final phase. This attack does massive party wide damage. Once cast Jacques will transition and leave the arena leaving players with the chance to heal and recover.
• Dragonsong
Spawns in 2 to 3 adds that must be killed quickly. These adds will tether to Jacques giving him a Damage up Buff and should be pulled away to ensure that the buff is removed. Upon being killed the adds will drop a pool of aether that will give players who are inside of it a Damage Up buff as well as Defense Up buff. This is CRITICAL to have during his final phase.
PHASE 4 - Downfall, Aid of the Keeper (DPS Check, Burn Him Down Fast Phase)
Music - [[ Price of Freedom - FF7:CC ]]
youtube
When Jacques reaches 30% Health he will once again leave the arena, this is when he will begin casting his Ultimate Exaflare (Potentially a new more powerful attack Zettaflare). Upon leaving the Arena players will see Midgardsormr fly in (mount version appearance) and land in the middle bringing up his wings and creating a shield. Players will be pulled into the shield by Midgardsormr but will be able to move once Jacques begins casting his attack. Any player that leaves the barrier will be instantly killed once the attack goes off. After casting his Ultimate, the attack will be reflected back onto Jacques striking him down and stunning him. Jacques will then crash down in the center of the Arena and will be dazed for a total of two minutes in his normal form. This is a HARD DPS check and players must bring him down to 20% of his health otherwise they will wipe. Jacques will have many of his Dragoon attacks and abilities, with the return of Bahamut’s Favor, only a couple new abilities to worry about during this phase. It’s simply a melt him as fast as you can phase.
Jacques Cresent - Normal Au Ra Form (Dragoon Abilities, Hard DPS Check)
Heavy Thrust
Similar to the Dragoon Ability however is a Tank Buster in this case. Deals heavy damage to the Main Tank.
True Thrust Combo (True Thrust < Vorpal Thrust < Full Thrust)
Essentially the Dragoon Combo. Jacques will target a random DPS with this attack dealing medium damage to them.
Impulse Drive Combo (Impulse Drive < Disembowel < Chaos Thrust)
Essentially the Dragoon Combo. Jacques will target a random Tank or DPS with this attack dealing medium damage and apply and Damage Over Time debuff to the target. This debuff can be removed with Esuna and should be removed to avoid the player dying to the damage.
Spineshatter Dive
Similar to the Dragoon Ability. Jacques will target a random healer and leap at them dealing medium damage and stunning them for 10 seconds. This stun can be removed with Esuna and should be removed immediately to avoid potential problems.
Blood of Midgardsormr
This ability is similar to the Blood of the Dragon Dragoon ability. Jacques will cast this at the beginning of the fight and gain the ability to use the abilities Fang and Claw with his True Thrust combo and Wheeling Thrust with his Impulse Drive Combo. Additionally this grants him the ability to use Dragonsong on final time before the fight ends.
Nidhogg’s Sight
Activates his Wyrms Eye granting him the ability to use the move Nastrond instead Geirskogul. Additionally anyone that is struck by Nastrond will receive the vulnerability debuff that lasts for 20 seconds. This debuff should be removed with Esuna to avoid taking too much damage and risking a potential wipe.
Deathstrike
Jacques will target a player at random and mark them with a stacking marker. Players will have to stack to mitigate the damage caused. If players do not stack the entire party will be reduced to 1hp and could be potentially wiped if they are not careful.
Growing Threat
Gauge Mechanic, as the fight goes on Jacques will build up his power to once again transform into his dragon form. If the gauge reaches 100 then he will transform once again and cast Exaflare a final time, wiping the entire party.
Ending Cutscene: Upon his defeat, Midgardsormr will once again enter the arena and land down next to the fallen dragon. Jacques will collapse to the ground, panting heavily while he awaits your final judgement.
Players will be given the chance to speak with Midgardsormr if their bond with the wyrm is strong enough. Speaking to Midgard will give players the option to spare Jacques’ life resulting in a different cutscene upon leaving the dungeon.
If players do not have a strong enough bond with Midgardsormr then the ending cutscene that plays will result in the player having no choice but to kill Jacques since he is a danger to himself and to the world.

Trust NPC | L’mihn Sunwalker
Selection
ARR-SB: “I won’t disappoint!” ShB: “A wise decision, really.”
Job: Evoker (Summoner)
Weapons: Magic, Primal Egis, Summons
AI Behaviour:
L’mihn will always begin any fight by casting Tri-Disaster (+ Bane for mob pulls), and constantly refreshes her damage over time abilities when they run low. During mob pulls she will always make sure every enemy has dots, and mainly uses Garuda-Egi’s abilities with supplementary Ruin IV spam. L’mihn will always use Dreadwyrm Trance and Firebird Trance on cooldown in boss battles, but only uses her trances if mob HP is over 30% in mob pulls. L’mihn will always Addle party wide damage attacks, however for AOEs she is hit or miss. If an AOE targets her while she is casting, she will eat the hit as long as her HP is over 70%, if the boss is pulled out of range due to a mechanic she will always attempt to push the border of the attack in order to keep attacking. During Firebird Trance she will always dodge any attack, regardless of HP.
Battle Lines:
· “Finally a fight.” - Starting Attack Line
· “Ahahaha!” - When Entering Dreadwyrm Trance
· “ We’ll make short work of this.” – Using Special Skill (Summon Bahamut, Summon Pheonix)
· “Rend them to ashes!” – Using Special Skill (Enkindle Pheonix, Enkindle Bahamut)
· “You won’t be needing that.” – When using Energy Drain
Limit Break:
· “Let’s end this.” – Using Skyshard
· “I’ll make sure there’s nothing left!” – Using Starstorm
· “A calamity born anew rises!” – Using Teraflare
KO’d:
· “No…I was so… close…” – Variation 1
· “… How pitiful…” – Variation 2
Revived:
· “Thank you.” – Variation 1
· “It will not happen again.” – Variation 2
Reviving Ally:
· “Well, there is naught to be learned in death, is there?” – Variation 1
· “There’s still work to be done, you know!” – Variation 2
Bonus:
· L’mihn will always make passing comments about the aether in the environment, whether it be stilled or disturbed in some way.
· If the dungeon includes Allagan architecture or aspects of Allagan culture, L’mihn will always make notes of Allagan history and important characters. Basically an Allagan Lore Dump
· Will pause to look at interesting scenery, and if the dungeon involves insects- will entirely stand as far away as possible from the tank.

OOC
So am I wrong in thinking that in the like 12 seconds you’re animation-locked into the crappy summoner limit break level 2, I can probably do more damage with Bahamut? Two of Bahamut’s enkindle is like 1300, plus two casts of fester woven with Ruin is like 800 plus three wyrmwaves from ruin + fester + virus... I dunno. The LB just seems like crap outside of those exceptionally rare circumstances you need to kill a bunch of stuff very quickly, like the old Ifrit thing.
