Outfits, outfits, outfits (*▪︎*))

Mirabel owns a small clothing shop in Mond, she used to be part of the Adventurers Guild (ignore the fact I spelt it wrong btw) full time but does odd jobs every so often now. Her 'old' outfit was meant to be her adult outfit and the new one was meant to be her teen years but I liked the teen outfit better and decided to switch them.

She's actually friends with Chiori, they met in Inazuma and Chiori helped upgrade her outfit from the AG uniform (a few months after gaining her vision too). They write to each other and often use Kirara to send other things like fashion samples and trades.

Mirabel's outfit is meant to look like a butterfly wings.

Her shop isn't popular to non-locals but everyone in Mond knows to head to her place if you want something fixed or made.

She is also younger than Diluc, Jean's, and Keaya's ages but older than Bennett, Razor, Fischl.

Batfam X Encanto AU, with powers decided by their ages (it kinda got away from me at the end)

As the baby of the family, Damian gets Antonio’s animal speaking powers and absolutely is living his best life

Skipping Duke since he has his own powers already, we have Tim as Mirabel and Steph as Camilo. As tempting as it would be to switch them, I think there’s great angst potential in Steph never being sure if Bruce actually values her or just finds her powers useful.

Also angst in Tim being the only one without powers having to work to prove himself and Bruce being terrified as Jason has Luisa’s strength and was still struck down.

Outside of that Jason’s power doesn’t change that much, neither does Dick with Isabela’s powers, just now uses vines to swing around. Cass is a bit weird because she’d have Delores’ power, so now you have a girl who hears everything but can’t understand it. I mean it’d be helpful in the field, but I imagine it would get overstimulating quickly, especially trying to focus on one conversation while she’s just starting to learn English.

Finally we have Alfred, Barbara, and Bruce. I picked a random triplet for each since they’re the oldest, so Alfred gets magic healing cooking, obvs, Babs gets Bruno’s powers to match her Oracle branding (we’re not gonna talk about how this affects the killing joke or how Bruno made prophecies for others but never for himself ok?), and Bruce gets Pepa’s powers.

I mean like in a meta way Gotham was literally made to reflect Bruce's mental state, but what if that was true in universe? What if it's rained everyday since that night in the alley? What if you're trying to fix a city and you can't even fix your own brain? What if you're just making it worse? Worse weather, worse conditions, worse things you're willing to do to get out.

What if you're Batman, with an unreadable face, yet your emotion can be read on a thermometer?

What if you can't feel it in the Watchtower, but the weather warms up when you tell that old Bat a joke? What if the skies clear up when he knows you're flying to him?

What if you're Dick Grayson who can make the sunshine with your smiles? What if you're used to getting rained on when you try to talk?

What if you're Jason Todd, and the rainbow you once made only come out in the reflection on the hailstones he drops every time they mention your name? What if you once wanted nothing but thunder clouds, but now you want lightening to strike at everything but you?

What if you're Tim Drake, holding back a hurricane? Stephanie, reasoning with fog? Alfred, who's given up trying to change him, just grateful when it drizzles instead of snows?

What if you've mastered control as best you could and it's still not enough? What if you're trying to be some sunny playboy when all you want is to be a kid again? Could you keep it from pouring down on everything you love? Could you stop your rain from eroding everyone down?

Mira = Constellations!Mirabel

Mirabel couldn't figure Mira out. In her world, she was Little Princesa Mirabel. Abuela's favourite. The town favourite. Sweet, helpful, the apple of everyone's eye.

And yet she wasn't like Isabela. Mirabel's Isabela that is. She wasn't snooty, she wasn't mean to any of her family members, not even her Bruno, who was Giftless. She seemed genuinely sweet, and yet...Mirabel felt like she was missing something. Like Mira was hiding something.

Or maybe Mirabel was just being paranoid.

It was just so weird to see another version of herself who was so...so not like her. Mira had the same green glasses, but her hair was long, her clothes were all...delicate and pretty, and her earrings were exactly like Isabela's. Senorita Perfecta Isabela, not the cool Isa, who Mirabel kind of adored already.

Mira had the admiration of her Encanto, and yet Mirabel most envied her relationships with Isa and Lu. She wondered if Mira envied anything about her. She couldn't imagine why.

"I like your clothes," Mira spoke up suddenly. The two of them were sewing, sitting in Casita's back garden. She gave Mirabel a shy smile. "I made a skirt and blouse just like that."

"Really?" Mirabel blinked at her in surprise, taking in Mira's outfit; the soft pastels, the soundwave patterns so like Dolores's clothes, the pretty ribbon in her hair. She couldn't imagine Mira making something bright and chaotic.

Mira nodded. Her smile was still shy. She didn't quite look Mirabel in the eye. "I haven't worn it yet," she admitted quietly.

"Oh?" Mirabel set her sewing project down, a scarf for Antonio. "Why not?"

Mira shrugged. She looked suddenly uncomfortable, slightly panicked. "I, well...Abuela was right, you know? It looked too crowded and...It didn't show off my Gift, so..."

There it was. The missing piece. The understanding that Mirabel had been searching for.

Mira's Abuela was different than Mirabel's Abuela. Mirabel wasn't sure she liked this other version of her abuela, with the shining butterfly on her hand and severe expression.

"Hey, if it suits me then it suits you," Mirabel said firmly. She stood up and held her out out to Mira. "Wanna try something of mine on? We can experiment a little."

Mira looked stunned. It all suddenly clicked, it made sense. This was what Mirabel had been missing: Mira was anxious. She wasn't as happy-go-lucky as she seemed. It was the same with Mirabel herself, so why would Mira be different?

It raised uncomfortable questions about Mirabel's own family. She filed that away for later.

Smiling anew, Mira took her hand.

It is mainly a world-building and character-design exercise for myself to develop the culture of the island.

The story is simple. Instead of the miracle granting the refugees Encanto, it transported them to Bronthea's Island.

You will notice people are way healthier mentally here, and all will be explained with the respected characters.

Mirabel, for example, is not isolated from her family due to her lack of a gift, or blessing, as they would probably call it here, due to the more theistic nature of the people.

I didn't use a lot of world-building for her, but the other members of the family will have a bit more.

Btw, Kefálaio, according to Google Translate, means capital in Greek. They live in the capital of the island. To my dear Greek-speaking readers, if it doesn't make sense, please tell me about it.

Other than that, this time I encourage you to ask as many questions as possible, because I want to have a short summary written about this crossover to further help with the world-building.

Here all of Camilo’s suggestions. There was so many and I have ideas for all of them, so I decided to put them in a poll.

This is a redo post because Miguel is not 14 (as I was told) and is in fact 12, so I’m removing him as an option and replacing him with someone closer in age.

I'm a huge fan of Encanto and their magic doors, and I wondered...

What gift could fit the Mario Bros and the princesses (imaginary or Canon) ?

Hmm... So many possibilities! 👀😅

For my personal interpretation of Luigi, who's exceptionally perceptive and a formidable listener, I think the ability to hear others' thoughts and/or feel their emotions at will would be a fitting gift for him. Being very respectful and discreet with personal matters, yet also able to speak on those would make him the ideal person to trust with this power, and arguably the most suited one to use it too. 💚💭

I see Peach as being deeply nurturing and having a remarkably soft presence, so I believe that her being able to induce calm and bliss upon others -even when they're sad or upset- would be a very good complement to her healing powers. Her innate desire to alleviate her friends' fears or pain would manifest in the care she can directly provide for them. 🤲✨️

And for my Mario... who deems every moment spent with his loved ones infinitely precious, who often finds himself lost in contemplation and dearly wishes he could always prevent anything bad from happening, I would picture his gift as him being able to slow down time for a brief instant. It would be an increasingly draining power the longer it would be used, and he would sometimes push it at his own risk; but he would do it gladly nonetheless. ⏱️🌅

DSMP x Encanto AU

Character Concepts:

This post is about my thought process why I assigned each character the role they have. Along with some concept art. (I’m not an artist, but I tried T^T)

Character Selection:

Philza — as Alma Abuela. The reasoning is simple, “His name is Philza Minecraft and he is quite old...” Also, he’s part bird because the wings are iconic

Nihachu & Puffy — Niki as Julieta. when I made this AU, I immediately casted Niki for this role because of her kind nature and the bakery she once had (in DSMP). Puffy as Augustin. I originally had Wilbur in this role, but I changed it because I thought Puffy would be more fun and I wanted to do something else for Wilbur. It’s a shame I can’t make Puffy a sheep, but I made Niki a cat because she has cats irl.

Sapnap & Karl — as Pepa & Felix. I immediately knew I wanted this couple in the AU since they’re a really fun dynamic. Karl would’ve suited either of the roles well, but I thought that Sapnap would suit Pepa better than Felix. Also, I made Sapnap a panda because Pandas.

Technoblade — as Bruno. they’re both quirky & introverted characters that I like (yes, I’m a bit biased). Also, he would fit in the song “We don’t talk about Techno, no, no, no~”. I think it was meant to be. And of course I made Techno a pig, he is “The Pig”.

Dream — as Dolores. their characters both have a ‘lying in wait’ sort-of-vibe, it’s hard to explain. It’s also pretty entertaining in terms of character interactions, and I put George in Mariano’s role. I also made Dream a wolf because of that popular GNF video.

Quackity - as Camilo. they both have really fun and goofy personalities, I think it’s a perfect fit. Quackity likes to change his mc skin a lot, so it matches Camilo’s gift. Also, Quackity is a duck because quack.

Wilbur — as Antonio. I was originally going to have Wilbur as Augustin, but I thought this would be a more interesting dynamic with Tommy with the flip in ages. I made Wilbur a fox because of his son Fundy in DSMP.

(I really wanted the bench trio in this AU, and I thought the 3 siblings would be perfect)

Ranboo — as Isabella. The character dynamics and relationships is really interesting with him in this role (prolly gonna make a mini-post for some hcs for this). Also, with Isabella’s gift, I could give Ranboo a flower crown. I chose a deer for Ranboo because the antlers and ears matched well with popular fan interpretation.

Tubbo — as Luisa. Not much to say for this one, I’ve seen the strong Tubbo fanart. This combo is perfect. Tubbo is obviously a ram for popular easons.

Tommy — as Mirabel. Main character energy, of course. Not to mention, their characters are often underestimated despite the attention they get. Tommy remains a regular human until the Casita gets rebuilt. He gets a bird too)

(Also, Casita’s nickname in this AU is Chat.

So remember those scenes with Mirabel saying “Casita”, now imagine Tommy saying “Chat” in the same way
