Aude descends on Val Faim with far more energy and zeal than its preceding spring siblings. Without regard for any kind of schedule or urgency in its citizens’ lives, the city is barraged by storms so powerful that water floods the streets and shakes the buildings with the force of the winds. Mages are brought out to attempt to control the weather, but Empress Calandre Valence watches the chaos with a look that can only be described as discerning. She has emerged from her difficult mood into a woman more passive, ever regal, and unshaken. Whatever terrifying display of emotion was on display at the end of the previous month, she has rallied herself in the same way she rallies her advisors.
Trigger Warning: Assassination attempt, violence, death
THE FOURTEENTH OF AUDE, 936
The storm has lasted two weeks. Crosshatched searches for Amelie have found nothing in spite of MICHEL’s efforts, and there is a sense of doom and gloom to the air. “Enough of this! I want some joy, some passion. The Opera. We’ll host an event at the Opera House, with a grand party to follow afterwards.”
In moments like these, it is easier to recall that Calandre was only a child when she took the throne. She seems as young today as she was when she ended her father’s life and felt his blood on her hands. The Empress’ word is law, and her advisors are sent off like dogs on the hunt. Invitations are sent out in record time, and within a week, the news has spread across Val Faim like wildfire, as if to purposefully spite the continuous barrage of rain. The news comes especially as a surprise to LUCRECE, the newest owner of L’Opera Imperial, who is suddenly hard-pressed to throw together a show for the Empress that is worthy of Odeline Herself. They call for MÉLODIE immediately and get to work on throwing something together.
CYRIL finds themselves with an even heavier workload than usual. On top of taking care of the Empress’ pressing fashion needs, what feels like half of the city flocks to the tailor in an effort to attain a piece of theirs, be it gloves, mask, dress, trousers -- whatever CYRIL will give them, they’ll take. By the time the date arrives, their shop has been cleared out of almost all their fabrics and supplies. They are effectively going to have to start from square one after this event is done. This doesnt stop ISEULT from calling, however, dragging SAVATIER in tow in an effort to make them look somewhat presentable instead of like a hermit.
Another finds themselves with their hands full: EMERIC answers LUCRECE’s desperate call for catering with the kindness of an old friend, and now not only are they going to be in attendance, but La Perche’s cuisine is up on the chopping block as well. For years, the restaurant has wavered between struggling and shining, but this opportunity could make attendance soar. The success of their menu might mean the success of their livelihood, and with such short notice, their palms are beginning to sweat.
THE TWENTY-FIRST OF AUDE, 936
Like a wildfire, anticipation and anxiety begin to spread across Val Faim as the date draws ever closer, until the evening arrives on their doorsteps. Nobles and guests of all import gather together in the front rooms of L’Opera Imperial. ROTH and MEDRAUT survey the crowds for any kind of threat, but the room broils with people stirring to and fro, desperate to get to their seats or get another drink before the fun begins. ADRASTE is given by their mentors to explore, and ends up caught in conversation with HECTOR, who has been dodging LUCRECE all night.
YVON and GISELE dance a strange and uncomfortable dance around each other when their eyes meet across the room, YVON bracketed by their socialite friends and more notably, BEAU. As soon as they’re there, however, BEAU is gone, sent to tail GISELE and see what they do throughout the course of the night.
CECILE and ROSALIND find themselves a little disgruntled upon realizing they’ve been made to share the same box for the evening, a directive from Calandre herself, perhaps in an effort to have them ease the quietly-brewing feud between them. As attendees settle into their seats, anticipation pricks the back of everyone’s necks. They don’t know what to expect. Maybe that’s for the better. An unexpected third guest in their box is CELESTE, having been instructed by LIANE to explore L’Opera Imperial for anything of note or interest.
RÉGIS sees the opportunity to whittle away at DEGARÉ further and attempts to strike up a conversation with them, only to be interrupted by HECTOR, who finds they have little care for the actual subject matter so long as they can appear involved enough that LUCRECE won’t interrupt, their conversation with ADRASTE having finished.
The curtain finally rises. A hush falls over the room. All eyes move to the stage as MÉLODIE emerges, waiting for their cue to break into song. The fanfare for the evening, SYLVIANE realizes, is about a fictional artist coming to the capital city to paint a mural that comes to life and threatens the life of the king. Those sitting around them, HELENE and VASKA, chuckle in amusement as they come to that same conclusion.
MÉLODIE is truly a sight to be admired on stage as they roll their way through the pieces with a magnificent ease that implies they were given plenty of time to practice — even if truthfully, they were not. Up in their own box and seated alongside Calandre’s guest of honor, DAGHAN, SIDONIE finds themselves forced to try and make conversation.
VIOLAINE has other plans for the evening. As MÉLODIE moves into the next aria, they go to approach CASSIAN and ROWAN just outside the entryway to the auditorium to discuss the letter they discovered belonging to Amelie. The Ambassadors and socialite don’t know each other well, but if ROWAN or CASSIAN have future motives against the Empire, maybe a little bit of a nudge in the right direction will see VIOLAINE and their betrothed in better circumstances come the future. The Ambassadors take the letter and tuck it away to look over later. PATRICE notices this odd conversation and listens in, but does not confront VIOLAINE until after the performance is done; they ask PATRICE not to share with GHISLAIN what they have heard, but PATRICE makes it clear they intend to do so anyways. What do they have to lose, in telling the truth? Why should anyone stop them?
On their patrol, ROTH and MEDRAUT see a figure slipping through the shadows around the Opera House. They attempt to pursue, but intermission arrives, and people soon flood into the streets and lobby for a breath of fresh air. They attempt to press through the crowd but are soon swept up and lose sight of their target. When the crowd dwindles a little, they decide to ask LIANE is they’ve seen or heard anything strange, as the Spymaster might be the best resource to ask. Guards are easy to avoid. Spies, on the other hand, are not.
During intermission, some stand to stretch their legs and mill about. Many go to visit AGRIPPINE and discuss the possibility of a new sponsorship, which GHISLAIN takes quiet note of. They try to speak with AGRIPPINE afterwards in an effort to confirm that they’ll stay with him. DEGARÉ overhears and can’t help but have their interest peak in recognition of the conversation, attempting to intervene.
EMERIC spends the majority of their time catering and trying to ensure things run smoothly. This, of course, would be a breeze if it weren’t for MATTHIEU accidentally running into a waiter and sending hors d'oeuvres everywhere. The two have a fiery confrontation before MATTHIEU goes to find CECILE and ZHENYA, leaving EMERIC to pick up the scraps.
The rest of the show plays out beautifully. SAINTE rifles a little alongside the rest of the crowd when the plot implies that the artist’s inevitable, greed-driven downfall was caused by his dedication for Odeline, which brought his art to life in a cruel manner, but ZHENYA, seated nearby, sees them bristle from afar and tries to speak to them after to calm their worries, even if their feelings on the matter aren’t the same. SAINTE eventually goes to leave and stumbles across SYLVIANE in the hall, trying to collect themselves in the wake of what feels like a show dedicated entirely to them, and not in the most pleasant way. Strangely, VASKA is not with their charge.
ISEULT quietly exits the auditorium, feeling something strange prick at the back of their neck. They wander the mostly-empty halls for some time, only to find themselves face-to-face with a woman shrouded in black with shadows at her feet. They hardly have time to recover before there is a knife buried in their jugular. SAVATIER, having followed ISEULT, instead finds their crumpled body in the hallway and realizes they need to hide them, quickly, before they return to life.
CELESTE, however, still wandering, stumbles upon SAVATIER attempting to take care of their bodyguard, unsure of what has occurred. SAVATIER convinces CELESTE to leave them be, but soon runs to LIANE to report back the bizarre event they’ve witnessed.
As the show comes to its conclusion and the encore begins, lasting several minutes, people begin to gather their things and take their leave. Flowers are tossed atop the stage in thanks for such a wonderful performance. The Empress is first to depart, of course, and this is when all hell breaks loose. From the shadows in Calandre’s box emerges Amelie, long-toothed dagger in hand. With smoke swirling around her feet, the remnant of her disguise, she plunges it into Calandre’s back. The Empress lets out a cry of pain before she crumples to the ground. Before anyone has the chance to stop her, Amelie is gone, fleeing as quickly as her legs will carry her.
VICTOIRE, having been stuck patrolling the halls for the sake of security and only getting to enjoy the show in fragments, is sent sprinting after Amelie as she runs out towards the vast doors that will provide her an exit. They pursue Amelie three blocks before they find her in the hands of BASTILE, looking bewildered as Amelie attempts to struggle and break free from the mercenary’s grasp. KARINE, having pursued Amelie on Alain’s command, is forced to involve themselves in the standoff until BASTILE hands her over to VICTOIRE. BASTILE and KARINE are left to balk at each other.
In transit to the Summer Palace, Amelie does her best to escape VICTOIRE, and seems to fail spectacularly all the way up until they are halfway through the Gardens. Only then does she seem to summon a knife from nowhere to plunge it into the junction between VICTOIRE’s neck and shoulder. It is then that MEDRAUT emerges from nowhere, having been directed to follow the Captain by ROTH. They finally knock Amelie out before rushing to get VICTOIRE help.
Back at L’Opera Imperial, people begin to panic upon hearing Calandre’s cry. MICHEL is left to try and direct the crowds, filter them out into the street rather than risk a mishap or fire. MÉLODIE is left horrified on stage, having seen their lover endure what must have been a fatal wound. They are left with a choice: do they try to make their way up to the box, or remain behind among the chaos? MICHEL tries to direct them out of the way, in the opposite direction of Calandre. In the end, it is ADRASTE who leaps to the stage, pulling the singer by the hand back to LUCRECE for their safety.
BEAU, having been told to tail GISELE, find themselves in a difficult position. GISELE seems reluctant to leave, looking for someone, although whether they search for their sibling or Gauthier is uncertain. The spy could stay, to see who they go for, but risk getting caught by the eldest Duval.
HELENE and DAGHAN rush to try and stem the blood-flow before the Empress succumbs to her injury, as dawning horror begins to crest over them that this wound might not be treatable.
SIDONIE goes to join them, unsure of how to help, but is brought to a halt where they stand, as screams of horror and alarm slowly dull as attendees are forced out of L’Opera Imperial. It is as though their entire body has been shot through with an arrow.
It is a feeling so strong they cannot ignore it: miles away, out in The Obsidienne somewhere, something unbidden tears open. Somehow, as if pulled by an unseen force, AGRIPPINE meets SIDONIE’s gaze across the room. There’s only one explanation for it. They felt it, too, but there is no putting to words what that might mean.
SIDONIE comes back to themselves after being jostled by LIANE, who tries to stir them back into awareness. The night moves quickly from there, as those who care for Calandre try to force their way through a torrent of rain to return to the Summer Palace. RÉGIS, eager to forget their awkward conversation from earlier, is close to follow, spurred on by their desire to see Calandre rid of and intent on causing some kind of delay. They run into ETIENNE and are stopped before they get the chance, sparking no small amount of suspicion on ETIENNE’s part. The Empress is taken to her quarters and sequestered away immediately, and in the days that follow, the only confirmation anyone will receive is that she survived. Her condition and state remain total mysteries.
Thus, the curtains close on L’Opera Imperial for now, and all are at odds with each other. Questions begin to raise: how was this allowed to happen? What should they do with Amelie, without their Empress’ directive? Whose head is on the chopping block for such a gratuitous fumble? What are the Ambassadors meant to do, with no figurehead to deal with or guide them? How should they proceed? No answers emerge in the weeks that follow, and in that murkiness, Alain Gauthier sees an opportunity he intends to take. With Calandre out of commission, even temporarily, perhaps now is a better time than ever to prove her incompetence, and that Val Faim — and Celestine as a whole — would thrive with someone else on the throne.
SUMMARY: And there we have it, our third scene! Amelie has attempted to take Calandre’s life, and while Amelie’s been placed in the custody of the Summer Palace, it is unclear as to whether or not Calandre will survive her injuries. You are free to write up to the 23rd of Aude, but for now, don’t go past that date.
At this moment, no one is allowed to visit the Empress in her critical condition. Those unsure of their loyalty to Alain may have to make some crucial decisions in the near future. The new skeletons in this event will be arriving this weekend. If you have any questions pertaining to the event, please drop them in the Discord channel! If you need any help plotting, or getting things started, please reach out and I’ll see what I can do to help. Thank you again, to all of you!
TIMESTAMP: The 31st of Maccius — The 23rd of Aude
SPECIFIC DATES:
The 14th of Aude: Calandre decides she wants to attend the Opera
The 21st of Aude: The Opera Occurs

roseate-angel’s tag ✧
hank you so much @wistfulgisellefor tagging me to do the @roseate-angel tag- the questions are so beautiful!!!✨♡
I’d like to tag (if you all haven’t done it already) @enjolrrs @orriculum @seafoambeauty @necromaency
What movie do you wish you were a character in?
I would love to be a character in Call Me By Your Name, because everything about it seems so genuine and raw. The Great Gatsby (Leo DiCaprio version) , to witness the grandeur and reality of the period and of the characters themselves. Alice in Wonderland, Narnia.... anywhere with a sense of magic in anyway. But to be perfectly honest I have no idea, there’s too many cinematic worlds I’d like to be a part of.
Create your dream fragrance; what would be the ingredients and the name?
Rose, rosemary, lavender, pomegranate, strawberry, ocean breeze, a bittersweet tear, honey, a confession of love. And I would name it Love Reincarnate.
As a siren, what bewitching song would you sing to lure people to their doom?
Salvatore by Lana Del Rey, God Knows I Tried by Lana Del Rey... honestly almost any Lana song.
*Clicks shoes together three times* Anywhere in the world (fantasy or reality) where would you go?
Greece, Italy, Chile, Mexico ( I miss it), almost anywhere... especially if it’s got that timeless feeling.
Similar to Harry Potter, if you could reside in a painting, which one would you choose?
The Birth of Venus by Botticelli, Van Gogh’s Field of Sunflowers,
Like the symbols associated with the gods and goddesses; what would be your chosen symbol/s to embody you as a person?
Dusty pink or lavender colour roses, papayas and/or strawberries and grapefruit, lotus flowers, sunsets, the new moon, summer rain/storms, the last blooming flower in spring, ladybugs, The Empress tarot card, love letters, love poems.
If you were to create your own met gala theme, what would it be based on?
Tarot Cards
What seven objects would you choose to hide a fragment of your soul in?
The grandfather clock that scared me in one of my childhood homes, the porcelain doll my grandmother gave me, a locket possessed by my first love, a mermaid’s mirror, a fey’s crown, a bottle at the bottom of a cenote, the most precious possession of the person who hurt me the most.
Your whistling while you work, what animals would you like to come and join you?
Swans, rabbits, dogs, cats, pretty much nothing that could sting me and or wants to bite me.
Like the story of Swan Lake; what mythical creature/beings from folklore, would you like to transform into by day?
A dragon or a phoenix. Idk tbh

R1CH
kpop legends R1CH. Been around for 15+ years and all well into their 30s now but still putting out hit after hit. They mainly stick to funk and hip house, but they've done everything from (very questionable) gangsta rap to power ballads.
Members: CiCi (ex-leader), Yeona, Lion (leader), Haeun (maknae)
Fandom name: Famous
Stage Name: CiCi Birth Name: Cecilia Yeung Position: Main Vocal, Original Leader (passed on to Lion in the mid-00s) Birthday: 1982 Zodiac: Capricorn Height: 178cm Weight: 52kg Blood Type: A Favourite Colour: Red Favourite Food: Mapo dofu, kimchi jjigae Least Favourite Food: White chocolate Hobbies: Watching musicals, clothes shopping, singing
CiCi Facts: - From Hong Kong. Moved to Seoul in 1997 to debut, now spends her time between the two cities. - Nowadays almost more famous as an actress than as a singer, but she enjoys singing more than acting. - OWNS the colour red. Likes red everything and anything. Her red and black Bugatti Veyron, which she bought after a role as a femme fatale race car driver, is a famous sight in Seoul. - Very popular model for fashion brands due to her unbelievable figure and sophisticated fashion sense. - Although she is the oldest and the original leader, she’s a bit too easygoing, and voluntarily gave up the position to Lion, who is a natural-born leader, once they were all legal adults. - Nicknamed “Empress CiCi” for her elegant appearance and many roles in period dramas. - Ideal type at debut: someone cool and strong. Ideal type now: someone gentle and independent.
BEHIND THE SCENES DATA: - Faced a lot of backlash at debut due to her nationality, to the point where she wouldn’t speak much or at all on variety shows. This led to her being seen as cold and snobbish, which got her even more hate. She leant into it with a “princess disease” vain concept as she got older, and as her curves filled out and her features settled in, the more people started to simply agree with her. - The only member who hasn’t had any work done on her face, but she has had her boobs done. - Not particularly interested in dating, especially seeing what her members have gone through. It’s not that she doesn’t find anyone attractive, it’s just that it doesn’t seem worthwhile.
Stage Name: Yeona Birth Name: Moon Yeo Na Position: Visual, Vocalist Birthday: 1982 Zodiac: Sagittarius Height: 162cm Weight: 51kg Blood Type: O Favourite Colour: Indigo Favourite Food: Anything low calorie (actually, anything high calorie) Least Favourite Food: Anything high calorie (actually, anything low calorie) Hobbies: Annoying the other members, shopping, makeup
Yeona Facts: - Variety goddess, always on TV making jokes and teasing hoobaes. - Very open about how much cosmetic surgery she’s had done, which is a lot. - Totally shameless. - Notorious for showing off her luxury goods hauls on social media  to the point it annoys some fans. - Famous for her honey thighs, which she says she used to hate but now considers her best feature. - Joked that she has only ever dated men only because she would probably get jealous if her girlfriend was prettier than her. - Ideal type at debut: someone charming and protective. Ideal type now: someone who laughs easily.
BEHIND THE SCENES DATA: - Infamous yoyo dieter, was a little chubby at debut and got bashed quite badly for it which inspired her first crash diet and her first round of cosmetic surgery. - Her face has pretty much changed entirely from debut, but she’s sworn off any more major procedures and now only sticks to botox and dissolvable fillers. - Still wants to get married, but as she doesn’t want children or to give up her career as most men would demand her to, she has been thinking more and more seriously about dating women. - Aware that the other members have much bigger/higher-paying gigs than her even though she’s the one who appears on TV the most, and is a little jealous of it. However, she enjoys doing variety and especially likes spending time with other idols who she likes mentoring and helping out. - Producer of DTSY/Moon Bunny Girls, though she’s fairly hands-off now that they’ve debuted. She still considers them her pride and joy, however.
Stage Name: Saja/Lion (think like Bi/Rain) Birth Name: Kang Mi Ja Position: Leader, Main Rapper, Composer Birthday: 1983 Zodiac: Leo Height: 158cm Weight: 43kg Blood Type: AB Favourite Colour: Highlighter yellow Favourite Food: Doesn’t really have one Least Favourite Food: Doesn’t really have one Hobbies: Composing, getting into scandals, makeup, dancing
Lion Facts: - The most popular solo artist in SK. Known to disrupt promotions for other groups just by posting comeback hints online, as every single solo she’s come out with has been a smash hit. - As she debuted very young, she used to have a sweet and cute image, but even as a 14 year old she was very outspoken and a troublemaker, so the company eventually relented and let her be herself. - She was often made fun of for her small and boyish figure, so in 2005 she got breast implants. She was then called a slut and plastic for them, so in 2010 she had them done again and much bigger, and wrote her first solo, the bassy hip-house bitch track “Top Heavy” about them. - Has been in quite a few drug-related scandals, often weed or MDMA. Wrote a song about a mushroom trip she went on while in The Netherlands and it stayed at the top of the charts for 3 months. - Although she performs mostly hip-hop for her own solos, she’s also a talented ballad composer and has written for many TV and movie soundtracks. - Feminist and aggressive about it. R1CH was banned from broadcast on a certain channel for over 3 years in the late 2000s due to her getting into a physical altercation with a high-up male staff member who was sexually harassing a member of another girl group, and to this day she’s still painted as a psycho violent man-hater by misogynists even though her side of the story has been proven true. - The violent part is not far off, though, as R1CH were once infamous for fighting, both within the group and with others, and almost all instigated by Lion. They have calmed down now they are in their 30s, but they still have a bit of a “gangdol” image, and Lion most of all. - Openly bisexual and a supporter of LGBT rights, has had multiple dating scandals with men and women which often come out at the same time the government is trying to cover something up. - Ideal type at debut: doesn’t have one. Ideal type now: someone warm-hearted and playful.
BEHIND THE SCENES DATA: -So popular she genuinely cannot hide anything. F
Stage Name: Haesun Birth Name: Kim Hae Sun Position: Maknae, Main Dancer Birthday: 1985 Zodiac: Scorpio Height: 166cm Weight: 46kg Blood Type: O Favourite Colour: White, baby pink Favourite Food: Daifuku, macarons Least Favourite Food: Spicy food Hobbies: Dancing, acting, cooking
Haesun Facts: - Unlike Lion, has kept her “innocent cutie” image from debut because she likes it. - Has modelled for virtually every high-end makeup brand there is. - Famous for her round face and thick aegyosal which lends to her forever-babyfaced appearance. - Gets in dating scandals fairly often, but due to her innocent image and the easy way she denies anything current but is quick to brush over past scandals as being “blown out of proportion”, they never stick and people tend to forget about them fairly quickly. - Ideal type at debut: a handsome prince. Ideal type now: a handsome prince who is quiet and shy.
BEHIND THE SCENES DATA: - Actually a total pervert, even more than Lion. Longest relationship to date was with a Taiwanese billionaire she met at an opening gala for one of CiCi’s movies, but it only lasted a year and a half before she broke up with him, much to the dismay of her hardcore fans who want her to settle down. - VERY kinky, shocked fans in the late 00s with a solo stage during a concert which involved her walking one shirtless man like a dog and sitting on another. Doesn’t show that side of her personality very much these days, but it still comes up now and then if she pushes the cuteness too much. - Doesn’t trust men in general due to her experiences in the entertainment industry from a young age, and thus only really dates younger and submissive men, or wealthy men she can use for their money. - Genuinely a very good cook and has thought about opening her own restaurant when her idol life is over, which she thought would be about 10 years ago but R1CH are still as popular as ever, so...

Disney/Non-Disney Questions (Strictly Animated- you’re about to see how sad I am when it comes to animated films)
1. Scene you wish you could live out? Ooooh I love the idea of seeing Atlantica in person so probably the first scene of the Little Mermaid where all the mermaids are swimming into the castle.
 2. Do you prefer CGI or Hand/Cell Animation? HAND/CELL ALL THE WAY!!! There is just... an endearing quality to the original hand/cell animation style of movies that I adore. It has a personality. Plus, the contrast of the painted background and the hand-drawn characters is so wonderfully nostalgic and captivating. Furthermore, hand/cell animations takes a tremendous amount of work in comparison to CGI which, whilst I understand why Disney does it CGI now because of it, it makes me feel like I’m watching something with more heart in it because of all the time, sweat and soul that went into it. I could honestly go on and on about hand/cell animation but I shall leave it there. Yes. Hand/Cell Animation will always be my preference.
 3. Which fairytale would you like to see animated next? Hans Christian Anderson’s The Wild Swans immediately springs to mind.
 4. Favourite voice actress? I’m terribly torn between Jodi Benson and Liz Callaway. I just... I can’t choose! I mean, Jodi Benson was singing/voice acting for both Thumbelina and Ariel (two of my favs). And then Liz Callaway singing/voice acting for Odette, and then singing for both Anastasia and Kiara. How do I choose?!?!?!
  5. Favourite voice actor? Has to be John Cusack for me, Dimitri’s voice in Anastasia just melts me and I could listen to it all day. An extremely close second is Gary Imhoff who voiced Prince Cornelius but Dimitri’s voice just gets to me whenever I hear it.
 6. Favourite first meeting scene? I want to say Ariel and Eric but it’s hard to say which one counts as their first official meeting... so, I’ll say Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, that whole scene is just pure gold.
 7. Mention one Disney related thing that can always cheer you up, no matter how sad you are (scene, song, character, movie etc.): The song “Why Should I Worry” from Oliver and Company never fails to make me smile. Such a classic catchy song.
 8. Mention one Non-Disney related thing that can always cheer you up, no matter how sad you are (scene, song, character, movie etc.): Batty from FernGully: The Last Rainforest is easily my answer for this one, every time he’s on screen, my depression fades away for a while.
 9. Which scene/s always makes you cry? Oh man, I’m a big cry baby when it comes to movies so I have a few but I’ll name my main ones. Like the ones where I really ball like an idiot.
- Fox and the Hound: when Widow Tweed takes Tod into the woods.
- Thumbelina: a few scenes honestly- when Thumbelina wishes she were big and felt all alone in the world, when Thumbelina is told that Cornelius is dead and when Thumbelina and Cornelius finally find each other.
- Dumbo: when Dumbo finds his mother and cuddles her before he has to leave her again. That entire scene kills me.
- Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron: when Rains gets shot.
- TInkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast: when the fairies take Gruff into his cave to go into hibernation for a thousand years (I am not joking one bit when I say that I cried at this for half an hour solid).
- Anastasia: when the Empress and Anya realise that they are indeed family
- Lion King: you know the fucking scene...
 10. Favourite Duet (romantic in particular)? It’s an absolute tie between Let Me Be Your Wings sung by Thumbelina and Prince Cornelius, and Far Longer Than Forever sung by Derek and Odette. Whilst there are many great Disney duets, none quite do it for me as much as these two. In my personal opinion, these two perfectly define what a duet should be. They all harmonise beautifully with the other, they use different pronouns sung together, they each have their own part as well as singing together, the lyrics are exquisite... I honestly am such a fan of these songs. If you’re curious, a second place option to this would be If I Never Knew You from Pocahontas (both the pop version and the original version that was cut from the first version of the movie).
11. A couple you wish had sung a duet together? Ariel and Eric. Whilst they did sing together very briefly in Little Mermaid 2, they never got an official duet. I mean, I know Eric didn’t sing at all in the first one but I don’t know... I would have loved to have them sing together.
 12. An underrated duet? I mean, my favourite duets are honestly very underrated, but I’ve already mentioned them. So… I feel like Looking Through Your Eyes sung by Kayley and Garrett is extremely underrated as everyone thinks of The Prayer when they think of Quest for Camelot.
 13. Name your top three Disney princes/male protagonists: Prince Eric, Flynn Rider aaaaaaand Kovu.
 14. Name your top three Disney princesses/female protagonists: Snow White, Ariel and Pocahontas.
 15. Name your top three Non-Disney male protagonists: Oh that is fucking easy for me- Prince Cornelius, Dimitri and Derek (Pips from FernGully almost made the cut).
16: Name your top three Non-Disney female protagonists: Anastasia, Thumbelina and Odette (I absolutely adore Crysta but I just couldn’t not include one of the other three… choosing three is so limiting).
 17. Favourite sidekick/s? Bartok (Rasputin’s sidekick, I kill myself laughing at his lines), Baymax (Hiro’s sidekick) and Meeko (Pocahontas’ sidekick)
 18. Favourite villain/s? Beetle (Thumbelina- he makes me laugh so much), Scar (Lion King), Zira (Lion King 2- she’s such an underrate villain, she is just so set on revenge) and Rasputin (Anastasia).
 19. If you were to marry a female/male protagonist, who would you choose? Before, my answer would have been Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid, but now my answer would be undeniably Prince Cornelius. And here is why. When it comes to Thumbelina, nothing is more important. He literally endeavours the harshness of autumn and winter to find her when she’s been kidnapped, and he never stops for one second. The only way he was stopped was when he was forced into water by the wind and was frozen alive. And even, as soon as he’s been melted free, he immediately goes to find her and fight for her. Like, you have to admire that utter devotion and dedication. And when he is with Thumbelina, he takes care of her in every way possible. If you watch him during their duet Let Me Be Your Wings, you’ll see that he always makes sure to have a hold of her when they’re flying. Like when Thumbelina bends down to run her fingers through the water, he has his arm around her waist to hoist her. He lifts her onto the boat where the Toad lives. He catches her when she falls (yes I know that’s a meme where he sings that he’ll never let her fall and then she does but the whole point of that damn part is that, when she does fall, she falls with no fear because Cornelius catches her the next second). He’s so attentive with her and the way he loves her name is just so cute. Also, I really love how he made sure Thumbelina’s mother was looked after by Hero the dog. He is so kind, heroic, skilful and loving. But then he is also funny, cocky (in the nice way), sarcastic, a cutely clumsy sometimes, and has a slight rebellious streak that is so god damn attractive. I mean, he loves flying and literally misses royal events and princely duties to fly around the world. Plus, he literally flies on his bumblebee, Buzzbee, like a motorbike, if that ain’t a badass fairy, I don’t’ know what is. You definitely can’t say he’s boring at all. Okay, that’s covering his personality kinda. Going into physical traits, he is of course extremely handsome. I have always been a sucker for red hair (and now my best friend thinks he is the original reason why). Green eyes… I mean, come on. A damn heart-melting smile and smirk. His speaking voice is as wonderful as his singing, including a hypnotising soft-spoken voice when he gets close with Thumbelina. He’s great with a sword. He shows that he’s good at dancing. And if I got anything from that last five minutes, it’s that he looks like he’s a great kisser. Like the passion in that kiss (for an animation too) is something I’ve never forgotten. He’s not overly muscular but has muscles for sure, but it’s in a slender form. And… you know… he’s a fairy. A fairy prince! I realise I really got into this answer but I really do feel like Prince Cornelius gets overlooked and… ugh, I just love him.
 20.  A song you love from that isn’t sung by the characters? Baby Mine from Dumbo.
 21. An underrated song? A Dream Worth Keeping by Sheana Easton from FernGully.
 22. An underrated ballad? Where Do I Go From Here sung by Pocahontas in Pocahontas 2.
 23. If you could be friends with a Disney character, who you would you choose? Mushu would be amazing, I’d forever be entertained.
 24. Favourite friendship? Robin Hood and Little John.
 25. Favourite villain song? In The Dark Of The Night sung by Rasputin in Anastasia. Other contenders are No More Mr Nice guy sung by Rothbart in The Swan Princess, My Lullaby sung by Zira in Lion King 2 and… of course… Be Prepared sung by Scar in Lion King.
 26. Three songs you can’t help but jig to? You’re Beautiful Baby from Thumbelina, Why Should I Worry from Oliver and Company, and Friend Like Me from Aladdin.
 27. Favourite Disney Reprise? Has to be Mother Knows Best Reprise, it’s leaps and bounds ahead of Mother Knows Best.
 28. Spell you name with character names/movies:
Ratatouille
Eric
Baloo
Esmerelda
Cornelius
Crysta
Anastasia
 Jim Hawkins
Ariel
Nala
Eeyore
 Robin Hood
Iago
Gaston
Bambi
Yzma
 29. How often do you watch an animated movie? At least twice a week. I’m legitimately watching Thumbelna as we type this and it’s the fifth time I’ve watched it in the last week and a half. Besides Horror, Disney/Non-Disney is my favourite film genre.
 30. What animated movies have taught you? To always believe in magic, to be kind even when no-one else is, and that there is nothing wrong with loving animated movies as an adult, animation is for everyone.
BONUS Q: 31. An animated movie that everyone needs to go and watch right now: Hunchback of Notre Dame, I’ll guarantee that you haven’t seen it in a long time and you are missing out one of Alan Menken’s greatest achievements in his musical career and beautiful story with a powerful message.

Another survey, you know how I feel about those...
1. You woke up naked next to the last person you texted, what would you say?   “Morning, sunshine.”
2. What’s going on between you and the last person you kissed?  It’s our 11th wedding anniversary today!
3. If your boyfriend or girlfriend was into drugs, would you care?  Yes, because drugs are one of the fastest ways to mess yourself up, and they never really ever let go.
4. Is your last name longer than six letters?  Yep.
5. Was your last kiss drunk or sober?  Ive never been drunk, all of my kisses have been sober.
6. Have you ever wanted to have someone but you messed it up?  I don’t think having a crush on someone and then moving away when I was 14 really counts...
7. What does your last received text say? *Sobs*  I know!
8. How many times have you kissed the last person you kissed?  Oh, too many to count, been kissing him for 13 years...
9. Where was your last kiss at?  Either on the couch or on the bed.
10. When is the last time you saw your sister?  I saw both of them yesterday!
11. What do you drink in the morning?  Water and Dr. Pepper
12. Where did you sleep last night?  In my bed.
13. Do you think relationships are hard?  They shouldn’t be that hard.  I think being an adult makes life hard, and that stress can easily transfer to relationships.  If a relationship is hard, and it’s not just normal responsible adult stress making it hard, maybe there’s something wrong.
14. If you could go back and change something in the past 5 months, would you?  Oh, I’m sure I would.  Not sure what, I’d have to think about it, but there’s always something I think I could have done better or different.
15. You’re locked in a room with the last person you kissed, any problems?  Absolutely not, he’s my favorite person.
16. Would you rather it be sunny or rainy?  Rainy all the way!
17. Do you know anyone with the same middle name as you?  Um... not off the top of my head, no.
18. Are you wearing jeans, sweatpants, or pajama pants?  Khaki shorts with cotton lace on the hem to make them a little bit longer.
19. Do you think you will be in a relationship 3 years from now?  Yep.
20. Does anyone like you?  I think so, yeah.
21. Have you ever kissed someone with a name that starts with an S?  Nope.  There was a D, a B, and a T, and a P ever since then.
22. Is the last person you kissed gay? Nope.
23. Is there a person you CANNOT stand?  Oh, there’s a few...
24. Have you ever considered getting a tattoo?  I save tattoo designs that I like, but I won’t ever actually get a tattoo.  But I do love the art, sometimes I’ll use it as inspiration for other things.  I painted an awesome phoenix on a shirt that was inspired by a tattoo design.
25. In the past week have you cried?  No, not this week.
26. What breed was the last dog you saw?  Saw my mom’s mini American Eskimo yesterday.
27. Do you dry off in the shower or out of the shower?  Both, I usually do top half in the shower, lower half out of the shower, then hair.
28. Have you ever kissed a football player?  Nope, but I had a crush on one once.
29. Do you think you’re old?  Nah, got awhile yet for that.
30. Do you like text messaging?  I like the ease of communication, but I hate typing out long messages.
31. What type of day are you having?  Eh.  Could have slept longer than I did.  Have to do both jobs today, that’s never fun.  But it’s payday, so there’s that.  Paying bills, woot.
32. Have you ever thought about getting your nose pierced?  Nope, I just have my ears pierced.
33. Do you prefer warm or cold weather? COLD ALL THE WAY, I’M A POLAR BEAR!
34. Is there a person of the opposite sex who means a lot to you?  There’s my hubby, and then all my male family members.
35. Would you prefer a relationship or a fling?  Relationship.
36. Are you a simple or complicated person?  I dunno, depends.  Which probably translates to complicated, but like... I have pretty simple basic needs, but the way I like to do things can be complicated.
37. What song are you listening to?  Hold music... yes, I’m on Tumblr while working... no, I don’t apologize for it.
38. When you say you’re sorry do you mean it?  I try really hard not to.  I like my apologies to be sincere.
39. Is there a girl that knows everything or almost everything about you?  I have a bestie that knows a lot, and also my sister, sister in law, and mom.
40. What made you start liking the person you like now?  I started dating my hubby because he was so cute and awkward and very funny.  He still is, he makes me laugh every day.
41. When did you last receive a text message?  Couple hours ago.
42. What is wrong with you right now?  I’m tired, I am the Grand Empress of Time Mismanagement, I have too much to do, I love food too much and hate exercise way too much, my sleeping schedule is way off, my self-control is on vacation somewhere, and I lost my motivation seeds.  I’m also a wee bit peckish.
43. How well do you know the last female you texted?  That’s my sister, so pretty well.
44. Does anyone disgust you?  Disgusting people do.
45. Would you date someone right now if they asked?  Nope, I’m taken.
46. Are you in a good mood right now?  I’m in an okay mood.
47. Who was the last person you talked to in person?  My hubby.
48. What color shirt are you wearing? Bright sky blue.
49. Has someone recently told you something you didn’t want to hear? Hubby told me it was time to wake up.  I whined at him.
50. Anyone you’re giving up on?  I did last year, then awhile after that they sucker punched me right in my heart, and I really don’t know what’s up with that anymore...  They scrambled to fix it right away, I needed time to recover, and haven’t heard anything since, so... yeah.
51. Do you hate the person you fell hardest for? Nope, I love him.
52. Have you ever thought about giving up on someone but couldn’t? Not yet.
53. Do you like rain?  I absolutely LOVE rain!
54. Do you care if your boyfriend/girlfriend drinks?  Yep, there’s no way drinking leads to good things.  We don’t drink.
55. Have you ever liked somebody and never told them?  Probably when I was a teenager.
56. Do you like to cuddle?  I do, yes.
57. Are you shy?  Not really, no.
58. Do you get along with girls?  Yep, I do.
59. Have you dated the person you texted last?  Yep, we dated for two years.
60. What do you carry with you at all times?  My phone.
61. If you were paid 1 million dollars to spend the night in a supposed haunted house, would you?  Sure, why not?  I don’t really believe in that kind of stuff, so it wouldn’t bother me.
62. Do you think you can last in a relationship for five months?  I’ve lasted in one for 13 years, so yeah, I can.
63. Think back to October, were you in a relationship?  Mmhmm.
64. The person you like kisses you on the forehead, do you find this cute?  Yes I do.
65. Did anything “cute” happen in the last week?  Lots of stuff, I’ve got a hubby and two cute girls.
66. How old are the last three people you kissed?  30, 9 and a half, and 3.

71. Blackberry, Android, or iPhone?  Android.
72. When’s the last time you had pizza from Pizza Hut?   Hmm, been awhile, I’m not sure.  Several months, probably.
73. Do you like diet soda?   Ick, no, I can’t handle the aftertaste.
74. What color are the walls in your room?  Off-white, very boring, I’d prefer something way more colorful.

Dark Exterior Farmhouse
It’s always wonderful to have Pike Properties LLC  (previously featured here) on Home Bunch. They are one of my favorite builders in Charlotte, NC and it’s easy to see why… just take a look at this newly-built modern farmhouse with dark exterior. Here, the builder share more details with us:
“Pike Properties was presented with a relatively flat lot with large dimensions, and therefore it was time to go about building something truly special. It isn’t uncommon for Pike to build a special home, but this home took everything to new heights and was full of new design ideas and concepts never before seen in Pike builds.
One important thing to note is that Pike Properties isn’t a custom builder. We are purely building homes on a speculative basis. We buy the dirt, design the home, bring it to life, and sell it to its new owners. That said, many features you find inside this home and others we have built are at our additional cost. Did we need copper gutters? No. Did we need a stacked stone wing wall? No. These are the extra sizzle features we add to our homes to make them stand out and live up to our high standards.
Welcome to the tour of this striking Modern Farmhouse build in Charlotte, North Carolina!”
Interior Design Ideas: Dark Exterior Farmhouse
This home is so very eye-catching. The contrasting colors and boldness of the overall design ensures that brake lights come on as cars drive by and that people stop and let their dog sniff just a bit longer. The overall design is actually just a slight tweak on this home: “Farmhouse-Style Home Inspired by Chip & Joanna Gaines“.
Tired of white, white, and more white, Pike Properties decided to take a slight risk and go dark with the main body paint color (Benjamin Moore Raccoon Fur). This color is very unique and actually can look more dark gray in some lights and more dark navy at other times. If you are looking to paint your home this color, definitely throw up some samples at different locations (shade and sun) to ensure you like the looks.
As briefly mentioned before, the gutters are genuine copper. It is an upgrade of around $2,500 over aluminum gutters, but WOW. They make such a statement against the dark facade that we knew we just had to splurge on them. Looking now, we don’t think the home would have felt “complete” without the copper.
CertainTeed Weathered Wood architectural shingles cover the roof, while a metal accent tops the window awning, a classic farmhouse feature.
Beautiful Porch Furniture Sets: here, here, here, here & here.
Shingles
To lighten the facade up a bit and to ensure a focal point of the design, we used cedar shake and a stacked stone wing wall to coat the gabled bump out. A window box adds a feeling of quaintness and homeliness. The shake, as well as cedar columns, a front door are all stained in Benjamin Moore Hidden Valley 50% formula (semi-transparent). The front decking/skirting is Hidden Valley full formula (solid).
Front Door
The front door is very inviting and is made from genuine Fir. We used a Schlage electronic keypad door lock with matching handle, found here. The ease of use and ability to not have to carry around a key is a great added benefit.
Rain Chains
Rain Chains are from Houzz.
Garage
From this angle you can see the detached carriage house as well as side entrance overhang with custom crafted bracket supports.
Living Room
As you walk into the home, you are greeted by this living space. Located at the front left corner of the home with plentiful windows facing east and south, the natural light is incredible. Access to the rear wrap around porch is granted via the glass door, adding to the farmhouse vibes. Your focal point in a living room tends to be the fireplace, and that is no different here. For the surround we went with a curved trim detail that supports the cedar mantle. The hearth is black granite. We always paint the inside of the firebox in a heat resistant black paint, as it is much more pleasing to the eye than leaving it tan. This fireplace wouldn’t be complete without the designer tile.

Kitchen
Taking some of our favorite elements from previous kitchen designs and blending them created the masterpiece that you see here. A Modern Farmhouse kitchen that possesses both Modern and Farmhouse ingredients and feels warm and welcoming, while sustaining that ever so slight feeling of exquisite luxury.
Navy cabinetry is trending big right now, and for good reason. We went with that trend and painted these custom cabinets in Benjamin Moore Lead Gray. Although the color refers to Gray, they are truly a gray/navy. This tone is perfect because it isn’t too deep or bright of a navy that would lend itself to be too casual or unsophisticated. These cabinets were custom made by a local Charlotte shop.
The 10′ center island anchors the kitchen and creates a natural gathering spot. It is topped off in a white Quartz that contrasts beautifully against the cabinetry. Speaking of contrasting, we feel that the brass accents in this space pull everything together so wonderfully.
The custom range hood really exemplifies both Modern and Farmhouse elements. Making it squared off with hard edges and no flare and or trimmed edges, it is a very modern statement piece. Add in the shiplap look and you have the epitome of a Modern Farmhouse range hood.
Counterstools- RH – Others: here, here, here, here & here.
Refrigerator
From this angle you can more thoroughly appreciate the great expanse of the island. In addition, to keep scale with the rest of the kitchen, we choose a jaw dropping 60″ French door refrigerator! It comes in two separate pieces, the fridge and freezer columns.
Appliances: Freezer, Refrigerator, Trim.
Sconces Flanking Hood: Savoy House.
Range Wall
This may just be one of the most beautiful tiles we have ever seen before! The striking intricacies and brass branding is truly special. We went with a simple marble tile for the main backsplash that is full height up the wall, and then for the picture frame accent we splurged big time for this amazing tile. It was quite worth the extra money!

Main Backsplash Tile- Jeffrey Court Wall Street White 3×9 – similar here.
Pot Filler- Delta Contemporary in Matte Black.

Faucet is Brizo Litze in Matte Black with Brilliance Luxe Gold.
Lighting
Pendants are Hudson Valley Blake in Aged Brass. Other Beautiful Lighting: here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here & here.
Kitchen Island
This angle of the kitchen is truly stunning. It shows off the open floorpan between kitchen, keeping room, and dining area. Windows galore offer loads of natural light. The space elicits warm and cozy feels, as a Modern Farmhouse should. This home is certainly perfect for those who love to entertain.
To the left of the apron front farm sink is a trash drawer with two built-in bins, a functional upgrade. With the press of a button, the Jenn-Air microwave drawer opens up and allows you to easily drop in whatever it is that needs heating up.
Hardware: Cabinet Hardware is all from the Emtek Alexander Collection in various sizes.
Kitchen Sink: Blanco Profina.
Dishwasher: Jenn-Air.
Dining Room
This dining space serves as the sole dining area in the home. It is the formal dining room, the breakfast room, and everything in between. Is the formal dining room going out of style? In many cases we tend to say yes. With that said, it was important to ensure that this room maintained elements of formal and informal design. The open concept ensures some informality, while a striking chandelier and stained ceiling trim detail keeps the formality in check. From a standpoint of being in this room in person, we would say the stained wood ceiling accent trim is what really sets this room apart and causes visitors jaws to drop. Take that away and it is a typical dining room. This is a prime example of our belief in going a little above and beyond the ordinary to create spaces that are truly extraordinary. This dining space is perfectly situated overlooking the backyard as well. Wow!

Flooring
We will dive into the Keeping Room next, but first we’d like to take a moment to talk about the wood flooring that spans throughout this home. The floors are 3.25″ White Oak site finished with an eco-friendly durable finish called Rubio Monocoat. The name of the finish is Havana.
Chandelier: Visual Comfort.
Keeping Room
A brief history. “Keeping rooms can be traced to 18th-century Colonial America, when most cooking was done around a home’s only fireplace. Since this was the warmest part of the house, family members were drawn to the kitchen; but to avoid being underfoot and annoying the chef, they gathered in the next closest area: the keeping room. It was typically furnished with a comfortable couch, where they could lounge and accomplish small tasks such as sewing or writing letters.” (Via Realtor.com)
With that history lesson under our belts, we feel like having a keeping room in this home further extends the coziness and livability of this home. While things aren’t like they used to be in many regards, people still have a tendency to gather in and around kitchens, so why not have a cozy spot for them to sit?
This ceiling is vaulted 20′ high and boasts exposed cedar beams, keeping things just a tad rustic. When faced with a tall, focal point wall there is almost no better choice than to cover it with shiplap, so we did just that! Something about having that trim and not just drywall enhances the coziness of the space. The second fireplace of the home is more informal with simpler trim and a black granite surround, versus tile. Keeping with the hint of modern found throughout this home is the Visual Comfort Ian Fowler Bistro Chandelier.

  Powder Room
This picture really and truly speaks for itself. This is the sole bathroom on the main floor and functions as the go to bath for visitors. Imagine your guests reaction when they walk into this? Many synonyms for “jaw-dropped” come to mind, no doubt.
What we have here is a floating cast concrete vanity that is mounted to the wall. It is a custom made piece but shockingly costs no more than an average Restoration Hardware vanity. With no base, your piping is exposed. Luckily they make champagne bronze pipes! The brass look against the black wall tile is simply unbeatable.
Paint- Benjamin Moore Moonshine.
Mirror- West Elm Antique Tiled Wall Mirror.
Faucet- Delta Dryden Widespread in Brillance Champagne Bronze.
Lights- Elk Bremington in Oil Rubbed Bronze/Aged Gold.
Tile- Soho Studio Hexagono Cuna Grafito Matte – similar here.
Stairway
When walking into this home, the stairway is one of the first things you see. That said, we wanted to ensure it made a great impression. This was our first time doing tile risers as well as our first time using metal railings. Well, it certainly won’t be our last. We love the look and think you will too!
Tile- Jeffrey Court Acquerello Palermo Field Tile – Others: here, here, here & here.
3rd Floor Bonus Room
It is a great added benefit to have this finished space on the 3rd level that would have otherwise been unfinished attic space collecting dust. It could be used for a variety of uses like a media room, billiard space, exercise room, etc. We even incorporated a built-in desk perfect for kids homework or a crafting table.
Paint- Benjamin Moore Dove Wing.
Stair Fixture- Kichler Rocklyn
 Pike Properties Built-in Bunks
Are the kids having a sleepover? Well, we’ve got you covered. These built-in bunks are not only functional but also stylish. Carrying in a nautical theme makes them feel like ship bunks.
Fun fact: Inside that small door to the right is a kids play nook with lowered ceilings!
Lights- Hinkley Mercer in Heritage Brass.
Guest Bathroom
This bathroom is great for kids. It is connected to a secondary bedroom as well as the hallway to service a bedroom across the hall. Plenty of countertop space and drawer storage abounds. Carrying the hardwoods into the bathroom is a great look, especially given the white furniture vanity.
Paint- Benjamin Moore Moonshine.
Vanity- London 72″ Vanity from Houzz – also here.
Faucets- Delta Ashlyn 8″ Widespread in Chrome.
Lights- Kichler Braelyn in Chrome.
Neutral Bathroom
An en-suite bath, this is the private bathroom to one of the secondary bedrooms. One of our favorite elements is the basket weave tile in black and white. It has a 3D look to it in person, and takes you back to earlier, simpler times.
Paint- Benjamin Moore Moonshine.
Floor tile- MosaicArt Epic Basketweave Matte from Florida Tile – similar here.
Shower wall tile- Dorian Streamline 3×6 Arctic White from Florida Tile – here.

Mirrors: 45.5-in L x 33.5-in W White Beveled Wall Mirror.

Master Bedroom
A relaxing oasis was created with the use of neutrals and earth tones. This room features abundant sunlight throughout most of the day, and is just the perfect spot for an afternoon recharge. The diagonal shiplap accentuates the recessed bed wall. If the shiplap isn’t enough, we also put V-groove on the tray ceiling inset!
Paint- Benjamin Moore Halo.

This is the home of absolutely gorgeous bathroom vanities it so seems! What a great way to start your day each morning. Get out of bed and splash some water in your face in front of this beautiful accent wall.
With this bathroom overall, we went with a more so coastal theme. The blues and whites abound. It is truly causal elegance at its finest.
With such pretty tile, we wanted to hide the least of it possible with mirrors. That led us to these beautiful and unique round mirror that hang with leather straps. It’s also a bit nautical which was fitting.
Vanity- London 72″ in Grey from Houzz – Others: here, here, here, here, here, here, here & here.
Faucets- Delta Trinsic 8″ Widespread in Matte Black.
Mirrors- West Elm Modern Hanging Mirror.
Tile- MSI Surfaces Tamensa Porcelain.
Sconces- Hinkley Morgan.
Tub Nook
Feel like a king or queen in this rectangular freestanding tub raised on an elevated platform. Doing a small raised platform where the tub sits helps to define the space. The tub goes from feeling inside the bathroom, to having its own defined space that feels separated. Stylish cedar floating shelves are perfect for candles and towels. Romantic evening, anyone?
Paint- Benjamin Moore Halo.
Tub- Mirabelle Hibiscus 66″.
Faucet- Delta Trinsic in Brillance Champagne Bronze.
Chandelier- Hinkley Astrid in Metallic Matte Bronze.
Shower
Carrying the coastal theme onward, we went with this bold and beautiful baby blue tile for the master shower. Adding the brass banding and brass hardware really compliments the look. To not overwhelm the eyes, we went with white/grey tile on the floor. This shower has the rain head as well as a wall mounted head that is not seen in this photo.
Don’t miss the peek of the owner’s bedroom.

Mudroom
Heading inside from the detached carriage house via the side porch entrance you are welcomed by this space. Have muddy shoes? Is it pouring rain? Whatever the case, these floors are meant for handling anything. Durable brick tile from Jeffrey Court ensures that you don’t ruin your floors and allows for easy cleanup of messes. On top of that, it is simply stylish, especially when laid in this herringbone pattern. In all honesty, having a brick floor in a mudroom just feels right!
Hooks and cubbies and a built-in bench add all the functionality you expect from a drop zone. We didn’t have to add the shiplap backing but we figured, why not!?

Computer Cove
Everyone needs a spot where the junk and extra stuff can be hidden away. Everyone needs a room where they can retreat to in order to get things done. This computer cove, or small home office space is just what the doctor ordered. Located off the back hallway through a pocket door, is this handy room. Plenty of built-in cabinet space for extra storage and granite countertop space for accomplishing work.
Cabinet Color- Benjamin Moore Gray Owl.
Light- Feiss Waveform Mini Pendant x3 with ceiling mount.
Built-In Dog Station
One of our favorite sizzle features to add into our homes is what you see here! It is relatively cheap ($500-$750) and is such a cool WOW factor and talking point. It is a ledge that is framed and trimmed out and topped in granite with stainless steel bowls set in. Tile lines the walls to prevent water as your dog splashes with their tongue from messing up your wall. A pot filler makes it super simple to refill. How cool is that!?
Pot Filler- Danze Opulence.
Rear Porch
A Modern Farmhouse wouldn’t be complete without an expansive covered rear porch. With access from the keeping room and dining/living space it is easy to take a step out and enjoy the amazing North Carolina weather. With room enough for dining and sitting, there is no limits with what you can do with this space. It overlooks the flat rear yard which is very large for an in-town location!

Accent Tile- Soho Studio Empress Helena – Others: here, here, here & here.
Main Backsplash Tile- Jeffrey Court Wall Street White 3×9 – similar here.
Pot Filler- Delta Contemporary in Matte Black.
