Gao Rework (updated for Soil)
Name: Zhao Vision: Geo Weapon: Bow Constellation: Terrae Motus
Normal Attack Talent: Youkai Broodeii Archery
Normal Attack: Zhao homes onto enemies and deals DMG to them with his bow.
Charged attack: Goes into an aiming stance, making you able to manually shoot arrows. A normal arrow shot from Zhao's bow will deal Physical DMG. Charging the arrow longer will allow flourishing Geo to infill the arrowhead. This arrow will deal Geo DMG to opponents. Allowing the arrowhead a longer charging will enbrand the arrowhead in surging Geo, letting the arrow broaden as it hits an opponent or wall, dealing additional Geo DMG together with the initial first Charged Attack which scales off of Max HP.
Broadening Arrow DMG: 19.3%-38.4% of Max HP from Lv. 1-Lv. 13
Plunging Attack: While airborne, Zhao plunges down in a shower of arrows, dealing damage to opponents in the way when he lands.
Elemental Skill: Florid Geometra
Zhao uses a special recipe manufactured by Geo, dashing forward, dealing Soil DMG to nearby opponents which scales with Max HP and creating a Pestilential Jade Bloom.
Pestilential Jade Bloom An artificial plant built purely by Geo. At set intervals, the Pestilential Jade Bloom will expand and deal Graphic Vine Geo DMG to nearby opponents which scales with Max HP. The Pestilential Jade Bloom also attracts opponents' attention, and inherits HP from Zhao. After it's duration ends, or if it's HP reaches 0, it will flourish and deal AoE Geo DMG. A maximum of 3 Pestilential Jade Blooms made by Zhao himself may exist at any given
Skill DMG: 101.1%-230% from Lv. 1 to Lv. 13 Graphic Vine DoT: 5.8%-12.9% of Max HP from Lv. 1 to Lv. 13 Flourish DMG: 103.9%-211% + 7.4%-15.2% of Max HP from Lv. 1 to Lv. 13 Graphic Vine interval trigger time: every 0.8s Pestilential Jade Bloom duration: 12s Pestilential Jade Bloom Inherited HP: 42% CD: 16s
Elemental Burst: Spire Of Conjecture
Creates a massive Widening Spire which collapses upon all nearby opponents. It's DMG scales with Max HP and is counted as Soil DMG. After the Widening Spire collapses onto the opponent, 4 Grand Flourishments will bloom among the chaos and deal AoE Geo DMG. Additionally, all nearby party members gain an flat ATK buff scaling with Zhao's Max HP when the Widening Spire collapses upon the opponents.
Widening Spire DMG: 18.5%-37.9% of Max HP from Lv. 1 to Lv. 13 ATK Buff: 1.4%-2.8% of Max HP as flat ATK from Lv. 1 to Lv. 13 ATK Buff duration: 12s Grand Flourishment Single-Instance DMG: 10.2% of Max HP + 132% of ATK-22.3% of Max HP + 314% of ATK from Lv. 1 to Lv. 13 Energy Cost: 50 CD: 14s
First Passive Talent: Tellus Magnificus
The ATK Bonus given by Spire Of Capitulation is increased by an additive 0.5% of Zhao's ATK for every 6000 points of Max HP that is in Zhao's possesion. Maximum 5 stacks.
Second Passive Talent: Finesettled Surge
When using Florid Geometra, decrease the charging time for Charged Attack by 40% of Energy Recharge for 6s.
Third Passive Talent: Debonair Percievence
Increases Geo DMG Bonus by 30% of Energy Recharge.
Constellation 1: Tellus Befall
The damage done by the Broadening Spire is increased by 8% and the duration of the ATK bonus will be increased by 0.8s for every 20% Energy Recharge Gao has over the base 100%. The Grand Flourishments will gain the same effect as for the Broadening Spire DMG Bonus.
Constellation 2: Geometrically Precise
Floric Geometra now has two charges. For each use of Florid Geometra, increase the DMG dealt by Broadening Arrow by 9% of Zhao's Max HP. Stacks up to 3 times.
Constellation 3: Auspicious Conifere-Foundation
Increases the Upgrade Lv. of Spire Of Conjecture by 3, up to a maximum of 15.
Constellation 4: Le Cœur De La Terre
While under the ATK Buff given by Spire Of Conjecture, Florid Geometra's CD will be decreased by 30%, and it's DMG will be increased by a rate equal to the effects given by the Talent ''Passive Talent: Tellus Magnificus'' You must have unlocked the Talent: ''Passive Talent: Tellus Magnificus''
Constellation 5: Acute Apprehension
The level of Florid Geometra is increased by 3. Maximum level is now 15.
Constellation 6: Ensuing Comerstone
When Gao hits an opponent with Florid Geometra or Spire Of Conjecture, he will gain a 7s Geo Infusion to his bow. Additionally, when Normal Attacks deal Geo DMG, their DMG is increased by an amount equal to 24% of Zhao's Max HP and 480% of his ATK.
Zhao's Story
A floral store owner in Fontaine. Zhao loves plants and has always had a dream of making endless plants when he became big. Zhao always aspired for a Dendro vision, but was given a Geo vision instead. Instead of being mad at the gods, he used days and night to create a semi-artificial plant made by Geo. Although it doesn't work like a plant, this artificial jade bloom is beuatiful, and Zhao hopes that his creation can one day help people.

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (4/14)
Story Masterlist
The plum seller at the farmer’s market saves Bucky from being captured for the attack at Vienna that he didn’t commit, but is she really all that she appears to be, or are ulterior motives involved?
This is an entry for @star-spangled-bingo 2020. Word count: 2100. Square filled: “They’re on the roof. I’m compromised.”
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader
Warnings: Mild swearing (three sh*t’s to be exact)
A/N: Not really feeling this one, but okay. Please let me know what you think...
Tumblr media
The sound of sirens starts a chain reaction. Bucky hurriedly takes both mugs of hot chocolate and pours them down the sink, and she grabs her bag and hands him his before they run out of the back door. His heartbeat grows louder in his ears just as the sirens do. Police have no business for miles around -- they can only be here for one thing. Capturing them.
“Down the path, go straight through the fork in the trail,” she says, Bucky realizes she must have studied the map, and they stumble down the trodden track behind the cabin, displacing mushrooms and twigs along the way. Coniferous needles whip at his cheeks, cold of the night biting his nose.
“There’s no path going straight. Left or right?” He hisses through his teeth, coming to a dead stop at the fork. She almost bumps into him, and braces her hands against his shoulders to avoid tipping over.
“That’s the point, Barnes. Go.” Taking the lead, she stomps into the thick foliage, looking back when she sees he isn't following. She’s about to emerge from the bush when he looks up at the inky sky, stars swimming in its surface.
“Helicopters.” A thump sounds from the cabin, now at a healthy distance above them. Battering ram. That’s enough to convince him, and he joins her off the beaten path, but she has no time to celebrate before a searchlight skims over the forest, missing them by nary a hair’s breadth.
“We need to get under deeper cover. They’ll start searching the woods soon.” She tells him over her shoulder, going as fast as the dense undergrowth will allow, littered with tree roots, blueberry bushes, and the occasional porcupine. Bucky follows closely, eyes on her swinging ponytail and the brief glimpses of her lip between her teeth as she tries not to fall. We can’t outrun them, he wants to say, keenly aware that they will have realized that they were in the cabin, and hence also deduced that they cannot be far off. However, he says nothing, permits himself to be guided deeper into the woods -- as if he has a choice -- trusting her apparent knowledge of the region.
For several minutes, there is no sound except that of the crunching twigs underfoot. As long as he blocks out the drone of the helicopters, that is. Even the crickets have gone silent, as if holding their breath for the intruders of their peace.
Her breaths come in short pants as she navigates the terrain in front of them, until she stops, abruptly, and he has to grip her waist so as to not fall into her and push her over. That’s when he notices there’s something in her ear, and he can hear a male voice emerging from what he presumes to be a communications device.
“They’re on the roof. I’m compromised. Get out and mind the choppers.”
Before Bucky can ask her what the hell that was, and before he comes to his senses enough to take his hands off her waist, she has turned around and begun to look back towards the general direction they came from. Panicked, she takes her bag off her back. “Shit, shit, I’m an idiot,” she mutters furiously, dropping it and kneeling on the forest floor as she rummages through it. Bucky stares down at her and then looks back nervously, surveys their proximity, his mind initiating a countdown for when this pause will become dangerous. Eventually, she produces two cloaks, both a strange, camouflage material, dotted with holes. Something in his mind clicks as he remembers, but the confusion must show, because she rushes to explain.
“Anti-infrared fabric. It’ll keep us hidden from the thermal imaging cameras. Thank God I remembered in time.” She drapes it over her shoulders, and he mimics her, tucking his hair under the hood as they continue.
The green of the woods blurs into the sight of the same green fabric cloaking armored Soviet vehicles lying in wait for the enemy. Siberian snow contrasting against its green, him observing both in the cold of winter as the world would go quiet. Still, patient, watching.
Stubbing his toe against a tree root the size of his arm sends a lighting bolt of pain through his foot. The sound of his stumble prompts a curious glance from her, eyes falling under the shadow of her hood. She faces forward and marches on, picking up speed as the helicopters hover above the cabin, which is now barely visible as a speck of light between the forest canopy. Bucky thinks he can make out a few bodies, bustling like the anthills around his feet. Can imagine people talking into radios and contacting headquarters.
“There’s a cavern under a cliff half a mile further,” she murmurs, as if to herself, and Bucky’s about to ask her how she intends to get down said cliff when a chorus of barks tears through the forest, ensnaring them like a lasso.
“Sniffer dogs. Run,” Bucky says, grabbing her left hand in his right, metal one stretched in front of him to push aside branches and shrubbery, the downhill motion aiding their efforts. More barking ensues and their panting grows heavier, louder, drowned out by a helicopter soaring overhead. Bucky’s senses pick apart his surroundings, informing him that the other helicopter has also stopped hovering, and is headed east. The chase is on.
He spares her a brief glance between paces, their hands firmly clasped together, her eyes wide and fearful. Shimmering pools of determination, they meet his icy blues before returning to the path ahead. Her heart is pounding so hard she is sure it will break out of her ribcage, pulse roaring deafeningly in her ears, nothing break through but the barks of the dogs that seem to come ever closer.
She gasps when they pass a landmark - a particular pile of rocks - and pulls them both to a stop. Bucky’s hand is clammy with cold sweat but hers -- just as slippery, calloused, perhaps from guns and knives like his, yet so much warmer and so soft -- does not let go of him.
They turn to the left, but the faint beam of a flashlight shines past them. The dogs’ running is audible now, in addition to their barks; Bucky estimates at least six, a proper squad. Looking at each other, they know they can’t outrun them. She pivots on the spot frantically, searching for escape, her eyes lighting up at the sight of something. A chance at getting away.
“Come on.” She tugs at his hand, dragging him towards a large plant with purple flowers. “Get in.” He looks at her incredulously, as if to say you’re shitting me.
“Dead serious. There’s a gap right there. Try not to disturb the shape of the bush too much,” she says, practically pushing him in. The bush is spread around the base of a tree, and she crawls in after him, so they’re sitting shoulder-to-shoulder against the tree trunk.
Her whole side is pressed against him - he can feel her pulse throbbing through her body, panic tangible. Her profile comes into stunning focus as she leans across to see if the hunters have caught up. Cheek so close to his nose that he feels his exhale reflected back, if he dares to breathe at all. They are frozen in time, his eyes fixed on hers although she is not looking at him, then moving to the bridge of her nose, the movement of her bitten-pink lips as she breathes.
She pulls back and covers her mouth with a now-free hand as the dogs run past them, then halt, turning on the spot, and yapping incessantly. Bucky feels he might vomit his heart out of his chest; his hands clench around the tree roots he’s sitting between and he bites his tongue, fear seeping into his mouth along with the taste of blood.
The dogs circle, moving in and out of sight, unsure whether to continue because the scent is right there. Bewildered, Bucky looks at her questioningly, asking silently why they haven’t been torn to shreds. She shakes her head, holds a finger against pillow-cloud lips in a hush motion, then point to the flashlights as the owners catch up to their dogs. The helicopter seems to have gotten the memo as well. The purple flowered bushes flicker, but don’t betray them, shielding against the searchlights. She pulls her hood tighter around her head.
The dog trainers are yelling to each other now, clipping on leashes as they patrol the area. One -- their leader, presumably -- speaks into a radio.
“We’ve lost the trail, but they weren’t definitely here. Dogs aren’t going mad for nothing. They can’t have gone far.” A colleague’s flashlight illuminates the words Joint Terrorism Task Force on his jacket.
A dog stops a few feet away from their hiding place. Sniffs at the ground. Lifts it head and turns, smells at the air around, almost looking her in the eyes. She shuts them, and Bucky can hear her try to bring the crescendo of the drumbeat her heart is playing to a full stop.
“There’s nothing more here. Let’s head back to the cabin, regroup. Maybe try to get a tip out of one of the captain’s buddies,” the man in charge calls, so everyone pulls their dogs closer, and they begin to go back the way they came. Bucky looks at her as she opens her eyes, watering from how tightly she had closed them. She holds up ten fingers, hands shaking, and Bucky nods. Begins counting.
597, 598, 599, 600 seconds -- ten minutes -- later, and he lifts his head from where it had been resting on the tree behind them, and taps her shoulder.
“Why didn’t they find us?” He asks. She motions towards the purple flowers around them.
“Bittersweet bush. Also known as woody nightshade. Poisonous if ingested for humans, but just the smell is enough to confuse dogs. It hid our scent,” she says. A leaf tickles her face and she wrinkles her nose while adjusting the bag on her shoulder. Bucky is dumbstruck, fairly certain the awe is as prominent as a neon sign on his face, as he watches her check her pockets. He has to physically shake the shock off him, as they creep out of the plant they owe their lives to.
“This way.” She starts moving. Ears peeled for threatening movement, he imitates her cautious footsteps. They can’t risk another dog chase, although she is certain they’re far enough to no longer be able to hear or smell them. The woods have fallen silent once again, and he thinks he can hear a nightingale’s song ahead.
He treads so lightly she has to look to ensure he’s still there, and she finds comfort when his eyes look back.
As they draw closer to their destination, she holds out a hand to stop him.
“Careful. It’s steep, and the rocks can come loose.” She points down, and he sees only darkness below.  They begin their descent slowly, steadily, kicking up pine needles and dirt as they move. It’s going fine until Bucky slips on a mossy stone, tumbles forward, and into her. She latches onto him as they fall, landing on top of him and they roll down. Instinctively, Bucky tucks her head against his chest with one hand -- the other belting around her waist -- and tucks his own chin down into his collarbone so neither of them split their heads open on a rock. Her small hands, now bleeding, hold his biceps as they fall, fall, fall.
Then, as suddenly as they started, they stop, coming to rest on a flat ledge on the steep mountainside. Right in front of the mouth of a cavern. He can’t believe their luck, feels the adrenaline bubbling in his spine after the night they’ve had. She pushes herself off of Bucky, coughing up soil and spitting out leaves. Chest heaving for air, he stays where he is, on the forest floor, bag digging into his aching back.
It’s a small shelter, sufficient for the scarce remainder of night, as it’s unadvisable to keep travelling right now, but rest is the last thing on his mind, while he gets up to join her where she is spreading out a sleeping bag. “Who’s talking in your ear?” He asks, gruffly, and she stops. Freezes, and turns slowly with a sigh.
“Sam Wilson. One of the captain’s buddies.”

Maneki Vulpus, “Fortune Fox”
Anomaly OC for The Journal Seekers universe
FINALLY FINISHED HER! It took me a couple weeks, thanks to the heavy workload from college, but I finally got around to filling out the colors cx
Pronouns: She/her Nicknames: Neki, Manny Profession: Anomalous Plant Botanist/Conservationist Home: Abyssal Valley Woods Preserve Favorite Plant: Dragonsnaps and Roaming Roses Age: 23? Gender: Female
Click the Read More for the full description! I had a ton of fun devising her abilities. I tried very hard to stick to the rules and guides posted on the official Journal Seekers page, while still sticking to what I thought would fit Maneki (and also what was just fun for me to write as a storyteller Cx)
Abilities / Feats
Feats: Fortune Sense User can sense the presence of objects and entities around them through strong senses of hearing and smell. Through smell, user is also capable of detecting if any void coins come into existence/are present within 80 feet of them, though they cannot determine the exact location. User is capable of detecting whether or not a void coin is real, or a fake. Tapetum Lucidem You’re adapted for nighttime! Not so much for daytime. User is capable of seeing around them in complete darkness up to 100ft, and can also ‘see’ through use of alternative senses to sight (e.g. hearing+smell). When under strong light, User is considered Blinded, and disadvantage is imposed on ability checks and attack rolls. User must leave the strong light in order to remove the Blindness.
Abilities: Flip A Coin - Cost: 1 Void Coin Feelin’ lucky? Caster flicks a void coin from their hand, aiming it at a target. The effect of the thrown coin depends on the user’s desire. If the throw succeeds, the coin detonates. The caster can choose whether or not the coin heals or damages the target for 1d8 of Stamina. If the throw fails, the coin is not consumed, but the caster must pick up the void coin again in order to reuse it. This ability can be used on the caster themselves, in which case the caster flips the coin into the air and catches it, requiring no dice roll for success (dice roll for amount healed still needed). Caster can use additional void coins in the same attack at once to deal additional dice of damage for each, but every coin used is permanently consumed and cannot be regained.
Opposites Attract - Cost: 2 Void Coins Nobody knows how the hell magnets work, but you don’t care! Caster throws 2 Void Coins - one at the target enemy/object, and the other at another target/creature/object (using one dice roll to account for both). If successful, the thrown coins will stick to whatever object/person/target they were thrown at, and the two coins will produce strong magnetic properties, pulling whatever objects the coins are stuck onto towards each other with incredible force. Damage is dealt to stuck enemies depending on how far they are pulled by this attack (the further apart the thrown coins, the stronger the pull), and what they impact with. Relative DC for a success is increased with respect to distance thrown. Void coins used are consumed, and the magnetic force abates after 2 rounds of turns.
High Roller - Cost: 3 Void Coins + 10 Stamina You’re going for broke! Caster uses 3 void coins to attempt to cast a random Area of Affect for a 20ft radius in an area specified by the caster. If successful, the AoE type is then determined by rolling a d4 (1=fire, 2=poison, 3=cold (frost blanket), 4=piercing (spike trap)). AoE radius lasts for 4 rounds, and deals 1d6 of its respective damage type per round. Movement within the AoE radius is halved. If the attack roll succeeds, the 3 coins are consumed and the caster suffers -10 Stamina. If the attack roll fails, the coins are not consumed and stamina is not reduced, but the caster cannot take another action that turn.
Background
This is Maneki! Essentially, she’s a Manekineko design-based anomaly, but a Fennec Fox instead of a cat. Her magic revolves around the use of Void Coins, the unique mechanic of the Journal Seekers universe. However, unlike the regular use of void coins (absorption of power to restore stamina or powering alternative abilities/spells), Maneki requires the coins themselves in physical form, in order to perform her magic properly. As such, she has a tendency to keep on hand the void coins she discovers in her part of the Abyssal Valley, for emergencies. She typically carries at least 5 void coins on her person as she goes about her business, for safety reasons and to assist with her occupation. The source and functional nature of her magic is unknown.
Her home rests in the Abyssal Valley, a wood nestled in a ring of very large mountains. Due to the slight, odd bowl-like shape of the mountains and the dense forest of very tall coniferous trees, the valley itself is said to be in ‘permanent nighttime’ darkness save for very short periods of the day. Maneki lives deep in the center of this valley, where it’s darkest, as this is the safest location to keep her various minor anomaly plant creatures from prying eyes of people who would uproot them for their rare attributes. Her house is a cozy wooden cabin, with an adjacent greenhouse and farming pasture with extensive irrigation, where she lets her plant friends settle down and roam between fertilizer mealtimes. She possesses very little technology on her property - the only technology she owns consists of an old radio (she loves music channels) and a landline phone that she barely knows how to use.
Maneki grows and raises minor anomaly plant species that are endangered, until they’re large enough to take care of themselves, at which point she will release or replant them. Some of the plant creatures she raises have a low level of sentience- closer to a non-anomalous animal’s level of intelligence, such as in the Dragonsnap. The rest are completely non-sentient plants, but exhibit supernatural qualities that she tries to preserve and proliferate, due to them being hunted to near extinction by adventurers of ages past. The minor anomaly plants range from succulents to flowering, with various effects depending on the species. (For example - the petals of a Roaming Rose can be boiled in tea to make an instant cure for Scarlet Fever and the hiccups.) Her most prized and protected plant minor anomaly is the Shadow Violet, an extremely rare flower, only one of which that she can confirm still exists in the Abyssal Valley. Very little is known about this blossom, but the stem and leaves are said to glow vibrant yellow green, and that the petals are made of pure darkness. Due to the extremely endangered nature of this plant, Maneki tells no one where the Shadow Violet that she owns is located on her preserve.
Many dangers lurk in the Abyssal Valley, outside the boundaries of Maneki’s preserve. During the mysterious emergence of void coins across the world, void coins spawned all over the Abyssal Valley wood. Many creatures and plants have begun to mysteriously take advantage of the strange currency, and often take measures to mimic the size, shape, and color of void coins to avoid being eaten... or to lure in potential prey with the metallic shine. Maneki relies on her strong senses to determine real coins from the false mimics, for her own safety.

BTA 1.7.6 has been released!
Seasons!
Worlds now cycle through 4 different seasons that change every 7 days over a 28 day-long cycle. Each season has a different effect on gameplay:
Spring!
The iconic cherry trees grow bright pink leaves and spawn cherries to pick and eat, flowers and tall grass will spawn and populate the world, crop growth speeds are doubled, animals spawn in larger packs and hostiles spawn in smaller packs. This season is ideal for gathering resources to prepare for the yearly cycle.
Summer!
Days are longer and nights are shorter. Crop growth and mob spawn rates are the same as they were in previous versions. More or less the "default" season.
Fall!
Days start to get shorter, the trees turn orange and red and "leaf piles" will start to gather and pile up on the ground. A warning that winter is approaching...
Winter!
This season is a challenge! Trees change to a dead brown and no longer spawn saplings, crop growth speeds are halved, Animals spawn in a measly pack of 1, hostile spawns are increased and the nights last longer. At least the snow is pretty..
Doubled world height!
Our new Extended McRegion level saving format introduces an increase of build height to 256. We're also introducing a new default world type: Extended Default, which bumps sea level up to y:128 giving you 128 blocks of space of overworld with larger mountains more space to build, and 128 blocks of caverns to explore.
Better Weather!
Weather effects can now range in intensity, so for example; rain can vary from a light drizzle to torrential rain. We've also introduced a brand new weather type: Fog! Just be wary about what may lurk in the mist...
Creative Mode and Cheats!
Can be enabled at world creation. Includes a new creative inventory with every block available, no-clip flying activated by pressing ctrl, and infinite health. Cheats allow you to input various commands to change your gamemode, spawn in blocks and enemies, change the time/season, etc..
Available commands: /help, /tp <x> <y> <z>, /time <set|get> <time>, /weather <value>, /give <id> <metadata?>, /clear, /gamemode <value>, /summon <name> and /seed
Biome overhaul!
Biomes now generate around twice the size they used to be and are now placed much more evenly around the world, and almost every biome has been touched up significantly with new blocks and tree types including the swamp, seasonal forest and shrubland.
We're also introducing 3 new biomes! The Outback - A red wasteland with rich, mineral-filled dirt, spinifex and euclyptus trees. The Meadow - Flowery, rolling hills that spawn in cold climates. Great for building! The Boreal Forest - A coniferous woodland with a variety of plants and flowers.
World types return!
Remember world types from indev? Wait.. you don't? Well they're back regardless and better than ever.
Extended Default - Large biomes and large mountains. BTA's default world option.
Default - Legacy default. Worlds from 1.7.5 and below will be set to this type. Maintains the old beta 1.7.3 terrain generation and 64 block deep worlds.
Retro - Alpha world generation with retro, neon grass and trees.
Flooded - Featuers an increased sea level creating a vast ocean with island outposts to explore and conquer.
Flat - A world of nothing but flat grass to build on.
Hell - An inhospitable wasteland with dirt, perma-darkness and lava oceans.
Paradise - A bright, friendly land of perma-day and perma-spring.
Winter - A frozen-over wonderland of perma-winter. Reminiscent of Alpha's winter worlds.
Woods - An endless forest full of densely packed trees.
Recipe Book!
Search through all the game's crafting recipes with this handy book that fills out with every block you collect/craft. (Also fills out automatically in creative mode, if you just wanna see the new recipes)
New Blocks and Items!
The trommel!
A new technical block that takes in ground materials such as dirt, gravel and sand and spits out random, rare minerals from simple stone pebbles, to gold and iron nuggets and more.
Olivine and Quartz!
Colourful gemstones made from smelting Basalt or Granite in a blast furnace that can be used to make tinted redstone light blocks or shaded glass that blocks outside light. Olivine can also be used as a cheap fuel source in a blast furnace.
Marble!
Build fancy temples with this vertisile new building block made from smelting Limestone in a blast furnace.
Painted Planks!
Paint your house in 16 pastel colours or organize your chest room with colourful chests.
Slate layers + Slate blocks!
Tile your roof with layers of thin slate made from smelting Stone in a blast furnace.
New storage blocks!
Coal, redstone and nether coal can now be condenced down into storage block forms. (And redstone blocks maintain their modern functionality!)
And more!
New log and leaf types, new slab/stair variants for existing blocks, new vegetation, etc..
Optimisations and technical changes!
Chunks now store biome, temperature and humidity information meaning if the biome map changes in a new update, existing chunks will stay keep their biomes in-tact.
Introduced a new "chunk loading" option with 2 settings: "dynamic" and "static". Dynamic runs the garbage collector and clears old chunks from the ram more aggressively meaning better ram usage but static chunk loading minimizes the number of chunks having to be loaded every update which provides slightly smoother FPS. If you're experiencing lag spikes, try switching to static chunk loading.
Flattened out 90% of all block variants into their own blockID, and completely restructured the blockID list into something more readable.
The game now has support for larger texture atlases meaning we have a lot more space for new textures
Minor additions
Rebalanced tool durability and mining speed. Diamond durability has been buffed and steel now mines slightly faster than iron. Steel can also now break obsidian.
Snow now piles high in heavy snowstorms.
Moss now takes on the appearence of whatever stone type it grew on and can be bonemealed in the dark to instantly spread to available surfaces.
Sponges no longer become wet when submerged (wet sponges still generate underwater though!)
Added a "tree shadowing" video setting for enabling beta 1.8 style leaf shading.
Some blocks now have parts of their texture lit in the dark.
Pumpkins now spawn without a face and can be carved into a jack-o-lantern in a crafting table.
Sugercane and cactus can be bonemealed.
Saplings turn into dead bushes when placed on sand and dead bushes now drop sticks
Pouring lava over water source blocks now creates limestone. This allows for infinite limestone generators.
Lava now cools into different stone types depending on what the flow level is when it touches water. This means infinite basalt and granite generators are now possible.
The blast furnace now has a unique textures.
And many, many more minor tweaks and additions. (Plus some seecrets!)

Airsoft Camouflage And How To Use It
Types of Airsoft Camo
There are many types of military camouflage on the market, all based on designs that have seen action in one theatre or another. Camo types are designed to be used in specific environments, allowing you to obscure your silhouette from enemy view and blend into the landscape.
Flecktarn
Mottled camouflage, also known as Flecktarnmuster or Fleckentarn, is a family of disruptive camouflage patterns, the most common being the five-colour pattern, consisting of dark green, light green, black, red brown and green brown or tan. For UK airsofters, Flecktarn is pretty effective, as the original five-colour pattern was designed with European woodland in mind. A three-color variation called Wüstentarn is used for arid and desert conditions and has been used by the German Bundeswehr in Afghanistan.
Disruptive Pattern Material
Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM) is the commonly used name of a camouflage pattern formerly used by our British Armed Forces as well as many other armies worldwide, particularly in former British colonies.
The main variants of DPM are a four-colour woodland pattern, and desert patterns in two, three or four colours. DPM has also been produced in black/white/grey Urban DPM, in various blue tones and even in purples for the Swazi Royal Guard.
Tigerstripe
Tigerstripe is the name of a group of camouflage patterns developed for close-range use in dense jungle during jungle warfare by the South Vietnamese Armed Forces and adopted by US Special Forces during the Vietnam War. It derives its name from its resemblance to a tiger’s stripes and were simply called “tigers.” It features narrow stripes that look like brush-strokes of green and brown, and broader brush-strokes of black printed over a lighter shade of olive or khaki. The brush-strokes interlock rather than overlap, as in French Lizard pattern (TAP47) from which it allegedly derives.
Universal Camouflage Pattern
The Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP), also referred to as ACUPAT (Army Combat Uniform Pattern) or Digital Camouflage (digicam), is the military camouflage pattern used in the United States Army’s Army Combat Uniform. Its pixelated pattern is a modification of the United States Marine Corps’ MARPAT camouflage pattern which is similar to the Canadian CADPAT scheme.
MARPAT
MARPAT (Marine pattern) is a digital camouflage pattern in use with the United States Marine Corps. Its design and concept are based on the Canadian CADPAT pattern. The pattern is formed of small rectangular pixels of colour. In theory, it is a far more effective camouflage than standard uniform patterns because it mimics the dappled textures and rough boundaries found in natural settings. It is also known as the “digital pattern” or “digi-cammies” because of its micropattern (pixels) rather than the old macropattern (big blobs).
Best Paint for Airsoft Camo
When it comes to painting your airsoft gun in camo styling, you need a paint that adheres to a variety of surfaces. This allows you to camo your gun regardless of any attachments or upgrades you have. Some airsoft guns are made up of a composite of pvc, metal and ceramic, depending on which attachments they have, so a paint that evenly affixes to any material is ideal.
We recommend Krylon Fusion camo paint. Find out why in the video below.

Maximising Your Camo Advantage During Airsoft
When choosing your camo, the first thing to consider is your environment. Desert camo is not going to be very effective in the woods after all. In addition, if you’re using plants to augment your camo, use ones that naturally fit into your environment. Applying camo makeup to your face and hands will help you blend in. There are also different ways to apply your camo paint, depending on your environment:
Temperate deciduous forest
Blotch method, oblong circles and oval
Coniferous and jungle
Broad slashes in no particular pattern, but different colours
Grass, open areas
Slash technique, both broad and thin, alternating with a focus on greens and light browns.
As you apply the camouflage makeup, make sure the high features of your face (nose, forehead, cheeks and chin) are well covered. It is usually a good idea to apply a light layer of baby oil or a lotion to your skin prior to applying the camouflage makeup. This will make it much easier to remove the camo when you need to take it off. Don’t forget to cover your ears, both front and back, as well as your neck and eye lids.
Camouflage will not make you invisible, it just breaks up your human shape, making you harder to see. Stay low to the ground and move only when you have to. If you must move and remain unseen, stick to the shadows and exercise good situational awareness. Use rock formations, trees and brush to assist your concealment. Movement is the easiest way to reveal yourself, so move as little as possible when concealment is vital.
Using camo effectively can make the difference between victory and defeat, so use it wisely.

The Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area
The afforestation area formerly named George Genereux Park
We are growing to love the trees and forests as we turn more and more to outdoor life for recreation and sport, and finding them truly irreplaceable. In our ramblings along shady streets, through grassy parks, over wooded valleys, and in prairie wildernesses we find that much more than formerly we are asking ourselves what are these trees, what are the leaf, flower, twig, wood and habit characteristics which distinguish them from other trees; how large do they grow; under what conditions of soil and climate do they thrive best; what are their enemies and how can they be overcome; what is their protective value; are they useful for planting along streets and in parks and in regenerating forests; how can the trees of our afforestation area,  streets and lawns be preserved and repaired as they begin to fail from old age or other causes?
Trembling Aspen grove Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area
In view of the growing taste for rural life, and of the multiplication of country residences in all parts of the province, especially in the vicinity of the cities and of the larger towns, this article will make a special feature of discussing the planning and planting of the afforestation areas of Saskatoon ~ The Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and the afforestation area formerly named George Genereux Park.. Historically, the City of Saskatoon parks department under the guidance of Bert Wellman, in their endeavor to assist the city in its desire to make the urban surroundings attractive and artistic.
Study of the flowering plants or Phanerogamia of the botanist. This classification includes:
Gymnosperms (Naked Seeds.)
Cycadaceae. (Palms, Ferns, etc.)
Gnetaceae. (Joint firs)
Conifers. Pines, first, etc.
Angiosperms (Fruits.)
Monocotyledons. (One seed-leaf.) (Palms, bamboos, grasses, etc.)
Dicotyledons. (Two seed -leaves.)
Herbs.
Broad-leaved trees.
Of fruit-bearing trees (angiosperms), there are two classes, those that have one seed-leaf as they germinate, and those that have two seed-leaves. are the needle-leaved trees or the conifers, including such trees as the pines, cedars, spruces, firs, etc. Under the fruit-bearing trees (angiosperms), are those that have two seed-leaves (the dicotyledons) and include the great mass of broad-leaved or deciduous trees such as chestnut, oak, ash and maple.
“Come forth into the light of things, Let Nature be your Teacher.” —Wordsworth.
Exploring classifications, even further, they may be quite inaccurate etymologically speaking. Many of the so-called deciduous (Latin, deciduus, falling off) trees are actually evergreen, such those of other locales holly, live oak, magnolia and cherry. So, too, some of the alleged “evergreens,” like bald cypress and the tamarack or larch shed their leaves annually.
“I became intoxicated with the beauty all around me, immersed in the joyousness and exultation of feeling part of it all….I had entered the temple of the woods. “Richard St. Barbe Baker.
The pines belong to the coniferous class of trees; that is, trees which bear cones. The pines may be told from the other coniferous trees by their leaves, which are in the form of needles two inches or more in length. These needles keep green throughout the entire year. To classify pines one from the other examine the pine needl clusters. In the white pine there are five needles to each cluster, in the pitch pine three, and in the Scotch pine two. The Scotch pine needles are short compared with those of the white pine, and slightly twisted. The bark, especially along the upper portion of the trunk, is reddish in color. Overall, Scotch pine is a medium-sized tree with a short crown which grows best on a deep, rich, sandy soil, but will also grow on a dry, porous soil.

To preserve wild animals implies generally the creation of a forest for them to dwell in or resort to. So it is with man.~Henry D. Thoreau
The spruces are pyramidal-shaped trees, with tall and tapering trunks, thickly covered with branches, forming a compact crown. They are widely distributed throughout the cold and temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, where they often form thick forests over extended areas. The Colorado blue spruce ( Picea pungens) ommonly used in parks, can be told from the other spruces by its pale-blue or sage-green color and its sharp-pointed, coarse-feeling twigs. Its small size and sharp-pointed conical form are also characteristic.
The blue sky, the brown soil beneath, the grass, the trees, the animals, the wind, and rain, and stars are never strange to me; for I am in and of and am one with them; and my flesh and the soil are one, and the heat in my blood and in the sunshine are one, and the winds and the tempests and my passions are one. ~ W.H. Hudson
American Elm (Ulmus americana) can be told at a glance by its general branching habit. The limbs arch out into a wide-spreading fan or vase-like crown which loses itself in numerous fine drooping branchlets. The elm prefers a deep, rich and moist soil, but will adapt itself even to the poor soil of the city street.
We do not realize how far and widely, or how near and narrowly, we are to look. The greater part of the phenomena of Nature are for this reason concealed from us all our lives. The gardener sees only the gardener’s garden. Nature does not cast pearls before swine. There is just as much beauty visible to us in the landscape as we are prepared to appreciate,—not a grain more. We cannot see anything until we are possessed with the idea of it, take it into our heads,—and then we can hardly see anything else. This is the history of my finding a score or more of rare plants, which I could name. A man sees only what concerns him. A botanist absorbed in the study of grasses does not distinguish the grandest Pasture Oaks. How much more, then, it requires different intentions of the eye and of the mind to attend to different departments of knowledge! How differently the poet and the naturalist look at objects! ~Henry D. Thoreau
The quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides),  and the black or balsam poplar also known as the balm of Gilead (Populus balsamifera) are other common members of the poplar group. The quaking aspen may be told by its reddish-brown twigs, narrow sharp-pointed buds, and by its small finely toothed leaves. The large-toothed aspen has thicker and rather downy buds and broader and more widely toothed leaves. The balsam poplar has a large bud thickly covered with a sticky, pungent, gelatinous substance. Its flowers, in the form of large catkins, a peculiarity of all poplars, appear in the early spring.
Some of the Fine Arts appeal to the ear, others to the eye. There is the art whose purpose it is to create beautiful compositions upon the surface of the ground. No replacement can be found for this artform, for it is as fine as the finest, and which demands as much of its professors in the way of creative power and executive skill as the most difficult. The parks department, herein referred to as The more perfectly the artist attains his aim, the more likely we are to forget that he has been at work. the landscape artist uses the same materials as nature herself. In what is called “natural” gardening it uses them to produce effects which under fortunate conditions nature might produce without man’s aid.
Glad at having discovered the existence of this forest so near home, and wondering why my urban friends had never taken me to it nor ever went out on that side, I set forth with a light heart to explore it for myself. What a wild beauty and fragrance and melodiousness it possessed above all forests, because of that mystery that drew me to it! And it was mine, truly and absolutely—as much mine as any portion of earth’s surface could belong to any man—mine with all its products: the precious woods and fruits and fragrant gums that would never be bought nor sold; its wild animals that man would never persecute; ~ W.H. Hudson
Again, the landscape-gardener’s art differs from all others in the unstable character of its productions. When surfaces are modeled and plants arranged, nature and the artist must work a long time together before the true result appears; and when once it has revealed itself, day to day attention will be forever needed to preserve it from the deforming effects of time. It is easy to see how often neglect or interference must work havoc with the best intentions, how often the passage of years must travesty or destroy the best results, how rare must be the cases in which a work of landscape art really does justice to its creator.
See for yourself, explore the Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and the afforestation area formerly named George Genereux Park.  See the afforestation areas as a naturalist, as an entymologist, bicycle rider, as a botanist, dog walker, a geologist, or an ornithologist.  How does your viewpoint of the Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and the afforestation area formerly named George Genereux Park change with each hat that is worn?
And caring not in that solitude to disguise my feelings from myself, and from the wide heaven that looked down and saw me—for this is the sweetest thing that solitude has for us, that we are free in it, and no convention holds us—I dropped on my knees and kissed the prairie ground, then casting up my eyes, thanked the Author of my being for the gift of that wild forest, those green mansions where I had found so great a happiness! ~W.H. Hudson
