Things are calmer this moment at home, so I managed to finish the sketch for the Enderal event. Now to use a Traditional Artist Best Friend (aka carbon paper lol) to transfer it to a clean paper and paint it 🙃🙃🙃 Final version will def take some time to be posted 😩

✨Star Summer Night - Masquerade Ball 🎆
Greetings, Enderal Fandom,
I have some exciting news to share with you all! The Star Summer Night celebration is fast approaching, and it would be delightful if you would join me on June 1st! 🎇
Although canonically this holiday is celebrated on the first day of spring - according to the Butcher of Ark books, we are choosing to be fashionably late this year - and our good friend Nico approves. He has even kindly provided us with a list of animal costumes that the canon characters would wear for the masquerade🦁
By the way, I will include the text of both letters under the cut below.
So, whether you are an artist, a writer, or simply someone who loves Enderal, we would be thrilled to see what you can come up with. You can share your work on social media using the hashtag #EnderalStarSummerNight.
Can’t wait to see all the fantastic things you create and to share in the excitement of this amazing event together 🎭
Text of the letters from the image:
“Dear Esteemed Guest, You are cordially invited to attend a grandiose celebration of the Star Summer Night, a masquerade ball of utmost elegance and grandeur. This enchanting event will be held at the renowned Ark Theatre on the first day of the summer, commencing at the dusk hour and extending until the wee hours of the morn. The theme of the event is as unique as it is fantastical; we humbly request that you grace us with your presence dressed as the animal of your choosing. Allow your imagination to soar and your spirit to take flight, as we honor the arrival of summer under the light of the stars. With great anticipation, we eagerly await your arrival. Sincerely, The Organizers of the Star Summer Night Masquerade Ball.”
And the second one, which is an addition:
“Esteemed Guest, It is with great pleasure that we anticipate your presence at the Star Summer Night Masquerade Ball. We write to inform you that several individuals, whom you may be acquainted with, have already confirmed their attendance and selected their attire for the evening's festivities: Jespar Dal’Varek — Wolverine, Calia Sakaresh — Red Fox, Tharael Narys — Panther / Hyena, Dijaam Onelys — Scorpion, Lishari Peghast — Cat, Lexil Merrayil — Otter, Yuslan Sha’Rim — Moray Eel, Konstantin Firespark — Grumpy Old Hippo, Tealor Arantheal — Lion, Natara Dal’Veram — Lioness Esme — Albatross, Ryneus — Butterfly, The Father — Immortal Jellyfish We trust that this information will be of interest to you, and we eagerly anticipate your own unique representation at this enchanted gathering. Warm Regards, The Organizers of the Star Summer Night Masquerade Ball.”

event 001 : face painting booth, summer market !
"they're lucky i'm even letting them touch my face in the first place. do you know how much this thing is worth? it's at least a few hundred, maybe more." and that was her makeup bag alone, without considering the lash extensions, brow threading, and a few lip injections on the down-low. "are there any designs that are actually cute? i want something pretty. i'm not going to walk away with my face bright red like spiderman or whatever." and the only reason she even knew spiderman's name was the fact that andrew garfield—certified eye candy—had been cast as the superhero. ender was way too pretty to hold that sort of stuff as general knowledge. @decaycd + juniper !

Interesting how unit order is only ever brought up by certain fans of a certain unit and everyone else doesn’t care about it at all, I wonder why that is… 🤔
From my twitter.
I might not be accurate about the push back but I know pre-reg was delayed by a few months plus wonder halloween clearly takes cues from the song (potato ghost being the play) rather than the other way around, which was also released waaaay before the game. Like I'm not saying they partially rewrote wonder halloween for a delayed release but it's very clear that the song preceeded some aspects of the event and the event functions outside the halloween theme. Other early producers including Oster Project who did the christmas song not receiving stories summaries + for the most part saying they were commissioned before a lot of the story was written backs up the fact that the seasonal ones could've been edited for delays. Uhhh anyway what was I talking about I got sidetracked.
Oh yeah so the character self intros were released in October 2019 which means they had a clearer idea of what the story would be at that point and would've already been working on events especially if the game was meant for a summer release. Devs writing wxs predates wxs ship war. I have no way of proving when the first JP fanworks for each wxs ship were produced but trust me on this. How far in advance does this fandom think events are written actually like i kno mixed events aren't done far in advance but like. People know unit events are done a year in advance right. They've always had certain story beats planned and the final arc enders have always been clear as well.

Hello everyone!
With summer and the next major Minecraft update just around the corner, it’s about time for Ya Dead Ya Dead: Obsidian to return! Once the update drops, an official schedule will be established for the second season, but until then, here’s a basic overview of how YDYD:O works and general expectations/guidelines.
In the coming weeks, more information about potential changes and challenges (🙂) will be shared as well. Days and times information here!
-Hardcore Minecraft general rules.
-General Minecraft server behavior rules.
-The server will last until all players have permanently died, the goal has been achieved, or summer ends, whichever comes first.
-The expectation for basing is that all players on the server will live in the same base and share resources. This is not mandatory, but it is the expectation since this server is short-term and built around teamwork.
-Each player has 5 lives corresponding to a Tower of Pimps, the Tower being located at their initial spawn point and being immovable.
-Each death removes a gold block on the Tower.
-The gold blocks can be replenished by completing purple advancements or obtaining a Totem of Undying. The amount of gold blocks on obsidian cannot exceed 4 at any time.
-Once a player reaches their obsidian block, they can no longer gain gold blocks back and are now Obsidian players. They are on their final life.
-Obsidian players are encouraged to attack and kill Golden players (players with gold blocks).
-Once a player has fully died, their final obsidian piece is replaced by crying obsidian.
-Dead players are more than welcome and encouraged to continue joining each session and be friendly ghosts, no player will be banned after permanent death.
-Any players in Spectator Mode are Not Allowed to help/give any hints/etc now that they can see through the world.
-Last Tower Standing: In the event there are two players still alive (before or) after defeating the dragon, a fight to the death must happen. Players (or the dead) can decide whether or not the remaining amount of gold for each player matters. Ie, whether whoever dies first in the fight is permanently dead.
-All players are expected to fight the "boss" mobs/encounters together, as a "field trip."
-The end goal of the run is to beat all “boss” mobs/encounters, being:
•Elder Guardian
•Woodland Mansion
•Wither
•Bastion
•Ender Dragon

another breeze by review of 2023 in books/movies/tv and one play
Books:
the beatryce prophecy - 3/5 v beautiful read. kate dicamillo has my heart
the summer of the swans - 3/5 really liked the dialogue in this, and I like the idea of like. a book in real time
ender’s game - 4/5 a very chewy read. more unsettling than I anticipated
the seven dials mystery - 3/5 a little disappointing in the climax
frankenstein - 5/5 so much better and so different from what I'd been led to believe by popular media. I'm a frankenstein snob now
the phantom of the opera - 5/5 also very different from popular understanding, and much more interesting. I'd really love there to be a faithful mini series adaption
the turn of the screw - 2/5 v longwinded and wordy, and a bit of a let down in the fright department
maus - 5/5 harrowing
lang fairy books (green, grey, crimson) - 3/5 enjoyable but got a bit repetitive after a while. I listened to these from many different readers, so that added to the experience
marlene - 4/5 really liked how frank she was, not only with herself but others too
a dark night’s work - 2/5 too much description, not enough dialogue, and took too long to get to the Event. kinda a drag tbh
the flying girl - 5/5 completely loved this. worth it just for chapter nine
the cruel painter - 3/5 unsettling and unintentionally hilarious
the water dancer - 4/5 beautifully written and v interesting story but kind of odd pacing
the thief - 4/5 already did a whole liveblog on this series so yeah. really enjoyed the myth story telling in this
the queen of attolia - 5/5 wild from start to finish. gen is insane. "I can steal the magus" gen that's just kidnapping sit down
the king of attolia - 5/5 probably my favorite of the series. really liked seeing an outside perspective to the consequences of qoa
tea with the black dragon - 2/5 v disappointing. the guy didn't even turn into a dragon at the end
the fall of the house of usher - 3/5 v atmospheric and unsettling
the sittin’ up - 3/5 lots of fun characters
a conspiracy of kings - 4/5 the pov changes was a interesting choice
true grit - 5/5 v engaging read even though I knew the story already
thick as thieves - 4/5 a little slow, and I would've been angrier longer at the end if I were costis
the house on mango street - 5/5 unexpected gut punch
return of the thief - 5/5 such a satisfying ending,
my sister lives on the mantelpiece - 4/5 borrowed from libby on a whim, and it turned out to be incredibly sad, and I did tear up at least four times
the thanksgiving play - 3/5 only listened to the audio adaption so it wasn't the true experience but. wild
old souls - 3/5 really went to a different place than I was expected. liked the art style but kinda a chewy read too
Film/tv
the last of us (s1) - 5/5 went into this knowing almost nothing about it and really enjoyed experiencing it
the mandalorian (s3) - 3/5 been so long since I watched it I kinda don't remember what happened but at least they got mandalore back. yay
mad max fury road - 5/5 knew it was good, didn't know it was gonna be that good. easily one of my top movies now
shrek 2, 3, and 4 - 4/5 overall, the all made me laugh
kung fu panda 3 - 5/5 the most beautiful one I think?
the sixth sense - 5/5 knew the twist going in but still incredibly well made movie
the others - 4/5 really enjoyed the double twist. gave me chills
the phantom of the opera - 3/5 really weird editing
black adam - 3/5 had a very different vibe from other superhero movies
instant family - 3/5
oh my ghost - 3/5 the only time I've cared about characters having sex
exclusive fairy tale - 3/5 could've used a murder ngl
gifted - 4/5 much deeper than I expected
the quiet girl - 4/5 really got to me in the last ten seconds
high seas (s1-3) - 3/5 liked the sister relationship, esp in s1, but s2 was too dramatic, and s3 was completely unnecessary
shutter island - 3/5 also knew the twist going in but it got worse. v interesting visuals and atmosphere
tom jones - 3/5 I would've made tom wait a year
mission impossible: rouge nation - 3/5 kind of a slow burner ending
mission impossible: fallout - 3/5 they were a little Too smart in this, but really enjoyed the final act
mission impossible: dead reckoning part i - 5/5 actually really enjoyed all of it
beef - 3/5 absolutely wild show. really well acted tho
the bourne legacy - 2/5 unnecessary and kinda weird
jason bourne - 2/5 jason bourne should not be using an smartphone. also had to step away after they ****** *****
man on fire - 3/5
only murders in the building (s3) - 4/5 really enjoyed everyone in this season
once upon a time (s3-s5ish) - 3/5 everyone is so Dramatic and Serious about everything but it's actually very silly
titanic - 5/5 actually a really good movie?? who knew
fair play - 2/5 watched this to see something bad happen and you know what. it did
practical magic - 3/5 darker than I expected. gave me tonal whiplash
one royal holiday - 2/5 enjoyed watching aaron tveit doing an ?? accent
sweeny todd - 3/5 helena bonham carter. carried this tbh. also they didn't have to do johanna like that
the christmas bow - 4/5 genuinely enjoyed this?? would actually watch again
home alone - 3/5 wild.
my happy marriage - 4/5 surprisingly really enjoyed this. I liked how understated the romance was
last holiday - 3/5 a really sweet movie actually
it’s time for him to come home for christmas - 3/5 actually really sad in some parts. and there was actually chemistry between the leads so it bearable to watch
the boy and the heron - 4/5 really bizarre but in cool fantastically way that I could really get into. somehow more beautiful than other ghibli movies. will need to watch again
the little mermaid (2023) - 4/5 liked this more than I thought I would. but disney really thought that we (me) wouldn't notice that they used two different horses interchangeably in the same scene??
polite society - 4/5 amazing leading lady. super enjoyable watch, no notes
attack on titan finale - 3/5 thank GOD this is finally over. zeke's death was really unsatisfying to me tbh but at least he died. and I wish armin had gone harder on eren on his bullshit bc good lord was he stupid. it sucks that the end is the weakest part of the story but at least it's over and levi was there. amazing animation tho
across the spiderverse - 5/5 actually amazing?? does anyone know this??

i love lord huron! what are the songs you've been listening to?
oh hiiiiiii! hello!
um. long post below. I have so many lord huron thoughts ahahahah
not to be the most insufferable person known to humankind but I've been listening to them since lonesome dreams (2012) and it is STILL my favorite album by them! even though strange trails (2015) is an absolute masterpiece and also incredible!
unfortch ben has taken the band's sound in a direction that I think is a bit more ballad-y (which I kind of blame on the popularity of "the night we met" :/ thanks 13 re*sons why) and also less lush (like... the instrumentation on lonesome dreams and strange trails is so layered and textured and brings in these evocative, atmospheric sounds that create such velvety soundscapes...)
I enjoyed vide noir (2018) but it is NOT in my listening rotation at all, though I really enjoy "lost in time and space" and both parts of "ancient names."
when it comes to long lost (2021) I found the record palatable but forgettable. I feel like they've lost some of the unique sounds that really MADE their music. the theremin in strange trails was an inspired choice, for example. long lost incorporates a lot of strings, which I do like in music, but that's kind of it. it's just sort-of-standard slow, ballad-y rock.
what happened to the literal sounds of the ocean and the jungle drums that were in the Mighty EP? that HAUNTING harmonica and cymbals in lonesome dreams? the HOWLING? the theremin, castanets, and crackling old radio sounds from strange trails (their dorky little homemade old radio they lugged around for the strange trails tour was so cute). all these elements added SOOOO much to the music! they were my favorite band (and maybe still are, my answer depends on the day) for so long.
lord huron used to have this really dreamy soundscape and they have LOST IT and I am SAD ABOUT IT. I'm so glad I saw them twice during the strange trails tour. I also saw them more recently during the long lost tour and while I didn't love the setlist as much, ben's stage presence has really improved and he seemed very comfortable, which was nice!
OKAY ENOUGH WHINING here's my lord huron favorites:
again, I love lonesome dreams The Most (it's The Album of My Heart) and I lowkey have a whole fic idea inspired by it. listening to "The Ghost on the Shore" on the banks of Lake Huron at the twilight hour last summer was a transformative experience for me.
I could eat that whole album but my favorites are totally "Lonesome Dreams," "Lullaby," "Brother," and "The Man Who Lives Forever." all four of those have been on heavy rotation this summer. I was also really grateful when they released "Setting Sun" on spotify finally so I could stop listening to it on youtube lol.
as for strange trails, "Fool for Love" ran in my veins for my entire college career but I deeply love the whole album. "Meet Me in the Woods," "Hurricane," and "Way out There" are some of my favorites, but I also think "The World Ender" is inspired.
idk what I love most about any piece of media is it having that specific quality that grabs you by the yoke and yanks you into its world, and I think ben struck gold with the first two albums (and the mighty EP), which have such developed and distinctive soundscapes that fully immerse you into the literal story he's trying to tell. his comic book for the events of strange trails is deeply endearing to me haha. idk I'm SOOOOO normal about this band and what they were doing with their early work. I really am curious about where the band will go next!
#anyways. sorry that was like. one of the first bands I found that formed my Music Taste as a teenager ha#also tell me your favorite songs :)#I'm so sorry if they're on long lost ahaha

Ends of the Earth, Lonesome Dreams, Lullaby, The World Ender, Meet Me in the Woods
Ends of the Earth — What is a land you have always dreamed of seeing?
When I was a lil' zoology-loving kid, I was obsessed with the Amazon Rainforest. It would be pretty neat if I was able to see it in person... Or the Great Barrier Reef.
Or, for a very different type of Land, New York City.
Lonesome Dreams — What is your most frequent recurring dream, and what do you think it means?
The most recurring thing is... me as a kid, on summer vacation or suchlike, wandering through some sort of huge semi-derelict mansion, owned by some distant relative that does not exist in reality.
If it means anything, it probably shows how much I tend to dwell on the past. It might be a loosely based on a real early-childhood memory. But it's more likely twisted from patchworks of memories of playing around in the spare rooms of the apartments of my grandparents and great-aunts. With the size of their living space heavily warped from the perspective of a child.
Lullaby — Who would you go to if you had nowhere else to turn?
That's a hard one. Being abandoned and rejected are some of my greatest fears. I'm afraid that if I was in such a difficult situation, I might start closing myself off from people before they have a chance to turn me away...
The World Ender — Describe your “coming back from the dead to take vengeance on your enemies” outfit.
Black hoodie + black pants. The perfect balance between striking fear and staying comfy! Maybe I can add Black Crocs just for the hell of it...
Meet Me in the Woods — What experience completely transformed you as a person?
Here's the thing... maybe it's different for Other People. But for me, none of the changes I've gone through in life can really be attributed to a singular 'experience'. I find that the things that changed me the most can rarely pinned down as one singular Event, but rather my Old Selves tends to die deaths of a thousand cuts. It's usually a whole bunch of little, seemingly unimportant things together that slowly effect the way I think, the way I see the world, what I feel - until one day I look back and realize how different I am now than what I used to be...

About the Enderal Summer Event: finally managed to start my contribution, it will be very late. With me having to help my mom and so on as she recovers, I won't lie, I forgot about the event for some days and when I remembered my mind was blank 🤡😭
Then yesterday I managed to squeeze a idea out of my brain, finally. As with the winter one, it will be a watercolor and a short fic about the moment depicted.
And then came the second problem: I didn't know which mask my Prophetess would use 🤡🤡🤡
I was starting to lay out the sketch today and it struck me which one.
This cutie here
It's an Urutau or Brazilian Ghost Bird. Last night one was passing through here and we heard it singing (chilling but pretty imo). It is on brand for my Prophetess to use a mask of it.
Hope we all will have a great event!

A PEAK AT WHAT’S INSIDE THEIR . . .
15. bookcase
finnick is at camp all summer long, before and after any actual campers arrive and then who he gets is a complete toss up. his bookshelf changes every summer, except for the books. he usually gets a new book or two to add but he rarely switches any out or gets rid of them. his cabin is mostly made up of 12-14 year olds, so most of the actual books he has are geared towards that age range, should anyone want a book to read. he has the hobbit and the narnia series, holes, ender’s game, a series of unfortunate events, the mysterious benedict society and a whole lot of other random books he’s gotten for cheap at thrift stores. i think he’d have some stuff for older kids too but overall it’s stuff to get people through the summer should they want it. also on the shelves are board games, decks of cards, things for rainy days when everyone is trapped in the cabin. these change out between summers because pieces get lost or things get wrecked. sometimes he finds new things at the store for a really good price. something that definitively changes from summer to summer is the photos and awards he keeps on the shelf. he has photos of all his cabins as he changes throughout the summer and any awards his cabin wins over the many summer events. he also welcomes campers leaving something on the bookshelf or adding to it, so occasionally there’s more photos of kids and friends and post its and little things the kids have found or made.
