i love Noxus as a region because it's one of the most well-done things riot has done with their universe. this is a nation that was born under the command of a ruthless man and so it learned to be just as ruthless to survive. it values strength yes, but also bravery and loyalty. noxus is always hungry because it grew up starving and this reflects so well in the narrative that was built and the characters that live there. take leblanc for example, she is objectively a terrible person—she is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve her goals. why she does it? because she is scared that same ruthless evil man comes back, because she was under his command; because she knows him. so she wears the evil he left behind. take riven, a character that was molded for war and excelled at it, who never thought about why she did things and simply did them because she's never known anything beyond it. yet she repents, she learns, she grieves, and learns her hands can do things beyond killing. from darius to briar, from cassiopeia to talon, there is such a rich story being told about dominance and censorship and betrayal, but also resistance and brotherhood and vulnerability. i really hope arcane (or its next counterpart) tackles this aspect in the future

Omg the situation in-game when you line-up LeBlanc and Swain’s voicelines and how they actually interact now is kinda hilarious.

She absolutely hates Swain’s guts and is seething the moment she sees him.

Meanwhile Swain is just happy for her attention.

Leblanc continues to seethe and be passive aggressive around him.

Meanwhile Swain is unbothered, continuing to flirt with her all through it.

And of course the infamous line that they’re “enemies with benefits”

Which btw, considering how infamous it is, I’m surprise Riot didn’t include a SPECIFIC response to this line, but unfortunately budget of an indie company /s

However her generic taunt response of tossing him into a pit for his horny also works lol.

Some may have wanted LeBlanc to flirt back, but honestly, this whole dynamic is actually much funnier and interesting to me.

Aside from Mordekaiser (for understandable reasons), Swain is the ONLY other person who causes LeBlanc to raise her voice and exhibit more emotion. While she rages and seethes, Swain is talking to her completely normally, even with affection.

There’s also the larger contrast between the two, where LeBlanc obviously doesn’t trust ANYONE except herself and is very defensive as a result. Meanwhile Swain actually once had to depend on other people and does have true friends, people he trusts (Darius, Draven, Katarina) and fostered true bonds and loyalty with. I’ll get into that discussion at a later date.

It is very funny that Leblanc seems to done very little lying in arc 3 of arcane. She was truthful about Ambessa's role in the calamity, how she was blinded by her pride's results, how Ambessa held no regard for Mel's choices or desires. She tried to take advantage of Ambessa's weakness at the end of the fight, but that is just standard magic conspiracy stuff, and she isnt even that mad at Mel for stopping her. For a character known as the deceiver, I'm pretty sure Maddie did more lying than she did in Act 3

Thinking about Omega!Vladimir & Alpha!LeBlanc in which Vlad is a tall and very affectioned omega who just loves his alpha so much.

Ω!Vlad who loves being scented by LeBlanc and is just so clingy and horny during heats he won't let α!LeBlanc off the nest.

And since they are immortal beings they've been having pups (baby bats are called pups) for a while.

Almost all the members of the Crimson Circle are their offspring, but since they rule like meerkat society only Vlad & LeBlanc can have pups.

Ω!Vlad is a very doting omega, always catering for the needs of his children and being overall a great caretaker. His current looking after Briar - his youngest troublemaker - whom Vlad has grown quite found of, much to the dismay of his older kids.

α!LeBlanc on the other hand is a more hands free type of parenting - which means she'll go back to her Black Rose shenanigans as soon as the pups have stop weaning and not talk to any of them unless Vlad raises hell about her not spending time with the kids.

The respect she gets from each kid varies greatly, some respect her only be ause she's their sire, others want to join the Rose seeking their alpha's recognition, the ones who do not care at all, and the nursery age kids who just want to cuddle the alpha because insticts and what not.

What do you even call the moment that the updated visual of a character visually resembles the original look of their enemy/lover/enemy-with-benefits before their SO got visually updated?

Have we gone full circle? Has having this ship teased for TEN YEARS warped my eyes and brain?!

The last time LeBlanc has dark green in her outfit was when she took some of the dark green feathers off Tyrant Swain’s raven form for her Ravenborn skin (and yes they’re dark green since you can see they are different from her black collar, it’s not a lighting effect).

God I need to see Fortiche’s render of Swain too now. How is such a major character not in ANY major CG animation since his rework! AND NOT IN TEASER LITERALLY CALLED WELCOME TO NOXUS!
