"Sothis. . ." The man mutters, as the other moves into his lap, rough hands stalking under silk and lace, cupping around her waist.
". . .Easy, now." These words had been a suggestion not only to her, but to himself. She had a certain. . . allure that his body could not deny, that it needed to take and claim for itself. It was an avarice that could only be satiated by a show of force and bruises.
Chest heaving with a sigh, the man asks, his grip easing, though still remaining firm. ". . .You causing trouble?"

In Defense of Season 2...
Shadow and Bone season 2 gets a bit of flack for jumping the gun and using plot beats from Crooked Kingdom -- Kaz taking down Pekka Rollins so early before the Ice Court Heist, but I'll defend what a brilliant choice that would have been if the Six of Crows spin off happened.
Because Kaz defeated Pekka by threatening his son. Kaz destroyed his business' reputation too with the fake plague, but Pekka didn't care about that. He got on his knees to beg and gave into all of Kaz's demands because he loved his son and wanted to guarantee his son's safety.
If the Crow's story had continued into the Ice Court Heist, Kaz would have tried to exact same strategy using Wylan as a hostage against his father expecting similar results. He successfully did it once and therefore thought it would work a second time.
On its own, defeating Pekka Rollins did seem too early out of the expected sequence of events. But in the larger context where the story was headed, it was perfectly setting up why Kaz thought he could guarantee Van Eck pay 30 million for the Ice Court job by using Wylan as leverage against his father.
But, you may say, Kaz enacting revenge on Pekka is the end of his character arc. It happening so early is bad! Valid point and fair take. Pekka was obviously going to come back into the story and continue to be an antagonist to Kaz until their "final showdown." The show would have had to change the specific details of those events, sure. But if the series continued Kaz was going go head to head with Pekka Rollins again, still giving him the opportunity to appropriately end his character arc.

Noah Berlatsky at Public Notice:
Donald Trump has repeatedly promised that if he returns to the White House, he will deport every undocumented person in the US. Most experts say that would be 11 million people, but Trump has insisted that the number is closed to 18 million or even 30 million. Trump’s provided few details about how he would go about accomplishing such a massive forced relocation program, though he’s suggested he would deputize local police, call in the National Guard, and perhaps use the military. He’s also said, with some relish, that “getting them out will be a bloody story.” This past weekend, Trump turned his violent and dehumanizing rhetoric up to 11, proclaiming during an event in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, that migrants “will walk into your kitchen, they’ll cut your throat.”
“These people are animals,” Trump said, vowing that "I will liberate Wisconsin from this mass migrant invasion of murderers, rapists, hoodlums, drug dealers, thugs, and vicious gang members. We're going to liberate our country." This Trumpian dystopia bears no resemblance to reality. Trump went as far as to claim that “hundreds of little cities and little towns" in the Midwest are being "occupied" by migrants with "MK-47s." As untethered from reality as he is, Trump is deadly serious about attempting deportation on an unprecedented scale. Even making an attempt to round up that many people would lead to horrific suffering and the weaponizing of state terror against immigrants, Latinos, Black people, and Trump’s partisan enemies. In short, Trump is calling for a massive military operation that seems designed to lead to economic misery, concentration camps, and mass death.
Mass deportation would be massively expensive
Experts are skeptical that Trump could enact his terrifying deportation agenda in part because to do so would require vast amounts of money. The funds would have to come from Congress, and even far right legislators are likely to balk at the cost. In 2023, ICE deported 142,580 people with a budget of $420 million. Trump wants to deport at minimum 10 million individuals; proportionally, that would cost about $30 billion.
There would be huge additional costs as well. ICE currently spends some $2.4 billion a year on 41,500 detainee beds. Trump is calling for more than 10 times as much deportation; the cost for warehousing immigrants could also be tens of billions of dollars. Even that’s only scratching the surface of the cost. Immigrants contribute to the economy by paying taxes, performing needed jobs, and providing income for households that include US citizens. Undocumented people paid $96.7 billion in taxes in 2022; that’s all money that would be lost if Trump got his wish. In addition, the Center for Migration studies estimates that if a third of US citizen children of undocumented immigrants remain in the US after their parents are deported, the state would end up spending $118 billion to care for them. GDP could contract 1.4 percent in the first year. Losses could total $4.7 trillion over a decade.
As the Washington Monthly argues, deporting 11 million immigrants would cause a national labor contraction and recession; there could be 968,000 job losses for American citizens. National wage and salary income could fall by $317.2 billion. Total deportation costs could be $265 billion. In short, it’s impossible to fully anticipate or predict the cost of such a huge, wasteful, ill-considered program. But Trump’s deportation nightmare is likely to make the country poorer by trillions of dollars. Recession, contraction, and economic misery will afflict the US for years, and possibly decades.
Mass deportation will lead to mass human rights abuses
Analysts have struggled to quantify and describe the human rights implications of Trump’s deportation strategy. A militarized force going door to door throughout the country with sweeping powers to arrest anyone they deem suspicious is obviously going to lead to monstrous abuses.
Trump has also said that he would be open to creating mass concentration camps at the border to warehouse undocumented people. He’s claimed these camps would be temporary since he plans to deport people quickly — but it’s easy to imagine hundreds of thousands of people housed in “temporary” facilities without adequate food or water, subject to rampant disease and violence from guards. There are at least some historical blueprints that can give us a sense of how dangerous and vicious a mass deportation program could be. Trump has repeatedly touted the Eisenhower-era Operation Wetback, named for a racist slur, as an inspiration for his policy. The operation was conducted by a task force of around 800 agents, who set up roadblocks and raided homes and workplaces in 1954 and 1955. Eisenhower’s deportation program ejected between 300,000 and 1.3 million people in 1954-1955. The Mexican government helped, in hopes that returned migrants would help with the country’s labor shortage.
Donald Trump’s mass deportation plan to deport all undocumented immigrants is a catastrophic disaster for our economy and for civil liberties.

Note
feel like you've probably gotten him from someone else already but I want to hear about p03 for the ask game
Tumblr media
I got a couple of requests for this guy, hell yeah.
Favorite thing about them: I really like its voice bytes, they really add a lot to the delivery of its lines that would otherwise just read as ‘flat’. Also the Act 3 bounty hunters. The Scrybes are all so full of shit but that was really the icing on the cake. “I don’t care about lore and aesthetics; that’s Leshy’s thing and he doesn’t know anything about running a game. Anyway, here’s one of my post-apocalyptic cowboys that you’ll have to fight periodically—” come the fuck on.
I’m also a big fan of mustelids in general but listing that as a favorite feels too easy.
Least favorite thing about them: Again, not going to say “telling its workers to throw themselves on the line” because that’s too easy. Instead I’ll say I wish the build-a-card event let you type anything. Granted, that wouldn’t fit its character (it wants control above all else and wouldn’t want the player to have complete jurisdiction over their own custom card. That would be completely counter-productive) but having one fill-in-the-blank spot along with the other two word selections would’ve been funny.
Favorite line: P03 has a lot of fantastic lines but I don’t think there’s anything better than reacting to hearing the ins and outs of the malevolent, reality-bending force that lives below your world with:
Tumblr media
brOTP: I can’t really see P03 having casual friends for a similar reason that I can’t see Magnificus having casual friends—whereas with Magnificus it’s because he doesn’t want anyone getting in the way, with P03 it’s because he’s extremely hellbent on having every ounce of control he can—I can’t see him being willing to repeatedly give anyone else his time even if it was on his own terms.
The one exception to this is Luke because of his role as a challenger—he has to give Luke his time both to enact the Great Transcendence and because… well… playing against a challenger is more or less the Scrybes’ entire purpose. Sure, he puts up a good facade about it, but even P03 cracks and admits that it was fun to play with him right at the very end. I like to think that, had the disk been found in different circumstances, P03 would have been to Luke similar to what Leshy was to Kaycee. Obviously in canon they never had the opportunity, but if P03 wasn’t so laser-focused on its goal I think it and Luke would’ve genuinely become friends eventually.
OTP: I’m going to just keep putting the other Scrybes for this every time I’m asked about one of them. They’re pretty much my only Inscryption ship and it’s because I think it makes everything worse. The Scrybes settle into their roles, initially as rivals, but slowly—very slowly—begin to put their differences aside and come together. Initially for the sake of the game—hybridizing cards, swapping strategies, running through their challenges to pave the way for their coveted challenger—but eventually for the sake of each other. They were alone on an abandoned cartridge with no way out and only each other as company. Whether romantically or not, of course they’re going to become closer with the only ones who share their plight. All equally deprived of their purpose, left to their own devices and hoping, desperately, that maybe—just maybe—they can find a new purpose in each other instead.
I want to know how fast it fell apart when they learned there was a way out—a way to make and unmake a world of their own fully-realized creation. Was it like a switch had been flicked as everyone descended upon the opportunity with progressively more desperation? Or like a slow spiral full of broken promises because they know what they’re doing is heinous but they have to have to have to just for the chance of feeling alive.
I want to see them use everything they’ve learned about the others to tear them apart at the seams.
…Anyway, changing topic because I could talk about Polycards for a while if left unchecked. (I still don’t know if that’s their name. That’s just what I’ve been calling them and I’m not about to stop).
nOTP: Apparently there’s a ship with P03 and Pike Mage? That goes here.
Random headcanon: P03, on the surface, seems to be the only Scrybe without any “supernatural” ability (i.e. Magnificus’s premonitions, Leshy’s telepathy, Grimora’s body moving of its own accord even when her mind was in the Stinkbug card) but I don’t think that’s entirely true. His ability just happens to be more subtle—he can mentally diagnose and correct any system errors without having to physically open them up or plug them into an external piece of hardware to find and correct the error. Granted, this only really applies with software bugs; if one of his bots loses a finger he can’t think about it really hard and a new one will appear (he would immediately know what part they need though, but that’s moreso because he was the one to build them). I doubt he even notices he’s able to do this, or he might just assume it’s one of his abilities as the Scrybe of Technology and the others are able to preform a similar action with their own underlings (needless to say, they can’t).
Unpopular opinion: I’d say “where do I start” but I’m not writing another long ass paragraph so I’ll just say I don’t really care about the Uberbots. I think their designs + concepts are cool but not much beyond that. I’ve seen a lot of AUs where people make them into completely different characters and give them fleshed-out roles… they’re just kind of P03’s OCs to me (with G0lly being a possible exception, but even then I can’t really see her as a separate character from P03).
Anyway TL;DR on the “where do I start” some of you guys let it off completely scott-free despite all of the Terrible Things it did. It’s just as bad as the other Scrybes, just in a different way (again, they’re all villains—that’s part of what makes them so interesting). I wish people would be a little more privy to that.
Song I associate with them: A lot of the songs I associate with P03 would require too much explanation so I’m skipping them and going for the easy answers instead. Mad IQs by IDKHOW for an outside perspective, Necessary Evil by the Dresden Dolls (honestly fits all four Scrybes—I associate it with P03 specifically because of the “are they men or are they Memorex?” line) and possibly Death of the Cog by The Cog is Dead if you want something more about the contrast between Leshy and P03’s play styles.
Favorite picture of them: I like its act 2 dialogue portrait, but specifically the dialogue portrait where its face changes to the Stoat’s (and the regular one too actually. I like the act 2 sprites a lot in general).

Weaving her fingers together, the former professor lifts her elbows onto the table, resting her chin on her hands. "I must admit, I am. . . not the best choice to debate one's emotional turmoil with, but. . ."
". . .Even I understand, and will counsel as such; keeping your thoughts, your feelings, contained and hidden away within yourself only ever results in further turmoil."
"Nothing will come of keeping yourself hidden. If you truly wish for others to see through you, just as I do; then you must step out of the dark." Even if those steps are little-by-little, or far enough to jump a chasm, it will be progress.
Though Byleth’s assessment was correct, it didn’t require a particularly great leap of logic to reach; it was readily apparent that the marchioness wasn’t easily given over to things like sentiment or emotion — and yet. And yet, now that she had begun… Setting down her own teacup in its accompanying saucer — perhaps less gently than warranted, given the ever-so-slight tremble that had begun at her fingertips, but still with some of the care she gave to all things she said and did — Helen reached out with her other hand, laying one gloved fingertip on the gift in question. For a long moment, acid green held mint in silence, before the taller woman spoke again.
"I've told you before, I don't consider having tea with you a waste of time, so I won't spend either of ours by pointlessly prevaricating with you." What was she saying? Worse still — what was she doing? For once in her life, Helen didn't have an answer to that, having thrown caution to the wind now that the first treacherous words had escaped her mouth. Five years — no. Twenty-five years of biting her tongue had led her here; internally drowning in misery, externally failing at what she had sworn to always do; failing to support and protect her Lady to the best of her ability. Failing to prepare the bloody path because she couldn't — wouldn't spare anything for herself.
Tapping the index finger in contact with the hairclip to illustrate her point, softly even despite the loosening of her tongue, the dark mage continued. "This proves to me that you have seen through my every facade, picked apart each and every single moment of artifice that I have constructed throughout my life to hide the truth from the world. That you see me as I truly am, in spite of everything I have done to prevent such an occurrence." To throw my lot in with you is inconceivable, but if I had two lives to give... In the interest of that trust which had grown between them, still so new and fragile, almost wholly different from the devotion she gladly gave her Lady...
"You see the female self I hide — and I am unable to respond to that."

"Building a Resilient Future: Strategies for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation"
Climate exchange and environmental sustainability are the various maximum urgent troubles of our time, profoundly impacting ecosystems, societies, and economies worldwide. Greenhouse Gas Emissions this essay explores the interconnectedness of those troubles, their implications, and potential answers.
Tumblr media
Understanding Climate Change
Climate trade refers to lengthy-term shifts in temperature, precipitation styles, and severe climate activities on Earth. The number one driver of current weather change is the boom in greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the ecosystem, primarily because of human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and commercial techniques. These gases trap warmth from the sun, main to a warming impact referred to as the greenhouse impact.
The consequences of climate change are wide-ranging and severe. They include:
Rising Temperatures: Global average temperatures have risen significantly since the Industrial Revolution, leading to heatwaves, melting polar ice caps, and disruptions in agricultural patterns.
Extreme Weather Events: More frequent and intense hurricanes, droughts, floods, and wildfires threaten communities, infrastructure, and livelihoods.
Sea Level Rise: Melting glaciers and ice sheets contribute to rising sea levels, endangering coastal cities and low-lying islands.
Ecosystem Disruption: Shifts in climate conditions can disrupt ecosystems, causing species loss, migration, and altering natural habitats irreversibly.
Environmental Sustainability
Environmental sustainability entails making sure that herbal resources are utilized in a manner that meets modern-day needs with out compromising the potential of destiny generations to satisfy their own wishes. It encompasses numerous components:

Pollution Control: Reducing emissions of pollutants, including GHGs, and managing waste to prevent harm to human health and ecosystems.
Interconnected Challenges and Solutions
Renewable Energy Transition
Transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable power resources which include sun, wind, and hydroelectric electricity is critical for mitigating climate exchange. Renewable energy technologies offer cleanser alternatives to coal and oil, lowering GHG emissions and air pollutants. Governments and corporations global are making an investment in renewable power infrastructure to accelerate this transition.
Sustainable Agriculture and Land Use
Agriculture and land use exchange are substantial individuals to GHG emissions and biodiversity loss. Practices which include regenerative agriculture, natural farming, and afforestation can sequester carbon, enhance soil health, and keep biodiversity. Sustainable land management techniques purpose to stability human desires with conservation dreams, selling resilient ecosystems.
Conservation and Restoration
Protecting and restoring herbal ecosystems which include forests, wetlands, and coral reefs play a crucial function in weather trade mitigation and version. These ecosystems shop carbon, alter water cycles, and offer habitat for flora and fauna. Conservation efforts involve organising covered regions, imposing sustainable land-use practices, and fighting illegal logging and wildlife trade.
Policy and International Cooperation
Addressing weather trade calls for coordinated efforts at neighborhood, countrywide, and worldwide stages. Policymakers have to enact bold climate rules, set emissions goals, and incentivize sustainable practices. International agreements including the Paris Agreement intention to restrict global temperature upward push and guide vulnerable groups in adapting to weather influences.
Challenges and Barriers
Despite growing awareness and action on climate change and sustainability, several challenges persist:
Tumblr media
Political Will: Some governments and industries resist climate action due to economic interests or lack of political consensus.
Technological Limitations: Developing and scaling up renewable energy technologies and sustainable practices requires investment and innovation.
Inequality: Vulnerable populations, particularly in developing countries, face disproportionate impacts of climate change and lack resources for adaptation.
Behavioral Change: Shifting societal norms and consumer behaviors towards sustainability requires education, awareness campaigns, Renewable Energy and incentives.

A Call to Action for a Sustainable Future
Tumblr media
Climate change is the defining environmental challenge of our era, with far-reaching impacts on ecosystems, economies, and human societies. Rising temperatures, shifting weather patterns, and increased frequency of extreme weather events underscore the urgent need for comprehensive climate action.
Climate change affects every aspect of our environment and lives:
Rising Sea Levels: Melting polar ice caps and glaciers contribute to rising sea levels, threatening coastal communities and ecosystems.
Extreme Weather Events: Increased frequency and intensity of hurricanes, droughts, and heatwaves disrupt lives and economies.
Biodiversity Loss: Habitat destruction and changing conditions drive species to extinction, reducing biodiversity and ecosystem resilience.
Human Health: Climate change exacerbates health issues, including respiratory problems, heat-related illnesses, and the spread of vector-borne diseases.
Michael Shvartsman, a prominent investor and environmental advocate, stresses the need for immediate action: “Climate change is not a distant threat; it’s a present reality. We must take bold and decisive steps to reduce emissions, protect our environment, and build a sustainable future.”
Strategies for Mitigation and Adaptation
Addressing climate change involves both mitigation and adaptation strategies:
Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Transitioning to renewable energy sources, improving energy efficiency, and adopting sustainable transportation are critical measures.
Promoting Reforestation: Planting trees and restoring natural habitats can sequester carbon and enhance biodiversity.
Supporting Climate-Resilient Infrastructure: Developing infrastructure that can withstand extreme weather events and rising sea levels is essential for protecting communities.
Encouraging Sustainable Practices: Promoting sustainable agriculture, waste management, and water conservation helps reduce environmental impacts.
Michael Shvartsman emphasizes the role of businesses in climate action: “Businesses have a significant role to play in combating climate change. By adopting sustainable practices and investing in green technologies, companies can drive innovation and lead the way towards a low-carbon future.”
The Role of Policy and Legislation
Effective climate action requires robust policies and international cooperation:
International Agreements: Agreements like the Paris Agreement set targets for reducing emissions and fostering global collaboration.
National Legislation: Governments must enact and enforce laws that promote renewable energy, reduce emissions, and protect natural resources.
Incentives for Green Innovation: Providing financial incentives for renewable energy projects and sustainable technologies can accelerate progress.
Climate change is an urgent global challenge that demands immediate and sustained action. By reducing emissions, promoting reforestation, developing resilient infrastructure, and supporting sustainable practices, we can mitigate its impacts and build a sustainable future. As Michael Shvartsman highlights, the collective efforts of governments, businesses, and individuals are crucial in combating climate change and securing the health of our planet for generations to come. Through strategic action and global cooperation, we can create a resilient and thriving world in the face of climate change.

Shaken up by the stirrings of his mind, the man sits up in bed, startled and frightful, the sheets slinking off his form. With breaths heavy, widened eyes, and a pounding heart, the man reaches a hand around his sides and frantically feels down the center of his back.
With that motion, he appears to ease himself, his motions becoming slower and calmer. Chest heaving, he breathes a sigh of relief, his head hung low.

To the first question, he gives no answer. It was conflicting, that thought. She was a goddess, of course. Having her at his side made many matters trivial, but for how long? How long can she hold her physical form for? How long until she must slumber again? She wasn't someone he could allow himself to rely on.
Then, comes an offer, or. . . multiple. All of which, he hears well out, nodding along with each suggestion and question raised. With an easy smile, the professor replies, baring a gracious smile. "I. . . would be grateful, truly. Whatever you might bless my hands with, I will be sure to use well."

Almost by the gesture she’s calmed down considerably as she properly leaned into the touch. Both of her hands wrap around his wrist as if to keep his hand in place. Not that he’s known to let go so quickly. A little godsend in its own.
”You have me. Am I not enough?” The goddess finally spoke her question she’s had since the sword had been known. The connection she feels with the weapon is a great discourager but her question isn’t one normally would ask. She herself wasn’t a weapon like the sword was, she couldn’t take its place and Byleth couldn’t be without one either. Too many negative emotions and thoughts made her think, well.. not well. Her methods surely were odd.
“I mean.. it has potential but I feel used.” Highly contradictory to her question but in her mind it makes sense. Perhaps not to the professor. “What if I lend you my bow instead? Or my whip?” Any alternatives were better than that thing. The thing that was literally ripped from her still alive body by -
Fingers gripped tightly around the man’s wrist but loosened moments later. No, she’s overthinking things, again. “Could I.. make you a different one?” Anything to get away from that sword.

~ "Denial will not save you when Cupid's arrow find its mark." - Kerrelyn Sparks ~
The week off before Valentine’s Day is not only an opportunity for the team to enact their plan, but also gives JJ an opportunity to be at home more with Henry and Will. It’s been an absolute delight of a week, including an afternoon trip to the zoo, walks to the ice cream parlor down the street every night, and even teaching Henry how to play soccer in the backyard. And she’s pretty excited about the idea of getting to spend Valentine’s Day with Will, going so far as to book their babysitter a month in advance when she’d seen the time off on the calendar.
On Wednesday night, she receives a text from Derek into the group chat, “Looks like JJ’s on for tomorrow. Be forewarned, it’s pretty tough.”
What he doesn’t know - what no one on the team knows, though they might suspect - is that JJ has an ace up her sleeve in the form of the little blond three year old sitting next to her at the dinner table.
“How would you feel,” JJ looks at her son over the divine cacio e pepe Will prepared, “about going to the park with Jack tomorrow afternoon?”
“That would be so fun!” Henry exclaims enthusiatically.
“I thought we could meet him and Mr. Hotchner at the park and then invite them over for dinner,” JJ tells the excited boy, who nods aggressively.
“Can I show them my soccer?” he asks.
“Of course you can, kiddo,” Will giggles, ruffling Henry’s hair before wiping some cheese sauce from his chin with a napkin.
“Can we practice after dinner, daddy?” Henry asks, picking up a giant spoonful of his pasta.
“Absolutely, son, but we’re not gonna get out there if you don’t take smaller bites. Can’t have you chokin’ now,” Will admonishes sweetly. He looks over a JJ, his grin changing to a smirk and a single eyebrow raising at her.
“What’s that look for?” JJ asks innocently.
“Oh, nothin’, cher,” Will chuckles, looking back down at his plate and pulling up another spoonful of pasta. “I was thinking, however, that it might be nice to also invite over Y/N for dinner.”
“Oooh, can she come, pleeease? Miss Y/N is so nice!” Henry smiles broadly looking at his mom.
Will narrows his eyes teasingly at JJ, “But I’m sure that’s already a-plannin’ in that pretty head o’ yours, isn’t it?”
“It might be,” JJ replies, lips toying with a smirk of her own. “Of course Y/N should join us.” Henry cheers and takes another huge bite of his pasta.
Will grins and chuckles deeply, “I knew it.”
~~~
JJ doesn’t exactly keep it a secret, but she doesn’t outright tell Hotch that you’re meeting them at the park and then walking back with the whole crew to the Jareau-LaMontagne household for dinner.
The three adults are nearly run ragged by the time you walk up, clapping your hands and whooping playfully.
“So,” you greet the group, “from the looks of things, Jack and Henry are the winners?”
“Y/N!” Jack screams, rushing up to you and throwing his arms around your  midsection. Henry does the same moments later and you give both the boys a hug. You’ve always been kind to both Henry and Jack, but Jack’s comfort - a little boy who’s been through so much in his few years on earth - around you nearly puts a lump in JJ’s throat. She glances over at Hotch, who clearly feels the same way, incapable of fighting a small grin
“Hey, kiddos,” you beam, putting your arms around the boy. “Those kicks looked pretty impressive as I was walking up. Did you guys beat the grown ups at soccer?”
“Definitely,” Hotch assents, walking up to you. It’s obvious, to JJ anyway, that his arms are practically twitching with desire to wrap you in his arms. He rocks on his heels, glancing back at the Jareau-LaMontagnes briefly before turning back and saying, “I didn’t know you would be here.”
“Oh, well,” you swallow, clearly a tad uncomfortable at the idea that you’d surprised him, “JJ invited me to dinner and told me to meet them at the park and I-”
“It’s my fault,” Will suddenly speaks up. JJ looks at him in surprise, but he looks steadfastly at you and Hotch. “I told Henry we’d find a time this week to play soccer with Jack and Hotch and forgot to tell JJ. She’d already invited Y/N to dinner, so I thought we’d just bring everyone together. I forgot to mention it to you, though, Hotch; I’m sorry.”
“It’s not an issue at all,” Hotch assures him, grinning, first at Will and then back at you, “just a pleasant surprise.”
You breathe out a sigh of relief and smile at the Unit Chief, who continues beaming down at you like he’s never a more wonderful sight. The boys run between the two couples, kicking around the ball a bit, as you and Hotch begin having a quiet, but clearly sweet conversation - if your continued smiles are anything to go on.
“Head over heels, ain’t they?” Will whispers, stepping over to JJ.
“Hey,” she replies, “thanks for covering my ass back there.”
“I’ll always cover your ass, cher,” he promises, wrapping an arm around her waist.
“The grown ups are being gross,” Jack states matter-of-factly, making Henry giggle like crazy.
“Yeah,” agrees the three year old, trying to be as cool as his five year old friend, “gross.”
“Well, then,” you laugh, clearly trying not to look flustered, “why don’t the two of you lead us to dinner. Then we can stop being...what was the word you used?”
“Gross!” the two boys giggle in tandem before running slightly ahead as the four adults follow along, grins all around.
~~~
She hasn’t thought this plan all the way through. She was worried one of you would duck out after seeing the other there, or at least leaving early. She hadn’t anticipated both of you walking to the house, sitting around the counter with glasses of wine while the boys played more and as Will finished off the roast chicken, mashed potatoes, and while she made the salad. She hadn’t anticipated you two sitting next to each other at dinner. And now she has no idea how to address the elephant in the room.
Is this what the group meant? she thinks to herself. Is it just...a hard subject to broach? She hates to be that person, but her plan’s gone just a bit too well. The boys are watching a movie in the living room while the adults sit in the adjacent dining room, watching the boys and talking quietly.
It’s almost too blissful, and it feels weirdly comfortable. Just two couples sitting in the warmth of an after dinner glow, talking about work and entertainment and having fun. It hits her then: You and Hotch are a couple.
As though sensing her realization, JJ’s phone buzzes in her pocket. She pulls it out and huffs out a short breath at the name on the screen: Strauss.
“Excuse me,” JJ says, stepping out of the room. “Strauss?”
“Agent Jareau,” the woman says on the other end of the line, “do you know where Agent Hotchner is?”
“He’s here, actually,” JJ answers, slightly confused. “He and Jack joined Will and I for dinner.”
“Oh, good, well you can tell him, then,” Strauss replies, her tone as clipped as ever.
“Tell him what, exactly?”
“I’m so sorry to do this to you all,” Strauss sighs intensely, “but there’s been a series of killings in Denver over the past two months and the police believe the killer is escalating. The killings are getting closer together.”
“Oh,” JJ replies, finally processing what the section chief is telling her. “We’ve got a case?”
“Yes, Agent,” Strauss clarifies. “And we’ll need the team on the jet within two hours.”
“Understood,” JJ answers resolutely, unable of keeping the disappointment out of her voice.
“I know you all were promised a week off,” Strauss says after a moment, “and I’m sorry, but there’s no other teams available and the Denver police are desperate.”
“No, I understand,” JJ assures her. “We’ll get to the jet by 9.”
“The jet?” you ask, and JJ hangs up the call, turning to see you standing at the entrance to the kitchen.
“Yes,” JJ nods, “there’s a case in Denver that needs us apparently.”
“Denver?” Hotch asks, coming to stand behind you.
“Apparently there’s an escalating killer,” JJ informs him. “I’m sure you need to call Jessica?”
“I can drop Jack off,” you offer. “Since Jessica’s apartment is on the way to mine.”
JJ barely fights the smirk that she feels growing on her lips, wondering how long you’ve had this knowledge.
“That’d be great,” Hotch nods, “I’ll call her if you’ll grab Jack.”
“No problem,” you smile. “Thanks for having us, JJ. I’ll see you in an hour.”
“Yeah, thanks, JJ; see you soon,” Hotch says quickly, already calling Jessica.
JJ walks to the bedroom where Will is already gathering her go bag.
“I don’t deserve you,” she smiles at him, trying not to sound too sad.
“Yes you do, Mrs. Jareau-LaMontagne,” Will assures her, walking over and wrapping his arms around her. “And when you get home, we’ll celebrate Valentine’s Day and I’ll get to show you.”
JJ giggles and presses a gentle kiss to his lips, “I love you.”
“I love you, too, my brave girl,” Will whispers. He pulls her into a hug and the two of them stand for just a moment, staring out at the night sky.
“You know those two are in love, right?” he asks her, gesturing his head towards the window. JJ follows his line of sight to see you and Hotch standing at his car. Jack is standing between the two of you, your hands on his shoulders as he smiles up at you both. Hotch is rubbing a hand up and down your arm, clearly unaware that the two of you can be seen. He crouches down and says something to Jack before pressing a quick kiss to his son’s forehead. He then stands, dropping a kiss to your lips before opening his car door, getting in and driving off. You wrap Jack in a reassuring hug before tugging him into your car and driving off.
“Yeah,” JJ smiles as you drive off, “yeah, I know.”

A call to action. National “Shut’em Down” demonstrations August 21st and September 9th. Originally published on the Jailhouse Lawyers Speak blog.
Over the last year prisoners across the country have been holding the longest and largest spontaneous demonstrations in response to covid. With approximately 300,000 (the number is possibly as high as 800,000) people in prison having been infected by covid prisoners have continued to demand basic human rights protections. These demonstrations have been sporadic and largely ignored by the public as prisoners and supporters demanded covid safety and precautions be enacted in prisons. In a number of states, these covid demonstrations have turned into widespread and hard fought successful court battles for releasing prisoners.
As we draft this press release we note that North Carolina is about to release approximately 3,000 prisoners due to a lawsuit settled over covid.
Even with all the releases and won policy changes, this country cannot make up for the hundreds of thousands that became ill or the thousands that were killed by covid. Unlike reporters we know that everytime a prison official comes to work, our lives are in jeopardy because they may be infected. The same is true regarding prisoners deaths, we attribute every death to prison officials infecting the prison population.
Now let us take a moment to think on how over the capacity US prisons and jails are. People are being stacked on top of each other. Even with their on guard to prisoner ratio, they admittedly fall outrageously short.
Lives could have been saved if America was on the path of Abolition. We must struggle harder to close prisons, jails and to free people from the grips of American prison slavery. This is all stated while recognizing that we must develop effective strategies to have the billions of taxpayers dollars used to grow the prison industrial slave complex (PISC) redirected to the communities.
Without going into the recent political presidential acrobats, we do want to acknowledge we feel a stronger need then ever to make it known that the people in prison struggles will not be pushed to the back burner in the muddy waters of trying to make people feel good about their party politics.
In the spirit of Abolition on the historical dates of August 21st and September 9th, 2021 organizers must highlight prisoners’ historical struggles, and the current political struggles to dismantle the prison industrial slave complex. Jailhouse Lawyers Speak is calling for mass outside demonstrations.
Specific locations: ICE, jails, prisons, and higher learning institutions. (With regards to higher learning institutions we are pointing towards the learning institutions with connections to prison labor).
A few states may already have specific ongoing campaigns that directly speak to decarceration or closing down a prison or jail. Efforts should be made to network to boost those campaigns on these dates at the recommended locations.
With everyone working across the nation on the same days, this would magnify our struggle for humanity and highlight specific state related campaigns. These “Shut’em Down” demonstrations should serve as a wake up call to every person in this nation that the current jailing path does not work and it’s time to end it.
In the days leading up to the Shut’em Down demonstrations, we will post locations of planned Abolition demonstrations and endorsements of these events on our website: http://Iamweubuntu.com/shutemdown

Waywardtravelerfart check in from out of home: what’s our leftist damage control plan for the horned Nazi at the capitol?
You mean because of the heathen imagery? I have a bunch of thoughts.
From what I gather the guy is some kind of weird syncretic spiritual Christian and heathens have been pretty quick to point this out both as a way of distancing themselves from him and just because it’s important context generally. But I think what heathens are missing is that we’re not as unconnected to this guy as they think. While I don’t know the details of what he says or believes or where it comes from, the roots of modern heathenism include syncretic Christian mysticism, Theosophical spiritual racism, and conspiratorial occult revisionist history. The most (or at least second-most) influential author of books about rune magic (Thorsson/Flowers) is keeping alive the theories of a nationalist (Johan Bure) who thought that an order of masters of the “runic mysteries” had guided the transition from pre-Christian heathenry to Christianity such that the important parts are the same in both. We really don’t have the luxury of not knowing this stuff, and if we want to convince others that we have nothing to do with the Q-shaman we better make sure we’re auditing our own influences.
On a different note, I think it might be helpful for heathens to start thinking less in terms of “racist vs. anti-racist” and more in terms of the three-way fight between us, the fascists, and the neoliberal settler state. This is basically what I’m getting at in this post. This is playing out in a very broad way as people argue that we all have a duty to side with the state against the chuds who stormed the capitol, as if this weren’t the same security apparatus that REGULARLY funds, plans, and trains people to enact coups and put down rebellions all over the world. We can’t base our appeals for legitimacy in complicity or nonconflictuality with the settler state. The openly reactionary nationalism of the MAGA people and the neoliberal security state that has finally started taking a minimum of action against the former now that it’s politically convenient (remember, they already had the anti-terror laws they needed to stop this at any time, chose not to, and do not need more), are two different, competing but barely conflicting strategies for preserving white supremacy; both have in common ICE detention facilities, bombing hospitals, seizing Indigenous lands on behalf of corporations, the prison industrial complex, and again, I really can’t stress this enough, staging coups.
The reason this is all so important for our messaging is that when heathens actually do have a real anti-racist movement, we will be discredited in ways that are related (though, not as intensely) to the ways movements in the history of the Black radical tradition have been discredited (or, maybe the environmental movement is a better comparison). The heathen strategy for public relations has usually been to appeal to media and organizations like the SPLC, but we need to learn to speak for ourselves and not beg for approval, because then that's what informs our values and our actions. Let me put it bluntly: liberal heathen anti-racism is an appeal to not be excluded on religious grounds from the benefits of white supremacy.
All of this being said, it remains true that we have to make it clear who we are and what we stand for, vocally denounce folkish heathenry and this Q-shaman loser, because we also have to remember that there are heathens and heathen-curious people out there who aren’t white, are queer, are disabled, and are otherwise marginalized, who need to know that there are people out there that they can relate to and trust. It’s just that making ourselves deserving of that trust comes first.
Since we don’t have a real heathen antifascist, anticolonial movement (i.e. we have antifascist heathens, but no ability to coordinate action as antifascist heathens at a scale beyond the individual affinity group), the best things for heathens to do are to start building the connections to develop one, and simultaneously do work toward these ends with non-heathens. Just to be clear, when I say “coordinate action” I’m not saying that we need another national heathen org that can disseminate orders but this time make it good. I mean building relationships with people who have goals in common and working together to accomplish those goals without collapsing or undermining their unique identities and autonomy. This applies equally among heathens, and between heathens and non-heathens. I think what would be unique about heathenry in this context would be the way that our relationships of solidarity impact the way we express our religion and feed back into the continued development of heathenry. It would also establish a place for heathenry in the histories of other, non-heathen communities, and thereby make these appeals for approval from big platforms less relevant or even obsolete. Undoubtedly this would, over time, develop a wide-ranging diversity of heathen thought and expression that would make its distinction from folkish heathenry self-evident at even the most superficial observation.

Instructions to Dispose of a Fridge Responsibly
Consistently roughly 3 million refrigerators are discarded in the UK (and a further 3 million purchased). It's assessed that the normal life expectancy of a cooler is 11 years, anyway a significant extent stay being used for over 20 years. A considerable lot of the substances contained in ice chests are exceptionally hurtful for the climate whenever discarded mistakenly. This article clarifies somewhat more about what those substances are, the enactment overseeing cooler removal, and the different methods of how to discard a refrigerator mindfully. What are the unsafe substances in refrigerators? Most coolers made before 2000 contain Chlorofluorocarbons ('CFCs') or Hydrochlorofluorocarbons ('HCFCs') in their protection material or potentially their refrigerant. CFCs and HCFCs are synthetic mixtures including carbon, fluorine, chlorine, and hydrogen. Non-poisonous and non-combustible, they were utilized broadly in vaporizers, fridges and solvents until it was found that the CFC particles were being stalled by Ultra Violet (UV) radiation and delivering a chlorine iota that was diminishing ozone in the environment. Ozone exhaustion causes expanded degrees of hurtful UV-B radiation to arrive at our planet. Accordingly, a worldwide Treaty (the Montreal Protocol) was endorsed to eliminate their creation. How might I tell if my refrigerator contains hurtful substances? In the event that your refrigerator was made before 2000 all things considered, it contains Ozone Depleting Substances ('ODS') like CFCs or HCFCs in its protecting froth or refrigerant. Your refrigerator ought to be set apart with a plate expressing the producer, model, chronic number and what sort of refrigerant has been utilized. The most widely recognized codes are: Pre-1994 R11 = CFCs contained in protection R12 = CFCs utilized as a refrigerant 1994-2000 R22/R141b/R142b = HCFCs contained in protection R134a = HFCs utilized as a refrigerant What enactment is applicable to householders discarding their old refrigerator? There are 3 key bits of enactment that cover cooler removal: 1. Obligation of Care - Waste (Household Waste) Duty of Care (England and Wales) Regulations 2005 - all householders disposing of waste (not simply old coolers!) have an obligation of care to guarantee that it is discarded appropriately. By and by this implies that you need either a) to take it to an authorized waste office (eg. neighborhood community convenience site), or b) to guarantee that any outsider you use to eliminate the waste is enrolled as a waste transporter with the Environment Agency and gives you a properly finished Waste Transfer Note for the assortment. Penetrate of your obligation of care is a criminal offense and can likewise prompt common responsibility if your waste winds up being discarded inaccurately (eg. fly-tipped). 2. Expulsion of ODS - EC guideline 2037/2000 - all refrigeration units containing Ozone Depleting Substances (ie. CFCs and HCFCs) should have those ODS eliminated in a controlled way before the apparatus is rejected. Inability to follow these guidelines conveys a fine of up to £2,500 and qualification for indictment. 3. Reusing and Recovery - The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment guidelines ('WEEE Regs') - place a commitment on producers, retailers, wholesalers, nearby specialists, squander the board organizations, shippers, exporters and business clients to reuse, reuse and recuperate ice chest units at every possible opportunity. What are my alternatives for dependable removal? Here are the different ways that a householder can discard their old cooler mindfully: Give or Sell As a matter of first importance, if your old ice chest is good to go, you could offer it to a companion, neighbor or relative. There are likewise various sites committed to reusing working machines like Freecycle. Some recycled sellers might be keen on your machine in case it's in acceptable condition. You could likewise sell it yourself by putting an advert in the nearby paper, on a neighborhood site, for example, Gumtree or open up to a more extensive crowd utilizing eBay. There can be intricacies with these strategies including hardships organizing transportation for massive things. It is likewise important that most of ice chests actually contain substances that could be destructive whenever taken care of mistakenly.
Tumblr media
Take to the Local Tip/Household Waste Recycling Center (HWRC) In case you're feeling solid and have appropriate vehicle (be careful with the danger of synthetic spillage!), you can take your old cooler to your nearby community convenience site/HWRC for removal for nothing. Make a point to check in advance however regardless of whether your HWRC site acknowledges coolers in light of the fact that not all do. Electrical Retailer's Service On the off chance that you've purchased another refrigerator, the retailer might offer a help to remove the bygone one when the upgraded one is conveyed. Hope to pay an extra £15-£30 for the help. Nearby Authority Collection Service As an inhabitant, your nearby gathering is obliged to give an assortment administration to your old refrigerator. Fortunately gatherings don't will in general charge a lot to do this (eg. London district of Barnet charges £40) yet the disadvantage is that reaction times are ordinarily very lethargic (regularly somewhere around up to 14 days) and you should move the cooler external yourself before assortment.

Selma marcher sees history repeat with new challenges to voting
New Post has been published on https://appradab.com/selma-marcher-sees-history-repeat-with-new-challenges-to-voting/
Selma marcher sees history repeat with new challenges to voting
“It was horrible,” Bland recalls now. “There was this one lady, I don’t know if the horse ran over her or if she fell, but all these years later, I can still hear the sound of her head hitting that pavement.”
The march — known as Bloody Sunday — so shocked the nation that it helped mobilize Congress to pass the Voting Rights Act. That landmark legislation finally dismantled the Jim Crow-era laws that relied on obscure civics tests, discriminatory poll taxes and violence to deny full citizenship to all Americans.
But today, 55 years later, Bland feels as though she’s re-living parts of the past as she surveys a country riven by racial tension, where Black men and women die too often at the hands of police, and in which states press ahead with purging voters from their rolls and enforcing strict voter identification laws — even as a once-in-a-century pandemic stalks their citizens.
“Sometimes I wake up and I think we are paralleling the 60s all over again,” Bland said in an interview from her home in Selma, where she leads tours of the city’s civil rights landmarks. “The laws that they passed to prevent African Americans from voting were insurmountable, and states could make up their own rules. That’s pretty much where this is going now.”
History repeated
Once again, Alabama is among the states at the forefront of the battles over voting.
A cluster of voting-rights groups has sued the Secretary of State John Merrill and other election officials over requirements that voters casting ballots by mail must make a copy of their photo identification and sign their ballots in front of two witnesses or a notary public. The groups also want the state to allow curbside voting.
Forcing voters to meet those requirements and have contact with other people in the middle of a pandemic, puts Alabamians who potentially face serious health consequences from the coronavirus at greater risk, said Caren Short, a senior staff attorney with the Southern Poverty Law Center, one of the groups suing over the restrictions.
Although African Americans make up only about 27% of Alabama’s population, they have accounted for nearly 40% of confirmed Covid-19 deaths in the state, according to the state’s Department of Public Health.
Short credits Alabama officials with moving to expand voting by mail because of the pandemic, but she said that’s not good enough.
“Alabama is the birthplace of the civil rights movement, and it’s the birthplace of the voting rights movement,” she said. “It really should be the state where officials are making it as simple and as easy a process as possible for citizens to vote.”
Merrill told Appradab the voter ID and witness requirements are enshrined in state law and can’t be suspended. “We don’t have the ability to set aside state law because we’re not interested in it or because we don’t think it’s appropriate at this time,” he said.
He said his overarching goal as secretary of state is to “make it easy to vote and hard to cheat.”
A supreme fight
The skirmish is just the latest legal battle in Alabama over voting rules.
The most consequential for the state and the nation came in 2013 when the Supreme Court sided with Shelby County, Alabama, in a challenge to federal oversight in places with a history of discrimination.
The Shelby ruling defanged the Voting Rights Act by tossing out the portion of the law that determined which states needed approval from the US Department of Justice or a federal court before they could make changes to their voting procedures and laws.
Before the ruling, those blanket rules meant states needed prior permission to make changes, big and small, to their voting practices — ranging from moving a polling place to redrawing electoral districts or changing the date of an election.
The case centered on a local redistricting plan from Shelby County, but the 5-4 decision reverberated across the nation, especially in the nine states and parts of six others that required so-called pre-clearance of voting changes.
Within hours of the high court’s decision, Texas — one of the states subject to pre-clearance — announced voter identification rules would take effect in the state. Alabama and other states, including Mississippi, began to enforce strict voter ID laws. Other states have enacted new restrictions, such as signature match laws that require a voter’s signature on an absentee ballot to match their signature on voting rolls.
Post-Shelby, it’s now up to the Justice Department, individuals and groups to pursue court challenges of voting laws they view as discriminatory. Rick Hasen, an expert on election law at the University of California, Irvine, and a Appradab contributor, said the Obama administration filed “litigation where they could.”
But the Trump administration’s record protecting voting rights has been “abysmal,” he said. “I can’t think of a single thing that the Trump administration has done, coming out of the Justice Department, to help minority voters.”
In Alabama, Merrill, who helped write his state’s voter ID law while serving in the state legislature, disputes that Alabama laws have made it harder for any Black voters to cast their ballots in the state.
Voter registration has soared during his tenure, he said, with 96% of eligible African American residents registered to vote, compared to 91% of White Alabamians. He said the state works to make sure every qualified voter has photo identification.
In Georgia, a potential presidential battleground state this year, battles have raged over the state’s aggressive removal of voters from registration rolls. Voting rights groups have accused the state of improperly purging legitimate voters; state officials say they are engaged in routine list maintenance.
Bland, now 67, has followed the raft of new laws from Selma — a city she returned to in 1989 after stints in the US Army and time living in Florida and New York.
“Purging the rolls, closing down polls in rural communities, requiring an exact signature,” she said ticking off the changes she’s seen across the country. “But we’re not going to let them discourage us. We’ll follow their rules until we can change them.”
Young freedom fighter
Bland was exposed to voting rights fights at a young age.
Her mother died in childbirth when Bland was just three, and her grandmother, Sylvia Johnson, moved back to her native Alabama from Detroit to help care for the family, Bland said.
Bland said her grandmother was shocked by how little had changed. Barriers to voting still included poll taxes and literacy tests, that among other things, required would-be voters to read aloud parts of the Alabama state Constitution, know the exact size of Washington, DC, as spelled out in the US Constitution (10 square miles) and which of the original 13 states had the largest representation in the first Congress (Virginia).
The answers were “impossible to know unless you were a civics genius,” changed frequently and varied by county — all in “in a concerted effort to make it as difficult as possible for individuals to pass,” said John Giggie, who directs of the Frances J. Summersell Center for the Study of the South at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Local officials had discretion over who got the hardest questions and what it took to pass the tests.
In 1965, before the passage of the Voting Rights Act, only about 2.1% of voting-age Black residents of Dallas County, where Selma is located, were registered.
Johnson, with all four of her grandchildren in tow, began to attend mass meetings of the Dallas County Voters League, led by Amelia Boynton, one of Selma’s civil-rights pioneers. While the adults talked strategy, Bland said she was focused on more prosaic issues: chiefly, how to gain access to the lunch counter at Carter’s Drug Store in downtown Selma.
“I wanted to sit there like those white kids and spin around on those stools and eat ice cream,” she recalled. “Grandmother said, ‘Colored children can’t sit at the counter, but when we get our freedom, you can do that.’ “
“I became a freedom fighter the day she told me that,” she said, attending her first meeting of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) at age 8.
As a child, she thought the marches themselves were fun. “The spirit of the movement is what we liked the most,” Bland said.
She said she and her friends thought little of joining the throng headed to the bridge on that Sunday in March for what supposed to be the first leg of a 54-mile trek to the Alabama State Capitol in Montgomery to demand voting rights.
“I didn’t know there was the possibility of any violence,” she said. “Then, I crested the bridge and saw the police across all four lanes.”
Pandemonium ensued as the troopers pushed into the crowd. Images from that day show one swinging his baton at Lewis, as the then-25-year-old SNCC chairman raises his right hand, trying to shield his head from the blows. Boynton was beaten unconscious.
“They were running the horses into the crowd,” Bland recalled. “People were being trampled.”
Choking on tear gas, the young Bland fainted in terror. Someone picked her up and took her safety. She awoke in a car, her head in her sister’s lap.
But two days later, she and her sisters were on the bridge again, now joined by 2,000 others and led by The Rev. Martin Luther Jr., for what became known as “Turnaround Tuesday.” She still was scared and wanted to turn back, Bland said, but her sisters grasped her hands tightly to keep her in place, telling her: ” ‘They won’t beat Dr. King.’ “
King and march leaders, obeying a federal court injunction, prayed and sang when they encountered the police blockade that day and turned the protesters around. The march to Montgomery would proceed later that month with Alabama National Guard troops, now under federal command, protecting the protesters.
A lifetime’s work
For Bland, what followed was a life dedicated to social justice that included helping to found a museum of voting rights in Selma to help residents tell their own stories of the struggle.
And she sees parallels between her past and the protesters today who have taken to the streets to demand change, following the deaths of George Floyd and others at the hands of police. Police brutality “hasn’t stopped one day since I’ve been on this Earth,” she said. “But now you can see it in real time.”
In the run-up to November’s election, she’s spending her days pushing everyone she sees to register, get their absentee ballots and use them. On Election Day, she’ll be where she usually is: At the polls. For some 30 years, she worked there in some capacity — early on as a Democratic poll watcher, this year as an official poll inspector.
Lewis’ death in July at 80 has renewed calls by some national activists to rename the bridge in his honor. Pettus, its namesake, was a Confederate general, US Senator and Ku Klux Klan leader in Alabama.
But Bland would rather see it left as it was the day she crossed it as a young girl.
“What happened on that bridge in ’65 gave that bridge a new meaning,” she argued. “It’s now synonymous with freedom all over the world.”
The best way to honor, Lewis, she said: “Get out and vote.”
