“Envisioning how the brain looks while one is dreaming fascinates Helmstedt, and it’s what the designer has mimicked in her colourful, eccentric prints appearing on relaxed knit sets and dresses. “I just Googled brains, like really many brains and looked up medical books,” Helmstedt tells Vogue Scandinavia. When a clear vision of the print was achieved, it was drawn and hand-painted to life. The final version was then digitalised and placed into woven fabrics. This season, Helmstedt has also used the crochet technique for the first time.”

He had a “charming persona” that covered up the terrible things he did to people, describes Callingbull. The abuse started soon after the move. Her mother didn’t know about it because he threatened to kill Callingbull, or her mother, if she said anything. He told her that nobody would ever love or appreciate her (“anything to break me”), and she believed it. It would be five years before she and her mother escaped. Callingbull was 10 years old when she had to testify in court; for the first time, she was forced to go into detail about what had happened to her. She remembers hearing her abuser and his family laughing while she testified; when she got off the stand, humiliated, she told herself that she would never speak out again. She felt a pull to numb the pain with drugs and alcohol, but her kokum, Charlotte Callingbull, who had also been abused, urged her granddaughter to stay on the “red road” rather than put toxins in her body. 21 Pretty & Protective Face Masks You Can Buy Right Now
Though previous government advice on the use of face masks has left many confused, the UK public is now being asked to wear face coverings in some public places. In a new COVID-19 strategy document, the government suggests that face coverings should be worn in enclosed spaces where two-metre social distancing is not possible, which includes public transport and some small shops. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that you now need to source medical-grade PPE. The guidelines encourage the use of simple fabric face masks, stating that "cloth face-coverings can help reduce the risk of transmission in some circumstances". Emphasising that handmade masks are useful in protecting others if you are asymptomatic, covering our faces now seems an essential step in preventing the spread of COVID-19. With more and more people discovering how to create their own cloth masks at home, the internet is now full of fabric options for us to get our hands on. From fancy florals to tie-dye creations, patterned face masks will help stop the spread of the virus and look cute. So with that in mind, we decided to round up the prettiest fabric face masks that the internet has to offer. Click ahead to find 21 face masks you can buy online right now.

Inside her new @helmstedt_ atelier, Emilie Helmsted (@online_mis) has built a gorgeous microcosm that reflects the colorful inner workings of her brain: papier-mâché boxes and globes strewn about, waves painted on cardboard cutouts leaning against the walls, DIY fish toys on top of shelves, and her clothes, her candy-like, whimsical clothes, all held up by hangers that Helmstedt constructed and painted herself. “I wanted to create a space where abstract thoughts and illusions are allowed to just be,” she says. Like clockwork every season, I look to Copenhagen Fashion Week...
Like clockwork every season, I look to Copenhagen Fashion Week as a bellwether for trends both on and off the runway. The Danish capital gets the benefit of preceding the fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan, and Paris and thereby offers an enticing first glimpse at what’s to come. Plus, the mix of brilliant designers (both up-and-coming like Helmstedt and cult-status like Ganni ) and impossibly stylish attendees make it an event to circle on your calendar in thick red pen every season. So when Copenhagen Fashion Week invited me to see the action up close, I jumped at the chance.
I’ll be covering every noteworthy moment from the week on Who What Wear as well as on my Instagram (including backstage action—stay tuned). First up, of course, is the amazing street style. Scandinavian girls like Annabel Rosendahl and Emili Sindlev join women from all corners of the globe in Copenhagen and didn’t skimp on their outfits in the least bit. Scroll down to see my favorite Copenhagen Fashion Week street style outfits from The Style Stalker.

Copenhagen Fashion Brand Helmstedt Spreads Joy – WWD
https://pmcwwd.files.wordpress.com/2020/08/helmstedt.jpg?w=640&h=415&crop=1
Emilie Helmstedt is among the designers helping establish Copenhagen as a new sportswear capital. Her brand Helmstedt, this year anointed a LVMH Prize semifinalist, has made its mark with easy, soft clothes spun of cheerful prints that she paints by hand.
It’s this optimism that has lured shoppers seeking joy and comfortable clothes while locked down during the coronavirus crisis. Although many of the brand’s wholesale partners cancelled spring orders, Helmstedt says that her popularity on social media helped compensate for losses. Helmstedt’s e-commerce site exceeded four times its original sales projections during this period — helping the brand grow its sales overall, with most of its orders shipping to the U.S.
In the months leading up to Copenhangen Fashion Week, which kicks off this weekend, Helmstedt was faced with a new-world challenge: Erring on the side of caution in light of economic uncertainty while also offering fresh designs.
On Aug. 12 she will unveil a new collection titled “Emotions.” Taking a step back from recent, more elaborate runway presentations, Helmstedt will show a smaller collection of more commercial designs, still featuring her painterly prints. Her new pieces will be showcased outside in Copenhagen’s Kogens Nytorv, or King’s New Square, alongside a large sculpture installation that will travel throughout the Danish capital in the weeks thereafter. The sculpture — a series of abstract hearts — was produced by Helmstedt and her sister in their Christiania district workshop.
“I had a difficult time designing while all of this was going on. I felt like I needed to somehow to give a message with this collection, I had more thoughts going on, so the collection is about trying to stay present in the feelings we are all sharing and coming together based on our [mutual] feelings,” Helmstedt said.
She made some adjustments to the collection, which is, “very bright and pastel. Because of the virus, I tried to make a smaller collection. I don’t have added showpieces and stuff like that and I went in a more commercial direction for the styles. I’m scared for the virus and it’s important to have easy things to wear,” the designer said.
Helmstedt’s fairy tale-inspired debut collection in 2018. Sarah Stenfeldt Hansen
While Copenhagen Fashion Week will suffer a blow in attendance this season due to ongoing travel restrictions and collective anxiety, Helmstedt recognizes the power of imagery. She has reallocated some of her typical show budget towards shooting photos of the new collection for digital use to be used throughout the season.
Her new collection will be revealed on the heels of the designer’s popular “Staycation” summer capsule collection — a series of bikinis, sun hats and bike shorts, all printed with watercolor strawberry print that largely sold out within weeks. While Helmstedt’s typical designs range from $350 to $900, the Staycation line was priced much lower, from $95 to $145.
“We made the Staycation collection to offer a holiday feeling for people feeling stuck. So it was a holiday vibe even if they were in their living room. We priced it more affordably than I usually do, because of the coronavirus we tried to get down on the price,” she said. While the designer staged a Staycation pop-up in Tisvilde, or Denmark’s version of the Hamptons, she says that most of the collection’s sales came from the U.S.
Helmstedt herself has never been to the U.S., and is confounded by her popularity there. “I have never been there, it’s so weird. I think see many people in the U.S. are not afraid of colors – they like things to be bright and fun,” she said.
As such, the designer will now invest more funds in her e-commerce site, which was created on a whim via Shopify when her brand first started in 2018. She will also work on shipping logistics strategies to ensure easier delivery to the U.S. market.
“My goal is not to drop into a huge project — I want to make a stable business where we have a nice web flow, internal and external communications, good stock and all things. We are not jumping into something big, we will be working on what we have,” she said.
The brand currently has around 25 stockists worldwide, including just one in the U.S., that being Moda Operandi. In late September, Helmstedt will kick off a partnership with Browns in the U.K. on a capsule of homewear items – pajama sets, robes, silk turbans, lingerie and area rugs. “It all plays to the world situation right now of having something to wear at home,” Helmstedt said.

Another reference about Article and designers thought for making mask and what for.
Wearing a Mask is necessary in these days and all the people wearing a mask before going outside and prepared loads of mask to wear for another days cause nobody couldn’t predict COVID-19 gonna finished, At the fashion industry present various mask their own brand label colour that means fashion industry staring to make mask carrying out the accessory section.

we lose our ability to communicate through smiles and visual cues with most of our face covered up, we have to come up with alternative ways of making a first impression. Trendy Trend Report: Scandinavian Fashion Weeks SS19
Fashion weeks in Scandinavia are increasingly improving, both in terms of the organisations themselves and the designers on display. This year, we saw a few powerhouses break through from domestic success to the international level. In particular, Danish brand Ganni is leading the charge into the US market. It will be interesting to see how this continues, and what other brands cross the water, in the coming seasons.
On both the runways and on the streets, we saw more color than ever before throughout the Scandinavian fashion weeks. Though the runways were overloaded with yellows (more on that below), there was orange, bright green, purple, and hot pink as well. It was a fun, festive series of fashion weeks and maybe, just maybe, the colors will stick around for the winter season as well.
There are the trends we saw on the runways of Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo fashion weeks for SS19:
Gender Fluidity
At its core, minimalist dressing cuts away all the unnecessary extras and becomes entirely unisex. It’s no surprise, then, that there are quite a few Scandinavian designers who have taken that core – clothing is simply about being clothed, free from the gender-binary – and explored it in a variety of interesting, artistic ways.
Stockholm Fashion Week presented the most interesting and poetic take, with brands Lazochmidl and Emilie Jarnell highlighting how adornment is not just for femme dressing, and Busnel highlighting the androgyny in clean lines.
At Copenhagen Fashion Week, both brands Heliot Emil and Han Kjøbenhavn envision a futuristic world in which all of us wear the same spandex and bondage-style holsters. We particularly loved Han Kjøbenhavn’s use of transparent floral print.
Norwegian brand O-F-C (Office for Form and Contexture) took tailoring to new levels of weird and wonderful, while maintaining a level of sleek minimalism that made the pieces wearable. This is office-wear for the avant garde and we are here for it.
– Emelie Jarnell – – Busnel – – Han Kjøbenhavn – – O-F-C –
Creamy Yellow
Color was big this season, but no color was quite as pervasive as yellow. Though a range of shades were represented, creamy rather than bright yellows seemed to dominate. At Copenhagen Fashion Week, we saw Blanche, Baum und Pferdgarden, Holzweiler, Morten Ussing, Martin Asbjørn, Lærke Andersen, and Stine Goya and present their take on the color.
– Blanche – – Baum und Pferdgarten – – Holzweiler – – Morten Ussing – – Martin Asbjørn Yellow – – Stine Goya –
At Oslo Runway, ByTimo and Camilla Thulin both highlighted yellow in ultra-feminine silhouettes. During Stockholm Fashion Week, Ida Sjöstedt went dreamy creamy, STAND had the whole spectrum of yellow (sometimes in one outfit!) while the always-exciting Naim Josefi kept it bright and cheerful with near-neons.
– Camilla Thulin – – Ida Sjostedt – – STAND – – Naim Josefi –
90s Are Still With Us
Oh, did you think the 90s revival was over? You couldn’t be more wrong! Ganni led the pack at Copenhagen Fashion Week this season with an entirely 90s-inspired collection, including tie-dye, droopy backpacks, and red-laced hiking boots that are set to be THE shoe of the winter (so functional!). Other CPHFW 90s moments included the Dawson’s Creek-style short-sleeved button-down open over tee-shirt look at Martin Asbjørn and the full-on Cher Horowitz moment at Résumé.
– Ganni – – Ganni – – Resume – – Martin Asbjørn –
At Olso Runway, designer darling Michael Olestad gave his 90s inspiration a contemporary update, particularly with a runched, beautifully-draped slip dresse over a white tee-shirt. At Stockholm Fashion Week, NAND brought out snake skin print, which we can expect to see a lot more in terms of accessories, and paired an oversized blazer with bike shorts.
– Michael Olestad – – NAND –
Special Note to Bucket Hats
Time to stop it with the bucket hats, people. They look good on literally no one! Runway shows that were doing the most this season included Danish Blanche and Ganni, Swedish Ida Klamborn, and Norwegian HAIKw/.
– Blanche – – Ida Klamborn –
Three Exciting Things We Saw
It’s rare we see a piece of clothing that’s really different, but the Karine Næss Quilted Mini Skirts were fun, not exactly functional, and had nods to both mod and workwear dressing.
It was so refreshing to see Emilie Helmstedt’s DIY presentation, which featured her silky, quirky clothes against a backdrop of hand-made fabric fish and set pieces straight out of a high-school performance of “The Little Mermaid.” It was cool, charming, and unpretentious.
Perhaps the most breathtaking runway show of the season was Selam Fessahaye at Stockholm Fashion Week. She says her inspiration for this collection was “getting shit done,” and well, she did it. The surrealist level of the colors and cuts had us wanting more.
