WHY BLACK WIDOW IS THE MOST IMPORTANT AVENGER IN ENDGAME

Black Widow is the most important avenger for the triumph of the superhero team in Endgame. Below I explain the reasons.

Previously, Thanos is the true protagonist of Infinity War. The film is about the bloody feats that the titan has to carry out to obtain the powerful Infinity Stones to eradicate half of the living beings in the universe. A kind of mythological antihero against the world, especially against the Avengers. To achieve this, he undertakes a crusade of years that even leads him to sacrifice his adopted daughter, Gamora.

In Infinity War, Thanos remembers that there was war on his planet and some took advantage of others when resources became scarce. In the same sense, in Endgame, the purple villain labels the Avengers as ungrateful and arrogant for not accepting the gift he gave them. Thanos ends up assuming himself as a god who provides and punishes a cruel world.

On the other side, the Avengers, the righteous Captain America and the ingenious Iron Man; however, none of them are really the antithesis of Thanos, I think. Who assumes that role, without trying, is Natasha Romanov, the Black Widow.

Without drawing as much attention as other characters, Natasha Romanov has had a quiet evolution throughout the MCU films. Originally, she was a spy raised and trained by the Russian KGB to become an infallible assassin; she subsequently joined the ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D., an organization controlled by the fascist group HYDRA. It was with the Avengers that her outlook on life changed. In her words, in her companions she found a family.

Throughout Endgame, Natasha is shown to be the most concerned with bringing people back to life due to Thanos’s “Snap”. In fact, she is the only one of the original Avengers who does not leave the team, as shown in the now classic scene with the peanut butter sandwich.

The others, in their own way, gave up but Natasha perseveres until Scott Lang gives them new hope with quantum travel. She is also the one who, when it comes to bringing the band back together, looks for the avenger who has turned the way the most, her friend Clint Barton, Hawkeye. The archer lost his entire family to Thanos, now he is dedicated to annihilating the members of the worst organized crime gangs, leaving a trail of blood all over the world.

During their meeting in Japan, Natasha says what I think is the most important phrase in the film. When Barton asserts that he is beyond redemption, she says, “WELL, I DON’T JUDGE PEOPLE FOR THEIR WORST MISTAKES.” Unlike Thanos, who seeks to punish humanity, the Black Widow sees forgiveness as a necessary condition for herself and humanity to move forward.

Another contrast between Natasha and Thanos is that while the villain kills his “daughter” to get the Soul Stone, the heroine sacrifices herself so that her friend Clint gets the keystone for the Avengers’ plan to revive his companions. And the rest of the disintegrated. It was undoubtedly the most difficult mission.

After the death of the Black Widow, the male avengers do not know how to deal with the loss and with their anger. Hawkeye and Thor fight, while the Hulk throws a bench into the air. Despite this, the triumph of superheroes is already assured. The battle against the Thanos of the past is missing, but once her comrades in arms are resurrected, the numbers will be in their favor and the fight will be a mere formality. All thanks to the fact that one woman understood better than everyone the importance of forgiving herself and others.
