I didn’t know Fried Camembert was a thing until a French pal mentioned it to me weeks ago. She didn’t elaborate on how to make it but I found a recipe online but with Raspberry sauce. I don’t have Raspberry here (or Redcurrant on some recipes), only a half-bottle of Strawberry jam that I bought from Baguio. I’m not fond of sesames so I just scrap the recipe and simply deep-fried it.
Turns out, these were the best shit that I’ve ever tasted since my Galletes
You need to slice the Camembert into thin wedges (my sis suggested to make it in sticks but I refused), dip it in to the egg then coat it with crumbs. You can double-coat it by dipping it again to the egg and roll it in to the crumbs to have a crispy texture. Also, don’t remove the rind.
No need to use a thermometer to determine the oil’s hotness. As long as you determine that the oil was hot enough, you can just toss the Camembert like you do with french fries until they’re golden brown.
These are way tastier and cheesier than Mozzarella sticks. 10/10 will make these again.
