✧warnings: Yandere/toxic themes, kidnapping, death
♡synopsis: Lee Heeseung loved the feeling of falling in love, wanting to kill or die for a girl he knows would stay loyal to him. He got unlucky thrice, the three cheaters now rotting 6 feet underground, post mortem reports manipulated. Then he laid his eyes on her. Y/n. A girl looking for not just love, but commitment, someone she can trust blindly, knowing he'll be there for her. A match made in heaven right? too bad for her, he's a fucking psycho.
✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡⁺₊⋆☾⋆⁺₊♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧
Y/n sat at the café table Criminology book open before her, Laptop just beside, her jaw rested on her palm. A large Matcha bubble tea that was barely halfway finished as she loved to drink expensive drinks like this, slowly. She had been taking notes of what she believes she needs to remember for her exam. 2 hours of revising, and she found herself getting distracted. "Baby I'll be home before you know it, yeah just at work right now" a male said into his phone, hanging up straight after.
Infront of him, another girl too a seat, a sweet smile, looking at him as if he's her world, he leaned into kiss her. Men. so fucking un loyal. Why is it so hard to find a man who could do the bare minimum and not expect something? Was she asking for too much?. the girl heaved a sigh to herself, feeling bad for whoever the unlucky girl was. She got on with typing her notes, not even getting distracted by a rather pretty man who had walked in.
However he was immediately captivated by her beauty. Black hair, a few blonde pale highlights, glossy lips, long lashes, and a very attractive sense in style. One would take a look at her and assume she's some rebellious teenager, only Heeseung saw a girl waiting to be loved, to be held in his safe arms, someone looking for her soulmate. He wants her, he needs her, I mean she's literally made just for him.
Lucky for him, most tables were full, he ordered a drink as he approached her "excuse me... you don't mind me sitting next to you do you?... all the other tables are well... full-" Heeseung said as y/n looked around. There were some empty tables, but she was a bit socially awkward around strangers, not wanting to get on the strangers bad side, she nodded with a soft smile, moving over a little. Heeseung sat beside her, leaving plenty of space. He took out his laptop as he got on with his work. Eventually she went to the restroom, leaving her phone behind with him. Using the little time he had, he bugged her phone and placed it just where it was before.
Since that day, he kept track of all of the people she knew. The girl was walking home one day, looking over her shoulder every few minutes, trying to shake off the feeling that someone was following her. It was late at night, she lives alone, the last thing she needs is to lure a demon into her safe space. So she decided to make sure of that, assuming that singing and vibing to the music she was listening to as she skipped home would de-attract any potential stalkers.
Heeseung found it cute seeing how she was really getting into her music. See to him, he assumed she was acting as if she was in a music video, just because she thought no one was around. She's just so fucking cute in his eyes. So fucking cute. Especially when she's begging and crying, her little brain trying it's best to process what was going on.
Heeseung made a little pouty face as he bent down to her level. He just kidnapped her, the girl now tied up in his basement, her mascara-tear stained face in his view. He wiped away her tears as he planted a soft kiss on her lips. "Oh don't cry pretty baby... I'm only here to protect you... I love you y/n and I know you will love me. but for that you need to stay at home with me." He explained.
5 days had passed since then. Y/n was stick in this ginormous palace-like mansion. Stunning, intricate designs in the walls, golden patterns in the roof, an elegant, dazzling chandelier in the centre of the room. Heeseung was too sweet, he's everything she needs but dangerous. He's fucking perfect, but a sick psycho. Y/n feels herself falling for him, yet she fears him.
Heeseung smiles when he sees y/n, her eyes scanning the window with a pout. There was a little bunny in the garden and y/n wanted to play with it, but now that bunny was no more, either it's been hunted down or it found a better place to graze. "Sweetheart... come here I have something for you" Heeseung called out as y/n silently walked over to him. The man slipped the opaque sheet off of a pretty big square-shaped item.
The item was a fairly big bunny cage, with 2 little fluffy bunnies, one white and one had brown spots. Y/n audibly gasped as she squealed "So so cute!!!!" she said smiling, the girl hugged him tightly as Heeseung smiled, hugging her back, kissing her forehead as she blushed at his acts. He's the one. Others may call her crazy for falling for a kidnapper... but how could she not? in a world full of whores and cheaters, this man seems so... human.
"c'mere bunny~" y/n cooed softly as the small white bunny that was at Heeseung's foot. She stroked the spotty one, playing with his ears. "I'm going to call you.... Rocky!... then I'll call her Reena, because Rocky and Reena are a couple!" she said with a smile. Heeseung snickerred finding her so sweet, her love for animals being so intriguing to him.
Y/n rested upon Heeseung's chest. He had killed quite a few men on the streets today, but you found it romantic, he killed those perverted catcallers just for you. "Baby... I want a pet baby pig" y/n pouted as Heeseung snickerred "I think that's impossible sweetie, we can visit a petting zoo, but I doubt they'd like us since we did eat pork today..." He pointed out as y/n giggled, her eyes meeting his. They kissed, the sickeningly sweet, addictive taste of his saliva filling her mouth. Never has she ever felt so loved before...
✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡⁺₊⋆☾⋆⁺₊♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧

Hii! HAPPY NEW YEAR!🥳💗
Could I please request an Enha mafia reaction where someone drugs your drink
Hope you stay healthy & happy this year💛🧡
hii happy new year, ty, you too sweetheart 🥳🤍🤍 !! <3 & sorry for the late reply I had already fallen asleep before I got this
(ignore how hee & sunoo’s pics don’t match lol)
warnings; yandere/mafia themes, drugging, possessiveness, violence, murder, swearing, overprotectiveness, fighting, misogyny/predatory men, indications of attempted SA
mafia!enha - reaction to someone drugging your drink
Jungwon
He was angry but controlled, knowing that making a scene could have consequences for the future. Silently he managed to keep an eye on you while finishing the business deal in the crowded cubicle he was in; and when he saw your head starting to drop and your eyelids fluttering shut, he told his guards to carry you out to his car.
Calm and composed, he walked out after about an hour of socially drinking with his business partners, so as to not alert the others that something was wrong.
While home Jungwon tucked you in and shushed you when you woke up. With his sharp eyes, he noticed one of the nasty men eying you in the bar, so he knew exactly who it was.
'' Baby you need to be quiet, it's very late, '' he whispered and put a hand over your mouth.
His other hand patted the covers in a soothing manner.
'' Can you do that for me? ''
You nodded, but couldn't help the whine that slipped past your lips when he pulled away and stood up.
'' You're leaving? ''
Something glimmered in his eyes and he smirked. '' I have something to do. But it won't take long. ''
One more time, he came to the bed and kissed your forehead before leaving to take care of the guy. Since he was calculated and precise, he'd never be suspected, and the body? Never to be found.
Heeseung
He was visibly seething and threw the drink into a plant. You barely knew what was going on since you hadn’t caught the guy slipping by your table.
Heeseung took your hand and dragged you home without explaining himself. He shut you into a room, locked it, and set a timer.
With his leg bouncing anxiously he ignored your screams for him to let you out of the room.
When the timer went off he opened it and pulled you into his arms, sighing in relief.
“ What the fuck was that? “ you pulled away from him, eyes shooting daggers.
“ I wasn’t sure if you had already had some. “
“ Some what…alcohol? “
“ A guy drugged your drink. I didn’t see him until after, but my bodyguard did. “
Your mouth fell open, and for a moment you struggled to speak as shock overwhelmed you. Once you regained your consciousness, another question popped into your head.
“ Why did you lock me in though? “
“ I don’t- “ his forehead creased and he almost looked like thinking hurt his head, “ It just seemed the most logical, in case you’d try to leave. “
Sometimes you didn’t understand his reasoning at all. Every decision regarding you seemed to be done purely on paranoia or a ‘ hunch ‘ he couldn’t explain.
“ Now sweetheart, tell me - how do you want me to kill him? “
Jay
He was furious on the inside but it was hard to notice at first glance. It had all happened so quickly; Jay went to the bathroom and during those three minutes, a man had struck up a conversation with you while his friend sprinkled the drug in your glass.
From afar, he could spot the men and immediately grew angry with jealousy. The first thing he did when reaching the table was to grab the man hard by the arm and pull him up on his feet.
He spitefully spat out, '' Fuck you, '' under his breath.
The men's eyes widened when they recognized him and they scurried away. He had quite the reputation on the street. Possessive, crazy, psycho, madly in love - were all things he'd heard people say about him before.
'' Are you okay? ''
You hesitated, scared that he was angry at you too, and would accuse you of cheating on him. Jay picked up on your difficulty in forming words.
'' Did they hurt you? ''
Your tense shoulders relaxed. So he wasn't angry at you.
'' No, I'm okay. ''
You picked up the glass and sipped on it, still feeling a bit shaken up from the incident, but also feeling much better now that your boyfriend relaxed and had given you a warm smile.
After the pair of you had recovered, everyone at the table started talking again. You just sat back quietly while drinking shyly. Not being much of a talker meant you mostly just listened while Jay, who was incredibly charming, talked to anyone and everyone.
It got harder to focus on the conversation. Your head had started spinning and you cursed yourself for having the bad habit of drinking whenever you felt awkward in social settings.
It always lead to you getting drunk way too quickly.
When Jay felt you lean on him because your head was getting heavier and dizzier by the second, he got concerned. It had only been about five minutes since you started sipping on the drink.
He brought out the drink spike tester he forced you to carry around in your handbag just in case, being very grateful for it now.
Immediately it changed color, it was exactly as he had expected, your drink had been spiked. His usual stoic expression would reappear on his face while he processed the situation and tried to come up with a plan.
In the end, he decided to tell his men to ambush the building of another gang, since he recognized one of the men as a part of a rival gang.
They'd do some damage, but nothing too serious. It was well known that the quote ' an eye for an eye ' was held in high regard in the business. However, if he went too far, they'd return for revenge.
While his men left for their mission, Jay took you to a quieter part of the bar, where usually only V.I.P customers were allowed. There he laid your head in his lap and kept a close eye on you.
'' I'm so sorry, '' he mumbled, as guilt had started to take a hold of him.
Jake
Jake had never been that angry before. He was basically shaking with anger and his eyes darted from person to person.
“ Who the fuck was it? “
The bar fell silent. With bated breaths, everyone watched how his eyes zeroed in on an older guy sitting in the far corner. His heavy steps alerted the man that someone was approaching, but he didn't seem too alarmed. A small smile even played on his lips as he looked over his shoulder.
'' Was it you? ''
The man laughed mockingly. '' What? ''
'' Who drugged my girlfriend, you sick fuck! ''
'' If you didn't want her to be taken, you should've guarded her better. She was basically begging to be fucked, sitting there all alone while you paid her no attention, '' he shrugged.
Jake turned towards you. It stung that he had been too late. Your slumped-over form was the first thing he noticed when he went back to your table to give you a new drink.
He hadn't even been on a mission. It was the weekend and he just wanted to take his girlfriend out for some drinks since he'd been busy almost all week and barely seen her.
Clenching his teeth he turned back. Seeing you sleeping so soundly and innocently had convinced Jake. He kept thinking about what that man would do to you if he was alone with you.
So, overcome with emotion he swung his fist and hit the man right in the jaw. He screamed out and jumped back, causing him to fall off the bar stool.
Jake wasted no time in climbing on top of him and started delivering blow after blow, not even stopping after his knuckles were covered in blood.
He knew very well how much you hated when he used violence. Good thing you couldn't see him; that man would not be able to walk once he was done with him.
Sunghoon
You were the one who freaked out the most, not him. In fact, to you, he almost seemed too callous.
In a slow and monotone voice, he asked questions like he was a detective trying to solve a murder. At no point did he show much concern for your worsening state as the drug was causing you to feel sleepiness take over your body.
You sat down when it became very strong. Sunghoon just looked down at you and he ticked his tongue, telling you he was slightly irritated.
'' You didn't tell me who it was. ''
'' Is that really important now? '' you almost shouted.
He took a warning step in your direction to shut you up, which you did. Sometimes he upset you greatly by being too logical. He wasn't the type to comfort someone if they were crying. Instead, he'd want to solve whatever problem was causing them to be sad.
'' Tell me,'' he demanded.
You pointed to your friend group. Sunghoon had only been a few blocks away when you called him to say you thought your drink had been spiked. He came rushing over, cheeks flushed, and went straight to work.
As soon as your eyes met, you knew you didn't really want to tell him. In the past when someone had done something to you, you couldn't help but question if he used some dirty methods.
'' Which one? ''
His eyes scanned your friends. It had been the boyfriend of one of your friends, someone you hadn't met before. You bit on your lip, not wanting to cause any trouble.
'' The man with the hat, '' you quietly said, knowing that Sunghoon wouldn't give up until you told him.
'' Go wait with Heeseung. ''
'' What? Why? ''
'' I'm not gonna deal with your brattiness now. Go. ''
You walked to where you knew Sunghoon and his friends had hung out. The last thing you saw was your boyfriend approaching the group. You had a very bad feeling in your stomach.
Sunoo
He was panicking but tried to put on a strong front for you. His hand stroked the back of your head comfortingly.
'' It's okay. I'm here if you fall asleep. I won't let anyone hurt you. ''
His soft, lulling voice made your body relax and you started to lean against him. When he felt you fall asleep, his anxiety levels doubled.
He had no idea what to do. Should he be calm and try to construct a revenge plan later? Should he do it now? Or should he use an equally violent method to whoever had hurt his darling?
It was the bartender who had drugged your drink so he felt very awkward about confronting him. Instead, he discreetly called the cops and aided them in the investigation by giving statements and proof.
You slept through it all, only waking up when you'd been transported home. Immediately upon opening your eyes, you flinched away from Sunoo who was sitting on the bed watching over you.
It hadn't been long since he kidnapped you after falling in love at first sight while being out one night on a mission. You had never let your guard down around him, so knowing he had been around you as you slept, deeply unsettled you.
'' What did you do to me? You freak! '' you spat out and backed away.
He looked hurt. '' Nothing. I didn't drug you. ''
'' I was...drugged? ''
He nodded carefully and created some space between the two of you. At a loss for words with your brain being confused, he filled in the gaps for you.
'' I watched over you so no one would hurt you. ''
Maybe he wasn't as bad as you thought.
Ni-ki
He quickly made a decision then and there as he was incredibly skilled at coming up with plans on the spot.
After checking on you, he was relieved to find out you hadn't drunk any of it. But that didn't stop him from burning up with rage on the inside.
On the outside, however, he was cool and controlled. Slowly he pieced together a plan and when it was done he went right into it, putting his best actor face on.
'' Did you just touch my girlfriend? '' his voice raised purposefully to catch the attention of the others.
The man looked confused and scared. He stammered as his eyes inspected his opponent.
'' What do you mean? I didn't do anything! ''
People had started whispering. It became impossible for the man to escape the dirty looks that were thrown his way. Knowing he was innocent of what he was accused of, the man grew panicked.
'' No, please! Don't believe him. He's lying. ''
Ni-ki held back the smirk he wanted to show him. He very quickly realized that to get revenge and ruin the man's reputation, he needed something stronger. Saying he drugged your drink when there was no proof and you hadn't even drunk it wasn't very smart.
You sat in the middle of the room, feeling like you were under a spotlight, even if no one paid any attention. Just like you, their eyes were glued to the two men.
Your face began to mirror the man's - horror, as it finally settled in what he was trying to do, and even more so at the fact that it was working.
People were getting louder, someone pressed a phone to their ear to presumably get help. But, most notably, the man had so quickly been seen as a virus. No one wanted to go close to him.
Satisfied, Ni-ki managed to slip out unnoticed and he pulled you up on your feet.
'' Didn't I do well, baby? '' he boasted devilishly.

spoiler under the cut!
ㅤ"fuck, press them tighter together, yeah just like that.." heeseung's head was thrown back, laying at the edge of the bed. finally having his fun with that 'busty' maid he had mentioned earlier to sunghoon. her breasts were out, pushing them together with her hands for heeseung's cock to fit between.
ㅤlittle noises of struggle come from her throat, trying her best for the male in front of him. though it would seem she was a.. top position, she was too shy for it—and heeseung was loving every second. "i should cum on your face when you look at me so shyly like that." he says, caressing her face with his hard hand.
ㅤ"uh-uh.." she hesitantly shook her head, disagreeing. "what d'you mean uh-uh? i'll do whatever the fuck i want." heeseung says with a burning glare, 'the audacity she has to disagree with me? i'll teach you your place..' he clicked his tongue, mean thoughts behind his amused eyes.
ㅤheeseung pushes the maid away, causing her to fall from her knees onto her bum. he towered over her, grabbing her hair and pulling her onto her knees once again. "open." in a stern voice, heeseung ordered. "i'll show you what uh-uh means to me." in a second, heeseung slammed his hips into her face. balls deep down her throat, and not even feeling bad about it. instead, he groaned a guttural groan—one of pleasure.
ㅤ"fuck, i knew your throat would feel good.."
ㅤ"shit, hyung this is my second time walking in on one of you guys having a maid at your dicks!" jay groans, covering his eyes. "poor you, get out then." heeseung smirked at jay, purposely pulling out of the maid's mouth. crouching down a little to check out her─as heeseung would say─huge tits. "unless you wanna watch~" he chuckled deeply, standing back up before thrusting back into her mouth.
ㅤher gags bounced off the walls and traveled to jay's ears. having heard enough, he slammed the door closed but still felt bad for the poor maid who was getting her throat filled by the older. "he's just like sunghoon, i swear. maybe worse." jay sighs, strolling down the hall with his hands in his pockets.

Jaeyun had done a fantastic job of choosing your attorney. Stella, a tall, slim woman with bright red hair in her late twenties, is sought out by rich business owners who often find themselves in legal trouble. Though she's only a few years older than you and relatively new to law, she exudes an air of high maintenance and smugness.
Stella takes her seat beside you, her smile unwavering, followed by the officers who had made a spectacle of arresting you in public for all of Korea to see. They settle across from you, letting a beat pass before they begin questioning you again.
"Mrs. Sim," the detective begins, his tone formal, "we need to ask you a few questions regarding your whereabouts during the time of the chief's death."
You swallow hard, glancing briefly at Stella, who gives you a reassuring nod and a cheerful wink. "I was at home with my husband," you reply steadily.
The officer who arrested you, Taehyun, leans forward slightly. "Can anyone else confirm that?"
You take a deep breath, trying to keep your voice calm. "Yes, our staff can confirm it. We were together all evening."
The detective scribbles something in his notebook. "Can you provide any more details about your evening? Any visitors? Any phone calls?"
You think back, trying to recall anything that might help. "We had dinner together. No visitors, no phone calls that I can remember."
Stella interjects, her voice bright and confident. "My client has already provided her alibi. Unless you have further evidence to suggest otherwise, we see no reason for this continued detention."
Officer Kang ignores Stella. “Mrs. Sim, you do understand that the evidence against you is pretty damning, right?”
You don’t say a word.
The detective and officer share a look. “The chief was last seen having lunch with you a week prior to his disappearance. Care to explain?”
Stella scoffs with a playful roll of her eyes. “What’s wrong with going out to eat with an associate? Haven’t you done it before, detective?”
Detective Choi tisks but disregards Stella’s comment. He places a sheet of paper on the table and twists it so you have a clear view. “You were the last person Chief Minho called,” he says, placing down two other call logs. “You also seemed to share multiple calls dating back to before you even announced your engagement to Sim Jaeyun.”
You frown. “Impossible,” you mutter as you look down at the call logs. Taehyun uses this as an opportunity to sink his claws into you.
“Impossible? Why do you say that?”
Stella places a hand on your shoulder and encourages you not to answer, but you’re too out of it to comply. “I mean, yeah, we’ve called each other a few times, but I can’t be the last person he called.”
Yeonjun hums. “Is that so?”
Stella hisses, “Do not engage with them, ____.”
You shrug her off. “The call logs have to be wrong, maybe even doctored. I remember this date,” you say as you point to it. “It was yesterday. My husband took me to the museum that day. I didn’t get a call from the chief, just a call from an unk—” You cut yourself off as you realize exactly who called you from the unknown number yesterday. “That son of a bitch!” you hiss. It was the chief. It makes sense. Whoever killed him did a hell of a job making sure all fingers would point back to you.
Yeonjun smirks and sinks back into his seat. “The museum, huh? Thought you were at home with your husband?”
You gape at the detective as you realize the hole you’ve dug yourself into. You and Jake spent that night at his safe house, there’s no CCTV of you ever making it back home from the museum. Seeing as these cops are hellbent on putting you away they can easily check the street camera to see when you made it home.
“They went to the museum in the morning and spent their afternoon at home. What are you getting at, Yeonjun?” Stella asks, her voice lilting with mock curiosity.
His eyes flicker to your defense attorney before he turns back to you. “Are you happy with your marriage, ____?”
Your body freezes at the question. Are you happy? You entered your engagement and marriage indifferently, angry at the world for where you had ended up. But things are different now. You’re falling in love with Jaeyun; he’s made you incredibly happy in these short few weeks. Maybe you’re beginning to become content with where you are now?
“What does my client’s marriage have to do with the murder charges against her?”
“The FBI has an ongoing case against your husband. I assume murder isn’t below him just as it isn’t below you. I suspect you were having an affair with the Chief, wanted to make things official, but he didn’t seeing as you were getting married. In a fit of rage, you killed him. Your husband, who’s madly in love with you, then proceeded to cover up your crimes.”
You feel a dull throb in your temple. You have no doubt you'll have a migraine by the time you leave this interrogation room.
“Stop badgering my client; this is all speculation.”
Detective Choi doesn’t stop. “We understand the chief owed your family money?”
You nod. “Yes.”
The bastard had upped his bribe fee once it was announced that Sungchan would be taking over but never followed up on his half of the deal. Sungchan had asked you what he should do two days before your wedding, but you told him you would take care of it and arranged to meet Minho the next night.
You’re willing to bet that the pictures they claim to have of the two of you out to lunch are probably of you two in a heated argument over when he would uphold his half of the deal. Either that or he’d pay back the money. Taehyun flips through pages of paper on his clipboard.
“That’s motive.”
You raise an eyebrow. Motive? “Stop stating false claims. I didn’t kill him.”
Taehyun ignores you. “Okay, I believe you. You weren’t having an affair, but you thought you could get an upper hand on your father who handed the company over to your brother when it should have been yours. You figured if you couldn’t have the company, you could at least get away with the money. You met with the chief for lunch to discuss a payment plan for what he owed your father, but when he refused to give you the money, you stormed to his home and killed him, then had your husband cover it up.”
You let out a dry laugh. They think you're envious of Sungchan? If anything, you pity your elder brother. You despise that company with your whole being. “You think I want the company? It can burn to the ground for all I care. As for the money, have you forgotten I married rich? Why would I need the four billion won your Chief stole from my family when my husband spoils me with extravagant gifts?”
Stella places a hand on your thigh. “That’s enough, ____,” she turns to the officer and detective. “As for you two, you’re both speculating and writing two very different narratives. My client didn’t kill the chief for money, nor did she do it because of a torrid affair. If you continue on, we’ll sue for harassment and defamation.”
The two share a look, and Detective Choi clears his throat. “Maybe we’re looking at this wrong, hm? Maybe it was accidental? You didn’t mean to kill him, did you? An argument transpired while you two were out for lunch. You felt wronged and went to his loft to speak to him, but he dismissed you. In a fit of rage, you pushed him, and he fell, hitting his head on the way down. Scared, you hid the body.”
Stella interjects in a harsh tone, “My client will not be answering that.”
You stare off into space, no longer knowing what to do. You’re truly at a loss. No matter what you say and no matter how many times you deny it, they will find a way to convict and sentence you for a crime you didn’t commit. Even in death, the bastard was still screwing you over.
“We have no further questions. Make sure you stay in Seoul and are reachable. I’m sure we’ll have more questions as more evidence turns up.”
Officer Kang and Detective Choi pack up their papers and bid you goodbye. You let out a sigh of relief and let your body sag. You were right about the migraine.
“Jake has requested we meet him for lunch to discuss a few details about your case. Let’s go,” Stella says as she packs up her briefcase, her tone still bright. You nod and follow behind her.
“____! Are you okay? They didn’t hurt you, did they?” Jake asks as you come into his line of vision. He engulfs you in a hug and holds you tightly to his chest. Stella sidesteps you two and bounces over to the table, beaming.
“I’m starving! Can we eat now? I could eat a horse!” she exclaims with a giggle.
You blush and push Jake off of you before taking a seat across from Stella. Jake fixes his suit and sits beside you. “How was it? Do you really think they can convict her?”
Stella grabs a menu, her eyes sparkling. “Oh, they’ll try their best, but they’ve got nothing solid! I bet they’ll drag their feet until they find the murder weapon or some more witnesses. But don’t you worry, they’re going to have a hard time pinning it on you!” she says, winking.
She waves the waiter over and orders with enthusiasm, then turns to you and Jake with a dazzling smile, “What about you two? You’ve got to try the gnocchi here, it’s to die for!”
You look at her, stunned. You’re the leading suspect in a murder you didn’t commit; why is she so cheerful? You shake your head, “I don’t think I can stomach anything at the moment.”
Stella shrugs, “Suit yourself! More room for dessert then!” she says, laughing.
Jake places his hand on your thigh and gingerly rubs soothing circles, “I’ll have a glass of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and my wife will have a pot of chamomile tea.”
The waiter nods and takes down your drink orders before walking away.
“Forensics didn’t find any of your DNA on the chief's body or clothes, which is great news! But the detectives say they have a witness who claims to have seen you fleeing the chief’s home a few minutes after the alleged time of death,” Stella says, her eyes twinkling as if she’s sharing a juicy piece of gossip.
You stare at her wide-eyed, “What do you mean? I have an alibi for the night he was killed!”
Stella sighs dramatically, “It’s not the best alibi, honestly. The prosecution could easily poke holes in it. But don’t fret! We’ve got time to figure this out.” The waiter returns with your drinks, pouring your tea before leaving. “Be honest, are you guilty?”
Jake scowls, “What kind of question is that? Of course she isn’t.”
Stella sends him a sunny smile, “No need to get so angry. I just want to make sure there are no secrets between us. I’ll head down to the station tomorrow to see if I can find out who the witness is. I’ll keep you updated on any changes in your case.”
You nod and pick up your tea cup, blowing on the hot drink and taking a small sip. “I’m meeting a friend at the NFS later today. Right now the prosecution only has a case because of the doctor’s findings in Chief Minho’s autopsy. If we can come up with a different cause of death or estimated time of death, you could be exonerated,” Stella says, her voice full of excitement.
“Wait, the case is riding on one medical examiner's results? What if they were falsified?” Jake asks.
Stella nods eagerly, “Exactly! That’s why I’m meeting with my friend. He’s super meticulous with his autopsies. I’ll leave him a copy of the report and see what he has to say. If he comes up with different findings, we can easily get the charges dropped!”
The waiter returns and takes your food orders, leaving you in a momentary silence. The restaurant's ambiance is calming, but your mind is far from at ease. Stella, ever cheerful, breaks the silence.
"In the meantime, stay strong! The prosecution’s case is weak without concrete evidence, but we need to be prepared for anything,” she says brightly.
You nod absently, sipping your chamomile tea. Jake's hand remains on your thigh, his touch grounding you.
The food arrives, and though you have no appetite, you force yourself to take a few bites. Stella, on the other hand, eats with an unhurried elegance, her demeanor never faltering.
Once lunch is finished, Stella dabs her lips with a napkin and stands. "I'll head to the NFS now. Stay reachable. I'll contact you as soon as I have any updates!"
Jake rises to pay the bill, nodding to Stella. "Thank you, Stella. We appreciate everything you’re doing.”
Stella gives a curt nod and walks away with her briefcase in hand. Jake returns to you, helping you to your feet and guiding you out of the restaurant. The drive home is quiet, Jake occasionally glancing over at you, but you remain silent, lost in your thoughts. The weight of the accusations, the potential outcomes, and the sheer injustice of it all consume you.
When you arrive home, the quiet comfort of your surroundings does little to alleviate your anxiety. As soon as you step inside, you turn to Jake, your eyes pleading. You need a distraction, something to take your mind off the nightmare your life has become.
You step closer, hands trembling as you start to unbuckle his belt.
Jake's hands cover yours, stopping you. “____, not like this."
"Please, Jake," you whisper, your voice cracking with the weight of your desperation. "I need to focus on something other than what's going on. I need you."
Jake's resistance falters at the raw vulnerability in your eyes. He pulls you close, his lips finding yours in a kiss that starts gentle but quickly becomes urgent. You cling to him, needing his touch, his presence, to ground you.
His hands move to lift your hoodie, and you remove his shirt before guiding him to the bedroom. The need to lose yourself in him, to escape the crushing reality even for a moment, drives every action. You reach for his belt again, and this time he doesn't stop you.
"Are you sure?" he murmurs against your lips, his breath warm and reassuring.
You nod, your fingers deftly undoing the buckle. "I'm sure. I need this, Jake. I need you.”
The moment you step foot in Jake’s bedroom, you feel the temperature rise. Your clammy hands shake almost imperceptibly in his while Jake slowly pulls you closer towards his bed. Almost as if he can sense your nervousness, Jake’s eyes soften; his fingers lightly grip your chin and turn you up and towards him. He can see the anxiousness in your eyes and feel the way your body trembles near his.
“Hey, we don’t have to do this. We can just cuddle or something,” Jake says, his hands moving to trace your side. His touch is completely attentive, fingers slowly massaging your flesh through your clothing. Reflexively, your eyes flutter, a soft whine escaping your lips. His words cause your heart to clench, and you quickly shake your head, your hair following the movement. “No. I want this. I want you,” you whisper as you look earnestly into his eyes.
Steeling every single nerve you have, you gather yourself and run your hand down his sculpted chest and towards his clothed length. Jake lets out a pained moan as you begin palming him through his slacks. You can almost feel everything through his boxers. He’s still a little soft, but despite that, he feels huge under your palm.
“Ah,” Jake gasps. Then, as one of your fingers runs along the length of his shaft through his clothing, he hisses. Completely taken by how he feels, you find yourself slowly admiring his cock. You can’t see it yet, but it radiates heat through his clothing as it pulses under your touch, slowly hardening. He grows under your touch, slacks just barely tenting as you continue to palm him through the material of his clothing.
“Fuck… princess,” Jake breathes out, his face scrunched up in pleasure. You stare up at him, eyes scanning across his features as your hand slowly goes past the barrier and into his briefs. Your hand curls around his length before pumping up and down. When he lets out a pained groan, his eyes slowly shutting at your ministrations, you find your core clenching. Jake looks beautiful.
Jake suddenly pulls your hand away and shakes his head. “No, this is about you.” He unbuttons your jeans and slides them down your legs with your underwear.
“Come ‘ere,” Jake says, reaching out for you. He takes your hand within his before pulling you towards the bed. He takes a seat first and then slides his pants and boxers down, his hands then perch themselves on your hips, and he pulls you further between his thighs. Long, dexterous fingers trace along your hips and towards the hem of your top before sliding it up your torso, completely taking it off. He presses his face against your stomach, and you shiver when his lips run along the flesh, his breath fanning your stomach. Then, he’s guiding you to sit on his thighs.
“You’re so beautiful,” Jake says, looking up at you as his hand cups your jaw while his thumb runs over your swollen lips. His words cause your eyes to soften, and you cup his jaw with both your hands before kissing him tenderly. Jake’s eyes slip shut before deepening the kiss. You begin grinding against his thighs, your core completely soaked, aching with the need for him.
Feeling your hot pussy against his naked thigh, Jake slowly lifts you off of him before spinning around and laying you down on the bed. Jake braces himself over you as both his arms cage your body. His lips never leave yours, finding it almost impossible to pull away. Your tongues dance sensually, Jake’s caressing yours tenderly as he pours every ounce of his feelings into the kiss. The only reason you both finally pull away is due to the need for oxygen in both your lungs.
With a gasp, Jake breaks away, instead, peppering kisses along your jaw and down towards your neck. When his tongue scrapes against the outline of your clavicle you find yourself gasping. His teeth gently nibble your skin, pulling the flesh between his plush lips and sucking as he leaves marks on you. When he’s sufficiently marked you, he pulls away, admiring you. He places a soft kiss against the mark before angling his neck and kissing the underside of your jaw.
Jake shifts his body down so his face is just over your breasts. Brushing his lips over the hem of your bra, Jake’s mouth grazes your breasts just slightly. With a groan, you arch into his tender touch. He’s so gentle with you and even more tender with the way his lips ghost every inch of your chest.
“Jaeyun?” you ask, head tilting. Jake only hums in response, pressing a tender kiss to the top of your left breast before nuzzling into the soft skin.
“Aren’t you going to fuck me?” you ask, and Jake chuckles against your skin. He buries his face between your breasts, letting your breasts encompass his face as he kisses along your sternum, just above the hem of your bra.
“Mhm… gotta undress you first,” Jake replies. You blink before you feel his fingers gently trail along your side and under your back. Aiding him, you arch your back, letting him fumble around with the clasp for a few moments before he unlocks it and tosses it across his room.
Once stripped of all your clothes, Jake gently pushes you back down on the bed before he begins trailing his slim fingers along your wet folds. You buck your hips into him, you can feel your wetness sticking and unsticking to the lace of your panties with your movements.
“What do you want, princess? Use your words.” He encourages as you involuntarily clench at nothing. “I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what you want.”
“I-I want your fingers,” you’re cut off by Jake pinching your pussy lips. You release a loud moan and jerk your hips into his hand, “a-and your mouth.”
“Anything for my princess” He says and then slips your panties down your legs, Jake trails his fingers up and down your slit, gently brushing against it. He pushes one of his long digits into your dripping heat. Your breath quickens as he begins pumping the curled finger in and out slowly. You bite down on your lip, hard enough to draw blood.
Jake sinks a second finger into you, you hiss. He pulls his fingers out causing you to whine, hips chasing his hand as you buck into the air. He grins at you before sucking his fingers, licking your arousal clean off of them. You clench at the sight.
He leans down and places kisses on your body until he comes to your navel. He parts your legs and groans at the sight. You blush at the way he stares down your wet pussy and try to close your legs but he glares at you and shakes his head, “don’t.”
He parts your thighs again and leans down between them and places a soft kiss against your clit. You cry out and thrust your hip into his face. He pushes his lips against your clit, his tongue flicking and licking your nub as he sinks his fingers back into your snatch.
Messily, Jake eats you out, his tongue lashes against your clit as he plunges his fingers in and out of you at a high speed. He gently bites your clit and sucks harshly making you spasm. “I’m gonna cum.” You warn.
“Cum for me. Cum on my fingers,” Jake says, drawing out your orgasm. Your walls clench and he lets out a little groan, You shut your eyes tightly as you come undone all over his fingers and face.
He helps you ride out your high before stepping away and moving up your body to kiss you again. “You’re so beautiful.” He mutters against your lips. He steps away for a quick moment to take his cock into his right hand and pumps it a few times. “How do you want it baby?”
“Doggy. I want you inside me. I need you to fill me with your cum.” You breathe out, your voice soft and submissive. You look at him timidly. Your lips are parted to release whimpers. “Can you please fuck me?”
Jake gulps at your words, he’s always heard that you were known for being blunt but never would he have expected that. Your words send a reaction straight to his cock which is painfully hard.
“Lay on your stomach,” he demands, pinning his dark eyes on you. “Now.”
You scramble to do as he says. You flip yourself so you’re laying down on your stomach and wait for him to touch you, your body heating up at the thought of having his dick inside you. You can hear him step closer to you and can feel his presence by your legs. A surprised gasp escapes your lips when he slides his arm under your stomach and lifts you up. He drags your body closer to the edge of the mattress so that you are bending over the bed but he doesn’t let go of you just yet.
He grabs a few pillows from the head of his bed and slides them under your hips, propping you up. You let out a little content sigh as he drops your body. You can feel the bed dip as he rests a knee beside your hip. You jolt forward when he spanks your ass with full force. You wait with baited breath as Jake squeezes your cheeks. You moan at the feeling of him fondling your bum.
“You have such a pretty ass.” He mutters in a low appreciative growl.
You blush but say nothing to the compliment. Jake decides to be merciful and stops fondling your ass. He positions himself at the back of your thighs and puts his weight very lightly on you. He uses his hands to pull your cheeks apart, spreading them to make sure you are well lubricated. When he sees how your womanhood is glistening with slick and cum he hums, “you’re so wet for me, princess.”
He shuffles up the bed a little bit and lets go of your ass. You feel his cock tap on your bottom. “Are you ready, love?”
You hum and wiggle your bottom. You let out a little mewl when you feel his tip tease your entrance. He rubs his cock up and down your slit to coat his tip with your slick. You both let out shaky breaths as he slips his thickness inside you, your tight walls milking his throbbing length. You whimper and mewl at the pleasure, your entire body heating up with want. Jake stays like this for a few moments to let you adjust to the feeling before he starts to slip in and out of you. His thrusts start to pick up speed, hitting the right spot each time, leaving you a moaning mess. He is grunting and breathing loudly behind you. The sound of his hips slapping against your bouncing ass is loud.
“You’re such a good girl, ____.” Jake grunts, slamming his cock deep and hard into your pussy. You let out a high pitched gasp at the feeling. The pleasure is so amazing that you push your ass out even more, directly pressing your ass on his hips. Jake hikes his other leg up next to you and leans down to lay his body on you. He slides his hands under your arms then he leans down to press a soft kiss on your nape. He lays a few kisses on your neck and flexes his muscles to hold him up better, he picks up his pace again and starts fucking you hard and fast. He groans into your ear and starts whispering dirty things into your ear. The faster he goes the closer you feel to your climax.
He brings his elbows closer together so that you are wedged tighter between his arms. “F…fuck, princess,” he whines, “I’m going to cum in you.” You hum and lift your ass.
“Please do.”
He fucks you deep and hard, each thrust filled with overflowing love and passion. Jake lets out a low growl into your ear and in one more powerful thrust, he fills you up with his warm sticky cum. But he’s relentless, he continues to fuck you through his climax. You whine and mewl, you feel so full with both his thick cock and cum shoved in you, in no time you feel your orgasm crashing through your body.
Jake continues to thrust in and out of you as you both ride out your highs. Once you’ve both calmed down he slides off of you and removes the pillows so your hips can touch the bed. He pulls you close to him and covers you both with his blanket.
You and Jake lay entwined in the bed, the warmth of his body a comforting presence against the chill of your fears. The room is silent except for the gentle rhythm of your breaths, and for a while, it feels as though the world outside your bedroom doesn’t exist.
Jake breaks the silence first, his voice a gentle murmur against your hair. “Are you okay now? Do you want to talk about it?”
You take a deep breath, considering his question. You’re not okay, not really, but talking might help. You turn to face him, your eyes meeting his gaze. “Yeah, I think I’m ready.”
Jake’s hold on you tightens slightly, offering silent support. You begin, telling him what Anton had told you about Sungchan’s call, about the preparations for you to leave Korea. Jake’s jaw tightens as you speak, a flash of anger in his eyes at the thought of someone trying to take you away from him. He pulls you closer, as if to shield you from even the idea of being taken away.
“I don’t want to suspect my own brother,” you continue, your voice trembling. “It doesn’t even make sense. But I don’t know who to trust anymore.”
Jake’s expression softens, but there’s a hard edge to his eyes. “I didn’t want to say this before, but I had Jay and Jungwon do some digging on the missing baggie boys. They caught one of the guys sneaking into our territory and got him to talk. He confessed that he was sent by Sungchan.”
The news hits you like a punch to the gut and your heart sinks at the revelation, a sense of betrayal twisting in your chest. "Sungchan?" you whisper, your voice barely audible. "My own brother?"
Jake nods, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and concern. "I'm sorry, love. I didn't want to believe it either."
You sit up suddenly, a memory flooding back to you. "Oh my gosh," you gasp, your eyes wide with realization.
Jake sits up as well, worry etched across his features. "What is it? What's wrong?"
"The night of the dinner party, the one where you proposed. Sungchan promised me he would do whatever it took to get me back home. I didn't think much of it at the time, but now.." Your voice trails off, tears welling up in your eyes as the pieces start to fall into place.
Jake wraps his arms around you, his touch warm and grounding. "I'm so sorry, sweetheart. I can't believe he'd go this far."
But you’re already moving, slipping out of bed and hurriedly getting dressed. “I have to meet with Sungchan. I need to know the truth.”
Jake is out of bed in an instant, grabbing your arm gently but firmly. “No, it’s too dangerous. He’s already proven he’s willing to hurt you. He’s framing you for murder, for fuck’s sake.”
You shake your head, your resolve firm. “He’s my brother, Jake. He won’t hurt me. His goal isn’t to harm me, but to help me.”
“Things might have changed,” Jake argues, his grip tightening. “Especially if he’s the one who ordered the hit on us!”
You pull away, fear and impatience in your eyes. “I have to do this alone, Jake. Please, understand.”
Jake follows you as you head towards the door, desperation in his voice. “At least take Niki with you if you won’t take me.”
You stop for a moment, turning to face him. The pain in his eyes almost makes you reconsider, but you shake your head. “I need to do this alone, Jake. It’s the only way I’ll get answers.”
Without waiting for his response, you rush out of the house, grabbing your keys and heading to the car. Jake stands at the doorway, watching helplessly as you drive off, his worry and anger a palpable weight on his shoulders.
As you speed through the streets, your mind races with possibilities. Sungchan, your own brother, could be behind this entire mess. The thought tears at your heart, but you need to know the truth. You need to confront him and find out what’s really going on, no matter the cost.
You bang on the door to Sungchan’s apartment, anger, betrayal and fear all coursing through your body as you wait for him to respond.
“Fuck, wait a second.” You hear from the other side before the door is pulled open and you’re met with a disheveled looking Sungchan.
"____?" he says, his voice a mix of confusion and concern. "What are you doing here?"
You step closer to his face, your eyes locking onto his.
"We need to talk, Sungchan. Now."
He steps aside to let you in, closing the door behind you. "What's going on?" he asks, his voice wary.
"You've been behind all of this, haven't you?" you say, your voice trembling with anger and hurt. "The missing baggie boys, the attempt on my life, framing me for Chief Minho's murder?"
Sungchan's eyes widen in shock. "What are you talking about? I've been trying to protect you!"
"Protect me? By framing me for murder then sending me off to France?" you say, your voice rising. "How is that protection?"
"I didn't frame you for murder," he says, his voice honest. "I've been trying to find out who did. I called Anton to make preparations because I thought you were in danger, not because I wanted to take the fall!"
Sungchan's words hang in the air, a mix of desperation and sincerity. You feel a knot tightening in your stomach as you try to make sense of it all.
You take a step closer, your voice trembling.
"Sungchan, I need to understand. If you're not framing me, then who is?"
He sighs, rubbing a hand over his face. "I'm not the one framing you…but I did bribe Chief Minho."
Your eyes widen in shock. "You what?"
"I bribed the Chief to cause more chaos for Jake, to distract him," Sungchan admits, his voice low and filled with anger. "I thought if Jake was preoccupied, it would buy me enough time to make the preparations to get you out of the country."
You feel a mix of anger and betrayal. "You bribed him to create chaos? Do you have any idea what you've done?"
Sungchan looks away, guilt etched on his face. "I didn't call a hit on you, this is the first I'm even hearing about it. I would never go that far."
"Then who did?" you demand, your voice rising. "Who is trying to kill me and frame me for murder?"
"I don't know," Sungchan admits, his voice soft. "But I swear to you, it wasn't me."
The tension in the room is palpable, the air thick with unspoken emotions. You search his eyes, looking for any sign of deception, but all you see is the brother you've always known, the brother who has always tried to protect you in his own misguided way.
"Why, Sungchan?" you ask, your voice breaking. "Why are you doing this?"
He takes a deep breath, his eyes swirling with sadness.
"Because I'm trying to save you, ____. This life you're living, it's not safe. I just wanted to give you a chance to escape, to go to Paris like you always dreamed."
“If you thought I was in danger, why didn’t you come to me directly?” you demand, your voice shaking. “Why all this secrecy?”
“Because you wouldn’t have listened!” Sungchan replies, frustration creeping into his tone. “You’re so wrapped up in your new life with Jake, you wouldn’t have believed me.”
You shake your head, trying to comprehend. “So you thought the best way to protect me was to have me forcibly taken away from my home, my husband?”
Sungchan’s eyes narrow. “Would it really be so bad? Leaving Jake behind and going to Paris? That’s all you ever wanted, right? To leave and go to Paris with Anton and Haru. I’m doing you a favor.”
You recoil at his words, a wave of disgust washing over you. “A favor? How is sending me away from my husband a favor?”
Sungchan’s expression hardens. “Jake isn’t a good person, ____. Don’t you remember? You begged me to get you out of the engagement.”
Your anger flares. “That was before I knew him! Jaeyun is a good person, Sungchan. You don’t know him.”
“Jaeyun?” He spits out, “you’re on a first name basis now? Fucking great. He’s worse than our father,” Sungchan snaps. “Has he brainwashed you already?”
You scoff, shaking your head in disbelief. “I know what he does, I’ve seen it firsthand. I live with the man! But he’s never hurt me, and he’s made it very clear that he never will. That’s more than I can say for our father.”
Sungchan’s expression falters at the mention of your father. Memories of the abuse you both suffered flicker in his eyes, and he seems to deflate a bit, the fight going out of him.
“Please, Sungchan,” you beg, your voice softening. “Stop this. I can take care of myself.”
Sungchan’s face hardens again, and he shakes his head. “If I could, I would. But it’s out of my hands.”
He moves to open the door, his expression closed off. “You need to leave.”
You stare at him, disbelief and hurt welling up inside you. “Sungchan, please…”
He doesn’t respond, only gestures for you to go. You feel tears prick at your eyes as you step outside, the door closing behind you with a finality that breaks your heart.
You stand on his doorstep, tears streaming down your face, the weight of the betrayal crashing down on you. After what feels like an eternity, you force yourself to move, getting into your car and driving back home to Jake.
The drive is a blur of tears and painful memories. By the time you pull into the driveway, you’re exhausted, emotionally and physically. You stumble into the house, Jake rushing to meet you as soon as he hears the door.
“____,” he says, his voice full of concern. “What happened?”
You collapse into his arms, sobbing uncontrollably. Jake holds you tightly, his hand soothingly running up and down your back. “It’s okay, I’ve got you,” he murmurs, his voice a calming presence.
“I don’t know what to do,” you cry, your words muffled against his chest. “Sungchan… he’s behind everything. He wanted to send me away. He thinks he’s protecting me.”
Jake pulls back slightly, looking into your eyes. “Tell me everything,” he says softly.
You take a deep breath, trying to steady yourself. “Sungchan isn’t working alone. He told me he wasn’t behind the hit and my framing. I know my brother, Jake. He wasn’t lying. He’s working with someone else, I can feel it.”
Jake’s brow furrows. “Why do you think that?”
“Because he knew too much,” you explain. “There’s a mole within your circle. The chief went missing before he could carry out what Sungchan had paid him for, so that means someone else has been feeding him information.”
Jake’s expression darkens, but he nods. “I expected as much. The only people we can trust are Jay and Sunghoon.”
Just then, Jake’s phone rings. He answers it and puts it on speaker. “Sunghoon, what’s up?”
“Jake, you and ____ need to get to the safe house. Now,” Sunghoon’s urgent voice comes through the line.
You and Jake exchange glances before you both head to his car and drive off to the location. The tension in the car is palpable, but you remain silent, trying to process everything.
When you arrive at the safe house, Sunghoon is waiting for you. “What’s going on?” Jake asks as soon as you step inside.
“I’ve been keeping tabs on Sungchan like you asked,” Sunghoon begins, glancing briefly at you. Jake side-eyes you, but you’re not mad. You nod in understanding.
“It’s only expected with how Sungchan has been behaving,” you say quietly.
Sunghoon continues, “I had Sunoo tail him. Sungchan has been meeting up with Yerin for months, starting six months ago.”
Jake furrows his brows. “What do you mean? He's been meeting my stepmother?”
Jay steps in, his expression awkward and tense. “He’s been meeting her at hotels and bars. Sungchan has been sleeping with your stepmother, Jake.”
Your stomach churns with disgust at your brother’s actions. Jake looks dumbfounded. “Is Yerin the one behind everything?” he asks, his voice tinged with disbelief and anger.
Sunghoon nods. “From what we’ve gathered, it seems Yerin is the brains behind the operation. She’s been using Sungchan and Heeseung as her goons to carry out acts on the ground. I have no doubt she’s behind the chief’s death and you being framed for it.”
Jake’s jaw tightens as he processes this information. “What does Heeseung have to do with this?”
Sunghoon sighs. “When he ran into ____ at the police station, it was to have the lieutenant call in a fake witness for the chief’s murder case. He’s part of the reason why the cops have a solid case against ____.”
Jake’s anger flares, his fists clenching. “What now?”
You stand more confidently, meeting Jake’s gaze. “Send me in.”

His words make your heart ache, and as much as you want to punch him, you know that you wouldn't ever harm him. "Listen, smart ass.. We're both in deep shit. If you don't help me, we're both fucked." Your words immediately catch his attention and he hardens, becoming more serious and less playful.
"So you've heard about Scar?" He asks as you nod, gesturing for him to sit down as he pours you a glass. Jay and Heeseung stand guard on the stairs, giving the both of you the privacy to talk.
"They're clearly a strong group.. I can't deal with them on my own.. And they're targetting Fang first." You explain as he nods. "What can I do?.." He inquires as you sigh. "I need your men to double perimeters on the border. My sector can't be infiltrated."
Sunghoon nods understandingly, reaching across the table to take your hand, his fingers fiddling with your own. You immediately draw your hand back, clearing your throat as you watch his fanged smile spread across his face. "You look good... I haven't seen you since-"
At his words, you shoot up from your seat, downing your drink. "Now that we're clear for now, I'm leaving. I'll contact you later-"
He grabs your arm as you turn to leave, making you face him. "Come on now.. You aren't still mad at me for ending things are you?.."
I'll make a taglist if anyone is interested in this. just lmk me in the comments.

Something had to go wrong. Nothing, and I repeat, 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 ever goes perfect, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫.
That thought never left my mind, but, why waste such a perfect day with doubts and worries? No, I would regret that.
Turns out, it was going to be regretful either way.
I allowed myself to live in the blissful hours, alone, forgetting about my loving family. The levitating feeling, one that I was desperate for, was a curse. Forget about the sunshine, it was always at home, always with my family.
As the sun gave its goodbyes for the day, I rush over to my house, bringing along the foods and toys I, out of pitiful luck, managed to acquire without a coin to pay; I was grateful mother nature gave me the treasures on my outing in the woods today.
I didn't walk, I skipped instead, with such joy to be able to provide the family and, I have to admit, to hear the praises with such pride in their voice, all accompanied by their heart-warming smiles. My young sister would be preoccupied with the stuffed teddy bear, something that must've been lost by its owner. I thanked the universe for this gift, but felt bad for whoever lost such a prize. I had to, mentally, thank them too.
It's strange, how a nine-year-old could be so mature yet so youthful, especially someone with a heart of an angel. God's child they say, but would it be even if she took the wrong turn? What would happen to her once Satan interfered with her bubbly life, turning it into a nightmare that will be engraved in her memories?
Each skip to the house was a step closer to the dreaded ending, one that'll make her turn into a 'monster'.
No one is a monster, it's just that we can be hurt so badly it affects our morals, and it dims our pure light.
The sky has dressed in its black attire, mourning the lifeless bodies that lay in a house with foundations of love.
It starts to rain, for the clouds know what to expect when an innocent child has to face hell instead of the welcoming arms of care and comfort. It'll be scary, how quickly a baby must mature, and survive with an overwhelming feeling of agony, hatred, and vengeance.
"Eomma, Appa, sister!" You announced your arrival, yet it felt oddly strange. The lights are off, and the door is slightly open. You slow down, taking cautious steps towards the front door, with one thought in mind: 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫.
It's terrifying you, you're unprepared, and it's so late at night, a chance for young minds to bring its fears into reality.
Who would come into your house, let alone leave it in such a state...unless they never left.
You're petrified at this moment, heart beating in such an abnormal pace, your body is so stiff it's like you need to run away. But what about your family? You can't abandon them.
One step...two...three. There, lies the sinful acts displayed in the living room. One, two, three bodies who looked exactly like the people you love covered in blood when they shouldn't have. And a mysterious figure in the darkness, presenting a disgusting smile, as if killing was nothing.

enha boys + variety shows
synopsis. headcanons in which your group along with enhypen are on a variety show together and fans seem to notice the connection between you and one specific member… genre. fluff pairing. enhypen boys x idol!fem!reader notes. if there are typos…they’re not there then!!
lee heeseung
being the oldest of the group along with heeseung, you were both paired together when playing the whisper challenge. heeseung tried to contain the smile on his face when he sat across from you, knowing that all the cameras on you both could pick up his reaction. it was cute to see you so flustered while trying to guess what word heeseung was trying to tell her. you would never let the boy know, but constantly looking at his lips made your stomach twist and you wished you could kiss him at the moment. sometimes you would zone out, missing what heeseung was trying to say because you were too distracted by his face. your members would laugh while you put your face in your hands in embarrassment.
your clips with him went viral on twitter later for how intimate your eye contact with him was and how you seemed to be doing the ‘triangle method’ with your eyes. heeseung texted that night you after seeing the posts— the notification made you shriek and drop your phone.
park jay
your group was featured on enhypen’s en-o’ clock episode for a game of mafia. it got intense quickly with everyone yelling and accusing each other. the chaos was amusing but in the midst of it, you were the calmest one. jay became suspicious of you, believing that you were the mafia since you had barley contributed to the conversation. when you locked eyes with jay, you smirked, causing the boy to blush a bit. he was sure that you were the mafia and got all of the boys to vote for you when the time came. turns out— you were simply a villager and the mafia actually ended up being sunghoon. you wanted to throw people off, it was funny that way. especially jay who seemed to react the way you wanted him too. it was fun to tease him and watch him become all flustered.
engenes and [your group fandom name] freak out over the interactions between you two. you’re described as being very flirty towards jay while he looks at you as if you hung all the stars in the sky. so much for being subtle…oops…
sim jake
since your group only debuted a year ago, you had not yet been subjected to the classic haunted house game. when the company finally set one up, your group was paired with you brother group, enhypen. you and jake were paired together for the challenge which made the boy excited yet nervous. he had a huge crush on you ever since he first saw you in the company building, preparing for your debut. when the two of you started the challenge to go through the abandoned building and look for clues, you were immediately jump-scared. you swore jake screamed louder than you did. he grabbed you hand and immediately pulled you away, running in the opposite direction. jake wanted to seem more tough and have a vibe of ‘i’ll protect you’ but he was sure he already ruined that. the whole challenge basically consisted of the two of you screaming, grabbing onto each other and falling all over the place. but you wouldn’t have done it with anyone else.
fans on twitter were obsessed with the chemistry between you two. the way you conversed and bickered as if you were life long friends was something they adored. and the light touches and lingering gazes that suggested more than friends was immediately pointed out and analyzed like crazy.
park sunghoon
being paired with sunghoon for the heart flutter challenge was nerve wracking to say the least. you were positive that the boy knew about your feelings, and he would definitely be taking advantage of it. once the cat ears were on your head, they began to move slightly only by you looking at sunghoon. he laughed and your heart raced because of his pretty smile. it was obvious that he was making you flustered and your group mates could be heard teasing you in the background. you tried to defend yourself and make sunghoon flustered as well, but it was hard to without seeming overly flirty.
on twitter everyone is talking about how much you were blushing around sunghoon. while it was a bit embarrassing for you, it was worth it to see all the shipping comments and videos.
kim sunoo
your group and enhypen did a special weekly idol video together. you both had back to back comebacks to promote and fans loved seeing the two groups interact so the company decided to do something about that. you felt nervous being there especially since you had the biggest crush on one of the members, sunoo. you tried not to look at him too much, scared that the camera would capture your lovesick stare. what you didn’t catch was sunoo staring at you as well, a small smile on his face whenever you talked. he thought you were adorable, and he could tell that you were slightly nervous which made you even cuter to him.
later that night when you’re scrolling on twitter, you see a bunch of screenshots, videos and even edits of you and sunoo. everyone is talking about how the two of you looked and smiled at each other the whole vid. some people tried to deny it, saying that you guys were just being friendly. but it was obvious that the stares were anything but friendly.
yang jungwon
your group along with enhypen were on a variety show together. being considered their ‘sister’ group, you were paired up for a lot of activities together. one of the challenges in this show was random play dance. being the main dancer, you knew a lot of different group choreographies and were able to execute them well. being a secret enhypen fan, you were able to dance to their songs perfectly which caught jungwon’s attention. his eyes sparkled as he watched you, feeling flustered from seeing a pretty girl perfectly execute his group’s choreography. when ‘bite me’ came on, he immediately joined you, making all of the members yell out in surprise. one person wolf whistled (jungwon swears it was ni-ki).
enegenes go absolutely insane over the two of you dancing to ‘bite me’ together. everyone used to call the two of you ‘siblings’ considering that you were both young leaders and main dancers. but after seeing the way you looked at each other, people decided that it was a little too intense for ‘siblings’.
nishimura riki
being the maknaes of the group, you and riki were paired together for the telepathy challenge. the both of you stood back to back, headphones on so you couldn’t hear each other’s movements. your groups members would hold up a sign in front of you and riki that said the same word or phrase and if you could both make the same move or action, you would get a point. you and riki proved not to be very telepathic considering that all of your moves were different. that was until you both had to act out the word ‘dance’ and started doing the ‘sweet venom’ head move at the same time. both of your groups yelled out in excitement, causing you and riki to turn around and give each other high fives.
one clip of you two went viral where riki holds onto your hand a bit too long during your celebration, his eyes only trained on your face. when the boy sees it he feels extremely flustered, but he sends the clip to you with a winking emoji, hoping to send a subtle message.

☆Warnings☆: Yandere themes, kidnap, somewhat sexual, suggestive, blood, death, Mafia
☆Synopsis☆: The Park Brothers, a well known mafia group, known to go down in the history books as the most powerful Korean mafia. Though they have their morals in their own words. Many mafias had been drawn to their death at a specific lake. and all those deaths link to one specific, beautiful young woman..... Lee Y/n. They claim that she'd seduce men to their death. Yet the Park brothers had fallen in love.
☆✧☆✧☆✧☆✧☆✧☆✧☆✧☆✧☆✧☆✧☆
Sunghoon stared out on his balcony at the crystal waters, in which a majority of his enemies were dragged to their death, by an unknown being. He never saw what happened or how, but it reminded to keep his guard up. Jay appeared behind him, tapping on the younger Park's shoulder. Sunghoon put his binoculars down as he turned to Jay. "Sunghoon, I doubt staring at the ocean is going to get you anywhere... Those fools must've been promised gold, and thrown off a boat when far out of sight for all you know" Jay simply said as Sunghoon narrowed his eyes at the ocean.
"Think about it Jay.... someone is out to get us... Sure his or their foolery won't work on us.... but we should stay alert... who the fuck could it possibly be? some group from a foreign country we fucked over?" He asked as Jay smirked. "Whoever or whatever it is... we'll see tonight" Jay said as Sunghoon turned to him tilting his head. "Jay we aren't going there are you fucking stupid?!" Sunghoon asked as Jay snickerred.
That very night, Jay was working in his office while Sunghoon sat at his balcony, crystal glass at hand as he stared through the binoculars, looking for anything suspicious. Nothing but the calm waves, moonlight reflecting on the crystal waters a few very tiny fish barely visible as it leaped out of the water and back in again. Wait what is that, possibly a mermaid?
He watched as the female flipped her wet hair back. Her figure alluring, the white clothes she was dressed in drenched till they see through. The moonlight reflecting off of her making her seem so angelic. Sunghoon's eyes widen. The woman turns around, a smile on her face as she continues dancing in the somewhat shallow end, the water reaching her mid thighs, yet her short white dress was drenched, her gaze seductive, and the way she moved made him really feel something.
"What are you staring at?" Jay asked as Sunghoon passed him the binoculars. Jay fell in love with the sight "Guess we found the angel of death...." He mutterred as Sunghoon bit his lip. "Fuck it. She's ours. we're taking her." Sunghoon said as Jay turned to him, he too was thinking the same.
It didn't take them any struggle to kidnap her from where she was, the woman now wrapped in a towel, as she was lying down on a very luxorious bed. The moment she opened her eyes, and saw the Park Brothers before, she knew she was fucked. "Lee Y/n.... the very sister of our dear friend Lee Heeseung.... what business do you have these murders?" Jay asked as Sunghoon sat by her on his chair, drying her hair with a towel. His hands so gently handling her, which sent a shiver down her spine. These men had the power to murder her. to torture her painfully and feed her remains to hungry foxes.
Jay suddenly clicked his fingers before her, as she zoned out. "Heeseung needed to kill Hwang Daehoon, and a few other mafia leaders who were more ruthless than morally.... so I offerred to help him.... I swear I dont intend on hurting anyone else, especially you guys Heeseung would never want to lay a hand on you...." She explained as Sunghoon suddenly grabbed her chin "Saying so much shit yet all I can focus on is that pretty face." he mumbles as she blinks at him.
Jay's eyes scanned her body, such a stunning figure, nice silky layerred black hair that framed her face perfectly, Her dark eyes, and perfect brows, slightly big nose, and the perfect soft cupid bow and arrow lips. Her jawline sharp as his. She's fucking hot. his hand softly grabbed her arm which was a slightly darker tone than his skin. "Ill spare you.... if you agree to become our wife." Jay simply said with a smirk as she frowned.
It's not like she had a choice anyway....

<< previous ♡ next >>
“Jungwon, stop,” you cry out. This wasn’t the first time that things had gotten rough with your boyfriend, especially as of late, but something about his gaze this time in particular, eyes narrowed and looking at you with intensity causes a pit to form in the bottom of your stomach.
His silence is eerie. Your boyfriend, when you had started dating him, was an exemplary gentleman. He was warm, charming, and polite, and you could go on for hours listing all of the traits that attracted you to him. He seemed like the picture-perfect boyfriend–he was chivalrous, he bought you flowers, and he seemed strong-willed and determined. He was also the leader of a powerful mafia clan.
Of course, you didn’t know this when you had started dating him. When he first told you, you were incredibly surprised, as well as a little bit scared. He assured you that you had nothing to be afraid of, that nothing would change, and that you would be incredibly safe with him. He had such a way with words that immediately persuaded you he was telling you the truth. This was your boyfriend, after all. Yang Jungwon, that you have come to know and love.
Should you have run that very first opportunity he had given you? You think back to the night he sat you down at his desk. For a second, you remember giggling and telling him that you felt more like you were at a doctor’s appointment than in your boyfriend’s office, and he had just given you a sweet smile before he proceeded. “Have you ever heard of ENHA?” he had asked you. Of course you had. At that point, everybody in the city had known about ENHA and SKZ, the two notorious and rival mafia groups that had control over the city. Though you didn’t know much about them, you had certainly heard of them. “I know this might come as a shock to you, but I’m the leader of ENHA. I want to lay all my cards out on the table for you, here and now. This is your chance–your out. If you want to leave, you can walk out that door right now and I will never contact you again.”
Two months. That’s how much time you had dedicated to your relationship with Jungwon before you found out the truth about him. You know your sister would have laughed in your face. She had told you from the very beginning that it wasn’t meant to be, that you were making a mistake with this one, but you had brushed her off. She had never liked your romantic pursuits, so what made this one any different? You didn’t listen to her. You didn’t walk out the door, and you made the decision to stay in your relationship with Jungwon. You wish you had; all of those traits that you had once admired in Jungwon had since become the downfall of your relationship. His overprotectiveness and desire for you to rely on him had caused you to become overdependent on him–and out of a job that you were actually incredibly passionate about. By the time you noticed that he was becoming more abusive, you relied on him for housing and income, and you had no way of contacting your sister even if you had wanted to. He had forced you to cut ties.
That’s how you got here, really. You were too far in. While once you imagined spending your entire life with him, now you dreamed of a life free of him. Your boyfriend, Yang Jungwon, was a walking contradiction. He had a warm exterior to most, a bright smile that charmed his way through any conversation; on the inside, he’s an indifferent, cold and murderous machine.
This is especially apparent to you now. His stoic expression contrasts scarily with the harsh words he spews at you. The intent in his eyes that bore into your skull tell you all you need to know. You’re on his shit list.
“Stop,” you repeat again, louder and with more force behind your words. You’re slotted right between his legs, no method of escape, pushed up against the brick wall outside of one of the many clubs owned by ENHA. Though the wall is scraping against your skin, it’s also bitter cold, a welcome contrast from the heat escaping your body.
You look rough. You know that you do without having to look in a mirror. Somewhere in the whole ordeal you had lost your shoes, and your mascara is currently running down your face in long wet clumps. Your hair is matted from where he had grabbed it, dragging you out of the club and caring less about your appearance. Your dress has more than one rip in it from when you had fallen onto the concrete, and your fingernails are steeped in blood from when you had tried to claw away. Thankfully, the ringing in your ears provides enough adrenaline to dull some of the pain you’re experiencing. They don’t ring enough to block out his words, though.
“You’re going to come into my club and act like some whore who doesn’t know who she belongs to? What the fuck were you thinking, getting into a bar fight at my club? People are going to think I don’t know how to control what belongs to me. Fuck, you’re unbelievable, Y/N. You make me sick to my stomach, I can’t even stand to look at you,” he says as he pushes you harder into the wall. Your skin scratches harder against the brick, leaving red bloody marks behind from the contact. Your breath hitches–Jungwon has never been this violent or demeaning to you before. His expression is blank, as if he has no remorse for what he’s doing, and that scares you even more. This wasn’t like anything you had seen in your boyfriendthis is a snap. Like a shelf that holds much more than it can carry, piling more and more on it until it starts to concave and the wood splinters in the middle, Jungwon has decided that he is not going to carry your burden anymore.
The first time he hit you, he had pushed you and shoved you around like a cold and calculating machine, no thought or purpose behind his actions. Minutes later, it was as if life had come back into his eyes. He got onto his knees and sobbed, repented for his actions and begged for your forgiveness. He reminded you of the fact that you were the only one who could ever love someone like him; nobody would be kind enough to let a mafia boss into their hearts and love them with all they had like you did. You’re all he has, he would remind you, you have to forgive him. He would get you the best medical treatment available, you would forgive him and it would be like it never happened. Until the next time, and the next.
Now, given the circumstances, you’re not sure you can defend him. Not with the way he’s speaking to you like you’re less than scum, worthless and indecent to be around. You feel belittled and small. To be the direct target of his rage, though there’s a reason for it this time, makes bile rise up in your throat, threatening to spill out. You’re beginning to see why your boyfriend isn’t to be messed with and why he’s considered one of the most dangerous men in the country. To add to it, he had been drinking and the stress of the other mafia group closing in on them was adding unwanted pressure. You were also a little bit intoxicated, which is probably what gave you the bravery to do what you had.
You were intentionally trying to rile him up. It was an innocent mistake, but you had the goal of making him a little bit jealous tonight. You were hoping things would take a different turn, after all. Your friend had told you about the time she flirted with another man in front of her boyfriend to get a rise out of him and it had worked, and he had taken her to the car and fucked the life out of her on the spot. She insisted it was the best sex she ever had.
You really should have known better; your relationship isn’t normal and you will never experience things the same way your friends do. But, you had tried it out. You started flirting with a stranger at the bar, just some light conversation and casual touches to the shoulder. At one point you had caught Jungwon’s eyes and mistook his dark gaze for jealousy, not rage, which fueled your desire to continue.
You had dragged the stranger out to the dance floor, and he was more than eager to go with you. He was much too touchy, sliding his hands up and down your hips and grinding his body into yours. That’s when his girlfriend was added to the mix–absolutely trashed, angry, and ready to start a fight she wasn’t going to win. You caused a scene, shouting expletives right back at her. You won, easily. But not before a hand was embedded in your hair and you were face to face with your very angry boyfriend. It seems like all it took was for one incident to completely change everything.
You’re scared. Empty words rise from your throat to defend yourself, to plead with him and try to change his mind, but a hand snakes around and cuts you off.
“Don’t bother coming back, bitch,” he spits. “You’re lucky if I keep you alive.” His hand tightens around your neck, leaving your vision to darken. Your hands come up around his, trying to yank his hand away to relieve some of the pressure to no avail. Your legs start to flail and kick in a last ditch effort of disparity.
“Please, Wonnie,” you choke out. He repeats your words back to you, mocking. Your hands are hitting at his and you’re gasping for breath, hot tears streaming down your face.
“Don’t call me that,” he seethes. “You should’ve fucking known better! You brought unwanted attention to yourself. You deserve to be taught a lesson for acting like such a fucking slut in my club. I bet you would’ve let him fuck you too, right?” You try to shake your head, wanting to deny and explain yourself when he suddenly lets go of you. You fall to the ground, your bodyweight now completely unsupported by him.
You look up at him for a second, large doe eyes blinking away tears. He stares right back at you. One second passes by before you plant your feet into the ground, breaking into a rub. Your bare feet scrape against the concrete and you turn the corner, ready to shout but no sound comes out of your throat. Just as you make it two long strides, his lightning fast reflexes have already caught up to you. Jungwon grabs your wrist and squeezes it tight, and you feel a sharp pain along with the popping sound it creates.
With the momentum he has, he slings you to the ground. Your face meets concrete and you feel warm, wet liquid on your skin. You blink and blink to realize that your vision has gone completely dark. You’re hit, again and again, but at some point you don’t hear his words anymore. You feel like you could throw up. You wonder if you do when you feel your stomach contract around nothing. Hit after hit and wound after wound, eventually you stop registering it.
Deep down, you try to comfort yourself. He doesn’t mean it. He’ll take you back, and once he sobers up he will realize that he fucked up majorly. He’ll cry and grovel and really apologize, promising to change his ways. Sunoo will patch you up and stitch over the wounds that need it the most, just as he has before. You’ll laugh about the situation in retrospect, cry about it some, but ultimately end up in Jungwon’s bed. Where else would you even go? You have no money, no job, no way of contacting anybody, so surely, surely, he’ll accept you back. You crack a smile at the thought and wonder if you’ll have to beg him to take you back or if he’ll take you into his arms himself.
You’re not sure how long you’re on the concrete for. When you lift your head you hear a loud, pulsing sound, accompanied by a sharp pain that encourages you to put your head back down. You do, comforted knowing that Jungwon will come back, he will come back, he will come back.
Two sets of footsteps find your way to your field of view. They’re blurry, and for a second you think, those don’t look like Jungwon’s shoes, and you begin to hear muffled voices. The ringing in your ears is so loud, but their voices are louder too. Why are they speaking so loud? Are they really yelling or is it just this splitting headache? God, you don’t know, but as you open your mouth to speak and the voices get louder, it stops. Everything stops.
You have finally lost consciousness.
You recognize the sensation of being in a car, and you even smell cologne. It’s unfamiliar. You don’t fight to keep your eyes open, instead succumbing to the murmur of voices and warmth of the car that contrasts from the shockingly cold concrete, and let yourself drift off into sleep.

When you wake up, you’re propped haphazardly against a wall. Your eyes crack open, and notice a well-furnished office, complete with leather chairs and a desk that was probably hand-crafted and expensive. You’re alone in the room, and your eyes flicker to the windows, the door, and then to your beaten and bruised frame. If you looked rough before, you certainly look awful now, and you feel even worse than you look. You are definitely sobered-up now, though, enough to realize that you are not at home, and definitely not at the ENHA base.
Three figures enter the room, and you wonder if you should react or if you’re even in any imminent danger. You close your eyes again, wondering if you can get away with pretending to be asleep so you can feel out the situation.
“Hyunjin, check her pulse,” you hear. Warm breath is on yours in an instance, and you fight your heart to stop beating as fast as it is. Two fingertips press against your neck, cold yet firm.
“Good morning,” the voice whispers against your frame, loud enough for only you to hear. You don’t react outwardly, but your heart beats just a little bit faster. Is this man going to tell him that you’re awake?
“She’s fine,” the man says. “Her pulse is stronger than before. She’s lost a lot of blood but she’ll be okay.” The man’s presence leaves yours, and you rely on just your hearing to tell that he is back on the other side of the room quicker than your heartbeat. “So, what’s your angle here? I know you’re not keen on helping beaten and bloody women in alleyways too often, so I’m sure there’s some sort of play here.”
“Yang Jungwon’s girlfriend. Or, I suppose you can say ex-girlfriend, if she’s smart” a man says..
“Are you insane? You’re just trying to get on his nerves!” says the man that checked your pulse, Hyunjin.
“I suppose you could say that. Binnie and I found her about a mile from the ENHA base, beaten practically within an inch of her life. If we’re smart, I think we use her as leverage against him. We keep her, use her to piss him off. If we had the upper hand before, we definitely have it now,” he explains.
You try not to furrow your eyebrows in confusion.
“You should have called me, for fucks sake! This was a major decision for you to make on our behalf and not consult me on. It’s my job.” Hyunjin is furious, evident from his rapid speech and loud tone, but he sounds professional nonetheless. “You don’t even know if he wants her back. She could be worth less than trash in his eyes, and that’s the best case scenario. He did beat her, after all. Worst case scenario? She could be bugged, or a spy! Did you think about that? Chan, this is unbelievable.” Your eyes shoot open instinctively, and you lurch forward, holding onto your stomach and fight yourself from hurling on the spot.
“Chan…” you rasp out. Your throat burns… You wonder if it was from Jungwon’s tight grasp or if you had been screaming without realizing it. Now you’ve realized the exact scenario that you’ve ended up in. Bang Christopher Chan is the leader of SKZ… the rival mafia gang. You had only heard rumors about the man since being involved with Jungwon, but they’re enough that you’re shaking involuntarily. You know he’s dangerous, and you find yourself wishing you paid more attention to mafia politics to really get a sense of what you’re getting yourself into. Chan is the one that brought you here, and now you’re defenseless, vulnerable, and in his territory.
“Easy there,” a voice calls. A stranger approaches you and puts a hefty hand on your shoulder; when you meet his gaze, you immediately flinch. The man is very well-built with broad shoulders and large biceps that counteract his shorter frame. A black compression shirt hugs his skin, showing off his muscles. You don’t know anything about the man but everything about him screams bodyguard.
Your eyes meet the man sitting in the leather chair at the desk, Bang Chan. You can tell just by the way he carries himself that he is an important man and he knows it. His gaze is intense but he smirks at you as if he’s amused. He is also fairly muscular, wearing all black but dressed nicer than the stocky bodyguard. His hair is dark brown and falls neatly around his face, parted down the middle with strands falling loosely around his ears. He is attractive like a magnet, you realize, when you know you should be experiencing repulsion.
You realize everybody is watching your every move, and you feel pressured to say something, to perform, even.
“Hey,” you say, and it comes out weaker and raspier than you would have hoped. Chan’s mouth lifts into a smile. “Y/N L/N, it’s a pleasure.”
You rack your mind for the right words to say. “Are you… going to kill me?”
He lets out a hefty laugh, one that makes you feel stupid. You feel like it was a valid question, but let out a nervous chuckle at his response.
“If you give me a reason to. But we don’t want that, right sweetheart?” You nod in agreement, face turning red at the demeaning lilt to his words. The man finally rises from his chair and is in front of you in just two long steps. He crouches down but still towers above you, leaving you feeling even more defenseless and intimidated. His hand reaches to stroke a strand of hair behind your ear, and his thumb reaches to lift up your chin and meet his gaze. You want to look anywhere but, but you’re even more scared of the consequences. Your eyes meet, and his gaze is so intense that it makes your skin crawl. His expression is now devoid of any emotion, and he is dead serious.
“You almost died,” he says. He tells you this as casually as one would talk about the weather. “Jungwon almost killed you. You would have died on that sidewalk if we didn’t find you and administer emergency medicinal treatment.” His fingers tighten around your jaw, keeping your gaze locked onto his, as if to say, ‘I am the most important person and you will listen to me when I am talking to you.’
“He wouldn’t… It was an accident. He was really drunk, and I–” You’re cut off when his fingers trail lower, reaching your throat. Your breath hitches, unsure of what he’s going to do and you feel terror overwhelm you from what you know the man has the capacity to do to you. Two fingers prod at your throat, poking at what is most definitely a very nasty bruise. You cry out, hands reaching to soothe the spot that he had just touched.
“You don’t really believe that, do you? If so, you’re more stupid than I thought.” He stands, leaving your mouth agape. “You should look at yourself. You’re in really bad shape. We were able to stop some of your bleeding from that nasty head injury you got yourself, but damn. Do you even know how long you were out for? It’s been at least half a day.”
Half a day? You gawk at the man and say nothing. The other two men have decided to stay silent for the conversation, doing not much more than observing your sorry state. You decide you don’t want to speak much more on the subject, and change the topic instead. “What do you want with me?” you swallow.
“You’re going to stay here, at the SKZ base while you recover. I’m sure you heard, but you’re going to help us get the ENHA situation under control. You’re leverage.”
“You’re keeping me? So I can’t leave? Please,” you start to plead. “You’re not serious.”
“Dead serious,” Chan replies. “It’s not like you really want to go back, right? If you get beaten like this again, there’s probably not going to be anybody to save you. You might die,” he blinks.
“It’s not going to happen again,” you all but spit out. You decide it’s time to test your body and stand up, and though your bones and muscles ache, you manage to get onto your two feet. “It was one time, a mistake. I’m sorry, but you’re out of line, and I would really like to get back home.”
“Out of line?” Chan challenges.
“I’m sorry to say this, Y/N, but I don’t think Chan is out of line,” Hyunjin speaks. You finally get a chance to look at the man. His dark hair frames his face, resting just past his chin. At first glance he appears more delicate than the other two men, but his muscles are apparent the longer you stare at the fitted t-shirt he sports. He’s very pretty, a statement usually not used to describe someone in his profession. He has very full lips and a perfectly chiseled and angular jawline, sharp nose and long, feminine eyelashes. As he steps forward, he continues on his tangent. “Not only that, but this isn’t the first time Jungwon has hurt you, is it?”
Your breath hitches as you find the words to defend yourself. You’re cut off by the man who is very adamant about what he is about to say.
“Your record shows that you have been in the hospital two times in the last year. Are you trying to tell us that a concussion and broken wrist are just coincidences?” You stay silent as the man’s eyes scan up and down your frame. You wonder how he knows so much, as someone that was arguing minutes ago about how your presence was a mistake. He’s done his research on you for sure, and you realize it’s probably his job to know everything about everyone. That’s probably why he was arguing with Chan about not consulting him. You try not to think about what else he knows.
“If you stay here, we can guarantee your safety. We don’t even know if Jungwon has plans to try to take you back, but if he does, we are sure that this will be the safest place for you. We know you don’t have a job or a place to stay out there, but here you’ll have a room and necessities. And you will be benefiting us as we get the chance to get a rise out of their group, and the opportunity to use this advantage to put them in their place.” Chan seems sure in his decision, and you find something reassuring about the firmness in his tone and his ability to make quick decisions, knowing that his leadership abilities are one of the reasons why SKZ is the top mafia group in the country, ENHA’s rival. You step forward and wobble, and strong arms steady your frame.
“Okay,” you whisper. The decision feels wrong, like a betrayal, but you still feel dizzy and unsure, so you decide to put your safety first.
“You still need some rest. We can escort you to your new room and give you some time to patch yourself up, shower, and get a change of clothes. We definitely suggest tending to your wounds,” Chan says.
“My room? Are you sure this is okay?” The bodyguard wraps an arm around your shoulder, allowing you to lean on his dependable and sturdy build, and you let yourself do so.
“More than sure. Make yourself at home. You’ll be here a while.” Chan says. He finally returns to his desk and sits in his chair, hands intertwining with one another as if he’s deep in thought. “Changbin will show you the way. Don’t do anything stupid, and you and I will have a talk later tonight. Look forward to it, sweetheart. Hyunjin, call the others for a meeting. You’re dismissed.”
And with that, you and Changbin, the aforementioned bodyguard, are left to find the way to your room. You stumble but he is strong, and with his arms around you the walk to your room is not a struggle. He does stay eerily silent, which you welcome so that you can think. You arrive at your room and thank him, stepping into the space and shutting the door behind you.
The room is not huge but it’s comfortable. It’s definitely larger than any room you’ve ever lived in before, and it’s nice to finally have your own space seeing as you previously shared a room with Jungwon. The room is obviously set up to be a guest bedroom, with cream colored walls and a large bed in its center adorned with a white quilt and decorative pillows. It’s simple but you’ll certainly make-do. You look around and notice a large rattan wardrobe stocked with a variety of clothes in different styles and sizes. Some of the fabric looks like it’s large enough to swallow you while others would just barely fit. You hum, content, and pick out a clean outfit that suits your comfort levels, even if it's not the prettiest. On your way to the bathroom you're surprised to notice a small vanity, stocked with makeup. You realize this guest room is probably for guests of SKZ, maybe their family members if any of them had any that would come to visit, hence the women’s clothing. Either way, the makeup will come in handy later to cover your bruises when you need to.
And on that note, you finally allow yourself to look in the mirror, and you gasp.
You have never seen your hair so matted and disheveled, and your head is stained in your blood. A bandage covers the top left of your head, and you uncover it to observe a nasty scar that had been treated with some kind of ointment. In addition, your bottom lip is busted, and you are adorned with all sorts of scrapes and scars and bruises all over your body. Your throat is covered in nasty dark hues of purple and blue that are sure to only get worse. Your wrist had received the same treatment, sporting some nasty bruises, and you recall when it had made a noise that resembled a pop yesterday. You roll the joint, testing the waters, and groan out in pain. At best, it’s sprained. You try not to think about it, and finally get into the shower, noting the first aid kit on the counter.
The water feels nice on your skin, though it stings most of your scrapes and wounds. You welcome it nonetheless. You allow yourself a moment to cry, letting your tears mix in with the shower stream, wondering if this is the only chance you’ll be able to show how vulnerable you are. You don’t know much about SKZ and their men, and you’re sure you should tidy yourself up and do your best to pretend you’re strong, showing no weakness. When you comb through your hair you decide that’s just what you’ll do. You already look more presentable than before when you step out of the shower, as you have rid yourself of the blood, sweat, dirt and grime that littered your skin. And as you step into the new clothes you had found for yourself, you really do feel much better. You take the time to sanitize some of your worse wounds, paying special attention to your head that met the concrete last night. You cover yourself with bandages and decide to spend some of your time putting on makeup. It’s the only way to cover the bruises, you decide, and you won’t let any new members that haven’t seen your sorry-state know that you’re here because you were beaten and weak. If any one of them notices your vulnerability, there’s no telling that they won’t prey on it. So after about an hour, your skin looks close to its normal self again thanks to your expertise in color correction under your layers of foundation and concealer. You smile at your handiwork – if you weren’t looking for the bruises and scrapes, you certainly wouldn’t be able to find it. Even your makeup-covered throat and wrist, which had gotten the worst of it all, really look fine.
You leave your room at last, and it has been some hours since your previous meeting with Bang Chan and the others. You roll your shoulders back and make your way around the house. The intention here isn’t snooping, you tell yourself, but you desperately need to find food. You don’t have to look too hard, as you stumble into the kitchen.
You make direct eye contact with two men that you haven’t seen before. Their eyes flicker to you and their conversation stills, and you know you’ve interrupted them.
You’re going to be here a while, right? You suppose it’s time to introduce yourself.

“thank you for your help,” the old man says with a bow.
“you’re welcome, i really hope everything goes well now,” heesung says with a bright smile.
he stares up at the sky, it’s a chilly morning. his cheeks are flushed with a red hue as he walks down the street. another case closed, he’s thankful. he’s barely making ends meet and now he’ll be in a decent financial spot for a while.
once he’s home he’ll be on to the next case. he’s making a twenty minute walk home, plus the ten it takes him to stop by the store.
by the time he’s home it’s dark. the street light flickers and he happily announces his arrival.
“ma! i won the case!” he announces happily.
his grandmother claps her hands as he exits the kitchen. “oh sung! your mother would be so proud if she were here!”
heesung’s smile tightens. he never really answers those remarks. there’s no point. he loved his mother when she was alive, same for his father. yet, they weren’t very supportive of his career choice.
“it’s expensive, sung-ah,” they’d say. “why not choose something else?”
maybe they would be supportive to see he actually did make it. the fact that they would’ve only when he is being successful is what hurts. they would’ve complained about it even when the tuition money came out of his own pockets. his whole life he’s grown up thinking he had to limit himself within the hole in their pockets.
he had enough. growth is done out of sheer will, desperation and self worth. survival is done by your own merits alone.
“we had a good day today at the restaurant,” his grandmother says. she must have been talking the whole time heesung zoned out. “but i’m afraid i’m going to have to let go of your friend jay. i can’t afford to pay for his hours anymore, business isn’t doing as good as it did back then…” she says sadly, “most of the earnings go to the bills…”
heesung stares at her, heart heavy. if only he had enough money to help her.
“i know ma…” he takes her hand and soothes her with a small rub from his thumb, “jay won’t mind, he was planning on getting a job closer to his place. he technically has been working with you since we’ve been in high school… it’s been almost 8 years?”
she sniffles, “well… i’ll talk to him tomorrow… i guess i’m just sad since the first one to leave was you… he’s almost like a son to me too…”
his heart throbs. “i’ll go shower, okay?”
she nods, “alrighty…”
she watches him leave with a saddened smile. knowing he’s starving, she makes him a plate of food. heesung comes back out a few minutes later, freshened up and hair damp still. he has a few folders under his arm.
“you’re going to keep working? aren’t you tired?”
“i’m okay ma, the shower freshened me up,” he says with a smile and settle’s everything on the table. “i get off early from the office tomorrow, i’ll pass by the restaurant for my lunch and i’ll help you out if you want.”
she stares at him, “only if you can.”
“i can and i want to.” he says before digging in to the files.
the problem with heesung is that when he starts his filing or researching, he does it for hours. at some point his grandmother wishes him good night and he’s still swarming in his own choice. it’s around 1 AM when he finally wraps it up. he washes the dishes, not wishing for his grandmother to worry about that when she wakes and then heads to bed.
he’s used to the lack of sleep, normally running on 4 to 5 hours of sleep daily and either coffee or an energy drink.
he’s running late to the office too. a natural occurrence. running short on cash normally causes him to walk… in this case run, to the office.
“ah, you’re a little over ten minutes,” sunoo teases when he walks inside the office.
“if jungwon fires me i wouldn’t hold it against him,” heesung breathes out as he wipes away the bead of sweat on his forehead.
“jungwon would rather you work from home than come here, even he hates it here.”
“i don’t want to work at home yet,” heesung argues, walking to his office, sunoo following suit. “i know i have to care for my grandma but she’s perfectly capable of herself right now. he already lets me leave for a few hours here and there to check on her at the restaurant.”
“that reminds me,” sunoo says, sitting on the chair opposite of heesung. “i want her bulgogi with lettuce. when am i getting that.”
heesung pauses, looking over at him with a look. “do you have bulgogi money?”
“grandma lee never charges me! how dare you take advantage of a broke receptionist.”
“well then tell her, not me!” heesung huffs, “aish. and get out, i have a few works to do before leaving at twelve.”
“i doubt you’ll leave at twelve, you always leave about an hour later-“
“out!”
sunoo sticks out his tongue before leaving.
heesung shakes his head, smiling a bit as he logs in to his computer to start his work. later, after hours of investing into it, he wraps it up at around 12:10. the time bitters his mood, realizing sunoo is indeed right. not exactly an hour later but still not on time.
still, leaving early is a privilege no one else has here, so he packs up his things and heads out.
he’s walking down the busy street, lunch rush evident outside the block just as it is when he enters it. he bows politely at some of the market people before calling his grandmother.
“ma~,” he sing songs when she picks up.
“yes?” she asks softly, almost as if she were whispering.
“i’m on my way, do you need me to pick up anything-“
“heesung maybe you should head back to the office.” she says, her tone strange.
“ah, but i said i’d help you today-“
“heesung just listen to me and get back to the office. i don’t need to here today, my love,” she catches a sweet tone quickly, as if seeking any way to convince him.
“huh? ma, why are you being so-“ heesung trails off as he nears the restaurant. there’s suspicious men out, he panics. “ma i’m already here, why are there so many men-“
“who are you talking to?” a rough voice says.
without a shred of hesitation, heesung sprints. he pushes past the men at the gates. when one of them pulls at his bag strap, he throws a punch at their nose before continuing his path. his heart is rabbiting in his ribcage. he truly is taken aback by what’s happening.
“ma? are you-“ he gets punched from the side.
if it weren’t for his quick reflexes he’d probably be on the floor, but he throws a punch right back the guy. a kick to the stomach and throat is what gets the guy on the floor. yet, before he can turn to his sweet grandmother, a cold metal item is pressed against his nape. he freezes.
“now tell me who the hell are you and why you knocked out two of my men already.”
heesung would’ve peed himself from fear if it weren’t for the anger and adrenaline. “your men fucking suck at taking a punch.”
“he’s my grandson!” mrs.lee cries out from a table.
“give me one good reason why i shouldn’t shoot him right now.” the man gruffs, a rough hand grabbing heesung’s arm, the grip painful.he moves heesung around to face the elder woman, “you got one minute.”
she’s practically pale from fear. “he’s a lawyer! he’ll help me pay the amount you're asking of me. h-he can double it if you’d even like.”
the fuck? heesung looks at her like she’s insane.
“a lawyer eh?” the man shoves heesung forward, harshly knocking him into the bench seats on the table his grandmother is in.
heesung catches himself and glares back at the man.
“listen, the rent for the restaurant is already five grand, bills and utilities included. but we won over this turf already, so you have to pay us to keep your little restaurant around. sadly, we don’t really want you to pay it, we’re buying this place and putting someone who works under us to have this as our meeting place. plus, your grandmother is old, she should retire already.”
heesung grits his teeth.
“you’ve got a few days to pay this months rent, our tax included, before we kick you out. and you either get kicked out without owing us money or you get licked out owing us the money, your choice.” he glares down at heesung, “and careful trying to go against us, it won’t be pretty.” he turns towards his men and gestures for their leave.
“they want to close the restaurant,” she says with teary eyes as soon as her and heesung are alone.
heesung stares at her before ripping the paper out of her hands. the demand is absurd. it’s sketchy but oh so believable. they know what they’re doing and exactly how to do it too. a few days? how many exactly? they don’t seem very lenient, if anything heesung is assuming three days at most.
“ma, this is…” he pauses, he can’t be brutal to her. “i’ll take care of it ma, remember, i’m the best lawyer you have ever met.”
she grabs his hand and rubs his knuckles with the pad of her thumb, her tears dripping down her face. “oh heesung…”
heesung is running to the office again. he had missed the bus, having checked and double, triple, quadruple checked the demand and whatever else is in that stupid paper they received last night. he looks horrendous, barely put together.
his grandmother had woken up as soon as she heard him cruse and run around to get ready. despite her emotional state, she prepared him a cup of coffee and cut him a slice of cake (she said it’s for sunoo but heesung doesn’t think the guy deserves it-)
heesung crashes face forward into a wall. actually, the wall isn’t that hard. he curses and almost loses his balance when he bounces back-
“woah there, you okay?” a voice asks, a hand coming behind his lower back to help him regain his balance.
“ah, my bad, i didn’t mean to!” heesung winces, seeing how the guy’s shirt is stained with coffee. the cake he was carrying in a small plate flew out to the floor but not without smearing itself on the man’s shirt.
all worry and panic leaves heesung when a few fingers grab his chin and force him to look to the side. is the guy fucking inspecting him?!
“that’s a nasty bruise you have there,” you say, darkened eyes gazing upon the purple thing.
heesung slaps your hand away, “couldn’t tell. please step aside, i have places to be.”
“oh? where would a pretty thing like you go in such a hurry?”
“none of your business,” heesung grits out.
this guy, heesung thinks bitterly in his mind.
“well i do have to remind you that you spilled coffee over my very expensive shirt. not just coffee, look i have chocolate smeared over right here-“
“okay i get it!” heesung groans as he watches you point out the very obvious. “i don’t got money though-“
“yet, you have coffee to go and-“
“my grandmother has a restaurant, i can get these things you know,” heesung grumbles, looking around in thought. “i could invite you to dinner.”
“oh a date,” you grin stupidly.
“forget it-“
“ah but you see this stain won’t let me forget-“
“argh!” heesung groans, slamming his head against the wall.
you watch him with amusement, “hey, now. don’t go messing up your whole face, i like what i see.”
“you’re an ass,” heesung huffs, “look, i really can’t entertain you for long. this is my grandmother’s restaurant,” he takes out a card and hands it to him, heesung always carries them around, never wasting an opportunity to promote. “just go there and tell her i invited you and she’ll understand.”
“oh? i won’t have the pleasure of seeing you?” you frown.
“hell no,” heesung blurts out. “i mean-“ ugh, maybe he should you look sketchy as fuck. “fine. i get off late today though.”
“just give me an estimated time,” you say casually, putting the card away in the pocket of your shirt. “and your name.”
“eight thirty,” he says. he eyes you before going, “heesung.”
you hum, eyeing him. he really is beautiful, how sad that he has a bruise on his cheek. cute too, with his furrowed brows and glare. “quite late for dinner, but i’ll take it.”
whatever, heesung huffs. “now if you excuse me i have to go.”
he walks around you before jogging back his path to the office. he’s so glad the coffee fell on you and not on him, as much as that sounds horrible. he can’t help it.
by the time heesung snaps out of all the work he’s in, it’s when his grandmother calls him. he curses through his teeth, realizing itself 9 PM already. is the guy there? shit, did he do something? he really was sketchy wasn’t he-
“heesung, my dear,” she says sweetly, “will you come by the restaurant?”
“is everything okay ma?” he asks immediately, ready to stand and run out without putting anything away.
“yes, yes. all good, but there’s a man that walked in earlier and asked if you were here already,” she says.
he swallows, “what did he look like?”
damn it, why is he asking? he doesn’t even remember what you look like, just that you’re a little taller than him but it’s not exactly by much. at least he doesn’t think so. yeah, he really can’t remember.
“mm, he was rather short, boxy and had a suit on.”
okay that definitely isn’t you though. “uh, i’ll head out right now.” there’s a silence on the other side of the phone after he announces that. he stops packing and questions her. “ma?”
“it’s… going to be hard isn’t it?” grandmother asks.
heesung fidgets, “don’t worry about it ma, i’m coming back to the office tomorrow. i’ll leave really early, this will be over as soon as possible.”
“okay, be safe on your way.”
“will do.”
would the men really try anything outside the restaurant? he genuinely doesn’t know. he can’t help but glance around every now and then as he goes down the street. it’s crowded tonight but even in movies a crowd is the best distraction. ah, he really is screwed isn’t he? he has no evidence, no information.
he really won’t be of any use, will he? even for his grandmother?
heesung stares at his shoes as they walk on the pavement. what will he do? what can he do?
he looks up when he’s finally close to the restaurant, turning the corner. seems like no customers tonight- his heart drops when he’s yanked from behind. he expected a knife or a gun pressed against him but when his eyes catch your devilish smile, he gets angry.
“FUCK,” heesung gasps, looking at you like you’re insane. he shoves you before yelling, “the fuck you scared me for?”
you chuckle, amused at his reaction. “you must have a lot on your mind to have not noticed you even pushed me aside a minute ago.”
“what?” he goes droopy, looking back at the path he came. there’s a car parked down the street there. did he really not see you? “well, whatever. come on, let’s get something to eat.”
“you’re hungry?” you ask, enjoying his personality already.
he guides you past the gates, but something catches your eye when he pushes one of the gate doors to a complete openness.
“oh heesung! you’re here!” a voice chirps happily from a few feet away.
“ah, ma i brought someone with me and we’ll get something to eat if you don’t mind.” he says, bowing at her figure that pops up at the door.
“of course, you don’t have to ask for permission.”
heesung smiles brightly at her before turning to you. you take him aback, however.
“may i speak with you out here for a moment?” you say, cold and with a dark expression.
heesung stares at you, confused at how quickly your mood changed. “uh, sure?” he turns to his grandmother who’s sweeping, “ma, we’ll be outside, give us a minute!”
“okay, love,” she says, continuing her way to sweep away.
heesung follows you when you take a few steps away. “what is it? my grandmas cooking is good, don’t tell me you’re backing out just because it’s not a high end restaurant-“
“did you get that bruise from a man named si-hyeong?”
everything shifts under heesung. what the hell are you talking about? he takes a moment to eye you up and down. one; he doesn’t know your name. two; who the hell is si-hyeong? three; what the fuck.
“uh…”
“better yet, did one of his men hurt you?”
“i don’t know who your talking about- and, why are you asking-“
you point at a small graffiti design on the floor, just under the gate door and extremely close to its hinges. how the hell you saw that, he doesn’t know. even he can’t exactly see it that well.
“tell me, did they threaten your grandmother?”
heesung snaps his eyes back at you. “i… yeah…”
with a nod, you look around. “may i ask what you work as?”
heesung narrows his eyes. “first, tell me your name. don’t lie to me either.”
you stare at him, “my name is l/n y/n.”
“okay, and before i tell you what i do depends on what you tell me.”
a small smile plays on your lips. “i’m simply from an organization that can help you keep your grandmother’s restaurant and get those men off your necks depending on your answer.”
heesung chews on the inside of his cheek. you really are sketchy. “i’m a lawyer.”
“who’s barely making ends meet if i remember correctly,” you tease.
“fuck you,” heesung huffs.
“well, lawyer heesung,” you say, stepping real close to heesung’s personal bubble. “if you help me, i’ll help you. i’m assuming they’ve given you a short amount of time to pay whatever absurd thing they’ve requested.”
heesung eyes you before nodding, for some reason he feels like you’re decently trustworthy. “yeah… but what is it?” you raise a brow, he elaborates. “what do you need?”
“a couple of things,” you smile, “but first i need to speak to the sweet lady that owns this place.”
heesung grants you just that.
“you’re quite the handsome man, are you a friend of heesung?” grandmother lee asks.
you stare at the elderly lady, eyes narrow. “you could say that.”
she smiles, placing a cup of coffee in front of you. you watch the steam before gently taking it, bowing respectfully at her in thanks. heesung sighs, sitting next to you on the small couch.
“mrs.lee, i’m working with heesung in your case, i had a question to make.” you say decisively.
she looks at you with a startled expression. “oh! go ahead,” she smiles.
“when did they come to threaten you about paying more in your bills?” you eye her, hands on the coffee mug. “on your rent?”
heesung looks at you annoyingly before facing his sweet grandmother with a soft expression. he doesn’t know why a knot forms in his throat when she stops smiling.
“yes… a man came in a few weeks ago, maybe even a month or two ago, saying i had to pay more. an absurd price….” she looks down.
heesung’s brows furrow. when did this happen? why hasn’t she told him? he naturally looks over at you, who has an indecipherable expression.
“and did you pay it?”
her eyes water, “i had to… he and his men said if i didn’t then they’d hurt my boys.”
“your boys?” you ask, unsure of who she means other than heesung.
“my best friend works with her, she technically raised us both,” he elaborates gently. “ma, why didn’t you tell me? is that why you told jay to-“
“you won’t have to worry about those men coming to threaten you anymore,” you say, eyes boring into her. “because i know they have.”
she nods, confessing the issue. heesung can’t believe this. his poor grandmother has been suffering from such goading. he won’t stand by it. with a kiss of reassurance on the forehead he sends her to bed, staying back to watch you go. you ended up not getting a meal, requesting a coffee instead. you had promised her to return soon for a meal though.
“so we start tomorrow, right?” he says as he guides you out the house.
the height difference is a little noticeable as you stand by the gate and look down at him. the street light casting a shadow on heesung from your frame. your eyes are intense, he realizes they always are.
“i’ll pick you up?” you smile, expression changing.
he’s unsure if it’s creepy or amusing. “uh, i’ll get there on bus. just send me the address.”
“it’s really far.”
“yeah.”
“you could get lost, it’s also really secluded.”
“okay.”
“it would be more efficient if i send someone to pick you up-“
“i don’t care! just send me the address! i’ll be there at 9 exact! don’t look down on me you piece of shit.” he huffs before spinning around and leaving you outside the house gates.
you smile as his figure disappears inside the house. it might seem you’ll get more than what you’re looking for.

love your fics so much sorry if i bothered you
🕷️A/N: IM SORRY IT TOOK ME THIS LONG TO ANSWER YOU I REALLY AM 😭🙏 I HOPE YOU FORGIVE ME AND LIKE THIS ☹️☹️ I'll make a part of this if people like it and make it more yandere.
CHANCE
🕷️Warning: YANDERE THEMES , mentions of gun shot
🕷️ Pairing: mafia!Jay × doctor!reader
🕷️Synopsis:In the heart of a bustling city, Dr. (Reader) a renowned surgeon known for her unwavering commitment to saving lives, finds herself entangled in an unexpected situation when a notorious mafia leader, Jay Park, is brought into her emergency room, bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound and what's worse is that , he gets obessed with her.
It was a usual day for (reader). The sun shining brightly, doing it's job perfectly showcasing her . How she was at her workplace again right on time . Very punctual indeed. With being punctual (reader) was also very hardworking.
She's a doctor at the be:lift hospital. She loves her job . It gives her a sense of comfort knowing she helps people heal , maybe there's a chance that she would save someone from dying.
Life is a very valuable thing which you can get just once . There may be second chances and she's here to give people just that. Second chance to live their life again , this time while taking care of their mistakes , learning from them and not repeating them again.
Second chances , very fascinating and amusing aren't they? Some people get second chance while some don't , it's upon fate .
Back to (reader) , she had just completed an operation successfully , saving yet another life. She felt at ease knowing she gave someone another chance to live .
Suddenly her peace was interrupted by loud noises , people were screaming in a hospital? Oh how rude - she thought. She was going to go stop them and ask why they were screaming in a hospital in the first place , they should know that it might disturb the patients.
But just as she was about to open the door she heard footsteps , they were getting louder as seconds passed by implying that someone was coming towards her . They also sounded like they were in a hurry . Maybe someone is very serious! - a thought crossed her mind and without any further ado she opened the door only to be my by 6 men , all in a similar attire : a black shiny and shimmery blazer , colour like that of a black hole with shining black boots where one could see their reflection. Upon studying their faces , she could sense they were panicking.
“Are you the doctor? Hurry up , he got shot!” one of the guy stated. He looked young yet authoritative, like he had some power.
(Reader) quickly nodded , it was about someone's life! She has to save him. She called out for some nurses and took the injured patient to the operation ward while the other waited outside for them.
He got shot? How would he get shot? He isn't dressed up like a cop. Is he a criminal? Her eyes widen at the thought but she wasn't sure about the assumption she's making . Should she prioritize saving the life of a potential criminal , or adhere strictly to her oath as a healer?
As Dr. L/n and her team work tirelessly to stabilize the patient's condition, tension fills the air. The presence of the person's six brothers, each with a intimidating aura as his own, looms over the hospital.
As the operation progresses, Dr. L/n is faced with unexpected challenges. The bullet has caused severe damage, and the patient's condition deteriorates rapidly. Despite her expertise, she fears that his chances of survival are slim.
With time running out, Dr. l/n makes a bold decision. Drawing upon all her skills and determination, she pushes herself to the limit, refusing to give up on her patient. In a high-stakes gamble, she performs a risky procedure that could either save the patient's life or seal his fate.
As the operation reaches its critical moment, a hush falls over the operating room. Every second feels like an eternity as Dr. L/n and her team fight to wrestle the patient back from the brink of death.
Finally, the monitors beep with renewed vigor, signaling a glimmer of hope. Against all odds, his heart begins to beat steadily once more, and his breathing stabilizes.
The surgery is a success.
A sigh of relief escapes her as she removes her mask to breath properly.
----
She goes out to inform the six individuals outside the room , awaiting for their companion to be saved.
“The surgery was a success. The patient is out of danger now”
She could hear multiple sighs of relief. They all felt like they could finally breath again , their tensed shoulders relaxed a bit after hearing the good news.
“You'll have to come with me now , I have some questions to ask" said Dr. l/n . She needed to know what exactly caused this.
“We need to see hyung first” the young yet intimidating guy proclaims.
“sure this way , but only two of you can enter as we can not have he patient feeling overwhelmed” (reader) sighs yet expresses her duties.
“I"ll go check on him guys” states the young guy
“I"ll accompany you !" Another voice asserts . He looked mature , maybe he is the eldest .
Dr l/n leads the way to the operating room where he patient lies . Upon reaching the guys rush towards him while she stays back just to observe.
Meanwhile Jay finally regained his consciousness back and opened his eyes , to be met with a sight of an angel , or so he thought.
Was he already in heaven? Oh he can't be with the number of crimes he has committed. So who is this angel like individual?
Upon seeing his eyes open , the other two individuals rush towards him.
“Jay! Are you okay?” questions the elder guy
Oh so his name is Jay - thinks (reader)
The younger one hits him “ofcourse he is not fine heeseung hyung , would you be fine if you were shot?”
“I'm just trying to be caring Jungwon!”
There goes their introduction too.
Despite the chaos and danger that surrounds him, Jay is captivated by her grace and skill, feeling a stirring within him that he's never experienced before.
As Jay awakens in the recovery room, his thoughts are consumed by Dr. L/n . Entranced by her beauty and kindness, he becomes obsessed with the idea of making her his own, convinced that she is the one who can bring light into his dark world afterall she's the one who brought him back to life right?
Jay is occupied with the thoughts of his newfound obsession, but his is brought back to reality by his two companions inquiring about his condition. To which he replies that it's fine because he can't seem to focus on anything else than the angel standing infront of his eyes.
He's observing her - Her beautiful face as if carved especially by God , every inch of her face and body screams perfection to him. Her shiny black lucious hair which turns brownish under the lights , her small button nose , or her eyes - she possesses brown almond-shaped eyes, framed delicately by medium-length eyelashes that accentuate her gaze. Her lips, adorned with a soft shade of pink, exude a subtle allure, adding a touch of warmth to her features.
Oh he was down bad for her . Was this what people refer to as love at first sight?
A knock interrupts all their activities.
“We all need you outside , the patient needs to rest and we need your statement” says a nurse
They bid their byes and inform him that he'll be out soon but all he can think about is how to get his hands on his angel and make her his.
----
The interrogation is stopped. The individuals were influential people and so they can do whatever they wished and they did not wish for this information to be out so they hushed everyone with their power. They wanted jay to be safe so they commanded for him to be shifted at their house where a doctor would help him if needed and fortunately for Jay , (reader) was chosen since she operated on him.
----
The next day , Jay is shifted to the nursery that is located in his big mansion. (Reader) was surprised at how big the mansion was , so they were rich rich.
Upon entering she also noticed alot of individuals wearing black blazer with guns in their hands . Were they that rich that they needed bouncers? The girl thought .
She helped Jay get comfortable and brought him lunch in time . While feeding him , she decided to interrogate him personally, maybe he could provide her with some information.
(Reader): Mr. Jay, can you recount the events leading to your injury?
Jay: It was a confrontation with a rival organization. We were negotiating a business deal when things turned violent.
(Reader): Were there any specific triggers that escalated the situation?
Jay: It seemed like a premeditated ambush. They were armed and ready when we arrived at the meeting point.
(Reader): Did you have any indication of hostility prior to the encounter?
Jay: Not explicitly, but tensions have been escalating between our groups for some time.
(Reader): I see. And how did you manage to escape the altercation?
Jay: I made a split-second decision to flee when the gunfire erupted, sustaining this injury in the process.
(Reader) : and what exactly do you do if I may ask?
Jay: You'll get know soon.
He expressed making (reader) frown . Why is it not the right time? What does he do that can't be spoken casually? Her thoughts are interrupted when someone comes barging in the room.
“Jay hyung I'm glad you are alright, we are planning to make them regret their actions by acquiring their company and killing them”
Her eyes widen at the word killing that the younger individual just slipped so casually. Was she in danger? Are these criminals?
“You should really read the room and check your surroundings before you speak Niki” said Jay rather calmly .
“i know I said soon but i didn't know it would be this soon , but now you know I guess. I am Jay Park - a mafia , a criminal or whatever your vocabulary describes individuals like me, but don't be scared , we won't harm you” he said with a eeire smile
All the words went from one ear and escaped through another , all (reader) heard was that he's a mafia. Confused and terrified, she finds herself thrust into a nightmare as Jay reveals his true identity but she knew better , she needed to act smartly and calmly. She took a deep breath .
“That's none of my business Jay , although I'm glad that I'm reassured about my safety”
Despite her initial fear, she senses a vulnerability within him so she doesn't ponder further . Niki mutters an apology and quickly leaves before he gets yelled at.
“I"ll be leaving tomorrow either way” speaks yn
“No you're not” Jay replies casually as if it was supposed to be common sense
“Umm yes I am , a nurse would be replacing me tomorrow” She filled him in with the necessary information
“No you won't ever be leaving me , this is your house from now on”
Her eyes widen at the words that left his mouth but later she started laughing.
“Omg you had me there Jay , I must say . You have a great sense of humour” she stopped laughing when she noticed Jay's face remained monotonous and serious . No sign of humour could be sensed from him.
“you're joking right?” questions yn in disbelief
“Whatever you want to think but you aren't going anywhere . If you can't piece it together , I'll piece it out for you . I love you and now you are mine ”
Would reader give Jay a chance ? Or would he need a second chance?

“Send me in.”
Jake’s eyes widen, his voice hardening. “No way. Absolutely not. I’m not sending you in there.”
You take a step closer, your resolve unshaken. “Jake, listen to me. I know how to corner Yerin and get her to show her cards.”
Jake shakes his head vehemently. “You don’t understand how dangerous this is. Yerin’s ruthless. If she even suspects something—”
“That’s exactly why I need to do this,” you interrupt, your voice firm. “Think about it, Jake. Why would Yerin want me out of the picture? It’s because with me gone, Heeseung gets the ‘throne’. The only thing standing in the way of Heeseung taking over now is if we had a baby. Yerin is banking on us not having a child to take us out and give the position to Heeseung.”
Jake’s face tightens with realization. “But we don’t have a kid. Nor are you pregnant. And everyone knows that.”
You smirk, a determined glint in your eye. “I have a plan. Just trust me on this.”
Jake’s skepticism is palpable. “What plan? How can I trust you if I don’t know what you’re planning?”
You shake your head. “The less you know, the better for now. Trust me, Jake. I can do this. I just need some time to plan it out.”
Jake’s eyes search yours, looking for any sign of doubt. Finding none, he sighs heavily, still hesitant. “Fine. But I don’t like this. Not one bit.”
You turn to Sunghoon. “Get Jungwon to tap Yerin’s phone. I want every conversation she has monitored.”
Sunghoon nods, immediately pulling out his phone to make the call.
Then you look at Jay. “I need you to keep a close eye on Yerin. Follow her, watch her every move. See if she slips up.”
Jay gives a curt nod before walking away to make the necessary phone calls.
Jake, still clearly unhappy, pulls you aside. “I don’t like not knowing what’s going on. And I hate the idea of letting you walk into the wolf’s den like this.”
You place a reassuring hand on his cheek. “I know it’s hard, but you have to trust me. We need to act like everything is normal, like we’re none the wiser.”
Jake’s pout is almost endearing. “I just don’t want anything to happen to you.”
You smile softly, pressing a kiss to his lips. “I’ll be careful.”
Jake sighs but nods, “okay.”
With that, you both say your goodbyes and head home. You slip into Jake’s bed, maintaining the facade of normalcy, but your mind is racing with plans and contingencies. Jake pulls you close, his warmth a comforting reminder that you really are in this together, it’s no longer you versus the world but instead, you have Jake fighting not just with you but for you.
A week later, Jake is still tense, his worry evident in his every action. As you sit down for breakfast, he’s unusually quiet, his eyes flickering to you with concern.
“You need to eat,” you remind him gently, pushing a plate of French toast Rose had prepared towards him. “We have to keep up appearances.”
Jake picks at his food, his appetite clearly diminished by the stress. “I know. I just can’t shake this feeling, you know? That something’s going to go wrong.”
“Nothing will go wrong if we stick to the plan,” you reassure him. “Yerin won’t see this coming. She’s too confident in her position, too sure that she’s covered all her bases.”
Jake sighs, finally taking a bite of his food. “I hope you’re right.”
You sip your coffee, watching him carefully. “We need to act normal, Jake. If she senses anything off, she’ll bolt, and we’ll lose our chance.”
Jake nods, chewing slowly. “I just don’t like not knowing what’s going on. I’m worried about you.”
“I know you are,” you say softly, reaching across the table to squeeze his hand. “But I won’t let anything happen to me.”
Jake grips your hand tightly, his eyes searching yours. “I wish I could do more. I hate feeling helpless.”
“You’re not helpless,” you assure him. “You’re doing everything you can by supporting me and keeping an eye on Yerin.”
He sighs again, but some of the tension in his shoulders seems to ease. “Just promise me you’ll be careful.”
“Always,” you promise, giving him a small smile.
The two of you continue breakfast in relative silence, the only sound being the clinking of silverware against plates. Despite the tension, you try to enjoy the moment, savoring the familiar comfort of your home and the presence of Jake.
After breakfast, you check in with Sunghoon and Jay. Sunghoon informs you that Jungwon has successfully tapped Yerin’s phone and they’re already gathering data. Jay reports that Yerin has been acting normally, which in itself is suspicious.
“Everything’s set,” Sunghoon confirms. “We’re monitoring her every move. If she makes a call, we’ll know about it.”
Jay nods. “I’ll keep a close eye on her today. If she slips up, we’ll be ready.”
You thank them, feeling a bit more reassured knowing they’re on top of things. You end the FaceTime call and head to your room to start getting ready, sitting down at your vanity to do your makeup. As you focus on the task, trying to keep your mind clear, Jake enters the room, watching you for a moment before speaking.
“Am I allowed to know the plan now?” he asks, his voice a mix of curiosity and concern.
You meet his gaze in the mirror, pausing your makeup routine. “Alright. I’ll fill you in. The plan is to trick Yerin and your father into believing that I’m pregnant. It’ll force Yerin’s hand. She’s been banking on the fact that we don’t have a child to take us out and give the position to Heeseung. But if she thinks we’re expecting, she’ll have to make a move.”
Jake’s eyes widen slightly. “How are you going to pull that off?”
“I have a plan for that too,” you explain. “I’ll be subtle about it at first, drop hints. Then, when I’m with them, I’ll have a doctor’s note confirming the pregnancy. It’ll be enough to make them believe it. Yerin will start making calls to ensure everything goes her way, and that’s when we’ll find out her plans and end her.”
Jake runs a hand through his hair, looking both impressed and worried. “That’s a smart plan, but you’re willingly putting yourself in danger.”
“I know,” you admit, resuming your makeup. “But it’s the best way to get Yerin to reveal herself and figure out who else she might be working with. Once we have that information, we can deal with them.”
Jake watches you carefully, his concern evident. “I hate this. But I can see how it could work. Just... promise me again you’ll be careful.”
“I will,” you promise, finishing up your makeup. As you stand up, Jake wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you close.
“Why are we still using separate bedrooms?” he asks softly, his breath warm against your ear.
You blush, realizing you don’t have a good answer. “I don’t know,” you admit. “We probably shouldn’t be.”
Jake smiles, pressing a kiss to your temple. “While you’re off with Yerin, I’ll have some of the maids move my things into your room. You have the master bedroom, after all.”
You nod, feeling a warmth spread through your chest. “I’d like that.”
You kiss him goodbye, a lingering kiss filled with unspoken promises and reassurances. Then you head outside, where Niki is waiting by the car. He gives you a nod as you slide into the backseat.
“Ready?” he asks, his eyes meeting yours through the rearview mirror.
“Ready,” you confirm, steeling yourself for what’s to come.
As Niki drives you to your in-laws’ home, you take a deep breath, focusing on the plan and the roles everyone is playing. Before you enter the compound, the car rolls to a stop and Niki hands you a Manila colored envelope.
“Jay-hyung left this with me, he said it has what you asked for.”
You smile curtly and thank him before placing the envelope in your Rive Gauche tote. “Thank you for taking good care of this.”
Niki nods before proceeding to drive. The car pulls up to the grand estate, and you step out, smoothing down your dress. With one last glance at Niki, you turn and walk towards the house, ready to put your plan into action.
Inside, the house is as opulent and imposing as ever. The staff greets you with polite smiles, but there’s a tension in the air, an undercurrent of unease that matches your own. You make your way to the sitting room where Yerin and your father-in-law are waiting.
Yerin looks up as you enter, her expression unreadable. "Good morning," she says, her voice sweet but laced with something sharper.
"Good morning," you reply, forcing a smile. "I hope I'm not too early."
"Not at all," your father-in-law says, rising to kiss your cheek. "We're glad to see you. How are you feeling?"
"A bit tired, but otherwise fine," you say, subtly placing a hand on your stomach. It's a small gesture, but you see Yerin's eyes flicker to it for a split second before she masks her reaction.
As you sit down, you notice Yerin's gaze lingering on you, a hint of suspicion in her eyes. You force yourself to relax, to play your part convincingly.
"So, how have things been here?" you ask, trying to keep the conversation light.
"Busy as always," Yerin says smoothly. "There’s always something to take care of."
You nod, pretending to be interested in the mundane details of their lives, while your mind races with the next steps of your plan. Yerin may be sharp, but you have the advantage of knowing her endgame. And you're determined to turn the tables on her, no matter the cost.
Jake’s father stands, gesturing towards the dining room. “Why don’t we move into the dining room for brunch? I have a new wine imported that I’d love to try.”
You force a polite smile, shaking your head gently. “I’ll pass on the wine, thank you. Could I have some tea instead?”
Yerin’s eyes narrow slightly, but she says nothing, while Jake’s father looks a bit disappointed. “Alright, I’ll save it for when Jake comes around. The three of us can enjoy it together.”
You nod, pretending to be flustered. “That sounds wonderful.”
As you take your seat in the dining room, the maids bring out a charcuterie board. The sight of the pepperoni makes your stomach churn, and you place a hand over your mouth, mimicking a gesture as if you’re about to vomit.
Yerin’s grip on the table tightens, her eyes sharp. “What’s wrong?”
You give her a bashful smile. “I’ve been having an upset stomach for some time now. It’s nothing serious, just something that comes and goes.”
Jake’s father, concerned, signals the maid. “Take that away and bring something else. What would you like, dear?”
You apologize, looking genuinely sorry for the inconvenience. “I’m so sorry for being a bother. Some cut-up fruit would be lovely.”
Once the maid brings the fruit and everyone has been served, Jake’s father clears his throat, looking at you intently. “You know, we talked about grandchildren at our last family brunch. Any improvement on that front?”
You act shy and embarrassed, lowering your eyes. “I’d rather not talk about that.”
Yerin, her curiosity piqued, presses further. “Oh, come on. You can share with us.”
You pause, sighing softly before reaching into your bag for the envelope Niki had given you. It contains pictures of doctored sonograms you had asked Jay to obtain for you. He handed the job down to Jungwon who was able to change the name and date for you. You hand it to your father-in-law, who takes it with a puzzled expression.
“What’s this?” he asks, opening the envelope.
“Well,” you begin, casting your eyes downward in feigned embarrassment, “Jaeyun wanted to break the news together, but now is as good a time as any. I’m pregnant.”
Yerin’s eyes flash with disbelief, her skepticism evident. “May I see the envelope?”
Jake’s father passes it over to her, and she examines the sonogram. Despite her best efforts, her face betrays her shock.
“You’re three months pregnant?” Jake’s father exclaims, his voice filled with confusion.
“Yes,” you confirm, a small, proud smile on your face. “Jaeyun and I couldn’t keep our hands off each other before the wedding. After a night of drinking, we were so hammered we forgot the condom. We were too embarrassed to say anything until I was farther along, which is why we lied about not having consummated our marriage when asked about kids.”
Yerin, her eyes narrowing to slits, asks pointedly, “If you’re so close, why do you sleep in separate rooms?”
Feigning a blush, you explain, “Jaeyuine was scared he’d hurt the baby with his constant moving in his sleep. But rest assured, we’re moving into one room now. The maids are moving his things as we speak.”
Jake’s father, convinced and ecstatic, beams at you. “You should have said something sooner! This is wonderful news!”
Yerin offers a forced smile, her words through gritted teeth. “Congratulations.”
You return her smile with one just as insincere. “Thank you.”
Patting your stomach, you stand. “I’d better go. The further along I get, the more tired I am.”
Jake’s father stands as well, concern in his eyes. “Should one of my drivers take you home?”
You shake your head, smiling. “No, thank you. I came with my own driver.”
He nods, already planning. “We should have a dinner to inform Heeseung about the news as well.”
You nod in agreement and make your way to the door. As you step outside, you feel the weight of the encounter lift slightly. Once in the car, you pull out your phone and call Jake.
“How did it go?” he asks immediately.
“Hook, line, and sinker,” you reply, a triumphant smile spreading across your face.
Jake exhales, relief evident in his voice. “That’s great news. I knew you’d pull it off.”
“I’ll be home soon,” you say. “We’ll go over the next steps then.”
Niki glances at you in the rearview mirror, giving you a small nod of approval. As the car drives away from the estate, you feel a surge of confidence. That bitch is going down.
Niki pulls into your driveway, the afternoon sun casting long shadows against the garage. As the car rolls to a stop, you notice Jake waiting near the garage, his posture tense. Niki swiftly opens the door, allowing you to step out. He stands protectively behind you as Jake approaches.
Jake greets you with a kiss, his arms wrapping around you in a comforting embrace. As you hug, he whispers in your ear, "Jungwon’s inside. He said Yerin made some phone calls once you left. I'm not sure who yet, but-"
Before he can finish, the roar of a sports car pierces the quiet afternoon. You turn to see Sungchan's car speeding towards you. He parks abruptly, nearly skidding to a stop, and frantically makes his way to your side. Jake holds you a little tighter as Niki reaches for his gun, but Jake stops him with a subtle shake of his head.
“That was quicker than I thought.” Jake mutters under his breath as Sungchan gets closer.
Your brother reaches for you, attempting to pull you away. "You're not safe," he mutters under his breath, his grip firm. "You need to leave."
You wince and pull away, acting concerned and oblivious. "Sungchan, you're hurting me. What are you doing here?"
He doesn't relent, repeating, "You need to leave with me. You're not safe."
Jake steps in, pulling you to his side and wrapping an arm around your stomach. "Stop, Sungchan, before you hurt her."
Sungchan pauses, staring at your stomach. You take a deep breath and speak up, "I'm not going anywhere, Sungchan. I'm safe here."
He tries to argue, desperation in his voice. "You don't know what you've gotten yourself into. You're not safe here. You need to leave."
All the while, he keeps staring at your stomach. You hold Jake's hand and shake your head, still acting coy. "Jake will protect me from whatever it is you're talking about.” You wait a beat before adding, “especially since I'm pregnant."
You wait for his reaction, but when Sungchan doesn't respond, you follow up, "But you already knew that, didn't you?"
Sungchan is taken aback, his confusion evident. "W-what? How did- how did you know that-?"
You don't back down, maintaining your gaze. "We know about you and Yerin. Talk. Now."
Sungchan sighs deeply and pulls at his hair in frustration but finally begins to speak. "It's true. I've been sleeping with Yerin, but-"
Jake cuts him off, growing impatient. "Yes, we already established that. We want to know when it started and what she's planning."
Sungchan looks down, ashamed. "It started the night of the dinner party. When Jake took you to the garden to propose, Yerin needed to use the bathroom but got lost. I was getting a new bottle of wine our dad had requested. I helped her find the bathroom, but before I could leave, she stopped me and made a move on me. We kissed and had sex in the bathroom."
You try to hide your disgust, but it’s clear as day, making Sungchan even more embarrassed. He continues, "I thought it would be a one-time thing, but it continued. It’s almost like she could tell how desperate I was to help you out of the engagement and preyed on that. During one of our pillow talks, she told me she would help me if I helped her. She wanted Heeseung to take over, so she convinced me to help sabotage Jake. That way, he wouldn’t be the eligible heir, and you could leave him. Heeseung would take over as it was meant to be."
Your anger boils over, and you take a step towards him, your voice shaking with fury. "How could you, Sungchan? Not only did you put yourself in danger by crossing our father to work with Yerin, but you also put me in danger. You’ve jeopardized everything for a woman who never had any intention of keeping her promises."
Sungchan shakes his head, desperation in his eyes. "No, we agreed nothing would ever happen to you. The plan was to get Jake out and Heeseung in. You were never supposed to be hurt."
You scoff, incredulous. "Did you forget about the attempt on my life? Yerin was only ever in this for herself. She was never going to uphold her end of the deal, and you were a fool to believe she would."
Tears well up in Sungchan's eyes, and he begins to cry, his voice breaking. "I did this for you. Please, you have to understand. I thought I was helping you."
Shaking your head, you step back, the disappointment clear in your voice. "I’m so disappointed in you, Sungchan. You’ve let her manipulate you into risking everything."
Sungchan is visibly distressed, reaching out to you, but you pull away and move closer to Jake. Jake holds you securely, kissing the top of your head. Sungchan watches in confusion, having always believed Jake to be a bad person.
Jake steps in, his tone firm but calm. "Sungchan, do you know what Yerin is planning now?"
Sungchan nods and sniffs, struggling to regain his composure. "She called to tell me that ____ showed up at her home to announce her pregnancy. She said our original deal is off. She has to kill you now. That’s why I came to get you out of the country. Yerin is going to order a hit on you."
A cold silence falls over the three of you. Jake tightens his hold on you, his expression turning steely. Sungchan continues, his voice trembling. "Before, the plan was to make Jake look unfit so his father would take him out of power and the marriage could be broken off. But now that there’s a possible heir, even if they were to kill Jake, the empire goes to you and the baby. Yerin would never allow that."
Jake’s eyes flash with anger as he nods. "I’ll take care of it."
Sungchan's frustration flares, and he takes a step towards Jake, his anger palpable. "She’s in this position because of you! How can you be so calm about this?"
Niki steps between them, ready to intervene, but Jake raises a hand to stop him. "I love her, Sungchan. I will do everything to protect her and our baby. Make no mistake though, you’re only still alive because of the love she has for you. But if you ever dare to cross me or hurt my family again, I won’t let you off so easily."
Your heart skips a beat as Jake’s words sink in. He loves you. It's the first time he's ever said it, and it catches you completely off guard. You’ve never heard those words directed at you with such genuine emotion. Sure, you’ve experienced love from your brother and friends, but this is different. This is a romantic love, a deep, all-encompassing feeling that you’ve never felt before. For a moment, the world stops. You want to say it back, to let Jake know that you’re equally in love with him, but now isn’t the time. There are more pressing matters to address. So, you tuck the words away, making a mental note to talk to him about it later. You need to let him know how you feel, how his love has become your anchor in this storm.
As you stand there, your mind drifts back to your own parents. The love you’ve witnessed between them is nothing like this. Your mother’s love for your father always eclipsed any affection she showed you. She’s so brainwashed by his power and influence that you always felt like an afterthought. It hurt, knowing she didn’t have the capacity to love you the way you deserved. And your father? He’s only ever seen you as a walking dollar sign, ready to sell you off to the highest bidder for his gain. His cold, calculating nature left no room for genuine affection.
But Jake? He’s different. He values you—not just your opinions, but you as a person. He goes out of his way to make sure you’re comfortable and safe, to protect you from the dangers that lurk in your world. The love he’s shown you is something you never thought you’d experience, and you’re certain you never want to let him go.
You stand a little taller at his words, from the knowledge that you have someone who loves you and will stand by you no matter what. It’s a new, unfamiliar feeling, but one that you cherish deeply. And as you look into Jake’s eyes, you know that despite the mess of your life, you’ve found something truly precious.
Turning back to Sungchan, you try to keep your emotions in check. "Sungchan, you need to stop sleeping with Yerin. If today has shown us anything, it’s that she’s willing to kill anyone to get what she wants. You need to get out."
Sungchan nods, tears streaming down his face. "I will. I promise."
You offer him a small, reassuring smile. "I still love you, Sungchan, but I need some time. This has been too much."
Sungchan understands, his expression filled with sorrow and regret. He weakly congratulates you on the baby before slowly walking to his car. You watch as he drives away, the tension in the air finally beginning to dissipate.
Jake gently squeezes your shoulder. “We should go inside now. Jungwon’s waiting for us.”
You nod, following Jake into the house. As you enter, you see Jungwon sitting at the dining table, his hacking setup sprawled out around him. He’s focused on his laptop, typing furiously. When he hears you both come in, he looks up and greets you with a nod.
“Hey,” Jungwon says, giving a small smile.
Jake nods back and gestures for you to sit down. “Jungwon, give her an update on what’s happening.”
Jungwon leans back in his chair, pushing his glasses up his nose. “Okay, so after you left your in-laws, Yerin made three phone calls. One to Sungchan, one to Heeseung, and one to Byun Baekhyun.”
You feel a jolt of shock at the mention of Baekhyun. You turn to Jake, but he’s already heard this information, his expression more controlled.
“What did she discuss with Baekhyun?” you ask, trying to keep your voice steady.
Jungwon flips through his notes. “All she said was ‘green’ before hanging up.”
Jake cuts in, his face grim. “I’m assuming Baekhyun is the one who’s going to carry out the hit on you. And if not him, he’s the one who’ll find the hitman.”
Jungwon nods. “I’m trying to tap Baekhyun’s phone to see his next moves.”
You feel a new wave of frustration and fear wash over you. “How are you going to handle this, Jake?”
Jake looks at you, his eyes steady. “I have Sunghoon tailing Baekhyun until we can tap his phone. We need to know what his next step is before acting. Can’t let him know we’re on to him.”
Unable to contain your frustration, you stand up, the force knocking your chair over. “I can’t believe Sungchan could be so reckless! Now I can’t even leave my home because I have a literal target over my head.”
Jake stands and pulls you into a hug, trying to reassure you. “I’ll fix this. Sungchan was just trying to help you, even if it was a terrible plan. His intentions were never bad. I won’t let anything happen to you, I promise.”
As Jake tries to calm you down, Jungwon’s voice cuts through. “Uh, guys.”
You and Jake turn to look at him as he beckons you over. “Yerin is making another phone call.”
The room falls silent as Jungwon listens in on the conversation through his headphones. The call is quick, and Jungwon’s face goes pale as he removes the headphones.
Jake asks, his voice edged with urgency, “What’s wrong?”
Jungwon swallows hard. “She ordered another hit.”
Jake scoffs. “Is it for me?”
Jungwon shakes his head. The worry gnaws at you, and you step closer. “Is it for Sungchan?”
Jungwon’s face is tense as he shakes his head again. Jake’s patience snaps. “Just say it, Jungwon! The suspense is making it worse.”
Jungwon takes a deep breath, his voice barely above a whisper. “The hit is for your father.”
The air seems to freeze around you. Jake’s father is the head of the biggest syndicate in Seoul, the one with the power to decide anyone’s fate. The implications of this hit are enormous.
Jake’s jaw tightens, and he clenches his fists. "She’s trying to destabilize everything. If my father is taken out, it throws everything into chaos. Yerin and Heeseung are making their move."
You shake your head. “No, there’s no way she would be that reckless? Does she know we’re on to her?”
Jungwon looks up from his screen, his expression serious. “My system is legit and undetectable. I wouldn’t have brought this to you if I wasn’t sure.”
Jake paces the floor, his frustration evident. “What’s her angle? Why would she want to take out both my father and you?”
You place a hand on your chin as you try to wrack your brain for any reason as to why Yerin would compromise her entire operation by placing a hit on her husband.
“It doesn’t make sense. Everyone would know Yerin killed her husband. He doesn’t have any competitors, and if this goes according to her plan, both ‘the baby’ and I will be dead. There’s no way anyone would think it’s all a coincidence. She’s getting sloppy.”
Jake pauses at the mention of sloppiness, muttering under his breath. “Loose ends.”
You and Jungwon both focus on Jake, your concern growing. “What?”
Jake’s eyes widen with realization. “This is Yerin tying up any loose ends. My father will be dead, you’ll be dead, I’ll be stripped of my power, and she might even kill me too. The only person left who would come after her would be Sungchan! Yerin is going to frame Sungchan for my father’s death. That way, she gets what she wants, and no one besides Heeseung will ever know what really happened.”
You feel physically ill, unable to believe the depths of Yerin’s evil. Jungwon curses in shock, but you’re left gobsmacked by how good Yerin is at being a mafioso.
Jake starts barking out orders. “Get Niki to keep an eye on Sungchan. Wherever he goes, Niki follows. Have Jay set up an extra security detail around the family home, and make sure they’re discreet. Go do a check around the perimeter to ensure no one suspicious is on the property. Take one of the guards with you.”
Jungwon nods, already moving to comply with Jake’s commands. He taps furiously on his laptop, sending out the necessary messages. Within moments, he’s coordinating with the team, his fingers flying over the keyboard.
You watch Jake, his anger palpable. He stops pacing and pulls you into a tight embrace, his voice steady and reassuring. “I just need to hold you.”
As you melt into his arms, you’re struck by how Jake, despite everything, remains vulnerable and open with you. He’s not the cold, calculating mafioso the world sees; he’s a man fighting to protect the people he loves. Your heart aches for him, for the weight he carries and the danger that constantly surrounds you both. His embrace feels like a sanctuary, a moment of peace amidst the storm.
You pull back slightly, looking into his eyes, and then you lean in, capturing his lips in a kiss. The kiss starts slow, tender, but quickly escalates. You pour all your fear into it, desperate to feel close to him. Jake responds with equal fervor, his hands gripping your waist, pulling you closer. The world fades away as the kiss deepens, becoming more urgent and passionate. You lose yourself in the sensation, in the warmth of his touch and the intensity of his love.
Just as you begin to forget the chaos outside, Jake’s phone rings, shattering the bubble of intimacy. He groans but pulls away anyway, looking at the screen. It’s Stella.
“Stella, what’s up?” Jake answers, placing the call on speaker.
Stella’s voice crackles through the speaker, her tone chipper and bubbly. “Hey there, you two lovebirds! Guess what? I’ve got some juicy updates for you! So, I managed to get the morgue to release the chief’s body—don’t ask me how, it involved a lot of charm and maybe a bribe or two—and my buddy at the NFS is going to do an official autopsy. We think the original results might have been tampered with. Scandalous, right?”
“What does this mean for me?” you ask, your voice trembling slightly.
Stella’s tone remains upbeat. “Right now, it means the case can’t be closed, and you, my dear, will not be arraigned. Also, I received information about the witness. I’ll be sending the files over to Jake. I’m sure if you pay him a little visit—wink, wink—the witness will recant their statement. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.”
Your eyebrows shoot up. “Isn’t that... illegal?”
Stella giggles. “Well, technically, yes, but let’s just call it ‘creative problem-solving.’ Given the circumstances, we won’t split hairs, will we?”
Jake’s expression is resolute. “Thank you, Stella. That’s good news.”
Stella hums in agreement. “Once the autopsy is complete, you’ll be a free woman. And then, we’re going to go after the police department for conspiracy, civil rights violations, and malicious prosecution. Oh, and we’ll make sure they issue a public apology so your company stocks can rise again. We need to keep those investors happy, right?”
You’re shocked. “Is that necessary?”
Jake scoffs. “Of course it is. With the way they treated you and handled your arrest as a public figure, we should sue for more.”
Stella chimes in, her voice firm despite the bubbly tone. “I can throw in negligence, false arrest, defamation, and harassment for how they interrogated you. The works!”
Jake nods. “Do it. I won’t stop until the bastards who put her in cuffs and conspired with Heeseung are behind bars as well.”
Stella’s voice is filled with understanding. “Got it. I’ll take care of it. And don’t worry, I’ve got a few more tricks up my sleeve if we need them.”
Jake smiles slightly, a hint of relief in his eyes. “Thank you, Stella. We appreciate everything you’re doing.”
Stella’s voice warms even more. “Anything for you two. Now, go take care of each other, and I’ll handle the legal circus. We’ll be in touch soon.”
You, Jake, and Stella bid your goodbyes, and Jake ends the call. The room falls into a heavy silence as you process the information. It’s a small victory in the midst of a war, but it’s a step forward.
Jake pulls you close again, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “A win is a win, right?”
You nod. “Hopefully the first of many.”
Just then, Jungwon returns, his expression calm but focused. “Jay is stationed outside the family home, and the property is clear. Niki also says he has become Sungchan’s official shadow. Everything is secure.”
Jake and you both nod in gratitude. “Thanks, Jungwon,” Jake says. “You’ve been a huge help. You’re free to go home now and get some rest.”
Jungwon smiles slightly, a hint of relief in his eyes. “Take care, both of you.” With a final nod, he gathers his equipment and heads out.
Once he’s gone, you turn to Jake, a mix of anxiety and curiosity in your eyes. “What now? We still have to be cautious, you know.”
Jake gives you a reassuring smile. “It’s still light out, and I was thinking we could have a date night.”
You scoff, unable to suppress a smile. “A date night? Have you forgotten that someone is out to kill me?”
Jake chuckles, shaking his head. “I never said we had to leave the house. I’ve got a surprise planned. All you have to do is go shower and get dressed up.”
You roll your eyes playfully and give him a light shove. “Stop being weird.”
Jake catches your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours. “What? Can’t I spoil my beautiful wife?”
A giggle escapes your lips, a mix of embarrassment and delight. His words send a warm flush through you, contrasting sharply with the tension of the past few days. Jake leans in and pulls you in for a kiss. It's soft at first, but the intensity builds, the world around you fading into the background. His lips are warm and insistent, conveying a depth of emotion that makes your heart race.
Just as you're getting lost in the kiss, Jake gives your butt a light slap, causing you to gasp in surprise. "Go on, get ready," he says with a grin.
You try to slap his butt in return, causing Jake to curse and reach to tickle you. You yelp, dodging his hands, and sprint to the stairs, your laughter echoing through the house. As you reach the top, you glance back to see Jake watching you with a tender smile, his eyes filled with love and something deeper—something you're starting to recognize as home.
As you reach the top of the stairs, you dash into your room, your laughter echoing from the playful chase downstairs. You slow to a stop, breathing heavily, and push open the door. The sight that greets you makes your heart skip a beat.
Your room is still familiar, but it's now distinctly Jake's as well. His belongings are scattered around, blending seamlessly with your own. His glasses sit on the bedside table beside a well-worn book, and his multiple rings are laid out next to the book, catching the soft light. A soft smile tugs at your lips as you take in these personal touches.
You walk further into the room, each step revealing more of his presence. The closet door is ajar, and you peek inside to find his extensive shoe collection neatly arranged. His jackets hang in the closet, along with a few pairs of baggy jeans—the kind he only ever wears around the house. Seeing his items amidst your own creates a warm, comforting sense of unity.
A wave of emotion washes over you as you look around. This room, once a sanctuary solely for you, is now shared with Jake. The small details—the glasses, the rings, the casual clothes—reflect a life intertwined with yours. Knowing that Jake, who grew up in a room stripped of personal comforts, has chosen to fill this space with his belongings for the sake of being close to you makes your heart swell.
You run your fingers over the familiar items now infused with his presence. It’s a poignant reminder of how different his life was before and how he’s building a new, shared life with you. This room, filled with his personal touches, signifies his commitment and love for you—a love that goes beyond mere words.
You step toward the bathroom, carrying the comforting warmth of the room with you. The gentle hum of the shower invites you in, and you let the warm water cascade over you as you prepare to unwind. As the steam envelops you, your mind drifts back to Jake and the love he has shown you.
He’s made such a significant effort to be close to you, to share his life with you in such an intimate way. His presence in your room is a testament to his dedication and affection. It’s a love that feels so genuine and different from anything you’ve experienced before. In the midst of everything happening, this gesture reminds you of the strength of your bond.
You take a deep breath, letting the soothing water clear your mind. You think about how you want to express your love to Jake, how you want him to know that you’re just as deeply in love with him. For now, you set aside that thought, ready to enjoy the surprise he has planned for you. As the water washes over you, you feel a sense of peace and anticipation for the evening ahead.
Stepping out of the shower, you wrap yourself in a plush towel, the softness a comforting contrast to the heat. You move to the mirror, wiping away the steam to reveal your reflection. You begin to apply light makeup, enhancing your features with a touch of color and glow. The act of getting ready feels almost therapeutic.
Once finished, you head to the banister and call down to Jake, “What should I wear?”
He looks up, a playful grin on his face. “Something comfy!”
You chuckle, turning back to the closet. As you browse through your options, your eyes drift to Jake’s side of the closet. You decide on a pair of comfy sweats and a hoodie from Jake’s collection. It’s one of his baggier ones, enveloping you in its soft fabric and his lingering scent. It makes you feel close to him, even when he’s not right beside you.
Dressed and feeling cozy, you head downstairs. Jake comes running to stop you at the base of the stairs, excitement in his eyes. “Wait, I’m not ready yet!”
He pauses when he sees you in his clothes, his expression softening. “You look so cute.”
He leans in to kiss you, but you gently push him away with a giggle. “I want my surprise first!”
Jake pouts, leaning in again. “Just one kiss?”
You giggle again, turning your cheek so he kisses there instead. He whines, but you can see the amusement in his eyes. “Please, just one real kiss?”
Relenting, you give him a soft kiss, feeling the warmth and love in the simple gesture. When you pull away, he sighs contentedly. “You’re the best.”
He then straightens, his expression turning serious again. “I’m not ready for you yet. You need to wait a bit longer.”
You raise an eyebrow, curious. “What could you possibly be up to?”
He smirks, guiding you toward the living room. “It’s a surprise, remember? Just sit tight.”
Reluctantly, you sit on the couch, watching him with amusement. He kisses your forehead and heads upstairs, calling over his shoulder, “I’m going to take a quick shower and then I’ll be right back down to join you.”
You nod, settling into the couch and trying to quell your curiosity. The house is quiet except for the faint sound of the shower running upstairs. You smile to yourself, feeling a sense of contentment and anticipation.
After a few minutes, you hear Jake’s footsteps coming down the stairs. He appears, dressed in sweats and a hoodie similar to yours. He grins, spreading his arms wide. "Look at us, a cute matching couple."
You snort, shaking your head. "You’re so corny, Jake."
He pouts, crossing his arms. "You’re such a meanie."
Laughing, you get up from the couch and take his outstretched hand. He leads you toward the kitchen, glancing back with a mischievous smile. "I dismissed all the staff for the night, so it’s just us."
You raise an eyebrow. "Who’s going to cook dinner then?"
Jake’s smirk widens. "I am."
Your eyes widen in surprise. "You can cook?"
He nods, looking quite pleased with himself. "I have a few tricks up my sleeve."
He ushers you to the kitchen island, where some drinks are laid out. He picks up a glass and hands it to you. "I made us some cocktails."
You smile in delight, taking the glass from him. "You really went all out, huh?"
Jake chuckles, holding up his own glass. "Only the best for you. Cheers."
You clink glasses and take a sip of your mojito. The strong taste makes you cough, and Jake grimaces apologetically. "Sorry, I think I added a bit too much liquor."
You laugh it off. "It’s a good thing I’m not really pregnant then."
Jake laughs with you, but there’s a hint of something else in his eyes. You notice the shift and ask, "What’s up?"
He shrugs, looking down at his drink. After a moment, he asks, "Do you want kids?"
The question takes you by surprise. You play with your drink, thinking carefully about your answer. "I’ve always wanted to be a mom. I want to prove to myself that I can love my child the way they deserve, to raise them surrounded by love and happiness. And if it’s with you, I know there would be so much love. But... our lifestyle... it’s dangerous. It wouldn’t be fair to bring a child into that world."
Jake takes in your words, nodding slowly. He sets his glass down and looks you in the eyes. "I want out."
You’re confused. "What do you mean?"
He takes a deep breath. "I’m giving the reigns to Heeseung. If there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that nothing compares to the love I have for you. I meant it earlier when I said I love you. I’m willing to do anything to make you happy, even if it means going legit. If giving Heeseung what he wants means I get to have you and maybe one day a family, then fuck it. It’s his."
Tears well up in your eyes. "Are you sure?"
Jake nods, his voice steady. "I’ve never been more sure about anything in my life. You’re it for me."
You lunge at him, wrapping your arms around his neck and kissing him fiercely. Between kisses, you murmur, "I love you. I love you. I love you."
Both of you are crying now, the intensity of your emotions overwhelming. This type of love is new to both of you, and it feels almost surreal. You pull back slightly, looking into his eyes.
"I’ve never experienced anything like this before," you say softly. "I’m so happy that you’re the one I get to love in this lifetime. You make me feel safe, cherished, and valued in a way I never thought possible. I love you more than words can express, Jake. You’re my home, my heart, my everything."
Jake’s tears mingle with yours as he kisses you again, his arms tightening around you. "You’re my world," he whispers. "And I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you safe and happy. I love you so much."
Jake wipes away your tears with his thumbs, his touch gentle and reassuring. "No more tears," he says softly, pressing a final kiss to your forehead. "It’s time to make dinner."
You sniffle, a small smile forming on your lips. "What are we making?"
"It’s a staple from my childhood," Jake replies, a hint of nostalgia in his voice.
Intrigued, you watch him move around the kitchen, collecting ingredients with a practiced ease. As he starts preparing the meal, you lean against the counter, your curiosity piqued.
"So, how many kids do you want?" you ask, your tone playful.
Jake glances at you, a thoughtful look in his eyes. "I’ve always imagined having two or three. Enough to keep things lively but still manageable. What about you?"
"I think two sounds perfect," you reply. "A small, close-knit family."
Jake nods in agreement, his focus shifting back to the ingredients in front of him. "Do you have a preference for a boy or a girl?"
"Not really," you say, considering the question. "But I can see you as a great girl dad."
Jake laughs, shaking his head. "Really? I’ve always pictured myself teaching a son how to play football."
You smile, imagining the scene. "You scream girl dad, Jake. And who knows? You might end up being a ballet dad too."
Jake grins at the thought, his eyes lighting up. "I’d be honored to have a daughter who wants to dance. I’ll be there at every recital, cheering her on."
As you continue to brainstorm about your future family, Jake finishes cooking and turns to face you, presenting the plates with a flourish. You burst into laughter when you see the meal: a grilled cheese sandwich with a side of barbecue sauce.
"Is this it? A grilled cheese sandwich?" you ask, amusement clear in your voice.
Jake feigns offense, holding up a finger. "For your information, it’s a ham and cheese toastie, not just a grilled cheese sandwich."
You laugh harder, but you relent, taking your plate. "Alright, I’ll give it a try."
Jake raises his own half of the sandwich, and you clink them together like glasses. "Cheers."
You take a bite, and to your surprise, the combination of melted cheese, ham, and barbecue sauce is delicious. "Wow, this is actually really good," you say, a note of wonder in your voice.
Jake beams with pride. "Told you."
You finish your sandwich quickly, licking your fingers. "You have to make another one."
Jake laughs, shaking his head. "I have the rest of our lives to make ham and cheese toasties for you."
He steps closer, wrapping his arms around you in a warm hug. He holds you tightly, his chin resting on top of your head. "I love you," he whispers once more, his voice filled with sincerity.
You close your eyes, savoring the moment, feeling the strength of his love surrounding you. After a few moments, Jake pulls back slightly, a playful glint in his eyes. "Come on," he says, taking your hand and leading you into the living room.
He walks over to the stereo, queues up a soft, romantic playlist, and then turns to you, extending his hand. "Dance with me?"
You smile, placing your hand in his, and he gently pulls you close. You rest your head on his chest as you sway to the music, the world outside fading away. The slow dance feels like a perfect encapsulation of your love—gentle and steady.
As the music plays, you lose yourselves in each other, moving in sync, sharing soft whispers and tender glances. Jake occasionally twirls you around, making you laugh, and then pulls you back into his embrace, his arms a safe haven.
After a while, you both settle onto the couch, deciding to spend the rest of the day enjoying each other's company. You watch movies, baking cookies during intermissions and sneaking kisses as you share the warm treats. You cuddle under a cozy blanket, your bodies intertwined as you laugh at the screen, savoring the sweetness of these simple moments.
As the sun sets you turn to Jake, a contented sigh escaping your lips. "We should go to bed," you suggest, feeling the day’s happiness settle into a gentle fatigue.
Hand in hand, you walk up the stairs, entering your room together. You both go through your nightly routines, brushing your teeth side by side, sharing smiles and soft touches. Once you’re ready for bed, you slip under the covers, and Jake immediately pulls you close, his arms wrapping around you protectively.
"I'm so happy I get to hold you," he murmurs, pressing a tender kiss to your forehead.
You snuggle into his embrace, feeling completely at peace. "Goodnight, Jake," you whisper, your voice filled with love.
"Goodnight, my love," he replies, his voice gentle.
With your heart full and your body warm against his, you both drift off to sleep, wrapped in each other's arms.

At last, I had something new to experience in my previously dull existence. Now, I could finally put my unique ability to good use-an ability to manipulate, honed by my deep understanding of psychology, in situations that were both serious and thrilling.
