I thought it looked promising! But I'm cautiously optimistic... Live-action adaptations of something like One Piece can go wrong veeery easily.

That’s very similar to how I feel! You can tell the cast and crew have a love for the source material which is always really important when taking on adaptations like this, and the appeal of One Piece for me has always been more about worldbuilding and story/character development (as opposed to fights or cool effects) and those are aspects that can easily cross over to a live action setting.

So I think as long as those characters and stories can come through and the environment and acting can support that, it’s got a good chance of being successful (and I already know a few people who are willing to give this a chance that have been hesitant because of either the length or the style of the original manga/anime, so if it opens the series up to a new audience that’s encouraging as well!)

Happy Sannami day! It's 3.07, which means we get to celebrate our favourite cook and navigator.

Last year, I participated in the "Sunset at Sea" Fanbook project in 2024. The (first of its kind) English Language Sannami fanbook's theme was liminal SanNami moments in canon. We've officially reached the 1-year anniversary of this project, which means I now get to share these fics on my "regular" account.

I was honoured to participate in the project, with my own idea and as a pinch hitter. This one was the one I pinch hit for; originally, this idea was Dee's (adietxt), who unfortunately had to withdraw from the project, and I jumped at the chance to take it. I hope I did the idea justice! Thank you to GemmaRose for her work editing as our writing mod, and for Giada for the great artwork that illustrated it. It really takes a village to make a big fandom project like that happen, and now I get to have some of my own work as an actual physical thing in my hands, plus all the fun extras and merch (I have an acrylic stand! I'm a real weeb now! You have no idea how much it makes me grin, lol). It was an awesome experience!

20250104: The History of LEGO Elves day 03 30259 Azari's Magic Fire (2015, 27 pieces, 12 different parts) Azari is an elf with fire elemental magic powers. She has dark red long hair with yellow tips and elf ears, medium nougat skin, magenta tribal print tatoos across her forehead and on one cheek, light brown eyes, a strapless magenta and bright light orange striped torso with a bright light orange belt with flame logo in the center, and a magenta skirt with a medium orange bottom wave hem and magenta sandals with gold straps. The Elvendale Fandom wiki has a good article about Azari's personality and role in the Elves story :) Azari's hair is consistent throughout the sets she appears in, including 30259 Azari's Magic Fire, 41074 Azari and the Magical Bakery, 41075 Elves' Treetop Hideaway, 41077 Aira's Pegasus Sleigh, 41174 Starlight Inn, 41175 Fire Dragon's Lava Cave, 41179 Queen Dragon's Rescue, 41185 Magic Rescue from the Goblin Village, 41186 Azari and the Goblin Forest Escape, 41192 Azari and the Fire Lion Capture, and 41196 Elvenstar Tree Bat Attack. Azari's minidoll head with the magenta forehead tatoo and on one cheek, this torso, and this skirt appears in 30259, 41074, 41075, and 41077. The set itself consists of the minidoll Azari roasting a red apple over bright light orange plates with trans orange tiles. Across the bright light orange plates is a reddish brown 2x6 plate on dark red 1x2 bricks with magenta tiles on top and a reddish brown 1x3x3 gothic arch holding a lavender 4x3 leaf with dark pink 1x1 four petal flower plates and a trans dark pink gem. This set introduced lavender as a color for the 4x3 leaf. BrickSet says this set was released as a promotional polybag with the March 2015 Elves sets, the beginning of the theme. The polybag was a gift with purchase in Europe with any purchase of Elves, Disney Princess, or Friends sets over £25/€30 and free with any Elves purchase in the United States and Canada. This set was available 01 March 2015 - 31 December 2015. The polybag was also found released early in February 2015 at Toys R Us stores in Canada, according to BrickSet. Parts inventory for this polybag can be found on BrickLink or Rebrickable with a free download of the instructions available on LEGO.com or Rebrickable.

What do you think Emily Jones would be majoring in college? What the elves would be doing after the final season?

Ooh fun question! I briefly touched upon what Farran gets up to here, but let's go over everyone now.

Emily: Videography/cinematography would be her go-to major. Her parents would likely urge her into some beginner STEM courses for variety.

Aira: Continues tinkering and researching, eventually landing a gig as an airship engineer. Doesn't stick with that, or any subsequent career, for very long, but consistently does "drag" races with Gust as passtime.

Azari: Travels around mostly. Goes back to helping Johnny at the bakery like she used to before Emily ever arrived. After Emily graduates they both open a cafe.

Farran: Continues hanging around the Elvenstar Tree and further trains with the guardians, eventually taking up Lumia's role as the grounds' caretaker.

Naida: I can't imagine Naida changing anything up a whole lot. She could take up an apprenticeship under Rosalyn, or she could expand the spa thing she has going on.
