One of the more surprising August 2024 releases is a new Technic sailing set, 42174 Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht which lets fans re-create a detailed Technic model of the AC75 Yacht, the reigning holder of the Americas Cup. 

The Americas Cup is the oldest international sports competition and one of the most historing sailing competitions in the world, so it’s a really cool niche for LEGO to explore. Plus, always happy to see a New Zealand sports team being represented in LEGO!

This 962-piece Technic set will be released on 1 August 2024 and features pneumatic functions to control the hydrofoil arms, as well as a large wing sail with authentic sponsors and branding.

The set is specifically of Taihoro with the hull and sails already in ETNZ livery. Fans of other teams and people who want to build replicas of the entire AC-75 fleet in the same amount of detail will probably have to look for third-party customization options on LEGO fansites.
