"excuse me?" you ask. an alliance? with your biggest competitor? this was something that you did not expect at all. you noticed it had caught heeseung off guard as well when he loosened the tie around his neck, a small puff of air leaving his lips. it seemed as if his lungs had suddenly run out of air.
"think about it," the man continued. "you both do almost the same thing; therefore, converting you two into competitors. yet, the potential in both companies is so much that you could gain way more as an alliance. we want to invest in both companies at the same time, but we can't do that with your families going for each other's necks."
he was right. there could be so much more profit if you worked together, but the feud between both families would not allow such a proposal to ever happen. "ee will leave you to discuss, but we expect an answer by tomorrow morning."
and just like that, the group of people you had been trying to win over for the past two weeks walked out—just like that. you let out a groan of frustration, letting yourself fall into one of the chairs. all that hard work, done for them to try to get you to work with lee heeseung.
and it was then you noticed this burning feeling in your chest. It only appeared when heeseung was in your field of vision—that spark again that only lit up when you were around him.
-
a few hours had passed since the meeting was over. the two of you sat there in silence, not knowing what to do or say. the weight of the whole world was on both of your shoulders. heeseung had contacted his mother about the situation, and all she said was that it was his decision after all—not helpful at all.
on the other hand, you hesitated to call your father, especially with heeseung in the same room. but you knew you had to. you could have easily gone out of the room for a while, but for some reason, you stayed put.
if the air had been awkward between you two, it had become suffocating after that awful phone call. you had been called things that heeseung definitely heard. he was glad his mother at least didn't care much about situations like this. if they didn't bother her directly, then there was no point in worrying at all.
heeseung wanted to talk to you. he really did. but what was he supposed to do? say, "hey, bro, you'll be fine"? he just sat there in silence, accompaniying you as he lost himself in his own thoughts.
-
the clock struck 11:03 p.m., and you two were still there, sitting in silence. heeseung was sighing and yawning more frequently, indicating that he was starting to feel tired. you, on the other hand, had fallen asleep a long time ago. your head rested in your arms on top of the table. preparing the presentations and speeches had been tough on you, and you had finally been able to catch a little break.
when heeseung laid eyes on you, he could've sworn his heart skipped a beat. and then it started burning. his eyes were staring at you with admiration, but his mind said it was hatred.
still, he took off the blazer that matched his dressing pants and put it over your shoulders. he wasn't going as far as waking you up, but that should be enough, right?
the spark had followed him all the way home, when it used to fade as soon as you were gone.

hi again, I saw that your request box is empty and I wanted to try once more if its okay with you! thank you for giving me that beautiful sunghoon chapter 🥺💙 I was wondering if you could do: rose + seunghun (cix) or whipped + heeseung (enhypen) for the blurb game? You can choose whichever you have the most inspiration to write atm, ty again and stay safe 💙
Okay that is very sweet I mayhaps blushed fjfjfj 👉👈 also I don't know how to reply to compliments but me being mushy and soft and giggly and grateful in response can be an answer hehehe ✨✨ and I decided to a Heeseung one bcs even though there is like only one cix writing from me, when I read the request my mind immediately came up with this so I had to write it. Thank you for requesting again and just to let you know, you can request as many times you want and I'll do my best to deliver 🌼🌼
"Admit it.. you've got it bad", Sunghoon sat next to you and immediately busied himself with his phone."Just because I have a little crush on Heeseung, doesn't mean I'm 'whipped'", you put air quotations on the last word. Before Sunghoon could argue with you, a crestfallen Heeseung and an elated Ni-ki entered the room and sat around the table you both were occupying.
"What happened?", Sunghoon asked the two boys who were sitting opposite him and you. "Hyung lost the bet and now has to do tonight's dishes", Ni-ki cheers and Heeseung sighs dramatically and buries his head in his arms that were resting on the table. You didn't know what came over you but before you could stop yourself, the words tumbled from your mouth. "Don't worry, Heeseung. I'll help you with the dishes", you pat his head and as if your hand had a mind of it's own, ran your fingers through his soft hair before you could stop yourself.
Realising what you were doing, you cleared your throat and immediately sat back, face red. Heeseung however, wore the brightest smile you had ever seen in a while. "You'd do that for me?" You nod at his words, mind fuzzy and heart doing stupid crazy cartwheels. "Of course, I'd do anything for you" once again as your mind registered what you said, you wanted nothing more than to jump off from the roof. You could feel Sunghoon stifling his laugh behind his hand while Ni-ki looked confused but you were sure his brain wheels were whirring.
Three hours later you found yourself in the kitchen alone with Heeseung, helping him with the dishes. For 8 people there was a shit ton of dishes that had to be washed and dried. Sunghoon's words echoed in your brain, when Heeseung had left the room. Yeah... you're whipped. "Oh my God, I'm whipped", you murmured as it finally dawned on you that Sunghoon was indeed right about you.
"You're what?" Heeseung's voice made you jump, the glass in your hand slipping and shattering into a million pieces. "Shit..", you bent and started to pick up the bigger pieces. "Wait! careful with them!", Heeseung exclaimed as he too crouched with a kitchen towel in his hand. "I don't want you getting a cut or anything", his voice was low. He took the piece you were holding and began to pick up the other pieces. You looked up at him, not much distance between the both of you. He felt eyes on him and lifted his head, both of your eyes meeting. Trapped in his gaze, you didn't see the edge of broken glass that you were picking as it came in contact with your skin. A small yelp escaped your lips, your eyes breaking contact and falling on to your finger that had started to bleed. It wasn't serious but Heeseung put the towel aside and grabbed your hand, lifting you up and placing your finger right under the faucet he had turned on.
You let out a giggle at a thought that occurred. It was something you did during awkward situations and you hated it. "What's so funny?" Heeseung asked as he wrapped a band aid around your finger. By now you were having silent fits of laughter no matter how hard you tried to contain them. You shook your head at his question. "Just thought of something Sunghoon would say if he saw this", you gestured at your finger. At the mention of Sunghoon, Heeseung's smile dropped. "You two..is there something going around between you guys?", He stuttered over his words.
"Of course not. On the contrary, he would be annoying me with whatever happened right now", you giggled. You were sure the brownies Jay made had something in it for you to be laughing at a situation like this. "I'm sorry... I'm lost right now", Heeseung said. The poor boy did look completely lost right now. "Oh my god...Heeseung, Sunghoon would be pestering me about me being whipped for you", you exclaim.
Once again, your mouth spoke before your brain could even process what words you were spitting out of your mouth. "Wait..did I just say that? What I mean is.. he would be pestering me about..you know...", You failed to come up with anything and save yourself. ..."that you're whipped for me?", Heeseung asked. He was smiling brightly, his eyes crinkling with happiness. "Yeah, that..", you admit defeat.
Heeseung tried to wipe off the smile he had on his face but his attempts were futile and instead he looked more adorable in your eyes.
"The smile on your face...should I think of it as a good sign?", you ask the tall boy. He nodded in return as he put the last of the dishes away to dry.
"Definitely"
