Come Back- Xavier Thorpe
Summary: After days of ignoring Y/n to focus on Wednesday and the monster after it attacks her, Xavier realizes she’s gone.
Warnings: death, xavier is a bad boyfriend
masterlist
Tumblr media
Xavier sat at Y/n’s bedside every day since she was attacked. She was the first victim, and despite being able to heal herself, the damage was undoing all her body did. Xavier had just told the girl he loved her, he then had to watch her run into his arms, bloodied and broken. He was devastated, blaming himself, saying “It should have been me.”. He was angry at the fact that she had snuck out to see him, he had asked her to.
It had been two weeks since her attack and in that time Wednesday Addams had taken Y/n’s place, not that Xavier noticed. Enid and Yoko would visit Y/n daily, they weren’t sure if you could hear in a coma, but they talked anyways. Enid shared all about her time with Ajax and the date they soon would share. Yoko spoke about how Kent had sabotaged their boat during the Poe cup and if she had been there, she could have controlled the kelp to stop him. Neither of them had spoken to Xavier about Y/n though, assuming he had been going just as much as them. Y/n wasn’t getting better and there were days the nurse wouldn’t allow any visitors; her body was too weak.
It soon hit a month and Xavier had not realized he hadn’t seen Y/n in a while, but she was on his mind constantly. Wednesday had somehow convinced the boy that together they could stop the attacks and catch the monster and its master. The girl grew weaker and weaker, and the last time Yoko visited, she cried on the way out, she knew her friend was almost gone. Y/n’s parents wouldn’t visit, they weren’t the best people and Enid knew, so she made sure to tell Y/n how proud she was and that she loved her every day. The nurse finally told Enid that it was almost time, Enid’s heart broke and she sobbed into Ajax’s arms that night.
Ajax and Enid surrounded the girl. She had hit her lowest point and the nurse told them it was time. Enid was angry that Xavier wasn’t there, Wednesday had said they were going out in search of the Monster. Ajax was also angry at his best friend, there was no way he would leave the girl he had pinned over for 2 years all alone. Enid was holding Y/n hand, a small ivy of flowers left her palm and wrapped around Enid’s wrist. His phone dinged and the nurse looked at him. He just nodded and stepped outside the curtains. Xavier was calling.
“Dude where is everyone?” Xavier spoke, he could hear what sounded like Wednesday’s voice in the background.
“What the fuck Xavier. You know what’s going to happen today and you chose to be with a girl you met last month. What the fuck is going through your head, she can’t fight any more and you know this is the best thing. So why aren’t you here?” The gorgon was pissed.
“Ajax what are you talking about?” Xavier questioned, his heart dropping as he stepped away from Wednesday.
“The nurse told us all last visit, remember? They are taking Y/n off life support.” As soon as Ajax finished, he heard cursing on the other end of the phone and what sounded like sobs.
‘Has it- has it happened?” Xavier’s heart broke, he was struggling to breathe. He thought back onto the past month and realized he had not seen Y/n. He hadn’t seen the nurse for updates, he didn’t know she was this bad. He started hyperventilating as he pictured Y/n all alone. The girl he loved. He looked at Wednesday who had a confused look on her face and became angry at her, she had taken him away from Y/n and it was all his fault.  He thought he could save her.
“It’s happening now.” Was all Ajax said back.
Xavier took off down the hall, leaving a confused Wednesday to wonder why he was crying. He had never run so fast, pushing people out of the way to get to the infirmary. When he arrived, he burst through the doors, at the back was Ajax, in his arms was a sobbing Enid.
“No no no-” He mumbled out, he pushed the curtain open and there she was. She looked peaceful; a flower crown had formed around her head. “No- come back, please come back.” Xavier grabbed her hands, bringing them to his face. A hand squeezed his shoulder, and he knew she was gone. “Come back.” was all he whispered out. He put his head down on the bed, holding her hands, hoping she would wake back up and squeeze his.
“Why?” Enid questioned, her eyes were puffy, but she still glared at the boy. “Why would you leave her all alone, you said you loved her but here you are, running around with Wednesday.”
“I was trying to catch it, I thought I could save her.” Xavier mumbled out, he looked at the girl he loved, and he grew angry at himself. “I should have been here; I should have fucking been here. What is wrong with me.” He began to sob into his hands.
“You’re right. You should have.”

Innocence [Rick Grimes x Reader] Pt. 3
Word Count: 6,539 (it’s so long I’m sorry)
Rick Grimes x Reader
Summary: After almost getting caught in a compromising position, you and Rick decide that you need to tell the group about your relationship.
Warnings: SMUT (hair pulling, slight Dom!Rick, dirty talk), language, embarrassment, fluff, angst, jealousy
PART ONE   PART TWO
Tumblr media
“I’ve missed you,” Rick grins as he picks you up and sets you on the kitchen counter, pressing his lips to your neck. He sucks at the skin lightly, making you want to melt in his arms right then and there.
It’s been a few months into your relationship now, and alone time has been growing more and rarer. Keeping your relationship a secret is one of the hardest things you’ve ever had to do, which Rick has agreed to. You both desperately just want to scream out to the world how much you love each other, but you two both know that it’s not possible.
“I’ve missed you, too.” You moan out as you begin to unbutton your jeans, sliding them down along with your panties.
“I’ll never get tired of this sight.” Rick squats down, getting onto his knees on the floor of the kitchen. “I just wanna be in here all day.”
“Oh, Rick!” You cry out as Rick’s tongue begins to lap at your slit, pleasure radiating through your body. He smirks as he begins to set a faster pace, his hands traveling around to your bare ass as he crouches down underneath you as you sit on the kitchen counter.
Carl was out with Enid for the day, doing who knows what, so you’d be damned if you and Rick didn’t take advantage of that opportunity. It wasn’t often that you two got time together, let alone time alone that wasn’t strictly in the bedroom. Which is why today, when you two had the entire day to be together, you two had wanted an actual date. Not one that just consisted of sex, anyways. But, instead of the romantic and fun-loving day that you and Rick had planned out, here you two are- in the middle of the kitchen as Rick indulges in you. Not that you’re complaining.
You whimper as his scruff rubs up against your inner thighs, enjoying the slight roughness of it all. He suddenly pulls away from you, making you frown, but making up for it by grabbing your right leg and resting it on his shoulder. He moves one hand out from underneath your ass as he enters two fingers inside of you, pumping at a fast rate.
Yours moans grow progressively louder as you reach your hands up into his hair, tugging on it as you can feel your orgasm approaching. Growls escape from his lips as he begins to speed up his motions, curling his fingers up to hit just the right spot.
“Fuck!” You yell out, on the brink of climax. Rick pulls his fingers out instantaneously, sensing that you were getting close.
“Can’t have you coming yet, baby girl. I need to be inside you.” Rick’s fingers dig into your hips as he plants a messy kiss upon your lips.
“Don’t you think we should move this up to the bedroom?” Your hands travel down to Rick’s jeans, which were growing tighter by the second, fiddling with his belt.
“Can’t wait,” Rick breathes out, kicking his jeans off. “Carl ain’t here, aint no one gonna walk in, I’m gonna fuck you right here on this kitchen table. Wouldn’t you like that, my dirty girl?”
“You know I would,” You smirk, your hand reaching out to grasp his length. A small groan escapes from his lips as you run your thumb over the pre-cum that has gathered at the tip. You pump him a few times before he flips you over, your stomach now pressed up against the cold granite.
Rick kisses your shoulder as he uses his hand to line up his cock with your entrance, pushing himself inside you agonizingly slow. He grips your hips as he thrusts in and out of you slowly, enough to make you feel good, but you want more.
Rick knows this, too. Over the several months you and him have been together now, he’s caught on to your urgent need. He likes to tease you, to make you beg him for more. And you’d be lying if you said that you didn’t enjoy it, either.
“Rick, please,” You beg quietly, trying to move your hips up against his to get more friction.
“You don’t want me to go slow? To make sweet love to you?” You can hear the smirk in Rick’s voice, even though you’re faced the other way.
“You know I liked to be fucked hard,” You breathe out. “Please.”
“Like this?” Rick grips your hair in his right hand, his left hand still digging into your hips and most likely going to leave bruises. He pulls on your hair slightly as he quickens up his pace, pumping in and out of you at an animalistic speed.
You moan out at the feeling, your legs becoming noticeably weaker as Rick fucks you senseless. The room is filled with yours and Rick’s moans, accompanied by the wet sounds of him slamming quickly into you.
“Just like that,” You moan out. “Fuck!”
“Fuck, Y/N,” Rick hisses out, his cock twitching inside of you. The familiar feelings of your orgasm approach, your walls clenching around him.
“Yes, yes, yes, Rick!” You cry, on the verge of release.
Just as you’re about to come, you can hear the front door of the house being opened. The sounds of voices flood through the house, making you and Rick stop what you’re doing immediately. Rick pulls out of you, looking at you in panic. You quickly jump off the counter, looking frantically around for your clothing.
You manage to gather up every article of your clothing that you can find before darting off to the bathroom, your heart racing a million miles a minute. Just as you’re about to shut the door, you spot Rick finishing up his belt buckle, his face flushed.
Your mind races as you begin to put your clothes back on, all the bad possibilities entering your mind. Did they hear anything? Carl shouldn’t be back for hours, you know that for sure, so who was it? Why didn’t they knock? Oh, god, hopefully it’s not Maggie. You can only imagine what Maggie would say about her “precious, innocent, baby sister” getting nailed by Rick.
“Hey, Maggie, Glenn.” Rick’s voice comes out shaky.
Of fucking course.
You peek through the crack of the door, looking at the scene unfolding before you. Rick is standing in front of Glenn and Maggie, his shirt still on the floor, his face as red as a tomato. Glenn is smirking at Rick, knowing what was most likely happening before they arrived. Thankfully, though, he hasn’t realized who it was happening with. Maggie, on the other hand, seems clueless as to what she had walked into. She’s just looking at Rick with a straight face, unnoticing of anything unusual.
“Hey, Rick.” You can hear Maggie’s voice respond. “Sorry we didn’t knock, but I’ve been lookin’ for Y/N all day, and I can’t seem to find her anywhere. Didn’t know if you knew where she was.”
“Yes, we will definitely knock next time. Sorry, man.” Glenn coughs out.
“I haven’t seen her, no. Maybe check with Carl?” Rick says, less awkwardly this time. You’re about to close the door and continue getting dressed, confident that Rick has the situation under control, when you notice it.
Your shirt. It’s thrown across the room, only a few feet behind Rick, and easily spottable for Maggie to see. Your heart begins to race, your mouth growing dry. How did you forget to pick up your shirt? How did you not notice that you were missing it when you ran to the bathroom?
Oh, yeah, because you were panicked and running away from your over-protective older sister after she had almost caught Rick fucking you senseless.
“Dammit,” You curse to yourself, praying that she doesn’t notice your shirt. There’s no doubt that she’d recognize it as yours- you do live with her, after all. She’s seen you in it several times.
“I already talked with Carl, he hasn’t seen her either.” You can hear Maggie say.
“I’m sure she’s fine. She’s an adult, she can take care of herself.” Rick shrugs.
“Yeah, I’m just worri- is that Y/N’s shirt?” Maggie’s face drops, and your expression instantly mirrors hers.
“Y’know, Maggie, I think we should go.” Glenn says quickly. His glance travels over to you, and for a split second, you two make eye contact.
You freeze, expecting the worse, but instead of the yelling that you’re expecting, it’s the complete opposite. Glenn’s lips form a slight smirk before tearing his eyes away from you and turning his attention back to (the now growing angry) Maggie. “Yeah, babe, let’s go. I’m sure she’s somewhere else, not here-“
“Why is her shirt here? Why’re you shirtless?” Maggie looks up at Rick, an accusing tone in her voice.
‘Don’t you do it, Rick. Come up with something, think fast. Come on.’ You think to yourself, your nerves growing higher by the minute. Rick’s never struck you as a guy to become flustered in a situation like this, and you’re hoping that your assumptions are correct.
“Oh, she stopped by earlier lookin’ for Carl. She split a drink on herself and Carl had ‘ta lend her a new one. As for my shirt, I was just workin’ outside. Came in here to grab a drink.” Rick says oh-so-nonchalantly.
You’ll admit that you’re impressed by his ability to come up with some bullshit instantly. He certainly did not let you down. You can’t imagine how that conversation with Maggie would go- she’d probably yell at you, telling you that he’s “too old for you” and that you’re “too young to be having sex.” Which, in retrospect, is utter bullshit since she was having sex at your age as well. Twenty is not too young for anything, even if you weren’t living in an apocalyptic world.
The conversation would probably be as bad as what it would be like to tell Carl… Oh, man. You don’t even want to think about that. You know it’s going to have to happen one day, and up until that day comes, you’re going to be a nervous wreck about it.
“Oh… Okay.” Maggie sighs. “I’m sorry, it’s just that she’s the only family I have left, and I worry about her, and she’s still so young, and-“
“It’s alright, Maggie.” Rick nods his head. “I’ll see you two later?”
“See you at the meeting tonight!” Glenn calls out as she rushes him and Maggie out of the door, a weight lifted off your chest. You can’t imagine a more awkward position to be in than what you are right now… except maybe if they had actually walked in on you two. Thankfully Glenn didn’t say a word.
“They’re gone. You can come out now.” Rick calls out, and you breathe a sigh of relief. Finishing putting your jeans back on, you walk back into the kitchen, snatching up your shirt immediately before throwing it back on.
“Jesus Christ, that was close.” You break the silence.
“I don’t know how much longer we can keep this up, Y/N…” Rick trails off. “This is getting complicated. This whole secret relationship. I don’t want this anymore, I don’t want to keep stuff from anyone anymore.”
“So…” Tears begin to form in your eyes. “Are you breaking up with me or something?
“What?” Rick looks bewildered. “Oh, hell no, Y/N. I love you. Come here.”
You walk over to him and he wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you closer into his chest. His right hand travels up to your head, massaging your scalp lightly as your chin rests on his shoulder. You can still feel his fast heartbeat against you, but you’re sure that your heartbeat is mirroring his.
“I’m never gonna break up with you. You’re mine forever.” Rick mumbles, kissing your forehead. “I just don’t wanna keep this a secret anymore. I wanna tell people.”
“You sure?” You look up at him. “But Carl, and Maggie-“
“Carl will come around to it. Maybe not at first, but… Carl loves you like you’re family already. He’ll come around to it eventually. Maggie, well, I love her but she’s just gonna have to deal with it. She has no say in what you do. You’re an adult and you can make your own decisions, and if you choose to be with me, that’s it. That’s what’s gonna happen.”
You smile, his words touching you. He knows how you feel about being treated like a child by everyone, despite being twenty years old. He knows that it bothers you to no end, so the fact that he’s standing up for you makes you happy. He cares about you so much.
“I love you, Rick Grimes. You know that?” You smile, kissing his cheek.
“I had no idea,” Rick smirks, bringing his hand up to your jaw and pulling your face into kiss him. His lips move against yours slowly, not filled with the hunger and lust that you’re used to. It’s romantic and sweet, and it’s your new favorite kind of kiss.
“What’re we going to tell people?” You pull away, your lips still centimeters away from his.
“The truth. That we love each other,” Rick pecks your lips. “And we’re going to be together no matter what.”
“I’m nervous.” You admit. “Everything’s going to change after this. Carl’s going to hate me.”
“I can talk to Carl alone if you want,” Rick suggests.
“No, I think we need to do it together.” You sigh, shaking your head. “He’s my best friend. He’s going to be even more pissed if I’m not there when he finds out.”
“Okay, baby girl, if that’s what you want. We can talk to him after the group meeting tonight.” Rick nods. “Don’t stress, okay? We’ll figure this out.”
“I certainly hope so.”
-
It’s later in the evening, and you’ve only just now arrived back at your house from spending the day with Rick. You were planning on going home after the whole Glenn and Maggie thing, but Rick insisted that you continued with your plans and stayed there with him- he knew that if you went home, all you’d be doing is sitting alone and worrying. Not that he could stop you from being a nervous mess, but at least you were with him and not alone.
Besides, you two had “unfinished business” that you needed to continue from earlier that morning.
Maggie is still out tending to the garden and Glenn was off doing something with Daryl, so you’re currently home alone. You know that won’t last long, though, and that whenever they get home you’ll have to tell them. You know that Glenn isn’t going to freak out- that wasn’t his personality, and besides, he already knows. Unfortunately. Maggie, on the other hand, is what you’re worried about.
You go up to your room, grabbing your clothes to take a shower before the group meeting in the church later on. The last thing you need is to show up smelling like sex.
You turn on the water, adjusting the temperature until it’s just right. You strip off your clothes before stepping into the shower, letting the warm water cascade down your back. It’s relaxing, and much to your surprise, it makes you feel somewhat better about what’s going to happen tonight.
After taking your time to wash your hair and body, you step out of the comfort of the shower, grabbing your towel and wrapping it around your body. You dry yourself off, putting on fresh clothing before stepping out into the hallway.
You can hear voices coming from downstairs, indicating that they’re home. You gulp and take a deep breath, walking down the stairs. Maggie is in the kitchen, making dinner, and Glenn is sitting at the table. Maggie doesn’t even turn around as you walk into the kitchen, but you don’t even bother to say anything about it.
“Hey, Glenn, can we talk?” You walk up to him. He nods in response, getting up from his chair, and you two walk into the living room. “Did you tell her?”
“About you and Rick? Which, by the way, you’ve kept a giant secret.” Glenn gives you a fake stern look, which you know is fake by the smirk that is faintly playing on his lips.
“Yes, about that.” You look over nervously to Maggie, who is seemingly avoiding eye contact with you.
“She already knows, dude.” Glenn shakes his head. “She knew back at the house today. When we were walking out, she said she knew you were in there. But if we’re being honest, I think she knew before today, anyway.”
“Oh, God,” Your cheeks turn red, your face flushing. “How? Did you guys hear anything? That’s so embarrassing!”
“No, didn’t hear you, thank god, but… Maggie’s seen Carl out with Enid or Ron while you’ve claimed to be going over to his house to hang out with him… Yeah. She never knew for sure, though. You just kind of confirmed it today. I kinda figured it out a few months ago at that dinner we had, when Rick was acting all weird at the dinner table and then he just darted after you upstairs-“
“That’s enough!” You cut him off quickly, your cheeks somehow turning redder.
“Sorry. Anyways. I don’t think she’s mad at you, well, I don’t know. She’s been quiet ever since then. But I don’t think she’s too mad. I think she just wants you to be happy. It’s just a little weird for her, you know? Her littlest sister… Sleeping with? In a relationship? What are you guys? Whatever, it’s weird for her learning that her little sister and Rick are a thing.” Glenn rambles on.
“Oh, god. This is so awkward.” You groan out. “I’m mean, we’re… We’re together, yeah. I love him.” You admit, and Glenn’s eyes widen.
“Oh.” He goes silent. “I didn’t realize that you guys were that serious.”
“Surprise?” You say slowly, unsure of how else to respond.
“Well, listen, kid,” Glenn sighs, and you give him a slight glare for using that nickname. “Okay, jeez. Anyways, listen up. Talk to Maggie. You guys just need to sit down and have a conversation.”
“Yeah…” You agree.
“Do it sooner rather than later. Like, now.” Glenn glances over into the other room at Maggie. “Get this damn tension out of the room fast. I can’t stand it.”
“Fine.” You sigh out, gathering up the courage to go talk to Maggie about it.
Maggie is standing by the stove when you enter the kitchen, placing spaghetti noodles into the now boiling water while she hums along to some song you’ve never heard before. If she heard you enter the kitchen, she’s certainly not doing anything about it.
“Hey sis?” You make your presence known.
“Hm?” She responds, still not turning around.
“For fucks sake, Maggie. Stop acting like that.” You snap. You feel slightly bad for saying it in such a rude tone, despite it being your true feelings. This was not supposed to be an angry conversation. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it like that. Can we talk?”
“I don’t know, can we, Y/N?” Maggie turns around, glaring at you. “You certainly didn’t want to talk to me about anything going on in your life. You lied to me, Y/N. You lied and you kept a huge fucking secret from me. The only reason you want to talk now is because I caught you.”
“Yeah, Mags, ‘cause you’re so easy to talk to!” You laugh out sarcastically. “All you do is treat me like a kid and act like I’m incapable of taking care of myself. You and about everyone else here treat me that way, and I’m sick and tired of it. So excuse me for not telling you that I have a boyfriend, who I’m in love with, by the way. He’s amazing and he treats me so well, Maggie. And, to be frank, I don’t give a shit if you approve. You and I both know that Rick is an amazing man.”
Maggie is silent for a few minutes, taking in what you have said. You’ve never really spoken your true feelings out loud before, so this is a first for both of you. You know that you might have been a little harsh, but after years of buildup, you’re just glad that you’re not yelling.
“Does Carl know?” She asks after a few grueling minutes of silence.
“What? All that and you’re asking about Carl?” You ask in confusion.
“He’s your best friend. You’re… dating his father, Y/N. Does he know?”
“No, not yet.” You admit. “We’re going to tell him later.”
“Okay.” Maggie nods. “If you need me, I’ll be here.”
The timer goes off, indicating that the noodles are done, and Maggie quickly turns off the stove. She begins to walk away, not saying one word more, and leaving you standing there frozen and confused. What the hell?
“That’s all you’re going to say?” Your voice cracks as she walks away from you.
“I don’t know what you want me to say, Y/N. You’re right, you’re not a kid. I shouldn’t treat you like one. And if you’re going to be with anyone, I’m glad it’s Rick. He’s a great guy and I know you’re in good hands. I’m certainly not damn happy that you kept it from me, but I accept the relationship. Just please, for god’s sake, don’t have sex with him in the middle of his kitchen when anyone could walk in.”
“Thank you.” You whisper out, a smile forming on your lips. “I needed to hear that. Maybe not the last part, but thank you. I love you, sis.”
“I love you, too. I’ll see you at the meeting, alright?” She smiles softly at you.
“I’ll see you.” You nod. As soon as she’s out of the room, you quickly put on your shoes and run out of the door. You couldn’t be happier with the reaction (or lack thereof) you got from Maggie, as well as the acceptance, and all you want to do is see Rick.
You run over to his house, not bothering to knock as you barge through the front door. You can see him on the couch, Daryl sitting beside him, as they talk animatedly about something you can’t make out.
“Daryl, we’re gonna have to finish this conversation later.” Rick spots you out of the corner of his eye, his eyes instantly brightening up. “I’ll see you at the meetin’.”
“Alright, see ‘ya.” Daryl grunts, getting up from his spot on the couch. He walks past you as he exits through the front door, nodding to you.
As soon as the door closes, you run over to Rick, jumping on his lap. He smiles at you, his hands instantly going to your waist to pull you closer to him. You’re about to kiss him, but to your surprise, he stops you. You frown, confused.
“Carl’s upstairs in his room.” He breathes out. “I want to kiss you, and dammit Y/N you’re temptin’ me, but it’s probably not the smartest idea. We both know how carried away we get.”
“I know.” You sigh out. “I’m just happy right now, you know that? You make me happy. Maggie didn’t freak out like I thought she would.”
“One person down, one to go.” He smiles at you, pecking your lips quickly. “I couldn’t help myself. You look so damn sexy sitting on my lap like that.”
“Maybe we can try it out later…” You whisper in his ear, and his grip on your waist gets tighter. You begin to slowly roll your hips over his, earning a quiet groan from Rick. And much to your surprise, he doesn’t stop you- as a matter of fact, he guides your hips as he makes you go faster.
“Fuck, Y/N, we need to stop.” Rick’s voice strains. “You always get me riled up during the worst times.”
“What’s the fun in it if I don’t?” You smirk, pressing your lips to his neck. Just as you’re about to start kissing him, you can hear Carl’s door upstairs open, making you jump away from Rick.
You quickly get on to your feet, straightening out your outfit before leaving the room. You give Rick a sympathetic look as you head upstairs, “accidentally” running into Carl.
“What’re you doing here?” Carl looks at you surprised.
“Came here to see you.” You lie, smiling at him. “Wanna go read some comics and shit before the meeting starts?”
“Sure.” Carl grins. “We haven’t hung out much lately, it’s been weird. You’ve been MIA. I still swear you’re dating Ron and just not telling me.”
“Or you’ve just been too busy with Enid.” You tease him as you and Carl walk into his room, both going to sit on his bed to read some comics. “But, yeah, it’s been hectic lately. I’m sorry. But anyways, what’s going on with you? Your birthday is next week, right?”
“Yeah.” He grins. “I can’t believe you actually still celebrate those things, anyways. They don’t even matter anymore.”
“Carl, you’re turning eighteen!” You say excitedly. “That does matter! It might be the damn apocalypse but it’s still exciting.”
“You’re such a weirdo.” Carl laughs, tossing you a comic book. You’ve read the exact same one several times before, but it doesn’t matter. It’s the spending time with your best friend that you enjoy.
You frown slightly, realizing that times like this might not happen anymore once you and Rick become public. Everything is going to change drastically, and you’re not sure if it’s going to be for the better or for the worse.
You look over at Carl and smile, taking everything in. This is probably the last time that you and Carl will ever hang out like this ever again, and it’s slightly heartbreaking. You’ve been best friends ever since they showed up at your farm all those years ago.
“Hey, Carl?” You whisper out.
“Yeah?”
“Thank you for being a great friend.”
Carl looks surprised by your words, obviously not expecting you to say that. “You’re welcome, I guess? Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” You smile. “I just don’t ever want to lose our friendship, is all.”
“That’ll never happen.” Carl shakes his head. “I’ll always be here, just like I know you’ll always be here. No matter what happens.”
“Yeah, no matter what.” You say weakly, and you begin to start reading the comic to distract yourself.
A soft knock on the door to Carl’s room tears you away from your reading. The door is opened to reveal Rick standing there, an unreadable expression on his face.
“Unless you guys are planning on staying here, we gotta go. Meeting’s in five minutes.” He says, motioning for you two to get up. You close your page in your comic, getting up off the bed and heading out the door, Carl following closely behind you.
“What’s this meeting even about?” You question Rick as you and Carl follow him to the church.
“Strengthening the walls and the threat of the Wolves. Deanna and Aaron have some things they wanna say too, I don’t know exactly what.” Rick shrugs.
“So, probably just more shit about Deanna wanting to throw parties and recruiting stuff with Aaron. That’s great.” You say sarcastically. “Because what we really need right now is to focus on parties.”
“Just let her talk about her thing and then we can move on. I know you aint a fan of her or Spencer, but she can’t possibly talk for more than five minutes, so you’ll live, bab- Y/N.” Rick quickly corrects himself, but not quickly enough for Carl to not notice.
He gives you two a weird look, but thankfully for the both of you, he doesn’t say a word.
No more than two minutes later, you’ve arrived at the church. Everyone is walking around and talking to each other, waiting for Rick to arrive, you assume. You three take seats in the front, with Carl on one side of you and Rick on the other, while Deanna walks up to the front and begins to speak.
While she drones on about whatever (you’re not listening), you notice Maggie and Glenn sitting a few rows behind you. They both smile when they see you, and Maggie mouths, ‘Have you told Carl yet?’
You shake your head, and she frowns. You turn back around to face the front, hearing that Deanna is done talking, and Rick begins to walk up to the front to speak. He talks about strengthening the walls and what we can do for that, as well as the Wolves. They haven’t been too big of a problem yet, but the threat is there, and Rick knows he has to do something about it.
You love seeing him like this, when he’s in his “Leader Rick” mode. It’s insanely attractive to you and it makes you want to do nothing more than to climb onto his lap and fuck him.
“What is going on with you?” Carl whispers into your ear.
“Hm?” You say back quietly.
“You’re just acting weird lately. I feel like I don’t know who you are anymore.”
“That’s harsh.” You glare at him.
“Never mind, I don’t know. I’m overthinking things.” Carl shakes his head. “It just almost seems like-“
Carl is cut off by the sound of everyone clapping (who knows what about- you were too focused on listening to Carl), and doesn’t finish what he was saying. Rick sits back down next to you, his hand brushing your thigh ever so slightly before retracting it back.
After Aaron finishes speaking, the meeting is over and everyone goes back to socializing. You want nothing more than to finish that conversation with Carl, to know what he was going to say, but before you get the chance, Spencer runs over to you and hands you a glass of water.
“Hey, Y/N.” He smiles at you. You give him a weary smile, unsure of how to respond. He’s never been shy about flirting with you, and every time he does, you always let him down. You’ve never once shown interest in him, but he keeps on.
You think he would have learned after all the threatening glares that he’s received from Rick, but the man doesn’t stop.
“Hi.” You say simply, looking around for Rick. He’s in the corner talking to Deanna, but his eyes are glued to yours the entire time. You can see the anger growing in him from over here.
“So, I was thinking,” Spencer begins, a big smile still plastered on his face. “I can’t exactly take you on a date around here, but wanna come over? Have some drinks? You’re not twenty-one yet, but I won’t tell.” He winks.
“Not interested.” You grimace.
“You sure?” Spencer’s hand reaches out to touch your waist, and this was when Rick lost it. He abandons his conversation with Deanna, stomping over to you and shoving Spencer away.
“Don’t fucking touch her. She said she aint interested, leave her alone.” Rick grits through his teeth, everyone in the room now staring at the events unfolding in front of him. You can see Carl get a look of “oh shit” on his face, realizing what’s going on. Realizing why this was going on.
“Hey now, Rick,” Spencer puts his hands up. “I think she can make her own decisions here. What are you, her boyfriend?”
Instead of responding, Rick lifts up his fist, punching Spencer right in his jaw. You gasp as you watch Spencer stumble to the floor, everyone running over to pull Rick away.
Rick looks down at Spencer, shaking his head before walking over to you and grabbing your hand. He leads you away from the crowd, leaving you speechless. Did that seriously just happen?
“Well, I guess the cats out of the bag, huh?” You try and lighten the mood once you and Rick are outside. He brings his hands to his temples, trying to calm himself down.
“I’m sorry.” He breathes out. “He touched you and that shit is not okay. You’re mine.”
“I am yours, Rick.” You pick his head up with your hand. His eyes instantly soften when they meet yours, his anger melting away. “So you don’t ever have to worry about anyone else taking me.”
You press your lips against his, knowing damn well that anyone could walk out. It’s not like they didn’t know, now, anyways. Your lips move together in perfect sync, his hands moving up to your jaw to cup your cheeks as he brings you closer.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” A voice breaks you to from your kiss. You look in the direction of the voice and see Carl standing there, a mixture of confusion and anger on his face.
“Carl-“ Rick begins, but Carl holds up his finger, motioning for him to not talk.
“Are you fucking kidding?” Carl repeats. “Seriously?”
“I think we need to talk.” You say quietly, and Rick nods.
“Understatement of the fucking year.” Carl says dumbfounded. You give Rick a look of worry as he shakes his head, a look of panic spread across his face.
You three walk back to their house, and your heart is racing. This was not how you wanted Carl to find out. You’re sure the conversation would’ve gone south regardless, but you’re almost positive that this will make it worse.
You walk into their house, each of you taking a seat on the couch. You three sit there in silence, waiting for someone to break the extremely uncomfortable silence. It’s almost suffocating.
“So, how long have you two been fucking?” Carl says angrily, breaking the silence.
“Carl, it’s not like that.” You sigh out.
“So you’re not having sex with my dad?” Carl looks grossed out. “Because I swear to God, if either of you lies to me one more time, I’m going to live with Carol.”
“No, I mean… Yes.” You say awkwardly.
“Oh god…” Carl mumbles.
“Carl, it aint like that.” Rick steps in. “We’re together. We love each other. And I would appreciate if you started to work on accepting that, ‘cause we aren’t breaking up.”
“I, uh,” Carl stumbles over his room. “I’ve got to go.”
Carl gets up off the couch, running upstairs and into his room. You begin to run after him, but Rick stops you, sighing. You frown, but don’t go after Carl. You know that Rick was right to stop you- there’s nothing you can do or say right now that will make him calm down. That was a lot to spring on him.
“Give him time.” Rick mumbles. “He’ll come around.”
“I hope so.” You whisper. Rick reaches out and pulls you into him, you both now sitting beside each other on the couch while his arms are wrapped around you. You don’t know how long you’re sitting there, wrapped up in his arms, but it’s comforting. You don’t know how this will all end, but right now, you feel at peace.
“I love you, no matter what.” Rick kisses your forehead.
“I love you.” You snuggle further into him.
A few moments later, you can hear Carl’s door opening and his footsteps coming down the stairs. You sit up from Rick, waiting for Carl to come into the living room.
“Are you guys decent?” Carl’s voice cracks.
“Yeah.” You sigh out. “We knew you were upstairs. We wouldn’t do anything while you’re here, you shouldn’t even need to ask that.”
“You’re right. I shouldn’t need to ask that.” Carl enters the living room, taking a seat on the cushion the furthest away from you two.
“Carl, I’m sorry we didn’t tell you.” Rick sighs out. “But you have to understand why we did.”
“Oh, I get why you did.” Carl frowns. “Look, I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be mean or anything… This is just weird for me. Really weird for me. I mean, my best friend and my dad…”
“Yeah, I know.” You say. “I’m sorry, Carl.”
“I don’t have to start calling you Mom, right?” Carl looks over at you, panicked.
“Oh, oh god, no.” You shake your head furiously. “I don’t want anything to change between us, Carl. When we were sitting in your room earlier, and I said I never wanted us to lose our friendship, I meant it. I still want to be here and be your best friend.”
“It’s never going to be the same, Y/N. You’re dating my dad. But, I mean… I guess that explains why the two of you have been so happy lately. I really did think you were dating Ron.” Carl laughs softly at that last part. “Boy, was I wrong.”
“You said it yourself, son. We’re happy.” Rick glances down at you. “I get why you’re upset, but please try and at least try to accept this.”
“Okay.” Carl says after a few moments. “I can’t say I’m entirely comfortable with it, but okay.”
“Thank you.” You whisper out. Carl smiles weakly at you before standing up and beginning to walk out of the room, about to head out the door. Before he opens the door, he turns around, looking at you.
“You’re still my best friend,” Carl says slowly. “Things won’t ever be the same, but I still stand by what I said earlier. We’ll always be here for each other.”
Carl exits through the door, leaving you and Rick alone in the house. Rick looks down at you, a smile plastered on his face. He leans down and pecks your lips, staring at you like you’re the light of his world.
“I think that went well.” He says.
“No more secrets.” You smile. “No more lies.” You peck his lips. “We managed to tell everyone about us with only one fist fight and one verbal fight involved. I think we did pretty good.”
“Serves Spencer right.” Rick scoffs. “Dickhead had it coming to him, eye-fucking you every time you came around.”
“Like I said earlier, babe.” You grin out. “I’m yours; only yours. Always and forever.”
“And I couldn’t be happier.” Rick presses his lips against yours.
In this moment, you know that this is it. Rick is it for you- he’s the one. You’re no longer the innocent, little girl that you were when you met him. You’re not longer the frustrated, sex crazy, nineteen-year-old girl you were when you and Rick had first gotten together. No, you’re not that anymore. You’re Rick’s girl who’s madly in love with him, despite the risks that came along with that. You’re the girl who overcame her fears to be with the man you love.
And you’ve got to say- you like this girl a whole lot more.
@grimes-slut hope you liked it :)
