Of course, you will be overloaded with special local gifts for your loved ones back at home. With every additional item, the space to accommodate increases, and so does your baggage! And with that excess luggage of overcoats or special woollens or just fancy gifts, one is pushed to think about the options of opting for excess baggage allowance with either the airlines directly or an excess baggage relocation company that offers you the service without you getting involved and spoiling your return journey over the entire planning of transfer.

Emirates airlines are pretty reasonable when it comes to the carry-on baggage allowance, while in the case of standard/checked baggage allowance, it majorly depends on your travel class, fare type, the destination you are flying to, and what type of Emirates Skywards membership you have.
Checked Baggage allowance and fees
All Emirates Airlines allow some amount of checked luggage at no additional cost, which is based on either the total weight of your luggage or pieces of luggage you have. This concept is called the weight/piece concept where the weight concept applies to most of the routes while the piece concept applies on flights to and from the Americas and originating from Africa.

Please Note: Weight concept is applicable if your trip from Australia, New Zealand, Asia, or the Americas includes a layover in Dubai for more than 24 hours or in Europe or Africa.
Please Note: 25 kg and 30 kg in Economy Special for flights between UAE and India and Economy Saver for journeys commencing in Australia and New Zealand on tickets booked on/after November 26th, 2019, respectively.
