Have you ever thought about CrossRex as a ship 👀

Hello anonymous friend! I have been sitting on this because I must admit I wasn't sure how to answer XD

I personally have not thought about these two as a ship! It could possibly work, I think, as a long/slow burn enemies to lovers situation, but I think Crosshair would have to apologize profusely and in many ways regarding his comment about Echo. To both Rex *and* Echo, ha. I think Rex is a forgiving person, but Cross, being an excellent marksman as we know, zeroed-in on what would hurt Rex the most in that moment, took his shot, and blasted away any possibility that Rex would respect him or possibly even forgive him. But that is often a key element of Enemies to Lovers, innit? One or both parties have to apologize and/or forgive in order to move on with their lives (and their love).

That being said, though, I think it's wonderful that people can see them as a ship! That's what I love about fandom and what I love about Rare Pairs in general. The fun is figuring out how to mesh two (or multiple) characters with each other even if they've only been awful to each other or have hardly had any "screen time" together at all. Makes you think about who they are and what events go on in their lives that bring them together and that then creates more stories to play around in.

Alastor and Vox are so funny sometimes because they’re so much alike, but I think both of them would rather double-die than admit it.

Like Alastor fucking hates Vox, but if he were to explain why he hates him, I think it’d look something like this:

He’s sitting in a tree, eyes wide as they lock onto yours. Or technically.. his? Kaburamaru hisses down at the other ‘Serpent hashira’, coiling ever so slightly tighter onto Obanai’s neck.

He sits up into a defensive position, gripping his sword hilt tightly.

Obanai is absolutely dumbstruck. He makes eye contact with...himself?! And he freezes. The kaburamarus hiss at eachother.

He whirls to see if there's a demon but realizes he's being accused of being the demon in the sun so there's that.

And then he asks why he brought him here?! He's got a headache now. He looks at the ground and pinches at his temple. Like. What the actual fuck is going on-

".... First of all, rude. I know I'm sickly looking but I can be out in the sun. Like God damn."

He points at himself/his second self?? Up in the tree. "Second I just fucking got here and it's too much effort to put you up in the tree unless I'm tying you there and using you for target practice so- what the hell are YOU doing here, guy?"

Is this a dream? He knew he really shouldn't have eaten that mochi right before bed...

Why I still swear by romancing Minthara in act 1 even though there's a way to recruit her otherwise.

Both have their strong narrative beats, to be sure: taking pity on an enemy Vs two broken people putting each other back together.

I just really like the emotional climax the latter reaches, especially if you continue her romance.
