i love Noxus as a region because it's one of the most well-done things riot has done with their universe. this is a nation that was born under the command of a ruthless man and so it learned to be just as ruthless to survive. it values strength yes, but also bravery and loyalty. noxus is always hungry because it grew up starving and this reflects so well in the narrative that was built and the characters that live there. take leblanc for example, she is objectively a terrible person—she is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve her goals. why she does it? because she is scared that same ruthless evil man comes back, because she was under his command; because she knows him. so she wears the evil he left behind. take riven, a character that was molded for war and excelled at it, who never thought about why she did things and simply did them because she's never known anything beyond it. yet she repents, she learns, she grieves, and learns her hands can do things beyond killing. from darius to briar, from cassiopeia to talon, there is such a rich story being told about dominance and censorship and betrayal, but also resistance and brotherhood and vulnerability. i really hope arcane (or its next counterpart) tackles this aspect in the future

What do you even call the moment that the updated visual of a character visually resembles the original look of their enemy/lover/enemy-with-benefits before their SO got visually updated?

Have we gone full circle? Has having this ship teased for TEN YEARS warped my eyes and brain?!

The last time LeBlanc has dark green in her outfit was when she took some of the dark green feathers off Tyrant Swain’s raven form for her Ravenborn skin (and yes they’re dark green since you can see they are different from her black collar, it’s not a lighting effect).

God I need to see Fortiche’s render of Swain too now. How is such a major character not in ANY major CG animation since his rework! AND NOT IN TEASER LITERALLY CALLED WELCOME TO NOXUS!

She has tried to kill him before, and her efforts will not remain paltry forever. In the far distance, a raven caws.

Brinnin Granth's corpse reeks of an attempted resuscitation. The Grand General takes the first step to break an unstable truce.

It is very funny that Leblanc seems to done very little lying in arc 3 of arcane. She was truthful about Ambessa's role in the calamity, how she was blinded by her pride's results, how Ambessa held no regard for Mel's choices or desires. She tried to take advantage of Ambessa's weakness at the end of the fight, but that is just standard magic conspiracy stuff, and she isnt even that mad at Mel for stopping her. For a character known as the deceiver, I'm pretty sure Maddie did more lying than she did in Act 3

Some thoughts regarding the Katarina comic...

I just had a random shower thought (™).

In the third issue of the Katarina comic, it is stated that Katarina was not only sent to kill Jarvan the Third but also Lux.

That fact seemed weird to me. Sure, Lux is from a noble family and a powerful mage, but she is not really a threat to anyone. She doesn’t have real political power.

Until I realized something: this was literally a few hours before her betrothal to the crown prince would have been announced to the public, which would have made her to important political figure in Demacia.

To be honest, I don’t really believe that Marcus DuCouteau is actually alive but instead it is a  LeBlanc clone. With two members of the DuCouteau family belonging to the Black Rose, LeBlanc would have all the knowledge how to use Katarina’s daddy issues to do all the dirty work.

So let’s spin this thought further. Why would LeBlanc want to remove the potential bride of the crown prince?

That is pretty obvious - they could replace the true Lux with another clone, which would marry Jarvan IV instead.

And with Jarvan the Third out of the window, the crown prince would be king as well.

With a Black Rose spy inside the royal family, the Black Rose could either easily influence the inexperienced Jarvan IV in their favor or kill him to replace him with another clone. (The old Jarvan IV is actually LeBlanc theory says hello.)

Instead, Katarina spared Lux and that action resolved in the mage revolution, which suddenly put a few more board pieces in the political landscape which LeBlanc couldn’t have anticipated.

None needed to know what had happened inside those walls, the Chains & all regalia would disappear in the blink of an eye once she hit the floor~!

Awww, but...Where was the fun on that? Not matter how wonderful & quick all could be. When someone had dealed with a prey for so long, it was only fair to have a little fun & take her time. Surely, wrapping her in chains was still an option, but some couple of things could also be done before her demise. Knowing all that was hiding inside her brain & even a little beyond. Mind breaking was a favored game, first than any bone breaking~ ♥

———Her Blood & Despair would also surely be tasteful; she wouldn’t even let the local cleaner have a crime to be blamed for.

Ambessa was her toy to play once she got her hands on her. She has won such privilege with all this mouse & cat chase. LeBlanc could play a patient feline if she so wanted~ ♥

A little too unhinged to ponder... was it for real an intrusive thought all of it? This fantasy would only cause the Matron to giggle playfully at the end: If she had to kill her quickly she surely would; but ah~ if only Emilia could allow herself more time to show the Black Rose’s true hospitality—— ♥
