Tamil Nadu Aptitude Test in Architecture (TANATA) is the state level entrance examination conducted by Anna University. It is the qualifying test for B. Arch admissions across institutions in Tamil Nadu

Examination Pattern:

TANATA 2020 Entrance Test will be Pencil &paper-based test, consisting of two parts:

• Part A question paper will consist of 60 multiple choice questions.

• Candidates will be awarded two marks for each correct answer.

• Part B will consist of two drawing questions and the total time limit to attempt both parts will be 180 minutes.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that it will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination or JEE Main exam in four sessions this year - in February, March, April and May. Job purpose:

To assume responsibility for and ensure the efficient operation and delivery of hard and soft services consisting of Security, Safety, Traffic, car parking management, Housekeeping, pest controlling, waste management & Engineering services for Festival Centre.

Hard and Soft Service Management:

Management of planned, reactive and incidental works delivery for security, safety, traffic, housekeeping, waste management and pest control. Responsible for implementing soft services plan for festival center by directing team in routine and scheduled jobs; ensuring compliance to set standards and carrying out regular inspection, with the objective of enforcing adherence to safety standards and customer satisfaction with in allotted budget. Management of air conditioning district cooling maintenance and operations.

Contract Management:

Responsible for establishing SLAs and KPIs of the outsourced contractors and track performance levels of the contractor providing soft services against set KPIs and SLAs by routinely assessing performance against checklist, identifying defaults or shortcomings in service levels, and based on same prepare necessary report for management.

Supply Chain Management:

Daily management of sub-contractors, consumables and equipments; responsible for tender procedure to ensure probity; Responsible for implementation and monitoring of sub-contractor performance. Inventory management of CFC owned spares. Ensure best value management techniques with in contracts. Development of contract delivery strategy, providing demonstrable operational benefits.

Asset Management:

Emergency and Crisis Management:

Responsible for ensuring that the security staff are trained to recognize and follow procedures related to any crisis and emergency, as well as ensure that the Crisis Management Team are informed within the specified time period in the case of any such event, so as to effectively manage and control the situation. Conducting regular evacuation & Emergency drills in conjunction with GM, Civil Defense & Police.

Traffic and Car Parking Management:

Responsible for the traffic management within the periphery of the Festival Centre, by implementing the strategy related to traffic management including placement of staff to direct traffic; monitoring the safety of pedestrian crossings; maintaining easy accessibility to car parks; overseeing the availability of taxis for customers and directing its movement, with the objective of maintaining accessibility to the various entrance points and minimizing possibility of accidents, or traffic chaos as a result of traffic jams and bottle necks. Housekeeping Inventory Management:

Orders, receives, inspects and stores equipment, spare parts and consumables, merchandise commodities, material and/or supplies with the objective of maintaining costs within budget as well as ensuring that there is no stock out situation at any point of time which can lead to inconvenience for the customer. Identify and develop vendor base, with the objective of getting the best prices and quality from selected vendors.

Coordination :

Co-ordination with Local Authorities: Coordinate with Police, Civil Defense, and Cairo Municipality & City management for site wide requirement.

Coordination with Development: Coordinate with development team for the ongoing construction cleaning, pest controlling & Security Management. Maintain clean & Safe Mall in spite of ongoing construction activities without any break to customer experience.

Coordination with Tenants: Responsible for the coordination with tenants for back of the house facilities, Trash disposal, pest control, Safety & Security issues. This includes coordinating hygiene requirement for F & B outlets.

Reporting:

Prepare routine and ad hoc reports, with the objective of keeping the management informed about all issues relating to operations of mall and taking necessary action thereof. Prepare monthly financial analysis for operations for the Retail Operation monthly report.

Energy Management:

Drive improvement in water and electricity saving initiatives.

Standard of Tenants Premises:

Responsible for safety checks on all electrical boards, installations and firefighting systems.

About you

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

University Graduate in any discipline preferred Bilingual (English and Arabic speaking skills desirable)

Minimum Experience:

5-7 years’ relevant experience in a shopping center/mall/hotel especially with some background in Civil Defense Service would be highly advantageous.

Dubai, UAE: The Indian government’s decision to abruptly change the criteria for expatriate students seeking admission in engineering and technical colleges back home risks jeopardising many promising futures, teachers and students said. The scheme allowed non-resident Indians, foreigners and persons of Indian origin to seek admission to undergraduate and post graduate courses in premier technical institutes in India. Till 2016, the elibility critera was a two-year education abroad in grades 11 and 12. The students were also required to take Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). However, just a day before commencement of registration on April 1 this year, the Indian government increased the minimum foreign residency requirement to to five years from two. This also means that expatriate students who do not fit the eligibility criteria are now supposed to compete with the regular students for seats to prestigious institutes. Academicians argue that this is not a healthy competition as students living abroad do not have the same competitive edge and attitude to last out in the regular battle of admissions, which is known to be a very taxing process in India. The move is likely to impact hundreds of Indian students in the Gulf region, teachers said. One such student is Rohil Bom, a grade 12 student of Delhi Private School, Sharjah, who has secured a perfect 2,400 SAT score. Now, with the change in rules, he falls one year short. He has made several representations to the ministry, but to no avail. Nearly 25 per cent of students seeking admission in Indian universities are affected in our school and most of them are children of parents on deputation from the Indian government. These postings are typically for three to four years.” Dr Ashok Kumar, CEO of Indian High School, told Gulf News that he has made a presentation to Navdeep Singh Suri, Indian Ambassador to the UAE, on the issue. “If the government wanted to check any misue of DASA rules, they should have given enough time to students. Moreover, this change was most abrupt after already publishing the Admission Brochure 2017. This comes as a huge disappointment and is highly demotivating for the deserving students.” Meanwhile, Children of Indians Working in Gulf (CIWG) has initiated a blog to allow parents to raise their concerns over the move. One Indian expatriate, Muthu K Kumarvel from Saudi Arabia, blogged about his son who has completed four years of education in Saudi Arabia. The boy is now disqualified for DASA with the new eligibility criteria of five years.
